> Power Ponies: Appreciating Humdrum > by Dante24 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The heroes of Maretropolis, The Power Ponies, has just saved the city again from a villain called, Dark Armor. His plan was to release a deadly toxin over the city, thankfully the Power Ponies fought him off and thwarted his plans. After the battle, the team were greeted with cheers from the citizens; all except for one member. Humdrum, AKA Spike, was not only the only male member of the team, but he was also the only one who didn’t have any powers. Even though he was lacking in the powers department, he was extremely smart with computers, In fact, while the girls fought off Dark Armor, they distracted him long enough for Spike to climb to the top of the city’s tallest building and hack the tower’s computer; shutting down the operation and preventing the toxin from being released. Spike had exited the building and saw his friends being surrounded and praised by the people. He tried to make it over to them, but was stopped by the police. He tried to tell them that he was part of the team, but was told to go home. This was nothing new. Every time after they save the city from destruction, Spike finds himself being left out of the loop. Most people just see him as someone playing pretend each time the Power Ponies leap into action. Most don’t even believe him when he says he part of the team. At one point, he was threaten with being arrested when he tried to attend a ceremony in Central Park which unveiled a giant statue in the team’s honor. Spike had left to change into his civilian clothes and entered the park; only to be dishearten once he saw that the statute only had the six girls. He left soon after. **************************** That evening, Spike walked into Pony Manor, a giant mansion located on a small island just outside of the city and the Power Ponies home and base of operations. After changing out of his costume, Spike flopped onto the bed and turned on the TV. Channel after channel was just news reports about how the Power Ponies saved the city by stopping Dark Armor and his tower holding the deadly toxin. This was only half true. While yes, the girls stopped Dark Armor, Spike was the one who hacked the tower. Hearing each news report not even mention Humdrum caused Spike to just turn off the TV altogether. Staring at the ceiling, Spike started to question what’s the point in being on the team if no one cares to acknowledge the work you put into it. *knock* *knock* *knock* “Spike, you in there?” came a voice. “I’m coming in.” The door opened to reveal Twilight, AKA Masked Matter-Horn; leader of the team. Still in her costume, save for her mask she removed. “I just wanted to tell you that you did great out there. Because of you, the city was saved.” “Uh-huh.” he said; uninterested in what she was saying. “Spike, is something wrong?” she asked with concern. “No, just tired.” he answered as he rolled to his side; his back facing her. “Well, it was a very eventful day today.” she said with a light chuckle. “You rest up and i’ll call you for dinner.” Spike said nothing as Twilight slowly closed the door; leaving him alone to his thoughts. **************************** The next day after school, Spike went over to his locker to grab a few things before leaving for the day. He could hear the murmurs of the other students, mostly the male students, going on about how close he was to the six most popular girls in school, and that they didn’t like it. After packing his backpack, Spike headed towards the exit; a group of jocks following behind him. He rolled his eyes knowing what they were after. They wanted to “teach him a lesson” on why he shouldn't be anywhere near Twilight or the other girls. They were too good for a loser like him. “If they only knew.” Spike thought to himself as he exited the building. The jocks soon followed; only to find out that Spike had disappeared. They quickly scattered in hopes of finding him, not knowing that he was actually floating above them on a cloud. Three seconds after he walked outside, Rainbow Dash flew in and scooped Spike up to get him away from the jocks. The two of them looked at each other and shared a quick laugh before Rainbow took of with him to land where no one can see them. “Thanks for the help, Rainbow.” Spike said. “No problem, squirt.” she said as she wrapped an arm around his neck. She giggled once she heard him groan after being called, squirt. That was her little nickname for him after he officially joined the group, and he gets annoyed by it every time. The two of them decided to take a quick trip to their favorite arcade before heading home, however, that plan would soon be shot down. Just up ahead of them, they saw people running for their lives while out of nowhere, a police car was flying through the air and crashed into a building; blowing up on impact. “We should check it out.” Spike said. Rainbow nodded and the two started running off towards the action. Turning the corner, they saw cops hiding behind their cars and opening fire upon three muscle bound men whose skin were bullet proof. “Hey, isn’t that......?” Spike started. “The Diamond Dogs.” Rainbow finished. “Bastards are at it again, huh? Spike, follow me.” Rainbow grabbed Spike’s arm, and ran with him to a nearby alley. After looking around to make sure no one followed, Rainbow turned to Spike and took off her backpack. “You got your suit?” she asked. “Yeah, always.” he answered. “Then, let’s suit up.” Rainbow said. “W-w-wait......you mean here?” he asked in shock. “Get over it, Spike.” Rainbow groan; being slightly annoyed by Spike’s reaction. “You’ve already seen me in my underwear before, now suit up!” **************************** Rover, Fido, and Spot, also known as, The Diamond Dog, are a trio of superpowered villains who are C-list at best. Their goal is to cause as much criminal damage as possible; doesn’t matter who get hurt in the process. While they were having the time of their lives, Spike and Raibow landed right in front of them. “Hold it right there!” Rainbow announced. “T-The Power Ponies?!” yelled Spot. “What do we do, boss?” asked Fido. “What do you think, dumbass? Crush them!” Rover yelled. All three men charged at the two with Rainbow cracking her knuckles. “Spike, you get the big guy, and the other two are mine.” said Rainbow as she powered up. “With pleasure.” Spike pulled out a small stick with quickly extended on both ends; turning it into a Bo staff. Rainbow raised her hand up into the air and caused a dark lightning cloud to form. From that cloud, a silver hammer fell down from it and into her possession. In one move, Rainbow threw the hammer hitting the leader of the Diamond Dogs, Rover, in the face and sending him flying. With him out the way, Rainbow charged at Spot; hitting him with a huge uppercut that sent him flying upwards in the air. Rainbow quickly flew after him, grabbing him by the leg, then throwing him into the street. While that was going on, “the big guy”, Fido, charged at Spike who leapt in the air and landed behind him. Fido quickly turned around and threw a punch to which Spike blocked with his staff. Spike continued to block the oncoming onslaught of Fido’s fist with his staff until he saw an opening. Acting quickly, Spike swung his staff and hit Fido in the legs; causing him to lose balance. Spike twirled his staff around to build momentum before hitting Fido in the face; sending him flying into an already destroyed police cruiser. Fido soon emerged from the wreckage as if nothing happened and started to charged once again at Spike, who reached into his back belt pocket and pulled out three metal balls that were all hooked together with ropes, otherwise known as bolas. Spinning it around, Spike threw it at Fido. The weapon hit the diamond dog in the legs, wrapping itself around them, and sending him to the ground. Spike walked up to the man, breaking his staff in half and pressing hidden button on them; turning them into baton stun guns. He jammed them into Fido’s back and shocked him until he passed out. Looking up, Spike saw Rainbow Dash walking towards him with the other two Diamond Dogs over her shoulders. “Good job, Humdrum.” she said as she dropped them on top of Fido. “We’ll let the police take it from here.” Before anything else could be said, the two of them were met with applause from the citizens who witnessed the fight. They came running to show their appreciation by surrounding Rainbow Dash; unceremoniously knocking Spike out of the way as they did so. As Spike rose up and began to put his weapon away, he was approached by two cops. At first he thought they were going to thank him for his services, but the looks on their faces said otherwise. “What the hell do you think you were doing?!” one of them said. “Those were REAL superpowered criminals! One wrong move, and you would’ve have been killed!” “Hey, i’ve heard of you.” said the second officer. “You’re that kid who dresses up and pretends to be a member of the Power Ponies.” “I AM a member of the Power Ponies!” Spike stated. “Heh, yeah right, you don’t even have powers.” the second officer laughed. “You don’t need powers to be a hero.” Spike said. “Yeah, right, keep telling yourself that.” the second officer replied. “Look, this is your first and only warning, give up on this farce, otherwise i’ll arrest you for impersonating an actual hero.” the first officer said as both he and his partner left to greet Rainbow Dash. Looking at the ground, Spike felt anger and humiliation. So what if he didn’t have powers like every other hero on the planet, it doesn’t mean he’s any less heroic. After seeing the attention Rainbow Dash was getting, Spike left the scene; without anyone noticing. **************************** Back at the mansion, Spike sat in the living room watching the large 2500in TV. There was news coverage of the fight with the Diamond Dogs that happened earlier that day, and of course, they only focused on Rainbow Dash; completely ignoring his role in the fight. In fact, they made it seem like Rainbow single handedly took down all three of the Diamond Dogs; which wasn’t true. Everything that was being said on the TV plus that police officer’s words replaying in his head over and over caused Spike to yell out in frustration and throw the remote at the TV. He didn’t break it, but it did shut off at the impact. Raising from his seat, Spike made his way into the kitchen to get dinner ready. Maybe some cooking would get his mind off of what he saw on the news. “Spike?” came a soft voice. “Is everything okay?” Spike knew who it was. It was Fluttershy, but he didn’t turn around to face her; seeing as how he was filling up a pot of water to boil. “Yeah, everything fine.” he answered. “What’s up.” “W-well, there’s gonna be a gathering at the mayor’s office tomorrow, and she wants the entire team to come.” she explained. “What for?” Spike asked. “Twilight said something about getting the “keys to the city” or something.” she answered. “Oh.....okay, thanks.” Spike said as he placed the pot on top of the stove. Fluttershy, seeing he was busy, decided to leave him alone; not believing for one second that everything was “fine". Little did Spike know, Fluttershy actually witnessed him throwing the remote at the TV, she just didn’t know why. Fluttershy traveled to the game room where the other girls were. “Hey, did you tell Spike?” asked Rainbow. “Yes, but......well......” she said. “Well, what, darling?” asked Rarity. “Spike, seemed upset about something.” she answered. “I saw him yell at the TV then throw the remote at it.” “That's nothing new." said Pinkie Pie. "The past few months he seemed to be upset about something, but each time I try to confront him about it, he says it’s nothing.” “Any idea what he was watchin’?” asked Applejack. “He was watching the news.” Fluttershy answered. “They were saying something about a downtown event that happened earlier.” “OH, THAT MUST BE IT!” yelled Rainbow. “Spike and me took on the Diamond Dogs some time after school, but I didn’t see him afterwards. I figured he surround by the people like I was.” “We should talk to him and find out what’s been troubling him the past few months.” Twilight suggested. “I doubt he’s actually gonna tell us.” Rainbow replied. “Then we keep pressing the issue till he cracks.” said Twilight as she started to exit the game room. The six girls traveled to the kitchen where they saw Spike cutting up some spring onions. The smell of whatever he was cooking filled the room; causing the girls to almost forget why they were coming to talk to him in the first place. Strengthening their resolve, the girls pushed aside their desire for Spike’s cooking and confronted him. “Oh, hey girls.” he said with a smile. “Dinner will be ready in an hour.” “That’s not why we’re here, Spike.” Twilight said. with concern. “Is the city in trouble again?” he asked. “No, it’s about you.” she answered; causing Spike’s heart to skip a beat. “Spike, is something wrong?” “N-no, nothings wrong, why?” he asked nervously. “Spikey, for the past few months you’ve been......how do I say it......"distant” from us.” said Rarity. “We know that you’re upset about something so why not talk to us about it?” “I.....I told you.....it’s nothing.” Spike said while looking away. “It’s not nothing, Spike.” Pinkie spoke up. “Fluttershy saw you throwing the remote control at the TV earlier.” Spike froze as he felt a small stream of sweat slide down the side of his head, and it wasn’t from the stove. Spike had been avoiding this topic for months now, but now that his friends are all confronting him on it, there was no way out. Sure, he could run away, but that wouldn’t help. Pinkie would catch him before he took one step in the wrong direction or Twilight would just simply freeze his legs in place. Looking up at his friends, he saw them closing in on him; almost as if they were anticipating him to try and make a break for it. There was no escape for him. Spike sighed heavily and was about to speak up when suddenly the alarm went off. “Looks like there’s trouble in the city, we better get moving.” Spike said as he went to turn off the stove. “Don’t think this conversation is over, mister.” Twilight said sternly before leaving with the girls to get changed. “Saved by the bell.” Spike thought as he put the tray in the oven at a very low temperature; cooking slowly until they came back. **************************** The next day after school, Spike was contemplating on whether he should meet up with the girls at the usual hang out spot so they can travel to the mayor’s office together or simply head home and skip it all together. Either way, the girls would just confront him later. Last night after they saved the city from a giant mutant, Spike quickly ran home as they were being surround by the public, took the food out of the oven, and headed to bed just as the girls made it back. Then early this morning, Spike got up an hour earlier than normal and headed to school before the girls woke up. He’s been avoiding them so far, but knew this couldn’t keep up. He thought maybe he should just tell them what the problem is. That he feels under appreciated for all the work he does to protect the city. Part of him wanted to, but then the other part started to think that if told the girls, they’d think he was just being petty and childish. While Spike was deep in thought, he saw that the police blocked off part of a street while people gathered all around. “Get back!” one of the cops yelled. “I said get back!” Spike walked up to the scene and saw other cops hiding behind their cars with their guns drawn. “Hey, what’s going on?” he asked a random man. “Three men wearing masked just took hostages within that bank.” the man explained. “Someone needs to help those poor people.” Spike looked over at the scene before him and knew something had to be done. Slipping away, he ran into a dark alley and quickly change into his costume. He climbed to the roof of a nearby building and ran across many rooftops; avoiding being seen by the public until he made it to the roof of the bank. After locating a ventilation shaft, Spike removed the cover and began to crawl his way through; being extra careful as to not make a sound. Soon Spike made it to the front lobby and saw the robbers. One of them grabbed a little girl from her mother, and walked to the door with a gun pointed to her head. He had demanded that he and his partners have a getaway car or else they’ll kill everyone. Spike quickly annalize the situation and thought it would be best to go after one of the other robbers instead of the one with the hostage. One wrong move and the gun could go off; killing the little girl. Looking over at the other two, he saw one had an assault rifle and the other had a linoleum knife. The two of them were pretty far apart from one another which would give Spike enough time to save the hostage if this was planned right. Very slowly and carefully, Spike traveled to the nearest cover which was right over his target’s head. He quietly removed the cover, took aim and pounced on top of the robber with assault rifle. Standing on the guy’s head, Spike quickly pulled out a kunai knife and threw at the first robber; knocking the gun out his hand and freeing the little girl. Spike then threw his bola; strapping the man’s hand to the door before he could retrieve his weapon. Looking out the corner of his eye, the third robber with the knife charged at Spike who grabbed his stick and turned it into a bo staff. With a single swing, Spike knocked the knife out of the guy’s hand and into the air, then using some impressive combo moves, Spike knocked him all the way to the other side of the room; knocking him out cold. Without even looking, Spike stuck out his left hand and caught the linoleum knife. Turning around, he threw it at the second robber who was going for his rifle; piercing his hand. While he screamed out in pain, Spike broke his staff in half, turning them into baton stun guns, then ran up to the guy and shocked the crap out of; knocking him out. “YOU SON OF A BITCH!” yelled the first robber. “WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU, I’M GONNA.............!” Spike went over to the man and shocked him unconscious. “Is everybody alright?” he asked as he turned to the hostages. To his shock, he was met with angry gazes. “What were you thinking?!” yelled the mother of the child. “You could’ve gotten my daughter killed! You could have gotten ALL of us killed!” “Yeah, this was a serious situation, not some game!” yelled a man. “You should have just let the police or someone with ACTUAL powers handle the situation!” yelled a woman. Spike couldn’t believe this. He saved these people and is now being berated by them for doing so. He put his life on the line for them and they attack him for not having powers. All of the hostages stood up and continued to yell and curse at their savior while the police were making their way inside. Unable to take anymore, Spike reached into his back pocket and pulled out a couple smoke balls. Throwing them on the floor caused them to explode and a huge puff of smoke filled the room. Once it settled, Spike was nowhere to be seen. The cops stormed the building to find all three robbers beaten and knocked out and the hostages without a scratch. As they were set free, the crowd of people cheered the police as if they were the ones who rescued them; all while Spike watched on from a far away distance. Gripping his weapons hard in anger, he turned and walked away. **************************** It was evening when Spike saw a large group of people starting to gather in the streets. It was then he realized that he was close to the mayor’s office. He remembered Fluttershy, saying that the team was invited to accept some kind of award for their services to the city. Correction.......the girl’s services to the city. Spike wasn’t even a thought in anyone’s mind. He was about to walk away when his phone started vibrating. He’d received a text message from Fluttershy, telling him to suit up and meet everyone at the mayor’s office. Spike didn’t reply. Instead, he put his phone back in his pocket and walked off. Why should he go? It’s not like anyone will believe he’s part of team anyway. Not to mention, some of the cops he saw there were the ones who said they’d arrest him if they saw him. Spike’s phone started vibrating again. This time it was a text from Pinkie, wanting to know where he was. Again, he didn’t answer. As he walked, he could hear people talking about the Power Ponies and how they were on their way to the mayor’s office; some couldn’t wait to see them. He soon heard someone mentioning him, but it was the same thing he’d heard before. He’s no “REAL” hero because he has no powers. At this point, Spike received another text message; this time from Twilight, which caused him to stop dead in his tracks. The text was in all caps and bolden. Basically, it said that if Spike doesn’t suit up and meet the girls right this second, she was gonna hunt him down. There were many things in this world Spike would gladly face off against.......a pissed off Twilight, was NOT one of them. Sneaking into a nearby alley, Spike changed into his costume once again. **************************** The sun was nearly visible when Spike made it to the roof of the building across from the mayor’s office. Standing in front of him were his teammates. “I’m here.” he said. “Where were you, Spike?” Fluttershy asked concerningly. “Oh, you know, around.” he answered; not wanting to tell them about the bank. “Well anyway, we better see what the mayor has for us.” said Rainbow. Before any of them could go forward, Rarity noticed a woman being followed by a stranger. “Look over there.” she pointed. “We have trouble.” Everyone looked over at where Rarity was pointing and saw the stranger closing in on the unsuspecting woman. “I’ll take care of it.” Spike suggested. Without giving the girls a chance to respond, he’d already left. Spike had no idea why he was doing this. He knew how it would end. He saves her, then get berated for not having superpowers. Maybe it was a reflex. “Whatever, let’s get this over with.” he thought as he ran across rooftops to catch up to them. On the ground, once the stranger got close enough, he grabbed the woman’s purse and started to make a break for it. Before she could scream for help, Spike landed on top of the guy, threw him up against a light pole, and strapped him there using his bolas. Grabbing some smoke balls, Spike threw them on the ground and disappeared within the smoke before the woman could tell him anything. Spike soon made it back only to witness the girls landing next to the mayor on the steps of city hall with the crowd of people cheering them on. Spike was very hesitant to go down there, but noticed Applejack waving at him; calling him to come over. As the mayor stepped up to the microphone to give her speech, Spike took this time to leap from the building and land in the street. Taking a deep breath, Spike started to make his way towards his friends. “HEY!” yelled a voice. “Shit.” Spike thought as he looked over his shoulder. He the cop from yesterday was speed walking towards him, he wasn’t happy. “I warned you to to give up this farce.” he said angrily. “Look, I don’t have time for this. I don't care if you believe me or not, but my friends are waiting for me.” Spike said as he turned around to leave. He didn't even get the chance to take one step because the cop grabbed him by the shoulder and squeezed it hard. “You’re under arrest.” he said. “For what?!” Spike said in shock. “Impersonating a hero and trespassing.” the cop answered. Before Spike knew it, four other cops a ganged up on him and wrestled him to the ground. “H-hey, LET ME GO!” he yelled. “I TOLD YOU GUYS, I’M PART OF THE TEAM!” “Shut up!” yelled one cop while another grabbed Spike’s left arm and tried to pull it back. Spike yelled out in pain causing another cop hold his head down with his foot. “STOP RESISTING!” **************************** The mayor had just finished giving her speech and was about to present the girls with an award when Fluttershy noticed something happening in the crowd. “What’s going on over there?” she asked. “What’cha mean?” Applejack asked while looking in the same direction. “Hmm, looks like some cops er takin’ down some trouble maker.” The two girls watched as one of the cops pulled out a taser and shocked the suspect; causing him to scream out. That scream was one the two instantly recognized and when one of the cops moved took a step out of the way, Applejack’s heart nearly stopped while Fluttershy’s anger rose once they saw who was being attacked. With her eyes turning red, Fluttershy started to bulk up into a hulk-like creature releasing a very loud roar; catching everyone’s attention. “Saddle Rager, what’s.......” Twilight didn’t even finish that sentence once she saw Spike being man handled by the cops. “HUMDRUM!” she screamed as Fluttershy leapt into action. *BOOM* Fluttershy landed next to the cops, grabbed one of them and threw him into another county letting out another roar; much to the crowds horror. The other girls soon arrived on scene and saw their friend on the ground bruised up and grabbing his left arm. “HUMDRUM!” they all yelled with Rarity kneeling next to him and putting his head in her lap. Dark thunder clouds started to form as Rainbow’s anger went through the roof. “Give me one good reason why I should shock you into oblivion.” she growled. “W-wait, I can explained.” said the cop. “Every time, you girls are out fighting crime, there he is. He claims to be a Power Pony, but we all know that’s a load of crap.” “How is THAT a load of crap?” Rainbow angrily asked. “B-because.......well look at him, he’s no real hero, he has no powers.” he answered. “How can anyone like that call himself a hero.” That statement angered the girls to no end, but what was really disturbing were the amount of people agreeing with the officer. Rainbow dash was about to unleash hell on him, but Twilight stopped her by placing a hand on her shoulder. Stepping forward to confront the officer and his supporters, Twilight kept her anger in check when she spoke. “So you think that just because Humdrum doesn’t have powers he’s not a “real” hero? Is that what you, all of you think?” The cop nodded along with many people in the crowd. Twilight took a deep breath before speaking once again. “You have no idea what you’re talking about. Humdrum has fought against superpower being the likes of which you’ve never seen. He’s fought alongside us in battles that would decide the fate of the planet, and not once, NOT ONCE, did he let the fact that he had no powers stop him. He found ways around that handicap and managed to come out on top. He’s helped saved this city more time than anyone here can count.” “No he hasn’t.” yelled someone from the crowd. “What about yesterday when you girls defeated Dark Armor? He was no where to be found. He just shows up after every battle and tries to take credit.” “Do y’all know what he was doin’ while we were fightin’ Dark Armor?” Applejack jumped. “He hacked Dark Armor’s tower that would have released a deadly toxin across the city.” “Yeah, and earlier today both he and I took on the Diamond Dogs.” Rainbow said; joining in as well. “He went head to head against their strongest member and took him down without a sweat.” “We’ve asked Humdrum to join our team because we each saw something within him.” Rarity said with tears starting to form. “And everyday when we fight for this city he exceeds all our expectations and out does himself! HOW DARE YOU STAND THERE AND BELITTLE EVERYTHING HE’S DONE TO KEEP YOU ALL SAFE!” Right after Rarity said that, it quickly dawn upon her why Spike was upset. The others soon realized it as well. The people belittles and berates him for not having powers. Come to find out, in all of the news reports and events held in their honor, not once was Spike even there. He wasn’t even a part of the statue of the team that was built in the park. All six girls felt their hearts sink for not realizing this sooner. Applejack, Rainbow, and Twilight all turned away and went to Spike; being extremely careful as to not hurt him while they helped him to his feet. “Saddle Rager, take him home." said Twilight. Fluttershy carefully picked Spike up and took off into the sky. “Girls?” ask the mayor as she took a couple steps towards them. “Mayor, what was it you were going to give us?” Twilight asked without looking at her. “I-it......it was a large custom made golden key to represent the “Key to the City”. she explained. “It has all of your names engraved on it.” “Is Humdrum’s name on it?” Twilight asked sternly while the mayor kept quiet. “Is it?” The mayor lowered her head. “N-no. He......wasn't even a thought in my mind while have it made." “Let’s go girls.” Twilight said; still without looking at the mayor or the people. As the girls started to walk away, someone from the crowd called out to them. “Power Ponies, wait! Does this mean you won’t protect the city anymore?! Are you going to abandon us?!” The girls stopped walking with Twilight turning around and facing the crowd of people. “We’ll never abandon the city. That’s not who we are.” After turning back to her friends, Rarity encased them all in a giant purple bubble, and flew off with them; leaving the mayor and the people of Maretropolis alone. > Chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spike awoke the next day with bandages wrapped around his head, torso and left shoulder; unable to move. That’s because Twilight and Rainbow Dash had wrapped themselves around him. Twilight slowly opened her eyes once she felt Spike squirming under her. “S-Spike?” Twilight said softly as she rose up a bit. “Spike, are you okay? You’re not in any pain are you?” “I’m fine, Twi.” he answered. “A little sore, but fine.” Twilight gave Spike a soft smile which quick faded away. “Spike, why didn’t you tell us? Why did you feel you had to keep this to yourself?” Spike knew what she was talking about. He really didn't want to talk about it, but knew Twilight wasn't going to let it go until he comes clean. Oh well, time to get this over with. “I.......I thought that if I did, you guys would think I was being, petty.” he admitted. “What? Why would you think that?” she asked. “Well........whenever we’re out saving the day, you guys never asked to be thanked, or to be given some kind of appreciation award. You do it because it’s the right thing to do.” he explained. “So.....I thought that if I said something then........” “We’d think you were acting like a petty, selfish child.” Rainbow said while keeping her head down and eyes close. “That’s what you thought, right?” Spike nodded. “Spike, you know we would never think that of you.” Twilight said while nuzzling against his neck. “Ever since you’ve joined us three years ago, you’ve become more than just a part of this team. You’re a part of this family. And even if the public doesn’t appreciate you, we sure as hell do.” Twilight finished by giving Spike a small peck on the cheek; causing him to blush a bit. “But you know Twilight, this is kind of our fault too.” Rainbow said with a bit of sadness. “I mean, the signs were there and we didn’t pick up on it.” “Rainbow.” Spike said softly. “She’s right, Spike.” Twilight added. “We should have noticed ever since they put up that giant statue of us, but instead, we went on like nothing was wrong. I can’t believe we let our egos blind us to what was going on. We should have been better than that.” Twilight grabbed Spike’s hand and gave it a light squeeze while Rainbow held onto him a bit tighter. “But it’s true.” he said. “If I did talk about it with you girls about it, then it would come off as being petty and selfish. I mean, when I first joined this team, all I really wanted to do was make a difference, but.......well.......it all changed. I’ve even thought about quitting the team from time to time.” Both Twilight and Rainbow sat up and stared at Spike after hearing what he just said. Was he serious? Was he really thinking about leaving if things continued on this way? “NO!” Rainbow yelled. “You can’t quit! If you do, I’ll kick your ass!” “I didn’t say I was quitting, I said I was thinking about it.” Spike defended. “But why?!” she asked. “I was thinking that I should take some time away from all this to really figure out why I joined in the first place.” he explained. “I mean, did I join because I wanted praise, or did I do it just to make a difference?” “Well, isn’t obvious?!” Rainbow yelled. “You did it to make a difference. Look at all the times we’ve saved the city, you’re normally the first one to come up with a plan to take down the bad guys. Every superpowered being we went up against, you’ve faced them head on because you knew it was the right thing to do!” Spike noticed tears starting to form in Rainbow’s eyes. She made it evident that she didn’t want him to leave. Also, she did have a point, when he joined up he didn’t care about getting praise from the public, he only cared about keeping people safe from danger. Putting his life on the line in the face of danger so that others may live, that’s what he’s been doing for the past three years, but then, he started to see that the people only cared about those who have superpowers. In their minds, you’re only a hero if you have things like super strength, super speed, etc. Anything less and you’re just a pretender. “Spike.” Twilight spoke up. “I understand why you’re thinking about leaving, but you can’t.” She placed her hand over Spike’s; squeezing tightly before speaking again. “You’re an important part of this team. You’re the glue that holds us together. Remember, Chasm, and how he turned us all against each other?” “Chasm, The Master of Chaos? How could I forget?” Spike answered. “He nearly took over everything, by brainwashing you girls into hating each other.” “But because of you, he didn’t.” she continued. “Spike, you were the one to break through his spell and bring us all back together. You saved not only the city, but us as well.” “And what about when Mane-iac zapped all our powers away with her ray gun?” Rainbow chimed in. “You were the one who kept the city safe while we searched for her.” “And after we found her, you managed to reverse what she did to us.” Twilight said while holding up Spike’s hand. “Spike, you’ve accomplished so much, don’t let them take that away from you.” “Twilight’s right.” came a voice. All three turned towards the bedroom door to see Applejack and the rest of the girls standing there; still in their pajamas. “Especially after y’all saved a group of people from a bank heist.” “He what?!” Twilight said in shock. “It’s all over the news.” said Fluttershy. “Earlier before we met at the Mayor’s office, three men tried to rob the bank. The police are saying they saw someone fight off the robbers and save the hostages, but he vanished in a puff of smoke before they could get to him." "It's obvious Spike was the one who saved all those people." said Pinkie. “Only to get berated afterwards for not having any powers.” Spike growled as he lowered his head; remembering all the things that was said to him. Rarity walked over to the left side of his bed and sat next to him. Putting her arms around his neck, she held him close and gave him a small peck on the cheek. He slowly lifted his head back up see all the girls in bed with him. Spike blushed as he realized the position he was in. There he was, in his room with not only six of the most popular, but the most beautiful girls in school in bed with him. This is what all the guys at school would dream about. Hell, who wouldn’t? Spike’s face started to redden a bit once he felt Pinkie, to his right, gently wrap her arms around him and rest her head against his shoulder. “Spike, you’re the bravest, most badass person I know, you don’t need powers.” Pinkie said. “And if they can’t see that, well, that’s on them.” “Pinkie’s right, you don’t need to prove anything to anybody, Spike.” said Rainbow. “We know how awesome you are. So please, don’t leave.” “They don’t decide on whether or not you’re a hero, Spike, you do." Rarity said as Rainbow, Twilight, Applejack, and Fluttershy all moved in closer to Spike; causing the blush on his face to darken a bit. Before he knew it, he was right in the middle of a group hug. A hug that caused him to fall backwards; bringing the six girls on top of him. Each one of the girls shifted their bodies as to not cause Spike any discomfort. He was still injured after all. Twilight moved to lay her forehead against Spike’s; unintentionally grinding her hips against his. The feeling of the girls’ soft skin on his combined with Twilight’s movements caused Spike’s shorts to get a bit uncomfortably tight. Spike could feel his male instincts rising up inside of him; telling him to capitalize on the situation. He didn’t want to. He didn’t want to take advantage of his friends like that, but the feeling was too strong to resist. Spike slowly managed to raise his right hand and gently placed over Twilight’s back; slowly moving it downward towards her perfectly round rear. “What the hell am I doing?!” he thought to himself; stopping his hand right at her waist. “I can’t do this. I can’t take advantage of my friends like this!” “Spike, is something wrong?” asked Twilight as she lifted her head to face him. “You’re not in any pain are you?” “No, not at at all.” he answered nervously. Twilight smiled and went to lay her head back on top of his; once again unintentionally grinding against him. This time, Twilight shot her head up as she felt something hard poke against her. Looking down, she saw Spike’s redden face as he tried to not make eye contact. Her eyes widen a bit as a light blush started to appear on her face. “Um, Spike?” she said. *BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* Before she could say anything else, the alarm had gone off signaling that the city was in trouble. “Alright girls, let’s suit up.” Twilight announced. As everyone got up and prepared to move out, Twilight pushed Spike back down. “Not you, mister. You’re still injured.” she said. Each of the girls gave Spike a hug and a small peck on the cheek before leaving. Twilight was the last one to do so. “Spike?” she said as she started blushing. “W-we’ll talk about that later.” Spike had no idea what she was talking about until he looked down and saw that his little buddy was sticking straight up in his shorts. “GAH!” he yelled as he quickly covered up. Twilight giggled and gave one last peck on the cheek before leaving to go out on the field. “I can’t believe that just happened.” Spike thought as he stared at the ceiling. **************************** Three hours had passed since the girls left and Spike was starting to wonder what was taking them so long. “They must be at some kind of celebration or something.” he thought as he reached for the remote. Turning on the tv, the first thing Spike saw was a news reporter in a state of panic while explosions were happening behind him. He turned up the volume to hear what was going on. “It’s pandemonium out here! Three of the Power Ponies are in a heated battle against Dark Armor!” “Three?” said Spike as he watched on. “Dark Armor has taken out half the team! We have no idea how he’s doing it, but the Power Ponies can’t seem to keep up with him!” *BOOM* “OH MY GOD, RUN!” The camera was shaking violently as the reporter and the camera man ran for their lives as something close to them was happening. The sounds of screaming civilians could be heard before it cut back to the studio. The two reporters tried to keep their composer as the look of unadulterated shock was worn on their faces. Spike, scared for his friends, decided to hell with his injuries and leapt out of bed. It was time to suit up. **************************** In the middle of downtown Maretropolis, Twilight, Rarity, and Applejack, stood in front of Dark Armor; preparing for the next round. Dark Armor’s armor was a black and red metal that looked like something straight out of a fantasy novel. The three girls were barely able to stand after fighting him for three rounds. The way he moved, dodged, and countered their attacks was as if he knew what they were going to do before they did anything. “D-dammit.” Applejack panted. “Nothin’ we do affects him.” “There’s gotta be a weak point on his armor somewhere.” said Twilight. “We can’t give up.” Dark Armor taunted the girls by laughing loud and hard; preparing for his next attack. The girls braced themselves as he charged at them. After leaping in the air, he came down with both hands locked together ready to hammer the girls into the ground. Rarity used her ring to put up a barrier to block the attack, however, Dark Armor’s was powerful enough to shatter it. Landing in front of the girls, he grabbed Applejack and threw her into a police cruiser. He then turned his gaze towards Rarity who used her ring to encase him within a bubble. With a single punch, he broke through then blasted Rarity with an energy beam that mimicked her own; sending her flying off. With his back turned towards her, Twilight shot him with a powerful ice beam. Half his armor was frozen in ice, but that didn’t stop him from hitting Twilight with the back of his hand; sending her up into the air. He quickly grabbed her leg then slammed her down before throwing her into a nearby building. Dark Armor started to make his way towards her when he was suddenly hit from behind with a lightening bolt. He turned around to see Rainbow Dash panting heavily and barely able to stand up. Dark Armor didn’t say anything as he raised his hand and fired black lightening at her; sending her flying into light pole. Dark Armor soon looked up into the sky as a dark shadow appeared over him. He saw the hulked out Fluttershy coming down on top of him with a powerful fist. To her and everyone’s shock, Dark Armor caught her fist then flipped her over his shoulder; slamming her into the ground on her back. Fluttershy roared as she quickly grabbed hold of him and threw him down the street. Dark Armor quickly recovered but was soon attacked by a pink and white blur. He chuckled as the blur continued hitting him from all sides until he countered by cutting it in the leg. Pinkie yelled out in pain as her speed came an end. She fell face first to the ground and rolled a few feet before coming to an end. With Pinkie down, Dark Armor could now focus on Fluttershy who was running towards him at full speed. He countered by running towards her at the exact same speed, and in one move, he clothesline her; sending her onto her back and knocking her out. Fluttershy reverted back to her normal size a few seconds later. Dark Armor was soon wrapped with a golden lasso to be kept in place while he was being hit with a barrage of ice daggers. Twilight and Applejack had recovered enough to continue the fight, but Dark Armor managed to overpower them by grabbing the lasso and pulling Applejack towards him. In one move, he threw her into the air hitting Rarity who was trying to sneak up on him from behind and blasting Twilight with another ice beam; sending her a few feet back. As he started to walk towards Twilight, he prepared to release another powerful ice beam to finish her off, but then suddenly a couple of silver balls, the size of marbles, landed at his feet. He looked at them confused as to where they came from, but quickly figured out that someone threw them at him. *BOOOOOM* The balls exploded catching Dark Armor off guard and blowing him back, Out of no where, a small metal object was thrown and embedded itself on the back of his neck. Seconds later, a huge jolt of electricity started shocking him. He yelled out in pain before the assault stopped. When it was all over, he looked around and saw that the girls were gone. He growled in anger then stormed off to find them. **************************** The six girls gathered together in a nearby alley in order to catch their breath along with the person who saved them. “Spike, what are you doing here?!” asked Twilight. “I heard on the news you girls were having trouble with Dark Armor, so I came to help.” he explained. “But, you’re injured.” Twilight argued. “That doesn’t matter. I can’t just stay back while my friends are getting thrashed around.” he said. “Now what’s up with Dark Armor? How’s he getting the best of you?” “He’s somehow able to copy our powers.” answered Rarity. "It's got to that armor of his." “If I could get close enough, I could scan his armor; maybe even hack it somehow.” Spike suggested. “But i’ll need you girls to distract him long enough for me to do so.” “Sounds like a plan.” said Rainbow. “Let’s do it.” “Spike, I don't like the idea of you being out on the field while you injured, but if this is the only to take down Dark Armor then promise me one thing.” said Twilight. “If things start to get too hairy, then get out of there. I don’t want you getting anymore injured than you already are.” “Got it, and don’t worry about Fluttershy, i’ll keep her with me until she wakes up.” Spike said while giving his friends the thumbs up. With masks back on, the Power Ponies leapt back into action. **************************** Dark Armor rampaged through the streets; destroying everything in his path while looking for the Power Ponies. This was the closest he’s ever been to defeating them and he wasn’t going to let this chance of a lifetime slip away. He dug his hands into the street, pulled out a large chunk of concrete, and threw it at a nearby business. Thankfully, the people all scattered towards the back before the object hit. At that point, more cops and even a swat team arrived on scene. They wasted no time in drawing their weapons and opening fire. The bullets simply bounced off the armor; not even leaving so much as a dent on it. Dark Armor once again picked up a large piece of concrete and threw it at the cops who quickly ran away as the object crushed their vehicles; some of which exploded in impact. His then turned his sights towards a bakery where two small children cowered in fear. He started making his way towards them; cracking his knuckles as terrible thoughts crossed his mind. As he got closer, he was hit upside the head with an ice javelin. “GET AWAY FROM THEM!” Dark Armor turned to see five of the Power Ponies ready for a another round. He moved to the middle of the street just as a couple police officers grabbed the children and brought them to safety. As Dark Armor stood there and waited for one of the girls to make a move, high up on a nearby building Spike hid out of sight as he put on a pair of wrap around shades and pulled out a cell phone like object that connected to it. Both items were created by Spike which allows him to scan and hack his enemies. Spike touched the right side of the shades and immediately started scanning Dark Armor. “Spike, how’s that hack coming?” Rainbow asked through the com in his ear. “Scanning now.” he answered. Down on the street, the girls stood like statues in front of Dark Armor; giving Spike as much time as he needed to finish with the scanning. Suddenly, shot from a gun went off and the bullet hit Dark Armor in the back of his head. The bullet bounced off the armor; not even leaving so much as a scratch. The armored villain turned to see who attacked him and witnessed a police officer reloading his gun. Other officers ran on scene with their weapons drawn and opened fire. “What that hell are they doing?!” yelled Rainbow Dash as she gathered lightening around her fist. “Rainbow WAIT!” Twilight yelled as Rainbow charged at Dark Armor. The armored villain quickly noticed Rainbow and countered by launching a lightening blast at her; knocking her into a nearby building. As Dark Armor turned his attention back towards the cops, the girls saw they had no choice but to engage and another round before Spike had the chance to finish scanning. Spike watched as his friends engaged Dark Armor. “No, it’s too early.” he said. Spike grabbed Fluttershy and moved her out of the sun before hopping over building tops in order to catch up to the others. As soon as he made it to the third building, he fell to his knees and groaned in pain; clutching onto his sides. “S-SHIT!” he said. Fighting through the pain as he stood back up, Spike continued to get back in range to finish his scanning. Back on the ground, Applejack was thrown into Rarity just as Twilight shot off another ice blast to which Dark Armor countered with an ice blast of his own; knocking Twilight back. While Dark Armor was distracted with Twilight, Rainbow managed to land behind him with lightning bolts surrounding her fist. In a single move, she punched Dark Armor in the back of his head; sending him flying through the air. The armored villain quickly flipped his body around in mid air and landed on his feet; his hand digging into the street and pulling out another huge chunk of concrete. He threw it at Rainbow who quickly countered by unleashing a wave of lightning strikes to blow it up. However, in doing so, she left herself open to a direct attack. Dark Armor blasted her with another one of his lightning blast; sending her into a cop car. Groaning in pain, Rainbow rose back up only to be hit again. Spike finally got back in range and continued on with his scanning. “A-almost there.” he groaned. “Spike, y’all done scannin’ yet?!” Applejack asked over the com. “Just hold him off a little bit longer.” he answered. “Ah don’t know if we can.” she said. *BOOOOOOOM* Spike looked up just in time to see that a couple police cars had exploded; one of which had landed next to a van with a family of four; trapping them next to a gas tank. “Oh no!” he yelled. “What.......what is it?!” asked Twilight. “Around the corner, there’s a family trapped next to the gas tank!” he yelled. "Hurry and to them before it explodes!" “Got it!” she said. While Dark Armor was busy with Rainbow, Twilight took this time to run around the corner; preparing a ice attack. Once she saw the trapped family, she fired an ice blast to take out the fire. She ran over to the van and got the family out; telling to get as far away from the fight as possible. Pinkie Pie ran circles around Dark Armor in an attempt to slow him down, but he managed to grab hold of her hair and yank her to the ground. She quickly rolled out of the way just as his foot came down; thwarting the attempt at crushing her head. Out of nowhere, a golden glowing rope wrapped itself around him; holding him in place just as a glowing purple construct of a hammer made by Rarity came down on him. Dark Armor managed to get his right arm free and grabbed the purple construct before it hit him; breaking it before turning his attention towards Applejack. He didn’t get the chance to do anything cause Rainbow Dash came down on him with a lightning strike; bringing him down to one knee. Looking up at Rainbow, he unleashed a powerful wave of lightning hitting all three girls and blowing them away. Back up on the building, Spike’s scanning was now complete. Now he could see how his armor worked and form a plan to counter him. “Everyone, I have a plan.” he said into his com. “Twilight, I need you to get near Dark Armor; I’ll meet you there. Everyone else, keep him busy till I get in place.” “T-That won’t be too hard.” Rainbow said sarcastically. Pinkie Pie used her speed to catch Dark Armor in a pink vortex, however, the armored villain managed to trip her, grab her by the hair, and throw her into a building. This allowed Applejack to run up to him from the side and deliver a surprise uppercut; forcing the villain to stumble backwards. Rainbow charged at him from above, but he quickly dodged out of the way as she came down. As Rainbow punched the ground and caused a small crater, Dark Armor fired yet another wave of lightning at the two girls; causing them to yell in pain. He quickly looked over at Rarity and made a construct of a black fist and hammered her into the ground. He so busy with the girls, that he didn’t notice Twilight standing behind him. Spike landed from the building; clutching his side as pain ran through his body. Clenching his teeth, he fought through the pain and started to run towards Twilight just as Dark Armor moved to face her. “Come on, Spike, COME ON!” he thought as he got closer to her. “NOW!” Spike jumped and pushed Twilight out of the way just as Dark Armor looked in their direction. As Spike hit the ground, he pressed a button on his device which caused sparks to shoot from Dark Armor’s armor. The armored villain stuck out his hand in order to blast Spike with an ice beam, but nothing happened. He turned to the other girls and attempted to use their powers against them, but nothing happened. “I-In case y-you’re wondering.......I hacked your suit.” Spike explained as his body started to feel pain. “P-Pretty clever, building a suit that copies all of y-your enemies powers just by scanning them, b-but I n-noticed one problem. You can only scan one enemy at a time!” Spike chuckled smugly as he struggled to stand up; trying his best not to show how much pain he was actually in. “A-And now, your suit is permanently locked o-on to m-me.” he continued. “A-And in case you haven't figured it out, I have no powers!” Dark Armor was beyond furious and tackled an already injured Spike to the ground. Spike screamed as the pain he was already feeling increase ten fold. Dark Armor then grabbed him by the neck and threw him into a street pole. At this point, Spike coughed of a bit of blood as he struggled to stand up. “R-R-Right n-now, y-you’re.........just like m-me, but t-there’s one d-difference, y-you know what t-t-that is?” Spike pulled out a small detonator and looked at Dark Armor with an evil smile. The armored villain stopped in his tracks and looked down to see that Spike had managed to stick three beeping devices into his waist. It must have happened when he grabbed him. At that point, Spike was wrapped into a purple bubble before saying five final words to Dark Armor. “I’M A POWER PONY, ASSHOLE!” *click* *BBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM* Dark Armor was caught in an explosion that destroyed many empty buildings and cars that sent him flying through the air; most of his armor falling off him. The villain hit the ground hard, and struggled to stand up, but the fight wasn’t over. Applejack used her golden rope to trap him while Pinkie used her super speed to constantly hit him from all sides at once; tearing off what little armor he had left, except for his helmet. Applejack then gripped her rope and swung Dark Armor towards Rainbow and Twilight who fired a combine attack of ice and lightning; striking the villain and sending him toward Rarity. Rarity came in with a construct of a big purple fist and hit him with a massive uppercut into the air. As Dark Armor’s body flew up like a rag doll, he came across something he did not want to see. A large hulk-like creature grabbed him by the head and slammed him back into the ground where it pummeled him over and over. Fluttershy released a large growl as she stood over Dark Armor’s beaten body. The battle was now over and the heroes had won. The citizens of Maretropolis came out of hiding and surround the Power Ponies; cheering on and showing their appreciation. Spike slowly managed to rise to his feet only to be knocked over as more and more people showed up. “Hey watch it you!” yelled a male citizen. “Hey, go play pretend somewhere else!” yelled a female citizen. Spike was took weak to even respond to anything they told him. There were only two things he wanted right now, his friends and a quadruple bypass cheeseburger. Spike leaned against a building in order to stand up as he tried to make it to his friends. Little by little, step by step, he inched closer towards them. Breathing heavily, the pain he was feeling was one he wouldn’t wish on anyone; not even the bullies at school. Spike stopped moving in order to give himself sometime to rest. Taking a deep breath, he pushed himself off the building and began walking towards the crowd of people. He didn’t get far when more people noticed him. “Hey, it’s the pretender again!’ yelled a male citizen. “Hey, go home!” yelled a female. “You didn’t do anything! Quit acting hurt!” “Take off that fake blood!” yelled another female. The crowd erupted with boos as Spike walked by, however, he paid them no mind. All he wanted right now was to be with his friends. He didn’t get far though, as three muscled men stood in his way. “Why don’t you do us all a favor and crawl back into the little hole you came out of, pretender.” one of them said. Spike said nothing and proceeded to walk pass them. That’s when one of them grabbed Spike’s left arm and twisted it; causing him to scream out. Before anything else could’ve been or done, a large hulk-like hand grabbed the muscle man by his head and proceeded to squeeze it a bit; causing him to scream out in a high pitch voice. “Let.....Humdrum.....go!” Fluttershy growled in a threatening tone. The muscle man did as he was told and released Spike from his grip. Spike fell forward into Twilight’s arms. “We got you Humdrum, we got you.” she said. Spike looked up at her and smiled before closing his eyes and passing out. > Chapter 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spike slowly awoke the next day upon hearing what sounded like the news on tv. The reporters were talking about the heroic battle the Power Ponies had against Dark Armor, and of course there was no mention of him. "Figures, but then again, it's to be expected." he said as he moved to sit up. Doing so caused him to groan in pain and grab his sides. He soon heard a loud gasp coming from the doorway. Standing there was Fluttershy wearing her normal clothes holding a glass of water and bottle of pills for Spike. "Spike, what are you doing?!" she half yelled. Fluttershy hurried to Spike's side, placed the water and medicine on the lamp table, and gently pushed Spike to lay back down. "You shouldn't be moving right now. Here take this." She handed Spike the medicine and the water; which he took. It didn't take long for the meds to take effect and the pain Spike was feeling started to die down a bit. "T-Thanks." he said. "Where's the others?" "They're on call.......with the mayor." she explained. "Apparently, she wants us to attend an assembly at Central Park for the unveiling of a new statue in our honor." "Seriously, where does she get the money for all these statues?" Spike asked; causing Fluttershy to giggle. Soon after, both Spike and Fluttershy heard Twilight screaming and cursing up a storm. Fluttershy wanted to go see what was going on, but decided to stay with Spike. **************************** "I CAN'T BELIEVE HER!" Twilight yelled. "AFTER SPIKE HELPED SAVE THE CITY, SHE DOESN'T EVEN MENTION HIM?!" "Twilight calm down, you'll break something." said Rarity. "Damn her." she growled. "D-Damn her." Applejack walked up behind Twilight and placed a hand on her shoulder. Twilight turned to face her friend. "She can keep her damn statue, i'm not going." Twilight proceeded to take off her mask and her costume as she walked off. The rest of the girls were equally as upset as she was and decided not to go as well. "Ah guess ah'll call the mayor back and tell her we can't make it." Applejack suggested. "I wouldn't call her at all." said Rainbow angry. "If Spike isn't worth her time, then she's not worth ours." "Let's get changed already. I wanna check on Spike." said Pinkie. "We can decide what to do later." Naturally, Pinkie used her speed to run into her room, change into her normal clothes and come out within three seconds. "Geez, you girls are so slow." Pinkie giggled at her own joke while the others groaned. While the rest of the girls went to change out of their costumes, Applejack went back to the tv and proceeded to call the mayor. **************************** Spike and Fluttershy both sighed in relief as the screaming died down. Spike couldn't help but wonder what that was all about while Fluttershy kept him from sitting up again. The door to his room opened up and all the girls, except applejack walked in. "Hey you, how you feeling." said Pinkie. "I've been better." Spike said; looking at all his friends. "So what was all that screaming all about? Did it have something to do with the mayor?" The girls froze at Spike's question; unsure if they wanted to answer it or not, however, their silence told Spike everything he needed to know. The meeting in Central Park Fluttershy told him about and the girl's expression said that the mayor invited all but him to the unveiling of the new statue. Spike heavily sighed before noticing that Applejack wasn't in the room. "So where's AJ?" he asked. "She's telling the mayor we aren't going." Rainbow explained. "If the mayor doesn't believe you're worth her time, then she's not worth ours. Besides, we aren't missing anything, she'll probably give some dumbass speech that'll take an eternity to finish before revealing the statue." "That's true." said Rarity. "It'll also most likely be a televised event." "It is actually." came Applejack's voice from the doorway. "Ah just told her we had a very important mission to go on so we can't make it. She told me it was gonna be a live event." "Think we should watch it?" Spike asked; looking at Twilight. "I rather not." she said. "This statue of hers is probably gonna be just like the other one; except bigger, Not to mention, you're not apart of it." Twilight made her way over to Spike's side and sat next to him; gently placing her head on top of his. It was clear from the sad look she wore that she still felt guilty about not noticing how the public looked at Spike. Even while injured after the battle with Dark Armor, the public still ridiculed and attacked him; even though he's the reason they won in the first place. They couldn't deny they didn't see him fight because when Spike pushed Twilight out Dark Armor's sight, she saw a group of people standing inside a building watching Spike go up against the armored villain; right up to the point where Spike blew him up. But judging how they all looked at him when the girls took him home, they didn't care. They just ignored all that he did and solely focused on the fact that he didn't have any powers. Just thinking about that angered Twilight to the point of tears.......almost. She placed a hand over Spike's and held it tightly as she snuggled closer to him. "Well we have the whole day to ourselves, what do you girls want to do?" Spike asked. "How about whatever you want you want to do." Twilight answered. "Well what I want, is a Quadruple Bypass Cheeseburger." he answered. "NO!" Twilight said sternly. "Oh come on Twilight, why not?" he asked. "Because, it's unhealthy." she answered. "Says the girl who puts blueberries on her peanut butter and jelly sandwiches." Rainbow chimed in. Everyone in the room gagged at hearing Twilight's choice of sandwich; even Pinkie Pie who puts who knows what in her food. Twilight's face turned red in a bit of embarrassment at her friends reaction. It was soon decided that they were going to have take out tonight, and Spike was going to have his burger; even though Twilight still voiced her opinion against it. **************************** Spike and Twilight were the only ones in his room right now. The rest off the girls went out to get food while Twilight decided to stay with him. She rested her head on his shoulder while they watched tv. On every other channel there were advertisements about the meet up in Central Park. It would seem that the mayor went all out for this event. Twilight tried her best to conceal her anger; so much so that she started trembling a bit. She wasn't just angry at the mayor and the citizens who refused to acknowledge Spike, she was also angry at herself for not realizing what was going on; for not taking the time to just stop and look at how Spike was being treated in the public eye. For not caring enough to do anything. "Are you okay Twilight?" Spike asked as he noticed her trembling. "N-No, i'm not." she answered. "How can I be after all that's happened? I keep thinking about all the parades and events that's been held in our honor and how we've never noticed that you weren't there. I just........I just wish I could make it up to you somehow." As Twilight snuggled closer to Spike, she remembered what happened yesterday when she and the girls were all over him. Her face turned red just thinking about it. She started to wonder if Spike had ever fantasized about being with either her or the other girls. He does live in a large mansion with them so it's possible that he does. Hell, he's even seen them in their underwear a few times in the past; especially Rainbow and Pinkie who's gotten completely comfortable around him. Twilight let out a small chuckle as she remembered when Spike first moved in with them. Pinkie had forgotten to tell him that he had his own personal bathroom and accidentally walked in on Twilight while she was undressing. It was extremely embarrassing when he saw her in only her panties. Thankfully, he only saw her bare back and not her chest. Twilight didn't get the chance to scream out since Spike's eyes rolled in the back of his head before passing out. Twilight released another giggle as she remembered the look on Spike's face before he passed out. It wasn't easy, but Spike eventually got use to living with the six most popular girls in school; even though there were a few "accidents" here and there. Twilight also started thinking about their first mission with him on the team. A reactor at the power plant located just outside the city had exploded and the team assembled to rescue survivors. After it was all over, the team were surrounded by the survivors and their families, it was only NOW she realized that Spike wasn't anywhere near them. Even back then, the public refused to acknowledge him; even though he was the one who prevented the second, third, and fourth reactors from exploding. He was ignored then and he's ignored now. The only difference is now the public is starting to get violent with him. How could they be that way after all he's done to protect them. Just thinking about it angered her. She wanted to do something for Spike; anything that would show him how much she and the other girls really care about him, but nothing came to mind. Judging by Spike's injuries, he gonna miss at least a week's worth of school, so maybe the two of them could spend next weekend helping him catch up. ""No, that wouldn't work." she thought. "That would be more for my enjoyment than his." What to do, what to do? Twilight tried to think of things Spike enjoyed doing. "Oh yeah, Spike likes skateboarding, maybe we can go the to skatepark. No, wait, because of his injuries, that wouldn't be a good idea. Oh, he likes games, maybe we could go to.......wait.......the next games convention isn't for a few months. Oh, there must be some place I can bring him to." As Twilight laid there thinking of what she could do for Spike, a loud commercial started playing on screen; catching both of their attention. It was a promo for a car show that was coming up in two weeks. "A car show?" she thought as she saw Spike's face light up with excitement; releasing a light chuckle soon after. "I should've known Spike would be into something like that." When the promo ended, Twilight decided to speak up. "You know, Spike, if you want, we could go." "Really!" he said as he quickly turned to face her. However, in doing so, he groaned in pain; causing Twilight to sit up and push him onto his back. "Don't move." she said softly. "Sorry, it just caught me off guard when you said that." he said. "You know, I never expected you to be into that sort of stuff." "I'm not." she giggled. "It's just.......well, you deserve something nice, Spike. Think of this as my way of saying "thank you" for all that you've done for the team and the city." Spike was going to say something, but then let out another groan as the pain resurfaced. Using her ice powers, Twilight dropped the temperature on her left hand by a bit and then gently placed it on Spike's left side. This caused the pain to die down a bit which allowed Spike to relax. "Feeling better?" she asked. Spike nodded. As Twilight moved to lay back down next to Spike, his bedroom door opened revealing Pinkie and the others. "We're back!" Pinkie announced. The strong scent of hot fast food quickly filled the room; causing Spike's stomach to grumble. "Food." Spike moaned like an enslaved zombie. "Spike.....wants.....fooooooood." "We've got something nice for you big guy." Rainbow said as she pulled out a large bag. "Five Quadruple Bypass Cheeseburgers." Spike's mouth turned into a waterfall as he reached out his arms for his burgers. The girls shared a quick laugh as Twilight slowly brought Spike to a sitting position. Spike grabbed the bag from Rainbow just as the other girls gathered around his bed with bags of chips, sodas, and pizzas. Just as they all began to chow down, another promo for the upcoming car show started to play on tv. This caught the attention of both Spike and Rainbow Dash; much to Twilight's shock. She knew that Rainbow was into some tomboyish things, but she never guessed that cars was one of them. "You two are alike." she thought. Once the promo was over, a breaking news headline came on. The reporter announced that the mayor was about to reveal the newest statue in honor of the Power Ponies. The girls all stopped eating and watched; Twilight grabbing Spike's hand as she prepared for what she knew would come. On tv, everyone was gathered within Central Park. Police, Firefighters, journalist, and regular citizens all waited for the mayor's speech. Behind the stage where she would speak, was a massively large veil that was covering up the city's newest statue to their protectors. Before long, the mayor took the stage and proceeded to give her speech. "This is going to take a while." said Rainbow. "She loves to hear herself talk." Spike looked over at Twilight and saw that she had an intense look on her face; as if she were waiting for something to happen. Not only that, but her grip on his hand tighten a bit as she watched and listened to the mayor's speech. 45 minutes later and the girls were starting to get really annoyed. It's not surprising seeing as how this is what happens every time something is held in their honor. The mayor would give out a long ass speech for no reason other than the fact that she likes to hear herself talk. Each time, they would have to refrain from doing or saying anything while the mayor talked; else it wouldn't look good on their part. "Oh, get to the point already!" Rarity groaned. "Yeah, hurry up!" Pinkie added. The people in the crowd were starting to feel the same way. They didn't come here to listen to the mayor stroke her ego, they wanted to see the new statue. She might have started to catch on to that, as she started to notice tired and frustrated eyes on the people. She quickly finished her speech and then announced the new statue for all to see. This is it." Twilight thought as she felt her heart racing. The mayor went over to the veil and pulled on the room. The veil came down revealing the statue of the Power Ponies all standing in heroic poses. Unlike the other statue which had all of them standing casually, this one looked as of it was straight out of a comic book. The crowd cheered on as the camera captured many angles of the new statue. And just as Twilight feared, Spike was nowhere on the damn thing. She squeezed his hand hard as her anger started to flare up. "T-Twilight?" he said softly before looking at everyone else. Spike saw all of their faces and it told him that they were all pissed off. Reaching underneath his pillow, Spike grabbed the remote and turned the channel to a random station where hopefully there would be any news articles talking about the new statue. "Damn her." Twilight whispered. "God damn her." Letting go fo Spike's hand, Twilight moved off the bed and proceeded to leave the room; ignoring Spike's call to her. The other girls said nothing as the gathered up what was left of their food and left the room as well. Not a word was spoken amongst them, which didn't sit well with Spike. Normally when they get like this, that means they're going to do something stupid. He had to stop them from doing whatever it is they might be planning to do. Ignoring the pain he was feeling, Spike shifted his body and got out of bed. He slowly walked out of his room; leaning against the wall for support. Pinkie and the others were in the kitchen while Twilight was probably in her room. It took some time, but Spike finally made it her room. He was about to knock on the door, but saw that it had a crack in it. Pushing it open he saw Twilight standing there wearing nothing but a white bra and matching panties holding up her costume. "Even after that speech we gave her the other night, she still............ " she said. Spike snapped himself out of his trance and started to confront Twilight. "Don't do it." he said catching her attention. Once Twilight saw Spike standing in the doorway, she shrieked and tried to cover herself up. "S-Spike what are doing out of bed?!" she said. "You're planning on doing something stupid aren't you?" he asked. "I'm just going to have a talk with the mayor." she explained with a major blush on her face. "Talk to the mayor or attack her?" he asked while crossing his arms. "Because if it's the latter, it's not gonna work out well for you." "She knows you're apart of the team, and yet.......she does this?" Twilight started. "You should be on that statue along with us." "Twilight, maybe she's had that statue built beforehand and is only now revealing it to the public." Spike asked. "Making something that large obviously takes time to make." Twilight dropped her costume consequently revealing herself to Spike as the realization of what Spike told her settled in. Yes, the mayor now knew that Spike was a member of the team and that construction on the statue had to have taken place months beforehand. She could feel her anger towards the mayor start to fade away just as Spike mentally slapped himself for defending her. After all, she's the one who's going to sign into law a certain bill that he and many people disagree with, but that's something for another day. There were more pressing issues at hand; like for example, Twilight standing there in nothing but her underwear. Spike couldn't take his eyes off her and he stared at her glorious figure. Twilight lifted her head and caught Spike staring right at her. "Spike!" she yelled in shock as she covered her chest by cross her arms. Spike snapped out of his trance and quickly turned around as to not look at her, but in doing so he caused the pain to resurface once again; forcing him to fall to his knees. "Spike!" Twilight gasped as she ran to his side. At that point, Pinkie appeared on scene. "Spike, what are you doing out of bed?!" she gasped. Both her and Twilight helped him to his feet and proceeded to bring him to his room. **************************** Spike found himself back in his room in bed with Twilight laying next to him. Upon bringing him back, Twilight and Pinkie saw on the news that the police were in the middle of a high speed chase. Pinkie had left with the other girls while Twilight stayed behind with Spike. Resting her head next to his, Twilight wrapped her arm around him and held him close to her. Spike could feel her soft breasts pressed up against him; causing him to freeze up "Ohshitohshitohshit!" he screamed inside his head. "You feeling okay Spike?" she asked. All Spike could do was dumbly nod as he felt those soft mounds of hers press up against him. Twilight giggled as she tilted his head upwards; Spike's face turned another shade of red as he looked her in the eyes. "Thanks, Spike." "For what?" he asked. "Stopping me from making an ass of myself." she said. "it's just......with all that's happened.......I just want everyone to know how big a member of the team you are." "You can't expect people to change their minds so quickly." Spike said. "Most rarely do, but you know what, despite what they think of me, i'm still gonna fight to protect them. It's the right thing to do after all." "Spike." she said softly. Even after all he's been through, Spike is still willing to fight for the people as he did before. It no longer matters whether or not the people accept him as a member of the team, all that matters is that he stays true to himself and help those in need. Twilight moved in closer and planted a soft kiss on his cheek before resting her head on top of his. Twilight could feel Spike's body stiffen up as the two of them laid there. At first she thought she was causing him pain, but that turned out to not be the case as she remembered what happened yesterday when she laid against him like this. "Spike?" she spoke up. "Am I making you uncomfortable?" "N-no." he answered nervously. The tone in his voice told her otherwise. Twilight wanted to press the issue a bit further, but decided against it; believing that it wasn't the right time to talk about that kind stuff when Spike was recovering from his injuries. **************************** An entire week has passed since the battle against Dark Armor, and Spike has almost completely healed from his injuries. Because of his injuries, however, he had to miss an entire week of school; which was good for him because that meant he didn't have to deal with those jealous assholes who don't like him around Twilight and the girls, but it was also bad for him because, Twilight would always make sure that she brought home all of his homework and made sure he'd completed it before anything else happened. Just because he was injured doesn't mean he gets to fall behind. No excuses. Twilight acted as his personal tutor throughout his recovery. When it came to his excusal from school, the girls told all the teachers and the principal that he was one of the few people who were injured while running away from the battle with Dark Armor; to which the girls were tasked with bringing and making sure Spike's homework was completed. It was mid afternoon when Spike and the girls made it to Central Park. They didn't really do much except walk around for a while telling Spike all that he missed the passed week at school. Spike, though almost completely healed, had to walk at a slow pace as to not re-injure himself. Eventually, the group made it to the new statute of them that was set in place last week. The girls didn't want to look at it due to the fact that it reminded them of how the public saw Spike. They wanted to get away from it as soon as possible, but Spike stayed looking at it. "Come on, Spike, let's go." Twilight said softly. "Huh.......oh, yeah." he said. Spike turned to meet up with his friends; Rainbow Dash wrapping an arm around his neck as he got to them. After walking for so long, the group decided to sit down a nearby park bench to rest their feet. This passed week was pretty much quiet. No villains threatening the city, no one robbing stores or high speed chases. This was one of those rare instances where the group could just simply relax and enjoy the day off. Twilight and Rarity looked over at each other and nodded. Rarity reached into her purse and pulled out seven tickets. This caused Spike's heart to skip a beat as he knew what those tickets were. They were tickets for the car show that was coming next week. "H-How did you get those?" he asked. Twilight and Rarity giggled. "We called in a few favors and managed to get some before they completely sold out." Twilight explained. "Next week, we're all going to the show." Spike wanted to shout out in excitement, but Rainbow beat him to it by launching herself high into the air and screaming. Twilight and Rarity couldn't understand the appeal of walking around and looking at fast cars for a few hours, but if it makes Spike happy, then who are they to judge. "Spike, after all you've done for us, you deserve this." said Rarity. "It may not be a large statue, or the key to the city, but it's our way of telling you........" "WE LOVE YOU, SPIKE!" Pinkie interjected; unable to keep it in any longer. She pulled him into one of her signature bear hugs; threatening to injure him once again. Fluttershy and Applejack had to pry the girl off Spike before she could do any real damage. "AAAAHHHH!" came a female scream. The group noticed a group of people running and screaming for their lives as a giant drill came from the ground. Standing on top of it was a deranged woman dressed as a lizard. She started making some kind of speech about how the underground race of lizard people will rise to take over. The girls and Spike all stood up ready for a fight. "Spike, are you sure you're well enough for this?" Twilight asked. "Of course, i'm sure." he answered. "Okay, but if things get too hairy, stay back." she said. "Alright team, let's suit up!" **************************** After the battle, the Power Ponies stood triumphantly over the lizard lady who continued to spat out nonsense about the lizard race and how they were going to takeover the surface world. The team were soon surrounded by the people who cheered them on as they handed her over to the police. They made sure that Spike was right next to them after the battle; not wanting another assault to take place. The people saw first hand how capable a fighter Spike was even though he had no powers, and most of them chose to ignore him and solely focus on the girls; all except one person. One of the police officers slowly approached the team; revealing himself to be the same officer that threaten to arrest Spike last week. The look on his face said that he was about to say something he didn't want to admit, but knew that he had to. "Humdrum?!" he said; catching the entire team's attention. "You did good." "W-what?!" Spike said in shock. "I said.....you did good." he growled; clearly not wanting to continue this conversation. The officer quickly turned away and started to walk off; leaving Spike completely stunned at what just happened. He was acknowledged by a member of the police force. Someone, other than his friends, actually acknowledged him. He had no words to explain how he was feeling right now. Pinkie latched onto his arm while Twilight squeezed his hand. Both girls were hoping for an apology from the officer for hurting Spike last week, but decided that his acknowledgement of Spike was enough. "Hey, let's go get something to eat." Rainbow suggested. "I'm starving." Just as they were about to leave, a little girl came running up to them. Her face lit up as she saw Spike. "DADDY, IT'S HIM, HE'S HERE!" she screamed; catching everyone off guard. A man with short white hair walked up to everyone. Judging by his breathing, he was most probably chasing after his daughter. "Sweetie, how many times must I tell you, don't go running off like that." he said. "But, daddy, it's him." she said. "He's the one who saved me and mommy." Spike recognized the little girl. She was the one he saved from the bank robbers last week before all the hostages turned on him. He was surprised she even remembered him, but even more surprised when the girl's father approached him. "So you're the one who saved both my wife and daughter at the bank last week?" he asked. Spike nodded and braced himself for the upcoming beratement of putting everyone in danger because of his lack of powers; as did the girls as they subtly took a defensive stance next to him. However, to everyone's surprise, the man stuck out his hand and gave Spike and appreciative smile. "I can't thank you enough for saving them." he said. "When my daughter told me what happened, I just had to meet and thank you in person." Spike slowly took the man's hand and shook it. "If it wasn't for you........I don't know what would've happened to them." As Spike let go of his hand, the little girl wrapped her arms around his waist; hugging him. "You're my hero." she said. "She's right, you are." he said. "My daughter told what happened after you've saved everyone, I can't believe they turned on you like that, especially my wife, right after you saved them. It takes a lot of courage to do what you do despite what the public may think." "I'm just doing what's right." Spike said. "And I hope you never stop doing that." he said. "The world needs more heroes like you." The man grabbed his daughter's hand and before they left, his daughter said "thank you" to Spike one last time before leaving with her father. Spike watched them leave with a warm smile on his face; the father's words still lingering in his mind and reinforcing the decision he made last week. The decision to continue fighting for the people whether they like him or not. To keep them all save from any kind of danger that threatens them; no matter how big or small. Pinkie wrapped her arms around Spike from behind and held him close; happy for him that he got to meet someone who was appreciative of what he does for the city other than her and the girls. Before anything else could be said, the team heard loud gunfire coming from somewhere not far from them. "A hero's work is never done." Spike said; causing the others to smile and laugh. "Come on team, let's move out!" Twilight announced. > Epilogue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evening in the city of Maretropolis. All is quiet, except for a group of five burglars making an attempt break into an electronics shop. Unbeknownst to them, they were being watched. Just as one them managed to break the lock, a few silver marbles landed fell from the sky and landed next to them. The five men didn't even have time to react seeing as how the marbles exploded; releasing a thick puff of smoke. A figure dropped down out of nowhere and made quick work out of four of the five burglars. When the smoke cleared, only one of them were standing; the rest were gone. "I'm only giving you this one warning." came a voice. The last burglar turned around to see a silhouette of someone standing a few feet from him. "Give up." The burglar pulled out a knife from his back pocket and made an attempt to charge at the silhouette, but something stopped him. Looking down at his feet he saw that both his legs were frozen solid. "W-What?!" he yelled. Looking up, he saw a fist coming at him. The burglar was knocked onto his back and out of consciousness. "Good work, Humdrum." said Twilight as she walked on scene. "Thanks." he said as he looked up to see the rest of the burglars hanging from the building next door. "The cops should be here any second now, we better go." Two weeks had passed since Spike fully recovered. Now back at 100%, he was able to fight alongside his friends with no worries about taking it easy. Keeping with the decision he made to continue helping the public no matter what, he made it known to everyone that he was here to stay. Sure he was still met with hatred from the people, but he no longer let that get to him. He found solace in knowing that he was staying true to himself. Since the days of his recovery, he'd noticed that Twilight was spending more time next to him. He figured that she still felt guilty about not realizing about the people's hatred for him, and wanted to find a way to make it up to him. The car show they went to was the most fun he's had in months. Both he and Rainbow Dash were like children in a store; running around and touching things they really shouldn't be touching. Fun day for them, embarrassing for everyone else. Deep in Twilight's mind however, she felt that this wasn't enough. Three years of ignoring the problem, and taking him to a simple car show is how she fixes it? No. That won't do. There has to be something else she can do to make it up to Spike. To show him how much she cares. On top of that, there's been a little conversation she's been meaning to have with him, but felt a bit embarrassed to bring it up. After their patrol, Spike and Twilight returned to the mansion; the others were still out. Spike laid in his room staring at the ceiling as the tv played. He hadn't noticed that Twilight was standing at the door wearing a light purple tank top and light blue shorts. She knocked on the door to catch his attention. "Um, Spike?" she said as he lifted his head. "Mind if I come in?" "Sure." he answered. Twilight entered his room and got on his bed; laying right beside him. "So what are you watching?" she asked. "Nothing really. The tv's just on; wasn't really paying attention to it." he answered. "So, what's up?" "Oh, nothing, I just wanted to see how you were doing that's all." she said. Twilight scooted closer towards him so that she could rest her head on his shoulder. She immediately felt Spike's body tense up as her chest rubbed up against his arm. "Actually Spike, there's another reason why I wanted to talk to you." "W-what is it?" he asked as he felt her breasts against his arm. "Well.......I know that taking you to that car show was our way of telling you that we care, but.......I don't believe it's enough." she explained. "I feel like there's more I could, more I should do to show that I care, and that i'm sorry for not noticing what you were going through the past three years." Twilight held Spike's arm close to her; not noticing that his face was now beat red. "I wish I knew what to do." Spike's senses went into overdrive as he felt Twilight's soft body next to him; even more so when she moved so that her upper body was right over him. She looked at his redden face with concern in her eyes; not realizing that she was giving him ample view of her cleavage. "Spike?" she started. "Are you uncomfortable with me being here?" "W-What? No." he said. "Why do you ask?" "Because your body is all stiffen up, and your face is red." she answered as her face stared to get red as well. "Y-you know, just like last time." Spike knew what she was talking about. Last time they were like this, Spike was caught in a......."special" predicament. He had hoped Twilight had forgotten about that, but it seems she didn't. How DO you forget about something like that anyway? "We don't make it any easier on you do we?" she asked. "I mean, you're the only guy living in a mansion with six girls who you see practically naked every other night." "Yeah, that's true." he chuckled lightly. Twilight saw that he was avoiding making eye contact with her for some reason. It wasn't until she saw his eyes travel downward for a second before looking away that she realized that she was showing off her cleavage. With a loud gasp, Twilight moved off him into a sitting position; cover her chest with her arms. As Spike sat up, he looked over at Twilight who looked back at him; her face now as red as his. The two of them sat there in an awkward silence for a few seconds before they started snickering, and then laughing. After a while, Twilight moved to sit next to Spike; the two of them sitting in silence for a brief moment before Twilight spoke up. "Say, Spike? do you have a......girlfriend?" "W-What?" he said in shock. "Shit, why did I ask that?" she thought. "N-No, I don't." he answered; looking down. "I haven't even kissed a girl." Twilight had no idea what it was that compelled her to do what she was about to do. Maybe it was her desire to do more for Spike. Maybe it was something else entirely, but all she knew was that she found herself scooting closer to him and placing a hand on top of his. "Maybe, I can help with that." she said in a soft tone. As Spike shot his head up to look at her, Twilight moved in and planted her lips over his. Spike was as stiff as a statue as he felt those soft lips of hers on his. He had no idea what to do, and it wasn't as if he could kiss her back. He had no experience in this department; unlike her. To Spike's knowledge, Twilight has had a total of two boyfriends since he joined up with the team. The first one he never met because the relationship between the two of them was already ending by the time he join up, but the second one was a cocky, reckless, idiot who nearly got himself and those around him killed with his antics. Honestly, he had no idea what she saw in them. Both guys were members of the "Superhero Community" as most people call it, so there was no need for Twilight to worry about her identity getting out to the public. Twilight slowly broke the kiss as started at Spike who was just dumbfounded by what just happened. She giggled as she watched his face. "So, how was your first kiss?" she asked. "Uuuuuhhhhh." he said. "Uuuuuhhhhh." Twilight laughed as Spike couldn't form a single word. "Wanna continue?" she asked and was answered a nod. Moving back in, Twilight started kissing Spike once again; slowly pushing him onto his back while crawling on top of him. "W-What am I doing?" she thought. "Why does this feel so........so right?" Spike's body went on autopilot as his arms wrapped around Twilight; holding her close as she deepened the kiss. Just like last time, Spike rubbed his hands up and down her back before moving his right down her perfectly round rear to which he grabbed and squeezed; causing her to release a muffled moan. Twilight slowly broke away from the kiss and looked Spike in the eyes; breathing heavily. "S-Spike." she panted. Not wanting this to stop, Spike lifted his head and smashed his lips against hers to which she didn't protest. Their little make-out session went on for a few minutes until both their phones went off. Both Spike and Twilight broke away from each other to check who was messaging them. DIAMOND DOGS AND MANE IAC DOWNTOWN! GET YOU ASSES HERE NOW! ~Rarity Spike and Twilight looked at each other and nodded; quickly getting out of bed to change into their costumes. Spike couldn't believe that he had just made out with Twilight; the leader of the team. Did she always feel that way about him, or did she do that just to make herself feel less guilty? "So, I guess we're a couple now." he thought as he grabbed his costume. After a few minutes, Spike met up with Twilight on the roof. She had just finished telling Rarity the two of them were on their way. "Ready Spike?" she said. "Y-yeah." he answered; looking down. "Um, Twilight.......a-about what we did......." "Do you regret it?" she asked. "What no! It was amazing, it's just.......what now?" he said with uncertainty. "Well, obviously, we can't go back to be friends, can we?" she teased. Spike looked up at her and was about to say something when she grabbed his arm and pulled him closer to her. "So you better treat me right, or I swear i'll freeze you until the next century." A smile formed on Spike's face and he nodded which caused Twilight to give him a small peck on the lips. Her eyes lidded as she gave him a sultry look. "If you want, we can pick up where we left off when we get back." Twilight didn't give Spike a chance to respond as she used her ice powers to get them into the city. Within seconds they were gone. End.
