(edited) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunrise and Sunset Prologue: ‘Cuz you’re my bestest friend! Sunrise Light and Sunset Shimmer were the best of friends. They told each other everything, and would go over to each other’s houses and had sleepovers almost every day if they could. They spent almost every day together. Today, Sunrise and Sunset were playing together at Sunrise’s house. They were in Sunrise’s playroom. Sunrise was wearing a blue short sleeve hoodie with tan cargo shorts that showed his pure white skin. Sunset was wearing a white short sleeved shirt with a dark green skirt and red belt, and her hair was down. She was sitting at the play table making a bracelet, while Sunrise was playing with legos. “Hey, Sunrise!” Sunset had her hands behind her back, obviously hiding something from her friend. “Guess what I made for you?” Sunrise looked up at his friend. “What?” He attempted to look to see what she was hiding, but to no avail. “What is it, Sunset?” She showed what she was hiding: a friendship bracelet. There was an assortment of purple beads on it, and there were 3 round white beads with the letters ‘B’ , ‘F’ , and ‘F’ on it. Sunrise groaned. “Sunset, those are girls’ colors! I can’t wear that!”  “But Sunrise, I made it especially for you…” she frowned. Sunrise gave in. “Okay, fine…” Sunset put the bracelet on his wrist, and hugged him tightly. “Thank you, thank you, thank you, Sunrise! You’re the bestest friend in the entire world!” Sunrise smiled, even though he could barely breathe from Sunset’s bone-crushingly tight hug. “Sunset...I..can’t..breathe..” He said in-between breaths. “Oh..” Sunset let him go. “Sorry, Sunrise.” “It’s okay. You’re my bestest friend in the whole entire world, too!” Sunrise stated. “So, what do you wanna play next?” Sunset asked him. Sunrise’s mother walked  into the room , looking distraught, but trying her best to keep calm. “Sunset, you need to get your things together. Your dad called me, and he needs you home right away.” Mrs. Light  said, now starting to pick up Sunset’s things and putting them in the girl’s backpack. “But- but Daddy told me I didn’t have to leave ‘til dinnertime. Why do I have to go now?” She asked with a frown on her face. “I know honey, but your Daddy needs you home now. Now please, go put your coat and boots on.” She gave Sunset her backpack. “I will be driving you home, since it’s raining outside.” “O-okay.” Sunset looked back at Sunrise. “See you later, Sunrise.” “See ya later.” Sunrise waved as Sunset and his mother walked out of the room. --- Sunset was scared. Her dad never made her come home before she had to, and Mrs. Light looked worried. What was wrong? Mrs. Light stopped her car in front of Sunset’s house, and Sunset got out of the car. “Thanks for driving me home, Mrs. Light.” She said, now walking to her porch, so she wouldn’t get drenched from the pouring rain. “It’s no problem, sweetie.” Mrs. Light replied, then rolled up her window. Sunset walked into her house, and saw her dad, uncle, grandma, and her grandpa , who all looked like they had been crying. She noticed one thing: her mom wasn’t there. “Where’s Mommy?” Sunset asked, concerned. Sunset’s dad picked her up, and hugged her tightly. She felt her father’s tears landing on her coat. Why was her Daddy crying? Is her Mommy okay? “Sunset, honey..” Her father said between sobs. “Mommy is in a better place.” Sunset was shocked. She didn’t know what to say. --- [1 week later…] Sunset’s father was loading their belongings into a moving truck. Sunset knew she and her dad were leaving, but why? Her Mommy would want her to stay here and be happy, but her Daddy didn’t think so. Sunset walked out of her now empty house, except for a couple boxes here or there. Sunset walked up to her father and tugged on his pant leg to get his attention. Her dad looked down at her. “What do you need, sweetie?” “Daddy, why do we have to move?” Her father thought for a minute. “Because...I think you’re gonna have fun where we are moving to. The city is called Manehattan. It is a really fun place with lots of fun stuff to do, okay? Now go get your backpack from your room, we will be leaving soon.” Sunset turned around and began to walk into the house, but she thought about Sunrise for a moment. She wanted to go say bye to Sunrise. “Can I go say bye to Sunrise first?” Sunset asked. “No Sunset, you can’t.” Her father said while putting another box in the moving truck.  “Now please, go get your backpack, and check to make sure there’s nothing else in your room that you might’ve forgot.” Sunset looked down, sad that she couldn’t say bye to her best friend. Now Sunrise is gonna think Sunrise is mad at her, and he won’t wanna be her friend anymore. She went into her house and saw that the house was empty now. No more furniture, T.V. , or food in the refrigerator. She walked up the stairs and went into her bedroom. Her pink walls were now plain because all of her posters and mirrors were taken down. Her light orange backpack was hung on her doorknob, so she grabbed it and put in on her back. She walked out, turned around and looked at her room for one last time, and a tear shed from her eye. “Bye bye, Sunrise..” --- [The day after Sunset left..] Sunrise looked out his bedroom window, and saw that Sunset wasn’t outside...again. She hadn’t been outside her house for a week now, and he was getting worried. He didn’t have anyone to play with, or have fun with, or even talk to. Sure, he could talk to his mom or sister, but that was not the same. Sunset is his best friend. Then, Sunrise looked at Sunset’s house, and saw that her bedroom window was open, and her once orange curtains were gone. Sunrise decided to go downstairs and ask his mom why Sunset’s room was empty. One he got downstairs, he saw that his mom was in the kitchen, making lunch. She turned around and noticed Sunrise was standing there, looking worried. “What’s wrong, sweetie?” Ms Light asked. “Why is Sunset’s bedroom empty? I-I was looking out the window and saw that her curtains were gone, and so was everything else.” Sunrise explained. Sunrise’s mom thought of what to say for a moment. “Sunrise..Sunset had to move. She and her Dad needed to be close to her other family members.” Ms. Light explained. Tears formed in Sunrise’s eyes, and he ran upstairs to his room. He rummaged through his dresser drawers, and found the bracelet that Sunset made for him. He put it on, and looked out of his window. “Bye bye, Sunset…” Sunrise said, his eyes filled with tears. > Chapter 1: Just another Monday... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunrise and Sunset Chapter 1: Just another Monday… Beep!Beep!Beep! Sunrise groaned as he turned and hit the snooze button on his alarm. He wasn’t really a morning person, so his mom usually had to come in his room and wake him up after hearing his alarm go off so many times. Beep!Beep!Beep! Sunrise groaned and hit the snooze button...again. He heard his mother coming up the stairs, so he didn’t bother going back to sleep. His mom opened his door. “Sunrise, what did I tell you?” A woman with brown hair,  pale yellow skin and green eyes reprimanded him. “I’m sick of having to wake you up every day!” She rolled her eyes. Sunrise sat up from his bed and rubbed his hazel green eyes, and ruffled his brown hair. “Okay, Mom. I’ll get ready. “Breakfast will be ready when you come downstairs.” His mom, Hazel Light walked out of the room and went back downstairs. Sunrise sat up from his bed and went into the bathroom and brushed his teeth and took a shower. He came out of the bathroom, a green towel wrapped around him. He went to his closet and grabbed his school uniform: black dress pants, a white dress shirt, a plum-colored blazer, and a navy blue tie. He put the uniform on, and looked at himself in the mirror. He brushed and blow-dried his brown hair, and went downstairs, tying his tie on the way down. His mom handed him a plate with toast, sunny side up eggs, and bacon. “So, have any tests today?” Hazel asked, eating her breakfast and sitting across from Sunrise. Sunrise took a bite out of his toast. “I don’t think so.” Sunrise got his phone out from his blazer pocket, and checked the time: 7:30. He needed to be at school by 8:00, and the drive to school took about 30 minutes. “Mom, I gotta go...it’s 7:30.” Sunrise darted up to his room, grabbed his backpack, his phone, and car keys. “Alright, Sunrise...see you later. Love you!” She said, grabbing Sunrise’s dinner plate off the table. “Love you too, Mom.” Sunrise said while he walked up the stairs and grabbed his things. Sunrise walked out of the front door and got into his car: a 2003 Dodge Neon (because it’s the car I drive XD) ,  and started to head for his school: Crystal Prep. Sure, it was a long drive...but he didn’t mind, because he had more time to himself. Sunrise is a very quiet person, and doesn’t really have any friends, be he didn’t mind. He just keeps to himself mostly. Sunrise arrived at the school, parked his car in the designated school parking lot, and headed inside the school. Crystal Prep is a nice school. They make sure to keep their hallways and lockers looking nice and clean. Principal Cinch made sure all the trophies and trophy shelves were clean and polished, so that you could see your reflection in them. Sunrise went to his locker, and put his backpack in there and his books. Well, he took his History book out because that’s the first class he has. He shut his locker and headed to History class. Once he walked in the classroom, he saw Upper Crust, Lemon Zest, Indigo Zap, Sugarcoat, and Sour Sweet all in the back row, talking to each other about who knows what, while Lemon Zest was listening to her headphones in the corner. All of the girls looked at Sunrise as he enter Mr. Bullet wasn’t in the classroom, so everyone was talking to each other, while Sunrise sat in the front row on the last seat furthest away from the door. The teacher with dark blue hair with light blue and purple highlights, and white skin entered the room, and immediately headed to the back of the classroom to Lemon Zest. He grabbed her pink headphones off of her head. She looked up at him, tears in her eyes. “Lemon Zest, you know you can’t wear these in school. I’m confiscating these. You will get them back at the end of class.” Mr. Bullet told her, looking down at her, disappointed. He went back to his desk and put Lemon Zest’s headphones in his desk drawer. Lemon Zest rolled her eyes, and folded her arms and put her head on her desk and fell asleep. Mr. Bullet looked at her, and rolled his eyes. This happened every class, so he was used to it. “Alright class,  let’s start today’s lesson…” --- The bell rang, and everyone headed for the door.  Sunrise was the last one to leave class, like always. He walked through the hallway, sometimes accidentally bumping into people, which resulted in them giving him dirty looks. He just continued to quietly walk down the hallway until he got to his locker. Once he got there, he put in the combination and grabbed his English book. He headed back through the crowded hallway full of students rushing to get to class. Eventually, Sunrise got to his class and sat down in his seat, which was in the very back row in the far corner. He liked the class, but didn’t really like getting called on, because everyone would be looking at him. The teacher, Mrs. Rose, is very nice. The class wasn’t bad, everyone paid attention and are quiet for the whole lesson, surprisingly.  Mrs. Rose entered the classroom. She has light pink skin, and long, brown hair, and light yellow eyes. She was wearing the uniform that all teachers were required to wear: a grey skirt, a light blue dress shirt, and a dark purple blazer, and black dress shoes with white socks. She went over to her computer, and put up a slideshow on the board. All the students knew it was time to take notes, so everyone grabbed their notebooks and pencils. “Alright class, let’s start today’s lesson…” > Chapter 2: You look familiar... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunrise and Sunset Chapter 2: You look familiar… Sunrise put his books in his locker and began to head to his first class of the day, Mr. Bullet’s class. He walked into the classroom, and sat in the seat he always sits in: the front seat on the far right side of the classroom. There was one empty seat beside him, and one behind him. Indigo Zap, Sunny Flare, Lemon Zest, Sugarcoat, and all the other students walked into the classroom, then the bell rang. Mr. Bullet was still not in the classroom, like always. After about 5 minutes, Mr. Bullet walked in, along with Principal Cinch. All the students except Sunrise didn’t notice that Cinch walked in, they were all busy talking. Cinch cleared her throat. “Excuse me, students.” She looked around the room and waited until all the students stopped talked, then she began to talk again. “We have a new student joining your class today.” Cinch waved over at the door, and after a few seconds of silence and every student looking at the door, curious of who the student will be...the door opened, and a girl walked into the classroom. She was wearing the normal Crystal Prep uniform: a plaid purple and blue skirt, a white dress shirt with a plum colored long-sleeved vest overtop of it, white knee-high socks, and dress shoes. She had orange skin, and her orange hair with yellow highlights was tied into a ponytail, some strands of her short curly hair hanging down around her face, and she had teal eyes. Sunrise looked at the girl. ‘She looks really familiar…’  he thought to himself. Mr. Bullet walked over to the new girl. “This is Sunset Shimmer, she will be in our classroom now until the end of the year.” he then looked around at the seats, and noticed the empty one next to Sunrise. “Sunset, you can go take that seat beside Sunrise.” ‘Is it really her?’   Sunset sat beside Sunrise, and she avoided all eye contact with him. ‘It has to be him…’ Sunset began to look over at her old childhood friend, but then stopped. ‘No, Sunset! You don’t want him to think you are a creep. He probably doesn’t even remember you…’ She then put her head on her desk, embarrassed. Mr. Bullet began the lesson, Sunrise looking over at Sunset every few minutes, still in disbelief that it might be the old childhood friend he had years ago. Then the bell rang, and everyone left the classroom, Sunrise heading to his locker. But then he saw Sunset stopping at the locker beside his. Sunrise stopped at his locker, and was standing right beside her. He noticed that she was having a problem with her locker. “You need help with that?” Sunrise asked her, looking at her locker. Sunset backed away from her locker. “Yes..” Sunrise looked at the lock on her locker. “What’s your combination?” Sunset thought for a moment. “5-39-27” He put the combination into her locker, and it opened. “Thank you…” Sunset looked down, then looked back up at Sunrise. “What’s your name?” ‘Dangit, she forgot about me….’   “The name’s Sunrise.” he introduced himself. “And your name is?” “Sunset.” She said. “Hey, I know this may sound weird..but I remember you from a long time ago. We were friends when we were little….do you remember me?” “Yes, I do.” Sunrise laughed and scratched the back of his neck nervously. “I thought you didn’t, so I didn’t bring it up. What class do you have next?” “English with Mrs. Rose.” Sunset stated while looking at her schedule. “I have that class, too!” Sunrise said excitedly. Then the bell rang. “The class that we are now late for…” Sunrise said, disappointed. “We have to go to Cinch’s office to get a late slip. Mrs. Rose won’t let us in the class if we don’t have one.” Sunrise began to walk towards Cinch’s office. “Follow me, I’ll show you where Cinch’s office is.” “Snow is going to be sooo mad at me…” Sunset sighed. “Snow? You mean Snow Bullet….as in..Mr. Bullet?” Sunrise asked. “Yeah..he’s my uncle…” Sunset stated. “I’m living with him until my dad moves out here.” “Oh, cool.” Sunrise said. “But where did you live before you moved here, if you don’t mind me asking?” “Manehatten.” Sunset answered sadly. “The girls were so snobby and rude there. I hated it so much. I didn’t make any friends. I just mostly stayed to myself, and read.” “Oh, wow…” Sunrise looked at Sunet sympathetically. “I’m sorry to hear that.” Sunrise stopped at a big light purple door, and opened it. The chair was turned around the other way, and Principal Cinch was sitting down in it. “Ms. Shimmer and Mr. Light, what are you two doing in my office when the two of you are supposed to be in class?” She didn’t even bother turning around. “I’m sorry, Cin- I mean Principal Cinch. We were late to class. Sunset had trouble getting her locker ope-” “Dean Cadence, please get me my detention slips.” Cinch interrupted. Cadence appeared from another room with the detention slips and gave them to Cinch. She grabbed a pen and wrote on two slips. She handed one slip to Sunrise and the other to Sunset. They both left her office. “Snow is going to be so mad at me…” Sunset shook her head. “Don’t worry. If he finds out, I’ll tell him it’s my fault.” Sunrise reassured her. They both began to walk to Mrs. Rose’s class, until they heard someone walking fast behind them. “SUNSET, WHAT DID YOU DO?!?!?!?” Mr. Bullet was walking fast behind the two. Sunset facepalmed. “Mr. Bullet, it was my fault, don’t be mad at her…” Sunrise stated. “Sunset….Cinch told me you were late to class and got detention. Your dad is not going to be happy about this.” Mr. Bullet told her. “I don’t want to make your dad mad. Now get to your class, we will talk about this later.” “Okay Snow, see ya later.” Sunset started to walk away, following Sunrise to her next class. Sunrise stopped at a pink crystal-like door, and peeked through the window. Mrs. Rose was teaching the class, but Sunrise knocked on the door, and after a minute, she opened the door. “Oh, you must be the new student.” She pointed to Sunset. “You’re Sunset Shimmer, right?” “Yup, that’s me...sorry we’re late. I couldn’t get my locker open, and Sunrise helped me get it open.” She handed Mrs. Rose the detention slips. “It’s okay.” Mrs. Rose looked at Sunrise. “Thank you for helping Sunset with her locker, you can go sit down at your desk.” “It’s no problem, Mrs. Rose.” Sunrise said as he sat down at his desk. Sunset and Mrs. Rose walked into the classroom, and Sunset stood beside Mrs. Rose in the front of the classroom. “Alright students, we have a new stu-” Then the bell rang.
