The human that teleported to Equestria has had the time of his life, meeting Twilight and her friends, teaching the land of some of his worlds technology... but what if this was never even supposed to happen?

The seven friends have been through it all. Whether it's Discord or even Changlings to even King Sombra! Nothing can stand between Twilight and her five best pony friends! But to think, none of it could have even been possible if it were't for her best human friend that was there to save the day!

But could it have been done without him?

One day, Twilight and Spike just appear randomly in the meeting room of her castle, and she's been acting different. Not only did she not recognize him, but she started even blathering on about time travel for some reason and even went on to say that they did all those feats without ever knowing him...

I Was Destined To Be Here... Right?

Another beautiful day to wake up to. The biggest smile on my face appeared as I looked out of the window of my house, the general town of Ponyvile was beautiful, and although it looked better in Canterlot or even Twilights Castle, the view from my home was still enough for me to just feel so happy about living here.

The sun was bright, birds were singing and the populous of Ponyvile were all going on about their day. Today was perfect!

After walking to my closet, I pulled out some modest everyday clothing and prepared to head downstairs into the shop area.
'A Human's Super Convenient Store for Convenience Machines and Items.'
Now I would be the first to admit that the name didn't roll off the tongue, but name aside; the store was successful so far. The mere idea that stuff as common as microwaves and actual TV's didn't properly exist in Equestria was almost mind blowing when I had first appeared here.
To stuff as basic as the original cellular phone to the charger for said cellular phone. I had reinvented it (with some help) and now am making a great living. I've even heard news that some pony off in Manehatten has been taking the Cellular Phone and has been trying to make a new design to make it smaller and more convenient.
The age of technology has now been given a jump start; and it's all thanks to the push that someone like me (nearly) singlehandedly gave.

Exiting the shop, I was greeted by the smiles of all the neighbors and friends I had made while walking down the road through town. I still remember the days of when he was the freak of the town; monster that didn't belong. Heck, if it wasn't for the fact that I had helped lead Cerberus away when he was in this little town, I don't think I ever would have been able to make friends.

"Mornin' Sugarcube" was the phrase that I heard everyday I left the shop. A smile appeared on my face as I looked at Applejack and gave a nice "Good morning!" back. Whenever I had found myself heading either to Sugarcube Corner or Twilights Castle from the house, I would always pass by the Apple Stand.

"Sugarcube, I just don't know how to thank you! That plowing machine that you made is amazing! The family used ta always just plant small amounts of veggies since it was always too time consuming to take the time to plow the land, but now! We can nearly fill an entire a acre in half a day!"
She sure did like that tractor I made.
"And not only that! But I was able to put at least two carts worth of apples on it to just; how ya say, "drive" back!"
"It's just so much easier than walking with such a heavy load. The only thing I need to work on is a better power supply."
I could try magic infused crystals, but that stuff ain't cheap. Perhaps I could figure out if it would be possible to make some gasoline maybe?
"Eh, whatever the case, I think it's perfect the way it is! I'll be sure to give ya a special deal when Cider Season starts back up."
"Thanks Applejack. But I should get moving, I promised to help Twilight with figuring out how to work a cell phone."
I don't really get it honestly, she bought it, wants to use it, but is too scared to mess with it to see how it works.
Just because I told her that story that one time "humans made nuclear bombs" now has her nervous to handle any of the technology I make. It's not like I have some random button on the phone that's gonna blow up all of Equestria!

Although I was mildly frustrated with how I was gonna have to tutor someone on how to use a basic device, I still had an understanding as to why she was like this. After all, it is undeniably my fault.

I roll my eyes at the thought though as I approach the castle entrance to get ready to school one of the smartest ponies in Equestria.

Now that's a feat most people don't get to say.

I enter the meeting room, or throne room if you prefer. As I wait for Twilight to show up. Since I wasn't an Element Of Harmony originally, I never got my own throne, so instead I have a nice wooden chair that kinda sorta looked like the others thrones so I wouldn't be left out.

Admittedly it looked out of place, but all the others insisted on keeping it for me, since they consittered me the official seventh best friend.

I waited and waited... surely she didn't oversleep, right?

A bright flash happened as the map of Equestria began to glow, rings from the map began appearing and floating upward as a upside down pot of some kind suddenly appeared from said rings with Twilight and Spike falling out of it shortly after.

I was both surprised and not surprised at the entrance she made. She always was one for crazy (intensional or otherwise) magic spells that sent her flying when me or the others were around. However, having Spike with her for this spell was definitely new.

"Huh? Did we make it back?" The purple dragon asked as he climbed up from the fall.
"Spike! I think we did it!" Twilight said as she quickly rise to her hooves on the map. "The Sonic Rainboom went off! Equestria is back to normal!"

Taking the time to stand up, I make myself known as I ask them "What exactly happened?".

The excited looks of glee from their faces slowly shrunk to looks of disappointment and fear as their eyes looked over me.
"Did I miss something important?" I say in a half joking tone to try and lighten the mood.
"Umm." Was the first thing to come out of Twilight's mouth as she looked me over. "What exactly are you?" she said in a nervous tone.

I raise an eyebrow at this. "Uh, hello? It's me? Literally your best, and only human best friend? Don't you recognize me?"
She seems to shoot a nervous glance at Spike as she continues looking at me with a worried look.
"What do you think we did wrong?" asked Spike as Twilight begins trotting in circles to think of some sort of answer to the question.
"I-I don't know! We got the Rainboom to take place! Why does that thing happen to exist now?!?"
"What?" I simply say in response. I couldn't help but feel hurt by the fact that Twilight: The Princess of Friendship, called me a thing as if she was looking at an animal or perhaps even a pest. She's one of my best friends! What could be going on?

"Twilight, don't you remember me? We defeated Discord, we stopped Sombra! I even saved your life when the Changlings attacked!" She merely stared in return as seemingly the information was processing in her head. "But I was with the rest of my friends when that happened. And I don't remember needing saving during the Changling Invasion." She seems like she genuinely forgot me.

Suddenly Spike, who was getting frustrated with Twilight spoke up. "Listen Twilight, this isn't going anywhere and I'm starting to think this isn't our time."
'Their time?'
"But what did we do wrong?" Twilight said as she shifted the conversation over to Spike. "What could have changed that supposedly brought that..." she paused as she stared at me some more. "THING, into our lives?"

"I'm sorry for being an unintended third party, but can you two PLEASE tell me what's going on? Because right now I'm extremely confused."

Twilight paused briefly as she looked me over one last time before changing her expression to one of sadness. "I'm sorry about that. But we're not from around here." Spike then jumped into the conversation saying. "She's a princess from another dimension!" he said gesturing his hands around his head like he just did some sort of magic trick.
"Correct, and you're a dragon from another dimension." She said while smiling at Spike.
She turned her attention back to me. " But before we continue on, do you know Starlight Glimmer?"

"Yeah, she tried stealing everyone's cutie marks and I was able to catch her before she escaped into a cave." Twilight and Spike looked at each other surprised. "Where is she now?" Twilight asked.
"I think the Canterlot Dungeons. You were even the one to send her there!"
Twilight's face turned to one of surprise after hearing this. "I put her in a dungeon?" Spike then elbowed her while quietly saying "focus!"

"Ah right! Basically Starlight Glimmer had gotten a time travel spell and, well... she prevented all of my friends, including me from getting our cutie marks."
"But-" Spike said hijacking the conversation. "This time we were able to get Rainbow Dash to perform the Sonic Rainboom!"
"Really?" I said not really taking this seriously.
She looked at me confused in return. "The way Rainbow Dash described it, she said an Alicorn taught her how to do a Sonic Rainboom after being shown a demonstration of how to do one. And the way she described it, the way the Alicorn did it was by flying straight down with both her natural speed and a boost with her magic, she apparently caused a purple spectrum that looked almost like a star to appear and travel across the sky. Are you trying to tell me THAT Alicorn was you?"

"Umm, yeah, that's about right." It seems this Twilight didn't really know how to talk to me, which led to long pauses in the conversation.

"So..." She said dragging out the word. "How exactly did you get here?"
I smile in return. "I walked through the front door." Not expecting this answer, she made a small laugh before continuing.
"I mean, how exactly did you get to Equestria." I was tempted to just tell her the same answer again, but decided to be serious about this. "I guess a magic anomaly happened that caused some sort of rift to appear? I think I remember that's how you described it."

As she was processing the information, she merely responded with nothing but a "hmm". I could however see Spike walking around the room to see if the area was truly different.

"What's that thing in the window?" Spike says while pointing at the air conditioner I had made for the castle.
"It's the good ol' AC. You know, the thing that keeps the castle cooler?"
"Wait, you made that?" Spike said in response. "What else did you make?"
"Oh I made plenty of machines like that. I got a machine called a microwave which quickly cooks food. You should know about the tractor I recently made for AJ, not to mention that cell phone I'm supposed to be teaching you how to use right about now!" I gotta get this back on track; she'll never learn otherwise!

Spike looked puzzled upon me saying this. "I'm supposed to be learning how to use a device you made?"
"Er no." I say realizing that neither Spike or Twilight saw what I was insinuating. "I'm supposed to be teaching Twilight how to use a cell phone." Twilight who was looking at both the map and the surroundings looked at me with a cocked head.
"What exactly do you mean?"
I was starting to get mildly frustrated, how can she just forget?
"Twilight enough with the games, I know you're scared of the devices I make, but that's no reason to prolong this any longer!" I liked Twilight, but my patience was starting to run thin with these games both her and Spike were playing.

"Listen I'm sorry! But I'm serious when I say we don't belong here. This isn't our time, and me and Spike need to go and stop any of these events from happening! Good or otherwise!" What is with this time stuff?
"What do you mean? What's causing you to go back in time? And what exactly was the original time you are trying to get back too?"

She took a deep breath to clear her head. "The original timeline me and Spike are from is one without disaster, and without this technology stuff you have." She had said while levitating a random clock I had placed in the room sometime in the past.
She then flew to the map and levitated Spike onto her back. "Alright let's get ready t-" "Wait Twilight!" Spike had said to interrupt her.
"This dimension is actually nice though, what will happen if we leave and change it again?"

Twilight paused for a second only to quietly say that "she didn't know."

"So you're serious about this time travel thing?" I say a bit slowly to let sink in.
They both gave a nod in return.

"If you leave? Will everyone cease to exist? Or does time work differently?"
"I'm sorry, I don't know, but we can't dwell on it too much because we have no choice but too go back."
She without thinking opened the scroll to have the portal thing open again, and the last second, I could see her mouth move to form the words "I'm sorry." as she left with no traces of her having been here.

This whole thing I had to let sink in, was Twilight always a time traveler? And more importantly, was my universe going to stop existing?

An agitated sigh left my lips as I left the castle and went back to Applejacks stand.
"Back so soon?" I must have had a look on my face since she could see I was upset.
"You okay, Sugarcube?" A look of concern seems to have washed over her face.
"Applejack? Can I ask you something?" She leaned in intently listening to what I was gonna say. "No matter what happens, you'll never forget me?" She seemed more confused then anything.
"Nothing could ever cause me to forget one of my most favorite friends in existence!"
I couldn't help but still not feel comforted at what could potentially happen to me.

"Can you hand me some water please? I think I'll need it." Doing so, Applejack have me a small mug of water in which I took one single gulp of.

Only to watch as the entire world faded to white, my own body began to evaporate as one last thought entered my mind.

"Was I supposed to be here?"
