> A Good Share of Dreams REWRITE > by Sea Pony > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The clangs of swords and the hum of magic resonated throughout the Veil a woman with red hair, blue eyes and a slander figure was battling another robed figure. ''I don't know who you are Grim Reaper but you are going down!'' The red hair screamed. The robed figure chuckle their voice was muffled making it impossible to identify who they were. ''You have beaten more than your fair share of gods Roxanne Dreamer. But you chew more than you could handle this time.'' The figure removed her mask reavealing her identity to Roxanne. The woman eyes widen in shock. ''You?! But I don't get it. You're a Elder how could you do this to these poor humans.'' The Elder scoffed in disgust. ''Poor humans? Please Roxanne I know the Dreamers have a duty to fight for all mortals races but there no need to feel pity for these filthy apes. I'm doing the universe a favor by getting rid of them.'' Roxanne was boiling with rage. ''How can you talk about them like that?! All living things are suppose to be your children if you treat your children like that you're nothing but a disgusting monster!'' Roxanne charged blade in hand. But before she could reach the figure she fell into a hole in the fabric of space. The figure laughed. And with a wave of hand they closed the hole. ''Now that the strongest Dreamer is gone the rest should be easy to deal with.'' With that the figure left with a confident spring in their steps. - - - - - Four millions years later I'm not really the type to complain about my problems. But sometime you need to complain a little bit to get your point across. In this case I need a little context so you can understand why I did what I did. My name is Peace Dreamer. At least it is the name I took while living in Equestria. I would tell you what my human name used to be but I don't even remember what my original name was. To be honest there a lot of things beside my name I don't remember. To put it simply trying to remember my life as a human is like trying to remember the day I was born. While I don't remember my life on Earth that much. I do remember the day I died very clearly. I was Canadian I was born in the French province of Quebec but all my life I was hopping from province to province so I talked english more often than not. All my life I felt like I was born in the wrong place or in the wrong time. I had a thirst for wanderlust that the modern world could not satisfy. I wanted to have adventures to discover ancient civilisations lost to time and discovering islands full of treasures. It was a childish dream but one that never got away. But the world was arleady explored there was almost nothing left to do and so I decided to live my dreams throught fiction. I decided to become a writer. If I couldn't find adventures in the real world maybe I could created them. And so I decided to visit all the important cultural places of my country to study the folklore and base a story on it. One day I was wandering throught a town. It was a small farming town that nobody would normally care about. But it was exactly why it interested me. This place was a perfect inspiration for where the main hero lived before the adventure began. But that's when something really strange happened. Time stopped working. Birds in the sky stood unmoving in midflap. A car in the street would have splashed me with a puddle of water if the liquid wouldn't have stopped in midair. And there wasn't a sound to be heard in the whole town except for my heavy breathing as panic began to set in. That is until I heard the sound of footsteps. I turned around and saw a grinning man standing there. That would be unnerving enough but he also had a gun pointed directly at me! ''Hello Roxanne It's been a very long time.'' ''What the fuck is happening, who are you and who is this Roxanne?'' The man chuckled. ''You don't remember anything huh? That is to be expected. That's the nasty drawback about reincarnation. But don't worry despite your little handicape I'm sure we will still have fun like old times. I think you had your beauty sleep long enough. It's time for the Peace Dreamer to come back.'' He pointed his gun at my head. I tried to run but each time I tried he just reappeared in front of me. He could have killed me at any moments but he seemed to enjoy playing with me. ''How far you have fallen Roxanne. Your name used to make kingdoms crumble, it putted fear into the hearts of gods and now you're left running from a fellow Dreamer.'' I didn't even try to understand the nonsense he was spouting I just continued to run. The man sighed. ''Okay enough of this. THE WORLD!'' Suddenly my body was froze in time I could still see and hear but I couldn't move at all. The man chuckled as he reappeared in front of me. ''You don't know for how long I wanted to say that. You thought I was a simple psycopath but it was me Dio!'' He waited for my reaction but being frozen in time tend to make it hard to show any expressions. ''Oh don't be such a downer you're only gonna die it's not the end of the world.'' He said as if he was talking about a simple visit to the dentist. ''Okay here how it's gonna work once I kill you I will let you live for one year. but after that I'm gonna come back and I'm gonna try to kill you again. If you survive we might have a chance otherwise I will have to do plan B. See you soon.'' How the fuck would he see me in a year if I was dead? I never got to asked the question before he pointed his gun on my head. *Bang* - - - - - When I died I expect to only see black. Instead what I saw was the color purple. I looked around but there was nothing. I looked down and saw people very far down. That's when I realised I was high up in the sky. With a startle yelp I leaped in the air but as I came back down I notice I was touching a invisible ground and was in no danger of falling. I could see throught my own hand which was very weird and I couldn't feel the weight of my body at all. It was then that I saw a very beautiful woman with a pair of angelic wings aproach me. I gawked in wonder. ''A-are you an angel?'' I asked I felt like I wasn't worthy of being in her presence. And I really hoped she couldn't read mind because despite being dead my mind still knew when a girl was hot. The woman smiled gently. ''Pure angels have been exctincts for milennia but we demi-angels have fullfilled their role in their stead. I regret to inform you that you are dead. But this is not the end merely a new begining. We are in the Veil the starting point of any worlds. From here you can choose your next life. Would you rather keep your memories or start anew?'' ''Huh?'' I asked dumbly. If the demi-angel was annoyed at me she didn't show it. She showed me two fingers. ''There are two types of worlds in the multiverse the Gaia branch and the Kira branch. The Gaia follow the same rules as your world you are born you get older and then you die rinse and repeat. The Kira branch of the multiverse however let you reincarnate as much as you like as long as you keep your memories.'' ''The Kira branch sound like it would have serious overpopulation issues.'' I said. ''Maybe in a isolated world like yours. But the Kira branch is connected to the multiverse. Which mean that any world that become too crowded can move some of it's population to another world... So which world do you want to go in?'' With a determine stare I replied. ''I want to go on a world where no humans has ever set foot!'' I replied excitedly. ''Mmmh there not many world like that. No offense to you, but humans reproduce like bunny. They're all over the multiverse. But here what I could find.'' Three images magically appeared in front of me. One was a universe simply called 'Robots' where all the inhabitant were robots (obviously). Another was called Mechonis and Bionis. While humans existed in that world they were technically called Homs. She must be really fishing the bottom of the barrel if she presented me a world were they was only technically no humans. Finally the final world was called Equestria. I was familiar with that world it was the country of a show I watched from time to time but did I really wanted to go there for the rest of my life? With a shrug I said to myself why the heck not it's not like I would fit in with a bunch of sapient machines and homs still counted as humans in my book. Without further hesitation I pressed on Equestria. The demi-angel suddenly took a business-like tone. ''Okay do you want the Gaia version of this world or the Kira version?'' There was no point to go in a different world if I didn't remember that I want to explored it, so I replied Kira. ''Before you go I must warn you, your body is not made to go in a world with high level of magic like this world. If you want to go there your soul will need to be placed in a magical body to survive. Preferably you would need to become one of the species inhabiting this world is this okay with you? If you accept you won't be able to sue The Council should you change your mind later.'' There lawsuit in the afterlife? Suddenly it feel a lot less mystical. With a bit of trepidation I accepted. As soon as I accepted I lost consciousness. How could a spirit lose consciousness I didn't know the only thing I knew was that life would never be the same. > The Council > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As I woke up I felt wrong and right at the same time. For one thing I didn't have fingers anymore and I felt more limbs than I'm used to. That felt wrong. But at the same time there was a strong yet gentle feeling close to my heart it felt familiar almost nostalgic and yet completely new. ''You must feel weird right now.'' The voice from the woman from before said. ''That is to be expected you were transferred in your new body. You are now a pony, a Pegasus to be exact.'' There so much I wanted to ask but I felt too disoriented to talk. The Demi-Angel continued to talk. ''You won't be able to move for a few minutes your soul is still adjusting to it's new home. Let me explain a few things while you recover. Oh! I never introduce myself didn't I? I am Gavreel and I am a demi-angel, we have serve the Elders for millenia most of us are knights. But I am simply a doctor, I dislike conflict so medicine was the best path for me. Anyway back to your situation. You are now a Pegasus I am sorry if you are displease with what you are but we didn't chose what you would become. Your soul chose the tribe you're going to be. We tried to change someone race before but it just end up with them having the wrong kind of magic in the wrong body.'' I began to regain my vision the blurriness melt away and I was left looking at the beautiful woman in front of me. I still could not move though. ''Speaking of magic you must have felt it didn't you? That comforting glow close to your heart? This is your spark the center of your soul. It's always been there but you're just now noticing it because it started becoming stronger due to being exposed to magic.'' I was starting to be able to move once again But I still felt really dizzy. ''You will soon be able to go to Equestria but before you go you should go see The Council. They will explain to you a few rules you must follow and will give you sufficient funds to start your new life. Now I must go, there is plenty of other dead people I must attend to. You can leave when you're ready.'' With that Gavreel left me alone in what I assume was a hospital room. I rubbed the back of my head with a hoof. Man this is weird. To be honest I half expected to wake up in my bed. It's true what they say reality is stranger than fiction. I got out of bed. My legs shook as I tried to get used to the new body. I looked at my wings only for them to open and hit me in the face. I spit out a feather and looked at a mirror in front of me. I didn't know if it was just my imagination but everything looked more colorful. Almost as if the world was animated. Maybe ponies eyes saw the world differently than humans? I looked at myself. I thought I looked pretty good but then again I'm not really a expert as what would pass as good in Equestria. I had a green mane with three black streaks, same for my tail, my eyes were blue and my coat was gray. A little mundane for Equestria standards but I didn't mind it. With a sastified grin I took my first step as a Equestrian... And proceed to gracefully faceplant on the floor. With a groans I shakily rose back from the floor. I was glad Gavreel was gone that would have been embarrassing. With a bit of wandering and asking for directions I found myself at the entrance of The Council. A line was formed in front of two huge golden doors. The door had four symbols carved into them. The first one was a quill, the second was a tree, the third one was a skeleton wearing a cloak and holding a scythe and the last one was the Ying and Yang symbol In front of me were the most varied type of people I had ever seen. There were humans, elves, humanoid cats and dogs and I think I even saw a Zora from The Legend of Zelda. I wonder how many of them are natives and how many are people like me that chose a different life. I waited a hour before it was my turn to meet The Council. Once I stepped inside I was presented to four beings assembled around a table. The first one was a regal woman with green hair. She looked at me with a smile. There was something off with her expression but I couldn't quite place it The second one was a dark haired man wearing a cloak. He looked at me with a bored expression. The third one was old man with a very long beard. He held a neutral expression but I could see kindness hidden in his eyes. The last being was a giant glowing orb floating above them all. The orb was mostly white but a few colors was visible from time to time. ''Welcome to The Council of The Gods.'' The woman said. ''I am Gaia Elder Goddess of life.'' ''I am Kira Elder God of death.'' The bored man replied, ''I am Harmony Elder God of balance.'' The old man said. ''And I am Author Elder God of creation.'' The orb finally said. The way Author talked was really weird it was as if dozens of voices both males and females talked at the same time it was really creepy to be honest. The orb continued to talk. ''We the four creators of all life welcome you to the Veil the center of the multiverse. Before you go to your next life we would like to tell you a few laws you must follow.'' The... Thing cleared it's throat. ''Firstly the usual murder, rape, thievery are still not allowed. While murder does not have the same consequences as the Gaia branch killing innocents is still a serious crime and you will be punished accordingly. On the other hand if you kill criminals the consequences will be a lot lesser than in your world but I still don't recomend it. Finally the most serious crime you can commit stealing someone soul. If you ever do that you will be sent straight to the Wasteland prison, am I understood?'' He said menacingly I nodded nervously. ''Good glad we could get that out of the way. Those were the basic universal laws of the multiverse for the rest you will have to follow the laws of any worlds you visit. Now the council will give you five thousands bits to start your life. Do not waste them, it might seem like a lot but once you buy a home these bits will disappear quicker than you can imagine.'' With that a bag containing many coins made of gold appeared in front of me along with a saddlebag. The bearded man was the one to talk next. ''You're going to the world of Equis right? Good choice I always had a soft spot for that world.'' He said with a fond smile. The hooded man rolled his eyes. ''Making hundred of copies of the same world is not what I would call a 'soft spot' Harmony this is a obsession'' ''Now, now children not in front of our guest.'' Author scolded them the both of them shut up. The giant orb turned his attention on me. ''Now you may go, You should proceed into the Great Hall of Worlds. Each world is represented by a symbol if you don't know what the symbol of Equis is I put a picture in your saddlebag. We might meet once again one day. But until that day I wish you a good life young one.'' With a thank you I left The Council chamber and walked in searched of this hall. - - - - - The Great Hall was different than I imagined, for one thing it was outside and secondly there was no wall or anything just doors floating in the air each of them marked with a symbol some of them I recognised from popular fictions other I didn't recognize at all. I looked at the picture Author gave me and I instantly recognize it. It was the flag of Equestria. Celestia and Luna forming a circle along with the Sun and the Moon. Harmony said he was fonded of Equis. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the flag of Equestria is very similar to his symbol of the Ying and Yang. I had to walked a long time before I found my door and when I got there I saw mutliple doors leading to different Equestria. Now what? How should I decide which Equestria I go to? But I notice that while most of the door had similar symbol there was slight difference in each of them. Some doors only had Celestia controlling both the Sun and Moon, on others it was only Luna, some had Luna controlling the Sun and Celestia controlling the Moon. The coloration were also slightly different on each of them. I looked at the picture in my saddlebag once again and found the matching door. There must be a reason why they chose this Equestria for me specifically right? With a nervous gulp I opened the door and stepped into my new life. > The Griffonia Kingdom Part 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As soon as I arrived the Sun almost blinded me. Before I could see anything thought I could hear many things. I could hear the busy chatter of many people, there was a saleman screaming over the crowd advertising his wares and I could hear the clangs of a hammer hitting hot metal. When my vision cleared I expected to see ponies instead I was presented with hundred of griffins busily going throught their day. ''Did I take the wrong door?'' I asked myself confused beyond belief. A griffin claded in silver armor stepped in front of me. ''You must be Peace Dreamer We've been expecting you.'' ''Huh? My name isn't Peace Dreamer.'' The griffin frowned at that. ''Really? Because the papers we received from The Council said that it was your name. If it isn't what is your name?'' ''My name is-'' I was about to respond but I came on blank. Wait what is my name? How could I forget that?! ''I... don't remember.'' The Griffin looked at me with a questioning expression but then shrugged. ''Well until you do remember we will keep your name as Peace Dreamer it will keep things less complicated. Now since you're a pony I assume you want to go to Equestria correct?'' ''Yeah, to be honest I expected the door to lead me in Equestria right away.'' I said and the griffin chuckled. ''Yeah but the thing is most ponies are pretty useless in a fight and if something or someone really dangerous came out of the Veil it would be a massacre. So The Council decided to put the portal here in Griffonstone the Griffonya capital and in exchange they pay the military of our country a handsome amount of money.'' Griffonstone why was that name so familiar? And why is my memory of Earth so fuzzy? Is that normal for people who died or is something's wrong with me? ''Speaking of dangerous things. A gang of trolls came out of the Veil last night between the guards shifts they have been attacking the railroad all day. So we had to cancel the trains going to Equestria. You might want to reserve a room at a inn. You could also try to get to Equestria by flying but it would probably take all day to get there.'' Great just great I just came in this world and arleady luck abandoned me. I looked at my saddlebag. I don't know how expensive the inns are here but it would probably cut into the bits I need to start my life in Equestria. With a resigned sigh I decided to go by flying. Without any delay I opened my wings and dashed into the air. - - - - - In retrospect this was a really stupid idea. I had been in the air for two minutes now and I was doing horribly. I didn't know the right timing to flap my wings I either flapped too hard or too slow. It was only a matter of time before I crashed. ''Stupid Council why did they make me a Pegasus do they want to kill me?! Even a Earth Pony probably would have been a better idea! At least I would have had the stamina to run all the way through Griffonya and I wouldn't risk crashing!'' So focused in my thought and the flapping of my wings I did not see the tree in front of me before it was too late. ''AHHHHH!'' With a loud thud I crashed face first into the three and landed back on the ground on my flank. I groaned in pain and muttered to myself. ''Yes let's go to the land of magical pony it will be a great adventure and everything will be great! What the fuck was I thinking? I should have gone to Hyrule or something at least I wouldn't have to deal with all this shit.'' I glared at my wings almost expecting them to laugh at me. I shook my head I must have hit myself pretty hard if I'm expecting wings to be sentient. With a snort I decided I would walk instead. I almost wanted to reconsider and make my way back to Griffonstone and stay the night there. But if I can't even walk across Griffonya what are the chances I ever become a real adventurer? With a smile I realised that things weren't so bad. I was in a real honest to God fantasy world. And I was probably in the most pleasant one I knew. Equestria was dangerous enough to be exciting but also peaceful enough to not make the adventure too overhelming. Beside I wouldn't be the one to deal with the world-ending villains there were heroes much more qualified than me arleady on the job. Thinking about heroes should I visit the Mane Six right away or should I wait to be better established? I can't expect them to drop everything and help me I mean heck they might not even like me at all this is not a fan fiction and I'm not a main character. To them I will be just another one of the thousands of fanboys they had. With a shrug I decided to meet them anyway. I mean what the worst that could happen? Beside before I start my adventure I want a house I can return to. If I'm lucky I might get a house in Ponyville. But where should I go if they don't have a place for me? Bah! I'll worry when the time come, now I should focus on the journey ahead. My ears shot straight up when I hears a weird popping sound. I didn't have the time to think of how weird it was to have mobile ears because my heart nearly stopped when I saw who appeared behind me. ''Hello Dreamy did you miss me?'' Before me stood the same lunatic that killed me a few hours ago. ''YOU!'' Without a thought I charged at him and tried to punch him in his ugly smug face. But he dodged my every moved as if it was nothing with another pop he disappeared and reappeared farther away. He chuckled and made a mocking smile directed at me. ''Dreamy, Dreamy, Dreamy do you really expect to beat me as you are now? You're barely understand how your new body work if you didn't have a chance back in your old body you have even less of a chance now.'' ''I don't care I will still kill you!'' I tried to charged at him again and he looked at me with a bored expression. ''THE WORLD!'' Oh no, not again. Once again he had froze time all around me but for some reasons I could still see and hear everything that was happening. ''Don't pretend you're unhappy Dreamy I know how you work. Being in the humans world was a torture for you wasn't it? You were born at the wrong place at the wrong time, Too late to explore the earth too soon to explore space. All the adventures was arleady done and over with. You were a man of action stuck in a world of routine and dead-end jobs. ''But here! In the ever expanding multiverse there is no limits and no constraints don't pretend you're not happy to have left that boring unchanging world!" ''How could I be happy you separated me from everyone I cared about!'' I screamed at him my face was flushed with anger. He smirked at me. ''Everyone you cared about huh? Can you name me one of the people you cared about?'' ''My... Sister!'' I responded defiantly. With a bigger smirked he asked. ''What... Is her name? ''I, I...'' ''What. Is. Her. Name?'' He asked pausing between each words. ''What did you do to me! How can I not remember?!'' I asked in rage. The man smirked. ''You were far too attached to these boring humans so I did you a service and made you forget them.'' With that said he putted a hand in his pocket and presented me a glowing crystal. ''This soul catcher contain a part of your soul I took with me when I killed you. It contain all the important memories of your life. Now all you remember is the basic knowledge of Earth, Equestria and a few other 'Fictional' universe so you wouldn't be completely lost once you got here.'' ''Give that back!'' I screamed my face was contorting in rage. The man seemed to think about it for a second. ''Nah. Believe me the less you remember about your boring old life the better. Do you like the new name I chose for you? Peace Dreamer it has such a nice ring to it don't you think?'' ''You're the one who changed my name?! Why are you doing all this?! I never did anything to you! I don't even know you!'' With a pop he appeared just in front of me. I had a strong urge to punch him but I was still frozen. ''You might not know me Dreamy. But believe me I know more about you than you know yourself. I am a time traveller I have seen the past and future of thousands of worlds in my lifetime and before I die I will see thousands more. But the Veil as a whole no matter how much I travel always has the same future. Do you know how boring it is to see the same outcome again and again? That's why I chose you Dreamy. You are my wild card. A curse was placed upon your soul a long time ago never permiting you to go into the Veil and forced you to reincarnate in the Gaia branch again and again forever. I broke that curse and now fate has changed. I can't wait to see how the events will play out.'' I will not pretend I understood half of what he said but if I understood corectly he was using me for something. ''And what if I decide to not do anything to change your so called fate wouldn't that be annoying?'' I asked sarcastically with a bitter frown. I didn't want to sacrifice my adventure but I would do anything to spite this psycopath. ''Tsk, tsk, tsk.'' He said while waving his finger at me. ''You can't do that remember? I gave you one year to live your life here. In one year I'm coming back to kill you. You can't sit on your rump and do nothing you must become stronger or killing you will be even more boring than the first time.'' He was so sure of himself that son of a bitch, he piss me off so much! ''Oh! How rude of me I never introduced myself. You can call me Time Skip, do not worry Dreamy this will not be the last time you see me before your year his gone, but until then goodbye.'' ''Wait!'' What am I doing I shouldn't stop him from leaving! Time Skip turned to me with a questioning grin. ''You called me Roxanne back on Earth what did you mean?'' ''Oh, so you remember that, huh? Let just say that Roxanne is both you and not you at the same time. She's someone with a heavy legacy and you are her last heir. I won't say any more but you might come to understand one day.'' With that he left with a pop and time returned to normal. My legs gave out and I fell on the grass. I groaned as the adrenaline crashed down and I was left trying to calm my rapidly beating heart. ''What did I ever do to deserve this?'' I asked the heavens but receive no response. With a sigh I lift myself back on all four and continued the journey. I hoped it would be the last time I meet Time Skip but I knew it was just wishful thinking, he would be back I was sure of it. > The Griffonia Kingdom Part 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- My legs were begining to ache. I didn't know for how long I had been walking maybe two or three hours. Relief washed over me as a small town came into view. Finally I could relax for a little while. The streets were a lot less busy than in Griffonstone. I could see a old female griffin sitting in a rocking chair. A few younger griffins were walking around the village they stared at me curiously but looked away a few seconds later. I could hear another blacksmith busily working in the town. Seem like smithing is popular in this country. Thus far the Griffonia kingdom seem to be stuck in the middle age era. I wonder what sort of technology they have here? Were they really like the middle age or was their technological advancement as weird as Equestria with a mix of every era? I was about to ponder more when I heard a argument further into town. Curious I walked in direction of the voices. What I saw surprised me. There was a male griffin arguing with what looked like two horribly mutated green men. The two things were more muscular than anyone I had ever seen their iron armors were barely able to contain their oversized body. One of them carried a huge axe while the other carried a very long and thick sword. Their armor and weapons were very crude with no decoration at all as if it was made at the last minute. The young griffin standing in front of them looked like a lost kitty compared to the two giant and I say that knowing full well that he was larger than me. I didn't know where the griffin confidence came from he was clearly outmatched and the only weapon he had, if you could even called it that. Was a violin's bow. Their conversation became heated and without warning one of the green man swung his axe at his smaller opponent. The griffin effortlessly dodged the attack. Which is good because judging by the crater the weapon left on the ground no one would have survived that hit. I just now noticed that the Griffin had a violin strapped onto his back, that doesn't seem to be the type of things you should bring in a fight. To my surprise he took the violin and played a short but intense tune. I was puzzled why was he wasting his time playing music in a situation like this? But it was then that the violin began to glow and a bolt of lightning struck the green beast. The elecrticity coursed throught his armor. I was sure it would kill him but it mereley made the beast enraged more. The griffin played the same tune again but this time the monster was smart enough to get out of the way. The half lion half eagle creature huffed in annoyance. He strapped back the violin on his back and took a fighting stance with his violin's bow. He pressed a small button on the side of the bow and I was shocked when a thin but long blade erupted from the violin's bow. Who would be crazy enough to put a blade inside a violin's bow? I was about to watch more but I heard the clang of armor just behind me. On instinct I jumped away from the sound. A second later I was very grateful for my quick reaction because the second beast has snuck behind me and his blade created another crater where I was standing a second ago. I tried to run away but the thing was surprisingly quick for how big it was. Having no other choice I flapped my wings and tried to get out of reach of his massive sword. I still didn't knew how to fly but I knew enough to stay afloat for a little while. I wanted to fly far away from here but each time I tried to move my flying became dangerously unstable. After a while I gave up as much as I wanted to escape I could not afford to crash right now when a monster was waiting for me to come down. The beast clearly getting annoyed at my antics grabbed his sword tightly and began to spin on himself. When he gained enough momentum he released his sword. With a yelp I dodged the projectile which planted itself on the tree behind me. Unfortunately by dodging the attack I lost control of my flight and crashed on the ground with a thud. The beast grinned evily at me as he punched repeatedly the palm of his hand. But before he could reach me I heard the familiar tune once again and the green man was stuck by lightning. I looked at the griffin. He was standing triumphantly over the body of the other beast. In a rage the monster ran toward the griffin and picked up the axe of his fallen comrade. I could tell my savior was skilled but he was tired from his first fight and he had to dodge every attack. He could probably not block any of them otherwise his small blade would break as if it was a twig. I needed to help him, but how? I looked up at the sword still stuck inside the tree. It was a stupid idea but it was the only plan I had. I flapped my wings once again and came face to face with the hilt of the giant sword. I putted both hooves on the sword and tried to pull as hard as I could. For a brief second I wondered if I would become King of Griffonia if I could take the sword. Nah probably not, this sword was nowhere near as fancy as Excalibur. The only thing I would become with a sword like that was a berserker or something. When the sword finally came loose from the tree I instantly regretted it. This thing was heavy I was a few meters away from crashing once again before I regained enough focus to started ascending once again. Slowly and painfully I made my way where the green man and the griffin were figthing. As I aproached the griffin saw what I was planning. His moral seem to lift now that a plan was in motion. He made sure that all the attention of the beast was on him. The clang of metal hitting metal became more frequent but I was too focuse on my tasked to see if the battle was in our favor. Finally I arrived above the green monster. I took my time to aim the weapon at the right spot. We only had one chance at this after all. When I felt confident I released the sword from my grip. With how heavy the weapon was it rapidly gained momentum before arriving at it's destination. I winced as the sword tored effortlessly trought the beast's helmet and planted itself into the monster's skull. The thing never saw it coming his body fell on the ground with a heavy clang of his armor. With a sigh of relief I glided down on the ground and let myself fall on the soft, soft grass. Well at least I couldn't say I never had an adventure anymore. I resist the urge to vomit as the adrenaline left my body. The last thing I heard before losing consciousness was the voice of the griffin. ''That was a nice save! You're alright for a pony...'' And then everything went black. - - - - - When I woke up it was now the afternoon. The griffin had started a fire and I was resisting the urge to gag as I smelled something fool burning. When I looked up I saw that he was burning the bodies of the two beasts. I looked at the bodies at first with pride that I was able to kill something as though as this but then I felt guilt. The griffin seemed to notice that something was wrong. ''Are you okay? I know you pony don't like the smell of meat burning.'' ''I never killed someone before.'' I replied with a haunted voice. ''Don't worry about it they deserved it, bastards.'' He replied casually. I looked at him aghast. ''They might have been assholes but they might have family waiting for them at home! They will never see them again! We just killed sapients being you can't just shrug it off!'' The griffin seemed confused at first but then realisation struck him. ''Wait are you by chance from the Gaia branch?'' ''Yes? What does that have to do with anything?'' He shooked his head and looked at me with a condescending expression. ''Didn't they tell you we are immortal? Relax I did not have a finisher with me they will be okay, not that they deserve it.'' ''Finisher?'' I asked, okay what the fuck was he talking about now? Maybe he's just trying to confuse me? ''A finisher is a magical crystal made in the form of a skull it absorb the soul of someone that's been killed and disperse their magic in the atmosphere permanently killing them. But since we did not do that they will come back.'' He responded in a matter-of-fact tone. ''Come back? How are they suppose to come back you're burning their body!'' He faceclawed. ''I swear they should make a The Kira Branch for Dummy book.'' He muttered under his breath. ''Look as long as these trolls have their memory intact their souls will recreated their body as if nothing happened. I don't know why you're so worried about them anyway they are Soul Reapers trolls.'' ''Soul Reaper what's that?'' I asked. ''What do you mean what are the Soul Reapers do you live under a rock?!'' I gave him a deadpan galre. ''Oh right. The Soul Reapers are a terrorist organisation that collect dangerous things called the Shards of Life so they can overthrow The Council. These trolls we just fought? Their species represent at least half of the fighting power of the organisation.'' ''Why were they after you?'' I asked curiously. ''You're one curious pony huh? Let's just say my family has something they value and let's leave it at that. So I answered your questions now it's my turn. What is a pony doing all the way in this small village? Not many ponies settle in Griffonia normally they go straight to Equestria, Neightpon or Prance.'' ''I would have gone to Equestria direcly but it seem our friends the trolls have attacked the railroad all day and they had to cancel the train.'' He cocked his head. ''Why would you need the train anyway? You're a Pegasus no? Couldn't you just fly all the way?'' ''Give me a break I just got this body today I don't know how to fly yet!'' I glared at him did he think I was stupid or something? ''Whoa, whoa! Don't get you panties in a twist! I just assumed you were arleady a pony before coming here!'' Oh... In retrospect that would make sense. ''So... What were you before coming here?'' He asked with a curious expression. ''... I was a human.'' I expected for him to act surprised instead he rolled his eyes. ''I should have guess as much, you guys are everywhere.'' He replied and then he looked as if he remembered something. ''Oh yeah! My name is Sonata by the way. What yours?'' ''Peace Dreamer.'' I replied after a few seconds of hesitation. As mush as I dislike using the name that asshole had made for me it was a pretty cool name. ''That doesn't sound like a human name.'' Sonata replied. ''I would tell you but for some reasons I don't remember my name.'' I knew exactly why I forgot but I didn't really want to tell my situation to a total stranger. ''Well that suck but look on the bright side. With your new name you won't have any issue fitting in with the grass eaters.'' He then looked as if he had accidently said something offensive. ''Sorry I shouldn't call ponies that. I'm not a racist I swear but when you're surounded by bigots all your life you pick up some bad habits.'' I was curious about what he was talking about but I didn't ask I didn't want to touch that minefield. With a sigh I lift myself on all four and began to walk away. ''Well it was nice to meet you Sonata but I should get going the day isn't getting any younger.'' ''Wait!'' Sonata shouted behind me. I turned around to see him running at me. ''You're going to Equestria right? Let's go together.'' I looked at him in confusion. ''Why do you want to come with me? Don't you have people waiting for you at home?'' Sonata sighed. ''Look my dream has always been to play violin in front of a crowd. Unfortunately Griffonia doesn't care for art. All they care about is gold and violence. The only reason I was able to get this violin was because I could convince my family I could be a better warrior if I used musical enchantments. ''I wanted to go to Equestria for a long time but I was always afraid I would be all alone with a bunch of strangers once I got there. I know we just met but we are are brother of arms now and to griffins that means a lot. So can we travel together? At least until we reach Equestria?'' I didn't take a long time thinking about it. Thus far the road was pretty lonely and if I encountered anything as dangerous as these trolls I would be fucked without him. ''Sure you can come with me but I must warn you I don't know how to fly at all.'' Sonata smirked at that. ''I noticed I would say you were doing okay for a beginner but I was taught to not lie.'' I punched him on the shoulder but he only chuckle in returned. With that I resumed my journey to Equestria with a new ally in tow. > The Griffonia Kingdom Part 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ''Tell everybody I'm on my way! New friends and new places to see! With blue skies ahead yes, I'm on my way! And there's nowhere else that I'd rather be!'' I sang loudly for everyone to hear. ''Dream shut up or I'll punch you!'' Sonata warned with a growl. ''Tell everybody I'm on my- OW!'' ''I told you to shut up!'' Sonata replied angrily before quickening his steps and walked ahead of me. ''For someone who want to make music for the rest of his life you sure don't seem to apreciate it.'' I said with a frown. ''I'm fine with music. But singing like a idiot is just asking to be whisked away in a heartsong. Do you know how annoying and embarasing it is to be caught in a random choreography?'' I looked at him as if he had grown a second head. ''Wait those things are real? I though that only happened in cartoons!'' Sonata rolled his eyes. ''Well unless you didn't noticed our universe is kind of based on a cartoon called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.'' He said the title with disgust. Can't say I blame him. Kinda hard for a warrior to be taken seriously when he come from a world based on a cartoon for little girls. ''And Harmony in his infinite wisdom.'' He continued sarcastically. ''Decided that heartsong should be a aspect that the magic of our world enforce.'' ''Wait people are aware that they come from a fictional universe isn't that awkward?'' I asked him He only shrugged in response. ''Nah not really. The Elders are many things but they don't have enough imagination to create millions of worlds by themself so they borrow a lot of ideas from fiction. Our world is based on fiction but we're not a fictional world. We still have free will, we are not contolled by a writer so don't be surprised if things are different than in the show. Also even if you don't know it there are very good chances that the world you came from is also based on a fictional work.'' So my life could be based on a fictional work too? It seem a little hard to believe to be honest. My world doesn't seem interesting enough to be based on something fictional. Then again since I was probably not the main protagonist it would explain why my life was so boring. I was probably just a background character. ''That doesn't make sense thought if you really have free will how come everyone from the show still exist? Wouldn't the chances of their parents ending up together in each worlds be incredibly slim? Not only that but this world seem a lot older than the show how could you build an entire civilisations when the show is only seven years old?'' Sonata sighed. ''You really are one curious pony huh? Normally I would tell you go read a book on the subject or something but since we're on the road we might as well kill time be explaining I guess.'' ''Look when I said we had free will it wasn't a lie but it wasn't entirely true either. Each of us including you are control by a destiny. We can break free of that destiny if we want to and do something else. But people rarely do that going against destiny is like going against a primal instinct it feel wrong for a long time when you do it. Really the only instinct stronger than destiny is the instinct to survive.'' ''Also didn't you say you didn't remember your human life how do you remember the show is seven years old?.'' ''...I don't know it seem like the only things I forgot are about my personal life I remember a lot of other basic things about fictional work and how my world work.'' ''That's weird.'' Sonata replied but he didn't ask for more. ''Anyway it's true that the show isn't that old and yet our world has existed for more than ten thousand years. The reasons for that is that Harmony is a oracle he can see things far ahead in the future that's how he keep the balance in different worlds.'' ''So does every single fictional works have a world of their own?'' I asked eagerly this could be interesting. Sonata shook his head. ''Nah the Elders made worlds for most fictional world but they have strict rules to not make certain type of worlds. The Elders are not allowed to create worlds that is based solely on the suffering of living beings, like post-apocalyptic worlds or horror stories. but apart from that everything is fair game.'' ''Why are they so fixated to base their worlds on fiction anyway?'' I asked curiously. ''Well they're many benefits to base worlds on fictions. For one like I said they don't have to think of a world from scatches since a lot of the works has arleady been done by authors. It also make it easier for the multiverse to adapt to a new world appearing when we know what that world is all about. But also it make nerds like you happy so the tourism industry go around.'' ''Hey I'm not a nerd!'' I replied with a huff. Sonata snorted in amusement. ''Please, you're a human that was ready to abandon his own species just so you could visit the land of magical ponies. You're probably the biggest nerd I ever met and my brother is a scientific for the Queen.'' I wanted so hard to think of a inteligent reply to make his smug face go away, but I couldn't think of anything. With a huff I walked ahead and Sonata snickered behind my back. - - - - - We had walked all day. We didn't encountered any town. We realised that the journey would take more than a week if I didn't learn how to fly. So that night we stopped for the day and practiced flying. ''AHHHHH- OW!'' I faceplanted for what felt like the hundredth time. Sonata guffawed like he usually did. I groaned remind me again why I wanted this jackass to travel with me? ''What am I doing wrong I flap them exactly like bird!'' I shouted angrily. Sonata rolled his eyes. ''Sorry to break your bubble but you're not a bird, Dream. Pegasi wings are too small to fly the normal way you need magic to lift in the air.'' ''I don't know how to make magic!'' I replied in annoyance. ''Well I can't say I'm a expert in magic and all but I had a Unicorn friend once. He said the most important parts about magic is imagination, will and knowledge.'' ''How am I suppose to have knowledge when this is the first time I do this?!.'' He only shrugged in response. Thank so much Sonata you're so helpful. I though sarcastically - - - - - We walked all day once again. Today nothing much happened. But my legs were killing me by the end of it. We stayed in front of a lake for the night. This time we practiced flying above the water it was a lot less painful when I fell from the sky. I learned that pegasi feathers are waterproof though I'm not sure if it's because of natural oil like ducks or if it's magic. I was begining to get the hang of flying. The trick was not to command my magic to fly, but instead I needed to think of myself as weightless as a feather. Tomorrow we would begin to fly instead of walking all the way. - - - - - Thus far we made a lot more progress than we ever would on hoof. The sensation of defying gravity as the wind rushed through my mane and tail was like nothing I ever felt before. I take back everything I said about being a pegasus instead of a earth pony sure it would have been easier at first but nothing could beat the rush I was feeling right now. This is the excitement I had been looking for all my life! Sonata turned at me with a smirk. ''This is pretty good for your first time flying. But you're still pretty slow if you were experienced we could go double the speed we're going right now.'' We passed multiple towns that day some smaller than the village I had find Sonata some bigger but none were as big as Griffonstone. Our travel were interupted when we heard a pack of wolves howling in the distance. Soon enough we saw four wolves and they were chasing... A cat? But that wasn't the strangest thing about the scene. ''Is that cat holding a knife in it's mouth?'' I asked baffled. ''Well the animals of Equis are pretty smart compared to the ones in human worlds.'' Sonata replied. ''Then we can'ty let the wolves eat that cat!'' I replied with conviction. The griffin rolled his eyes. ''Why do we care what happen to that cat it will respawn anyway Beside we shouldn't mess with nature if we defend every prey the predators will starve over and over again.'' ''Well griffins can do what they want. But I'm not letting a poor animals get killed on my watch.'' With that I charged at the pack. Sonata groaned behind me. ''Ponies.'' He muttered under his breath. I landed with a loud thump on the head of the leader of the pack. Unfortunately since I'm a pegasus I didn't weight that much which meant I only managed to enraged the wolf. They all growl at me forgeting their old prey instead focusing on the much bigger and meatier one. Sonata rolled his eyes and began to play his violin before the leader could bite my face off he was struck by a bolt of lightning and died instantly. The other wolves yipped in shock and ran away with their tail between their legs. Sonata landed beside me with a angry frown. ''You're an idiot you know that? I know this body is stronger than your old one but it doesn't make you invinsible only a fool would attack wolves without a weapon!'' I rubbed the back of my head in embarassment he was right on all account, what was I thinking? I just saw a innocent cat and charged without thinking, ''Thank you for saving me they would have rip me apart.'' A small feminine voice said behind me. I looked back and only saw the cat. Who was talking to me? To my surprise the small black cat extended her paw. ''My name is Soft Paw nice to meet you.'' ''Y-you can talk?!'' I cried in shock. ''Yeah I get that a lot.'' The cat replied drily. I turned to Sonata. ''You said animal are smarter in this world but do cat usually talk?'' Sonata shook his head he looked as confused as me. ''I can talk because of my old master.'' Soft Paw replied. ''He was studying how the shards of life could affect animals I was his first test subject. But before he could finish his notes the Soul Reapers barged into his lab and just killed him.'' The Soul Reaper again? ''What is a shard of life?'' I asked Soft Paw. The cat looked at me as if I had grown a second head. ''He's from the Gaia branch.'' Sonata explained helpfully. Understanding flooded her expression. ''Well that's a long story maybe I'll tell you another time. So! As I said I lost my old master and all. And since you just save me I'll make you the honor of becoming my new servant.'' Soft Paw said with a air of royalty. Sonata snickered at me. Meanwhile I was stuck between being offended and finding her adorable. Finally the adorable side won and I hugged the small cat. - - - - - Soft Paw looked down. That was a mistake, the cat yelped and I had to hold her tighter to stop her from falling. ''Soft Paw relax or you'll fall to the ground!'' I screamed over the rushing wind. ''I never agreed to this servant! Put me on the ground this instant!'' ''If we don't fly it will take forever before reaching Equestria!'' I replied. ''I don't care put me down!'' It continued like this for a few hours until we reached a new town. Once I was in town I had to separate myself from a few of my precious bits in exchange for saddlebags. Once we were outside the store I putted Soft Paw in my saddlebags and our flight resume. She still didn't like flying at all. But she was okay as long as she didn't see the height we were at. We continued our route for the rest of the day until the sun disappeared and made way for the moon. I didn't notice yesterday but the moon was normal. No shape in the form of a mare. Which meant we were after the events of the first episode I wonder where we were on the timeline. I knew there was seven seasons but I seem to not remember anything past season two. Maybe it meant anything past that didn't happened yet in this world and Time Skip didn't want me to have knowledge of future events because of course the asshole wouldn't give me any advantage. Mmmh now that I think of it everyone are aware they are based on a show here I wonder if the mane six watched it and if they did does this mean they all know what's coming in the future? I shook my head let's not think about all that. Maybe I will be able to ask them once I arrived in Equestria. I can't wait to get there. I've been eating grass for two days and it doesnt taste as bad as I remembered as a human but it wasn't amazing either I couldn't wait to eat real food. With that thought I fell asleep eager to continue my journey tomorrow...
