> Pony Minecraft > by LoveEspeon > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prolouge > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, for Twilight, the thing called 'computer' is entirely new to her. After Sunset Shimmer accidentally threw her computer into the portal and hit Twilight on the head, she has been playing games. But lets forget about Twilight and the MLP universe for a while and dive into the depths of Minecraft. For thousands of UP cycles an evil force has terrorised the servers and brought great destruction upon the pony villagers. Desperate for help, the villagers have created a spell and sent it out to the internet with help from a user's server thread. This spell has been written down by the user himself and has been locked away in Celestia's library without her even realising it. Now the villagers are even more desperate than before, for that force is planning to escape Minecraft and to do so it is constantly capturing the wisest villagers to find out ways to escape. Now, their only hope....is the spell that one user has created. *** He materialised in a cave. The stranger opened his glowing white eyes and galloped into the cavern. The other mobs in the cave all shrunk away from him as he passed. He could feel their fear....good. The stranger then stopped at a pool of boiling hot lava. He smiled. Lava always reminded him of home. Thinking of the beauty of the outside world, his smile turned into a scowl. Casting his glowing eyes across the cavern, he saw what he was looking for; a small hidden button on a wall. This was it. The entrance to Zombie-town was always near lava, or the meeting of lava and water. Using his horn to push the button, the stranger let out a low gutteral wail that echoed into the secret tunnel that had formed. His call was answered by the moans of zombies as they recognised his voice. Then, smiling, he cantered into the tunnel, which closed behind him. Then he burst into a large cave, filled with houses placed randomly in every corner in every angle. Heck, there was one even placed upside down. But the stranger didn't care about the one stupid zombie who built his house like that. He galloped up to the podium in the centre of the village square and shot a big zombie standing on it. The zombie's HP was instantly reduced to zero and he disappeared with a pop. All eyes turned to the stranger. "I have defeated your leader in combat, as it has been done for years. Now I am you leader. You," said the stranger, pointing at a tough looking zombie in the crowd. "Is the new leader pointing to this zombie?" he asked in a nervous tone. "Yes. What is your name?" "This zombie is called Rai-Tin," answered the zombie. "Ra-Tin, you are now one of my generals. Your orders are to attack the NPC villages until they reveal the secret to our escape. After I am freed, only then will I be able to free the creatures of the night!" exclaimed the stranger. The zombies all moaned with excitement. "But how shall we address the new leader? The zombies in this village knows that the new leader is the Maker...shall the new leader be addressed as The Maker?" asked Rai-Tin. "My name...you want to know my real name?" Rai-Tin nodded. The stranger beckoned him up and whispered in his ear in a spine tingling voice:" You can call me as the legends have called me....you can call me Herobrine." > Chapter 1 : The delivery > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Normally, Twilight would be seen in her library, Cutie Map room or study room. Spike always knew where to find her. For a baby dragon in a huge castle with confusing corridors, it was easy to find his alicorn 'mother'. But today, he couldn't find her. He searched everywhere. Twilight would usually tell him when she went out. But what's up now? Spike hoped it wasn't an important thing Celestia had asked Twilight to do. His mind began swirling with every single possibility of where Twilight might be. Could she have gone out with Flash? Went to Pinkie's for a break? Helping Fluttershy to kick Angel into a mud puddle?! She had done it once. That is good karma. Then Spike heard the mailpony knock on the castle door. Suddenly something purple shot over, grabbed him, put him on something soft and furry and ran over to the door. He rolled off Twilight Sparkle's back as she slowed to a stop. Flinging open the doors, she grabbed the mail in her mailbox and dashed inside. Boy was she more hyper than Rainbow Dash after she had drunk too much cider. Spike sauntered over to Twilight. She was busy sorting out a package of books and throwing the letters into her letter box. Spike attempted to help. "Oh, hi Spike. Princess Celestia sent me some books from her old library. Isn't this exciting?!" asked Twilight while looking over the package. Spike rolled his dragon eyes. If there wasn't anything more in the world that Twilight loved, it was books. She had her own library full of books. And Princess Celestia had been sending books to her non-stop. Twilight suddenly squealed. She held up a big square shaped book. "Its a spell book. It has only one page, but I think I can use it on the computer!" she said. Honestly, Spike wasn't very hyped. But at the sound of the word 'computer', he immediately dashed over to Twilight's private quarters. The alicorn laughed and flew up. Twilight was always cheered by Spike's enthusiastic nature. She caught up to Spike and dropped onto her hooves as he practically smashed down the front doors of her study room, as she liked to call it. Inside, there was a big white device that humans call 'computer'. Twilight grinned. "Spike, send a message to my friends to come over as quickly as possible. I'll try and get this game going and then we can test the spell. Oh, and don't forget to call Flash, in case we need some help," instructed Twilight, using her magic to levitate a pen and paper. She handed them to Spike, her horn lighting up the room with a magenta glow. Spike grabbed them gently and began scribbling words on the paper. After he was done, Twilight used a duplication spell (she had learnt it after becoming an alicorn) on it and sent them to her friends. *** "Okay, everypony ready??" Twilight had gathered the gang over to the computer. "I'm going to use a spell on us and hopefully it will work." "Whaddaya mean 'hope'? Ya mean it couldn't work before?" asked Applejack a little skeptically. Twilight shook her head. "No. It's the first time I've actually used this spell actually." Applejack nodded. "Ready?" The ponies all shook their heads. Flash hugged Twilight. "I'll monitor here," he promised. "Thanks." Twilight had her friends stand in a circle around her before she closed her eyes and focused on the spell, her horn illuminating the room with a bright magenta glow. Then, as the light faded, the Mane 6 were gone. > Chapter 2 : The Village > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight groaned and blinked her eyes open. Did it work? Then she sat bolt upright. Everything here was blocks.......where only one game had these graphics. Yes!!! The digitizing spell worked!! Now they could travel across Minecraft!! But a thought struck. What if we die here?? Twilight shivered. She had't thought of that...... "Can somepony tell me why all dem stuffs here are blocks an' cubes??" Twilight whipped her head around to face Applejack. Fluttershy looked at a white blocky bunny. "Ooohhh aren't you just the cutest thing ever??? I mean....even though you're still blocky-looking.." Twilight stood up. Concentrating hard, she imagined she was texting Flash and Spike, forcing her magic to press the keys on the keyboard. Flash...are you there? It worked! Twilight waited for a reply anxiously. Then she heard it; a faint sound drifting across her mind. Twilight? Yes, I'm here. But you look...well....blocky??? I'll be monitoring here for a while until you decide to return, came Flash's voice. Twilight smiled under her breath. I'll be back soon, we're going to explore for a while, then we can go back. Surecame Flash's voice. Twilight stood up and shook her mane. Looking around, she and her friends were in a lush blocky clearing, with poppies and daisies waving and bunnies happily hopping around. Beckoning for her friends to follow, she cantered around, looking for something. "Where are we going?" asked Rainbow Dash, speeding after Twilight from the sky. "Let's find a village. Or at least something to build our house before nightfall," answered Twilight, stretching out her wings and gliding up to Rainbow. "But whyy?!" screamed Pinkie Pie from below. "Why before nightfall? Surely its still safe during that time!!" Twilight shook her head and dove down. She touched the ground and started running. "No, at night all sorts of monsters come out. And my personal favourite is the creeper. But they will try to kill us. So we have to shelter before that happens." Fluttershy suddenly gave a whimper. "What?? But what kind of monsters are there?!" Twilight shuddered. "Zombies...Enderponies...Creepers...Spiders...Skeletons. All sorts....and all are nasty. Enderponies can teleport, Skeletons use their magic to shoot with a bow and arrow and creepers will explode on contact with a user. But they are kind of cute, I have to admit." "Forget about how cute they are! Let's find a village quickly!!" screamed an anxious Rarity. Twilight suddenly stopped. The others nearly crashed into her, with the exception of Rainbow, who was still hovering in the air. "Why the holdup, Twi?" asked Applejack. "You guys gather supplies. You can break them easily with your hooves. Me and Rainbow will find any shelter. Meet back here in 5 minutes," said Twilight. The others nodded. Twilight unfolded her wings and soared into the distance, followed by Rainbow. *** "We found a village!!" screamed Rainbow, breathless from flying. Twilight glided down. "Over there. We'll still make it if we run." The others put their supplies into their inventories and dashed after Rainbow and Twilight. Soon a village loomed in sight, surrounded by watchers and archers on a large fortified wall. The watchers looked suspiciously at the six ponies. "Are you users?" asked one. Twilight and the others nodded. Then another one pointed to Twilight with his hoof. "One of them's an alicorn!!" The watchers' eyes flew open in surprise and opened the gates. Twilight wondered why they looked so...scared. Pushing the thought to the back of her mind, she and her friends slowly trotted in. The gates shut with a soft creak. Then, a large pony stepped out of the shadows. "I am the head of this village. What do you want here, users?" he asked in a gentle voice. "I am Twilight, the Princess of Friendship and these are my companions, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie Pie. We are in need of shelter for we have been sucked into the game by a spell," answered Twilight in her most regal voice, opening out her wings a little. The leader's eyes widened. "You...you're an alicorn. You're an actual princess? And what spell did you use?" he asked. "Yes. I used a digitizing spell that was sent to me by my mentor, Princess Celestia," answered Twilight, feeling awkward. The leader nodded. "You may stay, but come with me. I have to ask you a few questions. Your friends can stay here and make new friends in this village. Your Highness," he said, bowing slightly. Twilight felt her ears flattening. "Just Twilight is fine.."she said sheepishly. *** "So...you came here by using a spell?" Twilight was in the leader's house. He was called Leader for his task. He had explained the villagers here are named for their jobs. For example, watchers would be named Watcher, archers would be called Archer, etc. She nodded. "That spell was the one thing we hoped would bring another user here, to save us from an evil force," explained Leader, swishing his tail thoughtfully. Twilight was intrigued. "Who wrote it?" Leader's eyes flashed with a wistful look. "There was once a user who stopped the mighty evil. If I remember correctly, he was called Starswirl. He wrote down the spell in hopes of other users coming to save this game from the living code that infects it," answered Leader. Twilight was astonished to hear that Starswirl the Bearded had played Minecraft and wrote down the spell. She nodded before yawning quietly. Leader took note of this and gave her an extra hut to sleep in with her friends. "I think we'll stay here for a while," said Twilight. She had explained the conversation between Leader and her. Her friends all agreed. "So, tomorrow we go out, set up our own base and start exploring for clues. If we manage to see the evil, we'll go and fight it. After the evil is stopped, then we can go back home. Any questions?" Twilight's friends shook their heads. One by one they all said their goodnights and went to sleep. Before Twilight went to bed, she felt a sinister presence within. That's weird..she thought. The evil felt familiar....then her eyes flew open. "He's here." > Chapter 3 : Artemis > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning, Twilight woke up early. Quietly trotting over to the door, she gave it a gentle nudge; her magic was depleted in Minecraft. After gently closing the door, she went over to Leader's house. After a brief conversation, Leader allowed Twilight and her friends to leave. "May you stay safe in you travels," he said. "Our village will always be open to you." Twilight nodded gratefully and went over to their hut after saying goodbye to Leader. She opened the door to find her friends packing. "So I see you already knew why I left," she observed with a smirk. Applejack gave a small chuckle. "Ye, we knew you were at dat guy Leader's house, so we got ready while waitin' for ya." Suddenly Twilight noticed something. "Rarity? How'd you get your magic back??" asked Twilight. Rarity simply flicked her mane. "Oh, a kind fellow in this village gave me a tip on how to get magic back. I asked Spikey-Wikey to turn on a witchcraft mod. Try using your magic now!" Twilight focused on levitating a chest and found she could lift it up easily. "Sweeeeeeet!!!!" *** "Ok, everypony ready to go?" asked Twilight after crafting a few backpacks and stuffing them with supplies. The others nodded. They went outside and said goodbye to all the villagers before heading out into the wilderness. They hiked over two mountains until they reached a flat piece of area. There they began building their shelter; a big house surrounded by a strong wall able to hold up 20 creeper explosions complete with walkways which anypony could use to shoot any mobs. They spent the whole day builing that and by the time night fell, Twilight pushed everypony in and closed the gates with a bang. "That was tough work," she admitted, heading up to her room. "Goodnight everypony." They all went to sleep, unaware that a sinister being was watching them with an eerie smile on his face. In the dark of the night, that creature teleported inside the house and went into the rooms. Trotting into the first; Fluttershy's; he teleported her to his lair. He did the same to the rest; except for Twilight. That one he was going to kill himself. Then, cackling, he teleported out and into his lair with the desire to torture Twilight's friends. *** "WHERE IS EVERYPONY?!" shrieked Twilight as she read the letter that the creature had left her. Her eyes widened as she saw his name: Herobrine. In her mind, she imagined she was talking to Flash and Spike. Flash,Spike...are you there?? Then a voice drifted into her mind. Yes. What is it? The others have been captured by Herobrine. Do any of you know where Herobrine's lair is?? Silence for a moment, then Spike's voice shot through her mind. In the forest biome inside a large cave, came the voice. Thanks guys. I'll talk to you later, thought Twilight before galloping up to collect her supplies. In the forest, Twilight stalked forward swallowing nervously while holding up her iron sword. Then, when she turned a corner, she found herself facing down the shaft of an arrow, pulled back to be fired. A cerulean unicorn with striking reddish-orangish hair was levitating the bow and arrow. Her cyan eyes bore straight into Twilight's. But what Twilight found most intriguing about this pony was her cutie mark. The cutie mark was a pink heart surrounded in fire. Then the unicorn noticed Twilight's wings and bowed down. "Forgive me Your Majesty," she said in a low voice. "Just Twilight is fine. My name is Twilight Sparkle. And yours? Hunter, I presume?" But to Twilight's surprise, the unicorn shook her head. "Then what's your name?" asked Twilight. The unicorn leaned in close and whispered in Twilight's ear. "My name...is Artemis." > Chapter 4 : A New Friend > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight's mouth opened wide in shock. Villagers were named after their jobs! So, why was this particular unicorn named differently? And why was her cutie mark different? Artemis noticed and flattened her ears. "Yes, I see you notice. I am anything but the same as normal villagers," she said, then turned around and began sharpening her arrow. "But tell me, Princess. What are you doing in here? And why do you lack of a server thread when you are a user?" Artemis pointed above Twilight's head, indicating the lack of the server thread that connected users to the Source; a place where all the codes of Minecraft were kept. It was a green beam of light stretching up to the sky. But since Twilight had spelled herself inside the server, the thread somehow vanished. Twilight noticed the confusion in Artemis' eyes. But the strangest thing was the sadness merged with the confusion. Something had happened to the blue unicorn, and Twilight had a feeling she wouldn't be telling her any time sooner. "Well, I used a spell to magic me and my friends in here. And Herobrine caught them. Can you help?" At the mere mention of Herobrine, Artemis stiffened. She turned around to face Twilight, fear and anger burning within the cyan depths. "Have you lost your mind?! Herobrine is nearly impossible to defeat!!!" she spat. Twilight noticed that the unicorn's eyes were burning with that peculiar sadness. She waited until Artemis calmed down until she finally spoke again. "But...you say he has captured your friends? Then he most likely would be torturing them by now. If so, we need to hurry," she mused. "Come on. I'll take you to my hut." The blue unicorn turned and galloped off, glancing back to see if Twilight was following. She was, and Artemis led the way to a small hidden clearing. It was camouflaged behind a thick wall of brambles, reinforced with a two block thick wall. As they raced in, Twilight noticed the brambles created a dome around the hut. It was the exact colour of the forest; Twilight could barely see it. Artemis opened the doors and motioned for Twilight to come in. In the hut, Artemis asked Twilight to sit down while she poured some milk from the cows outside. Soon they were drinking milk while Twilight explained everything that happened so far. Artemis' eyes filled with fear, fury and concern for Twilight and her friends...and at Herobrine for capturing them to spite Twilight. "So.....he did it out of spite. Typical for a pony like him.." muttered Artemis while she sent the empty glasses into the kitchen. She slid off the chair. "Wait there a moment." She trotted into a heavily guarded room and came out later. She reached into her inventory and threw four items at Twilight. Twilight caught them and stared at the beautiful cyan surface with iridescent purple waves flowing off it. "Thanks for the enchanted diamond armour, but what about-" Twilight was interrupted when Artemis threw her an enchanted sword and bow. "What about you?" Artemis grinned for a moment before pulling out another set of enchanted armour. She put them on, unsheathed her enchanted sword and slung her quiver over her back. Twilight stared. "Where...how...." "I enchanted at least 5 sets of armour and at least 6 weapons," answered Artemis, pointing to the room. As Twilight squinted, she could make out an enchanting table and 3 sets of full enchanted armour on 3 armour stands. Artemis grinned again. "Like my display?" Twilight nodded and grinned. Artemis returned the grin. "Now lets go get your friends back and kick Herobrine's plot." > Chapter 5 : A Secret Revealed > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight and Artemis trudged through the thick forest. As she trudged along, Twilight took off her enchanted diamond helmet for a while. That thing was heavy. Artemis on the other ha-I mean hoof, held up her enchanted bow, ready to strike zombies or other mobs down. Then, she stopped and Twilight nearly crashed into her. "Wha?" asked Twilight. Artemis put her hoof to Twilight's mouth to silence her. "Over there," Artemis pointed to a green shape moving around in the bushes. It was a zombie, searching around for any foolish users or NPCs to kill. Artemis made quick work of her bow, killing the zombie with a flurry of hits. "Wow," said Twilight breathlessly. Artemis shrugged. "It's nothing," she said, although her voice was cracking. They trekked even further until it was nighttime. Artemis suggested they set up camp here. Twilight nodded and reached into her inventory, pulling out several stacks of oak wood planks. They built up some tents and set up a fire. While Twilight was sharpening her sword (just in case), she noticed Artemis regarding the fire with a sad look. "Ok. Tell me what happened. Why is your cutie mark and your name different? Why are you out here all alone?" prompted Twilight. Artemis nearly fell into the fire. "No," she snapped, looking away. Twilight came over and looked Artemis in the eye. "I won't tell anypony, Princess' honour," promises Twilight. Artemis sighed. "Alright, alright." "Long ago, in a village near the shore, there was a happy family who yearned for children. At last, a foal was born to them; me.At the time I was called Hunter. I grew up with my younger sister, Baker. It was a happy life...until the Virus came. He sent hoardes of monsters to destroy the villages across the servers. My father, Builder, built a big strong wall, thick enough to sustain twenty creepers. But, that Virus created new monsters. He created and charged up a huge creeper, and it tore through the wall as if it was made out of mere paper. It was then I was filled with a desire to destroy the Virus. At the moment I thought of that I got this cutie mark. At the time, our mother, Stitcher, had pulled us and the other kids into the secret cave where we would shelter until the forces were gone. At last, the hoarde went away, but my poor, poor father had lost his life battling the zombies. Our forces were at the time strong. But after a few more attacks on this village, after I had showed off my cutie mark...they accused me. They accused me of bringing the monsters here. They said the Virus was after me, because of my cutie mark. It was not a hunter's cutie mark; it should have been. My mother and sister tried to protest, but they kicked me out of the village...forced to become one of the Lost. That was when I built my shelter in the middle of the forest, hoping that my mother and sister would come visit me. But, they didn't. I have been living out here for 2 years. It was until yesterday I met you.And that is my tragic secret." Artemis was crying. Twilight didn't know how a pony that strong would cry so easily. At last Twilight knew what happened to the cerulean unicorn. She put a hoof around Artemis' neck. "I'm sorry," she said and gave her a hug. Artemis wiped away her tears. "It's fine. I feel better after telling you. You're a good friend, Twilight." Twilight took off her armour and trotted into her tent. She glanced at Artemis. "Good night, Artemis." "Good night Twilight." > Chapter 6 : Meanwhile.... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- While Twilight and Artemis were busy setting up camp, Herobrine had taken the other ponies into his lair. There, he quickly put the sleeping bodies into individual cages. Then, he cackled and teleported away, overlooking Twilight's camp. "I know you're there, Artemis. Soon, you'll be removed from Minecraft and your Princess friend will return to the other realm, taking me with her. Only then will I be able to take over the Internet and punish everypony for banishing me to this boring game!" he cackled. Fluttershy woke up in a different place. She was stuck in a cage, surrounded by her friends and other villagers. All of them looked old. And wise. "Hey, you, yellow one. Do you know how to get us outta here?"one of them asked. He had a pickaxe cutie mark and Fluttershy guessed he was Digger. "Um...sorry...um....sir? I just got here and....I have no idea where we are and..." Digger rolled his eyes. "Oh, another one huh? Well, you're no use then." He turned to his friends beside him. "Hey, Archer, where do you think Herobrine would go and capture others?" The one call Archer shrugged. "Beats me." Fluttershy was utterly confused. Herobrine? Who in the buck is that?! "Um....excuse me....uh..." The two elders did not care and continued blabbering about the 'Virus' as they called it. Then, Applejack woke up, followed by the others. "What in tarnation is going on here?!" she yelled in her country voice. The other NPCs immediately stopped talking and turned to see who was speaking. "Are you Farmer?" asked Digger. Applejack shook her head. "Nah, I'm Applejack....a....user. That is not actually a user..." At this Digger then realised that all of them were users. "Oh, that explains it. But why no server thread?" Rarity shook her mane. "It's complicated, darling. But, where are we,might I ask?" Archer stepped forward. "We are in Herobrine's lair." Rainbow Dash kicked her cage. "Herobrine? So...tell me again why some weird dude having that name locked us in here?" Another NPC stepped forward; possibly Woodcutter. "He is a virus that entered the software code that runs Minecraft. He has been trying to escape for countless Minecraft years and is currently capturing elders and wise ponies to find out how to escape. I believe after he found out about you users here, he is planning to go with you after you return home...into the physical world." The five users looked at each other in total bewilderment. "But why isn't Twilight here?" whimpered Fluttershy. "Who is this Twilight you're talking about?" asked Digger. "Don't you know? Princess Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship? Helloooooo??? She was with us until now. I have no idea where she might be," scoffed Rainbow. At the word 'princess' the NPCs stared open mouthed at the cyan pegasus. "Wait...she is an actual princess? Not just the user skin????" asked Archer in bewilderment. The five users nodded. "Well....I'm guessing Herobrine hasn't got her yet...or else he would have her hanging in chains over there. He usually does that with special ponies," noted Woodcutter. The five looked at each other. "But then...if Twilight's out there....he could capture her as well!!!" screamed Applejack. "We needa get outta here!" She started bucking the cage. "It's useless," Digger shook his head. "Even the most talented unicorns couldn't break the cage." "But why not??" asked Pinkie. "Because he's a bat-unicorn."
