Spike Drake has lost is parents in a horable monster hunt and is now coming to terms with his new life.

Spike Drake is a normal boy by day, but by night he is a monster hunter. With training from his parents, little did he know he had become the best fighter ever.
On his 18th birthday he had received a a spear/sword from his parents. ( A regular spear but with a sword sheathed in it) That same night, a hunting trip went horrible for the Drake family, as Miss. and Mr. Drake were killed by a Legendary Dark dragon by the name of Gore Magala.
After being taken in by a very close family friend, Miss. Celestia, Spike was introduced to the world of Equestria. He must now face the challenge of coming to terms with whats happened to accepted Celestia as his mom, and to kill Gore Magala for revenge for his parents.

In a dark room rested an 18 year old boy, with emerald green hair. He shuffled and reluctantly got up and out of bed. He waltzed over to his dresser got out a purple shirt, black jeans and a purple jacket. " Lookin good Spike, lookin real good." He said while looking in the mirror. Spike then walked out of his room and went down stairs.
"Thank you Celestia." An older man spoke. He had on a brown shirt and blue jeans, with his emerald green hair.
"No problem at all Mr. Drake. But are you sure you can do this, I mean fight a Elder Dragon?" A woman spoke, sitting across the man in the living room, with rainbow hair and pure white skin. She had on a simple t-shirt and black sweat pants. Her name was Celestia. She has been friends with the Drakes since Spike was born.
"We are not sure we can do this, but we sure are going to try." Sitting beside Mr. Drake was another woman. She also has emerald green hair but longer. She followed her husband’s cloths and had on a brown shirt and black pants.
“Of course we will win, as long as we all fight as a family." Mr. Drake said confidently.
“Good morning Mom, Dad. Oh, hello Celestia." Spike said as he made it down the steps.
"Hello Spike, or should I call you birthday-boy." Celestia teased.
“Hey kid." Mr. Drake said.
"Happy Birthday sweetie." Miss. Drake said almost crushing the boy to death with a hug.
"Mom.....air....please." Spike just managed to get out as his mother let go of him.
"Sorry sweetie." Miss. Drake said apologetically, while spike caught his breath.
"Hey Celestia, what brings you here?" Spike asked.
"It’s your birthday after all. Why wouldn't I be here?" She said.
"Oh okay, so Dad I couldn't help but over here that we are fighting a Elder dragon. Can you tell me what that is about, not that I'm complaining or anything?" Spike asked. Mr. Drake just giggled.
"Tonight we are fighting a Dark dragon by the name of Gore Magala." Mr. Drake said.
"Wait what do you mean "we". Don't you fight the big monsters? I don't even have a proper weapon, just my training spear." Spike said sadly.
“And that's were your wrong Spike." Mr. Drake said, while Miss. Drake got up and went upstairs.
“Wait What! you didn't!" Spike said happily.
Mr. Drake led Celestia and Spike in to the kitchen. Celestia placed a shoe-box sized present on the table. While Mr. Drake opened the fridge and got out a cake. Celestia just stared at the cake wide eyed. Miss. Drake soon came into the room with a big present.
"Wow, no way-OW!" Miss. Drake smacked Spike's hand as he went to pick it up.
“You know the rules Mr. no presents until after the cake." Miss. Drake said firmly.
"Uh fine." Spike said in a grumpy tone, sitting down in a chair.
"Now Spike, don't be greedy. It's a very bad trait to have, believe me I know." Celestia said sadly.
"Oh, sorry mom I didn't mean it." Spike apologized.
“It’s fine dear." Miss. Drake said.
"Oh would you all stop being all sad. This is a Birthday Party, so stop it. Now Spike come here." Mr. Drake shouted as he finished lighting the candles on the cake. Everyone put a smile on their face, and Miss. Drake turned off the lights. Then they sung, happy Birthday to Spike.
After they stopped singing Spike blew out the candles and made a wish. He wished that one day he could make a friend, the last friend he had was another boy named Thorax. He disappeared a few years ago and no one would tell him why. So now he just wanted a friend. Little did he know the price he was going to pay for that to come true.
"I am very happy to say you are no officially 18 .Spike now you can open your presents. Why don't you start with Celestia's." Mr. Drake said with a smile, as the lights came back on.
Spike bolted over to Celestia's present and tore it open to find a purple gauntlet with black lacing and an emerald gem on the back. Spike was stunned at the gift.
"Wow." was all he could say.
"I take it you like it. I bought it back home and I thought it would look good on you." Celestia said happily. Spike gave her a huge hug.
“Thanks Celestia. This is awesome." He said putting on the gauntlet.
“You’re welcome Spike." Celestia said.
"Can I open yours now Mom, Dad?" Spike asked, while they nodded. Then he started to open their gift.
Spike was in awe at the now unwrapped present. It was a spear. It had a long black handle; the tip had green for the edged part and a purple middle down to a green gem that connected the handle to the Spear. At the other end had a hallow Green blade shaped like a Diamond that was connected to the spear handle by an out of place grip.
"This is the best gift ever! I love you guys." Spike said giving his mom and Dad a hug.
"We love you too and are glade you like it." Miss. Drake said.
"Here let me show you something." Mr. Drake said as he took the Spear from Spike. He then places his hand on the out of place grip at the bottom and unsheathed a thin double-edged blade.
"It’s kept in place because of some magic I placed on it so it doesn't fall out, and only a member of the Drake Family can unsheathe it. You can also summon and unsummon it." Mr. Drake said as the spear lit up in green flames then a second later the same green flames appeared in front of Spike. “Don’t be afraid it won’t burn." He said as spike grabbed the spear.
"Wow these are awesome guys, Thanks." Spike said happily, as his spear lit up in flames and disappeared.
"I am glad you like it Spike but unfortunately I have to go home now. You all be safe, okay." Celestia said.
Spike ran up to her and gave her another hug." We will, and thanks again for the gift." Spike said as Celestia waved and walked out of the house.
"Hey Son, what do you say we go out in the back yard and practice with your new weapon.” Mr. Drake said. Spike lit up and ran out the back door." I will take that as a yes.” He laughed as he and Miss. Drake followed.

It was Noon when Spike and his Mom and Dad had finished training with his new equipment. Spike even beat his Dad a few times. When they had finished training they went inside to get ready to leave for their hunt.
"Alright, everybody ready?" Mr. Drake asked his family. He had a giant Katana on his back.
"I am, Spike are you?" Miss. Drake said. She had two blades on her back.
“Let’s Do This." Spike said in a cocky tone.
"Then let’s move out." Mr. Drake said. As they left their home and hiked into the woods. Spike followed his dad because he said that he knew where to go, but it felt like he was leading them into the middle of nowhere. After an hour of walking they soon came across an open field. Right in the middle of the field was a giant black dragon. It had 4 legs and wings that lay on its back like a cape. It was 4 stories high and had the face of a snake, and it was eating a dear.
"Alright gang let’s use the element of surprise while we have it." Mr. Drake said quietly. Even tho they were on the edge of the field they were facing a legendary dragon. “Here’s the plan."
5 Minutes later
Spike was on the right side of the field while Miss. Drake was on the left, and Mr. Drake stayed put. Suddenly Mr. Drake Charged out of his hiding place running strait for the dragon. While the dragon was focused on him Miss. Drake ran for the dragon too, and Spike did the same. They all landed a good blow on the dragon before it twirled around in a circle, and whipping everyone with its tail. After getting back up, Spike stabled the dragon in the back right knee making it fall over. They all hacked and slashed at it until it got back up. It then flapped its wings and took off the ground, knocking everyone over, then it set its sight to the one who damaged its nee, Spike. In its mouth black flames leaked out, and the dragon leaned back getting ready to fire it at Spike. Mr. Drake knew what was going to happen and got up as the dragon shot a huge ball of flame at Spike. Just in time Mr. Drake leaped in front of Spike.
"DAD!!" Spike Screamed. There was a giant explosion covering the field with black flames. Were Spikes Father jumped in to save Spike, there was now a pile of ash. Spike stared in horror at the ashes.
"YOU BASTARD!" Miss. Drake screamed as she charged the Dragon. She was swinging madly and tore several holes in the dragons wings. This got the dragons attention and breathed fire on her melting her to nothing.
"MOM!" Spike Yelled, still in pain from the explosion. Some of his clothing and skin was burned. Spike felt nothing but anger swell up inside him, and he was going to let it out. "DIE!" Spike Screamed as he attacked the black dragon. The dragon swiped its claws at the boy only for it to be punched away. Being left wide open, Spike took his spear and slashed it across the dragons face creating a huge scar. The dragon roared in pain. Spike went to strike it again, but the Dragon took off, leaving spike all alone.
"Mom...Dad." Spike said, as he fell to his knees and sobbed in his hands, while his spear erupted in green flames and disappeared. Spike kept crying in till he passed out on the ground. He laid their in the field of black flames as his Gauntlet's emerald began to glow brightly and a portal opened up underneath the unconscious boy. Spike fell thought the portal and landed in very big and open room at the base of steps leading to a throne with an unidentified creature siting in it. The creature was female and had flowing rainbow hair. She quickly got up from her throne and rushed to the boy’s aid.
"MOM,DAD!"Spike said in a panic as he rose swiftly up in a bed. There were tears in his eyes and was breathing heavy. “So it wasn't a dream." He said looking to his hand, to find a wrist band instead of his gauntlet. Spike finally got a good look at his surroundings. He had his shirt and pants still on, and his gauntlet was on a desk on the other side of the room. He quickly realized he was in a hospital, but something was off. Spike looked at a clock on the wall, 9:45am it said. Then he heard a click at the door.
A man waked in the room. "Ah, you’re awake." The man said. He had a face of a pony with a horn on the top of his head, and he had grey fur. From the neck down he had the structure of a normal man, but he didn't have feet, instead he had hooves. He also had black hair and a black tail. He had a clipboard in his left hand also wore glasses. Spike's jaw dropped when he saw the man.
"I came here as quick as I could since your heart rate was very high on the monitor. I am Doctor Silver Needle, but please, just call me Silver." Silver said. He then reached his hand out to shake Spike's.
After shutting his mouth Spike shook Silvers hand." Uh hi, I'm Spike. What are you?" Spike asked.
"Oh I am a pony, but more specifically a unicorn. The princess said she would explain everything to you when she gets here to take you back to the castle." Silver said.
"Wait, what princess!?" Spike asked.
“I’m sorry, she told me not to tell you that, but I can tell you that she brought you here last night herself. You were badly burned. It was nothing our healing magic couldn't fix though. Although it was weird, I thought dragons don't get burned." Silver stated.
"What do you mean?" Spiked asked, beyond confused at this point. Just then there was another click at the door. An amazon like woman stepped through the door. She had an hourglass figure. Her fur was pure white and somehow had constant flowing rainbow hair and tail. She also had a horn but hers was longer and she had wings. Spike was in awe when he saw the woman, and yet she looked familiar.
"Ah, Princess Celestia your here." Silver said bowing.
"Celestia, is that really you?" Spike said in shock.
Celestia smiled at Spike and then turned to Silver. “Doctor, please excuse us. I have much I must discuss with Spike."
"Of course, you highness." Silver said as he walked out of the room.
Celestia's horn glowed gold and shut the door. Then a gold glow encased her and in a blinding flash, she was in her human form." Yes Spike, it's really me." Celestia said in a motherly tone.
"How?" Spike asked
Celestia sat next to Spike. "Well, I guess I should start from the beginning. A long time ago their used to be two great dragon hunters, their names were Arthur, and Selena."
"Mom, and Dad?" Spike thought allowed.
"Yes, they were the best. Back then all the dragon's in our world, craved blood. Arthur and Selena were the only dragons that didn't because they refused to harm innocent beings, because of this they were forced to kill their brothers and sisters. They were almost instantly exiled from the dragon lands by the dragon lord Torch." Celestia said.
"Wow, Mom and Dad are dragons. Then if they were dragon hunters, why were you surprised when dad said we were going to fight Gore Magala." Spike said as he soon began to cry. He was reminded of everything that happened when he faced the dragon.
"Sh Sh sh, I'm here. It’s going to be okay." Celestia said as she hugged the crying boy.
"It’s not okay, there gone. What am I going to do now? Spike cried.
"I am going to take care of you. It’s what they wanted." Celestia sadly spoke.
"What?" Spike asked in disbelief.
"The morning of your birthday they asked me to watch over you and take care of you, encase something went wrong. I looked into your memory and I saw what happened. You should know it wasn't your fault." Celestia said. Spike just hugged her tighter.
"How did I get here? I thought I passed out in a field." Spike asked, really wanting to change the subject.
"When they told me to take care of you, I enchanted your gantlet to bring you to me if you ever passed out. Speaking of which." She said getting up and retrieved the gauntlet for Spike. Once she gave the gauntlet to Spike, he then put it on. “I also enchanted it to be the wearer is immune to all magic." Celestia stated.
"Thank you. You said Mom and Dad were exiled form the dragon lands, how did you meet then?" Spike asked.
"They came to me asking to hunt in my land, for a dragon. They explained to me the dragon situation. Eventually we became friends and we waged war on the dragons. It was long and bloody but we won, and peace was made between our people. After that Selena got pregnant with you. The dragons got scared that their child would bring the end to them all. Then the hunters became the hunted, so I had to make them disappear. So I took them to your world, and you know the rest. That's also the reason why I never called them by their name, encase I was followed. To answer your other question, the reason I was surprised is because, Gore Magala is believed to be a Elder Dragon. Elder dragons existed before time and are far more powerful than me." Celestia explained.
"You say that, but I still don't know what you are." Spike said.
Celestia transformed into her other form." I am a pony, but more specifically an alicorn. We are in my home, Equestra. I rule this land with my sister, Princess Luna. I move the Sun to make it day time, while Luna moves the moon. There are 4 different kinds of ponies in my land. Alicorns, unicorns, earth ponies, and pegisi. There is only three alicorns alive now. I am the princess of the day, Luna is the princess of the night and there is a princess of love, her name is Mi Amore Cadenza or Cadence for short. Alicorns can use magic with their horns and fly with their wings. The more common ones are unicorns, earth ponies, and pegisi. Unicorns have horns and can use magic, earth ponies are very strong, and pegisi have wing which they can use to fly." Celestia said.
"Wow, I guess the peopl-er ponies would freak when they saw me." Spike chuckled.
"Well not really, I placed an illusion spell on you to look like a dragon to other ponies. So some ponies will freak and some won't, it depends on how open minded they are. Remember when I said Arthur and Selena are dragons?" Celestia asked.
"Yea." Spike confirmed.
"You are a dragon too. Come here to the center of the room and I'll show you how to transform." Celestia said, and Spike walked to the center of the room. “Focus and look deep within yourself." Celestia instructed. For a moment Spike just stood there with his eyes closed. Spike then erupted in green flames that lasted for a few seconds and then dispersed. Spike now was a dragon with purple scales with a green under belly. He still had his clothes and was the same high. Spike also has spikes on the back of his head like a mohawk and also had a tail. Instead of four fingers and a thumb, he now had three claws and a claw thumb. Spike looked over his new form in awe.
"I look so awesome, but it’s going to take a while to get used to." Spike said happily
"Yes it will." Celestia said as she embraced the boy. "Spike, I am your family now, and I will take care of you. Since you’re now family, I think you should meet the rest." Celestia said warmly.
"What do you mean?" Spike asked as Celestia giggled and lead him out of the room.
It was a very hot day in Canterlot. Dragon or not, Spike still felt like he was melting. Celestia and Spike had left the hospital and are now on their way to the castle.
"Hey Celestia, I just noticed, were did my gauntlet go? Spike asked, inspecting his wrist.
"You still have it, but its on your human form." Celestia said.
Spike stopped looking at his wrist and then looked around. They were surrounded by guards escorting them. Dozens of ponies were whispering and staring at him. He had never felt so small before. Even the guards were glancing at him.
"It's okay Spike, They've just never seen a dragon before." Celestia said trying to comfort Spike.
"Somehow, I don't think that's the case.” Spike said.
Soon they were at the castle, and made their way inside. As they walked, guards saluted them, and maids bowed. Spike and Celestia arrived at a giant door, but stopped when they heard a voice.
"Auntie Celestia, who is this" said a feminine voice. Spike then turned to see where the voice came from. There was an alicorn with pink fur. She had purple, white, and pink in her main and tail.
"Cadence this is Spike. If you follow me I will explain, don't worry Spike can be trusted." Celestia said warmly.
"Oh, so your Mi Amore Cadenza. I am Spike nice to meet you." Spike said with a smile and a slight bow.
"If Auntie Celestia trusts you then so will I. Yes I am Mi Amore Cadenza, but please call me Cadence." Cadence replied happily.
"Now to introduce you to Luna." Celestia said opening the big door. As the door opened Spike saw two thrones. One was gold with symbols of the sun and another was dark blue with symbols of the moon. Sitting on the moon throne was another alicorn. She had dark blue fur, and her main was flowing like Celestia's except it had a constellation of stars.
"Lulu, I'm back!" Celestia exclaimed with joy. "This is Spike, the boy I've told you about."
"Ah, this is him, I thought you said he was taller." Luna said eyeing up the boy." He's very handsome."
"No Luna, Spike is not your plaything. He is my son." Celestia said tuning to the boy to see him looking at the floor. He had his fist clenched hard, and still didn't know what to make of everything. She quickly realized what she said and embraced the boy. “I’m sorry Spike, but like I said you are family now. I will not force you to call me mom. Take all the time you need." Spike just stood there still not sure of his emotions. Luna and Cadence's jaw hit the floor.
After composing herself Cadence spoke. "Well I for one, think he will make a great addiction to the family. Especially considering Blueblood." Cadence spoke annoyed just by the name.
"Ye I do hope he is better than Blueblood. Anyways welcome to the family." Luna said walking to the boy and embracing him, soon followed by Cadence. After a while they let go.
"Good now that the introductions are over, let’s all go have lunch." Celestia suggested, while everyone agreed. “Then it’s settled, Girls lets go get ready. Spike, I will have a Guard show you to your quarters." With that, Celestia called a guard, and one came almost immediately." Show Spike to his room while we prepare and bring him back here in an hour." Celestia commanded. The guard did as he was instructed and led Spike though the castle. While they walked thought the castle, Spike heard 2 male voices arguing.
"I swear, I killed 3 Timberwolves with one arrow, It's True!"
"Yea right, I've never even seen you pick up a bow. There's no way you did that."
When the two voices came into view Spike saw that there were two stallions who both had white fur. They both were unicorns. One of the stallions had a blue main and tail while the other had blond. The one with the blue, noticed the dragon.
"Well, who's this?"
"I don't know. What's your name kid?"
"I am Spike, what's your name?" Spike asked the two.
"I'm Blueblood, a pleasure to meet you." The one with the blond mane and tail said.
"Name's Shining Armor." The other said.
"Well excuse me, I have to get ready to have lunch with the princesses." Spike said tuning to walk away.
Shining and Blueblood looked at each other as if to say something but didn't. “Oh okay, see you there." Shining armor said.
"Alright ,Wait What!?" Spike said in confusion, but before he could turn around they teleported away. Spike just sighed and continued on. Soon he reached his room, it was very open. It had a master bed with red sheets. The room also had a few cabinets.
"This is your room. I will be outside the room, let me know when you are ready and we will meet up with the princesses." The guard said as he took his place beside the entrance.
"Thank you. I won’t be long." Spike said shutting the door. He then preceded to walk to the bed and just laid in it as he thought to himself."Mom and Dad are dead. Celestia has taken me in and I have no idea of what to do now." Just there was a knock at the door.
“Sir, we need to leave now or else we will be late." The guard said. Spike got up from the bed and went to the door.
“Sorry, I must have dozed off." Spike apologized as he opened the door." Are we meeting them in the same room?" Spike asked.
“Yes please follow me." Spike did as the guard ordered. They went down the hallway and back to the throne room where the the princesses, Shining armor, and Blueblood was waiting.
"Ah there you are, we've been waiting." Celestia said.
"Yea sorry, I dozed off." Spike apologized.
"Its fine, anyway I think you meet these two" Celestia motioned to the stallions.
"Yep, Shining armor and Blueblood."
"Yes and I told them about you. You can get to know them more at lunch. Lets hurry up, I'm starving." Celestia said rushing everyone.
As they left the castle to have lunch at a place picked by Luna called Donuts Joe's, Spike began talking to the guys.
"So, you're captain of the royal guard?" Spike asked.
"Yea, it’s boring. Nothing ever happens. So far, the only thing that's ever happened was at Cadence's and I's wedding." Shining Sighed.
"You two are married?" Spike questioned
"Yea, the basted got married before me." Blueblood added.
"That's because you’re a jerk to all mares." Shining shot back. Before Blueblood could retort Celestia spoke up.
"We're here." Celestia said with joy. They entered the shop to be greeted by by a happy Doughnut Joe.
"Hello again Princess. I guessing you all want the usual." Doughnut Joe asked.
"Yes Please, Spike go up and order something. I know you’re hungry." Celestia giggled. Spike walked up to the counter and looked at the board to think about his order.
"What can I get you pal." Doughnut Joe asked.
“I’ll have two number 9s, A number 9 large, A Number 6 with extra cream, A Number 7, Two number 45s, One with sprinkles, and a large Soda." Spike ordered. All the jaws in the shop hit the floor.
"You all think that's bad. You should see him when he's starving." Celestia giggled.
"I'll get that ready for you sir." Doughnut Joe said composing himself, as did everyone else.
“After we eat we'll head back to the castle." Celestia said to Spike, while picking a booth to eat at. Soon Doughnut Joe came around the corner with the biggest order he'd ever made.
A week has passed since Spike arrived in Equestria. Ever since Doughnut Joe's, Spike and Luna have gotten along well. Luna showed him how she and Celestia raise, and lower the sun and moon. She also showed him how she arranges the stars at night. Blueblood taught Spike Equetria's history. It was around 9:00p.m. and currently Spike was in the garden listening to his iPod he brought from home.
"Believer, Believer" Spike sang as he was approached by two guards.
"The Princess asks for you presence." one of the guards said.
"Really? What for?" Spike asked.
"She didn't say, just that she needs you" The guard finished. Spike wrapped up his iPod and followed the guards.
Celestia sat on her bed reading her journal, which she soon closed. She then got up from her bed and walked to her window.
Flashback
It was noon and Celestia was standing were she was now, by her window. Suddenly their was a loud knock at the door.
"Princess, there are two Dragons here and ask for your urgent presence." A guard said though the door. This intrigued Celestia because she has never housed dragons before.
"I'll be there in a moment." Celestia called back. She put back on her crown and preceded to leave her room.
As she walked down the massive hallway to her throne room she noticed that there was way more security than normal.
"Whats with all this for General?" Celestia asked.
"Just in case your majesty. You can never know what these monsters will do." The general said informing the princess. They soon came arrived at the throne room where two dragons stood. One was a female with red scales and a green under belly, she had two swords on her back. The other was a male with green scales and a purple under belly, he had a massive katana on his back. Celestia took note of these things and made her way her her throne.
"Might I ask why you are here young ones." Celestia asked
"We request permission to hunt your land, your majesty" The male dragon asked professionally.
"I'm sorry?" Celestia asked while confused.
"Yes, We need to hunt in your land, all we need is a week." The male dragon asked again but kneeling this time. the female dragon just got more pissed off with every passing second.
"You aren't going to be hunting my ponies are you? Might I also ask if your working for the dragon lord? Celestia asked still trying to understand there purpose. The male dragon was about to speak but was cut off.
"Fuck no were not working for those bastards! To answer your other question were hunting a dragon." The female dragon spat.
"Sweetie, were here to befriend the princess, not make an enemy of her." The male dragon said the the female trying to calm her down.
"Why would dragons be hunting other dragons." Celestia asked.
"I can explain everything to you, if you'll allow me." The male dragon answered.
"Of course, oh and I never caught your names."
"Ah, I am Arthur and this is my girlfriend Selena."
Celestia's Flashback was interrupted by a knock at the door. "Come in" she yelled. The door soon opened.
"Hey Celestia, I heard you wanted to talk to me." Spike said entering the room.
" Yes, I guess you would like to know why. But first, how would you rank your fighting skills." Celestia asked in a very serious tone
"Well I can't say. I don't have a very good track record." Spike answered with sadness.
"How would you like to change that."
"What?"
"Well allow me to explain. I have received many reports of timber wolves near a town called Ponyville. But these timber wolves walk on two legs, like us, but much more beast like. For example I heard them described like werewolves in your world. I Can't allow these beasts to be near one of my towns and hurting my ponies. So, I have a "quest", for you if you would like to. " Celestia finished.
"Of course, but were would I go. I just just got to this world last week."
"I have put some thought into that and I have come up with a solution. To get to the spot were the sighting are I will teleport you there.
