The wind was blowing hard as Night Surfer pushed himself to continue flying through the thick clouds that were threatening the lands everywhere yet Night could do nothing about it as he was only one pegasus and he would need many to clear the clouds and no-pony was willing to help him; So he had given up and flew off towards Cloudsdale where it was safely suspended above the storm and freezing rain, he finally broke through the thick clouds and made his way through to Cloudsdale and landed...well crash landed as he was pretty exhausted from the long flight and the fight through the clouds.
Sighing he stood up shakily and made his way to his small room and collapsed on the his soft bed made out of clouds and fell quickly asleep and remained that way until the next day when he woke from the sound of the other pegasi talking and he yawned and went out to see what all the other commotion was about.
Stretching his wings out he took to the sky and went up to where they were all gathered and noticed his friend Derpy handing out muffins with a huge grin on her face, Night just chuckled as he knew the muffins would be delicious as Derpy never made nasty tasting muffins and they were always good. Heading towards them he cleared his throat, "Good morning every-pony, and hey there Derpy. Making breakfest again?" He said with a quick smile and Derpy nodded and motioned towards the muffins on the table, "Well lets see, chocolate chip and peanut butter muffins. Oh wow Derpy, these sound delicious; Do you mind if I take two?"
Derpy shook his head with a huge grin on here face and Night Surfer grabbed two muffins before turning back to Derpy, "We should totally hang out today after your done handing these out, the storms cleared up so we could go visit Ponyville and get together with the others. I'm not sure if Rainbow Dash is back yet though, she would to Canterlot with Rarity to pick up some supplies." He watched as Derpy handed out more muffins before she turned back to him, 
'That sounds like fun Night, what do you wanna do?' 
Night thought about it for a minute before a thought occured to him, "We could see if Twilight is done with her studies and maybe gettogether with Applejack and Fluttershy and go explore Equestria, I mean I know for certain we haven't explored all of the places yet as there so much out there."  
Derpy nodded and Night grinned before flying up into the air to go down to the ground and see how much damage the storm caused last night, "Meet me at Ponyville Derpy when your ready!" He didn't even wait for Derpy to say anything he just took off as fast as he could, he loved zooming throught the air almost as much as Rainbow Dash and he also had dreams of flying with the Wonderbolts but then he wasn't going to try and he was just going to show off his style and see what happened; Since he had a couple hours to spare Night decided to practice with his tricks that Rainbow Dash had been teaching him before she and Rarity had gone to Canterlot and flew high in the air and did a few spins before racing to the earth as fast as he could and then right before he hit the ground he flew high in the air and raced through a few clouds that were still gathered tearing them apart and grinned before heading to Ponyville and landed near Applejack's barn and heard some talking going on and decided to investigate.
He should of known, it was the Cutie Mark Crusaders on another of their crusades and it seemed to him that they were attempting to juggle a bunch of apples and were failing miserably as they kept crashing into eachother since they were riding unicycles as well; Night sighed and entered the barn and cleared his throat and watched as they all fell startled from his sudden appearance and shook his hand with a slight grin, "Good morning CMCs, I see your on another of your crusades."  They nodded and Night Surfer entered the barn and frowned at the mess of apples scattered around the barn, this was not going to go over well when Applejack showed up. "Before you do anything else, I suggest you clean this mess up; You know as well as I do that Applejack will not be very pleased with the mess this place is in."
They nodded their heads and Scootaloo approached him and Night grinned, he knew what she was going to ask as it was something he had heard them ask the Mane Six once.
'Hey Night Surfer, how did you get your cutie mark? Its soooo cool.'
Night smiled and whistled to the others as they were cleaning, he knew they would want to hear this story as well. "It all begin when I was a little colt maybe a little older then you three and Scootaloo, I couldn't fly either and I was made fun off too and probably more often then you since I almost always tried to fly and I often injured myself in the process such as the time I tried jumping off a building to fly; Needless to say after nearly losing my wing from the injury I stopped trying and started a new attempt by having two other pegasis fly me through the air, it was fun but pointless but this isnt how I earned my cutie mark."
He chuckled as the three leaned in interested,
"I stopped trying to learn how to fly until one night when I decided to go out by myself and sat down near the Evergreen Forest and watched the stars as they came up over the land, it was beautiful and I learned that night that my place was among the stars I yearned for the chance to fly up into the sky and make my place among the stars, so I spread my wings out and took off at a quick run and flapped them hard when finally after  final push I flew up into the air but considering I was new at that I couldn't control my movements very well and crashed into a heyfield which was what saved my life. But that night I found my place and earned this baby right here, believe I was so proud of it I could not stop showing it off no matter what."
Night finished his story and the cutie marks all gathered in another circle whispering to eachother, and he had a feeling they were going to try new ideas from which had give them and he sighed and walked away; He hoped they didn't do anything stupid, but heck he had so they would have to learn on their own. Flying into the air he took off towards Twilight's place at the library where he knew she would be studying as that was something she always did on her free times but then she could be cleaning up the library as it was usually a mess after her studies, landing near her house he knocked on the door with his left hoof which had a blue watch strapped to it not that he ever looked at it but he wore it for looks.

He waited for a few minutes before he heard her hoofbeats coming towards the door and she opened it revealing a bedheveled Twilight and a huge mess of books on the floor, "Um Twilight, you don't look very well today"

He heard her sigh and then she opened the door all the way for him to enter and he did so and noticed that Spike was not here, "Why are you so bedheveled today?" He asked worriedly.

'Ugh its horrible, the princess is coming over tomorrow and Spike took off with a new dragon friend so I have no help and the place is a mess! I don't know what to do!"

Night Surfer sighed, he had hoped he could go exploring with Derpy today but he supposed he would have to help Twilight first as he was trying to be a good friend to all the ponies, "I can help you Twilight, where do I begin."

She nodded to the books and Night got work using his wings to balance the books and carefully placed them on the correct spots on the shelves, this wouldv'e been a lot easier had he been a unicorn but he would never change his wings for anything, he loved them too much. It took a few hours before he finally finished but they managed to get the place cleaned and spotless. "Well I'm off to find Derpy now Twilight!"

He didn't get a responce but he did hear snoring coming from her room and went to investigate, it looked like she had fallen asleep while cleaning the room and he chuckled before moving her to her bed as gently as he could before taking off outside to find Derpy.
Deciding just to walk through town instead of flying even though that was something he enjoyed doing but he wanted to get a good look around and was surprised the all the ponies  had cleaned up the town pretty well after the storm and his duties were not required, so that was one worry that was chased away so now all he had to do was find Derpy so they could start their exploration of Equestria though he wasn't sure how long that would take as the other places were like miles away from Ponyville and he had no idea how long it would take to get there but that was the fun of it he supposed.
Trotting down the road he decided to check out the marketplace since it was of course that time and he knew Applejack would be around selling some of her delicious treats and his mouth just watered at the thought before nearly running into another pony, and of course it had to be Derpy who was carrying a plate of muffins and she looked sheepishly at Night Surfer.
'Uh hi NIght, sorry for being late. Ponies kept coming after you left, want a muffin?'
Night sighed and nodded before grabbing another one, he could never get enough of her muffins as they were so delicious and so without a moment of waiting he scarfed it down and smacked his lips before grinning at Derpy. "Derpy, you make the best muffins!"
He watched her blush before giggling and looked up and sighed when he noticed the sun was going down which sorta ruined their plans for their journey so turned back to Derpy with a shake of his head. "Well looks like we'll have to wait for tomorrow to start our journey Derpy, sorry." Night noticed Derpy didn't look like she minded very much as she just grinned and took off, Night Surfer just shook his head with a grin; Derpy was so strange sometimes but she was a great friend.
Trotting down the road he head a lot of commotion going on in the Sugarcube Corner and just HAD to investigate as who knew what kind of tasty treats they were fixing up in there! 
As he entered his mouth watered at the tasty aromas coming from the kitchen and now he was craving cupcakes, great now Pinkie Pie was getting to him... all he had to do was back out very very slowly and he would be fine.
'Heya Night Surfer! Whatcha doing?'
He tensed when he recognised Pinkie's voice but calmed himself, "Hey there Pinkie Pie, I'm just investigating the smells coming from the kitchen; It smells soooo appetising!"
He watched her grin widely and then vanish into the kitchen before reappearing with a plate of cupcakes, and his mouth begin watering again and he knew he could not escape this time, he was soooo doomed.
'We're making tons of cupcakes and other sweets for the visit of Princess Celestia tomorrow, do ya wanna try some?'
He found himself moving forward without hesitation and grabbed one of the shelf and scarfed it down and his mouth turned up in a huge grin, "That was like the best I've ever tasted Pinkie! You're working extra hard today!"
She grinned and nodded before taking the plate back into the kitchen and came back out,
'I wish I could talk more but I'm planning all kinds of things for her visit!'
Night chuckled and nodded before leaving the store and headed off towards Fluttershy's cottage just to visit, he would go visit Rainbow Dash but she still hadn't returned with Rarity and sometimes he thought they had a thing going for eachother but then again it could just be his imagination as they were totally unlike eachother; She was fashionable and Rainbow was awesome and cool, two huge differences and he really had a crush on Rainbow even though he hadn't got up the nerve to tell her yet.
Sighing he trotted up to Fluttershy's door and knocked quietly as he knew how easily scared she was but obviously he was not careful enough for he heard her yelp and something fall to the floor with a loud bang before he heard hoofsteps approach the door and the door opened slowly.
'Who, who is there?'
Night Surfer chuckled before clearing his throat, "Its only me Night Surfer Fluttershy, there is really no reason to be scared. Can I come in?" He waited a few minutes before the door opened all the way revealing a pretty yellow pegasus and she shyly nodded and he entered and sat down near the door and noticed Angel stomping his paws and Night grinned, "Hey Angel, how ya doing old pal?" Angel just glared at him and hopped away while Fluttershy came and sat down beside him.
'So can I help you with anything Night?" Fluttershy said softly and Night shook his head as he was only there to visit. "Nah I'm just here to visit, I was gonna go on an adventure with Derpy as Rainbow Dash is gone away with Rarity but nights approaching fast so we postponed. What are you doing?" Fluttershy sighed and pointed to the kitchen with her right hoof. 'I was trying to make dinner but it isnt turning out well, do you mind helping? I mean if its alright with you..'
Night Surfer shrugged and nodded before heading to the kitchen and his eyes grew wide at the huge mess in front of him, there was salad and carrots alll over the place and he groaned as at times like this he wished he was a unicorn but no he was glad to be a pegasus for that was his life.
