Chrysalis blinks, and smiles softly at her close friend. "Because I knew you, I've been changed for good, too. Cadence, no matter what is to become of me, I will always remember you, I will always be in your heart, and you in mine." Chyrsalis’s smile fades softly as she spoke this. "Y-Yes, you will! How could I forget my best friend?" "You won't... Cadence? I want you to have something." "Your spell book?! Chrissy, I can't take this, you're the one who knows how to use it! I can't make more Changelings-" "I don't need you to use it to make Changelings. I just need you to keep it, don't ask why, just please take it." "To remember you? I don't need a book to remember you..." Chyralis shoves the book into Cadences hooves. A pained expression on both their faces as the conversation progressed."Please, take it! There's not much time, I need you to b-banish me! Before they catch on, please." "I can't! Y-You know I can't, I can't even handle the thought..." "Do it, please. The Crystal empire needs you, hurry." "Chrissy, I'm so sorry... please, forgive me..." I shot awake, gasping for air as if I'd been drowning. I stared up at my bedroom ceiling, the moonlight striking it in just a way that made it shimmer. I watched it dance, and finally began to calm down. Why am I having this dream again? I never want to remember that day, the day I banished my best friend. Chrissy just wanted to be accepted by ponies who had shunned her for her appearance, and she did this with a spell book that she'd found in the Canterlot castle. But it backfired...some of the changlings that she had created didn’t turn out as planned. Corrupting the other changlings to be evil ,and the only way to banish them was by banishing their creator. It has been years since I had banished my beloved friend, Twilight had grown up to be the Princess of Friendship. Many things had happened through out her upbringing to becoming a Princess and after her crowning. Bringing back both the Princess of the Night, and reforming three other evil doers of Equestria. Even the defeat my friend in Canterlot had occured...after she even tried to take my Shining. She had changed, that was not the Chrissy I knew. No matter the case of what we were. I had to stay true to my duties, and banish her yet again. Sometime after all of this, and things settled down. I became pregnant. When the baby was born I finally had something to take my mind off Chrissy, and soon forgot about her completely. She'd become a memory pushed in the back of my mind to rot. Until I started to have these nightmares. I looked over at my sleeping husband, hoping I hadn't awoken him. Luckily he was still sound asleep, his breathing lifting and lowering the blankets in a slow pattern. I sighed, and looked back to my bedside table. I fumbled with the lock on the drawer, after a tense moment I finally unlocked it and opened the drawer to reveal it's contents. I scanned inside, until my eyes took notice of the spell book. It was old, torn up and covered in dust. I lifted it with my magic, and gently got out of my bed. My hooves clashed with the crystal floor, and I winced, hoping Shining hadn't heard me. I turned to see he was still asleep, flooding with relief when I saw he was. I rushed out of the room before I'd disturbed him more. My hooves galloped against the cold floors of my castle, but I had no time to worry if I woke anyone. I needed to get to one of the empty rooms in the back of the hallway. I ran past the barracks rooms, Flurry Hearts Nursery , the kitchen, and the room where Twilight and Spike were staying. Starlight decided to stay with Sunburst in his room of the castle. I suspected they were more than friends, but I wasn't too sure yet. I try not to look to deep into the love connected between ponies till I'm sure of their affection towards another. I finally reached the empty room, entering and making sure to close the door behind me as silently as possible. I sat down in the center of the room, dropping the spell book and flipping through the pages. I stopped on a page that had a circle around it. It must of been the spell that Chrissy used to make changelings, since it was the only spell in the book she used. Why would she have circled a random spell anyways? I shut out my random thoughts, as I began to chant the odd writings on the page. As my horn started to glow as I chanted the words, I could feel the room getting colder. I shivered, but continued to pour my magic into making the spell come to life. I looked up from the book as the spell completed, and scanned the room. There was no change, and no changeling in sight. "Was that not the right spell?" I sighed anxiously. What did I do? What if I killed somepony, what if I made them hurt, what- My thoughts were silenced by a blue magic in front of me, swirling around the spell book. I gasped, backing up and feeling my mane start to blow as wind start to erupt from the odd magic. I watched as the magic danced, illuminating the room green and blue, before it stopped. An awful buzzing could be heard, and I bent my ears back, trying to block out the sound. I gritted my teeth, feeling the wind suddenly stop abruptly, the glowing from the magic ending with the die of the room. All there was was silence, the room felt a lot darker than it was before all of this, the only source of light being a candle on the back wall. I watched as a small black figure with tiny little Chrysalis like wings struggled to stand up. I rushed over to him, helping him to his hooves. He looked at me with aqua eyes, and I smiled reassuringly. He reminded me so much of Chrissy. She wasn't the prettiest po-changeling, but she was perfect in my eyes, just like him. "Hello? Who are you? Who am I?" He asked me with wide curious eyes, and I responded with a giggle. "I'm Cadence, and you're..." I stopped, trying to think of a name. I remembered the name Shining had wanted to call Flurry if she'd been a boy. I hadn't liked the name, but it seemed to fit this changeling. "Your name is Thorax. Yeah, Thorax!" I smiled warmly, letting him stand on his own. "Oh? Thanks, I guess... a-are you my mother?" He asked me, and my smile faded. "No, sorry... you don't technically have a mother." I said swiftly, and I could see the hurt bloom in his eyes at this knowledge. I rushed to comfort him "Don't worry! You don't need a mother! I'll mother you if you need me to." I smiled again, pulling him into an embrace. He muffled a thank you into my shoulder, and I hugged him tighter. "Now, there's someone I'd like you to meet."
