Chapter 1

Rainbow Dash carefully landed on the edge of a cliff. It was cloudless evening, she really took care of a nice weather today. "Good job you made." she thought to herself and a little smile appeared on her face. Yet she felt a little nervous as she waited for her precious friend.

It had been about four months since she and Fluttershy confessed their feelings to each other.

Rainbow wanted everything to be great this day, so she went to their date earlier. She took out a blanket from her saddlebags and spread it out on the grass. Then she proceeded to take out the rest of her things.

"Yes, just like this. Shy will surely like it." She managed to bring Fluttershy's favorite cakes undamaged.
Dash spent a lot of time trying to bake them under supervision of Pinkie Pie in Sugarcube Corner, so she was really happy at the sight that the cakes didn't get harmed along the journey.

"Darn, I forgot the flowers!" she remembered. But right after that, she realized it would take too long to return for them.
"Never mind, I guess I just have to gather some now. Hopefully Fluttershy won't mind some commoner ones." Dash quickly took her bags off, and flew to pick some flowers before Fluttershy appears.

Soon, Rainbow Dash found some wild roses and daisies, and tightened them together. A quick glance at her work showed poor, yet somehow beautiful bouquet.
When everything was prepared, she laid down on the blanket for a moment.

"Bah, this is boring." she said to herself after a while. „I'm sure I can do some practicing before Fluttershy gets here." The rainbow colored pegasus took off from the ground and flew in the air.

She was just doing loops and twists, as she was used to, when she noticed the yellow mare coming out from amongst the trees.

„Watch out, Fluttershy!" shouted Rainbow as she saw, that her marefriend is paying much more attention to Rainbow's stunts than to the way she was going.
But Fluttershy clearly didn't hear her, and with the next step she took, she bumped with her head into a tree.

Rainbow Dash quickly dove down through the air to help her.
„Are you okay?" she asked and landed next to the pink maned mare.

„Oh..my..I-I think I didn't see that tree." Fluttershy said softly. „But yes, I guess I'm alright."

Rainbow Dash giggled and helped her on her hooves.

„You were doing so well I-I just couldn't take my eyes off you."

„Oh come on, you know I can do this for you anytime you want." said Rainbow and blushed a little. „Look, you've got something in your mane." Rainbow reached in Fluttershy's hair and took out a bit of bark.

„Thank you, Dashie." smiled Fluttershy.

The two then walked towards the blanket and sat down.

„Oh..these flowers are beautiful. A-are they for me?" asked Fluttershy by surprise.

„Of course." chuckled Rainbow „I thought you'd like flowers, but I forgot the bouquet at my house. So I collected some around here, hoping you would like these as well.."

„T-they are gorgeous, wild roses are my favorite. How did you know?"

„You know..you have some planted in front of your house, so I figured out. The rest is just.. well, things I found here." said Rainbow, scratching on her head.

„And blueberry cakes? I like them the most."

„Yea.. Pinkie Pie helped me bake them." Rainbow's face blushed again. „Also, I've got some special surprise for you tonight."

Fluttershy looked quietly into Rainbow's eyes, saying nothing. But the look was enough for Rainbow Dash to know exactly, what Fluttershy meant by it. Though it was still hard for her, to express it in words.
And Rainbow felt the same way. Sitting by her marefriend, watching the sun go down, the otherwise restless and fidgety pegasus felt the gentle, soothing essence, which made her forget about all her needs for flying. Her bliss was here, she didn't need anything nor anypony else at this time.

As the edge of the sun touched the horizon, Fluttershy softly leaned her head at Rainbow's shoulder. They were together, with their souls, with their minds, with their hearts.
Rainbow couldn't remember, if she felt anything like this, before she started dating Fluttershy. She had never enjoyed things like stargazing, or lying still and watching the birds fly and sing. Fluttershy showed her countless beauties, which Rainbow could never see by herself.

When the myriad of stars showed up, the two mares laid themselves on their backs and gently hugged each other.

„Has anypony ever tried to count them all?" asked quietly Fluttershy after some time.

„I think Twilight told me once about somepony who did it, but I can't remember now. You know..me and all the learning just don't get on well" replied Rainbow, and giggled.

Suddenly, there was a bright flash of light and a spark of spell flew high into the air, before disappearing in the endless darkness of night sky.

„Ah, my surprise" smiled Rainbow.

At first, Fluttershy couldn't comprehend what Rainbow meant, but after a little while she started to see something strange between the stars. Something that her grandmother told her about long time ago. She used to say to her, that such thing can be only seen there, where reigns the never-ending winter.

„A-are these what I think? The Northern Lights?"

„Yes, or as I like to say: Rainbow-in-the-night" stated proudly Rainbow Dash.

Stripes of colored light burned through the sky, waving their way between stars, curling and twisting in chaotic directions. Two of them randomly formed a heart for a moment of time, before bursting out in thousands of strings and disappearing again.

„Um.. Shy?" asked Rainbow as something wet slipped on her shoulder.

„I-I have n-never seen such beautiful things Dashie" whispered Fluttershy, sobbing between each word. „A-all..all you have d-done for me tonight.. Can I e-ever repay this to you?"

„Shh..don't cry sweetie, you're returning it whenever you're with me."

„I'm so happy to have you Rainbow Dash. If this is only a d-dream, then I wish it to never end."

„Is this a dream?" Rainbow asked as she pressed her lips against Fluttershy's.

After a while, the magical show in the sky faded, and the lights began to disappear one by one.

„Well, never mind, let's go home, it's getting cold" said Rainbow when last of the sparks went out.

„O-oh, okay then.." Fluttershy helped Rainbow to pack her things in her saddlebags, and after a while, they were ready to leave and return to their homes. It was a great evening for both of them. Rainbow offered to accompany Fluttershy through the dark night to her cottage.
During the journey, they had a merry conversation, but something seemed to bother Rainbow Dash. Even though Fluttershy has not noticed, it was one thing Rainbow had not enough courage to do.

"Um, Rainbow? Don't you want to stay over night with me?" Fluttershy softly asked as they finally reached their destination.

„I'm sorry Fluttershy, but.. I.. have to go home, you know.. unpack all these things, aaaand.. stuff like that. Sorry."

„Oh.. well, but.. oh, never mind. Just..thank you for the time you spent with me."

„Pff.. Okay, you know what? That can wait till morning. I'll stay with you here, if you want me to." Rainbow Dash gave up and followed Fluttershy indoors.
„I just hope she won't find it" Rainbow thought to herself as she stepped over the doorstep and proceeded to go further into Fluttershy's cottage.

They had a relaxing bath and Fluttershy quickly prepared a light dinner, before they went to sleep.
When they finally got to bed, it was far past midnight and they both were a bit too tired to had some more fun. Fluttershy just snuggled to Rainbow, kissed her goodnight and then the two mares slowly fell into their dreams.

Chapter 2

Rainbow slowly opened her eyes, as the chirping of birds outside gently woke her up. Fluttershy was still lying next to her, slightly puffing in her mane as she was softly breathing. Rainbow could watch her sleep for hours, just to be there when she would wake up. She lifted her head to find out what time it was.

„Nearly noon and she still hasn't woken up?" Rainbow thought to herself looking at her friend. „Well, better not to disturb her" she smiled, ready to lay herself back down. But in the same moment she saw something that made her heart jump.

„No, no, no, no, no! That surely must have done that stupid rabbit! Gosh, he's so jealous he would ruin the whole thing!"

In between the mares was a small purple box, opened and precisely aimed for Fluttershy to see it's contents in the moment she would open her eyes. Inside the box was magnificent hoofband, just in Fluttershy's size, with a rare gemstone on top of it. The hoofband was Rainbow's family heirloom. It was passed down from mother to daughter for generations. Now, it was Rainbow's most prized property. She quickly grabbed the box and hid it again in her saddlebags next to the bed.

„Phew, that was close" she whispered and carefully got out of the bed.
She then went into the kitchen. Even though Rainbow Dash tried her best, she was never able to make as delicious food as Fluttershy. Today she made some sandwiches and Fluttershy's favorite tea. She managed to do something, what resembled breakfast in bed. Rainbow placed the food and tea on a plate and carried it to the bedroom. She put the plate on a night table and smiled at her still sleeping marefriend.

Rainbow lowered her head and gently whispered to Fluttershy
"Darling, I know you must have been tired after yesterday, but it's time to get up.."

..No response..

Rainbow nuzzled up Fluttershy's mane and softly kissed her.
"Come on sweetie, your animals are waiting for you. It's about high noon, you can't be sleeping for so long."

..Still no response has been made..

It was unusual for Fluttershy to sleep so long, not mentioning she was always woken by the first tweet of a bird. Yet now, she somehow didn't respond neither to her friend's whispering, nor her gentle poking and nuzzling. Rainbow knew that this wasn't alright.

"Um, Fluttershy..?" Rainbow said as loud as she normally spoke. "I think you should really wake up. You know, this is kinda funny, but.." she giggled a bit, but there was anxiety in her voice. "..yea, come on now. We got things to do today!"

..Still nothing happened..

Rainbow slowly started to panic.
She shook Fluttershy a little but again with no result. She tried to shake a bit harder, but even that didn't help.

Rainbow lowered head again to hear if her friend is alright.
"Dum...dum...dum.." Fluttershy's heart was beating slowly, and she was taking periodical shallow breaths.

"So why do you refuse to wake up?" Rainbow was desperate.
"You stay right here, I'll bring help!" she shouted before bursting out of house and dashing off in high speed. The rainbow colored pegasus now had only one thing in mind, she must find somepony, who will be able to help her friend.

Fluttershy opened her eyes as the first bird sitting in her window began to sing.
The sun was just rising. All her cottage was filled with gentle, red sunshine, when the sun's fingers reached the house.
She turned around and saw her beloved friend, peacefully sleeping just a few inches away from her.
Fluttershy was so happy.
It was just another waking-up at Rainbow's side, one of many, yet something seemed to be changed.
As the red sunbeams were softly reflecting on Rainbow's mane, Fluttershy felt pure happiness flowing through her.
But all the beauty was making her cry.
She rather held her tears back, knowing it might wake the nearby pegasus. She moved a little closer to Rainbow, when something cold touched her hoof. Fluttershy curiously looked upon what it was.
She found a small purple box with golden lining around it's edges.

"Um..where did this come from?" she thought to herself as she was opening it.

What she saw took her breath away. Inside were photos of her and Rainbow Dash, and a golden hoofband. The band was decorated with delicate engraving along its surface and magnificent rare gemstone was proudly sitting on the top. It looked old and very elegant at the same time.
Fluttershy has seen many jewels at Rarity's house, but none of them was ever so amazing.
Eventually she realized, that what she was looking at, was a wedding ring.

A wave of immense joy and love coursed through her whole body.
All her dreams, all her hopes, all her wishes were completed in one moment of time. Her goal of life was fulfilled.

"Is this.. could it be? Rainbow wants to marry.. me ?"

She couldn't fight back the tears anymore. The feelings were overwhelming.
Her eyes slipped back to the sleeping mare.

"I don't need the Eden anymore, I just found one" Fluttershy thought to herself and she softly wept with joy.

All of sudden, she felt little dizziness in her head. She decided to just stay in bed for a little while, closed her eyes and fell asleep again.

"Where to go, where to go, where to??" Rainbow's mind was in flames and it was hard to think straight.
Suddenly she remembered. "TWILIGHT!!"
Rainbow took sharp left turn and headed towards the library. She didn't even bother with slowing down when she was closing to the big tree. Rainbow hit the door as a cannonball, and crashed it down.

"TWILIGHT!!" she yelled as she jumped back on her hooves.

The lavender unicorn craned her head from the balcony "Rainbow Dash! Why are you ruining my library?!"

"Quickly, come with me, I'll explain everything on the way!"

Twilight had never seen Rainbow Dash so desperate before. She left all of her things where they just were, and rushed to help Rainbow, whatever she needed help with.
As soon as they left the library, Rainbow deployed a sharp pace, which Twilight was barely able to keep with.

"Rainbow, wait! Where are you taking me?"

"To Fluttershy's house, something has happened to her!"

"What??" Twilight couldn't believe her ears.

"Come on Twilight! This is too slow!" shouted Rainbow. "Get on my back, I'll fly us there!"

Weight of another pony was a heavy burden even for Rainbow, but she quickly managed to take off and fly as fast as she could towards Fluttershy's home. Twilight was really impressed by Dash's speed, but she couldn't also left unnoticed her sweat, mixed with tears.

"This can't as bad as she says" Twilight tried to calm herself down. "She always exaggerates the worries about Fluttershy a bit..."

When they arrived to the cottage, Rainbow Dash didn't mind her passenger and tried to land the same way she did in the library. However, Twilight kept this possibility in mind and slowed the nearly insane pegasus down by spell.
When they both landed safely, Twilight rushed into the house to see what is really going on. She was a bit confused when she saw Fluttershy peacefully sleeping in her bed, with a light smile on her face.

"Well, she seems to be just sleeping.."

"Yea? You call this just sleeping?" Rainbow shook the yellow pegasus.

..Again without results..

"See? This can't be just sleeping.." She desperately collapsed down on the floor next to the bed, her whole body burning in pain from the flight, her blood-shot eyes shedding tears.

Everypony knew Dash and Fluttershy were in very close relationship, but Twilight has never realized how deeply the two loved each other. She came closer to bed and lowered her head to Fluttershy.
She heard her heart beating, yet really quiet, and felt the breathing on her face, but too shallow to be alright.

"S-s-she'll be alright, w-won't she, Twi?" the pegasus was whispering through tears.

But Twilight was in doubt.

"We need to rush her to hospital right away. She breathes too weakly." Twilight cursed herself in her thoughts for underestimating the situation.
"We have to do it, NOW!" she shouted, bringing Dash back to reality. "You fly her there, and I'm gonna find some way how to help her."

"R-right, I'll fly her there.." Rainbow gathered the rest of her strength and once Fluttershy was safely on Rainbow's back, she took off and headed straight to hospital.

Twilight watched them fly away for a while, then she galloped back to her library.

"Where is it, where is that book?" Twilight pulled about a dozen of various books from the shelves, quickly leafing through them.
"No... no... no! There's nothing in here! Is there any useful book when somepony needs it?" She pulled out another bunch of books.

Rainbow flew fast. Faster then her body would actually like to. Her wings hurt more with each flap and she started to feel dizzy. The dread of losing Fluttershy was the only thing that was keeping her in flight.

"Just a bit further, COME ON! You can make it, you must make it!" She felt an unbearable pain in her head, but she ignored it.

"There it is! Remember your training! Breathe!" The world around her slowly began to blur.

"NO! We're not there yet! Just a little more!" The colors grew paler as Dash slowly began to lose consciousness.
"Must..reach..the hospital.. MUST--SAVE--FLUT--" She blacked out, crashing on the ground.

"Yes! This one has to work." Twilight quickly tore out the page which described the spell. "Spike!"

"Yes, ma'am!" her number one assistant was always ready.

"Quickly, you're coming with me!" Twilight seated him behind her saddlebags and rushed to the hospital. She levitated the torn-out page before him, so he could read all the details to her while they were running.
"I hope they could make it" she thought to herself.

Chapter 3

It was sad to see her friends like this. All possible medical devices trying to keep Fluttershy alive, while she still had the smile on her face. Rainbow Dash with broken wing was curled up on another bed next to her, quietly weeping and whispering something to her.
Twilight never imagined that 'the best young flier' could be actually in worse condition than the one who is close to death.

"I dare not to estimate which one of them is harmed worse" said nurse Redheart quietly to Twilight. "But I can assure you, that if one of them dies, the other one will follow her very soon. Fluttershy is stabile right now, but each day she'll be weaker. We can't do anything more, it's up to you."

Twilight knew that. This wasn't like anything she has seen ever before.

"Rainbow, I found that spell! I can wake her up." Twilight was trying to console her friend, but Dash's mind was somewhere else. Any attempts to get Rainbow's attention seemed to be in vain.
Twilight prepared herself to cast the magic on Fluttershy. She took a deep breath and tried to concentrate as much as she could. Her horn began to glow on the top. Slowly the spark of magic spread upon the rest of it.

"You can do this Twi. You're the best one." Spike gently tried to help her but at the moment he couldn't do much more than say something cheerful.

As the magic started to affect Fluttershy, she seemed to be floating few inches above the bed. Then something cracked in the air and Twilight was thrown back against the wall by invisible power.

When Twilight woke up, she found herself lying on a bed too. She had some scratches over her face and a bad headache, but she was otherwise unharmed. Right before her was standing her teacher with a sad look on her face. She realized it must have been few hours since the spell failed.

"Wha- What happened?" asked Twilight in confusion. "Princess, what are you doing here?"

"My dearest student.." Twilight was sure there was something terribly bothering the princess.

"My dearest student, Spike wrote me a letter about the state of things around here.." Celestia let out silent sigh and looked straight into Twilight's eyes before she could say anything.

"Before you ask, yes, I know what is going on here, but no, I am not able to help anypony of you."
The princess' eye dropped one tear before she spoke again.

"I am here to offer you a solution. But it comes at immense cost. You are now to choose between your own happiness, and lives of your two friends."

Everypony in the room was now staring at the princess, except Rainbow Dash.
Twilight stood up from her bed, trying to comprehend what princess was saying to her.

"You now have chance to save them both, but remember, you are not choosing between your temporary mood. Should you decide to save your friends, you will never again feel joy, you will never be able to laugh, you will live in a nightmare. You will only know sorrow, pain and misery. Your dreams will disappear and your soul will become the darkest place ever known."

"But my friends will live.." Twilight finally fully understood what the princess was trying to say.

Aiding her friends would mean eternal agony, her soul would be sacrificed in exchange for their chances to live. She read about a similar story in one of her books few weeks ago, but didn't think this could be the same.
No spell or potion ever created was powerful enough to wake the Dreamer.
Fluttershy needed something different, something Twilight was afraid to even think of.

Twilight was helpless, for the first time in her life, she didn't know what to do.
She looked at Spike, he was curled up in corner, shivering and crying.
She looked at Fluttershy, she was still smiling in her silent dream.
Then she looked at Rainbow. For the first time since she had brought Fluttershy to hospital, Dash was looking at Twilight, saying nothing.
But the look in her eyes was enough for Twilight, to know exactly what Rainbow meant by it. It wasn't hard to express it in words.. don't let her die

Twilight made her choice. „My friends will live."

The princess shed another tear, then lowered her head.

„My dearest student.." With these words and a loud whacking sound, she and Twilight disappeared in a flash of light, as they were teleported away.

Chapter 4

It had been four sad days since Twilight and princess went away. Spike locked himself in library and didn't come out for all the time. Fluttershy and Rainbow were still in the hospital, on their beds, next to each other. But smile disappeared from Fluttershy's face. As well as from anypony in Ponyville, who knew what Twilight did.
Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Applejack were just by Rainbow and Fluttershy, when Spike stormed into the room.

„They.. here.. coming!" He was barely able to speak, but was holding in his hand half burned piece of paper.

After a while somepony entered the room. It was a lavender unicorn mare that remotely resembled Twilight. She was walking slowly, with her head low so much, that she was dragging her mane on the ground.
Every light she passed seemed to fade a little, while she was around. Even her presence alone was enough to make most of ponies cry.

As she was going around Rainbow Dash, the pegasus jumped off the bed and went straight to her. Rainbow lifted Twilight's head and looked into her void, lifeless eyes.

„Twi, I never wanted this.. Please, can you forgive m-me?" With the last words the pegasus collapsed on the floor, bursting in tears.

Twilight stepped over her, but didn't lower her head again. She went straight to Fluttershy. She looked at the poor little mare for a moment, then leaned her head forward.
With glowing horn, she slowly touched Fluttershy's chest, leaving a small black stain on her flawless fur.

„You are free now" Twilight whispered.

Fluttershy opened her eyes and blinked several times. She was in a dark cave. The Sun has just risen and was shining with it's red and orange beams through the cave's entrance. Fluttershy's head ached a little. She didn't remember how did she get in there. She stood up on her hooves and walked towards the exit.

„Oh Fluttershy.." she thought to herself „you really shouldn't be here. Just think about Rainbow.. She is now surely afraid of where you've been. You shouldn't scare her like this.. Come on now, let's just return to her and apologize. Hopefully, she would not be upset so much."

Although it was early in the morning, the strength of light blinded her as she went out of the cave. She stood still for a brief moment, looking to the ground with her half-closed eyes, until they got used to the shine. She lifted her head and tried to specify where she was. But was stunned by what she saw.

Unable to move, or even think, Fluttershy was staring at inferno. What was formerly a forest, was now burned ground.
Whirlwinds and firestorms were raging through the land, cutting their ways in various directions. A flow of unbearable heat burst into Fluttershy's face, and drops of sweat ran down her forehead.
The sky was covered in heavy, sticky smoke, stretching amongst the clouds like a dark veil of impenetrable blackness.
All creatures either choked to death, or were burned alive in their shelters.
This land was dead, hostile to anything living.
Despite this all, a pair of merciless eyes was looking upon Fluttershy, watching her every single breath.
Someone saw an easy prey and went silently after it, keeping in distance.

She was smacked back to reality when the ceiling caved in, and avalanche of dirt buried the entrance behind her. Fluttershy squeaked in terror and galloped down a small hill, where she was standing.
She ran through the flames, dodging scorched branches, desperately trying to get away from that scenery.
The further she ran, the more her hooves stung. However, she went far and left the burning woodland behind her, before she collapsed by a creek. She slowly calmed herself down and took a few sips of the cool water. After a short rest, she quietly continued in her journey.

„I wonder what was the cause of all that chaos" she thought to herself.

Fluttershy finally came to a place that she was familiar with. Froggy Bottom Bog greeted her with croaking and many other sounds of the wildlife.

„Yay, I guess I'm not so far from Ponyville as I thought" she smiled.

„Fluttershy! There you are.."

The yellow mare turned around, frightened a little.
Whom she saw, was her purple friend, Twilight Sparkle. The unicorn's mane was soaked with blood and on her side was widely opened scar.
Fluttershy's eyes started to fill with tears.

„Don't cry for me, I can take care of myself, but you need to return to the village. There's somepony who needs you more than I."
This didn't make sense to Fluttershy.
„Just go and leave me!"
Twilight urged and touched Fluttershy's chest with her muddy hoof, leaving stain on it.
„Haven't you heard me? Be on your way, now!"

The pegasus was sure that Twilight would bleed out soon after she would leave, but if she said somepony needed her more, then something terrible must have happened. She took off and headed to the Ponyville.

The whole place seemed to be devastated as Fluttershy was closing to the village. The houses were torn apart, wreckage spread along the streets.
Scent of death coursed through her as she landed at her cottage. She quickly went inside, but the house was empty. Neither her animals, nor anypony else were in.

Shortly after, she noticed hoofprints, going away from the building. She knew these too well, there was no doubt. Fluttershy followed them fast.

„No, no, this can't be.." she found Rainbow Dash lying on her side, her heart still weakly beating.

„Shy, you're here.." Rainbow quietly spoke and a light smile took upon her face as Fluttershy grabbed her in arms.
„I knew you would find me.." Rainbow closed her eyes again. "I'm happy that I won't die alone.."

„You will be alright, Dashie. You can't leave me, we still have so many things to do.." Fluttershy started to cry with anguish. She had never before felt so weak, so helpless. The love of her life was dying in her arms and she could do nothing against it.

„I'm so sorry Fluttershy. This is all my fault."

„Shh..don't speak." she cradled Rainbow, weeping in her mane.

„I love you Shy. I'm glad I had you as my friend.." Rainbow whispered with her last breath.

The pain became too intense, and knocked Fluttershy unconscious, curled up beside Rainbow Dash as if they both were only sleeping.

A dreadful roar woke her up. She opened her eyes and saw the body of her beloved pegasus, lying within her embrace, without any signs of life. She carefully laid it on the ground next to her.
Her mind was numbed by sorrow, her sight blurred. The bitterness coursed through her veins like a poison. Fluttershy wasn't able to cry, for she ran out of tears.
She sat at Rainbow's side, waiting silently for her fate.
Her life was pointless. All colors of world, all her joys and dreams disappeared with Rainbow's passing.

Again she heard the roar, now much closer. The hunter from firelands finally found her, and she had nowhere to run, nor she was willing to.
Fluttershy knew who it was, she could easily identify every beast by sounds they made.

„At least this will be quick" she thought to herself as a huge krenshar jumped form behind a bush.
She looked in his blood-thirsty eyes, feeling no fear. With two cat-like leaps, the predator crossed the distance between him and his prey. He lifted his paw to strike the little pegasus, that was watching him and peacefully waiting for the inevitable.

"Thank you.." whispered Fluttershy softly, as her tortured soul was finally relieved.

Fluttershy gasped for air, and loudly inhaled. She was back in hospital. Her mind returned to her clear, but her heart was full of sorrow. She was shocked, confusedly seeking the krenshar with her frightened eyes.

„It-it was a dream.." Fluttershy said quietly, realizing that she was safe and lying on a bed.
Rainbow jumped from the ground upon hearing her voice. She embraced Fluttershy, kissing her and crying on her shoulder, this time with happiness.

„I had a dream" Fluttershy whispered in Rainbow's ear and hugged her with all the strength she possessed. "P-please, don't ever leave me Dashie."

"I won't, I promise Fluttershy.. I won't.."

„She has felt the pain of loss, touched the Great Void. Now, she will be alright" Twilight slowly turned around and walked away. As she was closing to the door, Spike stepped in her way.

„And-d just w-where you think y-you are g-going?" streams of tears were running down his face. He stood there, looking directly in Twilight's eyes.

„Let her go Spike, please." Princess Celestia was standing outside the room, unnoticed until she spoke. "She does not belong here.. Not anymore."

But Spike didn't move.
"No! She is the p-pony that brought me-e to this world, if she c-cannot stay here, then I'm going w-with her."
Determined not to lose her, Spike fell on the floor and hugged Twilight's front legs.

„So be it." The princess cast a teleportation spell and with loud whacking sound, they were gone.

Epilogue

Rainbow Dash carefully landed on the edge of a cliff. She spread the blanket and unpacked her things from her saddlebags.

„Today Rainbow" she told to herself „Today is the day." She took out the purple box from her bag and carefully placed it on the blanket.

It had been about four months. Four months and six days since she and Fluttershy confessed their feelings to each other..
