Follow the story of a beast, who follows the Mane 6 on their journey.
This is my first story so forgive me if it's more or less crappy. This follows a beast who is raised by Celestia, and goes with the Mane 6 on their journey to learn the magic of friendship. UPDATE: I'm looking for people to help improve this story... Any takers?
Hello, my name is Eli. When you think of me, you’ll probably think about a pony. Don’t. Instead, think of a beast. My species is a mystery. When most people talk about a beast, that’s me, when they talk about a mysterious creature, think about me. My story actually starts in Canterlot. Specifically, the castle of Celestia and Luna, it begins a few years before Luna was banished.
My dying mother drops me off during a harsh winter storm. A knock on the door is heard through out the whole castle. Celestia answers the door and finds a dying beast, and her baby. That baby is me. Most beasts are born fleshy, but when we mature, our skin grows strong bone-like plates. Celestia knew that the mother was dying, so she took the baby in. I was raised under her wings. She fed, changed, even taught me how to speak and walk. Which is another thing, Beasts (like myself) can be taught how to walk on our hind legs, speak in a normal language, and (in some cases) use magic. I always called her mother, because she was my mother, to me.
By the time I was one, she started spending less, and less time with me. It started with hey only feeding and training me. Then it was magic training, and then it ended. It only seemed like the only time we could talk was during dinner and breakfast. While I had nothing during the day to do, Luna would be my “Babysitter”. Eventually, I started following her. I would accidentally slip “mom” or something like that.
The last time I saw her, was my 3rd birthday, which was the day before she was banished. She and Celestia got into a fight. I took Luna’s side, which ended wrong. Luna was banished, and I went into a horrible depression. I would often time get into a “rage growth” which is when a beast gets really angry and grows to 3-4 times their size. I would fight until Celestia sang a lullaby, which put me to sleep.
I would use age spells to mature my body, making my body as an adult, but it’s like putting on a costume. It like you’re a different person, but you knew who you were.
She eventually banished me to Mars. It took her 10 months to do so, but I couldn’t believe it, my own mother, doing so. I was really depressed, which sparked more rage growths. By the way, if you’re wondering why there are no aliens, and why Mars is red, you can thank me.
It was 500 years; I was locked in an age spell, which kept me at my current age until I returned. It was only a week after Luna was hit with the Elements of Harmony. (This is between episode 2 & 3) I returned to destroy Canterlot.
“Hold it beast!” yelled Twilight Sparkle as she teleported into Canterlot.
“So, you’re the one they call twilight, charming. Too bad you’re death is inevitable” I picked her up and threw her into a stall of chickens. It wasn’t long before Celestia arrived.
“Eli? Is that you?” Celestia called, since it has been 500 years when she last saw me.
“Celestia! It’s good to see you; I’m only here wreaking Canterlot.”
“We’re here to stop you.”
“Fine then, I’ll destroy you.” This is when Mane 6 got me with the elements. I lost my adult body and was left with my old body. I felt weak, and helpless. I fell. I remember waking up inside the castle, with everybody else around me.
“Wha… what happened?”
“DUH! We totally got you.” blurted Pinkie Pie,
“I’m glad my baby is alright,” said Celestia as she came towards me to hug me.
“Why did you send Luna to the moon? I never got to say good bye.” I started to cry.
“I had to because she was going to torture the other ponies.” Celestia said as she tried to comfort me.
“And I’m right here” said a familiar voice.
I looked in that direction where the voice came from, and it was her. “Luna! I got up to hug her, only to be restricted by a chain attached to my foot.
“We were afraid you would try and attack one of us when you awoke” Twilight said,
“So I grabbed a chain and hooked ya’ up” followed Applejack.
I got back into my bed, “so now what? I’m going to be chained up like a dog?”
“Think of this as a punishment,” replied Celestia “you’ll stay in here for a week. The chain is large enough for you to walk around the room”. This was a shocker, and a first. Never has my mother punished me. I was usually good, well before Luna’s banishment.
A week has passed just like that. I went walking about Canterlot looking for any jobs I could do. It seems nopony wants a beast that has the attention span of an almost 4 year old. I decided to move to Ponyville so I can look for a job. I first tried as an animal care helper, but the bunnies got scared fast. I then tried as an apple picked, but Apple jack wants fresh apples, not apple fries. I had no luck at Candy Corner, because I ate a lot of the cakes. And don’t get me started with Rarity or Rainbow Dash. I finally tried at the library, which was a success! I could carry the books and not harm them, and I could help Twilight out with a lot of her research since I read every book in the royal library, twice.
So time went on, I spent most of my times outdoors doing research on animals, life habits, and even plant life. Being outdoors was wonderful. When I came inside, I deposited any notes I had, along with specimen that Twilight needed. Yes it felt wonderful. And with my 4th birthday coming up, I was saving up for a nice hat and vest to wear out doors. I made 5 bits a day, and not to mention rooming and meals. I am getting a discount from Rarity because I ran errands for her, not because I like her, just so I can stay outside.
I heard Twilight writing something down way late in the night. I heard, “ok, I need to get this, and that, and Applejack needs to bring this…” I ignored it. It was probably nothing. Within a few weeks I knew my birthday was coming up, and I know it would be so awesome.
