> Requim for the Twenty Five > by SouthernCross > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh where are we going, I’m so afraid, By my mother’s side, And yet so alone, I feel the ground jump, The walls rattle, As this metal beast rolls along, Taking us from our ho-ome, Nestled between my parents, With others trap along with us, Twenty five in all, Taken to a place unknown, Set us free! We cry, Set us free! Where are you taking us? Twenty five in all, Together and yet so alone, Set us free! We cry, Set us free! Please let us go ho-ome. The steel beast stops, We hear a shout, The way out opens, They set us free! From our cage we run, Foals like me and elders alike, They set us free! Our thoughts as we leapt from the cage. Set us free! We had cried, Set us free! The wind in my mane. Twenty five in all, We leapt from the threshold together, Set us free! We had cried, Set us free! Please let us go ho-ome. They set us free, And we screamed, They set us free, And we fell so far, Why where they so cruel? All we had wanted was our home, But they had taken us away, And let us free where we could not run, Barely more then a year, I had been a good little foal, I never whined, Never strayed far, They set us free, My eyes on my mother, They set us free, On the last night I’d ever see Then I opened my eyes, To a land so bright, Sky so blue and grass so green, A paradise I’d never dreamed, My mother and father by my side, I stood tall, My eyes gazing all around, Twenty Five in all, In the paradise I’d never dreamed, A whinny from a hill, We all looked at the figures, Dark and beautiful as the stars, Bright and magnificent as the sun, They smiled and welcomed us to our home, They set us free, A paradise we’d never dreamed, They set us free, A home to call our own. In a land called Equestria.
