In the year following the attempt the Dazzlings made to take over the school, Adagio and her sisters learn what it`s like to make friends the normal way-and to ask for forgiveness.
Adagio Dazzle learns what it really means to earn somebody's trust and the value of making friends.
Walking down the street, Adagio Dazzle didn`t look up for fear that someone would recognize her and start making a scene. Suddenly, she was blinded by a mass of bright pink hair. She stopped and looked up, only to quickly duck her head again when she realized it was Pinkie Pie.
"Hi, Adagio!" Pinkie squealed.
"Shh!" Adagio looked around nervously to see if anyone had heard the outburst. "Come with me." Adagio said. She ducked into a small coffee shop on the corner of the street.
"So what's up?" Pinkie asked.
"Nothing, I was just trying to get to the store without somebody making a scene. You know tempers are still running high from the Battle of the Bands....not that I blame anyone." she added quietly.
Just then, Adagio realized that if she ever wanted to be able to walk through town without worrying about being yelled at, or worse, she was going to have to make the first move. "Hey, Pinkie, how'd you like to hang out sometime?" "That is, if you want to." she added quickly.
"Ohmigoshohmigoshohmigosh! I thought you'd never ask! I mean, I know you l tried to like, take over the world and all that but I'm sure you`re a really nice person!"
Adagio smiled as she tried to make sense of the rush of words.
"And maybe my friends could come and we could have a big party! You could invite all your friends too.." She trailed off at the dejected look on Adagio's face. "Oops, sorry Adagio, I forgot about the whole 'Take Over the World' thing for a minute."
"That's alright Pinkie, I just wish everyone else would forget too, then maybe I could try to make some friends."
"But you already have a friend Adagio!" Pinkie Pie said.
"I do?" Adagio wondered. "Who?"
"Me!" Pinkie said with a giggle. "I'm everybody's friend!"
Adagio smiled halfheartedly. "Thanks Pinkie. For what it`s worth, I'm glad you're my friend.
The next week, Adagio sent Sonata and Aria a letter explaining what had happened between her and Pinkie Pie.
Dear sisters, I know you two aren`t talking to me right now, but I thought I`d let you know that I ran into a pony from the Rainbooms last week and she and I arranged a get together with her friends. P.S. You are both invited.
The next day she received a response.
Hi Adagio! it`s Aria, Sonata doesn`t want to talk to you and she said she will not come to the get together but I will come. P. S. Will there be tacos?
Adagio smiled at the P.S. then put her hood up so she could go to SugarCube Corner. But as she was ready to enter the bakery, she was almost run over by a very excited Pinkie Pie.
"Pinkie Pie, what are you doing?" Adagio asked, rubbing her arm from her collide with the other girl.
"Adagio! I was just coming to see you! you`re never gonna believe it, I mean you might, but you might not so I should just ask you if you believe it but that would be silly wouldn't it?
Then Pinkie Pie realized what a strange look Adagio was giving her.
"What?" Pinkie asked.
"What won't I believe?" Adagio asked.
"Oh! Well, I was talking to the girls and most of them love the idea of all of getting together!"
"Most of them?"
Pinkie Pie drooped a little. "Well, Rainbow Dash didn`t really want to do it `cause she thought it might be another plot to take over the world like last time!"
Adagio hung her head. "Well I guess I kind of expected that of most of them, but for what it`s worth, can you tell them I'm sorry and I really would like to try again?
"But that's what I was coming to see you about! All the others want to get together for a picnic!"
"Really?" Adagio perked up "That sounds like fun!"
"I know you're just gonna love the others when you get to know them better!" Pinkie said hopping along excitedly. "Do you think they'll like me?" Sonata asked worriedly. "Of course they will!" Pinkie said, "How could they not? I mean, we're friends with Sunset Shimmer, aren't we? And she tried to take over the world through hypnosis too!"
Adagio buried her face in her hands. "I am never going to make any friends, I'm too much trouble." Suddenly she realized that Pinkie Pie had stopped, and she looked up to see that Sunset Shimmer and the others were all staring at her.
Mortified, she held out her hand. "Hi. I'm Adagio Dazzle. I guess you already knew that though. Hehe I'll Just shut up now." Her cheeks flamed crimson and she ducked her head again.
Rainbow Dash stepped forward. "So. Pinkie Pie said you wanted to see us, did you want to try feeding off us again, or was the first time we defeated you enough?
"Rainbow Dash!" Applejack admonished sternly. "What did we talk about?"
"No, she's right, I understand if none of you trust me. I'm just glad you're all willing to talk to me." Said Adagio.
Fluttershy stepped forward "I'm happy to meet you." She said quietly.
"What's your name?" Adagio asked.
"Um, it's Fluttershy."
"I'm sorry, what?" Adagio asked, confused.
"Fluttershy" She squeaked.
Adagio looked at the others. "Is she okay?" She asked.
Don`t mind her, she's just shy." Said Sunset Shimmer.
"So what do you guys like to do? I guess besides save the world from lunatics like me." Adagio laughed wryly.
"Why? So you can come up with another way to brainwash everyone?" Rainbow Dash demanded.
"RAINBOW DASH!" Shouted everyone but Fluttershy.
"What?" She asked belligerently.
Adagio interrupted. "Maybe I should just go, I'm just causing more trouble."
"No! Don`t go Adagio!" Pinkie said. "Rainbow Dash is just being stubborn."
"But-"
"Pinkie`s right, you should at least eat before you leave." Applejack said. "Besides, Rainbow's not so bad once you get to know her." She added.
"I dunno.." Adagio said, torn between wanting to be friends with the girls and the desire to hide and only come out when she absolutely had to.
"Come on Dagi! You have to try these cookies!" Said Sonata, stuffing cookies in her mouth.
Pinkie Pie went over to where the food was spread out. "I know! Aren't they amazing?" She said to Sonata.
"So, what do you say Sugarcube? Will you join the picnic?"
"Well... Alright." Said Adagio.
"New Friends Party!!!" Pinkie Pie bounced up and down excitedly.
"Uh, is she always like this?" Adagio asked. "Oh, no offense." She added quickly, cringing.
"None taken." Pinkie grinned.
"And to answer yer question, she`s usually much more, Pinkie than this." Applejack said.
"Is that even possible?" Sonata asked.
"Sonata!" Adagio said. "I'm sorry, she`s not really sure what's okay to talk about."
"Nah, it`s fine." Sunset Shimmer said. "After all, look at Pinkie Pie." She pointed.
Pinkie Pie was using the sweets from the picnic to assemble a statue of herself.
"As you can see, we're used to (ahem) unusual behavior, so you are perfectly fine." Rarity added.
"Well... Alright." Said Adagio.
"Good." Said Rarity. "Now, I believe introductions are in order."
"This is Applejack, Fluttershy, Sunset Shimmer, Rainbow Dash, and, of course, you already know Pinkie."
The next week, Adagio decided it was time to face the music, (no pun intended.) and start going back to Canterlot High. She was getting ready to leave for school when suddenly Pinkie Pie popped up and started dragging Adagio along.
"I'm sooo excited that your finally going back to school Adagio!" She said, hopping up and down.
"Yeah, me too." Adagio replied ."I just can't wait to see how much everyone hates me." She added, slightly sarcastically.
"Aww, come on, don`t be all frowny!" Pinkie said. "Besides, how bad could it be?"
"Um, how about 'Hey everybody, it`s the Dazzlings, let`s throw stuff at them!' Is that bad enough for you?" Adagio replied acidly. Then, realizing what she`d said, she apologized. "Oh no! I`m so sorry! Please forget I said that. Or better yet, maybe I should just go home."
"Oh, please, don`t be such a 'Scaredy Siren'!" Pinkie Pie giggled. "Besides, we`re already here!"
"Wait, what?" Adagio looked around. "Oh nononono, I-I'm sorry, I can't do this!" She turned to leave.
"Oof!" She heard someone say. Adagio looked up and realized that she had run into a boy who was trying to keep his balance without dropping all his books and a large object she realized was an instrument.
She reached out to help him. "oh my gosh! I am so sorry! are you all right?" She asked, unfortunately dropping all her own books trying to help him.
Pinkie Pie suddenly spoke up. "Well, it looks like you have everything under control here! See ya later!" She said before disappearing.
"Wait! Pinkie!" Adagio moaned in despair. "Ohh, could I get any more conspicuous?" She said to no one in particular, hiding her face.
Suddenly, she noticed that the boy she had bumped into had set all his things down to help her.
"Here, you dropped these?" He said with a hint of a smile.
"Thank you." She replied, taking the books. "You must be new here."
He laughed self-consciously "Is it that obvious?" He asked.
"Not exactly," Adagio said uncomfortably.
Suddenly he looked up from gathering up his stuff. "Oh! How tactless of me! I'm sorry, My name is Treble Clef. I'd, shake your hand but uh..."
She looked at everything he was holding. "Do you, maybe want some help?" She asked. "I'd understand if you didn't." She added quickly.
"Actually, I'd love some help." Treble answered. "Uh, are you okay?" He asked
Adagio suddenly realized her jaw was hanging open and snapped her mouth shut. "Oh! I'm sorry, you must not have heard yet."
"Heard what?" He asked.
"Nothing! I mean, well, I guess you'll hear about it soon enough." She took a deep breath. "My name is Adagio Dazzle." She tensed, waiting for him to recognize the name.
"Wow, that's a really cool name." He said.
"Huh? I mean, thanks." She replied, relieved. "So, what is all this stuff?" She asked gesturing to all the books he was trying to carry.
"This? Oh, this is my sheet music." He replied.
"Oh, wow! This is a lot of music." She said. "Oh, no offense." She said.
"Why would I be offended? It really is a lot isn't it?" He laughed.
"So what is that?" She asked, pointing at his instrument case.
"Oh, that`s my violin." He said. "Please don`t laugh!" He pleaded.
"Why would I laugh? I think violins are amazing!" She responded.
"Really? Do you play?" He asked.
"Oh, no! I don`t really...do...music." She replied, shoulders slumping.
"Really? Then why do you listen to violin?"
"Well, I like listening to music, I just don't sing. At least, not anymore." She replied.
"Why not? I bet you have a great voice!" Treble said.
"Well... Not exactly." She said.
"What do you mean? He asked.
"Well, let's just say, something happened, and now I don't sing anymore," She said sadly.
Suddenly, the bell rang. "Oh no! I'm late!" Both said at the same time. They laughed, then remembered what the bell meant.
"Where are we taking all your music stuff?" Adagio asked.
I was going to put it in the bandroom before class started, but now I don`t have time. Oh, what am I gonna do? All this sheet music won't fit in my locker with my violin!" He said worriedly.
"How about I put some of it in my locker?" Adagio offered.
"Oh, would you? you're a lifesaver! Thanks Adagio!"
"No problem. Now lets hurry before Principal Celestia catches us!" She replied, laughing as they rushed down the hall.bout the
Treble Clef was sitting in class daydreaming about the mysterious girl who had bumped into him earlier that morning when suddenly he realized the teacher was looking at him. "I'm sorry, what was that?" He asked. Ms. Cheerilee smiled and repeated herself. "Would you like to introduce yourself to the class?"
Treble blushed slightly and cleared his throat. "Hi, my name is Treble Clef, my family just moved here from out in the country and decided to let me choose whether I went to Crystal Prep or Canterlot High, and so far, I'm really glad I chose Canterlot High." He sat down and started working on the lesson.
Ms. Cheerilee beamed. "Well, we're glad to have you with us Treble Clef, and I'm sure that everyone here will do everything in there power to make you feel welcome."
