> Secrets Hidden and Told > by My Rainbow Dash > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1: The Start Of A Search > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scootaloo was waiting for her friends in the CMC's clubhouse. She had something very important to tell them. Knowing that she'd been growing up in the Ponyville orphanage her entire life, she now wanted her friends' help in finding her birth mother. She heard the sound of hoof steps coming from behind her and she turned around to see her friends. She smiled as they trotted over to her. "Hey girls." She said. "I'm glad you could come.". Applebloom sat down next to her. "So what did ya call us over here for, Scoots?" She asked. Sweetie Belle nodded in agreement. "Well, I've been wondering. I know that ever since I was a foal, I was raised in the orphanage and now I'm wondering, who was my birth mother. I'm gonna find out and ask her why she gave me away. It doesn't make any sense of why she would do that. Can you girls help me?" Sweetie Belle nodded and Applebloom followed. "I think that that's a great idea, Scootaloo. But where are we gonna start looking?" Scootaloo put a hoof to her chin. "Well, according to Ms. Lily, she said that I was born in Cloudsdale. I'm guessing that maybe my mom moved to Ponyville. What do you girls think?" The other two fillies thought for a moment but soon nodded. Sweetie Belle spoke first. "That does sound reasonable. Hey, why don't we ask Rainbow Dash if she can help us? She was born and raised in Cloudsdale. Maybe she can help us find your birth mom. What do you girls think?" Scootaloo nodded her head vigurously while Applebloom nodded calmly. "Ah think it might work. Let's find 'er that way we can find Scoots' mom faster. C'mon." Applebloom lead the other two fillies out of the clubhouse in search of the rainbow maned pegasus. > Chapter 2: A Talk With Rainbow > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rainbow Dash was enjoying her nap on one of the stray clouds above the small Earthpony town when she heard somepony call her name. She looked over the cloud's edge to see the three crusaders below her. She smiled and gently flew down to stand in front of the three fillies. "Hey girls. What's up?" Scootaloo stepped forwards the mare. "We were wondering if you could help us with something? Can you do that?" Dash smiled. "I'm all ears kid. What do you need?" Sweetie Belle stepped forward. "Well we were wondering if you could help us find Scoots'birth mom. All we know is that Scootaloo was born in Cloudsdale but was brought here to Ponyville. We guessed that maybe if Scoot was brought here, maybe her mom moved here too. Do you think you know anything that could help us?" All the blood drained from Rainbow's face. They were trying to find Scootaloo's birth mom. She didn't tell anypony that the little pegasus was her daughter. The mare had kept it hidden for so long and didn't want anypony to find out the truth about her. Rainbow swallowed the lump in her throat. How could she managed to deal with this? "Umm. Are you really sure you want to do that? I don't want to sound rude in any way but, what if your mom left you for a reason? Like maybe you were made by an accident and she was forced to do it and had to agree to leave you? Or maybe she doesn't want you to find her. Okay maybe I'm being very rude now. Sorry. I'm no help here." She looked down at the fllies who stared at her. Their expressions were readable. "Do you really think that? Could that be possible? That she didn't want me? Or that she gave me away on purpose?" Scootaloo's eyes clouded over. Realizing what she had said, Rainbow pulled the younger pegasus closer to her into a hug. "Sorry, Scoot. I didn't realize how strong those things were. I shouldn't have said them." Scootaloo broke the hug. "But you could be right. Maybe one of those things is the reason why she left me or gave me away." Rainbow ran a hoof through the filly's mane in a soothing manner. "I doubt that." Scootaloo looked up at the Daredevil who smiled down at her. A kind, caring smile she rarely showed. Scootaloo snuggled in closer to the mare with a smile on her face. "Great job, Scoots. You're making me sappy." Scootaloo looked back up and giggled. Dash snorted. They separated from the hug and stood up." Alright kid. I need to take care of some things that are important. See you three later." She took off into the air and waved goodbye. The three fillies waved in response. > Chapter 3: Fear > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rainbow flew to her house in a panic. Her daughter was looking for her. She was a terrible mom and ended up giving away her own daughter because she wanted her to have a better life due to Rainbow's ex boyfriend being violent to both of them. Once she got to the rainbow manor, she raced inside. She immediately plopped herself onto her bed, trying to figure out how to break the news to the pegasus filly. “She's gonna hate me for sure. I'm not even sure she would like it speak to me, let alone see me. How am I gonna do it in a way that she won't go crazy? Oh who am I kidding. She's gonna hate me no matter what. I guess I just have to tell her privately. I guess I could ask AJ to tell Applebloom to tell Scootaloo to meet me on the field. Maybe then I can break it to her." She sighed. "It's worth a shot. I'll do it tomorrow after she gets out of school." For the rest of the afternoon and evening, the rainbow haired mare laid on her bed trying to figure out a way to tell her daughter who she really is. After a lot of thought, she got it but felt tired. She immediately noticed her eyelids become heavy and she fell asleep. ~/\~ It was unusual for Rainbow to wake up so early but she needed to get Applejack to tell her sister to tell Scootaloo to meet her on the field after school. She flew over to Sweet Apple Acres in the early morning sir. She saw the barrier of Honesty already start her job on the farm. She flew over close to her. "Hey AJ." She called. The farmer looked over at her and walked over to the pegasus. "Hey RD. What can Ah do for ya?" "Well I was wondering if you could tell your sister if she could tell Scoots if she could meet me on the field after school gets out. Is there a chance you can do that for me?" Applejack nodded. "Sure thing, Rainbow. But Ah do have a question. Why do ya need to do that?" Dash tapped the tip of her hooves together. "I need to talk to her about something important and private. Soooo, yeah. That's why." She looked at the farmer. "Well that's a good enough answer for me. I'll tell Applebloom that you need to talk to Scootaloo. C’ya later, RD." She waves and walks off. "C’ya AJ." Rainbow calls back. She flew up to the sky to start the weather of the day. After some time of talking to the weather team and setting up the weather, Dash went to a private spot she went to some times when she needed some quiet time. Once she got there, she removed the spell that covered her alicorn horn. Yes she is an alicorn and was one since birth. She had had it hidden ever since she was a foal. Now, from time to time, she'll remove the cover she'll remove the cover spell to see her true form. She'd supposed to be at Wonderbolts HQ for the past week, but she managed to slip away without being noticed which is kind of hard to believe because she has rainbow hair. Dash sighed. She concentrated on the spell and covered her horn with her magic once again. She heard the sound of hooves and somepony call her name. "RAINBOW DASH!!" She turned around to see the small pegasus running towards her. Her heart was rattling. "It's okay, Dash. You can do this." She took a deep breath. The filly stopped in front of her. "I heard from Applebloom that you wanted to talk to me. What is it?" Dash sighed. "Kid, after I say this, promise me you won't get mad and leave me. Please." Scootaloo wearily nodded. Dash continued. "So you've been looking for your birth mom. Well... I..." Rainbow squeezed her eyes shut and continued speaking. But her words came out in one big bunch. "ScootalooI'mafraidtotellyouthatI'myourmomandIcompletelyunderstandifyouwanttoleavemebutpleasedon'tbecauseI'vemissedhavingyouinmyarns." She took a deep breath. "I'm so so sorry." She looked down at the filly who stare at her. It too some time for Scootaloo to process what was said, but when she finally understood what was said, she glared at the older pegasus in front of her. With one powerful swing, she slapped Rainbow across the face, leaving a strong and very visible hoof print on her cheek. Dash touched her cheek. It stung because of how hard the slap was. Before she could say anything, Scootaloo was muzzle to muzzle with the rainbow haired mare. "You lied to me. You lied to me! After all this time, you've kept this a secret from me. Why?! What, were you scared? Too afraid to tell me the truth? Hmm? ANSWER ME!!" Scootaloo screamed. Dash's eyes began to water. "I-I" but no words could come out of her mouth. "I HATE YOU!!" Scootaloo screamed again. The tears were already falling from Dash's eyes. She couldn't do anything. She turned around and launched herself into the air and she flew in the direction of her house. Scootaloo watched. She sighed, shook her head, and walked back to the orphanage. ~/\~ Dash flew like the wind and right as she entered her house, she flew straight for her room. She flopped onto her bed and cried. No. She didn't cry. She sobbed. Tears kept calling from her eyes like waterfalls. A never ending fountain of sadness. Her body shook. Full of emotion of being alone. Ever since she dropped her daughter off at the orphanage, she felt lonely. When she saw Scootaloo again, her heart filled with joy and love. Now? It was broken. Not in half, but in millions of shards that couldn't be put back together. "Though, at the same time," she told herself, "I deserve to be alone. > Chapter 4: A Mother and Daughter Reunion > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's been a month since the incident happened and Dash had locked herself in her house and hadn't left since her daughter had yelled at her. The depression made her not eat a single bite of food for the past month. When she looked at herself in the mirror, she noticed a few things about herself. Her coat and wings had turned from their original cyan blue to a light gray. Her mane, once a beautiful rainbow, now black and completely out of place. Her irises faded to nearly a light gray with tear stains on her cheeks. She had deep bags under her eyes. Her body was thinner except for swelling in her lower abdomen. She also felt weaker. She slowly walked over and lied down on her bed. She had let her horn remain shown because she didn't have the strength to cover it. The remaining amount of magic she had was to magically feed the foals that had been growing inside her. She knew it was bad for her to do this to herself, but she didn't have the strength to do much. Her eyes filled with tears, but she didn't have the strength to cry. Her eyelids became heavy and she left her body to shut her down. She knew she wasn't going to survive and there was only one way to heal her. To have the one heal her with their apologies. Scootaloo wasn't going to apologize for her actions anytime soon. She just knew it. ~/\~ The past month had been hard for Scootaloo. She found out her idol was her mother. She yelled at her, slapped her across her face, told her she hated her, and much more. She had to make it up to her mother. But how? She was a pegasus who couldn't fly, so there was no way could get up to the manor. Then it hit her. She could ask Twilight if she could teleport her to her mom's house. She would most likely have to do it after school and go directly there. Scootaloo sighed and waited for school to be over. About half an hour later, school was over and Scootaloo ran over to Twilight's castle. She knocked on the door and soon Spike answered it. "Hey, Scootaloo. How are you?" "I'm good. Is Twilight here? I need to ask her about something." Scootaloo explained. Spike nodded and lead her to where the violet princess was studying. "Hey, Twilight," Spike said while poking her shoulder. The alicorn turned to face her assistant. "Oh, hey Spike. What can I do for you?" "It's not me who needs your help, Twi. It's Scootaloo who wants to talk to you." The young dragon stepped aside so the young pegasus could walk up to the princess. "Hey, Scootaloo. What can I do for you?" Scootaloo was hesitant. "Well you know I can't fly, I was wondering if you could teleport me to Rainbow Dash's place. I need to talk to her about something important. Can you do that?" Twilight's smile faded, but then it reappeared. "Alright." She nodded. "But to teleport you, I'm gonna have to have to teleport the both of us." Scootaloo nodded. Twilight's horn glowed and the two of them disappeared in a blink of an eye and reappeared on a giant cloud manor. Scootaloo turned to the house, then back to the princess. "Thanks, Twilight." The violet princess nodded and teleported herself back to her castle. Scootaloo sighed and turned back to the house. Knowing she could either knock on the door or walk right through the cloud, she decided to walk through the cloud. Then she ran up the stairs to the room of the rainbow-haired mare. Scootaloo tried at the knob and found it unlocked. She opened the door and gasped at what she saw. Lying on her bed, was her mother. But then she noticed everything else wrong with her. Scootaloo's eyes widened and she jumped on the bed so she was sitting next to her mother. "Mommy?" She whispered as she touched her mother's cheek softly. She felt the wetness and realized that her mother had been crying. Scootaloo's tears finally fell from her eyes and she sobbed into her mother's chest, soaking it with her tears. "I'm so sorry, Mommy. I'm so so sorry. I did this to you. You deserve better than this." She hugged her mother tightly as she continued crying. She didn't notice her body being lifted from the breaths her mother took. That's when the magic started happening. Rainbow's colors started back. Her mane and tail retrieved their rainbows in them. Her coat and wings returned to their original cyan blue color. All the strength she had lost came back so she could move. She slowly opened her magenta eyes and smiled. Rainbow slowly wrapped her arms around her daughter and pulled her close. She gave Scootaloo a small kiss on her forehead and hugged her. When Scootaloo felt the hug and kiss she looked up to see her mom smiling at her. Fresh tears filled her eyes. They weren't tears of sadness though. They were tears of joy. She hugged her mother. "Mommy!" She cried. "My beautiful baby. I'm so happy to see you again. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. It was wrong of me to do that." They released the hug. "I'm sorry too. It was wrong of me to hit and yell at you. I went too far. I don't know why I'm your daughter." Scootaloo looked away. She felt a hoof on her chin and her head being turned. "Baby, look at me. We all make mistakes. We both did. But we learn from them. It's what and we go through. If it were right to say, we both are at fault here. We even now?" Scootaloo looked at the rainbow-haired mare's eyes and nodded. She hurried her muzzle deep in her mother's chest and hugged her. It took Rainbow by surprise but she returned it. Then something but Scootaloo and she broke herself from her mom. She looked at her mom's head to see a horn. Scootaloo blinked in confusion. "Mom, when did you grow a horn?" Rainbow chuckled. "I was born with it but Princess Celestia had it covered ever since I was a foal. My parents agreed with it and as soon as I found out what I really was, which was a few years ago, I found it hard to believe. Though there is a reason for it. Many, many years ago, thousands of years ago, the pegasi were lead by a king. I don't remember what his name was, but he was the ruler of the pegasi and king of Cloudsdale. Somehow, that title rolled through different bloodlines, but after that king died, everypony forgot about it. Then other pegasi with high power took over but they never had the highest rule of that king. Apparently, that king's blood ended up flowing in my family, and when my mom gave birth to me, I was given the title. The ruler of the pegasi and the queen of Cloudsdale. I couldn't believe it, but now, I feel like I have a higher filling class than the other Princesses." "Why's that, Mom?" Scootaloo asked. "Because a Queen's ranking is higher than a princess'. But knowing that you're my daughter, me being queen makes you..." Scootaloo's eyes widened. "You mean… I'm a princess?" Rainbow nodded. "But you're gonna be treated differently from the other princesses because I'm your mom. For now, though, do you think the two of us can catch up on some mother-daughter time?" Scootaloo nodded her head vigorously. "Know I shouldn't do it but, I think I wanna hang out with you more than finding my Cutie Mark right now. Do you think that after school you and I can play and be with each other for the next week?" Scootaloo leaned in close to her mother who laughed. "Of course we can, peanut. Of course, we can. Oh, that does remind me." Rainbow placed her horn on her daughter's forehead and closed her eyes. A magical aurora surrounded her horn and Scootaloo. A tingling feeling filled Scootaloo's body and after a minute, Rainbow removed her horn from her daughter's forehead and smiled. "I want you to try something for me, okay?" Scootaloo slowly nodded. " Alright. So you know how you always buzz your wings, right?" The filly nodded. "Okay. So instead of that, I want you to make small movements with your wings. Move your wings up, then bring them down. Slowly up, then down. Up then down. Easy pattern." While her mother was instructing her, Scootaloo followed the pattern she was given. Slowly moving her wings up, then down. Up, then down. Up, down. Up, down. Scootaloo didn't notice at first, but then she realized that she was slowly lifting herself off the cloud bed. She kept the momentum and smiled at her mom. Rainbow smiled back. Scootaloo continued following the pattern and landed back on the bed. She ran into her mother's arms. "You helped me fly?" Rainbow nodded. "I gave you a boost. It was you believing in yourself that you could do it. It's focusing on what you want to do and believe that you can. Keep putting yourself down and saying you can't get you anywhere. You need to have faith in yourself. As well as confidence. Instead of buzzing your wings, you flapped them. Seeing you happy makes me happy. All I need is you. I love you, Scootaloo. With all of my heart." Scootaloo's heart swelled with joy. "I love you too, Mommy." They stayed in each other's embrace before Scootaloo began to feel tired. She let out a small yawn. Her eyelids began to droop and she fell asleep in her mother's arms. Rainbow Dash smiled. She finally had her baby back in her arms. That's when it hit her. She carefully laid Scootaloo down on the bed and covered her with the blanket. Dash walked to the kitchen and grabbed a granola bar that she had stored away for some particular reason. Finally having food in her belly made her feel slightly different. Holding off on eating for a whole month then starting again. Her body was going to need to get used to eating again. She herself would too. She finished the granola bar and walked back up to her room. Finally having her daughter back made her smile. Then it faded. "I'm gonna need to fix those adoption papers and have her reunited with me again. I just need to talk to Ms. Lily about it." She looked down at her two-month swollen belly and put a hoof to it and smiled. "You guys are gonna love this world." > Chapter 5: Cloudsdale Part 1: The Castle > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scootaloo woke up about two hours later to see her mother looking down at her. "Have a good nap peanut?" Scootaloo nodded. Scootaloo nodded. Rainbow smiled sweetly at her daughter. "C'mon, we need to get ready to leave for Cloudsdale." Scootaloo looked at her mother, confused. "Why? What's up in Cloudsdale?" Rainbow giggled. "We need to head up to the castle. Why else?" Scootaloo giggled in return. "Oops. I forgot." Rainbow laughed. She picked up her daughter with her magic and placed her on her back. "C'mon. We need to get going. We'll spend some mother-daughter time there. Okay." Scootaloo nodded. The rainbow maned mare walked outside her house with her daughter on her back. Rainbow opened her majestic wings and launched herself into the air towards Cloudsdale. Scootaloo squealed while holding onto her mother. As the giant cloud city came into view, Rainbow Dash flew higher that way she wouldn't be easily spotted in the air. They flew closer to the center of the city and approached a large building. It was a castle with rainbow waterfalls flowing down into rainbow pools at the bottom. Scootaloo gasped at its beauty and Rainbow smiled at its wonders. As they landed at the entrance, they saw a guard approach them. Once he saw Rainbow, he bowed before her. He spoke. "Your Highness. Welcome back." Rainbow Dash nodded. "Thank you, Thunder Wing."Thunder Wing nodded. He then spotted Scootaloo on her back. “Your Highness. Is this your daughter?” Rainbow nodded. “Indeed she is. Princess Scootaloo to be exact.” Scootaloo giggled at the title. Thunder Wing nodded “Well then, please follow me. I’m sure you would like to get settled in.” Rainbow nodded. “Yes indeed. Please, do lead the way.” Thunder Wing nodded again and lead the two royals through the castle. After a little tour, Thunder Wing led them to the throne room. Three other guards were already waiting there. “Your Highness,” one of them stepped towards Rainbow and bowed, “ the others and I would like to welcome you back to take over rulings the Pegasi once again. Though you might have to speak with the mayor of Cloudsdale as well as the mayor of Las Pegasus. But before that, we shall present you and your daughter your crowns.” The other two guards who were holding the crowns walked forward and placed a crown on each of the royal’s heads. “Deeply appreciated, the three of you, but first I believe that my daughter and I shall most likely sit down and get ready for the two mayors to arrive?” The four guards in the room nodded and let the Queen and the princess sit down on their thrones. There was a knock on the doors and the Queen nodded to the guards to open the doors. In walked the mayor of Cloudsdale She looked up at the Queen and then bowed. “Your Highness. Welcome back .” She spoke. Rainbow nodded. “Thank you. It is good to be back where I belong.” The mayor spoke again. “Yes, but about the Wonderbolts? You were a part of their team, am I correct?” Rainbow sighed. “Yes indeed I was, but now I must take my place as Queen, even though I’m still very young. This is the place that I need to be in. It makes more sense than hiding my true form from others.” The mayor nodded. A guard walked into the room and walked towards Rainbow. “Your Highnesses. The mayor of Las Pegasus will be arriving now. She apologizes for being late.” Rainbow nodded. “It’s alright. Send her in.” The guard bowed and opened the door to welcome in the mayor. She walked in and bowed in front of Rainbow. “Your Highnesses. Welcome back.” Rainbow Dash smiled. “It’s good to be back knowing this is my rightful place.” Both mayors nodded. The meeting went on for a while longer before both mayors headed back to their destinations. Rainbow sighed softly and shook her head, her long mane flying from side to side. She heard a little giggle on her right and looked over at the filly to see that she had a hoof covering her muzzle which caused her to hold back a laugh. Rainbow sighed, rolled her eyes, and shook her head. She patted her daughter on her head. “You are one silly filly. What am I gonna do with you?” This time Scootaloo did giggle. “Stay with me?” Rainbow nodded. “Come on. Let’s get you to bed. It’s getting late and you and I both need our sleep.” While she was saying that, Scootaloo let out a small yawn. Her mom crouched down so she could climb and lay on her back. On the way to her room, Rainbow Dash stopped at her daughter’s bedroom to tuck her in. She levitated her daughter off her back and set her under her covers. “I’m definitely gonna need to talk to Spitfire tomorrow about this." And with that, she fell asleep. > Chapter 6: Cloudsdale Part 2: A Talk With The Wonderbolts and A Surprise From Friends > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The sun had shown through Rainbow’s window the next morning and she squeezed her eyes tighter as the light flew right for her eyes. As she got used to the amount of light, the new queen remembered that her daughter still had school. Rainbow dragged herself out of bed towards the shower. The warm refreshing water felt wonderful on her coat and released all the stress and tension she had in her body. After the shower, she dried herself, brushed her mane and tail, and walked over to her daughter’s room. Once she opened the door and walked inside, she smiled. Her daughter was still fast asleep, her mouth open with drool falling from the side of her muzzle. Rainbow snickered to herself and nuzzled Scootaloo awake. “Morning, Scoots. Time to get up or you’ll be late for school. Wouldn’t want that now would we?” Scootaloo groaned. “Nooo! I don’t wanna go to school.” Dash smiled. “Well if you get up now and get ready, I’ll let you hang out with your friends after school for however long you want. But you have to wake up now.” Scootaloo’s eyes shot open. “Really?” Rainbow nodded. “But you need to get ready first.” Scootaloo immediately jumped out of her bed and started getting ready for the day ahead of her. After a quick breakfast with her mom, she grabbed her saddlebag and galloped towards the front of the castle. But right as she got there, she was held back with a magical aura. She turned around to see her mom walking towards her. “And where do you think you’re going?” “Uhh, to school?” Rainbow smirked. “And you think that you’re gonna get to Ponyville from here by yourself?” Scootaloo hesitated for a moment before understanding her mother’s point. She looked up at her. “Can I have a ride?” Rainbow giggled and lowered herself down. “Hop on, kiddo. We’ll be back in Ponyville in no time.” Scootaloo instantly climbed onto her mother’s back and held on tight as they took off to the town that they used to live in. As the small earth pony down came into view, Rainbow cast a spell that hid her horn and her swollen abdomen. The rainbow maned Queen landed in front of the school and hugged her daughter goodbye. “Bye Rainbow Dash!” Rainbow understood why she did that. She didn’t want anypony else to figure out that the one and only Rainbow Dash was her mother. Rainbow smiled and took off for Cloudsdale. She took off so quickly that she didn’t hear her friends call her name. ~/\~ Once Cloudsdale came into full view, the rainbow maned Queen removed the spell that hid her horn and her swollen abdomen and flew towards the castle where she was greeted by Thunder Wing. “Your Highness.” He cried. “We’ve been worried. We didn’t know where you went.” Rainbow put a hoof up. “It’s alright. I just brought my daughter to school. I’ll give you a warning next time.” Thunder Wing nodded. “Thank you, Your Highness.” Rainbow nodded and walked back into the castle with Thunder Wing trailing behind her. But as soon as she entered the throne room, she froze. There, standing in front of her, were the Wonderbolts. “Oh Celestia. Help me now.” Rainbow thought to herself. ~/\~ Spitfire, Fleetfoot, Blaze, High Winds, Misty Fly, Surprise, Soarin, Fire Streak, Lightning Streak, Rapidfire, Silver Lining, and Wave Chill were all standing in the throne room. Rainbow swallowed the large lump in her throat. This wasn’t good. Spitfire stepped forward. “You wanna explain something to us, newbie?” Dash sucked in a deep breath and then let it out. “Alright. You know the history of the King of Cloudsdale as well as the ruler of the pegasi, right?” All of the ‘bolts nodded. “Right. So after he died, his blood ran through the blood of lots of ponies but they forgot about it. Of course, we all know that lots of other pegasi took over, like Commander Hurricane, but they didn’t have as much power. Apparently, the Kong’s blood ran through my family and ended up stopping at me. I was born an alicorn and now have to hold this position. It’s my responsibility to rule Cloudsdale and the Pegasi in all of Equestria. Sorry I didn’t tell you earlier.” While she was talking, Rainbow went from standing in front of the doors to sitting down on the throne. The Wonderbolts said nothing the entire time. They could only stare at what their friend had become. Rapidfire spoke first and stepped towards the Queen. “Wait, wait, wait. Let me get this straight. You’re now, the ruler of the pegasi, the Queen of Cloudsdale, the element of loyalty, the fastest flier in all of Equestria, the only pony who can pull off a Sonic Rainboom, and has saved Equestria dozens of times now.” Rainbow nodded. “Yeah, that’s about it.” She smiled. She looked at the rest of her teammates who still stared. “So what now?” Spitfire asked. Rainbow shrugged. “To be honest, I’m not entirely sure. I haven’t even told my friends about this.” The room became quiet. Fleetfoot walked towards the Queen. “Hey, Dash?” Rainbow looked up at her friend. “Don’t you have a little sister? Should she be here too?” Rainbow smiled. “Believe it or not but, she’s not my sister. Or at least, non-biological sister. She’s actually my daughter.” Dash gave them a sheepish smile. They all stared. “YOUR DAUGHTER?!??” Rainbow gave a sheepish nod. “Yeah. Ex boyfriend problems. I was a pregnant teenager. Ten years without telling her. She got really mad once I told her a month ago. Now I’m pregnant again. Yeah, my life’s awesome. Not really.” She let out a small chuckle. She heard a snort and looked up. “Yeesh, Crash. We always knew your life had lots of problems in it, but these are probably the worst.” Misty Fly snorted. The rainbow maned Queen rolled her eyes. “Yeah, thanks. Very nice.” The mares snorted and the stallions chuckled. “Oh haha very funny.” The ‘bolts broke out laughing. Rainbow joined in. ____________Back In Ponyville____________ Scootaloo was eager for school to end. She’d decided that it would be fun to bring Applebloom and Sweetie Belle up to Cloudsdale with her. A few minutes later, the school bell rang and all the fillies and colts emptied the class. “Hey, girls,” Scootaloo called when she and her friends met up. “Oh, hi Scootaloo.” Sweetie Belle greeted her friend. “Did ya fun out who yer mom was?” Applebloom asked. Scootaloo nodded. “Yeah, but you have to keep it a secret.” The other two fillies nodded. “My mom is Rainbow Dash.” They stared. “Yer serious?” Applebloom asked. Scootaloo nodded. “I was very upset after she told me, but after a month I decided to see how she was doing. She didn’t look too good. Her coat and wings were a light gray, her mane and tail were a dark gray, nearly black, and she looked very sick. When I apologized for what I said to her, her colors came back and she forgave me. She even apologized for not telling me sooner. We made up, but what shocked me was that." Scootaloo looked around to see if anyone was watching, “ she had a horn on her head. Mom’s an alicorn. In fact, she’s the Queen of Cloudsdale and the ruler of the Pegasi. You should come by the castle. It’s awesome!” Sweetie Belle put a hoof to her chin. “Hey, how about we go there now?” Applebloom nodded. Scootaloo hesitated. “Slight issue there. Cloudsdale is far from Ponyville this time of year. In order to get there, we need to ask for a teleportation spell from Twilight.” “So what are we standin’ around here for?” Applebloom cheered. “Yeah. Let’s go now!” Sweetie Belle followed. “Alright. I’m gonna grab my scooter and the extension so you two can join me.” Scootaloo stated. “But wait. We’re not Pegasi. We can’t walk on clouds.” Sweetie Belle claimed. “That’s why we’re asking for a teleportation spell and a cloud-walking spell,” Scootaloo explained. The other two nodded and the CMCs ran for Twilight’s castle as fast as they could. Scootaloo knocked on the door. Spike peaked his head out from behind it. “Oh. Hey girls.” He greeted. “Hey, Spike. Is Twilight here? We need to ask her about something.” Sweetie Belle spoke. Spike nodded. “Yeah, she’s here. Follow me.” The three fillies followed the baby dragon to the Map Room where all the element barriers were sitting. “Ah still don’t get it.” They heard Applejack speak. “It ain’t like her.” “I have to agree with that, darling. Rainbow Dash represents the element of loyalty. She wouldn’t leave us behind or push us aside.” Rarity followed. Scootaloo stepped forward. “Umm, Twilight? Can you do us a favor?” Twilight’s face was wearing a frown when she turned to the fillies but changed once she saw who was speaking. “Oh hi there, Scootaloo. Do you need anything?” “Umm. Yeah, we do.” Scootaloo hesitated. “Can you, by any chance, put a cloud-walking spell in Sweetie Belle and Applebloom and teleport us to Cloudsdale?” She sheepishly took a step back from the princess. “We wanted to go up and meet the Queen of Cloudsdale who’s also the ruler of the Pegasi. I already met her and I think that Applebloom and Sweetie Belle should as well.” Twilight froze once she heard “Queen of Cloudsdale and ruler of the Pegasi”. “I’m sorry. But could you say that again?” “Umm. I wanted Applebloom and Sweetie Belle to meet the Queen of Cloudsdale who’s also the ruler of the Pegasi.” Scootaloo shrunk back. Scared of what would happen next. Twilight took a deep breath in. “Alright. But if you’re going, so are we.” “Mom isn’t gonna be happy about this.” Scootaloo thought to herself. ___________Back in Cloudsdale __________ The talk with her former teammates was fun, but they needed to get back to their headquarters for practice. “Thanks for the talk, Crash.” Spitfire waved her hoof. Rainbow nodded. “Drop by anytime, Cap.” Spitfire chuckled. “Cya, Crash.” Rainbow saluted and Spitfire saluted in return. The other ‘bolts waved to their queen and Rainbow returned it. Once the ‘bolts left, the rainbow maned Queen sighed and leaned back in her throne. “That was an amazing talk. Too bad I’m not part of the team anymore. But hey, at least I can boss them around now. I guess I could visit them from time to time. Seems fun. And I could get special seats in their shows now. Heh. This life is pretty awesome now.” The Queen closed her eyes but they opened once there was a knock on the door. Rainbow Dash groaned. “Who is it?” A female guard entered the room. “Your Highness. Your daughter, her friends, and your friends have arrived.” Rainbow froze. ”Oh goodness, no.” ~/\~ After being teleported to Cloudsdale, Scootaloo was jittery the entire way to the castle. She led them through different streets to get to their destination. Once they reached the entrance, the mares, fillies, and dragon were in shock. “Oh my! This castle is simply divine!” Rarity spoke in awe. “You’re darn tootin’ right ‘bout that, Rarity,” Applejack added on. “Oh goodness. It’s beautiful. I’ve never seen anything like it.” Fluttershy pointed out. She had been born in Cloudsdale, yes, but she’d never seen the castle before. “Wowie!” Pinkie exclaimed. “There was nothing about this in the books I’ve read.” Twilight continued. “I have to agree with you there, Twilight.” Starlight pushes into the conversation. The two fillies and dragon had no words. Cloudy Skies stepped forward. She noticed Scootaloo immediately but saw the motion that she was making. It was to tell her not to call her Princess Scootaloo. The mare nodded and turned to everyone else. “I take it that you are here to speak to her highness the queen?” Twilight nodded. “Indeed we are. Could you take us to her?” Cloudy Skies her head. She turned to Skylar Winds who was standing next to her. “Would you mind telling the Queen?” Skylar nodded and flew away to tell the Queen. Scootaloo’s heart was rattling inside her rib cage. Cloudy walked up to Scootaloo. “We won’t tell, but I believe it would be best if you went over to your mother.” Scootaloo nodded. The guard turned to the others. “Please, follow me. We shouldn’t keep her highnesses waiting.” She led the ponies through the halls to the throne room, but along the way, Scootaloo broke apart from the others and took a shortcut to the room her mother was in. Once she was inside, she saw her mom pacing the room. “Mom?” When she said that word, the mare turned to face her daughter. “I’m sorry. I just wanted to bring Applebloom and Sweetie Belle, but Twilight forced that she’d bring everyone. Is it okay if I say that we’re just sisters?” Rainbow smiled and walked over to the throne. “Whatever you want peanut.” She ruffled Scootaloo’s mane playfully. There was a knock on the door. “Your Highness.” Rainbow took a long breath in. “Send them in.” Cloudy Skies and Skylar Winds opened the doors and in walked two fillies, six mares, and a baby dragon. Once they saw Rainbow Dash, the throne, the wings, and the horn, they froze. The Queen gave a sheepish smile and a light chuckle. “Hey, guys.” > Chapter 7: Cloudsdale Part 3: Morning Sickness and An Interesting Visit From Friends And The Princesses > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sweat was pouring down the back of Rainbow’s neck. A fake smile plastered on her face. She had multiple emotions written on her face and she looked a bit pale. Spike rose a brow. “Uhh, Rainbow Dash? Are you okay? You look a bit pale.” Everypony in the room immediately noticed that. “Uhh, Mom? You okay.” Everyone in the room froze at that word. Scootaloo didn’t care that she said. “I... I... I...” she teleported out of the room. Scootaloo knew exactly where she was and followed her. Everyone followed the filly. What surprised them was that she had ran to the bathroom. But what surprised them more was that their friend emptying her stomach at this time. They heard Rainbow cough a few times before she calmed down. Scootaloo helped her mother stand up. “Mom?” The rainbow maned Queen looked down at her daughter’s worried face. “Yeah, peanut?” She asked. “Are you okay?” Rainbow nodded. “Yeah. Just need to lie down for a little bit. Pregnancy has its perks after all.” She sighed and smiled at her daughter lovingly. Once the made it to the queen’s room, Twilight and Starlight lifted the mare up and onto her bed gently, as Rarity pulled the sheets back to let the mare lay on the mattress and covered her with the blanket. Scootaloo sighed as she watched her mother sleep. She felt a tap on her shoulder and she turned around. Twilight spoke. “Uhh, Scootaloo. Why did you call Rainbow Dash “Mom”? You do realize that that’s not true, right?” Scootaloo shook her head. “Rainbow Dash is actually my mom. She ended up asking Applejack if she could ask Applebloom if she could ask me to meet Rainbow Dash at the field after school Andes a month ago. I did as she asked and she ended up telling me that I was her daughter. I was upset and I hit her and yelled at her. She flew away very sad and I walked away very angry that she couldn’t have told me early. A month later I went to visit her and she was a complete mess. Her coat was gray, her mane and tail were nearly black, she had bags under her eyes, and her cheeks were wet. She had been crying because she knew she had messed up. That’s what she told me. But after I apologized, her colors came back and apologized to me for not telling me earlier and I apologized for what I did. We made up and I found out that she was the queen of Cloudsdale as well as the ruler of the Pegasi. She was also born an alicorn. Since she was my mom and a queen, it made me a princess which surprised me as well. Then we flew off for Cloudsdale and Mom had a meeting with the mayor of Cloudsdale and the mayor of Las Pegasus. A simple welcome back much more I didn’t pay attention to. After that we went to bed. Mom woke me up for school, we had breakfast together and she dropped me off at school. That’s all I know because I was at school. But I did know from her looks that she was pregnant which means that I’m gonna be a big sister.” “What happened to your dad?” Fluttershy asked. “Mom said that he was abusive and drank a lot and once he found out she was pregnant he ended up leaving her. So after Mom gave birth to me, she gave me to the orphanage that way I could live a better life than she did. For her pregnancy this time, she ended up getting drunk with a stallion and they spent the night together. Lucky for her, she already knew the stallion and was friends with him. Mom was surprisingly happy once she found out. She also had the ability to see how many foals she’s having. It’s twins. She doesn’t know the race or gender yet though. That’s all I know. If you want more information, you’d have to ask Mom.” Scootaloo looked back at her mother and she could tell she was in pain. Sweetie Belle and Applebloom walked over and sat next to their friend on the bed. Sweetie Belle looked up at Twilight. “Is there anything we can do to lessen her pain. It seems very bad.” Twilight walked over and looked at her friend. She put a hoof to her chin. “I might not, but I know some ponies who might. Spike, take a note please.” A scroll and quill floated next to Spike and he took them both. “What would you like to say?” He asked. “Write this: “Dear Princess Celestia, My friends and I found out that our friend, Rainbow Dash, is the queen of Cloudsdale as well as the ruler of the Pegasi. However, she is pregnant and seems to be very sick. We were wondering if you and/or princess Luna have something that possibly heal her. Her daughter, Princess Scootaloo is very worried about her mother’s health. We hope to hear from you soon, Sighed, your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle, and her friends.”” And with a deep breath from the dragon, Spike sent the letter in a puff of smoke. “Now what do we do?” Fluttershy asked quietly. “The only thing we can do. Wait.” Twilight said with a calm voice. Everyone looked over at the Pegasus princess who went back to rubbing her mother’s forearm. She then lifted it and nuzzled into her mother’s chest. She let out a quiet whimper. Everyone looked at each other with concerned looks. Not long after the letter had been sent, there was a knock on the door. Starlight turned around and opened the door. “Oh. Princess Celestia, Princess Luna. We’re so glad you could make it.” The princesses looked worried. Celestia stepped forward. “Please. Let us see how she is.” The unicorn lead the solar and lunar princesses to where the queen rested. Once they reached her, Celestia and Luna gasped. The queen’s state had become worse. Her coat was light gray and her mane was almost black. Celestia placed a hoof on Scootaloo’s shoulder and the Pegasus filly looked up at the regal alicorn. “Are you alright, Scootaloo?” Princess Luna asked. Scootaloo nodded. “I am and will be.” She looked back at her mom. “I’m not so sure about her.” Rainbow looked sick. Her breathing was uneven and had rasps. Scootaloo looked back up at the princesses. “Can you help her?” Princess Celestia and Princess Luna looked at themselves and then back the Queen. “There is something we can do, but it is very risky.” Princess Celestia pointed out. Scootaloo went right in front of her. “Please do it. I don’t like seeing her like this. I remembered what happened last time even though last time she was sick from a broken heart. Plus that was my fault.” She then felt a hoof on her shoulder. A raspy voice spoke. “There’s no need for you to do that, sweetie.” Scootaloo’s head shot up and she looked over to see her mom weakly smiling at her. “M-mom?” Rainbow nodded. Scootaloo’s eyes filled with tears of joy. “MOM!!” She brought her mother into a deep hug. After a while, she let her mom go and pestered her with questions. “Do you need anything? Food? Water? What’re you want. Name it.” Rainbow and the others in the room laughed. “Scoots. I’m fine. Water would be nice, as well as a large yellow cake with chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate chips on top would do.” Scootaloo, Celestia, and Luna giggled while everyone else stared at her. Dash looked over at them. “Food cravings. Perks of being pregnant.” She grinned at them. Then they all burst out laughing and then the Queen and three princesses joined. Not long after Scootaloo had left the room to tell the chefs what her mom wanted, they brought in the cake and water she had asked for. Rainbow Dash was thankful for her friends being there for her and staying with her. It was late in the evening and everypony ended up having to head back to their homes. The main six and their sisters and dragon and Starlight, (minus Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo), headed back to Ponyville while the two rulers of Equestria headed back to Canterlot. Mother and daughter watched them all leave with a smile on their faces. They stayed standing at the entrance of the castle as they watched Celestia lower the sun and Luna raise the moon. It was a beautiful sight to be seen. Rainbow heard a small yawn next to her to see Scootaloo leaning on her foreleg. The alicorn smiled, picked her daughter up with her magic, placed her onto her back, and trotted back inside the castle. Once she reached her daughter’s room, Rainbow Dash tucked Scootaloo into her bed and gave her a quick kiss goodnight. “Goodnight, pumpkin. Mommy always loves you.” Scootaloo didn’t respond. It was okay because the little filly was fast asleep. The rainbow maned alicorn watched the pegasus filly for a minute before retiring to her own room.
