Yup, just another normal old day in Ponyville. Wait, no. Today, Love Bug is going to help her friend Twilight with a spell. When that happens, she gets turned into a cat. But when she gets turned into a cat, Twilight needs to find the reverse spell. As she explores, The Cutie Mark Crusaders, her sister Crystal, and her friend Epic Bloom find her. What trouble will the bunch of fillies get into this time?
Bright morning sunlight filled Love Bugs room. It was a beautiful sight she rarely sees. She wasn't a morning pony, sleeping in till about noon. Love Bug was about the same age as Twilight Sparkle, and was also a unicorn. She had a black body and bright red hair, which was the style of Princess Luna's. Her cutie mark was a lady bug, which she admired everyday. Today she couldn't sleep in at all. Twilight Sparkle has told her to meet her at the library very early today. Something about a spell or whatever. Love Bug wasn't very happy with her, having to get up so early just to help her with a spell, but unlike her, Twilight WAS a morning pony, who didn't mind getting up very early.
Love Bugs younger sister, Crystal, a dark blue unicorn with light blue hair which was the style of Vinyl Scratches, wanted her to help her find her cutie mark. Her friend, Epic Bloom, who was best friends with her and Scootaloo, had discovered her cutie mark a week ago. She was extremely jealous and wanted to find her cutie mark as well. She said it was so cool, a multi-colored explosion. Unfortunately, she wanted to discover her mark the same day Twilight Sparkle told her to meet her at the library. She would probably be pouting and whining this morning, but she promised she would help her tomorrow. It seemed pegasi always got their cutie marks before unicorns. Love bug sighed, and got out of bed.
She walked passed Crystals bedroom, and the white unicorn wasn't there. Love Bug was prepared for a storm of whining and complaining from her younger sister, about not having her cutie mark and she couldn't help her today. She walked down the wooden stairs and went into their kitchen. Crystal was sitting at the table, waiting for her older sibling. "Love Bug! Why can't you help me find my cutie mark? I want to have one too! Epic Bloom has one!" She whined. "I know, I know. But these things take time." Love Bug informed her. "But....but....how come Epic Bloom and most of my friends have them then?" Crystal persisted. "Some fillies or colts cutie marks come later than others!" Love Bug said getting mad.
"Well, that's not fair!" She exclaimed. "I know its not. I was one of the last fillies in my class to get a cutie mark." Love Bug said. "Really?" "Yeah." Love Bug replied getting some Derpy-O's out of the cabinet. "Should I get it soon then?" Crystal said full of excitement. "Maybe." the black mare replied. "Why don't you have Epic Bloom help you find your cutie mark? She has one." Love Bug added. "Oh, that's a good idea! See ya!" Before Love Bug could stop her, she bolted out the door, trotting in the direction of Epic Bloom's home.
Love Bug sighed as she poured milk into her bowl of cereal. She also giggled a little, Crystal was so determined to get her cutie mark, she reminded her of herself when she was a small filly. She too, wanted her cutie mark. She made come coffee and sat down at the table to eat her breakfast. She levitated the spoon to eat the cereal and levitated the cup to drink the coffee. Love Bug had to eat fast, otherwise she would be late for Twilight Sparkle. In about 10 minutes the black and red unicorn had finished her breakfast, and it was time to go. It was about seven o'clock, and Love Bug was supposed to be there soon. So she figured she could get there a little early.
Love Bug got up from the table and walked out the door. She didn't need to bring anything, just herself, Twilight told her. So she wouldn't bring her saddlebag or anything. Like last time, she had to bring paper and a quill because she ran out. Luckily, she did all her shopping yesterday with her assistant, Spike. Spike was the only one in Ponyville who understood her sleeping problem. Well, not the only one, Rainbow Dash understood too. Love Bug appreciated this. Soon, Twilight Sparkle's library came into view. It wasn't a very long walk to her place, being so close to it. She approached the library, which was also Twilight Sparkles home. Love Bug walked up to the door and knocked on it gently. After a few minutes, a purple mare appeared in the doorway.
"Ah, there you are Love Bug! Your a little early. I didn't expect this from you." Twilight said a little surprised. "Please, come in." She gestured a hoof inside of the library. Love Bug nodded and stepped in, still a little bit sleepy. "Sorry to ask you to come so early." Twilight added. "But, we are doing a very special spell today." Love Bugs face lit up. She had a feeling this would be really fun. "Now, today I'm going to turn you into a cat!" Love Bugs face slowly started to fade a little. How would she survive as a cat? "Now, you stand right here, and I'll turn you into a cat. This isn't a very hard spell, but I've always wanted to try it!" Love Bug didn't want to disappoint her friend, so she stood where Twilight Sparkle wanted her to.
The lavender unicorns horn began to glow with magic. Love Bug gulped. Twilight lowered her head so her horn would be pointing at Love Bug. A ball of magic began to form, and it got bigger, and bigger. After it got to a certain size, it blasted at Love Bug. She was encased in a ball of purple magic, undergoing physical changes to change her into a completely different specimen. After about five minutes of this, she fell to the ground, only to land gracefully on her hooves, no, not hooves, paws. She had turned into a red striped black cat.
She tried to talk, but all that came out was a single meow. If Love Bug tried to say more words, all that would come was more meows, and sometimes hisses. "Oh, I don't think this was supposed to happen...." Twilight said looking back at her book titled, "Animal Spells." "Lets see...It says here, you should still be able to talk." Love Bugs face turned to a look of worry. "Don't worry, I'll go to the local library to find the sequel to this book. I never thought I would have to get it. You....just.... I don't know, do cat stuff." Twilight Sparkle ran out the door, all Love Bug could do was reply with a meow.
She knew this day was going to be either a challenge, or a easy relaxing day. Maybe a little bit of both. She couldn't get anything she needed, and she didn't have any magic. More importantly, she couldn't communicate with any pony. If cats had a different way of communicating, Love Bug didn't really understand it. She wandered the library in search of what to do. However, she did find she could jump onto high places in a single leap. She figured this because cats weighed less than ponies. Whenever Love Bug fell, she didn't get injured, cats always landed on their paws.
After Love Bug was done exploring the library, she decided she would go out into Ponyville. She wondered what the other ponies would think of a cat wandering around town. But then she remembered; how could she open the door when she was a lot shorter, and couldn't reach the handle? She spotted a window which was open, which Love Bug could easily leap up on and jump out. So, she did so. Love Bug found herself in Twilight Sparkle's backyard. She had seen cats in backyards roll around in the grass before, so she figured she should try it. Love Bug lied down in the grass and rolled around. It felt relaxing, now she knew why cats loved to do it.
So, she decided to try out some more stuff. It was going to be a long day.
Love Bug trotted out from the garden and into Ponyville. It seemed no pony knew what to think of a random new cat wandering the town. Some stared, others ignored her, and some gave her a friendly pat on the head or petted her. Then something horrible happened. Something that would be hard to escape.
Love Bug was just walking around the town, now that she knew she was welcomed by other ponies. But then she saw the dark blue unicorn filly; Crystal. Epic Bloom was flying beside her, suggesting ways she could help Crystal get her cutie mark. Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle followed closely behind them. They were all happy a filly with a cutie mark was helping them to search for their mark. Especially Scootaloo, since Epic Bloom had a few flying lessons from Rainbow Dash. They all stopped when they saw Love Bug. The problem was, they didn't know it was Love Bug. She would tell them, but she couldn't even talk, only meow.
"A cat? I never noticed this cat before." Epic Bloom said picking it up. Love Bug desperately tried to squirm free from the green pegasi's hold, but she was tightly locked in her arms. "Ah think it doesn't like being held, Epic Bloom." Apple Bloom piped up. "Should we let it go?" Asked Crystal. "Nah. how bout we be....Cutie Mark crusaders pet caretakers?" Scootaloo suggested. The five fillies agreed. "Well, lets go and take care of it!" Sweetie Belle said. "It? Shouldn't we give it a name?" Epic Bloom said patting Love Bugs head. "Well, I guess. How bout....Shadow?" Scootaloo suggested. "But its also red." Crystal replied.
"Oh yeah....how about...um...Red stripe?" The other fillies nodded and they agreed on this name. "Okay, well lets go take care of her! Can we go to your house, Crystal?" Sweetie Belle asked. "Yeah, sure. Love Bug isn't home. Shes with Twilight helping her with a spell." "CUTIE MARK CRUSADER ANIMAL HELPERS!! YAY!!!" They all screamed at the top of their lungs, causing Love Bug, or, well, Red Stripe to them, to flatten her ears back against her head.
"Ah don't think she likes it when we talk loud." Apple Bloom said after seeing Love Bug flatten her ears back. "cutie mark crusaders animal helpers....yay...." They all whispered. They all walked off to Crystal's house, Epic Bloom still holding Love Bug in her arms, and she had given up struggling. She would face whatever they did to her.
The five fillies arrived at Crystals house with Love Bug in their hooves. "I say we give her a bath!" Sweetie Belle suggested. "Don't any of ya know cats don't like water?" Apple Bloom said frustrated. "Well....some cats like it." The white unicorn filly added. "She's got a point." Scootaloo piped up. "Well...Ah guess so..." Apple Bloom gave in.
"Hey, don't I get a say in this?" Crystal added. "Because I think we should see if she likes water. "Well, how are we gonna find out if we don't put her in water?" Epic Bloom said rolling her eyes. "Oh yeah...well, the bath tub is upstairs, lets fill it up and put her in! But don't just throw her in." Crystal said taking Love Bug away from Epic Bloom. The four other fillies followed the blue unicorn upstairs, Love Bug's heart racing. Sure, she could swim, but she would hate getting her fur wet, it would feel weird. But, she couldn't talk, so she would have to be put in the bath.
They all walked into the bathroom, Crystal turning on the water to the bath tub. "Okay, so when this fills up, we need to put Red Stripe in here." She explained. They all nodded their heads in agreement. Soon, the tub was filled with clear water, and they dangled Love Bug over the tub. She wanted to say stop, but what came out was a short meow. Epic Bloom slowley lowered her in the water. She twisted and squirmed, but it was to no avail. Before she knew it, the green pegasus dropped her in. She churned through the water with her paws, wanting to get out. She splashed some water in Epic Blooms face in the process.
"Gah!" She said throwing her green and yellow hair out of the way. Crystal, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo just laughed at her. "Lets add bubbles!" Crystal said picking some soap up. Love Bug's eyes widened. What if she got soap in her eyes? She tried to get out, but it was too slippery. It would be even more slippery when they added soap to the water. Crystal pushed the pump on the soap dispenser and it went in to the water. She repeated this about ten more times. The water now had piles of bubbles everywhere. Except in one corner where Love Bug was taking shelter.
"Oh, come on! Don't you like bubbles?" Scootaloo said putting a pile of bubbles on Love Bug's head. She spat and hissed. She shook her head until the bubbles came off. "Nope." Epic Bloom replied to Scootaloo. "Well, that's just weird, even for a cat. Bubbles do no harm!" Scootaloo said rolling her eyes again. "Cats are weird like that." Sweetie Belle told her simply. "Well, we're done with this!" Crystal said scooping Love Bug/Red Stripe out of the bath tub.
"Hey! We were not done with that!" Scootaloo said trying to grab Love Bug away from the unicorn filly. The cat let out a wheeze. The fillies all went silent. Love Bug thought that would work. "Don't hurt Red Stripe! She's not a toy!" Epic Bloom scolded. As the co leader of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Scootaloo had to listen to Epic Bloom. "Ah say we try to play with her." Apple Bloom suggested after the fight. "Yeah, that's a good idea!" Sweetie Belle agreed. "Opal loves her cat toys. We could borrow some from Rarity's boutique."
"Yeah, but how do you think Opal would like you stealing her toys?" Crystal put in. "We're not 'stealing,' we're just borrowing. We'll bring them back." Sweetie Belle replied. "Well, okay. But if we get all scratched up by Opal, I blame you." The two unicorn fillies shook hooves, agreeing. Apple Bloom, Epic Bloom and Scootaloo all nodded. Meanwhile, Love Bug was soaking wet, a puddle of water forming on the floor. Her black colored coat was matted against her body, and she was shaking, suddenly cold.
"Uh, ah think Red Stripe needs a towel." Apple Bloom said pointing a hoof at Love Bug. Crystal looked at her and quickly nodded her head. "I know where the towls are. I'll get one for her, you all stay here." The blue unicorn walked out into the hall to a small closet, leaving her friends behind. Two minutes passed, and some of them got bored, including Scootaloo. Epic Bloom began to flap her small wings, which were only a little bigger than Scootaloo's. But she could still fly, being a little older, but still a filly like Crystal and the Cutie Mark Crusaders.
"Hey, do you think you could teach me to fly a little? You got a couple lessons from Rainbow Dash." Scootaloo piped up. Epic Bloom blushed. "Well, okay. But I don't know much flying. I got my cutie mark when I preformed my first trick, kind of like when Rainbow Dash was a filly. But it was hard, it won't be like getting lessons from her, but maybe it will prepare you." The green pegusus filly replied. "Okay! Thanks! Do you think I'm old enough?" She anxiously replied. "Well, I don't know. You'll have to ask Rainbow Dash. All pegasi are different." Scootaloo sort of looked up to Epic Bloom as well as Rainbow Dash, considering she had lessons from the fastest flier in Equestria. The orange pegasus filly figured she might be able to take lessons soon too, she was only a tiny bit younger than Epic Bloom.
Crystal walked back in about a minute in a half later, Love Bug in her hooves with a small light pink towel wrapped around her body. "Aw, she looks so cute like that!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed. "Yeah, I know right?" Crystal replied. "I agree. Well, I think we should head over to your house, Sweetie Belle, so we can 'borrow' Opal's cat toys." Epic Bloom said. The four other fillies nodded their heads in agreement. They all walked out the door of the bathroom and down the stairs. Love Bug making a single peep from the towel, it was rather comforting inside the blanket like piece of cloth. The fillies were now walking down the dirt roads of Ponyville, in direction of Rarity's boutique, also known as Carousel Boutique.
Today was Monday, usually the busiest day of the week for the business. How would other ponies react to a cat in the store? Then again, Opal did usually roam around the store, even when costumers were there. Some ponies were truly terrified of Opal though, sometimes the fluffy white cat scratched them. So Rarity had to put Opal in her room sometimes. Love Bug hoped that the other ponies wouldn't think she was like Opal. They would have to take their chances, being with the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Epic Bloom and Crystal would be an adventure, and Love Bug knew that 'borrowing' Opal's cat toys wouldn't turn out very well.
All these thoughts passed the time as the five fillies approached the boutique. Sure enough, many ponies were inside the store, asking Rarity questions about prices, checking out dresses, and just looking around. Rarity looked very overwhelmed, trying to get to every pony at once. The fillies squeezed through the crowd of ponies, looking around for Rarity's room, where Opal's Cat house and toys were. "There's Rarity's room!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed. "Is it the one with the purple door?" Crystal asked. "Yeah! Does any pony else see it?" Sweetie Belle looked at Scootaloo, Apple Bloom, and Epic Bloom. They all nodded their heads.
"Okay, follow me." The white filly gestured a hoof and told them to get on the ground. They all crawled through the crowd, Love Bug stalking along as best she could, like a normal cat. "Looks like she follows us." Epic Bloom whispered. "Yeah." Crystal replied. They were just feet away from Rarity's room now, hoping the unicorn mare who hated ponies going in her room, wouldn't notice. But it looked like Rarity was too busy with a customer to notice the five fillies crawling through her store. They were now at the very front of the door. Sweetie Belle stood up on all four legs and quietly opened the door. The four other fillies crawled inside the room as Sweetie Belle made sure Rarity wasn't watching. After they were all inside, Sweetie Belle closed the door behind them.
"Phew, that was a close one." Crystal said standing up. "Yeah. Lets get some cat toys and get the heck outta here!" Epic Bloom said walking over to Opal's cat tree. Love Bug was still laying down on the floor, she was shocked. She was afraid some pony would step on her. Love Bug wondered what Twilight Sparkle was doing right now, she hoped she found the reversing spell soon. "Hey! This toy looks fun!" Epic Bloom said picking up a stick with a stuffed cloth ball, attached to the stick with yellow string. "Okay. But be careful with that, Rarity made it herself." Sweetie Belle warned her. She nodded her head and walked over to Love Bug.
"Okay, Red Stripe. You wanna play?" Epic Bloom said dangling the ball above her head. Love Bug decided to just go along with it. She grabbed the green ball between both paws and chewed on it. "She likes it!" Apple Bloom said with a smile. "Yeah! This is working! Let me try!" Scootaloo said walking over to Epic Bloom and Love Bug. She took the toy and dangled it over Love Bugs head, doing the same as Epic Bloom did. Love Bug grabbed it with her teeth. "Ha ha! Silly cat!" The orange filly said chuckling. The other fillies laughed too, but then stopped as they looked over at the cat house. "Hey, why did you guys stop--." Scootaloo was cut short as she too started at the cat house in shock.
"Oh....no....I-I'ts OPAL!" Crystal squeaked. "RUN!!" Sweetie Belle screamed. The five fillies ran out of the room, leaving Love Bug behind. Opal leaped on Love Bug, thinking she was a intruder. Love Bug easily kicked her off and caught up with Crystal, Epic Bloom and the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Opal hot on her tail, causing chaos throughout the entire shop. Rarity tried to assure them it was alright, but they just ran around the boutique frantically. "Oh, Sweetie Belle!" the purple haired mare complained upon seeing her younger sibling. "Oh no! We gotta get outta here!" The younger sibling said to her friends. They all nodded their heads and bolted toward the door.
Epic Bloom opened it for them and let them go first. Before Sweetie Belle and her could walk out on their own, Rarity shooed them out, leaving them outside, and locking the door behind her.
They all gasped for air, including Love Bug. She had escaped with Crystal, Scootaloo and Apple Bloom before Opal could pounce on her. Epic Bloom flapped her wings, flying up into the air a few feet. "Well, that wasn't a very good idea." Epic Bloom said pointing a hoof at Sweetie Belle. "I know, I know...." She admitted. "Well, what now?" Crystal asked the others. "Lets take her for a walk!" Scootaloo suggested. "A walk? Don't ya'll know only dogs are supposed to be walked?" Apple Bloom said rolling her eyes at the orange pegasus. "Well, I would wanna try!" She replied. Love Bug's eyes got wide. A walk? That was even weird for Scootaloo, she should know cats shouldn't have a leash on them.
"Ah don't think cats like collars. Let alone leashes." Apple Bloom said. "I saw flea collars and cat name tags at the local pet store." Scootaloo informed the yellow farm filly. "Well, yeah, they have those. Wait, what were ya doin' at the pet store anyways? Ya don't have a pet." She asked. "I get bored, okay? So I went over there." She said as if it was obvious. "Okay....?" Apple Bloom said shrugging. "Anyways, are we going to take Red Stripe for a walk?" Scootaloo asked changing the subject. "Don't ya think ponies would stare at us?" Apple Bloom asked. "Probably. But who cares?" "Ah do!" The yellow filly exclaimed. "We're taking her for a walk!" Scootaloo said. "No we are not!" Apple Bloom argued. Eventually the two girls got into a slap fight.
"Girls, stop!" Sweetie Belle yelled. But they ignored her. She tried getting between the two, but she couldn't. "What do we do?" Crystal asked. "I'm not sure to go get popcorn.....or go get help." Epic Bloom replied. "Popcorn?" Crystal suggested. "No! I was just kidding, silly." Epic Bloom said giving her a play hit on her shoulder. "Well, then what DO we do?" Crystal asked again. "Well, I don't know. How about WE help?" Epic Bloom suggested. "Okay, that might actually work." They both nodded at each other as they approached the two fighting fillies.
"Guys, stop!" Epic Bloom started. Sweetie Belle looked up, but Scootaloo and Apple Bloom were still fighting. "APPLE BLOOM! SCOOTALOO!" Crystal screamed at the top of her lungs. They immediately stopped. "Stop! Fighting!" Crystal said again. "What were we even fighting about?" Scootaloo asked herself. "Ah don't know. That was just silly. So what are we gonna do with Red Stripe now?" Apple Bloom asked them. Love Bug was sitting on the ground, staring up at them. "Hmmmm..." Sweetie Belle put a hoof on her chin. "Feed her something?" She asked. "Well, we can't sneak back in there to get Opal's cat food, imagine how mad she would be if we stole her FOOD." Crystal said.
"We can go to the pet store." Epic Bloom said. "Ah know where one is! We get Winona's dog food there." Apple Bloom told them. "Well, what are we waiting for? Lets go!" Epic Bloom said walking away. The other fillies followed her, Love Bug trotting closely behind.

"Miss? Do you know where the cat food is?" Scootaloo said holding up Love Bug to the ponies face. "Um, in that row over there..." The tan pony at the counter said pointing a hoof at the left row in the store. She was surprised when Scootaloo suddenly put Love Bug in her face. "Okay, thanks." She replied. Her friends giggled about Love Bug scaring the clerk at the counter. "Well, I say we get this kind of food." Epic Bloom said picking out tuna flavored dry cat food. "Ick, tuna?" Scootaloo replied. "Well, cats DO love fish." She implied. "She's right." Apple Bloom added.
"Fine. But I'm just letting you know, some cats are weird and they don't like fish." She informed them. Epic Bloom and Crystal rolled their eyes. "Okay, but how are we gonna buy the cat food? We don't have any bits." Epic Bloom said. "Oh! I think i have some in here." Crystal said reaching into her little bag she had begun to carry around, Love Bug said she needed to be more organized. She pulled out five bits. "I have twenty in here, I've been saving up." Crystal said proudly. "Do you have a job or something?" Sweetie Belle asked with a look of surprise. "No, I do chores." She answered simply. "Oh..." Sweetie Belle said rolling her eyes at herself.
"Well, ya only need five bits to pay for the food." Apple Bloom informed her. "Okay, I have more than enough." The Cutie Mark Crusaders, Epic Bloom and Crystal walked back to the counter. Scootaloo put the bag of cat food on it, and Crystal put the five bits on the counter. The clerk quietly bagged the food while Love Bug watched. She handed Scootaloo the bag after about five minutes. "Thanks!" The orange filly said. The clerk smiled and said "please come again." They walked out of the store with the food, Love Bug following behind. Once They got outside the fillies sat on a nearby bench.
"Okay, since we don't have a bowl or anything, I say we can feed it to her right here." Scootaloo said to them. "Well, okay. I don't see anything wrong with that." Crystal replied. The others nodded in agreement and Scootaloo opened the bag. She reached into the bag and brought out a little bit of the brown kibble bits. "Okay Red Stripe, eat up!" She spoke to the cat. Love Bug had never thought of what cat food would taste like. Before her parents had Crystal, she had owned a cat when she was a filly. She remembered she had to feed him wet food along with the dry for dinner, which was shrimp flavor. She was lucky they weren't feeding her the wet food, as she hated the smell, and it looked disgusting. Love Bug had always said to herself and Crystal, you don't know you don't like it until you try it.
She took a little piece of kibble from Scootaloo's hoof. Love Bug chewed a little, and the horrid taste of fish hit her mouth. Ponies didn't really eat fish, she had never eaten fish before. Frankly, she hated it. She spit all of it out on the ground, using her paw a little to scrape her tongue. She got most of it off, but the taste of it still lingered in her mouth. "See? I told you guys some cats are weird!" Scootaloo said crossing her arms. "Well, if she doesn't eat cat food, what does she eat?" Apple Bloom asked herself. All of them shrugged. "I knew there was something weird about that cat!" Crystal said aloud. "I agree." Epic Bloom added.
"Well, its getting late, should we be heading home?" Sweetie Belle asked them. "Nah, I say we hang out here for a minute." Scootaloo said getting comfortable. Love Bug hoped up on a little spot on the bench. Being a cat meant she was a lot smaller than a pony. She was actually getting used to being a cat, she just hoped Twilight Sparkle would find a cure. It was nearing the end of the day.
The Pony Who was Once a Cat: Chapter Four, and the LAST chapter (Sorry its so short)
"So, what do you wanna do with Red Stripe now?" Epic Bloom asked them. Love Bug couldn't imagine what else they could do with her. They pretty much did everything, played, got into trouble, ran into another cat in the process, and ate cat food. By herself the only thing she did was jump like a cat and roll around in the grass. Maybe it was a good thing the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Epic Bloom and Crystal found her. But it was starting to get late, even though it was still light outside, because it was Summer. The sun wouldn't set tonight until about eight or nine o'clock. It was almost time for dinner right now, Crystal would be having to go home by now, she was expecting Love Bug to be home with dinner!
"Well, I don't know. We've pretty much done everything. I need to get home to Love Bug, shes expecting me to be home by dinner time. See you all tomorrow!" Crystal replied to her friend. They all waved good by. Love Bug couldn't let her get away. She jumped off the bench and followed Crystal. Unfortunately, Crystal noticed the cat following her. "Red Stripe, you can't come home with me!" The unicorn filly scolded. Love Bug made her eyes wide and tried to pout. "No. That cute face isn't going to work! Love Bug is going to be mad at me if I don't get home in time for dinner!" Crystal tried to explain to the cat. If only Love Bug could talk, but when she tried, all she could utter was a meow. The blue unicorn turned to walk away. "Why don't you go to Epic Bloom? She's always wanted a pet. She could take care of you." Crystal suggested. Love Bug held her tail low and walked back over to the bench.
"Oh, you've came back." Epic Bloom said to Love Bug. She just hopped up on the bench and put her chin on her paws. "Yeah, I bet you've had a long day too." The green pegasus said stroking the cat with her hoof. Crystal was now pretty far away by now. As she turned the corner she bumped into a lavender unicorn mare, levitating a book with her horn. Sure enough, it was Twilight Sparkle. "Oh, hello Crystal. Do you know where Love Bug is?" She asked the young filly. "No. In fact, I haven't seen her all day. But you know whats weird? Me, The Cutie Mark Crusaders and Epic Bloom found a cat today!" Crystal said clapping her hooves. "Cat? What did the cat look like?" She questioned. "It was black with red stripes. Why do you ask?" Crystal asked suspiciously. "Because that's Love Bug!" Twilight said with worry.
"Oh, silly. The cat we found isn't Love Bug. We named the cat Red Stripe. Besides, Love Bug is a PONY." Crystal chuckled. Twilight Sparkle rolled her eyes. Take me to Epic Bloom, "Red Stripe" and The Cutie Mark Crusaders!" The lavender unicorn said hastily. "Okay, okay. Follow me." The two unicorns turned some corners and walked along the road. pretty soon they were at the park bench. Love Bug was still there, as well as the other fillies. "You've found Love Bug!" Twilight said with excitement, levitating Love Bug from the park bench. Love Bug was so happy to see her, she just wanted to hug her. "Silly, this isn't Love Bug, this is a stray, and we named her Red Stripe." Sweetie Belle said rolling her eyes. "No, you see, this really IS Love Bug! Here, I'll show you." Twilight pointed her horn at Love Bug. Finally, she would be changed back. There was a bright flash, and when every pony could see again, "Red Stripe," was really now Love Bug once again.
"See? I told you, silly filly." Twilight said proudly. "I was the one who changed her into a cat, but then I realized the reverse spell was in the second book in the series. So I left Love Bug to explore Ponyville for herself as a cat. I see you've found her, and probably got in trouble and went on crazy adventures as always." Twilight said to the fillies. "Its true." Love Bug said, happy to be talking again. "You mean this WHOLE TIME we've been hanging out with Love Bug?" Crystal asked. Twilight Sparkle and Love Bug nodded. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Crystal said running away. "Where is she going?" Scootaloo asked, looking at Epic Bloom. "I don't know, but you get used to it." She replied. Scootaloo turned to Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle. They also nodded. "Yeah, well, I'm just happy this is all over." Love Bug said.
They all laughed as they all waved good by to each other. "Well, that certainly was an....interesting day."
