> Prologue to Harmony > by TiXoL Seyerk > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 - The genesis of Nightmare Moon > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Behold, unworthy subjects as I, Princess Celestia raise the sun so you can make the food you so desperately need to live, unlike me, of course. – Said the almighty Princess of Canterlot as she used her powerful magic to raise the sun once again, as she did every day. She gave the same words to her subjects every single day, to remember them that she was the one in charge, and they could do nothing about it. The crowd that was witnessing the raise of the sun started sheering, not because they were happy, but because their princess told them so. They looked worriedly to each other, looking for someone that would do something about the tyranny of their “beloved” Princess. But no one did anything. They were weak because of the shortage of food they were having, and no one in all of Equestria had enough power to stand up against Celestia. She opened her eyes to look at her subjects. She wanted to know if someone would fight her this time, but, as always, nopony did anything. She smiled with satisfaction and went back to her room in the Canterlot Castle. Celestia walked through her Castle, while everypony saluted her with reverences. In her heart she was, however, a little sad. As she wandered through her Castle with no true objective, she remembered her parents. They had passed away only 6 months ago, and the scars in the mind of the Princess were still open. Her parents had left her a legacy. To her and her sister Luna: Take care of the ponies in all of Equestria. They left them all of their possessions, including the castle. Every little corner in there brought memories to her mind: Her childhood, when she played with her sister, and the day she got her cutie mark raising the sun for the first time. Since then, she knew that someday, she was going to be the one responsible for the life in Equestria. But the moment came too soon, and she wasn´t ready. She didn´t feel ready. And, as the big sister, she didn’t have anyone to rely on. She was the maximum authority in the whole world, with no one above her. That had stressed her through the days, and she knew it. She knew that she was doing a bad job, that her people were unhappy. But she wasn´t worried. Although she knew the ponies in Canterlot were plotting a riot against her, she wasn´t scared. Because she knew as well that they didn´t have the guts to actually doing it. They feared her, and she was happy because of it. That’s why she took the job to say every single day how powerful she was, and how weak they were. If she didn’t have them in her hoof, she could lose her power. She was powerful indeed, but it would be useless against all those thousands of ponies. Celestia looked through a window, and saw some fillies playing and dancing while she tough to herself: -Maybe they will cancel the revolution if things continue like this. Everything will be ok Celestia; I don’t have to worry at all… ------------------------------------------------------- The whole day passed, and night came, and with it, the second ruler of Equestria: Princess Luna. Celestia could be around during day, and night. But Luna couldn’t. If she came out during the day, she could get seriously injured. The daylight was deadly against Luna. She was upset about that situation, but she couldn’t do anything about it. That’s why she only came at dawn, when the daylight was soft. It did hurt her, but not enough to kill her. She got out of her room in the castle, and stood in front of her subjects. They didn’t look at her. They were tired, and they knew Luna was no harm. She looked at them happily and said: -Citizens of Canterlot. We shall bring the night once more, so you can rest peacefully and continue your fun and games tomorrow. You shall return to your homes and sleep, as we, Luna, bring the night for you, our loyal subjects. As she said that, her eyes illuminated. She stood in two hooves and pointed her horn directly at the sky. Then, she fired a black beam to the sky, turning it all black. The sun was gone. After that, she fired a beam once again, and with great difficult, she brought the moon. She felt tired, and landed in her four hooves. She didn’t know if it had worked. She wasn’t as powerful as Celestia, and she wasn’t very experienced with the whole “bringing the night” issue. She looked up to see if the work was done, and smiled satisfied. After all, there was no possible way to practice that, and in only 6 months she had mastered it at an amazing level. She looked back to her subjects, but they were still not watching her. They were just leaving, with their heads down, and unhappiness in their eyes. Luna came back to the castle, worriedly asking herself: - If my big sis treats them so bad and tyrannically, then why do they love her so much? I do my best every night, and try to be as nice as can be, but it’s no use. They won’t respect me…they don’t even listen to me… She kept asking herself the same questions when she finally found her sister. Celestia was pretty relaxed. She was just standing there, eating a banana: - You did a really good job today sis. Maybe in 3 months you will be able to do it without pushing yourself so hard… Luna was no happy. She looked confused and frustrated. She looked at her sister directly in the eyes and asked: - Celestia, why do you have to be so mean with our citizens? They do nothing but worship you, like some sort of….sun…god… Celestia kept eating without looking at her sister: - Oh, Luna. I’m not a sun god, but if my subjects believe that, then it’s better that way, because that way, they will not riot against me. - You shouldn’t be so cold anyway. And that’s not all. You get the best part: You can go around at day and night, but if I do that, I will die. Literally. Besides, everypony plays and makes parties in your watch, and you only tell them how awesome you are instead of interacting with them. If I had that opportunity, I would treat them nice, be gentle, and play with them. But when I’m around everypony is sleeping! Celestia was listening but not looking: - You worry too much sis. You should relax. Can I offer you some fruit? Do you like bananas? I got bananas over here… - I don’t even like bananas! - No? Then more for me… - I think you’re taking this whole “rule Canterlot” thing a little too serious. What will happen when other villages are found? You will have more responsibility than ever. Now you can be a tyrant because there are no more than 5 thousand ponies living here. But when Equestria increases in population, you’re going down Now Celestia was serious. She looked Luna dead in the eye. That scared Luna for a moment: - Now listen here, little moon girl: I’m the ruler here, and I do what I must because I can. I did not choose this, but the job chose me. If they think I’m a tyrant, then let it be. I don’t care. Luna looked down. She never thought she would listen to her beloved sister talking like that. The power had clearly consumed her over, and there was no stepping back. Only forward. So she swallowed her sadness, and took the step forward. With tears in her eyes, she shouted to her sister: - I CAN’T BELIEVE WHAT I’M LISTENING NOW! YOU COULD USE YOUR POWER TO MAKE CANTERLOT A BETTER PLACE, AND CREATE HARMONY BETWEEN THE CITIZENS! I EVEN WIELDED THE ELEMENTS OF HARMONY BY YOUR SIDE, AND NOW IT LOOKS LIKE YOU FORGOT THEM ALL! NOW I’M STUCK IN THIS BASTARD NIGHT WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY TO MAKE ANY FRIENDS, WALKING ALONE IN THE DARKNESS! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE KIND OF OPORTUNITY YOU ARE WASTING! Celestia looked away. She knew that was true. She was doing an awful job. She wanted to cry, to hug her sister and ask for her help. To help her rule the place and tell her how to do it. But she couldn’t. Those feeling were deep away in her heart, and it was also covered by pride and desire of power. She knew those nice feelings should have got stronger. But they weren’t strong enough to melt her. She finally closed her eyes and said disturbingly quietly: - Get out. Luna was looking directly at her, with hatred in her eyes. Still crying, she said: - After all I said…after all those things…that is all you are going to say..? Celestia said quickly: - GET. OUT. Luna was becoming more and more angry. The hate against the neutrality in her sister became stronger. She wanted her to see, but Celestia was blind. Blinded by the power and the stress. Luna couldn’t hold it anymore: - I hate you…I HATE YOU!!! Celestia shouted away: - Guards! Get this mare out of my sight! Luna trotted quickly against her sister, but just when she was just about to strike her, Luna used her magic to transport herself behind Celestia. And just like that, Luna was gone. The last thing Celestia could remember from that meeting was Luna trotting fiercely against her, crying and screaming. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Celestia was wandering through the castle, worriedly. She looked everywhere, but Luna was nowhere to be found. She finally gave up, and went to sleep. Once in her room she thought to herself: - I only have 30 minutes to sleep… then, to raise the sun again. After all, the moon must be almost gone by now, right? Even when Luna was mad at me, she seemed pretty loyal to her subjects. She continued her duties and moved the moon right? – She started to fall asleep, when she suddenly opened her eyes - …right? She realized that even when it was almost morning, the night was darker than ever. She got up quickly and looked to the sky through the window in her room. What she saw paralyzed her. The moon was still there, in the middle of the sky, not moving a single bit. The moon was in the exact same position where Luna left it before the argument with her sister. Celestia got herself stressed: - The Moon is in the middle of the sky! It should be in the horizon by now! That childish girl… now she will have to push herself harder than ever to move that thing in 15 minutes! Oh, Luna, I will find you… and when I do, things won’t be pretty. With a dark, angry expression she trotted her way out, and onto Luna’s room. She thought that Luna didn’t move the moon because she was angry, stressed, or even that she locked herself in her room. After 5 minutes of endless trotting, she found her sister’s room. She knew they had no time, so she powerfully kicked the door, destroying it completely. She stepped inside Luna’s room, which was entirely dark. She couldn’t see anything. Only perfect, deep dark. She wasn’t completely sure her sister was there, but she shouted anyway: - Luna! What the hell is in your little pony mind!? Move that damn moon already. We only have 10 minutes before it’s time to raise the sun again! Raise that moon in this moment, or you will meet my fury! And then, there was silence. Nopony answered. Maybe her sister wasn’t in there after all. When she was about to get out of there, she heard a dark, emotionless voice coming out of the room: - I’m sorry Princess Celestia…but I’m afraid I can’t do that… Celestia turned back, facing the dark room once again. She said seriously: - Stop fooling around Luna. This isn’t about our relationship anymore; it’s about the life in all of Equestria. They need the sun to live, and I can’t raise it with the moon there. We only have 5 more minutes. Please, the life of all the living creatures in Equestria…no, the WHOLE WORLD depends on the decision you make in the next 5 minutes…don’t make the wrong one. Celestia could hear her sister sobbing inside the room. She wasn’t angry anymore, but she was worried about her sister. Luna replied: - You don’t understand sis… I’m not the pony you used to know anymore… I’ve changed… - Please Luna, this is imperative! We will solve our relationship problems, but later. With time. After you take the moon away and I raise the sun… While she said that, she heard the ponies gathering outside the castle. She also heard them asking to each other why the night was so dark, and why there was no sun yet. They were also wondering if the Princess would give them her demotivational speech this time. She looked away when she heard Luna saying: - Gather the ponies in the center of Canterlot, and tell them that the morning will delay…a little… - she was quiet a brief moment after that – I’ll be there soon… ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Celestia had all the ponies gathered. She had told them not to worry. That morning would delay a little, but there was going to be morning anyway. It wasn’t the response she was expecting, but nothing that could not be solved. The ponies were together staring at the spot they had prepared for Luna. She was supposed to use her magic at maximum power in order to move the moon in so little time. Everypony looked worried. They knew Luna wasn’t very powerful. She even had problems to raise the moon in a normal night. And this night, they were going to be witnesses of Luna’s maximum power. After a few minutes of uncomfortable silence, Luna made her appearance. But she didn’t look like Luna at all. She had an incredible amount of hate in her eyes. She was crying deeply. Her mane was all messy, and little dark lightning bolts were surrounding her. Celestia could feel the darkness in her sister’s heart. She whispered “oh, no…” to herself, as she realized the terrible mistake she had made. With tears coming constantly out of her eyes Luna looked angrily at the whole crowd. She took a deep breath, and said: - Citizens…we have finally realized what was wrong with this place, and decided to fix it. There shall be no more hunger in your minds, no more hate, and no more chaos… there shall be only peace and harmony…for you all, and for us, the royal rulers of Canterlot. The ponies started shouting and sheering in delight. They started dancing and singing. Finally the dark times had come to an end. They were all happy. All of them… except Celestia. She was looking worriedly at her wicked sister, because she knew what was going to happen next. Luna was quiet. No expression in her face. She had stopped crying. She had stopped sobbing. But the darkness was still surrounding her. She continued her speech with neutrality: - We have realized that the presence of my sister frightens you. During the day, you are all tired, and unhappy. But in your sleep, you are all in peace, and tranquility… So we decided to erase the presence of my sister and… Celestia shouted: - DON’T DO IT LUNA! PLEASE, DON’T DO IT! IT’S NOT THE KIND OF PEACE WE ARE LOOKING FOR! I – before Celestia could finish her sentence, somepony used his hoof to cover Celestia’s mouth, while sheering Luna himself. Luna continued: -…and the presence of my sister is always there… in form of the sun. So for you ponies to be happy, I’m going to erase the sun. That’s right my little ponies…the night…shall last…FOREVER!!!! After saying that, she started laughing maniacally. A dark, deep presence started surrounding her, and covered her completely. The ponies could not see Luna anymore, only a dark, big cloud. Suddenly, the cloud disappeared with a strong, quick flap of wings. Then, the ponies realized something horrible. The pony behind the cloud was not Luna. It could not be. And if it was, she had drastically changed. The blue in her eyes turned into a deep green, like the color of the deadly poisons. Her eyes didn’t look like the eyes of a pony, but looked like the eyes of a snake. Her horn had enlarged and was extremely pointed. Her fur wasn’t light blue anymore, but was dark and obscure as the night. She became taller too, and had sharped tooth coming out of her mouth. But the most drastic change was in her mane. It wasn’t a normal mane anymore. It looked like the dark sky of the night, with stars and constellations formed by the little sparkles that came out of it. It was also waving like the wind. It was like a window to the night. After all those changes, the ponies were no more confident. They were scared, and looked with horror to their princess. Luna talked with a dark, deep voice: - You shall call me Luna no more, but Nightmare Moon. I am the next bringer of peace to your lives. I shall bring the eternal night, so you can sleep peacefully forever…until you die. The pony that was holding Celestia’s mouth cried in terror as he jumped away, and ran his way out of there. The other ponies started running in terror as well, and suddenly, Celestia was all alone with her wicked sister. Nightmare Moon looked at the princess with cold, dead eyes. She said with no emotion at all: - Aren’t you happy Celestia? I finally found a way to make this a better place…to end the tyranny and hunger, the unhappiness and desolation… you should be laughing in delight. After all, we are going to be the only ponies in the whole world to survive… She waited Celestia’s answer, but it never came. She finally started going away while she said: - Don’t worry. You have all the eternity to realize how right I am. Nightmare Moon transported herself away. Celestia was in shock. She wasn’t moving a single muscle. She had her mouth and eyes opened, but she wasn’t even breathing. After a while, she looked down in despair, and held her face in her hooves, everypony running around her, shouting and screaming. That’s when she finally cried. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 2 - With hope, comes Loyalty > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Celestia was in shock for what she saw. This wasn’t supposed to happen. They were supposed to be the witnesses of Luna’s power, not Luna’s hate. After a few minutes, the princess finally woke up from her trauma. She looked at the catastrophic place that surrounded her. The ghost of what used to be Canterlot. The buildings were falling apart, the ponies screaming in terror, the deep darkness. The only light came out of a few fires that were produced along with the destruction of the city. It was raining, and lightning bolts generated intense flashes that blinded the citizens for a few seconds. It was total chaos. Celestia couldn’t think of anything else than blame herself for the imminent death of all those innocent ponies: -“What the hell was I thinking? Being a tyrant? That doesn’t solve anything! For pony’s sake… now my stupidity has condemned Equestria… but the worst thing of all, is that I made my own sister become a monster. I remember… when I used to be sisters…good sisters. Our relationship was perfect. Our friendship was so strong that we even wielded the elements of harmony to defeat Discord and countless enemies, always being toge-“–She suddenly realized what she said. – “Wait… the Elements of Harmony! If I’m strong enough, then maybe I could find a way to use them on my own, and defeat my sister! We still have hope!” She quickly stood on, and went running to her castle, which was falling apart just like all the other buildings in Canterlot. She knew that in her library she had a book about the Elements. Maybe the book had clues of a way to use them alone. As she was running towards the castle, she heard the voice of her twisted sister, coming out from nowhere: - “What, you think you can do something about this!? Don´t make me laugh! My perfect kingdom is going to live forever! And there’s nothing you can do to save your people for falling into destruction!” Celestia looked everywhere. She couldn´t spot her sister. But trusting she would hear her, she responded: -“This is not the way Luna! We still can amend things! Stop this madness!” She heard no response, only a hysterical laugh that came from the sky above her. Suddenly, lightning bolts started hitting furiously the ground. They were hitting near Celestia, and they were getting closer. Celestia ran as fast as she could, but when she was really close from the castle, a lightning hit Celestia in her back, throwing her away. She fell unconscious while she kept hearing the laugh. ----------------------------------------------------- Celestia finally woke up, and with difficult she finally stood on. She looked at the castle that was near her. Even when it was raining harder than ever, the Castle was on fire. Celestia kept running to the Castle while she thought: - “Oh no, I hope the books haven’t burnt out. Finding the book I need is the only way to stop my sister’s madness” She entered the castle, and started looking quickly for the book. She was hardly moving because the lightning had burnt her back, and the pain was incredibly intense, but she didn´t give up. She had to save the citizens. Celestia looked everywhere, but all the books were burnt. She was getting desperate. She started throwing away the remaining ashes from the burnt books, and looking for some book that was still readable. Suddenly, she found a book with a golden unicorn in its cover. She quickly opened it using her magic, and carefully read the title: -“The Legend of the Elements of Harmony” The Princess smiled in delight. It was just the book she was looking for, and it was intact. She suddenly heard that the walls that were surrounding her started cracking. She quickly got out from there, just as the rest of the castle finished falling apart. ----------------------------------------------------- Celestia hid the book in her tail. She couldn’t let her sister know that she had it. It was still raining, so she started looking for shelter, maybe a place where her burnt marks could be cured. She looked everywhere, but all she could see was the destruction of Canterlot. Suddenly, she heard a voice: -“ Princess! Princess Celestia! Over here!” She looked at the direction where the voice was coming from, and saw a little family of ponies: - “Princess, come! We have a shelter and some fire here! “ She quickly went to their shelter, which was a house that was difficulty standing up. She entered carefully, and saw the ponies in there. It was a father, and 2 little fillies. They were happy. Celestia looked at them confused: -“ Thank you kindly, but, aren’t you scared of me? I was the one that left you living in these deplorable conditions…” - “Of course not. In moments of need, we always have to help each other. And I say, they will not be a moment of need more important than this one” Celestia was surprised. All they had was a little fire in the middle of the room, and they were sharing it with someone who caused terror and fear between them. Celestia thanked them again, and sited down, next to one of the fillies. The father extinguished the fire with some water, and hugged his children. They fell asleep after a while. Celestia, however, couldn´t sleep. She looked outside and saw the destruction and desolation once again. That encouraged her: - “I WILL stop this. Things won’t be like now forever.”- She looked kindly at the sleeping family – “…I promise…” She looked in her tail, and found the book. She started reading it carefully, while generating a soft light with her magic: - “ The elements of harmony represents the qualities required to create harmony and peace in the world. Once the first five are present at the same time, the sixth one will appear, revealing an amazing energy, powerful enough to end chaos, discord, sadness, etc. The elements shall be used by a group of ponies with the qualities that represents the elements, and their power can only be used to bring good…” – Celestia read to herself. Then, she started thinking about it – “Qualities, hum? Well, If I find a way to have all those qualities, then maybe the 6th Element will appear…I hope…” – She kept reading to herself – “The first 5 elements needed to cast their powerful magic are: Loyalty, Honesty, Laughter, Kindness, and Generosity. Once all these elements are present, the 6th one, Magic, will appear…” Celestia putted the book down. She knew very well those elements. She felt them when she had good times with her sister. Their good relationship made her feel a magic inside that was more powerful than any other power known in Equestria. That’s why she was able to wield the Elements along with her sister in order to defeat Discord. But now, she was all alone. She needed to start a relationship with somepony, because as far as she knew, one cannot be generous or kind to himself. And if you could, she didn´t believe it would replace an element. No. She needed to share those qualities with somepony…but who? She didn´t have any friends, only her sister. And now, her sister was one of her enemies. Celestia felt more alone than ever. -------------------------------------------------- The family of ponies woke up about 5 hours after they had fell asleep. They looked directly at Celestia, which was hardly sleeping. She had her eyes closed, but she was talking quietly to herself: -“No…Luna, no…I’m so sorry…I didn’t mean to…No…NO!!! ARRGGHHH!!!!” The father quickly woke up the Princess. She looked at him with tired, red eyes. The father looked her back worriedly: - “Um… Princess… are you alright?” - “Ugh, no… I mean, yes… I only had one bad nightmare… a TERRIBLE nightmare” One of the fillies looked at Celestia. She asked to the Princess: -“Miss Sun Princess. Will the sun ever come back? I don’t want it to be night forever…” Celestia looked kindly at the filly. The Princess answered with a sweet voice: -“Don’t worry little one. I promise that I will do something to stop this eternal night. No matter how hard it will be, I WILL protect my subjects…” The father of the ponies hugged his little daughter. He said softly to her: -“Don’t worry Hope Bringer, we will all be safe”- Then, he looked at Celestia. - “What will you do? Nightmare Moon is far too Powerful and Dangerous…” Celestia looked at him seriously, and answered coldly: - “After a short research, I finally found a way to stop my sister. I shall use the Elements of Harmony to kill her, and then…then maybe I will take care of both the Night and the Day” The father looked at her confused: -“I thought that to wield the Elements you needed to be at your sister’s side. At least, that’s what Discord’s Legend tells.” -“I will find a way to use them on my own.” After that short conversation, Celestia went outside the shelter to see how thing were going on. The night was as dark as 5 hours ago, and it was still raining. The only change was that there was no fire, but everything else seemed the same. She turned back, ready to say thanks, and goodbye to her new friends, when suddenly the dark cloud that was surrounding Nightmare Moon appeared out of nowhere and trapped the Princess. She desperately looked everywhere looking for a way out, but the cloud was too dense, and she couldn’t see anything at all. She started freaking out when she realized there was no way out, and covered her face with her hooves, praying for it to end soon. Suddenly, she heard the voice of Nightmare Moon, apparently coming from the other side of the cloud. Celestia panicked even more, and started running, with the cloud always around her. She couldn’t see anything. She could only hear the voice of her sister talking with a dark happy voice: -“Oh, little Celestia, why don’t you just give up?. Admit it. You are weak, and there’s literally nothing you can do to save the lives of your subjects. After all, you’re not even fighting for your own life. C’mon, you’re not even fighting for people that you love. They hate you to guts, and you are trying to save them. Absurd. Simply absurd. Why don’t you just join me, and enjoy eternal life?” Celestia stopped. She knew Nightmare Moon was right. She was trying to defend ponies that hated her. But that was not the point. She was trying to redeem herself for the pity and shame. She stood with confidence, and said with no fear: -“You’ll have to try harder Nightmare Moon! I’m not letting down my people so easily!” Nightmare Moon’s voice has heard again. - “But think about the possibilities! You will have no more problems with these stupid ponies. That’s one problem less. Also, you will not have to raise the Sun no more. That’s another thing. Besides, if you join me, I will not kill you. Simple as that” - “I. Said. NO!” – Celestia shouted and flapped fiercely with her wings, finally fading the dark cloud. She looked around her, and discovered that she was far away from the family of ponies, which were looking at her surprised. The father approached to her, with tears in his eyes. He said to her softly: - “Thank you, your highness… thank you for not letting us down….” The Sun Princess was serious. She discovered a new feeling deep inside her. She really didn’t want to see those ponies harmed. She cared more for their safety than for her own. She had discovered Loyalty. Celestia finally said goodbye to the family of ponies, not before asking their names -“I’m Fire Light. And these are my daughters: Warm Heart and Hope Bringer.”- Said the father with a little sparkle in his eyes. -“Well, thanks a lot, Fire Light. Without your help I would have gone crazy…literally…” Celestia turned back, ready to continue her journey, when suddenly she remembered: -“Oh, Fire Light, before I go I must ask…where is your wife? All I have seen are your daughters.” The colt looked down. He answered with a sad voice: -“Oh, my little sweetheart… She passed away because of the hunger… She couldn’t take it anymore…” Celestia was now determined to end this as soon as possible: - “Please, hold on as long as you can. I will kill the devil that is ruining your lives and bring up the sun in no time!” -“I sure hope so…” The Princess turned around and started walking seriously, as the little family watcher their future savior go away. Celestia walked down the street, while watching all the destroyed homes. She had finally discovered how it felt to be loyal to someone, and it felt great. The power of knowing that someone depends on you was awesome. She was avoiding that feeling for the fear of letting her people down. But now that she knew how wonderful some ponies could be, she wanted to do everything possible to make them happy again. But the element of Loyalty wasn’t the only one she had to control. She was still missing other 4 elements to make the 6th one appear. Celestia knew that her sister and new enemy was listening, so she said calmly: - “Once I control the rest of the elements, there will be no more Miss Kind Princess. The tables will be turned and YOU will be the one who fears me. So, good last days of life, my dearest sister…” Nightmare Moon was indeed hearing her sister’s monologue. The wicked Princess was hearing everything from the shadows. And she knew it was true. Nightmare Moon soon was desperate. She was practically sweating bullets. She quickly started thinking: - “Oh, damn. Celestia knows how to defeat me… if she reunites all the 6 elements, I’m going to be doomed! Think-think-THINK….” – Suddenly, she realized – “Hey… she is going to kill IF and only IF she finds the elements. Right now she is weak and defenseless… I must kill her know…” Nightmare Moon came out of the shadows, bringing fear and chaos to the ponies that were surrounding the place. She closed her eyes and her horn started glowing. With a powerful and strong voice, she started summoning the darkest souls from hell: - “Listen my minions! We must destroy the Princess of the day! We must destroy the Princess of the light! WE MUST KILL CELESTIA!!!” A pentagram surrounded the floor under her hooves. Suddenly, a horde of completely black creatures that looked like ponies started emerging from the floor. The faceless creatures were all around Nightmare Moon, who said: - “WE WILL RULE! WE WILL DESTROY! WE WILL BRING ANARCHY AND CHAOS EVERYWHERE!!! EXTERMINATE CELESTIA! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!!!!!” The twisted creatures started shouting along with their leader: - “EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!” At once, all the black ponies started running towards Celestia, which was walking calmly: - “Huh? What are THOSE!? The black ponies started jumping in Celestia, damaging her with their hooves and horns. Celestia was shouting in pain. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Nightmare Moon started encouraging Celestia: - “HA! That’s how you gonna beat me!? Screaming of pain and suffering!? Please, do try better! HAHAHAHAHA!!!! The Dark Princess’ words worked. Celestia was furious. Quickly she used her horn no stab a dark pony in the face. She used her horn to crush some other minions, and with a flash of light she temporally blinded everyone around her, including her sister. Celestia said seriously: - “This has not ended yet! I’m going to beat you know!” Nightmare Moon was scared. She shouted quickly as she started running away: - “Wh-what are you waiting for!? Minions! Kill this crazy mare!” Celestia tried to chase her, but the monsters were surrounding her. Celestia decided to fly away, but one of the monsters bit her left wing, which was severely damaged. The Princess ran out of choices. She had to fight no matter the consequences. Quickly, she grabbed a minion with her mouth and tossed it away. She was killing more minions when one of them kicked her in the face. Celestia used her back legs to kick the monster back, and the front legs to stand up again. She kept up this way for several minutes, but she was getting tired, and there were still hundreds of shadow ponies. Luckily, Celestia remembered the spell of the solar beam: - “Let’s see….I must concentrate…”- While Celestia was remembering the spell, some shadow ponies started hitting her. Celestia endured the pain, and she continued remembering- “ImustconcentrateImustconcentrateImustconcentrate….” The dark ponies kept hitting her, but Celestia didn’t give up. Her horn started glowing, and a bright light surrounded her: - “Yes! YES! I remember!!! TAKE THIS MONSTERS FROM HELL!!!” She started shooting light beams from her horn. Each beam fired down a minion. The light surrounded the place, as the minions that were left were burned to ashes. Celestia behold the destruction of all those monsters, while saying to herself: - “Don’t worry…they’re just monsters….they can’t feel pain…they did not suffer… you didn’t make anyone suffer…they are just monsters…they needed to die…” – She hold back her tears and continued – “they…can’t feel…I hope…” Celestia took a deep breath and continued her journey, with the darkness surrounding her again. She walked while remembering the face of her dearest sister: Smiling, without the hate and evilness all around her.
