“She had to be hit with a sleeping spell so we transport her here,” Sonata sounded weak, and depressed as she told the owner what was going on. “Her father died in the battle against Chrysalis, and he told me in his will that I needed to follow my dreams and support our daughter. I can’t bring her everywhere when I perform, she needs stability, so I am leaving her in your care. If someone adopts her tell them about the account I made for her.”

“Yes Mrs. Slayer,” replied the mare.

“Thank you, and if you need any help go to Twilight Sparkle,” Sonata spoke quietly. “She will know what to do. I have to go now. Bye”
_____Three Days Later_____

“Momma,” cried out Emotion Breaker as she lay in her bed, tears flowing freely down her cheek. Her body sore from sobbing and not moving from where she lay in a small bedroom. It had a bed, desk, window, pencils, paper, and a small lamp. The walls were a light gray color, and she just laid there and decided to try and go outside to play. Getting up, she stretched for a couple of minutes before grabbing her tape-player from her saddlebag. Wiping away her tears and fixing her mane Emotion walked out of the room.

“Hello Emobreaker,” came a soft voice from a young mare with a long, flowing black mane and tail with dark grey fur, her cutie-mark was a heart with a horseshoe inside it. “My name is Caring Heart, and this is the Ponyville Orphanage.” She smiled gently and got up from her seat in the living room. “There are apples, carrots, lettuce, and tomatoes in the fridge, and bread on the counter. You are free to eat when you’re hungry, and go outside to play. So long as you let me know when the food is running low, and if you’re outside that you play nicely with any of the fillies and colts you make friends with. Also, you must come in before the streetlights come on at night. Other than that you can play for as long as you like.”

“Thank you Caring,” Emobreaker said as she pulled out a carrot with her mouth. “I should be back in a few hours.” Trotting down the hall to the door Emo opened the door. She didn’t really know what she was going to do, but she kept to a steady walk chewing on her carrot. ‘Maybe I should go to the Everfree Forest. It doesn’t scare me, and I want to explore.’ She thought to herself as she was walking towards the forest. After some time wandering around in the brush and trotting through the trees Emo heard a whining noise from further into the Everfree. ‘That sounded like a hurt animal,’ she hurried in the direction of the noise, her sense of hearing heightened by using her magic. The whine sounded again; a little closer and to the left side where a patch of briars sat surrounded by trees. Emotion crouched low, peeking through the briar patch she saw a black and red wolf in the center.

The wolf whimpered and tried to move out from the briar patch. Emotion lit up her horn so she could see it better, and with the gentle glow the wolf took the time to look at Emo assessing her features. After a few minutes the wolf calmed down, and kept staring at her. Almost as if his, ‘Wait. How do I know it’s a boy’, calmness was linked to her calm and brave mind.

“I’m going to get you out of there buddy. Ok?” Emotion smiled as the wolf barked a short low note in reply. “Good.” Quick as she could she focused on the spell needed to summon a short sword, and when she had it summoned started to carefully cut her way through the patch until she got to the little wolf cub. He immediately ran up to Emotion and started to lick her muzzle.

A voice popped into her head, “Hello, my name is Abbadon. I’ve been stuck in that for a few days.” He stopped and looked at Emotion as an ancient magic began to pulse between them. “You are the pony I have been searching for since I could walk. I was already linked to your mind, but I needed you to save me from the briar patch. Right now though I need some medical attention. Can you take me to the yellow pegasus near the edge of the forest closer to town?”

“Yes,” Emo replied and picked him up in her magic so she could place him on her back.” I have to check in with Caring and let her know I’ll be out later.” Abbadon only nodded and tightened his hind legs for grip on her back with that she took off at a canter back through the forest to the orphanage. She quickly opened the door and trotted straight over to Caring Heart.

“Emobreaker, why is there a wolf cub on your back,” asked Caring Heart.

Emotion shifted from hoof to hoof, “He is Abbadon, my companion. The one that I was bonded to at birth, and right now he needs medical attention. I was coming to tell you that I am going to take him over to the Element of Kindness’, Fluttershy’s, home so she can help him get better.”

Caring Heart’s eyes went wide as she nodded unhesitantly, “Go to her place Emobreaker. I’ll send her a note telling her you’re on your way to her place.” With one final glance around Emotion wrapped a magical band around Abbadon to keep him on her back, her horn flaring to life again as she did a spell for increased speed.

“Thank you Caring,” with that Emotion bolted out the door her hooves carrying her quickly through the Everfree in the direction of Fluttershy’s home. After about ten minutes on nonstop running Emotion arrived at Fluttershy’s door. ‘Just in time,’ she thought to herself. ‘The spell had just worn off.’

“Come in,” came a soft voice. Turning the knob with her hoof Emotion removed the magical band from around Abbadon and herself. Slowly Abbadon pushed the door open with his uninjured paw. "Oh... my," came Fluttershy's whisper. "H-how did you get a wolf?"

"He's my companion," Emotion replied. "His name is Abbadon, and I found him just today in the Everfree. He's hurt and I was hoping you can help him." Abbadon limped forward and showed her these deep scratches that ran up his flanks and shoulders.

"Aww. Poor little cub, of course I'll help you," she turned to Emotion. "What is your name? If I am to help I must know you in some way."

"My name is Emotion Breaker Slayer, but everypony calls me Emobreaker," answered Emotion. Fluttershy walked over to Emotion and put a wing around her and gave her a small hug.

"Well ok," said Fluttershy as she walked over to Abbadon. "So it's your sides and shoulders Abbadon?" He bobbed his head once and she took him further into her living room, Angel and a few others backed away from him as Fluttershy led him past them.

Abbadon's voice popped into my head. ''Tell them I don't kill animals, please. I only eat what everything else eats. Fruits, vegetables, bread, and all that dairy." I told them and Fluttershy looked at me quizzically

"How did you do that Emobreaker," she asked.

"He can telepathically speak to me," Emotion answered, and she giggled.

"Oh. Ok," she replied. "I didn't know that was the kind of bond you have with him, so will he ever speak with words?"

"Yes Fluttershy, but he's not one to talk until he gets around ponies more." Emotion stood there and watched Fluttershy as she put some bandages that, as Emotion had noticed, been enchanted with healing spells on Abbadon's cuts.

"He should be ok," Fluttershy said quietly. "After three days he should be doing just perfect. Bring him around any time if he gets injured again." I nodded walking up to her and giving her a hug as Abbadon licked her forehoof.

"C'mon Abbadon," Emotion called out to the wolf cub as she headed for the door. "You ready to head off or do you want to stay at Fluttershy's?" He didn't hesitate to run up to the door and find a way he could open it. He then stood there and held it open for Emo.

Once we were outside Abbadon spoke, "can we just walk? I don't really want to travel 'light speed' again." I nodded as we continued to travel along the path out to Ponyville to make quicker and safer ways to the orphanage.
