Electra, known as the Lightning Pegasus is new to Ponyville, and she starts a friendship/rivalry with the well known Rainbow Dash
Electra Strike is a Pegasus who moves from Cloudsdale to Ponyville to seek out some new friends, when she comes across the well known and loyal Rainbow Dash, instant friendship is made, but there's something different about Electra that Rainbow Dash soon discovers. So then an adventure is formed, a villain is made and heroes must save the day.
1.5em]“Well it's settled," Electra Strike soared around her home that she may no longer be spending her days in, “I head out to Ponyville first thing tomorrow morning!" She stared into an old mirror that hung on her wall. She stared at the reflection of the white pegasus, she had yellow eyes, black at the bottom of her hooves and a white mane which she kept up with a black headband in some punk rock styled bun, and she had a jet black lightning strike for a cutie mark. She was distracted from looking at herself as another pony entered her house, she looked down to see if it was okay. This was another mare who had a dark grey coat, light pink eyes, a red mane who also had a black headband in a short style, she had a yellow spot on her nose and wore huge black glasses, and her wings were mechanical with a yellow outline. “Darla! You came to help me pack for moving! How considerate." Electra sped down the stairs to greet her.
“Electra, so you're really moving huh?" Darla said, she had a soft and shaky voice and it was hard to take her seriously. Electra nodded with excitement. “Why of course, I ain't spending all my time up with my head in the clouds, I've got to make more friends than just you, it'd be embarrassing, no offence." Darla sighed and nodded. “None taken, I'm just worried that now you're gone everyone will laugh at my wings because you're not there to protect me." Electra laughed and held Darla's head up. “C'mon buddy, I didn't become friends with a downer, I'll visit and I'll even write. If anypony goes near you, you just write to me and I'll fly right back to give them what they asked for, besides, we're both fourteen, it's about time we made new friends, just because I'll be in a different town and making new fried me doesn't mean I'll forget you, you're still my bestest friend," Darla perked up a little, “there's the girl I know and love, now c'mon snd help me pack!" Darla nodded and helped Electra decide what to bring and what not to bring.
“So, the reason I came in the first place is that I brought you some gifts, for your new town." Darla brought Electra a brown sack. “Cool! You got gifts for me!" Electra hugged her friend and looked inside. She found a yellow vest and 2 pairs of 3 golden bangles. “Maybe if you wear them in your new town it'll give you a sense of identity." Electra flew up and did a couple of circles to show she was happy. “They look awesome!" Then Electra saw what was at the bottom of the sack, she pulled out a blue book with a black lightning strike similar to her cutie mark on it. She opened the book to find the pages empty. “So, is this a journal of some sorts?" Darla blushed a bit. “I thought that if you kept a log in your new town every night you can read over it if you ever come back to remember the times you had." Electra hugged Darla again. “I think it's great," she said, but more sincere and softly than usual. Darla blushed again and hugged Electra back. Electra than looked at the clock and yawned. "It's getting late, I should get some rest before I move tomorrow." Darla nodded and took the now empty sack out with her. “Wait, Darla," Darla stood at the door and stared back at Electra, “I'll miss you." Darla nodded as a reply and left for Electra to get to bed. “Next time I'll be sleeping," she yawned, “I'll live in Ponyville." Then she drifted off to sleep.
The next morning she woke with a start. “It's 7am, the balloon I had scheduled, leaves in ten minutes. I have time, I'm sure I do." She then remembered the vets and bangles that Darla had given her the night before. She quickly put on the vest and placed the bangles at the top of her two from legs. She crammed the journal into her bag and flew out the door of her house. She met up with the air balloon pony. “Lookie here, you're right on time." Electra laughed. “Something as big as this move isn't something I'd be late for." The balloon pony rolled her eyes and let Electra into the balloon. “So you're going to Ponyville, home to the princess of friendship and her friends, those six put that town on the map, not literally but now it's more than just a little town." Electra nodded and watched the balloon fly off leaving her hometown behind. “Princess Twilight's friends, I heard that two used to live in Cloudsdale." The balloon pony nodded. “You know your facts, that'll help you make some friends, any at home you'll be missing?" Electra looked back at home one last time and turned around. “Yes, I have one, as great as she is I can't just have one friend, these ponies have been unaware of my coolness for too long, I'll get them out of the dark."
In around thirty minutes the balloon landed in Ponyville. Electra stood out and admired the little town. “Okay Electra, I hope you show them out of the dark with your coolness." The balloon pony laughed as the balloon flew off leaving her alone. Electra placed her saddle bag full of her stuff onto her back as she walked through the almost deserted town. “You know, for a town housing a princess it still stays small and modest." Electra muttered to herself. She thought of the journal that Darla had given her. “I'll need a quill to write in my journal with." Then she stood in front of a small shop. “Quills and sofas," she read snd rolled her eyes, “how convient." She walked into the store and was greeted by a salepony. “Welcome to quills and sofas," he introduced, “what brings you here this early in the morning?" Electra checked the clock. It was 7:40. “Im new to town, I saw the name and was looking for a quill and maybe some ink." The salepony politely obliged. Electra paid the amount of bits and was sent on her way.
Electra walked out of the shop. “The house I bought is meant to be in one of these houses. She looked around identical two storey houses. Then she saw her one, it had a note on the door. She took it off and read it. “This one is mine all right." She took the key out of her bag and unlocked the door. She looked into the dark and empty house. She set down her bags. She emptied some of the contents so she could buy some groceries. She set out of the house again and down the road into a market. “There'll be ponies here." She looked around and sure enough there were. “Okay, I just need to find somepony I can share an intrest with." She looked around at the other ponies. She stared at the new ponies without wings that she had only seen in stories. “There are so many, who should I talk to first?" Then she saw a pastel pink earth pony with a wild pink mane, blue eyes and three balloons as a cutie mark approached her. “I think she sees me, so I just got to play it cool." The pink earth pony came closer. “Sup, the names Electra and I'm new here so I was…." The pink pony leaped into the air and stayed for several seconds until dashing off again.
“I wouldn't be too worried about Pinkie Pie, she's just random." Electra turned around and saw another pony, this time a pastel blue pegasus, with a rainbow rain and had a cloud and a rainbow lightning strike as a cutie mark. “I heard you say you were knew around here, where you from?" Electra thought she could be the one. “Oh, I'm from Cloudsdale, I just moved to Ponyville today." The blue pegasus laughed. “Small world, I'm a Ponyvilleian that used to be from Cloudsdale." Electra smiled. “Nice! Can you prove it?" The pegasus was confused. “What?! Prove it?" Electra smirked. “If you can keep up than try to keep up with me in flight." The blue pegasus was taken back by the sudden challenge but quickly accepted. “On three," Electra and the other pegasus stood in the ready position to take off. “1, 2, 3!" The two instantly soared into the sky. The other pegasus felt confident that she would leave this new girl in the dust, but the two were surprisingly neck in neck.
Minutes later the two landed on a cloud together both panting. “Wow, barely anypony I know van keep up with my awesomeness, you sure are something else." Electra lit up a bit. “The name's Rainbow Dash," she held up he hoof for Electra to shake. “I'm Electra, nice to meetcha!" Electra shook Rainbow Dash's hoof. “Now c'mon Dash! Last pony to the ground is a rotten tomato!" Then two dashed down to the ground at the same time. Electra picked up her empty bags from the ground. “Now I must get back to the market. Rainbow Dash followed her. “You're new, you need somebody to show you round." Electra smiled. “Didn't think I'd meet someone this early. I only had one friend for fourteen years." The two walked towards the market, while Rainbow Dash introduced her to some of the townsfolk. Then they came across another one of Rainbow Dash's friends. “It's Rarity, she's great you're going to love her." They both came towards her.
Electra followed her new friend to the white unicorn with the stylish, curly purple mane and her big blue eyes with the three blue diamonds as a cutie mark. “Rainbow Dash darling," her posh accent nearly startled Electra, Rarity then saw her, “who's this friend of yours?" Rainbow Dash looked to her right at Electra. “This is my new friend Electra," she blushed at Rainbow Dash mentioning the word friend, “I was showing her around, she's new, so it'll help her fit in." Rarity nodded. “What is that piece you're wearing?" Electra looked at her outfit. “My best friend from Cloudsdale gave this to me as a leaving present, I'd hate to not wear it." Rarity smiled and nodded. “Well, good luck with the tour Rainbow Dash darling!" With that Rarity trotted off. “She owns the boutique in Ponyville. You may see her as one note now, but you'll learn to love her like we all do." Electra nodded and watched her trot away for a few seconds before returning to Rainbow Dash.
“I'll introduce you to all my friends, if you don't mind being overshadowed by my awesomeness." Electra liked the idea. “It's okay Dash, they're your friends and I won't steal them from you with my awesome infinity rating." Rainbow Dash found the idea of this new kid upstaging her to be near impossible. “Don't let yourself think that far just yet, now come with me, Applejack's reaction when she finds out there's another me in town will be sweet!" They flew together to the resident red barn. “I don't see her, she's usually working here. Maybe Big Mac will know, c'mon." The two flew down the the ground beneath the hundreds of apple trees. They looked around. Electra pointed out the larger than average red stallion with the ginger mane and the apple half for a cutie mark. “He looks like a BIG Mac." Rainbow Dash walked towards him. “Leave this to me, he has a limited vocabulary, you need to know him to understand what he's onto."
Three minutes of “eeyups" and “nopes" Rainbow Dash returned. “So… what I can gather, Applejack was visited by Pinkie Pie and headed out with Fluttershy, Twilight and Rarity." Electra sighed. “Oh well, we can meet them some other time, let's go back to my place." Rainbow Dash nodded. “Let's." The two flew into the middle of town where her house stood. “It's not much, I haven't decorated yet, but soon it'll be good enough maybe she'll come over sometime." Rainbow Dash looked confused. “Who's she?" Electra took a picture out of her bag and showed the creased picture of Electra and the gray mechanical winged pegasus. “Darla," Electra explained, “my first and only friend i had in that city." Rainbow Dash handed the picture back to Electra. “So, those wings, is that…?" Electra put the picture back in her bag. “She wouldn't like anyone to know." Rainbow Dash sighed. “Let's just go inside." Electra nodded and opened the door. It was darker than usual. Electra switched the lights…
Electra froze as she saw the surprise party taking place in her house. The pink pony from before approached Electra and Rainbiw Dash. “Pinkie Pie, why didn't I see this coming?" Rainbow Dash said, she seemed slightly embarrassed. Pinkie Pie laughed. “It's what I do Dashie, so, was Electra surprised?" Ten two looked at the white pegasus still in shock. “Well, you could say I was, how do you know my name?" “Well, let's just say Pinkie gets around easily." Rainbow Dash suggested. “Why is every pony in my house?" Electra asked. Pinkie Pie came in to answer.
“Well, when I saw you before I knew you were new because I didn't know you amd I'm friends with every pony in PonyVille, so I set up a surprise welcome to PonyVille party!" Electra nodded slowly and saw all the ponies. Rainbow Dash dragged Electra away. “C'mon, I'll show you the rest of my best friends." Electra nodded and followed Rainbkw Dash. She saw another 5 ponies. An orange earth pony wearing a brown hat with a yellow mane, green eyes and three red apples as a cutie mark, a yellow pegasus with a pink mane, blue eyes and three butterflys as a cutie mark, Rarity and Pinkie Pie, and a purple alicorn with a dark purple and pink mane with purple eyes and a big pink star as a cutie mark.
“Hey! I know you." Electra said to the alicorn. The alicorn paused and looked at her. “Me?" “Yeah, you're Twilight Sparkle, princess of friendship. You think I ain't gonna notice that?" Twilight blushed slightly. Electra looked at the other two ponies, the yellow Pegasus and the Orange earth pony “I'm guessing the earth pony's Applejack, and the pegasus is the other one." “Fluttershy." “Yeah, that's her name." Fluttershy blushed and waved at her. Electra waved back.
Then there was a knock on the door. Electra opened the door to see a mail pony standing there with a small letter. “This is Electra Strike's new residence, isn't it?" Electra nodded and took the letter. “Don't you want to join the party?" The stallion shook his head. “I'm afraid I'm too busy, but thanks for the offer." With that he flew away. Electra opened the letter, read it and groaned. “What seems to be the problem?" Rainbow Dash asked. “It's the movie company, they say that I need to move mode of my stuff out of my old house myself, it'll take ages to go back and forth several times." “I can help!" Rainbow a Dash offered, “and maybe Fluttershy and Twilght can help out, if they don't mind." The two nodded reluctantly. Electra smiled and shook the ponies hoofs quickly. “Great! We'll get to know each other much better!"
After the party was over Electra exhaustingly fell onto her bed and sighed. “This day went better than I expected." She took out her journal that Darla had given her, she took out her quill an d wrote: Dear Darla, This day went just perfectly, not only is the town nice and friendly, I made friends with an awesome Pegasus and met the princes of friendship. If any other days is as good as this one, I'm sure I'm really going to enjoy living in this place. Just as nobody find out the secret. See you soon, Electra
Spike walked into Twilight's bedroom. “Rainbow Dash called over, she said she's expecting you at some mare named Electra's house in around ten minutes." Twilight yawned and opened her eyes to see the purple and green baby dragon in front of her. Tired, she got out of bed. “Thanks for the heads up Spike, we're helping this new pony Electra move her stuff from her old house." She then left to help her friends. She met the two outside of Electra's house. “Fluttershy's late?" Electra nodded and rolled her eyes. “Oh well." Right on cue the yellow Pegasus slowly fluttered her way over to the other three waiting for her. “Oh my, sorry for not being on time, you see Angel wouldn't eat his breakfast and I had to…" “Okay, we can cut the apologies, we're already late as it is."
They flew to Cloudsale and made it in thirty minutes. “My house is at the edge of the city, we just need to head west." The others nodded and followed the white mare through the city. They came across the last house in the city. “I'm guessing this one's yours." Rainbow Dash said. Electra nodded and took out the key. “We just need to collect some items that can't be replaced easily, like furniture you don't collect, but stuff like books, photos or any personal items of mine, there are boxes beside the door." Twilight lifted the boxes with her magic, a dark pink aura covered the boxes and lifted them into the air. “Let's get to it, the quicker we get it done the better."
The four got into the abandoned house and collected items. Then the reached Electra's bedroom. Electra turned to Twilight. “Dashie said you liked books, don't you." Twilight nodded. “Well, there are some books I've already read back to front, maybe if there are some that you don't have, you'd like to take some of them along with you." Twilight then looked around for a book she didn't own. Then she saw the spine of one book she haven't seen before. It was a black book what had no title. She was intrigued and took it along with her. Along with some others, she saw another that was blank, but that one was purple. “She has a whole shelf of these," she thought, “all different colours, and in a pattern, it starts with white and ends at black, maybe it's like a series."
“Yo Twily, you coming back to Ponyville?" Twilight woke out of her daze and saw that the other three had the three boxes filled. “I'm coming!" She lifted the books into the box and took off with the rest back home. Electra looked one last time at her old house. “So many memories at this place, now I'm just leaving it behind forever." Rainbow Dash looked back at Electra. “We all gotta move at some point, you'll get over it, everyone does." Electra nodded and joined the others to the ride back to Ponyville.
“Thanks for all the help you guys," Electra said while blushing, “now I'll let you all get back to whatever you guys do, maybe Twilight can get to those books." Rainbow Dash followed Twilight back to the castle. “So, I see you got a lot of books there, I'd never expect you to actually have books you've never read." Twilight rolled her eyes and walked back to the castle. “There's something strange about these books, I've never seen them anywhere before, no titles either, only colours, there are seven of them, white, purple, blue, red, orange, yellow and black in order." Rainbow Dash nodded. “You go investigate, if you see anything that may intrest me, like a monster or something, let me know and I'll destroy it." Twilight nodded and watched Rainbow Dash fly away.
“Let's see here, so, I'll start with the white and go all the way up to black." Twenty minutes later, Spike walked into the room where twilight was seating, he saw that she had all the books spread all over the table. “Spike, these books aren't actually books, they're journals, but no ordinary ones for sure." “How is it not ordinary? Sure she set them on her shelf like they were normal books and have seven ones, but maybe she just likes writing in them." “It's what's inside the journals Spike, look!" She showed Spike the first of the seven, the white one. It showed a filly around the age of seven. It was a pegasus, she had a dark purple coat, a blue mane and tail in a long and straight style, she had red eyes, a yellow lightning strike cutie mark, an orange hair band and had white at the bottom of her hooves. She showed him a summary she wrote down, that the filly occasionally wrote about having strange visions in her dreams about a dark magic of some sorts. Then at the end of the book it showed the picture of the filly, but the end of her hooves were no longer white but black.
Purple, it started with the same picture at the start but at the age of eight, but the summary read something about her having nightmares about the dark magic, but it appearing as a black wisp. Then at the end, the filly in the picture's goat changed from purple to white, Blue, it started with the same picture from the start at the age of nine, but the summary read about the girl having visions during the day about the wisp, but this time in the shape of a pony. The end had her but with her mane faded from blue to white. Red, it started with the same picture at the age of ten, the summary read about hallucinations of the dark pony but as a unicorn, the end showed her with eyes changed from red to yellow. Orange, it started with her as eleven, the summary read that she heard the ponies voice sometimes, telling her to do terrible things. The end had her with her hair band switched to black. Yellow, it showed her as twelve, it read that she would have full length conversations with her, the end showed her cutie mark shaded black. “Here's the one that scares me the most."
Black, it started with her as thirteen, she was hanging with a grey pegasus with a red mane and a yellow spot on her muzzle. The summary read of her being possessed and attacking ponies, the end showed her and her friend, but instead of that mare's appearance being altered, the friend's wings were gone, and replaced with mechanical versions of wings. Twilight read over one more entry. Today the wisp I've been troubled by fir six years have finally taken control and Darla has gotten involved in the worst possible way, it's only happened once, but it must never happen again, if I can make more friends the spirt of fear and sadness can finally leave, and nopony can ever be harmed again, but Darla has been injured severely, any other best friends I'd make would probably do the same, no one must know…
“This mare, her mane, her coat, her cutie mark, after the incident she changed her mane and tail style, it's Electra, she's possessed by a spirt that feeds off her fear and sadness from her being alone, when she finally makes a best friend, the creature became threatened and got Electra to hurt Darla. Rainbow Dash is now friends with Electra, she could be in great danger." “So, isn't Electra that new pony that Dash seemed to hit it off with yesterday?" Twilight nodded. “I should warn her before it's too late. Spike picked up the books. “Just take these too, need a bit of evidence." Twilight nodded and picked them up with her magic. “You're right Spike, she may think I'm jealous." Spike laughed, “I better come too, so she won't see you as biased as I've never met the gal." Smiling, Twilight placed Spike on her back and she flew away in search for Rainbow Dash.
On their way they already ran into her. “Hey Twilight! I'm on my way to see Electra." “Yes, Rainbow Dash, tarts actually what I need to talk to you about." “Can you say it later? I'm supposed to meet with her?" “No, this is urgent! We need to talk right now!" Rainbow Dash sighed. “Fine, but make it quick." Twilight sighed with relief and flew down, she told Rainbow Dash what she had read, but Rainbkw Dash didn't believe her. “Electra? A monster? That's nonsense!" “I know that it's hard Dash, but it's true…" “No it's not!" Rainbkw Dash intererupted, “I've known her more than you have!" Spike ran up to her. “No. It's true." “Look, you barely even know her, so if she was some mare possessed by a demon I'd know, so see ya!" In a rage Rainbow Dash stormed off.
Electra found Rainbow Dash at her door, still fuming. “Dash, are you okay?" Rainbow Dash calmed down a bit and sighed. “Electra, are you possessed by a demon?" Electra stood back a bit. “No… what makes you say that…" “Twilight was reading some blank journals and think that they lead to you as the victim." “Journals?" Electra ran around the house, knocking over her journal from Darla. Rainbiw Dash read it. “Secret? Darla? Accident? Is this anything to do with Twilight's predictions?" Rainbow Dash said to herself, “so… she was right about her… but I…" “What are you doing?!" Rainbow looked up and saw Electra facing her looking rather stern. “What is your secret?" Rainbow Dsah picked up the journal. Electra's eye twitched. “Dash, put it down," her voice sounded desperate and pleading. Dash held onto the journal. Then Electra's voice deepened. “Now shouldn't have done that!"
A black mist appeared. It covered Electra. Rainbow Dash watched, unable to move from the shock, she saw Electra trying to resist but the dark magic was too strong. Tears streaming from her eyes Electra utters one more word to Rainbow Dash… “Run…"
As Rainbow Dash shot out of her house, Electra's eyes turned fully black and her voice lowered. She laughed in her distorted, almost robotic voice. “Seems the chase has already become." Rainbow Dash heard and flew away from the town. “If anypony sees her, who knows what they'll do dare do to her! They might run her out of town!" She flew as high and as fast as she could, but she saw the consumed, probably possessed Electra speed through the sky nearly catching up. Minutes past, Rainbow was having a hard time distracting her, she thought that it'd just follow her and maybe wear off, returning Electra to normal.
“Twilight!" Rainbiw Dash decided on an idea, “she knew about Electra's monster form thing, maybe she'll know how to reverse her." She quickly dove down through the sky. “There's a way into the castle through the back, since the castle is at the edge of town, no one will see us, easy as…" Suddenly, Electra tackled Rainbow Dash from the side, smacking into her hips. She ska,med her down into the crystal walls of the castle. Stunned, Rainbiw Dash opened her eyes to see the blacked eyed Electra. As she backed away from her, a black wisp appeared from her and coiled around Rainbow Dash, trapping her with no escape.
Knowing that her victim was unable to leave her magical grasp, Electra grinned and pulled her towards her. “What are you? Plus, why are you doing this to her, and me?" Electra laughed. “My name is Malasia, your friend was kind enough to donate herself so that one day I'll take back my pony firm, I just need to live it out as this wretched thing for another while, and you!" “What about me?" “You being friends with Electra isn't allowing me to feed of her sadness and fear, leaving me no choice but to get rid of her, that Darla twit got away easily with a small loss of her wings, you on the other hoof, will lose something much more, your life…" Rainbiw was too shocked to say anything in response. Malasia laughed once again. “I can feel you shaking, with you gone, Electra will never let go of the guilt, leaving her sad abd fearful that she'd do it again, making the process faster and I'll finally be free and no longer a wretched spirt, say goodnight, Rainbow Dash."
“I'm afraid I won't let you do that Malasia!" Malasia looked up to see Twilight Sparkle standing on top of her castle with her wings spread out. She grabbed the almost inconsistent Rainbow Dash to see her princess friend. “Looks like we have an interruption, so sorry, I'll get back to you after I'm done with her." She made the black wisp completely tie up Rainbow Dash and she flung her to the ground. “Alright Twilight princess, make your move." Twilight flew down in a flash and flew in a circle around Malasia and shot a beam of magic at her. Malasia staggered. “Oh magic, what I miss most about being a unicorn." This taunting angered Twilight and shit her again. “You won't be a unicorn again, you won't overtake Electra and YOU WON'T KILL MY FRIEND!" Twilight shot a huge energy blast that covered Electra. The black eyes slowly faded and Electra slowly fell to the ground, unconscious.
Twilight flew down to Rainbow Dash and used her magic to free the binds that held her and helped her onto her hooves. “Thanks Twily," she blushed, “I'm sorry I didn't believe you about Electra." Twilight smiled. “It's okay Dash, I'm just glad you're alright, if I had arrived one minute later, I don't want to think about what she'd have done to you." Rainbow Dash blushed even harder. “She mentioned something about returning to her ‘pony body'." Twilight nodded. “I know, it's strange, let's go to the library, and I'll get Spike to alert Princess Celestia." As they went inside Rainbow Dash looked at Electra asleep. “What are we going to do with her?" Twilight looked back at her. “We should take her inside with us, so we can keep and eye on her, besides, if this goes anything like the last time, she'll need her friends to help her get through this." “The last time?" “I'll explain inside."
“Malasia said that she was responsible for Drala's lack of wings, so that explains why she has mechanical wings, from what I can gather, she tried to injure her so she'd stay away from Electra because she wanted her to be sad and fearful, why is that?" “I have no idea, but if there's nothing in the library about Malasia then Princess Celestia would probably know." Rainbow Dash sat next to Electra who was still out while Twilight searched her library. “I just don't understand, she's such a nice girl, how can she be so evil." “It's not her, it's Malasia, if Electra was such a good friend she wouldn't try to do what she did." Rainbiw Dash turned to find Spike beside her. “Twilight wants you, I'll take care of the Electra." Rainbkw Dash flew towards Twilight. “Well, how'd your research go?" Twilight sadly shook her head. “I've owned books on a lot of mythical villains and monsters, but Malasia doesn't seem to ring a bell anywhere, we need to ask Celestia."
“RAINBOW DASH! TWILIGHT" Electra yelled as she woke up. This alerted Spike. Electra stared at the purple and green dragon. “Where am I? Who are you?" "I'm Spike, you're in Twilight's castle." Electra looked around the giant room. “Where are they?!" “Calm down, they're okay, Twilight always pulls through, they're just talking about you're evil form." On cue Twolight called out to him. “Spike send a letter!" Spike pulled out a quill and a scroll. “Ready!" “Dear Princess Celestia, I'm afraid to inform that me and my friend Rainbiw Dash have had a recent encounter with an unknown creature, this creature calls herself Malasia and speaks through the body of a pegasus that just moved to town, when this happens she has control of a black magic wisp and turns her eyes completely blank and claims she used to be a unicorn, if we could receive any information if you have any it'd be appreciated, Twilight Sparkle." Spike wrote this all down as Twilight spoke and incinerated it in a puff of green fire. “Why'd you do that?" Electra asked. “That's how I send the letters to the Princess."
Almost instantly, Spike burped another puff of green flames and another scroll appeared. “That was fast." Rainbow Dash said. Twilight nodded. “That can't be good," she read through the letter, “we have to bring Electra to Canterlot with us." Electra heard this and tried to fly away. Rainbiw Dash flew after her and blocked her escape. “Where do you think you're going?" Electra stepped backwards and shook her head. “Well I know for one thing that I'm not going to Canterlot with you two." Twilight teleported in front of her. “Electra, you have to go, no pony ever disobeys Proncess Celestia." Annoyed Electra pushed past her. “Well I guess that makes me the first to do so." “Don't you want to get rid of Malasia?" “No! Hey can't you just leave me alone! You're all better off without me!" Electra broke down crying. A black aura pulsed around her slowly.
“Electra," Twilight lay down beside her, “I know that you feel guilty for what she did to Darla, but you should try and hold yourself together, if we get rid of her then you won't be able to do it again." “Every time someone learns about her, it gets worse, Malasia is powered by fear and sadness, if Celestia finds out she could bring Equestrian into a state of panic for her to feed off of, making her ‘life long goal' easier to accomplish, when she has enough power from the energy, she'll return to her pony body and use her dark magic to trap the citizens of Equestria in fear and sadness." “That's simple, we'll just tell Celestia not to spread panic," Rainbow Dash informed, Electra reluctantly stood up and wiped her eyes. “Darla and I kept this as a secret for around a year." “Hiding your problems won't solve them," Twilight lectured, “it'd even make it worse." Electra sighed. “Fine, if you say so." The black aura died down.
The three boarded on the first train to Canterlot. “Why can't we just fly there Twilight?" Rainbiw Dash asked. “Look, after what Electra did, she feels a bit upset," she whispered hoping Electra can't hear her, “maybe if we take the train, she'd calm down a bit." “I kinda wished we've told the others that we're going here, we're so used to taking down evil as a team, if it wasn't for that thing feeding off fear and panic, espeically with Rarity." Twilight nodded. “I know it's a lot to take in, but you heard what she said, Electra knows more about her than we do, she's dealt with this for seven years, the least we can do is have it sorted before she goes through any more." They turned at Electra who was sitting down looking out the window." Rainbiw Dash sighed. “You're right."
As the sun set, Electra took out her journal and wrote a second entry. Dear Darla, Today was a depressing downfall after the pleasant and joyous day I had experienced yesterday. The before mentioned “new friend" Rainbow Dash and Princess Twilight Sparkle have unfortunately found out about the sectret and she has escaped and she striked, something that I hoped never happem again. We decided to inform Princess Celetia and as I'm writing this we are on our way to Canterlot on the train, my new friends seem to look at me funny, I don't blame them. As much as it pains me that I've broken our promise but maybe it's about time I take action. If this works, the next time we meet I'll be the same as I was over seven years ago. See you soon, Electra.
Electra sighed and closed the journal. She looked at the two, across on the other seat facing her. “So, that journal of yours, you write to Darla? Does she get the messages?" Twilight asked. Electra shook her head. “No, but it makes me feel like as if she's listening sometimes," she rolled her eyes, “why should you care anyway? It's not important!" She shoved the journal into her saddlebags and looked out the window. “What do we do to calm her down?" Rainbow Dash asked Twilight. Twilight sat beside Electra “Do you miss her?" Twilight asked, “Darla." Electra nodded. “I left for her own good, so she'd no longer be in danger. She can finally feel safe." “I know leaving old friends behind van be tough," Rainbkw Dash said to her, “there were one or two people I left when I moved from Cloudsdale, but I can still keep in touch, not often, but they still know that I care about them, I'm sure if you and Darla were as close as you say, you'd two be able to keep in touch somehow."
Electra smiled. “I guess you're right," she yawned, “I should get some sleep." Electra walked not her cabin and slowly shut the door. After she left the two starting to discuss the situation. “Do you think she'll be fine on her own?" Rainbiw Dash asked. Twilight nodded. “I doubt she'll hurt anyone, not unless Malasia is triggered." “What triggered her earlier today?" Twilight thought for a few seconds. “Well, once you found out the secret, she was probably triggered out of fear. She thought that if Celestia found out she'd tel, other ponies, she may have thought you'd have done the same. She reacted the same when Darla found out." “How do you know that? She never told you, she wouldn't tell you." “The journals told me. It also told me that Malasia can speak to her, she to,d her that she chose her for her mission because no one would be her friend. So when she made one she saw her as a threat to her plans and tried to terminate her, she was lucky enough that help came before she could do so, she keeps herself hidden so Electra would be seen as crazy, therefore no one would help her making her even more upset."
“Jeez, this Malasia is kinda sadistic." Twilight nodded in agreement. “What other words would you describe her?" “Cruel, rude and totally insane!" Twilight giggled. “You know that was rhetorical." Rainbow Dash nodded and smiled. “So Celestia's gonna help, she always knows about these ancient monsters that none of us knew about until we encounter their wrath." Twilight sighed. “If she doesn't, I'm sure Electra will cooperate and tell her, maybe she'll then find out about it." “I wouldn't be too sure about that." Twilight looked up at Rainbow Dash. “What do you mean by that?" “When Electra was getting her bags, she was having doubts," Twilight still looked confused, “she said she didn't like the idea of being used in order to catch a monster, like she's a living experiment." “I'm sure she'll understand." “Let's hope."
The morning came. Rainbow Dash walked into Electra's cabin. “We'll be stopping at any minute now. You gotta get up!" Electra sighed and slid out of the bed. “Okay, time to see this princess, we should go quickly before I change my mind." She stood up and walked slowly out of the cabin. “Where's Twilight?" “She's already waiting at the door." The two flew over to meet Twilight. With that the train halted to a stop. “Alright girls, we made it to Canterlot." The three ponies walked out of the train and into the town. The iconic palace stood over them. “Okay, let's just get this with." Electra said as she waltzed into the palace. The other two followed. When they went into the castle they saw Celestia waiting for them.
“There you are, come with me, there's no time to waste!" The three quickly followed Princess Celestia into the hallway with the stained glass windows. “Princess Celestia, do you know about Malasia?" The big white alicorn princess nodded and walked down the hall. “Malasia was a former student of mine, she came even before Sunset Shimmer and yourself, a young unicorn who was corrupted by her interest in dark magic, it was a dark time for Equestria when most ponies were sad and afraid, she sought to feed off the energy to become the most powerful unicorn in existence and one day surpass even my own abilities, but the dark magic got to her and her motives changed instead of ridding the negativity she decided to use it to rule. Using our magic, my sister and we had no choice but to have her magic terminated and her body changed to a mist to forever roam the land. It seems she has found a way to feed off some pony's negativity to one day return to her pony body and take her revenge." “Looks like she found a pony." Celestia turned to the three and noticed that the third pony wasn't usually with the two. “Princess Celestia, this is Electra, for the last seven years Malasia has fed off her negativity and sometimes takes her over and has the potential to harm other ponies."
“Malasia's dark magic can have the ability to posses and drain their pony nature to become psychically and magically stronger, it's most likely that all these years while Electra was under her control she has been slowly feeding off her, if this continues much longer, I'm afraid we won't be able to stop her and it could be too late for Electra." “So, if Malasia isn't stopped, Electra I'll be…" Celestia nodded. Rainbow Dash flew towards Celestia. “What are we waiting for? We need to stop it!" “Celestia, is there a way we can get rid of Malasia but make sure that she can't harm another pony again?" “I'm afraid the only way we could do that is rid Malasia from Electra, the we must rid Malasia of her magic." “Can we do that?" Twilight asked. Celestia thought for a moment. “It is the easiest and quickest option, and Malasia has been at this for seven years than she could escape at any moment." “No!" They looked and saw Electra behind them.
“You're going to use your magic on me, what am I just a machine that needs to be fixed?!" A black aura pulsed around her again. This caused to her fall over on the ground she clutched her head and groaned. She shook and stuttered. “I-I-I can't control myself!" “Princess Celestai!" Rainbow Dash yelled over a giant ringing noise. “It's happening again, but her transformation is much more violent than when it happened yesterday!" “As this happened two days in a row Malasia is trying harder to escape from Electra, we must use the spell now. I will cast the spell, one of you should stay by Electra." Twilight looked at Rainbow Dash. “You go to her, she trusts you." Rainbiw Dash nodded and slowly edged towards her. As she edged closer the noise got louder and her vision blurred. “Electra, hold onto my hoof!" Electra slowly looked up and slowly held on. “Please Dashie…" her eyes darkened, “make this nightmare go away…"
“Celestia! The spell!" The princess nodded and flew up and conjured a yellow magic beam that hit Electra. The entire room felt like it was shaking and the noise grew louder. “The spell will be complete soon, I just need another pony to help, Twilight!" Twilight nodded and flew up to join Princess Celestia in the soell. The room became so blurredthat they can only see colours and the whole room became shrouded in one giant buzz. Then seconds later Princess Celestia and Twilight flew back down. Rainbow Dash helped Electra up. “How do you feel?" She shook her head a bit. “I'm fine, just a bit dizzy…" Then the whole room turned black and she couldn't see or hear anypony around. “Hello Electra. How do I look?" Electra turned around and saw her… “Malasia!"
She saw a black unicorn with a neon pink and black mane in two pigtails, she had yellow eyes, a skull cutie mark and grey freckles on her nose. “It's been years since I saw myself like this, I don't know about you but I look great." “How dare you!" Electra charged towards Malasia but passed right through, “why are you so… transparent?" Malasia smirked. “Well, wouldn't you like to know, when your precious princesses cast the spell, they forgot to get rid of the whole me, there is still some of me left within you, now I just need to get you alone so I can use my magic on you." “I'll never let you do that! Do you think I'm stupid!" “I thought you'd say that… I'll meet you back in PonyVille, see you at home, you'll have a little company…" With that Malasia disappeared and Electra returned to the castle hallway.
“She's gone! Malasia disappeared!" Princess Celestia paced the hallway. “Where could she possibly go?" “She's in PonyVille! I met her!" Electra yelled, “I must go back!" “I'll come too, if there's a monster to take down, I am there!" Rainbkw Dash flew up and out with Electra. "Don't worry Celestia, when we find her I'll finish the spell for you." Twilight reassured Princess Celestia nodded. “Good luck, I'm certain you will prevail, to save Equestria once more." Twilight saluted and followed her friends. “How did you see Malasia, we didn't see her." Rainbow Dash asked. “I had a vision, the spell hasn't been completed and there's some of her still inside of me." Twilight was confused. “Why are you going back to her then? Can't we just take care of her?" “I know, but, Im just staying close in case she decides to hurt anypony else."
They stopped at Twilight's Castle. “The doors are open! What's going on?" Twilight looked worried and flew inside the castle, the other two followed. “This place is a total mess!" Twilight stood still in shock that her castle was ransacked. Rainbow Dash then heard something and saw a familiar purple dragon lying on the ground. “Spike!" Twilight zoomed towards him and picked him up, “what happened?" Spike couldn't say anything, “Who did this?" Rainbow Dash asked. “Malasia!" The two looked at Electra. “She's doing this to you as payback for ratting her out to Celestia, no doubts the same will be for you too Dashie." “What?!" Rainbow Dash dashed off. “Twilight, you stay with Spike, he needs you right now, I'll follow Dashie to see if my prediction was correct." With that she flew off too.
“How dare she!" Rainbow flew around her home that was torn upside down. Then she remembered. “Where's Tank?" Then a tortoisee slowly walked towards her. “You're okay! But how?" Tank demonstrated by hiding his head and limbs into his shell. “Now I understand why she's doing this." Rainbow turned towards her. “She wants me to feel guilty for this mess that she caused." “You shouldn't it wasn't even you that did that." “I know, I won't let her get to me at all." Rainbow Dash sighed. “It's gonna take ages to clean this up, I don't have magic!" “You take care, there's someone I need to meet." She flew out of Rainbow Dash's house and headed for Cloudsdale
“Darla!" She searched the empty house. “C'mon, you must come with me, no time to explain." Then everything turned black again. “So nice to see you again." Electra turned. “Malasia!"
Electra took a deep breath. “I can't let her get to me, I must stay calm," she thought. “How did you know I was heading here?" Electra asked. “I've been inside you fir seven years, I just know." “Why are you here anyways? I already refused to help you. So what do you want?" “I'm here to make a deal." “A deal?" Malasia nodded and smirked that made Electra nervous. “I know you won't except money or anything, but there is one thing that you'll never resist." Electra then came to a realisation. “Where's Darla?" Malasia giggled. “Let's just say, she wanted to pay you a little visit, how about I race you back to the house." Electra ran towards her but she disappeared. The black vanished and as quickly as she could she flew down back to the ground.
She slammed the door of her house open and she searched, she had already knew Malasia had beat her to it. The inside of the house was an empty black abyss. She saw a white light and walked towards it. She looked around what used to be her home, where she would have spent the rest of her life, turned into a death trap. “Darla?" she called into the black,it echoed, but off no surface and she kept running towards the light. Electra looked back at where she came, but she could no longer look outside, she was at the point of no return. Then she heard a voice coming from the light. “Electra! Help me!" Electra immediately regognised the voice as Darla's and ran towards it, then she saw the black transition into white and then into a whole different room altogether. This room was now a room made of stone, almost cell looking. Then she saw Darla. She ran towards her, but was surprised to hear. “Stay back!"
“Darla? It's me, Electra." “You need to go, you need to leave right now, before she gets you." “Okay, come with me then, you'll be safe." Darla looked at the ground. “I can't do that." “Why not?" “She has me, she's using me to get you…" Then Malasia appeared beside Darla. Malasia giggled. “My my, you talk a lot, time you take a rest dear." Malasia used her black wisps to tie up Darka and place one over her mouth so she couldn't speak. “Leave Darla alone!" Electra charged towards Darla to try and free her. “If id let you free her I wouldn't go through the trouble of tie in her up, oh well, guess I'll have to do the same thing to you." She then tied up Electra too,
Unable to escape Electra cried out. “What do you want from her?!" “It's not what I want from her, it's what I want to use her to get what I want from you," she knelt beside Electra, “the piece of me that still resides in you." “I said no! When will you get it out of your head?" Malasia sudden,y picked up a knife using her magic. “I've always wanted to finish the job I never hit to do to dear Darla, maybe this'll finally be the perfect opportunity. Shall we?" Electra gasped. “You're a fucking monster! You wouldn't even dare do that!" Malasia giggled again. “Just watch me," she slashed Darla down the side of her face, “so what'll it be?" Electra felt like crying, but did t want to show her weakness. “Fine, I'll do it, as long as you release Darla!" Malasia grinned. “Thats great, she walked towards Darla, knife in hand. “I said big to touch her!" Malasia sighed. “I'm a mare of my word, I wouldn't back out on a promise." She used the knife to cut Darla's bindings. “Now it's time for Darla to go!" Darla rushed to Electra. “Don't do this she'll kill you…" “Get out Darla!" Electra demanded, “i don't want you to get hurt!" Darla stood still. “No!" Malasia sighed. “Fine! I'll kick you out myself!" Using her magic she transported Darka outside the house.
“Now that that's out of the way, it's time for the main event. Electra groaned as Malasia skipped around her giggling with glee, “seven years ive waited for this, now the time has finally come! Hold still, or else this is going to hurt way more than it should." With that Malasia shot a beam of black magic from her horn that consumed Electra. Electra cried out. Malasia was right, it did hurt, she felt like she was being torn in half. The black aura from before drained out of her eyes and left her, this aura was consumed by Malasia. She dumped Electra on the ground and giggled again histericaly. Electra shook all over as she attempted to stand up as the magic released her binds. “You had your fun, now let me go now!" Malasia thought. “Nah, where's the fun in taking your energy and just leave you here, I have a better idea." Using her returned dark magic she encased Electra in a clear black caccoon like trap. Electra could see through from the inside at Malasia who was grinning like a filly in a candy store.
“This contraption of mine I call a draining cell, the function is simple really, I can trap anypony I want in here and over time it drains the pony's life energy which will be transferred to its creator, like myself, and once it's done you'll just die. It's fairly slow and painful, but if it wasn't it wouldn't be fun at all, at least for me." With that she skipped off giggling. Electra felt that pain again, like she was being stripped of all colour in her body. She looked down and saw that the bottom of her hind hooves were becoming grey. Electra sighed. “How could I be so stupid as to think a student of dark magic wasn't going to fuck me over, her promise never said she'd let me go too. What the fuck was I thinking?" As they greyness traveled up her body and painting her cutie mark grey she eyes drooped. “Now Equestria is going to fall victim to Malasia, and it's all my fault…" She squeezed her eyes shut and gritted her teeth as the pain traveled halfway through her body, it was slowing bug was undoubtily going to eventually paint her completely grey without any colour left and she'll surely die. “I'm sorry I let you down guys…" The pain became too much for Electra and she passed out.
