Shortly after Luna was sent to the moon, she began to wonder what will happen if she comes home, to Equestria. The ponies would surely hate her. So she used her little power over dreams, to tell Celestia that she wanted to give a gift to Equestria.

Luna is sent to the moon for punishment, and is wondering what will happen. All she sees is a barren wasteland, and she's the only one there. She began to think about when she will return. She assumes it will be in a a few years. But after 100 years had passed, she began to think she would never leave the land. She dreamt of going back, and she realized that if she did go back, Equestria would have a grudge against her. But she had no way whatsoever to tell the ponies. She slowly lifted up a rock, and her magic backfired and the rock exploded in to beautiful sparkly lights. That was it! She decided to contact Celestia, in her dreams, though it took another 100 years to get connection for one minute, and finally is able to tell her plans, and eggs Celestia for just one night where Luna could show Equestria that she wasn't so bad as they thought she was.

Luna's gift

I wandered the moon, steadily walking across its endless cold stone, and I , time to time, thought about when I was Nightmare Moon.

I didn't want to, but I couldn't stop myself. I became Nightmare Moon because of Jealously, loneliness, and just pure hatred. I hated my sister, the so called Ruler of Equestria. They said in books, 'The only Ruler of Equestria, the only pony with both wings and a horn.' I looked at myself every time I read a sentence, just like that. I have wings, and I have a horn. I also have a crown, and have power just like Celestia. Then...Why am I not a Ruler? Why am I just treated like some random Princess wannabe? But... I am a real Princess! Arn't I? I thought.

I then thought of the endless lands, and remembered the beautiful scenery at the Canterlot Garden, Fillies playing, and most of all, my sister whom I thought I loved.

But this land was barren, and no pony else but me.

'Why, Tia! Why must you send me here?! Could you not... Lock me in a cell?! Keep me under arrest?! Make sure guards keep and eye on me?! Why must you send me here, where no pony can see me?!' I would cry aloud, tears streaming down my cheeks.

But then, I thought, 'Wait, what will the ponies think of me? When I come home?' And I started to wonder, they would hate for all the damage I caused Equestria. I had to repay them. With something beautiful. They already ignore the stars, much less the Night. They...love the day, which is the opposite of night. Ohhh, what do I do?! Okay, so they like Sun. Sun is light. Light in night, light in night, stars... Stars are already there, since their raised every night, so... A light that's bright, in night! There's nothing like that... Except for flying lights. Flying lights? What if... I could create a light, soaring through the sky, bright. But not too bright. Wait a second... 'That's right!"

A thought came to my mind. If the ponies liked the sun, they like light! So just create a light in the night!

She lifted a stone with her horn, which could use only simple everyday magic. Her horn glowed, and her spell backfired and failed. Lights sparked, and it was a light in the night!

'That's it!' I exclaimed. It became dark, and she felt the moon move slightly.

'Ok, try to contact Celestia in her dreams.' I said whispering.

I fell in to a deep sleep, and I stood up. 'I have to get to Tia's dream!' So I ran, far throughout the Celestial Plane. 'Come on!' I muttered, and finally found it.

I reached in a hoof, and it bounced off like a ball thrown in a hard iron wall. 'Celestia!!!' I screamed with all my might.

'Luna?' I heard a voice. '

Tia! Can you hear me?' I asked, and I heard a scuffling sound.

'Yes, barely. Is that really you?' Tia's voice sounded.

'Yes, it's me. I used all my strength to reach you, but only for a few seconds. I-I need to you to give me a chance! To show Equestria something!' I cried, using all my voice.

'I can't, Luna.' Tia said.

'Just one Night. Just one night, that's all I need!' Luna pleaded.

'I really wish I could, but it's impossible for you to reach Equestria, with only simple magic.' Tia said, shaking her head.

'Here's a deal. Lower the Moon, close to Equestria, just close enough for me to use my magic I planned. Then, if I hurt any citizen in Equestria by any means, you may banish me forever.'

'That's not a deal!'

'Please, Tia. I am willing to risk my life, just once to make Equestria remember me, any good side of me!' I cried, tears swelling in my eyes.
'If not, then... I'm afraid that... Equestria will remember me as a monster! But I'm not! I think, I believe. Just... Just once, please.' I cried.

'...' Tia was silent, and I assumed she had woke up.

'No hope for me to become a hero... I'll be a monster!' Luna cried, walking away.

'One night! That's it.' Tia said, suddenly.

'One night, because I trust you.' Tia said, though she could not see Luna.

'Really? Thank you, Celestia, Thank you!' I cried, now tears of Joy.

That night...
"Citizens of Equestria! Tonight the moon will be lowered, for my sister has requested a small amount of times to show you all something." Celestia announced, and a murmur erupted from the crowd. Ponyville, Cloudsdale, Canterlot ponies too.

"Show us something?" A pony muttered.

"It's a nightmare opening! Don't let the kids see it!"

"Why did the Princess accept?"

"She was forced to! I'm sure!"

"We're talking Nightmare Mooon!"

"I wonder what it is?" Ponies murmured to one another.

Celestia lowered the Sun, and the Moon rose, larger than usual. The mothers hid her children's eyes, and they struggled to look. "Ok, are you ready?" I asked myself on the moon, picked up a few rocks with my magic, and made them glow.

I hurled them. They exploded in to light beams of light. "Woah!" The crowd gasped.
They were magnificent! Blue, pink, red, green, every color! Different shapes too, Hearts, Stars, and Bolts. "Ohhh! Ahhh!" The crowd was amazed.

Celestia smiled, tears streaming from her eyes. There, a message only to her, said, " To Tia, I'm sorry. From, Luna.

Celestia cried silently, as the light in the night, blew high, created by Luna.

"Tia, I'm sorry. For everything I've done to hurt you. But remember this..." Luna said on the moon, silently making the Lights.

"I love you."

"Luna, I'm sorry. But... Me too." Celestia said, though they couldn't hear each other, still, far, far away.

They might have just heard each other's voices, quietly whispering as the Fireworks burst in the night.
