> Daisy Chain Special Edition 1: Derpy x Spitfire > by caveman0803 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Derpy x Spitfire > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- All was quiet in the small community of Ponyville. The air was clear and Princess Celestia was still in the warm embrace of her dreams (courtesy of Princess Luna). A golden pegasus mare with a fiery mane was flying towards this serene scene with only her thoughts and her package to keep her company. Spitfire had woke up early so she could pick up the package and get to Ponyville before the sun would rise. Everything had to be perfect for what she was about to do. Today. Today was the day she would do it. She would give the pony of her dreams a very special gift and hope that she would accept her gift. 60 minutes until sunrise. Spitfire landed in front of a cozy little home and looked at her watch to see how much time she had left. “Good. I still have time,” she said to herself. She walked up to the door and knocked gently, yet hard enough for somepony to hear her knocks. A minute later a green pegasus stallion with a red mane opened the door and gestured her in. “Thanks for doing this for me Apple Risotto. It’s really important that everything goes perfectly and you’re the only pony I could think of that could help me.” Spitfire said. “It’s not a problem Spitfire. Believe it or not I was actually flattered that you’d ask me to do this for you, however we do need to be quiet because we don’t want to wake up my wife. She may always be cheerful but she can get cranky when she’s woken up from her beauty rest.” He said. He led her into the kitchen to where a cozy little picnic basket sat. Spitfire took the basket, bid Apple Risotto goodbye, and took off from his house. 55 minutes until sunrise. Spitfire found a cozy hill with an amazing view of where the sun will rise and opened up her basket. In the basket she found: a blanket, 6 scones, a miniature burner, a water kettle, tea, and a quiche for two. After setting up the blanket and kettle, she set the basket aside and took off for the home of her hearts’ desire. 45 minutes until sunrise. She landed outside the home of her love, pulled a key out of her bag, opened the door, and walked inside closing the door behind her gently. She looked around at the cozy little house, noticing all the knick knacks and pictures on the wall. She went down the hallway to the second door on the right and opened it gently. Inside was a grey pegasus mare with a light grey apple green mane sleeping peacefully in a bed clearly meant for two. Spitfire nudged the mare gently. “Derpy. It’s time to get up hunny.” Spitfire cooed. Derpy stirred for just a moment and then opened her eyes. “Those gorgeous eyes. I could stare into them all day and never get tired of them.” Spitfire thought to herself. “Spitfire?” Derpy questioned groggily. She turned over to look at her clock and realized what time it was. “You’re home earlier than you said you’d be. How’d you manage that?” Derpy asked. “I wanted to do something special for our 3 year anniversary dearest.” Spitfire replied. “Now, get out of bed so we can get going.” After about 10 minutes of Derpy getting ready they finally set out for the hill where Spitfire had set up their picnic. 30 minutes until sunrise. They landed at the hill and Spitfire was graced with the site of Derpy having her breath taken away. “You did all this for me?” Derpy asked with awe. “Well yes and no.” Spitfire replied. “ It was entirely my idea, but I had our breakfast made by Risotto, since I can’t cook.” Derpy replied to Spitfire with, not words, but a kiss to her cheek. “This is very sweet of you Spitfire.” Derpy said “Thank you.” “Anything for you love.” Spitfire replied. “Now lets eat.” Spitfire finished setting the picnic up and the two of them enjoyed a lovely breakfast while talking about how their day was yesterday. Spitfire told Derpy about the new routine that they had came up with for their show the next week. Derpy told Spitfire that she was out delivering mail yesterday and managed to not only make all of her deliveries on time but was able to do it without having a single incident. Her boss was very pleased with her. During this time Spitfire kept checking her watch periodically to make sure she didn’t miss her chance. “Everything has to be perfect.” 1 minute until Sunrise. This was it. “Hey Derpy, are you ready to see the sunrise?” Spitfire asked. “I’m ready to do anything with you Spitfire.” Derpy answered. “No matter how long it takes, I’m willing to stick by your side.” If Spitfire needed anymore of a confirmation for what she was about to do, this was definitely it. Zero Hour. The time had finally come. Sunrise. As the sun was cresting, Spitfire reached into her bag and pulled out a small black rectangular box. She took a deep breath and, with all the courage she could muster, began to speak. “Derpy?” “Yes Spitfire.” She replied. “These last three years have been amazing. Being with you has made me a better pony than I could ever hope to be. When I first met you I was immediately mesmerized by those beautiful eyes of yours. I didn’t care about your condition. All I cared about was talking to the beautiful pegasus with the gorgeous eyes.” Spitfire said “I remember that. You went through so much trouble to disguise yourself from me it was actually pretty funny.” Derpy said trying to suppress a giggle, but failing horribly. “Yea, those were simpler times and I look back on those days fondly.” Spitfire said “Ever since then I have fallen more and more in love with you as each day passed us by.” Spitfire pulled Derpy close with her wing and held out the box. “This is for you Derpy. This is my way of showing my love for you.” Spitfire opened the box and Derpy gasped. In the box was a golden chain with a beautiful opal pendant on it. “Derpy will you do the honor of becoming my Wife?” Spitfire asked Spitfire saw tears of joy falling from Derpy’s gorgeous eyes and the only word she said at the peak of the sunrise was: Yes
