> The Lost Legends of Equestria: The First Alicorn > by Silver Inkwell > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prologue “Mother, where do we come from?” “Well dear, that is a very complicated question,” Galaxia said. “Well then, start small and simple.” “You make a fair point girls.” “Well tell us, please.” “Alright then, but afterwards you’ll go straight to bed, okay?” “Alright mom, you have a deal.” “Well then, no one is sure exactly where we come from or why we exist, if you want to try to figure that out then I would highly recommend some pony else. But for now let us stick to the stories, myths, and legends instead. No one also know exactly how old are race is, whether it be for millions or billions of years, but one thing is for sure, in the start there were no alicorns, or at least that’s one version, another says that there was one almighty god or goddess that ruled over all of us and created us in their image. Another says that we have always been and always shall be, another says that we cannot always have been and that one day even we will fall to chaos and entropy. No pony is really sure of which tale or myth or legend can be true if any at all, but in reality I guess that there is truth in every story that you hear. Yet no matter what version of the story I heard there was always something that I could find wrong with it, I mean if we have always been this way then who came before us to make us? Surely there must be some pony, right? And if we have not then how did we ever come to be in the first place? If there is indeed a god that rules over us, then why not reveal themselves? All these questions were answered in vain for I did not believe any pony else or their responses, they all seemed wrong somehow in some small slight tiny little way, and nothing was ever perfect, but in my pursuit of answers I finally decided to create my own version of the story instead, and then I did too, now then girls take note that this hasn’t been published yet so it will have many flaws so please don’t fault me on anything just yet, and it hasn’t been edited yet, so I will need your opinions on this, and of course I’m not quite sure on the length yet, but I do know that it will be appropriate for you any other child too. Now then my tale takes place in a world with no alicorns except for two very old ones who guard the tree of immortality and eternal youth, or harmony instead, but no matter what it was called it was still the key to being an Alicorn now.” > Discovery of a Lifetime > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter One: Discovery of a Lifetime Alice walked along the road hoping to fine her best friend Alicar. Alicar was a unicorn like herself, but he was different and special and unique just like herself. In fact every pony they discovered so far was that way. But he was different and special in another way because she loved him. And that made all the difference in the whole entire world. And so she went over to his house and knocked very slowly. “Come on out, and let’s go play and explore!” she said. “I like the sound of that,” he said opening the door, “Where to exactly?” “The forest of course, where else?” she said. “Are you sure about that? It could be very dangerous.” “I laugh in the face of danger, come on, let’s go.” And with that said they ran off into the forest together until they finally found a cave. “I wonder what’s in here exactly,” Alice said slowly very approaching it now. “Careful,” he said, “It could have a bear of something far worse in it instead, why don’t we just go on back home and rest for a short little bit.” “No, we haven’t explored enough today, besides, I hear a voice calling me from the inside, almost like it’s my destiny,” she said her mind now far away. Alicar tried to listen but could hear no voices, but he soon decided to go along with her and stick by her side for her own protection. And with that they slowly went into the cave until they found a tree that stood by a very small pond. “Wow, this is very beautiful,” she said going over to the tree then touching it. And suddenly he did hear voices, ones that told him his true real destiny now. Thank you for finding us, for we are the last of a race and kind, but soon no longer, for we shall give you a great gift and a terrible curse, you will be given the strength of earth ponies, the wings of a Pegasus, and your magical powers will be increased, and wisdom is also yet another gift. Do not question why this is so or ask who we are, for we are the last without any names, and we now live and reside with the water and tree, and now you shall become Alicorns. And with that said suddenly they had wings on them given to them by the tree or pond water apparently for some reason. And then they smiled curiously. “Wow, this is amazing and wonderful, but I have even something better to give to you,” she said with a smile on her face as she leaned in closer to him now. “And what could that possibly be? What could ever possibly better than this?” “Me,” she said leaning in to kiss him, and then after their embrace she pulled back and then said, “I love you,” and then held him very tight and close. “I love you too,” he said as he smiled and held her in his arms. Later on they would be the first queen and king of the lands, and eventually the name even came to be named after their first king who in the opinions of many was the best and wisest and kindest, other than their current one of course. And with that his reign was long, glorious, prosperous, and happy too. “And that’s the end,” Galaxia said. “But that was so short? Couldn’t you make it longer?” “I could, but if I told you anymore you would fall asleep, maybe I can elaborate it some other time when you two aren’t so sleepy?” she said smiling now. “I guess that you’re right…” Luna said yawning, “Thanks for the story.” “Of course my dear, anything for you,” Galaxia said leaning over and then kissing her on the forehead and whispered very softly, “I love you.” “Mommy? Was any of that true?” Celestia said yawning now. “I think I would rather leave that up to you to determine.” And with that said she did the same routine for Celestia, then slowly went out of their room shutting the door very softly behind her. And then she went over to her husband. “They’re finally asleep,” she said very softly to him now. “Very good, but what story did you tell them this time exactly?” he said. “The one about Alicar and the first Alicorns,” she said, “But not all of it.” “Yes, sadly the tale is far too long for them,” he said, “But not for me.” And with that said she smiled and started to read yet once more again. And very soon enough they were embraced together in a kiss under the night sky once she had finished her story, for that was where it had ended first.
