Follow a Changeling hive as they struggle to find Love, and 4 brave changelings search for it.
Note: Since I dont follow the shows Twitter, this mainly is around my headcannons. I'll update the rating and tags as the story goes on.
As you may or may not of known, there are other Changeling hives scattered around Equestria. Follow Drop and her friends as they attempt to find love for the hive that they live in. Will they succeed or fail? Only time can tell.
I sat in class, unlike most hives, ours had a school system. Normally we'd learn the safest ways to transform, but not today, or for a while. We were learning how to strengthen weak love, transform while weak, and other related subjects. You may ask why, but the towns near our hives are having ponies move out into bigger cities for jobs, the biggest town here has a population of 4, but all the ponies are too old to have offspring. We'd move our hive, but most of us, even the Queen and Princesses are too weak to move.
"Hey"
I jumped at the voice, turning around and seeing my 'friends', Rain, Mud, and Shadow.
"You scared me there." I said.
Shadow would reply with "Drop, you're scared of about everything."
Shadow was what we considered a 'Antibuzzkelt', a changeling with 50% Changeling magic and 50% Pony magic, instead of the normal 75% Changeling magic and 25% Pony magic, so his holes were extremely small, and he had fur, they would usually work at the nursery. They can also emit weak love, but sadly, only 2 of them live in the hive; Shadow, and Queen Crystalya, whom has half of her mane and tail a black color, the other half blue with a white streak. She had two daughters, Princess Star and Princess Slyther, but their appearances are unknown, due to a semi-new tradition I'm too lazy to explain right now.
"Anyways, I've got a great idea."
"Oh no! Shadow has ANOTHER great idea! NOTHING could go wrong, this time!"
"Aww, c'mon Rain, when did they ever go wrong"
"Maybe that time you almost injured the QUEEN and got us all punished? Or that time you destroyed half of the hive, causing the Queen of the Main Hive, Crysalis, to come in rage?"
"The last one wasn't THAT bad!"
I facehooved at Shadow's words while Rain and he would argue. Mud attempted to break up the fight. "Just listen to Shadow's idea!"
"Thank you! Somechangeling who knows how great my ideas are! Anyways, I was thinking we could sneak out and find love."
Mud and I screamed in unison "WHAT?"
"You could feed off my love!"
"Just... Just... Why do we even listen to you?"
I watched for multiple minutes as an argue broke out, Queen Crystalya holding up a CD player and playing intense music in the background.
I noticed Mud lighting up her horn, and blasting weak magic at Shadow, who luckily dodged, I hissed, Shadow shot magic at Mud, and soon, Mud, Sgadow, Rain, and I were in a battle, multiple changelings trying to break us up and dodge magic, soon magic pulled us apart, and I looked up to see dark purple eyes glaring at us. We bowed. "Q..Queen Crystalya I..I'm sorry..." Rain said.
"Dungeons tomorrow."
We nodded, and Queen Crystalya left. We sighed in relief. "What now.. ?"
Shadow grinned, I knew he was thinking about his idea, which was probably his craziest.
I sighed, his ideas will get us killed. If not killed, banished. He's risking our lives for a lost cause. I can't believe he's made it this far. He looked at us, gdinning, then dragged us by our tails with his magic, somehow, drags us out of the hive and a good distance without being caught. I sometimes wonder how he does these things. I learnt it makes more sense when you ignore it, oddly enough. I sighed, knowing my life is now in Shadow's hooves.
I struggled up, we have now been gone for a few days, Rain sent a letter to Queen Crystalya so she knows what we're doing, we found some love, but it wasn't strong enough for the hive, so we looked for stronger. We smelt weak love recently; we followed the smell, after all, it may save us, luckily, it got stronger the closer we got, I nibbled on it, and I sensed it was from multiple ponies, no, more than multiple, around 700. I flew up, motioning for Shadows, Rain, and Mud to fly up off the snow, and what I saw was amazing. Perfect. It had to be a dream, right? A kingdom in the snow, dry, and full of love, I recconized it as The Kingdom Of Love through books, or as the ponies called it; The Crystal Empire.
"We should find a disquise, to the outskirts."
We obeyed Rain, splitting up near the outskirts of it, a pony saw me and screamed. "CHANGELING"
I ran, and screamed in Changlihs, "Dewbees Rete!"
It would translate to 'Retreat, We've been spotted!'
They ran, Mud quickly taking a ponies disquise then putting them in a cocoon, hiding it in the snow. We knew we were in danger, we need to try again later, maybe in a month, when the panic is gone, we quickly came togetger. "We would rest in the nearest shelter we can find, a cave, maybe?"
I nodded at Rain, how much I wanted to know I'm safe. We'll be okay. Atleast, I hope so. We found a cave, running inside, I'd lay down, and fall asleep.
I woke up, Mud becond for me to hide, so I ran into the shadows, a pink Alicorn coming in, she cast a powerful lighting spell, showing me and Rain. "Why are you here, why did she send you?"
I hissed at the pink alicorn's words. "Crysalis? No. We were not sent, we came here on our own, to try and feed our starving hive"
The pink alicorn became upset at me, and would bark "You're not starving, you're trying to make us trust you, then chase us away, powerless. You're not starving, you're a monster. I know other should be here, but if your gone, they'll reveal theirselves."
I woke up in a cell, the walls and roof were dirt and mud, the floor stone and frost, the bars of my cell made of stone, wood, ice, and a material i didnt reconise, across from my cell, a pink alicorn was laying in her cell. 'Is this the land of pink alicorns?' I wondered.
I heard a creak, then a slam, the first pink alicorn appearing, grinning. She had light pink fur, her horn and hooves fading to white, her wings fadinf to a darker pink, her mane was curly, purple with a blue streak, her eyes were a bright blue. The alicorn in the cell had pink fur, her wings fading to purple, and a curly mane with purple, pink, and yellow streaks, her eyes purple. She quickly climbed up off the floor, which gave me enough of a veiw of her to notice a magical restraint on her horn and neck, the bases of her wings were attached by a chain, which would allow her to use ger wings much, chains on her legs had her not able toget close to the bars of her cell. "Th.. Thank you..." She muttered.
I looked at myself, multiple chains looped around the holes in my legs, attaching ne to the floor, unable to move much from my current spot, the alicorn who trapped us left, when she left I asked the trapped alicorn "Who are you?"
The alicorn looked at me. "I'm Cadance... I once ruled the crystal empire but Flurry Heart... She betrayed us, and trapped me here... I dont know what she did to Shining... Though..."
"Wait, she's your DAUGHTER?" I asked, shocked.
Cadance nodded. "The reason she doesnt allow you to move much is because you may take a guards form..."
