Midnight Sparkle returns and is now in Equestria. What will Twilight and her friends do without the elements of harmony?
It´s a normal day in Ponyville until chaos strike all over Equestria and the responsible for these occurrences is Midnight Sparkle. Without the elements of harmony stopping her seems impossible. However Twilight may have found a way to stop her. But with these new elements spread out across the land and Midnight´s powers causing trouble and old foes returning, will they be able to find them?
This is my first story so hope you like it and tell me what I can do to improve
It´s a story with references to Digimon Adventure and Dragon Ball Xenoverse
Episode: "The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows", did not occur on this timeline so Cadence isn't pregnant.
I´t was a normal day in Ponyville and everypony was enjoying their own personal activities, which was odd given the town they lived in.
Twilight was actually enjoying the peace and quiet that didn´t come too often since she moved to her new home. Just the other day she had to stop a time crisis from the pony that was now having a reading session with her. Best of all she didn´t have to worry about Discord causing trouble because after he played Celestia a heavy prank the princess used a spell to stop him from using magic for an entire week, which had allowed her to spend some time with Starlight Glimmer, which was good since she wanted Starlight to learn as much about friendship as possible since just like her Starlight ignored friendship for years (even though it was due to different reasons) so she wasn´t handling her new life so easily.
Both ponies were enjoying their respective books while the tune of Ravel´s Bolero played on the phonograph. As for Spike he was on his room reading his comics. Twi and Star had learned that they had quite some similar tastes when it came to literature so naturally, Starlight saw Twilight as her closest friend and always enjoyed their little reading sessions. She was indeed showing progress, just the other day she suggested that they invite other ponies so they could have a book club, however Twilight told her that she had already tried to make one but the only pony in town that was interested in the idea was Rainbow Dash after the pegasus became the number one fan of Daring Do.
Suddenly the sound of thunder came from outside the castle. Twilight said, "Seems like it´s going to rain. I better go pick up my order of cupcakes at Sugar-cube Corner before it does. Care to join me?" "Of course. Shall I tell Spike so he can come with us?" "Actually the cupcakes are for him so I´d prefer if he didn´t know. In any case he seems to be enjoying his new issues of Power Ponies" "I guess it´s just the two of us then."
As they walked through Ponyville everypony was saying hello to their newest resident. It was amazing how quickly the residents of this town adapted to a new resident, after all, it had only been one month since Starlight was reformed and started living along with the princess on the castle. Probably due to the fact that they lived in the same town of the Princess of Friendship and the former wielders of the Elements of Harmony.
In any case the most stressful thing she had to do in this past month was meet the human version of herself, which had been in her opinion the weirdest and most awkward thing she had ever done, especially after hearing the story of what happened when they met that other Twilight. She had a hard time believing that story however she had experienced stuff way more unbelievable and she herself could not help but be reminded of the time she used an attraction spell on her Smarty Pants doll in order to hand in a friendship report. In fact, she would have tampered with dark magic if her teacher hadn´t shown her the consequences of doing so, and she was quite aware of that fact. In the end she and her counterpart weren´t so different.
When they arrived at Sugar-cube Corner they met up with Pinkie at the cash-register. "Hi girls, I´m guessing you came here to pick up the ruby cupcakes for Spiky-wikey." "Yes please," replied Twilight. "Oky Doky Loky." Saying that she turned to the other pony. "So, Starlight, how have you been getting along here in Ponyville?" "Very well, no matter were I look, everypony is so nice. I really was wrong bout special talents getting in the way of true friendship." "Don´t feel bad. Your hart was in the right place. You didn´t want anypony to feel bad about their talents or the talents of others." "Thanks Pinkie, I really needed to hear that." "No need to thank me, you should thank Twilight, she was the one that allowed you to stay here in Ponyville and in her castle no less just so you could learn about friendship. In any case here are the cupcakes." "Thanks Pinkie, how much do I owe you?" "That´ll be fifty bits please."
Twilight paid for the cupcakes and she and Starlight were about to leave Sugar-cube Corner when the alicorn noticed the drops of water falling from the sky. "Ugh. I was hoping we could get to castle before it started raining." "Um, Twilight, I don´t think that´s rain." "Uh. Why?" "Look, the clouds are all pink and spiky, the pegasi are trying to remove them but are constantly getting shocked by the clouds, and above all the water seems to be actually chocolate milk rain."
Twilight looked up and sure enough all of what Starlight described was true. She could not help but think of Discord since the last time the clouds were made of cotton-candy and showering everypony with chocolate milk was the first time she and the girls faced him, and the clouds became spiky was when Discord´s plunderseeds grew and attacked the Tree of Harmony making the Everfree forest invade. But how could he; not only was he reformed but he was constantly been watched by her friends, not to mention his magic was currently nullified by Princess Celestia´s spell.
"Oh, no. Looks like vacation is over." "Yippee. It´s raining chocolate milk again." "(Sigh) Well, here we go again"
The two unicorns ran down the road as the pink earth pony skipped behind them drinking the treat that was falling from the sky. "Is she ever serious?" "Only time I have seen her acting seriously she didn't have her cutie mark." "I take it that's a no."
Not before long, the three ponies reached the castle. Once inside the clearly heard an argument going on between the ponies they had already expected to be there. "Admit it, Discord. You're the one causing this," accused Rainbow Dash. "In case you have forgotten, my magic is sealed by Princess Majesty, so I can't use magic for another three days. Tell me, how am I doing this?" "I don't know, but I do know you're doing it. Come on girls, tell this troublemaker what you think."
The three ponies Rainbow Dash was talking to all looked at each other. They did not agree with their friend and they weren't sure what to say. Getting impatient Rainbow asked "So?" Rarity looked at her friend and replied, "I'm sorry darling, but we don't see how Discord could be doing this. After all, not only hes he been reformed, but he's under the princess spell. And that's not something one can just undo."
The blue pegasus didn't believe for one bit that the draconequues was innocent, when she saw the purple alicorn she headed towards her hoping one of her friends sided with her, "Come on Twilight, tell them I'm right, that t has to be Discord doing this to the sky."
Twilight took a look at Rainbow and her friends, hesitant to answer. She knew that Rainbow was right about Discord being the one behind the magic that caused the same sky alterations that were happening right now on former occasions. But as of late, she had many reasons to believe that Discord was innocent, "I'm sorry Rainbow Dash, but I think we should at least give him the benefit of the doubt." "WHAT! You too?" Before anypony could say anything they herd Spike, "Help!"
When the seven ponies went to see what happened they saw Spike half carrying, half dragging a very injured and passed out Zecora. "She said she was attacked by the the creatures of the Everfree forest." Twilight quickly examined her zebra friend. "It doesn't look too serious, but she needs help. Spike, go to the hospital so one of the doctors can come and help her." As soon as she finished her sentence the little dragon was out the door. "We need to find out what's the cause of this. Any ideas?"
Rainbow Dash thought for a bit and said, "Well Cloudsdale was scheduled to pass over town in a few days so it shouldn't be far. Maybe we could ask for help." "That sounds like a good idea," replied Starlight, "If we get help from Cloudsdale then maybe..."
Starlight was interrupted by two pegasi entering the castle. Rainbow Dash instantly recognized them as the two members of the Wonderbolts that she personally knew quite well. "Soarin! Spitfire! What are you doing here?" Catching her breath, Spitfire answered, "We came here because we need to talk to the princess." Confused, Twilight asked, "In what may I help you?" Soarin did his best to explain the situation. "Well.. We kinda had to evacuate the entire Equestria sky." "What?! Why?" "Well the weather you're having... It's, kinda... All over Equestria" "WHAT!?!"
After hearing this, Rainbow Dash insisted on Discord being the one responsible for all the chaos. "Come on. Tell me again I'm wrong. You can't right, because Discord is the only one powerful enough to pull this off." Twilight just shot an angry look in Rainbow's direction telling her to shut up and turned back to listening to the two Wonderbolts. "Proceed."
Spitfire explained what she could. "All of the sky went crazy. Wonderbolt facilities, Flight Academy, even Cloudsdale. In all of Equestria the clouds changed and in Cloudsdale all the factories stopped working. An hour before this all started a serpentine figure of deep purple had been sighted on various locations."
"A serpentine creature. Come on, now you cant tell me it's not Discord." Rainbow Dash insisted once again. "Excuse me, but I'm not purple." "Well I've seen you turn blue before, and you turned me and AJ blue as well, so color isn't really an issue." "RAINBOW DASH!" Twilight was getting impatient with the blue pegasus.
"Ahem. Captain, I'd like you to gather your team here at the castle. We might need your help at solving this problem." "Sure thing princess. We'll be right on it."
As Spitfire and Soarin were leaving Spike was returning along with a unicorn that had a cream caramel coat, caramel brown mane and tail, and an electrocardiograph monitor for a cutie mark. Twilight was relieved that the doctor had gotten here quickly, after all, Zecora needed help. "Doctor.Thank Celestia you're here"
About an hour later, when the doctor had already patched up Zecora and left, Twilight entered the room in which the zebra was resting. "Hi Zecora. How are you doing?" Zecora looked up, still tired from the attacks of the many monsters she had received earlier. "Twilight Sparkle. Sorry to have troubled you." Twilight couldn't help but looked concerned. "It's no worry. But I need you to tell me what exactly happened." "Well, all I can say for sure is that all of a sudden the animals and creatures all suddenly looked in the direction of the old castle and then, they all started to flee, as if there was something scaring them, causing them to flee and become aggressive." "I see. Well, at least it's something. I know you're tired and injured, but we may need your help on this matter later on." Zecora just nodded as Twilight left the room.
When Twilight got back to the others they couldn't help but ask how Zecora was doing to which Twilight could only answer, "Well, her physical condition is fine, as for the situation on the forest is without a doubt bad from what she told me." "What makes you say that, sugarcube." Applejack replied. "She wasn't speaking in rhymes."
Everypony except Starlight was left with their mouths wide open. "What? What's so strange about that?" Twilight quickly answered her question, "Since you haven't really met Zecora you obviously don't know, but she always speaks in rhyme." Starlight's eyes were left wide open as she simply answered, "Then this must be really bad."
Before anypony could say anything Spike let out a flame materializing a letter from Princess Celestia. "A letter from the princess. Must be about the weird weather." Spike read the letter looking quite shocked. "I don't think that's the case." Twilight seemed confused. "Then what is it about?" Sipike looked at the letter worried and said, "I can tell you, but you wont like it." Twilight just gave a look telling spike to go on. "It seem the entire Crystal Empire has had to be evacuated."
With that said Twilight's eye just twitched and she fainted.
Twilight and her friends were on a train to Canterlot along with Zecora and the Wonderbolts. "Okay. Lets go over the situation one more time." Twilight was hysterical due to the chaos spreading through the land and reviewing the situation over and over which had started to annoy the others. "The entire sky is under chaos, the Everfree Forest has gone violent, and the Crystal Empire was evacuated due to the fact that Chrysalis and Sombra both returned."
"There's one thing I don't understand," said Rainbow Dash, "how come Cadence and Shining didn't stop them like last time using their love magic or the crystal heart." "Well," Spike answered, "apparently they did try. At least that's what the letter said." "Actually," Twilight said, "those attempts did work on the changeling drones but not on the other two. They were different somehow, stronger, and they had a deep purple color."
Starlight thought for a bit at that statement. "Hey. Spitfire, was it, didn't you say that a they saw a creature of that same color back at Cloudsdale?" "Yea, I did. And I don't think that's a coincidence."
When the group arrived on Canterlot there were six guards there at the station, two of each race, who escorted them to the palace. When the group got there it was no surprise that the three alicorn princesses and Shining Armor were there to greet them. "Guards. Thank you for escorting Princess Twilight and her companions." After dismissing the guards Celestia turned to the group. "Let's continue this conversation inside." After that they headed towards the throne room.
"The group you brought along is a bit bigger than what we expected Twilight." "I'm sorry Celestia but we might need their help." Luna was curious as to why would that be so. "Please Twilight, do tell what has lead you that conclusion, we would very much like to know." "Well you may not have noticed since it's not happening here in Canterlot, but all over the land, the sky has gone crazy. At a level where the pegasi cannot control it, so the entire Equestria sky was evacuated." "Wait, Twilight," Cadence interrupted, "your brother and I evacuated the entire Crystal Empire, sure. But evacuating the entire sky. That's a whole different situation." "Not to mention," Shining continued, "the situation must be on a drastic level in order for that to be approved by the royal guards situated on the weather factory." Soarin took a step forward to answer. "We couldn't control Cloudsdale. CLOUDSDALE!"
Celestia was amazed at the fact that the situation was so bad. "Well..." "Sorry princess. I hate to interrupt ya. But there's still more should tell ya." Said Applejack. Luna looked at the farmer pony amazed that there could be even more to the situation.
"Twilie, sis. Is that true. I mean, how much worse could the situation be?" "Much worse considering that the Everfree Forest has gone wild." Replied Twilight. Cadence looked confused, that was rather unspecific for Twilight. "Wild in what way? After all it's already plenty wild." "It seems all the animals and creatures in there have become extremely violent and they seem to be afraid of the castle."
"Sister, it would seem that your former student has provided more information on the current situation." "Indeed Luna. And apparently it is much worse that what we originally thought."
After all the statements had been told Rarity spoke, "I'm truly sorry to interrupt princesses but please, do pray tell, what do you think could be causing all of this." "Not what but who, you sorry excuse for a fashionista."
Rarity couldn't help but gasp at the frase. "Twilight how rude. Why would you ever say something like, that." "I didn't, it was my voice but it wasn't me." Fluttershy then said, "I'm sure it wasn't Twilight, but it did seem to be her voice." "But if it wasn't Twilight, then, who was it?"
After that a loud thunder was heard in the room and a strong imposing voice that sounded very much, no exactly like Twilight's said "ME"
Everypony turned to see the one the voice belonged to and they all saw a being they couldn't recognize except for Twilight. It was of a species she had seen quite a few times and many of the race. It was a human. But it wasn't just any human, she recognized it for her own reflection from across the mirror, however the one present was without a doubt some form of demon. "Midnight Sparkle. What are you doing here? And how are you even here?!" Cadence looked to her sister-in-law, she obviously knew who this was. "You know her?" "No, but Sunset Shimmer told me about her. The me from the alternate world was consumed by magic fueled by the hatred of her companions and her personal fear and became her. Sunset used the magic of the elements of harmony that was in the other world to defeat her and save the other Twilight."
Midnight just looked down on Twilight and gave a short laugh before answering, "I may have been defeated but my magical energy remained. However I couldn't create a physical body so I just absorbed all the residual magic left in that school, as well as some magic that belonged to three girls, but they couldn't use it and it didn't affect them so no harm to them." Twilight knew those three girls must have been the sirens but she didn't say anything, she just keep listening. "However, even with all that magic I still couldn't create a physical body for me. And then the portal to equestrian that had been closed reopened when you went through it. And so I traveled to this land and just by coming through the portal my magic increased and I was able to create a physical body and that body connected to you princess Twilight so my magic increased even more."
Rainbow Dash flew decided she had herd enough talk so she flew up to her and told her, "So? We have four alicorns on our side and the power of the elements of harmony so you can't beat us. No matter what you're trying to do!"
Midnight just grabbed Rainbow with her magic and tossed her aside. "It's rude to interrupt someone when they're talking. And before you say anything else you Wonderbolt wanna be, I know all that perfectly. When I created my physical body it based itself on your friend, so everything she knows I know. Besides, you didn't think I came here unprepared did you?" After that she pulled out a gold staff with three upside down crystal triangles making a larger crystal triangle. "You see, with my magic, I was able to find this. This staff not only does it boost my magic but it increases my knowledge just by being in the presence of it. For example just by being in this room I'm obtaining all the knowledge you ponies have, this staff is making copies of everything you know in my brain and at the same time it's like I'm reading and memorizing to perfection all of the books in Canterlot. Soon all the knowledge in Equestria will be mine and I will rule this land."
"Do you think we shall let you do as you please you fiendish being." Luna stepped to the front of the group, "You can not win no matter the artifacts you hold, you may as well stop all this and give up." Midnight just smirked and answered, "If you can really stop me, then try."
Luna attacked using her magic but Midnight jus put up a shield and deflected the shot.
The princess of the night stood in awe as she saw her spell had been deflected. "H-how...? No one should be able to deflect alicorn magic without effort, yet you treated it like it was child's play." "I told you, you can't beat me."
Celestia knew this enemy was strong but she could probably be overpowered if they all stood together, how ever there was more she wasn't telling them. "Enough of your taunting. How are you behind the attacks on the Crystal Empire and Cloudsdale?" Midnight stared the ruler in the eye and smiled. "A simple spell really. I needed someone to keep you busy while I absorbed the knowledge of the land. So I used an ancient spell created by the necromancer Demigra to create stronger copies of the most dangerous threats this land has ever known." And with a wave of her staff appeared five images. They saw indeed the greatest threats to Equestria; Nightmare Moon, Discord, Queen Crysalis, King Sombra and Tirek. They all some how looked crueler and their bodies had all changed to a deep purple color as well as having their eyes red with dark purple stripes under them. They saw Nightmare Moon reconstructing the castle of the two sisters and use her magic to bring the night and as they looked out the window it had indeed become night, as for the evil Discord he was in Cloudsdale so that kind of proofed Rainbow Dash right, Crysalis had made the Crystal Empire hers, meanwhile Sombra was in the crystal mountains in the Frozen North and he had created a dark crystal castle and Tirek was in the Firelands just past the Fire Swamps.
"You're a monster" "I'm no monster, I'm your sister"
Starlight was terrified at the situation. Had the princess, her new mentor, really faced all of this. She now fully understood why her friendship was so important to Equestria. "Why are you doing this?" "Because knowledge is power. And soon I will be the most powerful being EVER! In any case I already got what I wanted from here. And good luck in stopping me. But face it; the power of the four alicorns is not enough to stop me and you don't know how to summon the power of the elements anymore so you might as well give up and accept the fact that I will rule Equestria." With that she teleported and left.
Everypony just stood in awe until Cadence broke the silence, "How are we ever going to beat such a powerful foe?"
The princes of the sun maintained a stern look to Midnight's revelation. "She is right, we can not stop her with any of the methods we have used to stop threats so far. And with that staff she will be extremely hard to defeat."
Of course the fact that Celestia pointed out the staff meant there was more to that item than they knew. "Excuse me princess," asked Rarity, "but why is that staff so important." "Because" answered Celestia without hesitation, "that is the staff of the three great powers. Commonly referred to as 'the staff of Hyrule'"
Everypony except Zecora gasped. The zebra did not know what the princess referred to. "If I may be so bold to inquire, what kind of item has our foe acquired?" Twilight turned to Zecora to answer her question, "Of course, you wouldn't know since you're from a foreign land. The story of that staff dates back to the founding of Equestria. "With the windigos gone and local states established a council was called and it was decided that if the current leaders remained on power the threat might return so they decided that the three ponies that light up the fire of friendship become the new leaders. And so the new leaders became Chancellor Smart Cookie, Queen Clover and Commander Pansy. "A few years after that, in the Canterlot mines, a gem was found. It was a powerful gem that contained great power. The leaders decided that if the gem should fall in the hands of one pony it would corrupt him and bring about trouble for the land, but since the gem could provide protection for Equestria, should it ever need it, they would keep the gem, but it would be divided in to three parts. One for each leader. "The gem was power by the three powers that maintained balance on ponies: power, wisdom and courage. When the gem was divided in to three parts each leader was given a fragment power by one of the three powers. The fragment of power was given to the earth pony tribe, the fragment of wisdom was received by the unicorn tribe and finally the pegasi obtained the fragment of courage. All fragments were held by the leaders and were passed down from leader to leader. "Finally came the time of the firs alicorn a pony named Faust. The leaders decided she would rule along side them. However, not long after the firs great threat appeared. "On the city of Tambelon a goat named Grogar proclaimed himself Emperor. Since he used the forbidden magic of necromancy nopony could oppose him, so the three leaders use the power of the gem to fight him. But in the end they were defeated. "Faust, then, took the fragments and reunited them on the staff and she Grogar had a mighty battle on the Hyrule fields and this time it was Grogar who fell. He was destroyed and Faust made sure nopony could ever have access to the type of magic her enemy used. "And so, the first great threat was defeated. But Faust knew the choice the three leaders had made long ago, so she hid the staff on an unknown location."
"I see so that's why that staff is so important. But what happened to Faust? Surely she knew the location of the staff." This time Luna was the one to speak. "Years passed and she ruled the land on her own until two filies ascended and became alicorns, me and my sister. She took us under her wings and we became her apprentices so we may one day rule along side her. But destiny had other plans. "Discord rose to power using his chaotic magic and defeated our teacher. She was put on a medical wing for recovery, but she wanted to get the staff. She refused to tell us where it was so she escaped the medical wing and went for the staff, but her injuries we too severe and her body could not take it. She died trying to get the staff without ever telling anypony of it's location. "Thus my sister and I were forced to find another solution, and I suppose you know the rest."
With the story concluded Celestia spoke. "Now, we must find a solution to this crisis before it gets any worse."
Everypony tried to come up with a solution but nopony seemed to be able to come up with one until Twilight had an idea. "There might be a way for us to stop Midnight Sparkle. I remember reading about something that might be helpful." "But, Twilight," Cadence interrupted, "wouldn't Midnight know about that already." "I think she does but nevertheless it's a solution. Listen I'll go back to Ponyville so I can bring Sunset Shimmer, since she already fought against Midnight she might be able to help. As for all of you meet up with me at my old tower."
HUMAN WORLD A FEW MINUTES LATER
Sunset was at a café with the human counterparts of the mane 6 relaxing and discussing academic aspects. "Uhg, these exams are such a drag" "Well, maybe I can help you study Rainbow Dash. I'm always willing to help someone who wants to learn." "Thanks Twi, but I'm not sure I can adapt to your study methods." "Oh"
Sunset just gave a light smile and comforted the poor girl. "Don't worry Twilight, we all have different study methods. I once organized a group study session and it was a mess." "OK. Hey Sunset your bag is glowing"
Sunset reached for her bag. The book to contact Equestria was indicating somepony had wrote to her. "Must be the princess. I wonder what she has to say this time?" "Princess?" "I guess we never really told you sugar-cube but that alternate counterpart of you y'a met is a princess in the other world and Sunset is kind'a her student." "Wow, you're the personal student of actual royalty. you really are amazing" "It's nothing really"
Sunset opened the book only to find that there was an emergency back home and they needed her help.
Sunset I'm sorry to interrupt whatever you're doing but Midnight Sparkle has somehow appeared here in Equestria and we need your help. Your friend and teacher Twilight Sparkle
She just stared at the book hoping this was some sort of prank but nothing. "Is something wrong darling." "There's an emergency back home in Equestria and they need my help, I need to get to the portal as fast as posible."
While Twilight was heading towards her castle the rest of the group went to her old tower in Canterlot. Once there Spike knocked on the door. "Who is it?" "Moon Dancer, it's me Spike." The aforementioned unicorn made haste in opening the door. "Spike! Thank Celestia yoouuu..." Moon Dancer was shocked at the large party that Spike had brought along with him. "Moon Dancer, who is it?" Spike looked to see who was the one talking. "Minuette? What are you doing here?" Before anypony could say another word Moon Dancer spoke. "We better get inside. We can ask and answer questions later."
The entire group entered the tower and inside there were also two other unicorns, Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts who were just as surprised as Moon Dancer about the group that had just arrived. "So..." Spike began, "what are you all doing here?" Moon Dancer was the one to answer. "We were all having a picnic in the nearby park when all this madness started. Luckily Twilight's old tower was near so I brought the girls here." "Princess, what is going on?" Minuette asked. Princess Celestia told the four ponies what the situation was. "An evil version of princess Twilight has appeared, and she is very powerful, not to mention she has the staff of Hyrule. With this power she has created clones of Equestria's most dangerous threats; Nightmare Moon, Discord, Crysalis, Sombra and Tirek and they are causing havoc all over the land." Pinkie jumped in front of the princess to speak herself. "We came here because Twilight said she had a book which had some sort of solution to our problems." Minuette searched the group but couldn't see Twilight. "And where is she?" Starlight was the one to answer that question. "She went to get somepony named Sunset Shimmer, we might need that pony's help." She then turned to the group she had came with. "Who is this Sunset Shimmer anyway." To everypony's surprise the one who answered was Moon Dancer. "She's Twilight's student." Every turned to see Moon Dancer as if she had just said something strange. "What? We've been writing each other for weeks now." "But... I'm Twilight's student." It was then Spike realized that they never told Starlight about Sunset. "Uhm... you see, Twilight has another student. Sunset was formerly a student of princess Celestia until something similar to your case happened." "I see."
After that there was a knock on the door, with the situation at hoof Moon Dancer hurried to open the door and outside was her friend Twilight and an amber colored unicorn. "Come in." "It's good to see you again Moon Dancer, although I wish it was on a different situation." "*sigh* Mee too"
The two soon joined the rest of the group, but the one that was most glad about their arrival was Celestia. She had not seen Sunset Shimmer in a very long time. Once her two former students entered the room the monarch crossed looks with the pony that once left through the mirror. "It has been far too long Sunset Shimmer." Sunset diverted her look from her former teacher. "Indeed." She then looked back to the alicorn she once called her mentor. "I wish our reunion was on other circumstances." "So do I, but for now we should focus on the task at hand."
"Moon Dancer, have you reorganized the books since I gave you the key to the tower?" "Yea. But just tell me what book you're looking for." "It's called 'The Magic Of The Cosmos.'" Moon Dancer nodded and used her magic to get the book from one of the shelves and hands it to Twilight. She then places the book on the lectern and opens it where the information she needed was located. "Here it is. 'The Emblems of Peace.'" How ever all she got was a bunch of confused looks. "They are very powerful items that if we unlock their magic we could save Equestria from Midnight Sparkle. Just one of these should be as strong as the Elements of Harmony."
Discord just laughed at that final statement. "Now, come on Sparkle, if those things were real and had that kind of power some would have already used them to solve one of the many crisis that have taken over." "Maybe. If they were easy to find that is." That final frase stopped the mocking from the lord of chaos. "These emblems, unlike the elements, are spread out across the entire land and each of them is no bigger than a stamp." Rainbow Dash couldn't believe Twilight had such a complicated plan. "Come on Twilight. If it's really that hard then how are we going to find them?" "I told you, Midnight knows about them and she's just give us their locations. Please all of you listen to me. These are the Emblems of Peace." She then showed the group the image the book had of the emblems.
"Nothing is random about them not even the color and the way to unlock their magic basically the same as with the elements, embodying the characteristic each of them represent. To find them we must travel to the locations the riddles give and find a carving of the shape of the emblem. We will know its the emblem because, even if they can be put in ink, any carving of them will instantly disappear." She then demonstrated that face by carving one of the emblems into the floor and just like she said it disappeared, it was like she had never carved it. "The Emblems of Peace are the following: "First is the emblem of Courage. It's an orange sun due to the fact that the sun is often related to power and strength and orange is the color of courage. "Second is the emblem of Friendship. Its blue simbol represents the bond between ponies and relates to the moon like the previous one relates to the sun. "Third is the emblem of Love. A red heart with one half showing purity which I guess is self explanatory. "The purple one is the emblem of Knowledge. It's supposed to represent the brain but I'm not sure how "As for the green one it's the emblem of Purity and Innocence. It's a seed shaped like a tear. "The white cross is the emblem of Sincerity. "Then there are two pink ones. The first is the emblem of Light represented by a radiance of life; the glow that guides those who have fallen to the darkness. "The other one is the emblem of Kindness shown by the flower that grows from the seed of darkness. "The three final ones are made of bronze, silver and gold. The bronze one is the emblem of Hope showing a sun shining the ray of the light of hope. "Next is the silver emblem of Destiny. "And finally the golden 'M' with four arrows surrounding it is the emblem of Miracles. "These are the eleven Emblems of Peace."
The first one to answer was Sunset. "OK... but how are going to find them." "As I said, there are riddles telling their location: "The emblem of courage shall be found where the fire is the earth." Applejack was the one to realize what it meant. "The fire swamps, where Tirek is." "The emblem of friendship resides in the domain of those with wings." This time it was Rainbow Dash who answered. "The sky. Cloudsdale. Discord." "The emblem of love is on the home of those who roar fire." Easy one for spike. "The Dragonlands." "The emblem of knowledge resides on the land where all is crystal." Shining Armor knew the place. "The Crystal Empire." "The emblem of purity and innocence is found in the forest that magic can not touch." Luna had the answer to that one. "The Everfree Forest." "The emblem of sincerity dwells where the rule of ice is supreme." Celestia could easily answer it. "The Frozen North." "The three elemental emblems live with the creatures moved by the wind." There was no way Fluttershy didn't know the answer to that one. "The land of the breezies." "And the other two dwell in the nightmare place where darkness is eternal." The final pony to give an answer was Cadence. "Tartarus."
With that they now had the location of all of the eleven emblems and understood what Twilight meant when she said Midnight might know of the emblems and their location. Now one question remained and Sunset was the one to ask it. "How are we ever going to be able to get the emblems?"
"We have to split up!" All eyes turned to Twilight who was the one to bring up the idea. "You all herd me; we have to split up in order to get the emblems." After hearing such statement Rainbow Dash just began to laugh. "Good one Twi. Seriously though, how are we going to get them?" "I was being serious Rainbow Dash. There is no other way we're going to be able to get them before Midnight takes over." "No offence sugar-cube but how do ya reckon we're gonna do that. We barely beat these troublemakers the first time around, and there were six of us and we had the elements, how in Equestria are goin to if we split up?" "We don't have to defeat those monsters, we just need to find the emblems. Now listen, I've thought about what would be the best way to split up so I have to ask; are you all up for it?"
The group just exchanged looks and then Celestia answered Twilight's question, "I think, I speak for all of us when I say that we are all up for the task. Just tell us were we should each head and we will go." Twilight was about to say something before she was interrupted. "WAIT!" This time eyes fell on Moon Dancer. "Twilight, before you say anything, I want you to know that I want to help, so please put me on a group or individual location, anything. I just want to help." Her three friend behind then stood up decisively and Minuette step forward. "We want to help too. Twilight we're your friend and citizens of Equestria, so we want to help in any way posible. But most importantly, because we're your friends." With that said, Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts just nodded in agreement.
The speech her friends had given made Twilight release a tear of happiness and a little sigh after. "OK guys, but remember, this will be dangerous." Her friends answered with a nod of determination. "Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and the Wonderbolts will search the sky for the emblem of Friendship. Princess Celestia you must find a way to enter the land of the breezies and get the three emblems in there. Spike, Discord you go to the Dragonlands and find the emblem of Love. Cadence and Shining since you know the Crystal Empire better than any pony here, you should take care of the emblem of Knowledge. As for Moon Dancer, Starlight, Sunset and me, we will head to the frozen north and get the emblem of Honesty. Applejack, Pinkie, I want you take the fire swamps, if you take your families you are sure to find the emblem of Courage. And finally Luna, Rarity, Zecora, Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts, you guys head to the Everfree forest and get the one of Purity/Innocence. "Tartarus is too dangerous so we will meet up at the entrance and enter once we are all there"
The group had already split up and they were all getting ready to retrieve their respective emblems. Rainbow's group set off immediately to search the skies. Princess Celestia was in the Royal Canterlot Library searching for spells to complete her task. Discord used his magic to teleport Spike and himself to the dragon lands. Applejack and Pinkie Pie had each gone in different directions; Pinkie had taken a train so she could go and get help from her family while Applejack took another train with Luna's group so she could get to Ponyville and get help from hers. Finally Twilight's group had taken the crystal train along with Cadence and Shining Armor and were on their way to the Crystal empire, that way Twilight's group would be closer to the frozen north; Twilight had brought some books from the tower so they could find some spells to defend against their enemies dark magic.
All groups were trying to find the emblems, but just like Twilight said, Midnight was already aware of their existence. She was at the Crystal Empire's library when the groups that had set out to obtain the emblems of Knowledge and Honesty and just like that she became aware of their intensions. "So, you ponies think I can be stopped. Well, it wont be so easy to get your emblems." She then used her magic making her staff glow. "My allies, the ponies that intend to stop us are after something called the Emblems of Peace, I shall send you the images of both the emblems and the ponies. Stop them from getting them, AT ANY COST!" She then used her magic to teleport. She didn't need to stay, she had gotten all the knowledge she could have gotten from the empire. Now with her enhanced magic she didn't have to be in the place to absorb information, she teleported to a place where she could stay put and do the process with the entire land.
