> Forever Always > by StoryBrushes > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sombra’s life was planned out for him from day day he was born into his family. He was to inherit his fathers dark magic and rule over the Crystal Empire. He was to be married to his father's good friend’s daughter exactly 3 weeks from that moment. Until two weeks before. It was mid July when he laid eyes on her. Glowing pink mane. Sparkling rosy pink eyes. Snow white coat, belonging to such a graceful pony. He saw her from over bridge across the falls, but with another pony, a dark blue pegasus mare who hopped along with her wherever she went. He knew at once he must meet her - alone. ************************************************************************** We weren't supposed to meet We weren't supposed to fall in love It wasn't supposed to end like this When the dark stallion approached the fair alicorn on the forest ground of the palace she knew at once he was one of the nobles of the crystal empire. Her first instinct was to yelp for help but stood her ground - just staring. “Hi. C-can i h-help you?” she squeaked out. “Wow.” was his only response as her pink mane covered her when she blushed fiercely at the ground. “What.” she laughed out. “I'm called Sombra.” he said confidently not averting his eyes for a second. “My name is Celestia but everyone calls me Tia.” she said, still smiling at the ground. > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Where are you taking me?” Tia laughed. “Its a surprise my dear” Sombra smiled. They weaved through the forest and crossed the bridge over the falls. The ground started to drop and the elevation got lower and lower. Finally there was a small tunnel covered with vines from the tree on top of it. Sombra led Tia through the tunnel which opened to a large crystal cave behind the falls that over looked Equestria at the sunset. it was a dark violet with tinted rose on the very top and a crimson in the middle. “Sweet Galaxia, Sombra…” her voice trailed off it was distracted by the stunning view. “I used to come here by myself when i was just a filly to think.” he spoke, “ Its ours now.” Tia’s eyes were now directed at his, as they gazed into each others. “Sombra, this isn't right we have spent two weeks together and grown closer and closer but you are getting married tomorrow, married.” her eyes tearing up. “Yes,” staring at the ground, “But, i don't know her - or love her.” now directly looking into his lovers eyes. “Oh, sombra…” tears now slowly streaming down her face as she could not tell if they were happy or sad. sombra wiped her tears as she lay on him and watched the sun fall and the moon rise. ***************************************************************************** As the sun once again rose up to its power, Tia woke to found that she was alone. At the table she found a note: Tia, If you are awake by now don't worry I haven't left you -I would never. I went out to get some berries and honey for breakfast (maybe bread if i am lucky). I promise I won't steal anything again. Be back soon, Sombra Tia let out a sigh of relief as she got out some herbs to eat from. Guards burst in through the vines, around 10 of them, as a few carried sombra but a long stream of blood trailed his face from his forehead to his chin. “SOMBRA!” Tia screamed at the top of her lungs. She cantered to him but the guards held her back, and grabbed her. “Sombra! Sombra please wake up!” she yelled out. “Let go of me you dirty little rat, you all work for me and i am commanding you to LET GO OF BOTH OF US” she boomed. “Miss we need you to quiet down. These orders come from higher than you.” said the guard who looked in charge. “HELP SOME PONY PLEASE HE-“ That was the last thing Tia said before she felt a surging crack on the back of her skull and was knocked out. > Chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Celestia regained her conciseness she sees the hearty fireplace the soft quilt on her back the grand room and mahogany bed she was on. She was in her room. Her head pounded, her neck aches and her left forearm was tightly bandaged, but the only thing she could thing of was sombra. SOMBRA Tia tried to take the covers off herself with her one good arm but her hooves were tied. Bloody fools She thought as she tore the covers off with her magic and undid the knot on her hooves. It wouldn't budge. The knot stayed sturdy and the covers laid on her. When she realized that someone put a lock spell on her horn. She pulled on the rope and tried to hope it would cut with her hooves but never. She pulled and pulled in the dark of the room when it started down her forearm. it felt a long dark snake, cold and wet slithering down her arm and was the first time she had ever had it. Blood. Suddenly a talk white allcorn opened the doors. She had a long flowing orange-violet main and her coat sparkled like the galaxy. It was Celestia’s mother, Queen Galaxia. “Oh my gosh mother. What a relief can you help me with these knots they are tearing my coat, badly” Tia said comfortably Her mother only stared at her with a slight shine in her eyes. “Mother what are you standing there for, come help me” having a slight concern in her voice. What is she just standing there for “Oh Tia. Do you know what you have gotten yourself into?” Queen Galaxia said sincerely as a single crystal blue tear ran the side of her face. Her blue magic wrapped around a piece of cloth as she gently wiped the blood from her daughters forearm then around the source of the wound. “Mother you don’t understand Sombra he-he could be hurt…. badly.” she said with a quiver in her voice. “Don’t you worry my little pony he is in good hooves. Now rest my filly, you need it.” Galaxia closed the curtains on the windows then shut the door quietly. Tia couldn’t help but feel tired as her eyelids were getting heavy and forearm giving out the strength to restraint against the ropes. As she drifted to sleep she awoke in a dark cave. > Chapter 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sombra awoke with a pounding headache and chocolates at his hooves. He pounced up and looked around at his surroundings and found hazel floors a gold four poster bed and a marble fire place with a sophisticated sitting area around it. He new at once where he was but didn't want to believe it. The large heavy wooden door creaked open as he feared what he saw. Princess Adair Chrysalis Daughter of King Alastair and Queen Florence rulers of the Equine Empire bordering Canterlot over the Crystal Bridge. “Sombra, thee awoke,” Chrysalis said soothingly ,”I got thee a wedding present, hoping to give it to thee after the ceremony but you didn't come…”she trailed off, trying not to get angry and instead distracting herself. “No worries for I have taken care of the matter myself. The ceremony shall be tonight and all of the Equine Empire shall attend!”she grinned with enjoyment and had a glimmer in her eye “It will be perfect, just with the colt I love…” her eyes now directly looking at his waiting for a response. “Chrysalis, I need you to tell me, who took me here.” Sombra said calmly Chrysalis averted her eyes looking at the ground now and didn't respond. Tia could be hurt…I need to get out of here before 3pm which gives me exactly three hours. “Fine. You shall not need to tell me.” Sombra said turning his head. “Sombra, don’t do this to me, father said I must n-“ she covered her mouth with her hooves as she tried to stop herself. “Its ok my darling, now I am having a change in heart for I am quite famished may we eat or is this time too early for you?” he said convincingly. “Oh my darling anytime is perfect for you.” she said with a massive smile trailing her face. “I should take a quick shower. I would not want you parents to see me in this state, I shall be down to the dinning hall in 10 minutes.” Sombra turned his back and headed towards the suite trying not to pinch himself for lying to her face. Once Sombra shut the door, without hesitating he opened the window and jumped. Forgetting the palace was situated on top of the crystal waterfall. Probably not the best decision. > Chapter 4 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Celestia advanced, she found herself on a dirt trail surrounded by dense forest around her. In sight was a dark cavern with a light. Once in the cave she found a light in the center of the room coming from a rusted gold tablet. Her eyes caught sight of two red dots as they got bigger and bigger and a dark calling laugh started. “You thought you could get away from me.” It said slowly. Suddenly Luna appeared in the corner screaming. “WAKE UP TIA! WAKE UP NOW!” ********************************************** Celestia bolted up in her bed with sweat drawing her face, eyes a crimson red and main in bush. She pulled the cover off herself with her muzzle and called a guard requesting for her mother. “Mother its 10:30 am I allowed to eat with you?” Tia asked. “Yes darling of course you were only on restrain last night because you father was worried about your health.” Galaxia said with a sadness in her eyes. Two guards entered the room untying her, with a slight nod from her mother they vanished. Tia bolted across the room and through the hallways making it to the door to exit when her mother flashed infront of her. “Tia wait yo-“ but galaxia was cut off with Tia cantering to use the other exit. “Tia where are you going.” with a sad but questioning voice her mother announced. “To see Sombra, I will not stop till I find him.” Tia said looking straight into the deep violet eyes of the alicorn behind her. “Darling you can’t” “Why mother. Why cant I. Tell me right here and right now. From the moment I woke up I knew something was wrong, what is it.” “My sweet pony, there are things that will destroy you and I can’t bear t-“ “IF I CAN HANDLE MY OWN FAMILY TYING ME AWAY AT THIS POINT I CAN HANDLE ANYTHING!” Tia screamed. “He’s dead Tia. He is dead.” “W-what” with a quiver in her voice. Tia slowly backing up towards the open gates. “No. Your lying to me that as all. You just want me to stay away from him. Well guess what? Its not. Going. To .Work.” Tia bolted out the door not even looking back as two guards chased her but her mother held them back. “Let her go. She needs time to come back to the real world.”
