> A Portal to Equestria > by abbiegail200 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > How it Started > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Is it done yet?" Autumn was in the kitchen making breakfast while Finn was waiting, impatiently, in the living room. "Um, no! I think you're more impatient than me. Hehe!" "Uuuugh!" Footsteps came from the ladder. "What's all that noise?" Jake said groggily. "Good morning to you, too, Jake." Finn said. "Soo... Autumn. What's for breakfast?" asked Jake. "It's a surprise," Autumn said with a grin. "You'll have to wait." Jake blew a raspberry at her. "Fine." All of a sudden, a big portal appeared in the living room. "Hey, Autumn?" Finn called. "Yeah?" said Autumn, still in the kitchen. "You might want to get in here." Autumn put down the pan and walked into the living room. "What is i- oh." "What is that?" asked a very confused Jake. "That is a portal. To one of my dimensions. It's pink, so most likely...." She took a deep breath. "Equestria." "But why is it here? I thought the only portal-opener-thingy was at your house," said Finn. "It is. So why is it here? The only way that that can happen is if either someone from the other dimension opened it with another opener, or... someone touched mine... DAD! No, no, no, no, no! Ugh! Listen, I gotta... go?" There was a strong wind going into the portal, and it was getting stronger. "I think it's too late for tha-AAAAH!!!" Finn said, before getting sucked into the portal. "Crud apples! Jake, you stay here. I'll be back soon," said Autumn. "Uuh, ok?" said a still confused Jake. Autumn jumped into the portal just as it was closing. > Breakfast and Chats > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ow..." "Huh? Oh, sorry! I didn't know that you were laying there when I jumped in the portal. You should have moved, silly." Autumn got up off of Finn and helped him from the ground. "I was in shock. I couldn't move." Finn chuckled. "Well, are you okay?" asked Autumn. "Yeah, I'm fine. But... where are we?" "We are in Equestria. More specifically, Ponyville!" said an excited Autumn. "Well, the outskirts of it. Anyways, follow me. There's somewhere we need to go." Autumn started walking off towards the town. "Hey, wait up!" Finn said as he trotted up to Autumn. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "So... where are we heading?" Finn asked once they were in Ponyville. "We're going to Sugarcube Corner, where a good friend of mine is. Or, well, should be," said Autumn. "Wait. How many times have you been here exactly?" asked Finn. "More than I can count." "Oh." The two arrived at Sugarcube Corner in less than thirty seconds. "Here we are!" exclaimed Autumn. "Let's go inside. I want to get this done as soon as possible." Finn followed Autumn into what looked like a sweet shop. "Hey, Autumn!" said a pink pony behind a counter. "Haven't seen you around in awhile. Where've you been?" "Hey, Pinkie. Sorry I haven't visited. Been busy with stuff," Autumn said. "Can I talk to you?" "Yeah! Sur- WHO ARE YOU?!" She pointed a hoof at Finn. "Pinkie, this is my... friend, Finn," said Autumn. "Uh, hi." Finn waved at Pinkie. "Hi! I'm Pinkie Pie! Nice to meet you!" "Nice to meet you, too," responded Finn. "Does he come from Ooo, too?" Pinkie asked Autumn. "Yeah. That's kinda what I need to talk to you about," Autumn told Pinkie. "Wait, she knows where we come from? You told her?" Finn asked Autumn. "Uuh... yeah. I, uh, did," said Autumn. "Lemme close up shop. Don't want any random ponies coming in and listening to your secrets!" Pinkie said as she walked towards the front door. She walked back and asked the two, "Do you guys want anything?" "I'll have some chocolate milk and a red velvet cupcake, please," responded Autumn. "Can I have a chocolate chip muffin and some chocolate milk, as well? I didn't have breakfast and I'm kinda hungry," said Finn. "Sure! Wait, you didn't have breakfast? Why not?" asked Pinkie. "Right when it was almost done, we got sucked into the portal. I'll tell you the story when you come back in here," answered Autumn. "Okie dokie lokie!" Pinkie said as she trotted towards the kitchen. Not even two minutes later, Pinkie came back out with a tray of two glasses of chocolate milk and two plates with different pastries on them. She walked over to the table that Autumn and Finn were sitting at. "Chocolate milks," Pinkie said as she handed the two the glasses. "Red velvet cupcake, and a chocolate chip muffin." She put the plates on the table, then went back into the kitchen. Two seconds later, she came back to the table with a slice of chocolate cake. "You guys made me want something sweet, too," Pinkie said as she giggled. "So. What seems to be the problem?" Autumn went on to telling Pinkie what happened that morning, pausing only to take a breath, a bite of cupcake, or a drink of chocolate milk. "Then we came here," Autumn finished. "Very strange. I don't know much about this portal stuff. Even after you told me some. Buuuut, I do know who does!" Pinkie said with a wide smile. > A Little Awkwardness > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "So you're telling me that you are a princess that came from a different dimension on a different planet in a different kingdom?!" Twilight asked excitedly. "Um, yeah. Different dimension, different planet, different kingdom," Autumn responded. "This is amazing! I don't know what to say! I- uh- well, uh, welcome to Equestria!" Twilight ended in a wide grin. Autumn turned to Pinkie. "So I guess you kept my secret? Thanks." "Yeah! Duh! I would never tell a friend's secret!" "What about that time when my brother and Cadence announced that they were going to have a baby? You could barely hold it in. In the end, you literally exploded," said Twilight. "Oh yeah! Well, after that, I learned how to control my secret holding," responded Pinkie. "I guess I believe you, since you kept Autumn's secret. I never heard anything about Autumn come out of your mouth. Good job, Pinkie," Twilight said with a smile. "Thanks, Twi! And I know that I did a good job!" "Anywho," Twilight turned to Autumn. "What is the problem?" "Well....." Autumn then went on explaining her problem. Again. After the story telling... "You came to the right place! Now, I just had that book..." Twilight stood up and flew towards a bookshelf. "Aha! I knew it was over here!" She flew back and landed on her hooves between Autumn and Pinkie. She put a book she was holding down on the table. "Okay, here's the deal," Twilight said as she flipped through the book. "You just need to either build another portal transmitter, or wait for the portal to open up again. The best is probably to build another transmitter. Buuut I could probably teleport you back to your home." "Um... I don't know. Whatever you want," Autumn said. Twilight breathed in deeply. "Well, I just practiced a spell that I found in a new book, and I'm pretty tuckered out. It's also getting late. Will you be alright staying the night in Equestria? I want to have enough energy to do this." "Fine with me. Finn?" Autumn said as she turned to face Finn. "Uuh, I guess. But what about Jake? He might get worried. You know how he is," said Finn. "You're right, but if Twilight does her spell now, she might accidentally mess up. I don't think I want to end up in the Fire Kingdom or in a whole different dimension," Autumn responded. "Yeeeeah, that would be bad. I guess we're staying in Equestria, then!" said Finn. "But where are we going to stay?" "I have a guest bedroom. There's only one bed, though," Twilight suggested. Finn blushed a little. "I could sleep on the floor." Autumn was also blushing. "Sure." "I should-YAWN-go home now. Got work to do in the morning! See ya guys!" said Pinkie as she walked to the door. "See ya, Pinkie!" said Twilight. "Bye! You know, I think I should go to bed, too," Autumn said with a yawn. "Do you want me to take you to the guest room now?" Twilight asked. "Yeeeah.....YAWN" "Alright. Follow me." > Getting Back Home > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Autumn's head jerked up from the pillow. "Wuh! Oh. It was a dream. Thank Celestia." As her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she began to realize where she was. Oh yeah, she thought. Forgot I was here. Best if I get back to sleep. But she couldn't. She kept thinking about the dream she just had. "Dad! What are you doing?! You're not supposed to be down here! This is my secret room!" Autumn yelled. "Oh, just making sure you never come back!" "Wha-AAAAH!!!!" Autumn said as she got sucked into the portal once again. "HAHAHAHAHA!!!" Autumn shook it off. It was just a dream, right? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Are you doing alright, Autumn?" Twilight asked at breakfast the next morning. "You look a little shaken up." "Oh, it's nothing. Just-" Autumn sighed. "It's just this dream I had last night." "Do you want to talk about it?" "Not really. It's kinda personal." She spun her straw around in it's glass. She sighed again. "Dad stuff." "Oh. Ok. Well, are you ready to get started?" Twilight asked excitedly. Autumn perked up. "Yeah. How about you, Finn?" She turned to him. "I kinda wanna explore this place a bit, but getting home is priority, so yeah! Let's do it!" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After they said their goodbyes, Autumn, Finn, and Twilight were all in Twilight's living room. "Are you ready?" Twilight asked the two. "I think so." Autumn shifted in her spot. "Yep!" "Ready as I'll ever be," said Finn. "Alright. Here we go!" Twilight lighted up her horn, and Autumn and Finn were teleported back to Ooo. Just as they disappeared, Pinkie Pie burst into Twilight's living room. "Did I miss them?!" "Sorry," Twilight said. "Darn it!" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Thank Glob we're back," said Finn. "Well, don't get too comfortable. We gotta take care of my dad. Oh, when I get home..." Autumn clenched up her fists. "There you two are," Jake said as he walked in the room. "I've been really worried. Were you guys there the whole night?" "We had to stay the night," said Autumn. Jake looked confused. "It's a long story. But right now, we have to go to my place and take care of my dad." "Do you want me to go with you?" Jake asked. "Yeah, duh. This is my dad we're talking about." Jake chuckled. "Yeah, alright. Let's go!" > Going Back > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It didn't take long for the three to arrive at the Ice Kingdom. Autumn walked right in. "Dad! Where are you?!" At first there was just silence. But when Autumn was about to yell out again, there was this loud crash, what sounded like, underneath them. Then a whooshing sound, and then silence again. "What..." Autumn muttered. She started to head towards the back of the room when the Ice King stepped out of the hallway. "You called?" "Yeah, kinda. Hey, you weren't in my secret room, were you? And be honest," Autumn said. "No, not at all. Though I did hear some noises down there, but I didn't think much of it 'cause I thought it was you." "That's not good." Better than him being down there, she thought. "Well, Imma head down there now." She motioned Finn and Jake to follow her. "I need to see what those noises were." "What in the heck were those sounds?" Autumn asked after looking around her secret room. "It just doesn't make sense." "With that whooshing sound, maybe someone went through the portal. Can't you check?" Suggested Finn. "But who..." said Autumn as she typed stuff on her keyboard. "What? How is that possible? Only I know the code. Well, other than you." She looked at Finn. "Lemme guess: someone did go through the portal," he said. "Yeah, but it just doesn't make sense!" Autumn yelled. "Maybe we can catch up to them if we go through," suggested Jake. "Yes! Good plan! Alright..." Autumn put in the six digit code and the portal opened up. "If I read it right, the person went to Equestria." "We have to go back there already? But we literally just came back!" Complained Finn. "Sorry," Autumn shrugged. "If we wanna catch this person, we probably need to go now. Jake, do you want to stay here or go with us? It's up to you." "I'll think I'm gonna stay here. I'll head back to the treehouse and probably take a nap," Jake responded. Typical Jake, thought Autumn. "Alright, let's go!" She jumped in, followed by Finn. "Okay, we stayed there for some time, so the person, or pony I guess, will most likely be some distance away from here. But where..." Autumn stood there thinking for a moment. "Who's that?" Asked Finn. Autumn looked up to see him pointing to a reddish-orangish pony in the distance looking around. The pony must have heard Finn, and looked towards the two. Then started trotting to them. As the pony got closer, they could tell that it was a stallion. For some reason, he looked somewhat familiar to Autumn. "Hello! Do you two know where we are?" The stranger said once he was in front of Autumn and Finn. Autumn recognized that voice. "Flame?"
