Twilight still in shock for the fact her mother is in the hospital because of the Maniac's attack earlier, tries her best to keep her wits about her. Applejack and Rarity try to pinpoint where Celestia could be and above all else, a mystical staff is missing! What will our heroes do? Will they triumph or fall? Find out now!
Wires beeped when new information entered a sort of make shift mind numbing device that was placed on Celestia as she tried her best to keep her sanity, even though Kate said Tia had some "special power" she wanted to unlock.
Kate walked in the room and sat as Celestia struggled to keep herself from going completely insane. Watching her struggle brought a smile to her face.
"Struggle all you want Celestia but it won't save you from me" Kate said.
Celestia tried to move but the restraints held her back.
Outside the mansion a hooded woman stood at the front gate and could hear Tia's suffering at the hands of Katelyn Marie Taiga. She reached in her pocket for her portal device, threw it down in the middle of the ground creating a portal and took one last glance before leaving. Her portal disappeared before anyone batted an eye.
"Was anyone outside?" Kate asked Rockstar, turning to him.
"Nope" Rockstar answered.
"Go get ready for your big show against those heroes and plunge their city into darkness" Kate commanded.
"Sure thing" answered Rockstar who put on his long jacket, "I'll make them all scream for mercy" he proclaimed.
Kate smirked, "Well I'll be there very soon to see how you progressed" she said.
Rockstar nodded then shifted into a crow and flew away, leaving her teacher to continue with Celestia with unlocking this "secret power" she went on about.
Whatever this power was, Kate was determined to find it and unleash it on the world...not saying that Rockstar couldn't get the job done but this was her insurance policy just as a precaution.
Inside the Metropolis Medical hospital Twilight's mother laid there on life support after Maniac's attack earlier before her hair almost tore the city apart. The beeps from the heart rate monitor was Twilight's focus, that is until Rainbow Dash walked in.
"How's she doing?" Dash asked concerned.
"She's doing alright Rainbow, the doctors said she'll make a full recovery in the coming days or weeks I don't know" Twilight stumbled in her words, feeling guilt on her shoulders.
Dash stood next to her friend and gave her a pat on the back, reassuring her that everything is going to be alright. Twilight got up from where she was sitting and hugged Dash, sobbing in her shirt.
This must be so hard for her right now Dash stroked her hair softly.
Spike finished repairing the ship's motor systems so it would perform better than before. Pinkie sped past Spike but stopped to wave hi at Spike who returned the wave before she sped off again in the blink of an eye.
"It seems that snake in the grass Kate still hasn't revealed her location" Applejack said, tapping a bunch of keys with Rarity watching closely.
"She has to be somewhere darling" Rarity spoke up.
The computer scanned all over the world for Kate and Celestia but all it showed on the screen was an error message.
Applejack slammed her fists on the table angrily, "Hunk of junk" she insulted.
"The computer isn't to blame here Applejack, we are trying so hard to find Celestia" Rarity said.
Applejack wanted to protest but knew that something was demanding her to keep her in time in finding Celestia and dismantling Kate Taiga, making sure no one ever could start trouble. A reassuring pat on the back from Rarity helped Applejack try to get through today.
"I'm sorry Rarity...it's just that, ugh I want Tia to be found" Applejack said with a little concern and worry.
Rarity hugged her, "I know this is very hard at the moment but we have to keep going" she reassured Applejack.
The country girl returned Rarity's hug as a way to say thank you.
Rockstar materialized outside Metropolis in the busy city limits looking around. Children played with their parents or complaining about something not worth Star's time, couples held hand or kissed. Even some people who worked in office buildings talked among other co workers. The only thing he was concerned about was finding those heroes; First, he needed to get their attention.
I guess slaughtering a few cops and causing massive destruction might do the trick he thought.
Twilight became silent throughout Dash driving her back to base to at least clear the air but something was still bothering her. During that fight her and Spike had with Puppet Master, Kate said something to her that has been stuck inside Twilight's head for days now.
Who will be there when there is an enemy not even your team could match up to
She clenched her fists trying to hold down tears.
"Twi I know what Kate during that battle stuck with you but understand that me and the others are going to stick with you till the end" Dash stated.
"I know but what if Kate's right?" Twilight questioned skeptically.
"Look Twi don't listen to that halfwit lawyer lesbian has to say about that. No matter what enemy we face, we'll always pull through" Dash reminded Twilight.
Hearing what Rainbow told Twilight to keep fighting, she has always told her mother that fighting evil alongside friends was always an adrenaline rush to her. Despite what Twilight Velvet better judgement she allowed Sparkle pursue her dream and fast forward to now, Twilight is the team leader of a team that immediately worked like a well oiled machine. Through all the psychotic and unspeakable horrors they have faced in more ways than one, they always had each others back.
"Yea your right Dash, throughout everything that has gone on we were still able to stick together and win the day" Twilight realized.
Rainbow Dash smiled and held Twilight's hand as a sign to say they were in it together thick and thin of it all.
A police station that would have busy workers was now filled with corpses. Some hung on the wall by flag poles or any kind of pole for that matter, while others were scattered all over the floors, through windows (stain glass windows to be exact), and on top of tables. Rockstar walked through the wreckage he caused and went inside evidence lockup and looked up at an ancient staff with a golden interior with a red gem powering it.
"Nice" Rockstar complimented, smashing the stained glass window.
Upon holding the staff, it's golden exterior changed into black and covered in shadows. The red gem crackled with Rockstar's dark energy encased within, making his power increase. He felt a sudden new power source that he had never felt before at least until now.
"The heroes won't know what hit them" Rockstar said, walking out the police station with a dangerous mystical object in his possession.
A blaring alert popped Spike and Pinkie Pie from their seats as Spike went over to the computer then typed some keys to pinpoint the source of the alarm. What they saw read the headline in bold Police massacre at the Metropolis Police Station. Just reading that headline alone was enough to send shivers down Pinkie's spine, even more than what she experienced in Salem.
"Looks like someone or something attacked the police station" Spike said, looking through eyewitness photos.
Pinkie stayed silent as Spike went through the photos and shadows of those innocent people being controlled by Nightmare Moon started to enter her mind.
"We should head over there" Spike planned, turning his attention to Pinkie.
Pinkie eventually snapped out of whatever trance she was in and nodded to head over to the station immediately. Spike was a little confused but decided to shrug it off as it really wasn't his business until the pink party girl wanted to say otherwise.
They both suited then Pinkie dashed through rush hour with Spike hanging on tightly, making sure he doesn't fall off even with Pinkie Flash moving at a very high speed.
Soon enough the pair arrived at their destination and they didn't have to enter to notice the countless bodies that laid before them along with an open door. Pinkie dashed over to the open door titled Evidence Room had it's door open for some strange reason.
Why would someone come in here? There's nothing in here except a magical staff that is enchanted to whatever power the holder had Pinkie then looked over and saw that staff she mentioned was now missing.
"SPIKE!" Pinkie bellowed.
Spike ran in and flashed a defense stance with his metal staff twirling around, at least he did until there was no immediate danger. Pinkie pointed to the now destroyed stained glass window keeping the mystical staff in check but now it was gone.
"The mystical staff is gone! Oh man...this is not good, whoever has this staff is going to cause major havoc around the city then eventually the world" Spike said looking at the shattered glass container.
Rockstar pointed his staff at a skyscraper, fired a single shot of magic from the crystal, and watched at the skyscraper started to come down. Suddenly the building stopped falling because of some outside force or someone had the strength to pick it up.
"Huh?" Rockstar looked.
Fluttershy (Saddle Rager) had lifted the building before safely setting it down then looking at Rockstar who was still holding that staff.
"What are you going to do with that?" Shy questioned angrily.
"That is none of your business Rager but I'd be more than happy to show you what it can do" Rockstar said, powering up the crystal.
A single golden horse shoe bonked Rockstar in the head, forcing him to drop the staff. He looked at the direction he got hit and noticed Mistress Marevelous twirling her horse show smirking. Rockstar now just noticed that his staff was no longer in his hands.
"Looking for this?" Matterhorn asked, having the staff in a container before floating in on the the jet above her.
"How did you get that?" Rockstar baffled.
The scepter got grabbed by a metal claw and hoisted it up into a secret chamber on the jet. Twilight gave Spike a thumbs up to tell him to jet away, he did so leaving Rockstar with 3 heroes in front of him or all around him if you want to be technical.
"You three think you can stop me? Ha! You have no chance in hell" Rockstar boasted.
"We can hog tie you like a rabbit in a trap partner" Applejack said.
She ran up to him and went for a horse shoe attack and this time Rockstar blocked it and straight upper cutted her, causing her to fly in about 4 ft in the air until she went through a rooftop. Fluttershy in her rage sucker punched Rockstar into 6 buildings, then skidding onto the ground then stopped. Struggling to stand, Fluttershy punched him repeatedly in the stomach and one last punch was blocked by Rockstar and countered with a hard shadow push sending her into a pile of concrete, reverting her rage back to normal.
"And then there was one" Rockstar said smirking.
Twilight stood her ground not backing down from this fight. Her artificial wings glowed a bright teal blue to activate battle mode along with her goggles.
This time I won't lose to some hard ass trying to think he's hot shit Twilight's demeanor changed into anger.
With a loud fearsome battle cry, Twilight went on the attack kicking and trying to punch him. He grabbed his hand, smirking at Twilight before putting her arm behind her back making the pain come in the worst way. Twilight gritted her teeth trying her best not to scream as she looked up at Rockstar's cold calculating eyes staring into her soul.
"Sorry this has to be cut short" Rockstar apologized, using his shadow magic to push her back into a wall.
She hit the wall back first then skidding down to the ground, taking one last glance at Rockstar's smug smile before passing out.
I failed...I'm sorry mom, I'm sorry friends Twilight let out a single tear flow down her face.
She woke up on her bed with her armor deactivated, looking around; Twilight made an assumption that someone brought her back to base. A hooded woman stepped out from the shadows which surprised Twilight to know this mysterious woman was and how she brought her here in the first place.
"Excuse me who are you?" Twilight asked.
The woman looked up at her, "Who I am will come to you in due time but right now you tried to fight a shadow magic user but to no avail" she recalled.
Twilight did somehow have to witness her two friends get taken for a loop because of Rockstar, she was no exception as she was the last one to get taken down. Applejack and Shy were shown no mercy from but from what Twilight could remember was that Rockstar showed a little mercy towards her.
The question was: Why?
"Yea he did bang us up all didn't he?" Twilight joked, chuckling a bit.
The woman's face meant that she wasn't joking around.
"But in all seriousness he was holding on to some kind of staff, any idea what that was all about?" Twilight questioned.
"That mystical staff was once used by an ancient cat witch named Aiko Nafatsu who wielded its power to help bring peace to her city before giving it up and practicing magic to a younger generation until she passed away some 40 years ago. It is said that whoever holds that staff whether said person is good or evil will wield it's power for whatever their heart desires. And since Rockstar works with Kate Taiga, no doubt he'll use it to plunge this world into pure chaos" she explained.
Twilight was utterly shocked and appalled by that statement considering the countless innocent lives at risks.
"I know this must be difficult for you to swallow right now but he's a dangerous threat to society" she said.
"No I understand the risks" Twilight responded back.
She opened a portal on a side wall in Twilight's room, smiling brightly before leaving. The portal closed on its self leaving Twilight to contemplate what this mysterious woman just told her.
I hope what she says is true Twilight sat up in bed and looked out the window, watching the city go about it's daily business.
Kate in the meanwhile, tapped some keys on her tablet while at the same time monitoring Celestia's brain waves and they showed massive brain activity which surprised Kate that Tia was finally started to cooperate after the endless tests she has performed on her.
"You are just impressing me everyday and from the waves, it seem that your brain activity is getting more and more active every second" Kate said, scrolling through her brain charts.
Celestia said nothing and the only movement she made was little jolts coming from her uncomfortable helmet hooked up to a bunch of wires. Kate set her tablet down to look at what she was creating at the moment and soon enough this hidden power supposedly looming inside Celestia would come out to help her and Rockstar rule Metropolis with an iron fist.
The thought made Kate smile widely.
Once Tia has reached her peak she will be a weapon of mass destruction Kate pondered, smirking like a madwoman.
Twilight headed to the med bay to see Spike patching up AJ and Fluttershy's battle scars after what happened out there with Rockstar.
"How are they doing?" Twilight said.
"They sustained minor injuries but they should be fine by tomorrow morning" Spike answered.
"That's good news at least" Twilight was relieved that it wasn't worse.
Applejack looked over at her now bandaged arm because of the force of the impact. Shy woke up finally from her almost concussion but made Twilight's worry leave her to see her friends unharmed.
Dash took the elevator down to the basement as she was listening to music on her phone, totally oblivious to what was going on. A shadow moved past the rainbow hair colored girl rather quickly, easily avoiding any chance of him being spotted by her. Dash continued to listen to music and looking through files on the tablet placed next to the jet, her being distracted was just the opportunity Rockstar needed. He climbed inside the jet via the engine then materialized into his normal form before walking around to find the staff Twilight and her friends took from him.
That's when he spotted that very same staff floating in a magnetic field casing of some kind. Rockstar pressed a button that 4 accent symbols with the title CODE NUMBER in big bold grey lettering. Lucky for Rockstar, he knew the code and typed in 4127 to signal a ding to tell him he typed in the right code and the staff fell right into his hands again.
He smirked with satisfaction on his face before disappearing into nothing but a shadow leaving the jet.
Rainbow opened the walk way of the jet, walking up to where they would usually be briefed about their mission, that was before Kate kidnapped Celestia and took her to who knows where. She went down into the secret chamber then noticed the staff Spike picked up from Twilight who took it from Rockstar was missing.
"Oh no" Dash said.
As quick as a whip, Rainbow Dash sounded an alarm to alert everyone about an emergency.
Soon enough, all of her friends with the exception of Applejack and Fluttershy nursing their injuries came down to the basement to meet Rainbow Dash.
"Darling what is this about? I was in the middle of a very hot dream and you interrupted it with that dreadful alarm" Rarity complained.
"The staff is gone!" Dash blurted out.
Everyone that was present inside the basement stood there with chills running down their spines. The one item that was keeping Rockstar at bay was now back in his grasp again. Spike was baffled and ultimately confused as to how in the world Rockstar was able to sneak in and take back that mystical staff without getting himself caught.
Spike then turned his attention towards Dash, more specifically noticing her phone and earphones poking out of her front pocket and he narrowed his eyes at Rainbow.
"Dash when you were coming down here, were you listening to music?" Spike asked curiously.
Dash pulled out her phone and busted with guilt while everyone face palmed groaning in disappointment that Rainbow was distracted while Rockstar obtained his staff, leaving no trace he was there except for an empty magnetic field. Twilight was the only one who didn't face palm because of Dash's screw up that basically put the whole world in jeopardy.
"Aw don't beat yourself about it Dashie we'll find that staff and Rockstar in a jiffy" Pinkie proclaimed, smiling with her eyes shimmering brightly.
"Good thing I was able to place a tracking chip on the bottom half of the staff so I got a lock on his signal" Spike said looking at the basement computer, having a detail look of Metropolis' most notorious hot spots.
A single red dot showed up near the park and the bakery across the street.
"Since I screwed up I'm taking Pinkie Pie and Twilight along with myself over to the park" Dash spoke up.
"Alright I'll stay behind to tend to Applejack and Fluttershy" Spike said.
Pinkie, Twilight, and Dash suited up in their superhero personas and left to the park to capture Rockstar...again.
When they arrived, it would seem that Rockstar was already at work. People wandered around aimlessly, making soft groaning sounds upon seeing the heroes. They're eyes were sunken in and a shade of dark purple can be seen glowing out of them, claws very sharp instead of normal hands and had back spikes bursting with a sticky oozing substance that almost made Dash puke.
"What in the world happened here?" Pinkie questioned.
Twilight was in total shock, unknowing of just how powerful that mystical staff really was. One of them happen to spot one of the girls and attacked them.
"Uh oh" Dash said before hitting a few of them with a non lethal electric shock.
Twilight set her phaser blasts to stun and basically stunned the rest of the group. Pinkie sped around with a rope, going faster and faster until they were all tied up, bounded for good. Their moaning subsided, leaving Twilight and Pinkie to ponder what has happened and more importantly why or how.
Dash looked up to see cloudy skies, which was weird because the weather is supposed to be nice all week with isolated thunderstorms Sunday.
"Dash did you change the weather?" Pinkie questioned, looking up at the sky as well.
Rainbow nose tightened.
"Pinkie I may have super powers to control thunder and lightning but even I can't create cloud coverage like this" Dash baffled at the current situation.
A dark tornado began to form, taking shape and blowing winds of over 90mph in one spot in the park. The ooze that was found got sucked into the tornado and formed winds, very sharp winds. Twilight activated her gauntlet then fired a single shot to create a field surrounding the tornado to be contained so no more damage can be brought into Metropolis.
"That won't hold out for long" Twilight warned.
Rockstar used his staff's crystal to cause the tornado to disappear before landing on the grass with a loud thud, causing a medium earthquake. None of the them were even slightly impressed by Rockstar's entrance, being that he wasn't really that impressive anyway.
"Rockstar release your hold on that staff and come with us peacefully!" Dash bellowed.
"I'm gonna have to go with no" Rockstar answered smugly.
Rainbow Dash clenched her fists but Twilight's warm hand softened her increased anger. Dash would nothing more than to wipe that stupid smug look on his face but Twilight knew that as soon as she goes to attack him it would be short lived. Rockstar maybe acting like an asshole but he was dangerously smart, she didn't want Dash to be caught in his trap.
"Listen heroes as much as I want to run off with this staff and never be seen again, it wouldn't be much fun" Rockstar expressed his sadistic enjoyment of violence, "Beating you heroes up will ease my suffering." His eyes began to turn blood red, shadows surrounding his body.
Twilight, Dash, and Pinkie looked with mouths gaping open at the sudden power surge that illuminated from Rockstar as he expressed a demonic like smile. He quickly moved in between Dash and Pinkie, kicking them both in the face. Pinkie moved out of the way and countered with a speed induced punch to the gut, sending him skidding on nothing but grass and dirt. The kick did catch Rainbow square in the mouth, causing it to bleed a little but not enough to be fatal.
Rainbow stood up struggling a little after Pinkie's surprise attack, breathing a little heavier than normal which was a first for him. He scowled at the speedster with malice filling his red eyes.
Damn that speedster, this time she won't get off easy for what she did to Nightmare Moon. I'll make her pay
Applejack woke up from what seemed like a long nap then realized she was in the infirmary alongside Fluttershy who was still sleeping, at least in AJ's case anyway. No other sound instead of the beeps that would go off to keep them alive for the time being.
Where is Spike? Applejack wondered, sitting up on her bed.
Shy finally stirred in her sleep before finally waking up and blinking, adjusting to the light above her that was used to examine her brain after Rockstar almost gave her a concussion. Shy then stood upright, taking off the needle attached to her right arm carefully and with Applejack watching.
"Hold on 'ere partner you were almost put in a concussion you need to rest" Applejack pleaded.
"AJ our friends might be in danger" Shy interjected.
"I know that Shy but," Applejack tried to explain but could see the look of concern on her friend's face.
With a heavy sigh, AJ and Shy got out of the infirmary, transformed into their super heroine personas then rode out on a motorcycle to find their friends. When Shy looked up, all she could see was dark mysterious clouds begin to roll in rapidly.
"What in the hell?" Applejack asked.
"You don't think Twilight and the others failed did they?" Shy asked worried.
Applejack said nothing, for she didn't know herself what Twilight and the others are doing.
Hopefully they can hold out until Shy and I can get to them Applejack hoped.
In another part of of the city, Rarity used her grappling hook she created to grapple her way up on top of a building that was still in construction but it didn't matter to Rarity. She checked her communicator, where a red beeping dot appeared at the same place Rarity was currently in.
"I knew you would be able to find me Rarity" Kate said, stepping out of the shadows.
"Where is she?" Rarity bellowed, clearly pissed off.
Kate only smirked, "I'm sorry Rarity but you won't find Belle here with me. I am afraid that I have no idea where she might be my dear, so I guess that your out of luck" she said with a devilish smile spread across her face.
Rarity brought out twin axes then ran to attack her but no success as Kate avoided every strike Rarity tried to hit her with. One axe attack did connect but Kate force pushed Radiance (Rarity) into a metal beam back first. Rarity groaned in pain after being launches into that beam like that, she backed up before shifting the axes into swords and clashed with Kate.
"You really think you can find her and undo what is already done Radiance? Well I'm sorry to say that is not going to be the case" Kate expressed.
That angered Rarity as in a swift motion she broke free from the clash and judo kicked Kate hard enough that she stumbled back. Before she had time to react, Rarity connected her boots with Kate's chest, sending her flying down then made her weapons disappear before finding a way down. As soon as she arrived at the front entrance she could see dark clouds looming near Central Park.
That cannot be good Rarity hopped back on her motorcycle and raced towards Central Park.
Twilight blocked another blast from Rockstar by creating a force field around herself to protect herself from his incoming attacks. Dash fired a electric bolt at Rockstar but it did nothing, instead he grabbed the bolt and fired it back at Rainbow. She bounced before landing a few feet away but Shy caught her in her arms.
"Thanks for the catch" Dash complimented.
Shy nodded and let Dash get to her feet again.
"You all are a bunch of fools if you think you can stop me! There is not way you can!" Rockstar yelled in between laughter.
Applejack gritted her teeth and charged at him and connected with a missile drop kick that spinned him around but it gave enough time for Rarity to spawn a metal pink boxing glove that she used to punch him straight in the nose. Rockstar did 8 backflips before hitting the ground. When he got back up, he looked down to see blood dripping from his nose, that's when he noticed when Rarity punched him, it caused him to bleed from his nose. He looked at Rarity with a boiling hatred burning from his eyes and lunged at her but this time Rainbow shocked him with 100,000 volts of pure electricity, sending Rockstar to his knees as he smoked from the spark Dash gave him.
"Okay maybe I did underestimate a bunch of talent less hacks like yourselves but it won't save you from me" Rockstar proclaimed, standing up.
"What are you flapping your gums about asshole?" Dash questioned.
All of a sudden all the wounds he had suddenly vanished but the smirk never left his face as he raised the staff high, summoning a bunch of portals. Everyone looked up to see shadow monsters appear out of the portals Rockstar made but Twilight had her mouth open in pure shock.
"Feast your eyes on the worst nightmare of your lives!" Rockstar announced, hopping on a dark chariot and riding away.
Dash was about to go after him but Rarity stopped her.
"We need to come up with a plan" Applejack suggested.
Shy pointed to the 18 shadow monster warriors standing above them and closing in fast. Dash's eyes turned pure white with sparks coming out of them and summoned lightning bolts that shocked them to the point they faded into dust in less than half a second.
"Whoa" everyone said in unison.
Dash's eyes change back to normal and Twilight caught her before she passed out.
"We need to get moving" Twilight said, contacting Spike.
Spike arrived in the jet and lowered the hatch to let everyone get on. Once everyone got on, he pulled up and floated above the city and could see the destruction that these shadow monsters were causing. Instead of going back to base to think of a plan, he instead kept moving towards the heart of the city.
"Spike we have to regroup! We can't stop him!" Twilight shouted.
"Twilight let me tell you something, throughout everything we have faced so far in our lives your really going to let someone like him get away with this? He's just power hungry and we need to cut off his supply" Spike retorted.
Twilight just couldn't find the words to try and argue with her partner who has been with her for years now. After every adventure they have been through so far she almost gave up because Rockstar has a magical staff that was capable of amplifying his shadow powers and creating this nightmarish dystopia, she couldn't just stop and let this happen.
"Your right Spike let's end this nightmare once and for all" Twilight said.
Everyone buckled up as Spike began to maneuver through the incoming ships.
