> Canterlot High - A Magical Place > by Rayli > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 - It's Magic! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt doesn't believe in magic at all, but he wishes it was real. His life was full of happiness and everything was alright, until he reached his second year of high school (yes, the Human 5 are in their 2nd year). Ever since the death of his parents, he was a bit depressed, and decided to leave the city. Of course, they'd left money for him, and he decided to move to a new city, to start fresh, get away from the rest of the world. Sort of. He just needed to start all over, everything. Hence, he was in Canterlot. There were a plethora of schools to choose from, but he decided to choose Canterlot High, because it had the highest graduation rate in the city (94%). And so, our story starts off with Matt, just on the Sunday before school. Talking to the only friend he has in Canterlot City: Ash, who'd moved there, two years ago. He was probably the main reason why he'd moved to Canterlot. Actually, he was. "Yeah, I got this pretty sweet part-time job. It's epic, man!" Ash had bragged to Matt, who was surprisingly interested in his new job. Matt wanted to know whether or not this would benefit him, so he asked Ash to elaborate on the situation. "So... where is this new job?" Matt asked, eager to see whether it benefited him. "It's at GameStart" Ash replied, left unsurprised at his reaction. Of course, Matt would want some kind of Video Game, or even better, a console. It was a good thing for both of them that Ash had this job. "And the discounts are okay, too. I get a 15% Discount, mi amigos get a 10% discount". Ash had informed him. To Matt, any discount was good enough. A $60 game turned into a $54 Dollar game, a $500 Dollar console turned into a $450 dollar console, so it was all in good... savings. "Enough about me, however. What school are you going to?" Ash asked, his turn to be eager at the answer he wanted. Unfortunately for him, he did not get his answer. "Canterlot High. I'm transferring, so there's bound to be some confusion, no matter how big. I do hope there's magic there. It'd be a lot of fun, casting spells and stuff. You know what I mean?" Matt eagerly said, hoping to get what he wanted. Little did he know, he'd be getting what he wanted, and more than he wanted. A little too much. "Magic? Whatever, Harry Potter" Ash said, teasing Matt, who felt a certain way about that series. "You know I don't feel enthusiastic about the magic in that series; casting spells with wands. It would mean that the magic is embedded in the wand, or at least, the wand is the only way to use the magic in a usable-" Matt started, but was cut off by Ash, who didn't really care. "Whatever man. Oh, crap! It's my shift!" Ash cried. Matt was surprised, seeing as he didn't normally take day shifts. "I thought your shift was from 5:00-8:00." Matt questioned, oblivious to why he was going from 11:00-2:00. "Thomas is sick today, so I have to hold down both shifts. It sucks, but they're paying me..." Ash thought for a moment, trying to remember how much he was getting "150%! Basically, 50% more than usual." Ash finished his train of thought, not allowing it to escape his mind. Ash left the store, leaving Matt to wonder what he would be doing from 11:21, to the rest of the day. A sextet of girls had came into the store, talking about some object, or person named Sunset... something. He couldn't really make heads or tails of anything, but decided to get another drink. Perhaps a Vanilla Swirl. Sugarcube Corner was the best place to go for beverages. He got in line behind one of the girls, an orange-tan girl with a hat on her head. He waited in line, and out of boredom, continued to listen in on their conversation. It hadn't even piqued his interest until he heard the word magic, where his eyes opened, and started to listen for real. He didn't believe it, of course, but could these girls share a passion of magic? He was very interested to find out, seeing as he had only one friend, Ash, who wasn't even there often. And from the looks of it, wouldn't be seeing Ash much, since they both go to different schools. For now, he was interested in these girls (as potential friends), and prayed they went to Canterlot High. He would just have to find out tomorrow, at the thing called... Spring Fling? No! it was the middle of fall... ah! The Fall Formal, there we go. Strange to have a dance as early as November, but, I guess things differ. For now, he'd just have to wait. ---6:00 A.M. The Next Day--- "*Groans*... does it have to be 7:00 already?" Matt cried, reluctantly getting up, but doing what must be done. He got up, ate a bowl of cereal, took a shower, got dressed, washed the dishes, and was ready to leave. When he looked at the time, to see if he would be late, he face palmed himself, mentally and literally. It said 6:36. He had about 44 minutes before he could leave. So, to pass the time, he looked at some of the code in his modification (mod) he'd done before. It looked good, and only consumed a good 14 minutes. Great. A 1/2 hour left, and he still had no idea what to do. He played a game on his phone, but got bored of it. When he checked the time, it said 6:58 A.M., and so he decided, eh, get there 12 minutes early. Because why not, right? And so, he left the comfort of his house, which he wished he didn't have to, and arrived at the school. When he got there, he saw a purple girl at the entrance, telling him that she was going to tour him around the school. He wishes that he could get it all over with, but mid-tour, he suddenly realizes that she was the girl he'd seen at the shop. Instantly, he wanted to ask her so many questions, but knew he had to keep it on an all-time low. He could have had his answers right here, but had to suppress himself. Against his own will, he asked her a question, making the tension even odder. "So... magic, huh?" He asked, wondering what he would get as his response. He didn't exactly get the response he was looking for, but it was a response nonetheless. "Hehe, what about it?" The purple girl nervously asked him, suspecting he knew something. To her surprise, he did indeed know something. "Well... yesterday, at the coffee shop... I mean, Sugarcube Corner, I overheard you girls say something about magic... you like Magic books too? You like the belief of Magic?" Matt said, realizing he'd screwed up any chances at friendship in this new place. Oh well, he guessed. He didn't really care at this point. "You believe in magic?" The purple girl asked him, and to her relief, he shook his head. "I wish it was real, though. That'd be epic!" Matt said, starting to daydream about magic. "Oh, I never caught your name! Mine's Twilight!" The purple girl said, happy to make new friends. "You can't catch names, Twilight. I mean, my name is Matt!" Matt replied, hoping she'd catch the humor he threw out there. To his disappointment, she didn't get it. "Now, about that tour?" Twilight said. And so, she showed him around the school, the science labs, the classrooms, the hallways, pretty much everything, until she finally got the gym, where her friends were. Twilight was eager for her friends to meet Matt. Matt, however, wasn't exactly eager to meet them. Right now, all he wanted to do was play a Video Game, or work on some more code. Unfortunately, that was going to be the least extraordinary thing to happen him (usually, it's the most extraordinary thing that happens to him). > Chapter 2 - A Date for the Dance > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "And so, this is the gym, where my friends are currently. Would you like to meet them?" Twilight asked, Matt unsure of what he should answer. He'd recently moved to Canterlot, and started attending Canterlot High, and already, someone was trying to be his friend. From his past experiences, he wasn't sure if she was being 100% honest. Either way, it looked like he wouldn't have a choice. He agreed to see Twilight's friends, knowing it's something that he'll regret. "Fine. Let's make it quick." Matt said, wanting to get this over with. Twilight didn't appreciate his attitude, but she would have to put up with it anyway. "Howdy, Twilight. Ah reckon that's the new kid yer showing around?" Applejack asked her, only wanting to know for the sake of knowing. "Yes, Applejack. I thought it'd be great for him to meet my friends, and to make some here at-" Twilight started, but was rudely cut off by Matt. "I. Don't. Need. Friends." Matt rudely said, denying the chance to even be introduced to the ladies. "Ah reckon you won't get any with that attitude" Applejack said, almost as a comeback to his being rude to Twilight. "Yeah! Friends are awesome!" Rainbow Dash added on to Applejack, furthering Twilight and Applejack's point. "Dear, you won't have any with such an act towards friendship." Rarity commented. "Yeah! Friends are lots of fun!" Pinkie Pie added, being the last one to add anything. "Whatever. I'm just trying to get through high school, learn a bit about code, science and mathematics, then be done with it." Matt replied, shooting down all of their offers. "I used to be like you; I had no friends, and I didn't want to make any. Then I learned how magical friendship can be." Twilight said, hoping to convince him to become their friend. Unfortunately for her, it didn't work at all. "I have a friend. That's pretty much all I need!" Matt said, starting to be annoyed by their reaching out towards him. "Don't you think you should always be making more?" Pinkie Pie asked him, attempting again. "What's worth more? 1000 friends who don't really mean anything, or 1 friend who's your best friend?" Matt asked her, pushing heavy things upon her, metaphorically, of course. And with that, Matt dismissed himself from the gymnasium. And so, it was time for lunch, seeing as the bell rung. He opened the door, not knowing what to expect. However, it seemed pretty average to him. And so, he got his lunch, and sat down at a table by himself. He just ate his lunch, and starting to think about Black Holes, and whether normal Vacuums (scientific vacuums) were miniature black holes or not, and whether they sucked in light. He thought about this for a while, until the 5 girls he saw earlier were banging their trays onto the table in some sort of rhythmic pattern. He didn't even know what to think of it, until somewhere, somehow, music started playing, and they were all suddenly... moving around the Cafeteria, and singing. Did this happen all the time in this school? Hell, how should he know. He just continued to think about Science. ---Later(Fixing the Gym, when Snips/Snails ruined it)--- Matt walked by the gym, and noticed that people were fixing it. Something must have had happened, but he was starting to wonder... what the hell had happened? He wasn't in the mood to find out, but he helped out anyway. He had no plans after school, so he saw no reason not to. He started to help the others clean up the gym, when the pink-haired girl he'd saw earlier had went up to him. She had continuously bothered him, until he urged to talk. Matt, however, didn't mind her bothering him. She was the closest thing to a friend right now, and he realized that, utterly admitting defeat. "I... admit defeat." Matt had said, realizing it was fun to be around her. "Huh?" Pinkie asked, wondering... why had he said that? Did he want to be her friend? "You're fun to be around. I admit defeat. Would you like to be my friend, Pink Haired Girl?" Matt said, expecting her to deny him. He was used to denial. Denial and loss. "Sure! Sounds like a lot of fun!" Pinkie Pie had said, really happy to be his friend. Shortly after, the Mane 6 (except Pinkie) found Matt and Pinkie, and promptly attempted to leave Matt alone. "Come on Pinkie! I'm sorry for her bothering you, dear" Rarity said, but the answer she got was immensely different than the one she expected to get. "Nah, it's cool! She's fun to be around!" Matt said, surprising everybody. "Wow, I never thought I'd hear those words come out of your mouth" Rainbow had said, not easing the new tension at all. Everyone, even Matt, had stared at Rainbow Dash as if she just said Gravity made people fall up. A reaction no one was expecting from her, Applejack face palmed. And so, the rest of the 2 hours was spent fixing up the gym, and getting to know Matt more. Eventually, the gym was all fixed up, and they all had to get ready for their "Big Night", and so they went to the Carousel Boutique. Rarity had dresses for all of them, except for Matt, of course, who just stood there. "Well, have fun at your big night!" Matt said, turning, ready to leave. "You're not coming with us, dear?" Rarity asked, hoping to hear that he was. "Nope. I've got coding to do." Matt said, eager to get back to his life's work. Or... what he wishes was his life's work. Unfortunately, it wasn't. He wasn't getting paid for it at all. "If she were to have an outfit ready for you, would you go?" Applejack said, and Rarity caught on. "Sure. But she probably doesn't even-" Matt started, but stopped after Rarity pulled out an outfit. He couldn't get out of it. Until he found a solution, that is. "Ha! I found a way to get out of it! I'm not going without a date, so I'll see you all later-" Matt started, happy with himself, for making a loophole. "You can just go with me, silly!" Pinkie Pie said, in more so of a happy to have him go tone, instead of a happy to be with him tone. Matt slightly blushed, but Rarity noticed it. "Uh... I can't get out of this anymore, can I?" Matt asked, already knowing the answer. "Nope!" Said the six, including Twilight. It seems he would be going to the Fall Formal with Pinkie Pie. Was he upset at this? No, not at all. He was perfectly fine with it. In fact, some could even say he was more than perfectly fine with it. Either way, he'd be going, no matter what. Well, he wasn't prepared to be with Pinkie, but even more so, he wasn't prepared for the events that would be happening at the fall formal. > Chapter 3 - Friendship is Questionable > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the first time in his life, Matt felt unease. But it's not the first time he felt unease. It's the first time he was actually at a dance, with a girl. To make matters worse, he was somewhat interested in this girl. It seemed to be a prison, but one he could deal with for a long time. A very long time, in fact. And so, he simply waited. All of the girls were in the Carousel Boutique, in the bathroom specifically, and all he could hear was giggling. Twilight's Dog was no where to be seen, at least not in Matt's eyes. Normally he'd think about coding or science, but right now, all he could focus on was what he'd overheard the girls say when he first met them... or, when he first... heard them? They said something about magic, and that had piqued his interest. The only thing Matt could think about right now is why they said magic. Why did they say magic? It was clear to him that they were not nerds like he was, but instead, spread out through the... friendship rainbow? No... the pyramid? No... they were a plethora of things different. You had the egotistical sports girl, the farm girl, the hyper one, the shy one, the stuck up (some of the time) fashion one, and the nerd. Of course, there are way more friend types than that, but still. His point was made clear. It was obvious they had no feelings towards magic... or at least, no feelings towards it like Matt's. He just couldn't explain anything right now. In fact, he didn't even want to go to this little dance thing anymore. He wanted to... thoroughly study his whole life for a moment. Reflect to everything that happened so far. His parents' death, his living alone, the sudden friend group befriending him. Right now, nothing made sense to him. He just wanted to lay down, and go to sleep. He was starting to regret coming to this city. Sure Ash was here, but still! This place not only made him feel even more distanced from everybody else, it made his head hurt! He really wished he could get out of this place, for even a moment. It'd be nice to just go on a vacation... no, that's too grand. Maybe to even just stay home one day, and just play video games. Matt knows that'll never happen, however. He can keep dreaming, right? Oh well... he can. He'd started to wonder what made the girls take so long, but he soon realized that only 6 minutes had passed, not 20. Time really does go slow when you're bored, huh? For now, he'd have to be content with what he was 'getting'. If you could even call it a present. He didn't really know what to think of this new 'relationship' with Pinkie, and his new 'friends'. They were probably just using him for something. What? He had no idea. But something... it's not the first time that happened. Unfortunately. Now tired, Matt just rested in the chair, hoping to never wake up. Any time soon, that is. "Get up, sleepy head!" He heard a voice say, a seriously chipper and happy voice. To his unease, Pinkie forced him up out of his chair. "Wha... where? We gotta stop him..." Matt said in his dreams, still asleep. "Hey, wait to wake him up. I wanna see what his dreams are". Rainbow said, happy to be able to tease him. To her surprise, the rest of them were fine with that. "Yeah, they're... using me. I know it. It's all anyone's ever done. It's all you're doing... *takes breath*" Matt continued, in his sleep, spilling his insecurities. "He thinks we're using him? Is he talking about us?" Twilight asked, curious to see what the other 5 think of his dreams. Unfortunately, they can't make heads or tails, until his next statement. "Friends? You call... *slight pause* my friends? I don't, and never will have any! Friend *slight pause* ship is a lie. For me, at least" Matt continued, answering Twilight's question unconsciously. When Pinkie put him back on the chair, he woke up. "Oh. Hello, mates." Matt said, unaware of what he just said. "I have a question" Twilight asked, the others already knowing what she's going to say, and they advise her not to. "Do you really consider us your friends? And I want the honest answer, Matt. Don't tell me any lies" Twilight finished, wanting to know he could at least do that. "Honestly? No. I don't know what your angle or motive, or intention with me is yet, but I was hoping to at least find that much out. It was easy the last few times. What is your motive with me, exactly?" Matt bluntly said, not realizing the significance of what he just said. "Why do you believe everyone has a motive, Matt? Why?!" Twilight asked, beginning to become upset with her new 'friend'. He simply answered her with this: "Because it happens every time, Twilight." "So things can never be different, Matt? Is that how it is? Things can never be different, or change?" She asked, thinking about Discord (this takes place before Tirek). "No. I'm merely a tool that many people try to use. This is simply the way life is. Why wouldn't you want to use me? Why would you want me as your friend, Twilight?" Matt asked, asking the question that Twilight the same question that she herself had thought about for a while; Why did she want Matt as a friend? To expand, to make more friends? Is it because he looked like he could use some more? Was it out of pity? What had she gained from having Matt as a friend? Why did she want him around? As she looked confused, Matt was thinking about leaving right there, and right then. And so, he made his parting words. "Goodbye. It was fun hanging out with you, even if it was temporary. And it was an honor to even be considered as your date, Pinkie Pie. Goodbye, fellers." Matt said, as he was leaving, which left a frown on Pinkie's face, and the rest, but even more so on Pinkie Pie. As he walked down the sidewalk, Twilight chased him, finally able to answer his question. "I want to be your friend... because... you remind me of my former self; thinking friendship isn't important, when really, it is." Twilight revealed to Matt. Twilight, however, couldn't seem to read from his face whether he was moved by it or not. > Chapter 4 - The Fall Informal > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "I want to be your friend... because... you remind me of my former self; thinking friendship isn't important, when really, it is." Twilight revealed to Matt. Twilight, however, couldn't seem to read from his face whether he was moved by it or not. Matt was ready to give Twilight the answer, but it wasn't one she wanted; "Pity. On both sides. You want to be my friend out of pity, and I pity your attempts at trying. See you later, all of you. This was a complete waste of my time. It was fun while it lasted, but you know what? It's over, now. Have fun at your Fall Formal." Matt finished, walking away from her, showing no signs of anger, but instead, signs of disappointment. He left Twilight mildly crying, where the others simply comforted her, giving Matt's back glares of anger and disappointment. "Twilight, dear, he was nothing more than a loser; no matter what, he couldn't see the magic of friendship, darling" Rarity said, in an attempt to cheer Twilight up. "Y-You-You're wrong, Rarity" Twilight started, starting to uncontrollably sob, which increased the tension between the 6 girls and Matt. "He was just like me, in the beginning. He doesn't realize it yet- he-he-he, still needs a second chance" She finished, putting the cap on her thought. The others realized how important it was to Twilight, and continued their efforts of cheering her up. And so, they decided to go to the Fall Formal anyway, hoping there would be a miracle, and that Twilight would win the crown. Meanwhile, with Matt... ---With Matt, walking home--- Damnit, Matt thought. Not only did he make a mistake, in thinking that they were using him, but he also made Twilight cry. Making anyone cry is basically a sin. And so, he would use this time to reflect on his actions. Should he have done that? Should he have made her cry? They were probably using him, he thought. On the other hand, he thought what if they weren't? And if they really did want to be genuine friends? What if it was all the truth? Something he hadn't received before.... Either way, she deserved an apology. And so, Matt started running in the other direction, starting to think about the one thing he could think about, the thing that truly started it all; Why had they mentioned magic, in that shop? Was it real? Were they some kind of Captain Planet type of girls? Or were they secretly part of a magical cult? What had that all led up to? What was the real purpose here? What did this all mean? There was only one way to find out, to him: He had to be there, at the Fall Formal. What if everything they'd mentioned before was leading up to this? It'd make sense, since it was some kind of big event at the school, and if there was magic, there was definitely a big possibility that it was connected to their school. They spent 8+ Hours a day, at the school! That's at least 33.33%! No matter what, he would find out what they meant by magic. Consumed by his thought, it took a bit for Matt to realize he was already in front of Canterlot High. The least he could do to Twilight was apologize, so it's what he planned on doing. And so, he entered the school, and was stopped by a orange-tan kid with blue hair, who was attempting to intimidate him. "Hey, are you Matt?" The kid asked, coming closer, making Matt realize he wasn't taller than him, he was much taller than Matt. "Yup, that's me. And you are?" Matt asked, purposely trying to get on his nerves. Fortunately, it seemed to work, and the kid was already showing signs of frustration. "Flash Sentry; I heard you made Twilight cry!" The kid said, calming down from Matt's earlier statement. "Oh, nice to hear. I've really gotta go now, so... yeah. See ya!" Matt said, but Flash Sentry blocked his path, with Matt realizing he wanted more than words; he wanted revenge. With Matt being short and skinny, and this kid being tall and... muscular, to an extent(?) he realized he wouldn't win this. "You're gonna pay for that, kid" Flash Sentry said, punching Matt in the face. "And what the hell is your problem? I thought words were how you settled things here... unless you're a brute, Mr. Sentry" Matt said, making fun of Flash's short temper, and it seemed Matt got a kick out of it. Flash held him up by his shirt, and hit him against the locker. Now, there was some blood coming from Matt's nose, and some from his forehead. Flash Sentry left, leaving Matt with this warning. Matt simply walked on, and the 6 girls were coming out of the bathroom, who noticed Matt right away, because of the now massive amount of blood coming from his forehead, and his nose. "Hehe, I'm sorry about the events at the Carousel Boutique, Twilight" Matt said, with an amazing amount of interval of coughs. Before Twilight could say anything about the blood, he limped off, towards the gym. "Wait, darling, what ever so did happen to your face? You look a mess!" Rarity said, her other friends giving her the look. "Eh, some guy decided I'd pay for making the purple one cry. Seems I got more out of it than he did. It was fun!" Matt said, blatantly lying about the last part. It wasn't fun, but it was enjoyable to an extent, to see Flash Sentry angry like the way he was. "Who was it? We'll teach them a lesson!" Rainbow Dash, everyone standing behind that statement, except for Fluttershy and Twilight. "There'll be no fighting, girls!" Twilight said, saddening the others. "If I tell you who it was, then will you all promise not to do anything?" Matt said, hoping they didn't want to know. "Ah reckon that'll work." Applejack said, wanting to know who did this. "He had... what was it... an orange-ish face/skin, and blue hair... his name was... Flash Army? Flash Marine? No... it was... Spark Sentry? Ah! It was Flash Sentry!" Matt said, putting a horrified look on all of their faces. The only response Twilight could do was cry, and the others had to cheer her up again. "Damnit! I made her cry again!" Matt said, running off, before Flash Sentry could come and exact his revenge. ---Twilight's Crowning of Princess--- "And the Princess of the Fall Formal is... Twilight Sparkle!" Celestia said, but Twilight wasn't as eager to win as she was before. She stood up to the stage, pretending to look happy, searching for Matt in the crowd, but he couldn't be seen anywhere. Soon after, she heard Spike screaming for Twilight's help. She and the others began running for him ---Matt, hiding on the side of the building, outside--- He seemed to be far enough from Flash Sentry, where he watched a blue, fat, short boy, and a tall, skinny, and orange boy run out with a dog. 'What the hell?' was the first thought that occupied his thoughts. Why the hell would they have a dog anyway? It seemed like they were kidnapping it. He then saw a girl, who looked crazy, with a sledgehammer, threatening to do something to the statue, but he was too far away to hear anything. He was about... 15-30 meters away? And then, he saw crazy girl rush for Twilight's crown. 'Oh, she must have really wanted to win that crown, eh?' He thought not realizing the importance behind it. He then watched them play keep-away, and he couldn't help but laugh. He then watched as she got the crown, thinking 'What significance is the crown if she's not the princess of the dance?', but as he watched her put it on his head, and sudden VISIBLE energy appeared, he couldn't help but think one thing; Magic Exists. This is what the girls were talking about in the shop... > Chapter 5 - What. The. Hell. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt watched as the girl with the bacon hair rose up into the sky, and turned into a demon. Yes, she turned into a demon Matt thought. He tried his best to 'wake himself up from the dream that he was having', but it didn't seem to work, no matter how many tries he gave it. He transferred to this school very recently, in fact, today! And already, he's seen magic?! What the hell was going on here? Matt watched as the girl turned two of her lackeys into some kind of... uglier demon, and they went around the entire school, doing... something. Matt then watched as she exchanged a few words with the Twilight girl, and promptly shot a blast at her. Expecting there to be blood everywhere, Matt was immensely surprised at the fact that the six girls he'd met were alive. Please explain to him; how were they not dead? Matt wasn't sure what was more surprising; the fact that their school's ex-princess just turned into some hellspawn, or the fact that her competitor's friends created some kind of magical forcefield around them. Either way, one thought was going through Matt's head; I need to transfer, as fast as I can. And so, the girls seemed to reduce the girl to... what? A crater, was it? Why the hell was she in a crater? Was the rainbow of... whatever it was some kind of explosive substance? Was it radiation, but to a major extent? He had no idea what it was, but when it was all over, he said, even loud enough for the girls and everyone else to hear; "WHAT. THE. HELL. CAN I TRANSFER, LIKE RIGHT NOW?! WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?! HOLY CRAP, WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED? WHAT WAS THAT?! OH MY GOD, HEAVEN AND HELL EXIST! ALL CHAOS AND HARMONY WILL NOW BE PRESERVED FOREVER, WHO KNOWS WHAT ANYMORE?! WHAT THE HELL?!" He went, on and on and on, unfortunately, loud enough for everyone to hear. Twilight and her friends tried to walk the 15-25 meters he was away, but he promptly ran away, hoping to spare his life from the rainbow of doom, or whatever it was. Right now, his main priority was living. Unfortunately for him, Rainbow Dash came running after him, and eventually caught up, and pinned him to the ground. "Why are you running from us?" She asked, showing slight anger at his actions. "Oh, I don't know actually... maybe it's because a giant crater was left by some Rainbow of Doom you all cast? I don't know about those other students, but I'm transferring, and maybe even moving!" Matt said, with the others finally having caught up to him, and enough to hear what he had said. "Why do you wanna leave, sugarcube?" Applejack asked, expecting some sarcastic remark. "I'm sure Dashie here could tell you all about it. Wanna fill them in?" Matt said, expecting Rainbow Dash to follow her 'newly given orders'. "He's afraid of our whole magic of friendship, and wants to move-" Rainbow Dash started, but was rudely cut off by Matt, who had something else to say. "THAT WAS FRIENDSHIP?! WHAT THE HELL DOES FRIENDSHIP MEAN HERE?! LASERS AND BEAMS?! THIS IS SERIOUSLY STARTING TO GET SCARY. I MEAN SERIOUSLY, IF THAT'S WHAT FRIENDSHIP IS, I'M AFRAID TO EVEN JOIN A FRIEND GROUP! THEY PROBABLY HAVE SOME TRANSFORMER OR SOMETHING WAITING TO MURDER ME, IF THAT'S WHAT FRIENDSHIP CAN DO! I THOUGHT FRIENDSHIP WAS SUPPOSED TO BE NICE! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" Matt asked, hoping to get some answer, that this was all just a dream. Out of nowhere, Flash Sentry appeared, asking Twilight if she was okay. "Oh my, trying to be the big hero, eh, Flash?" Matt said, mocking how Flash was utterly useless in this situation, and the one that presented itself before this. "What is that supposed to mean, Matt." Flash said, trying to intimidate Matt out of bothering him. "Oh nothing, good sir... you just seem so... high and noble when my good friend Twili is here, but when she's not... I guess you could say... *laughs* blood boils?" Matt said, becoming very silly in his last statement. He was flatout laughing at Flash Sentry, and the six girls that stood before him were okay with this. He wasn't, however. He simply stomped out of the situation, and the girls began to ask Matt some more questions, they learned about his slight obsession with magic. ---Later--- "So, I'm gonna leave her with you 5- I mean, 6, okay?" Twilight said, giving Matt a look, saying 'You'd BETTER take care of her'. Matt however, had two questions of his own; "So... lemme get this straight; You're a Purple Pony Princess, and you can perform Magic in this world of yours?" Matt asked, with Twilight simply nodding her head. Matt, however, seemed to have one last question to ask, and this one was one Twilight couldn't answer as easily. "Can I... go with you, to that other world? Not with you as in stay with you, but explore the other world a bit" Matt asked, putting a stunned look on Twilight's face. Some time passed, and Twilight eventually explained to him why he couldn't go, and the paradoxes that could start from that happening. And so, when she left, the 5 friends began rallying around the Bacon-Haired girl, while Matt simply pulled out his 3DS, and started to play Smash Bros. "Hey, do y'all reckon you can show us some appreciation for one minute?" Applejack asked, getting the obvious answer, as Matt shook his head, and continued to play the game. As for the rest, they began to cheer Sunset Shimmer up, and started to help by fixing the building with her. Matt simply continued to play his game, but eventually, because Pinkie and Fluttershy asked really nicely, he started to help. However, he did secretly wish he could go back to playing his video games. In friendships, however, you couldn't always get what you wanted, and he'd learned that already. For now, he'd just take life at his own pace. > Chapter 6 - A Distanced Bond > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was two days from the incident that had happened with the whole Demon thing. The reason why it only took 2 days was because the entire school decided to help out the 5 girls who'd saved them from that little incident. It seemed to be that they were all mad at Bacon-Hair, and to be honest, Matt couldn't blame them. If someone were trying to enslave him, he'd probably shove a brick into their face. So, really, he was fine with the other students being mad at Bacon-Hair. Was he mad? No, not really. He didn't actually care. He was hidden away, and was fine with the girl going wherever she wanted, so long as it had nothing to do with him. He'd wondered, however, what would happen to the school? He'd probably move to another city, maybe even country, or, hell, maybe even another continent. Or... transfer to a different school. The easy route. He had his laptop in both his hands. Instead of eating, he'd be working on his mod, as coding was very important to him. He started to make his way to a table where no one else sat, but he could hear a girl calling his name. "Matt~! Matt, Matt, Matt! Come sit over here!" Pinkie screamed across the room, in a cheerful manner, as usual. Matt, however, decided to sit alone, so he could get some coding work done. Pinkie kept on calling his name, but he put his headphones on, so he couldn't hear her anymore, and got to work. Matt was coding for about 18 seconds, until he felt someone hugging him. He turned around, and pink hair was all over his face. "Shmu, Shmi Shmurda" Matt said, trying to say something. "Huh?" She said, releasing him from the prison known as hugs. "How'd you get over here?" He asked, very confused at how she sneaked up on him. "I walked, silly!" She said, giggling. "Oh. Right". Matt said, getting back to the work he'd loved most. "Why aren't you sitting with us?" She said, giggling halfway in. "Because. I need to get to working on my mod, if I want to be a coder. And right now, that's what I'm trying to do. So..." Matt said, hoping she'd get the gist. Unfortunately for him, she didn't. "Hey, girls, come sit over here!" She said, with her friends following her command. "Well howdy, Matt" Applejack said, expecting a hi back. "Hello darling" Rarity said, also expecting an answer. "Um... hi" Fluttershy said, hoping he hadn't heard them. Matt, however, seemed to be more so annoyed than actually happy. He wanted to be isolated from them. "May I ask you all why you're sitting over here?" He said, hoping someone would catch on that he didn't want to be bothered by them. "Because, you're our friend!" Rainbow Dash replied. "Don't friends sometimes... *ahem* need to be alone, Dashie?" He said, in a desperate attempt to have someone catch what he was trying to say. "No, silly!" Pinkie Pie said, giggling once more. "Alright, I give up; please leave me alone, all of you. The Pink One, the Rainbow One, the Farm one, the Fashionista one, the shy one, and the Bacon-Haired one." Matt said, giving up on being subtle. "Why do you protest so?" Rarity asked, not realizing she stepped on a landmine. "BECAUSE. I. WANT. TO. CODE." Matt said, becoming angry at that point. The girls began to leave, but the bell rung, and he had no time, because it was time to go to class. Matt realized he had a free period, which made him happy again. However, he soon realized that he shared free period with Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Bacon-Hair. "Hey, Matt, I'm... sorry about what happened at the fall formal" He heard a masculine voice say, and so, he turned around, to see Flash Sentry. "Huh?" "What happened at the fall formal, I didn't mean to hurt you" Flash said, hoping Matt would accept his apology. Flash was surprised by what came out of Matt's mouth next: "To be honest, you didn't hurt me at all. In fact, I enjoyed making you angry!" Matt said, showing a smile, proving that he did like seeing Flash at his angry points. "So... no hard feelings?" Flash asked, unsure of what Matt would say. "Nah. Well, I got things to do, like CODE. So... bye!" Matt said, getting back to code. Today, he had his one class, and the rest of the day were free periods, so he had all day to code. Matt was ridiculously happy at this, and started to code again, and wasn't interrupted for the rest of the day. ---Getting out o' school--- "Say, Matt, wanna hang out?" asked a familiar voice, as Matt turned around to see who it was. Surprisingly, to Matt, it was Flash Sentry. "Sure, but it depends on where we're going" Matt asked him. "We're going to go to a guitar shop, so I can get mine polished, which will take 2 hours, and we'll pass the time by going to Sugarcube Corner, and Gamestart" Flash said, piquing Matt's interest with Gamestart. Ash worked there! He might be able to see Ash on this little trip! And so, they went off to the guitar shop, left it with the guy, and reached Gamestart. However, Andy took the day off, so they just looked around at games. "Oh, HELL YEAH!" Matt said, looking at a game in particular. Flash Sentry came over to see what it was, and got the same goofy smile as Matt had on his face. It was a new game rumored to be one of the best; World of Atlas. They spent a bit more time looking around, but eventually, they reached Sugarcube Corner. ---Sugarcube Corner--- "I'll take a coffee and a Vanilla Shake, please?" Matt asked Mrs. Cake, as he payed. $10.00. Damn, he thought, back where he was from, it would've costed $6.80. As he tasted his Vanilla Shake, he realized why it costed so much; It tasted exactly like heaven. When he reached Flash, he gave him his coffee. Little did they know, the Human 6 were eavesdropping in their conversation, because they'd also happened to be there. "So... Matt, are you mad at Sunset Shimmer? For the stuff at the dance?" Flash asked, but Matt seemed to pull a confused look on his face. "Sunset Shimmer? Who's that?" He asked, with the 6 girls listening wondering among themselves. "You know, the girl who stole Twilight's crown?" Flash said, with the 6 listening again. "OH! You mean Bacon-Hair?" Matt asked, donning Sunset Shimmer with his own personal nickname, which he'd chosen based off of her looks, or rather, her hair. "Yeah, Sunset" Flash said, wanting Matt to expand on his statement. "I'll tell you something; okay?" Matt said, with Flash nodding his head at that statement. "Before I transferred to this school, the Sunday before, or rather, the day before my first day, I overheard Twilight and her friend group say something about magic; for the time I've been here, that's all I could think about. Why had they said magic? Did it hold any significance? And the events that happened at the dance? To be 100% honest, I don't really care about her actions. I haven't forgiven her, because I was never really angry. I hid, so I wouldn't have been affected. But what intrigued me the most was that little portal statue thing your girlfriend had went through; what the hell had that meant? Where did it lead to? And now, I want to find out. But at the same time, I don't. It seemed to have a temporal effect, seeing as when Pinkie attempted to go through, it had not worked. Which means, it must open periodically, which means I'm ready to wait. But my thoughts about Bacon-Hair? I'd like to study her, your girlfriend, or at least the crown they were wearing; I want to understand magic more. After all; Magic is just science we can't explain!" Matt finished his speech, ironically, leaving Flash speechless, until he said one thing, the most important thing he took away from Matt's statement; "You think we're dating?" He asked, secretly wanting Matt to say "yes." Instead, Matt said something else; "It's obvious, Flash. You two stick like syrup. As for my speech, the tl;dr statement would be; I want to study magic, and I forgive Bacon-Hair." Matt said, as Flash looked at his watch, realizing it would be time for them to get Flash's guitar. "Oh, crap! Let's go get my guitar, Matt!" Flash said, as they ran out the store. When they left, the 6 girls began to talk. "Sunset, that's good news; Matt already forgives you for your actions!" Pinkie said, comforting Sunset even more; "Yeah, I know... it's... nice of him" She said, with the slightest blush forming on her face. > Chapter 7 - Getting to know Bacon-Hair > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt simply waited in line. This time, there was no laptop, and, it was Taco Tuesday. Strangely enough, he never saw any of the students eat tacos. He'd always wondered why, however. Were they like the stereotypical mystery meat kinda thing? Or were the other foods just better? These thoughts clouded Matt's minds, and it took Granny Smith repeating his name over and over to realize he was next in line. He'd went for 2 tacos and 3 oranges. Oranges, his favorite fruit in the world. Ironically enough, he didn't eat them often. Oh well. When Matt was done getting his food, he wasn't sure whether he'd be sitting with Pinkie and the group, or Flash's group. Either one was fine to him, as he probably wouldn't be leading the conversation. "Matt, Matt, Matt! Over here!" Pinkie said, guiding Matt's attention to her table. Matt followed the commands, not realizing that he would be leading the conversation... sort of. Matt sat down next to Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash. "Matt?" Applejack asked "Yeah?" Matt replied "You know Sunset Shimmer, right?" She asked him, knowing the answer. "Do you mean know her know her? Because I don't know her know her. I know that she exists, but, I know a lot of people exist. Where exactly is this going?" Matt asked, unsure of what he wanted to hear. "We'd like you to meet the Work In Progress reformed Sunset Shimmer" Applejack said. "Reformed?" Matt asked, with a slight hint of sarcasm. "Yes. Reformed, darling" Rarity said, not picking up on the sarcasm he'd delicately placed. "I don't believe in reformation. I do believe in changing your actions, however." Matt said, differing the two. "Well, would you like to meet the totally awesome Sunset Shimmer?" Rainbow Dash asked, sure he would say yes. "Sure. As long as it doesn't take too much time." Matt said, wanting to get back to his thoughts about coding. "Hello, Matt! We haven't really talked before, have we?" Sunset said, trying to be as nice as she could. Unfortunately, Matt wasn't any help. "Really? What tipped you off?" Matt said, not really caring. Sunset, however, got angry. "WHY are you acting like this?" Sunset said, unable to hide her feeling of anger. "Rule #1, Sunny. Never show anger. It'll either get people angry at you, or people will feed off of it. They'll be happy to see you angry, and they'll keep on making you angry. We'll refer to these people as... *snickers* trolls." Matt said, hoping for Sunset to learn her newest lesson. "Why are you teaching me all this? And W-when did I give you permission to call me Sunny?" She said, giving up that light blush again. "You didn't; I did!" Matt said, going from a serious tone to a 'I don't really care, it's fun!' tone. "Nicknames already..." Rarity said, the others joining in on slight laughter. "I can see where the rest of you are going with this; I have nicknames for everyone! Flashor, Dashie, AJ, Pinks, Flutters, Rare, Sunny. She's hardly different from the rest of you. Not even I'm that different." Matt said, explaining the way that he thinks. As he finished, the bell rung, and it was time for them to go to class. Matt had P.E. "Ugh, my least favorite class." Matt said, making a motion for shooting himself in the head. "Come on, it's awesome!" Rainbow Dash said, but only to Matt's annoyance. "No, it's not. I wish I could be coding right now." Matt said, wishing this class didn't exist. Surprisingly, he was actually a pretty good runner, it's just that he enjoyed other things more than he did Physical Activities. P.E. went rather quickly, because this class, he was talking to Rainbow Dash the entire time. By the end of the day, he was ready to go on home, but he was unexpected by who saw trying to hang out with him. "Hey, wanna hang out?" He heard a voice ask, but was surprised to see who it was. "Flashor?" Matt said. "What?" Flash asked, surprised at the sudden nickname. "Your new nickname. Let's grab a pizza, then hit up Sugarcube corner?" Matt suggested, and Flash seemed to be fine with it. "I'd like 2 plain slices" Matt said, waiting for his slices. Flash simply ordered 1 slice, as he was getting a snack at Sugarcube corner. "Yo, Flash!" Matt said, trying to get his attention. "Yeah?" Flash asked. "How are you and Twili?" Matt asked, hoping to hear it was going well. "Well, I get to talk to her every now and then. She secretly visits me sometimes, and we hang out. You know, she's really nice and stuff. You know what else?" Flash said, getting excited. Matt expected it to be some good news, like they were officially able. Matt got his pizza, and left the shop, still talking to Flash. "You should start dating Pinkie Pie!" Flash said, excited for Matt. "Wut." Matt said. It was his only reaction. "You should start dating Pinkie Pie!" Flash restated. "WUT." Matt said, clearly denoting that he knew what he said, but was frankly surprised at the notion that Flash had just made. Besides, Matt only loves code. "You two are perfect for each other! You're both silly at times, you make people laugh, and sometimes, you can even give the most helpful advice! I think it'd be great, man." Flash said. They both reached Sugarcube Corner, to continue talking about the topic at hand. Eventually, however, it became quite late, and they both went their separate ways. Matt couldn't help but think about what Flash Sentry had said earlier. 'Why had he said that?' was the thing that he mainly thought about, but he couldn't help but feel that he was somewhat right. The points he showed were valid, but, Matt simply had no interest in her. Did he have slight interest at the Fall Formal, and the events that fell before it? Yes, he would have to admit that he did. But for now, all he could think about was what would happen next for him in life. What would life bring? > Chapter 8 - Second Atlas > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flash and Matt were at Sugarcube Corner again, talking about the most recent game; Second Atlas: Revenge of the Lost. It was Matt's favorite video game series, and he couldn't stop thinking about it. It came out in two days, and Matt could hardly contain his excitement. This game was pretty much his life right now, because... it was. Second Atlas was the biggest game on the market right now, but only recently. Matt had liked it ever since it came out, when it didn't... exactly get as much love as it does now. "Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes-" Matt went, on and on and on, clearly showing his hype for Second Atlas: Revenge of the Lost, a game which he could say was his second favorite video games. "Dude, you've been raving about that game all day" Flash started, choosing his next words very carefully. "Try to tone it down a bit?" He asked, realizing he'd chosen the right words. Matt stopped his hype, and understood where Flash was standing from. And so, Matt began to calm down. "Fine. But still, it's one of the best series in the entire world! Well, actually, it's the second best video game. It's not easy for someone like me to stop this hype. Bro, it's in two more days. I'll need to go to GameStart again, and buy that. AS. SOON. AS. SCHOOL. GETS. OUT." Matt said, emphasizing the last part. He'd be able to see Ash, who he hadn't seen in a while. He'd been wondering how Ash was doing. Maybe he started coding, or got a girlfriend, who knew? He was probably faring just as well as Matt, or, maybe even better. Who knew? Matt certainly wanted to find out what he was doing. Oh well, he thought... he'd just have to find out tomorrow. Right? ---Tomorrow, First Period (Free)--- Matt was watching a trailer of Second Altar, and trying to analyze everything that came in the trailer. He'd analyze everything from the background, to the weapons, and the enemies, the bosses, and everything else. He tried his best to keep his calm, but he just couldn't. However, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Sunset Shimmer all had Free Period, and asked him what he was doing. He answered, telling them the truth; "I'M... watching Second Atlas trailer, trying to analyze it. The game comes out tomorrow. Don't think I can let an opportunity like that slip my coding radars! Actually, this is my gaming radars. But the point is... I. NEED. THIS. GAME. IN. ORDER. TO. LIVE. I've been talking about it with Flash Sentry!" And at the hearing of his name, Flash went to investigate to see why his name was said. When he found out what the situation was, he simply facepalmed. Why the hell did Matt keep on talking about- no, he knew the answer to that. He hasn't even seen Pinkie Pie that hype. This was a whole new level of hype. "ANYWAY, I have things to do. So... see all of you later!" Matt said, hoping to shoo the rest away, so he could get back to the game he so direly needed. He seriously wanted this game, and couldn't wait any longer for it. "We're sticking to ya like candy on ah Caramel Apple!" Applejack had said, giving Matt a bit of... a feeling, like he'd heard that somewhere before. He hadn't thought too much of it anyway. Back to work, he thought. This game needs all the analyzing, and it needs the analyzing now. "I appreciate the offer, Applejack, but... I really wanna do this. If that's-" Matt started, but saw the disappointed look on Sunset's and Fluttershy's faces, and the look of disapproval from Applejack. And so, instead, he decided to humor his friends a bit, during the free period. The rest of the day had gone by swiftly, until there were two more classes left. The first class, Algebra, he had shared with Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. "Alright students, you may sit down." Said the teacher, who's name appeared to be Ms. Cherilee. Funny, Matt thought. Wasn't she also the librarian? This place was very confusing. Who knew what other wonders this school could have. They had Magical She-Demons and a Purple Pony Princess (PPP), so... yeah. A Librarian-Math Teacher was the weirdest to Matt, however. For two reasons; One, people usually take an interest in one, and that one thing particularly. You didn't see a book-loving math nerd, and the other way around. Two, did they lose their librarian during the Magical She-Demon incident? Or did she quit before that? Who knew, right? He'd probably ask around, but, probably wouldn't get any answers. After all, this is a sunshine-happy place school, which kinda made Matt sick at times. To him, Chaos was necessary to balance Harmony. A lot of people believe you should just have Harmony, but... to Matt? That's kinda sickening. You always need both, and that was his final decision. Soon enough, the day was over, and tomorrow came. ---Tomorrow(School Getting Out)--- "And so, you must balance the equation, so you have the same number of Reactants and Product on each side. And... you're done with this one!" Mr. Sombra finished, right as the bell rung. It was time for them to go home. Well, for almost all, that is. Matt, however, found Flash Sentry, and had dragged him to GameStart. This was his big moment, and he wanted Flash to be there. He got in a special copy which was pre-ordered, so he was all good. He came up to the Cash Register, and saw his good friend Ash. He looked a bit tired, however. Probably from all the customers, Matt thought. "This copy of Second Atlas: Revenge of the Lost, please?" Matt said, and Ash beamed up to see him. He had incredible news to tell Matt. "What? It can't be more important than me getting this game." Matt said, with Flash Sentry nodding his head. Ash seemed to note that Matt really cared about this game. "I got a girlfriend!" Ash said, with Matt pretending to look happy for him, but they both knew it was fake, and simply laughed it all off. "Cool, bro. What's... *snicker* her name, man?" Matt asked Ash, expecting him to say H2O, or something like that. Matt wasn't surprised to hear he had one, however. "Her name is Adagio Dazzle. She sings to me sometimes, but only a bit." Ash said, with Matt being happy for him. Only, Matt didn't have any reason to be happy for him, if he knew what she was really like. It would be a while for her to start going to Canterlot High, but not too long before Matt met her. After all, Ash does wanna show off his girlfriend. > Chapter 9 - Adagio & Ash > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, this was it. Matt would be meeting Ash's girlfriend, Adagio. She was probably the ugliest girl that Matt could meet. In fact, not even. If someone wanted to go out with Ash, then they must be very desperate. Seriously, desperate. Humiliatingly desperate. Laughable desperate. Depressing desperate. Idiotic desperate. Matt stepped up to the steps, and rung on the doorbell. He'd wondered how ugly Adagio would look. Probably worse than anyone Matt could think of. The door was answered, not by Ash, but by some Orange/Yellow haired girl (her hair was seriously huge). Matt found himself staring at the hair before he said anything. "You must be Ash's sister I never heard of. Is Ash in there?" Matt said, being 50% serious. Was this his date? I mean, she was decent looking, actually, more than decent, but... she didn't seem too... innocent. In fact, she seemed the opposite. The way she carried that smile, like an evil smile. Something you wouldn't want to wake up to. "No. I'm his girlfriend. I'm sure he's said something about me?" She asked, looking slightly more innocent, but... Matt couldn't believe it for one second. Something was definitely off about this girl. Was it her hair? Was something hidden in her hair? Her clothes? Her spiked collar? No... Matt finally figured it out. The thing that put him off was the smallest thing on her. The Garnet Pendant she was wearing. Matt simply thought about it for a while, before he was invited into the house by Ash, who popped out, while the girl waited in the dining room. "Well? Isn't she hot?" Ash asked bluntly, Matt simply shaking his head in disappointment. "Yeah, sorta, whatever. But... never mind. Why am I here? Aren't I intruding on your little date? Shouldn't I be somewhere else, like... coding?" Matt replied, completely dodging his question. "No. It's a double date, duh!" Ash said, catching Matt off guard. Wait... that's not why he came here, Matt started to think. He'd been tricked, duped! This wasn't the real reason he should be here! He was supposed to be simply meeting Ash's girlfriend, and that's what it was supposed to be! This was a complete and blatant lie... "But don't worry; Adagio told this girl all about you, and showed her a picture! She's really interested into you!" Ash said, but it once again, caught Matt off guard. HOW THE HELL DID SHE KNOW WHO HE WAS?! HE'D NEVER SEEN THIS GIRL BEFORE is what Matt wanted to say, but instead, the only chance he got was; "Oh. Let's... have... dinner?" Matt said, seriously surprised at the fact that she could have done this. Maybe Ash had set the whole 'Matt being hooked up' with a girl. He simply shook his head. He guessed it was time to eat, eh? Whatever was inside had to be good. It smelled good. Whatever was going to happen, Matt had to screw this up. To save any chance he could have with Pinkie Pie. Wait, why was he caring about Pinkie Pie? Maybe he did have an interest? Who knew. Matt certainly didn't know anything right now. He was so unsure about everything. Hopefully tomorrow, everything would be cleared up. Who knew? NOT MATT. Matt walked in to the house, and the dining room, and he was introduced, by Adagio, to a blue girl named Sonata Dusk, apparently. Did he care about her, or Pinkie Pie? NO. He... didn't know anymore. NO. He knew his answer... Pinkie, of course! He'd just met this girl. ---(7:45) During the Dinner (7:45)--- "So, I was telling Sonata here that you were an amazing young person!" Adagio said, trying to break the 6 minute silence. It seemed to work, this time. "Amazing young person? Seriously, who uses that unless you're an adult? What are you, thousands of years old?" This got a laugh out of Matt and Ash, but a nervous one out of Sonata & Adagio. They kept on arguing whether or not Adagio's language and word use was that of an adult for about 45 minutes, until Matt noticed the time. This would be a perfect opportunity for him to get out of here. This place... no, these girls. They'd made him feel uncomfortable. Not 'I'm so nervous' uncomfortable, but... 'What are you hiding?' uncomfortable. And now, he would launch his attack. "OH MY. Look at the time, I've gotta get running!" Matt said, quickly getting the hell out of there. Before that could happen, the Adagio girl started singing for him to stay longer. He was entranced for a while, but his mind went back to Pinkie Pie. He couldn't stay. He'd need to be alive for her, tomorrow. And so, he broke out of their spell, leaving the family. Adagio's face was shocked, with horror. How had he broken out? she thought. And so, for the rest of the night, Adagio began to wonder back and forth; How did he break out of her spell? ---(At School)The Next Day (At School)--- "Hey guys. My friend's girlfriend tried to hook me up with her friend. Didn't go out to well, and I'm seriously glad." He said, his eyes drifting off towards Pinkie Pie. She simply smiled at him, which made him happy. He didn't love her. Or at least, he wasn't too sure yet. Did he? Or did he not? Who knew? Matt certainly didn't. He turned around, as a voice asked him something. "Why didn't you want it to go well?" Sunset Shimmer asked, curious for his reasons. "I didn't feel good around them. Seriously, I didn't. I'd rather date any of you than them. Not to say you guys are bad, however". Matt said, trying to redeem himself from the comment he made. Pinkie lightly blushed, though she wasn't the only one who blushed. No one noticed it, but Sunset Shimmer also blushed. It seems Pinkie wasn't the only one to have feelings for Matt. > Chapter 10 - Enrollment > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "So... Flash. I heard something... serious..." Matt said, in a seriously grave tone. This seemed to be serious, so Flash responded as seriously as he could. "Yeah... Matt? What did you hear" Flash said, nervous and scared of what he was going to say next. It could be anything from another Demon to the world ending. "I herd u liek Mudkipz" Matt said, dying of laughter. Flash was seriously angry at him. "THAT'S. WHAT. YOU. HAD. TO. TELL. ME." Flash screamed, but Matt was already out the door. It seemed this was how he was going to spend his free period. He ran around the school, with Flash trying to "hit" him. Flash was quite angry, because Matt had duped him like that. "I'M GONNA KILL YOU MAN!" Flash threatened, his speed increasing. They ran, until Matt turned the corner, and bumped into Celestia. "Hehe... see ya?" Matt half-said half-laughed, running again. Celestia simply watched as Flash kept on chasing him around the school. Eventually, they were on another floor, where Flash told him he couldn't run forever. What happened next was one of the reasons why Matt wanted to be taller. He bumped into a girl again, and hit something soft before he hit the ground seriously hard. It seemed his nose was bleeding. Meh, he thought. He'd probably hit the girl's stomach or something. He got up, and said sorry to the girl, before he saw who it was. He saw that it was Sunset Shimmer, who was as red as hell. That's when Matt realized something; he didn't his face didn't hit her stomach, it hit her... chest. "Hehe, uh... bye? I gotta-" Matt said, being interrupted by Flash's voice. "I'M GONNA KILL YOU MATT! I SWEAR TO IT!" Flash screamed, once again. Matt knew he was dead this time. He simply hugged Sunny and left. Eventually, they had class again, and Flash never got to Matt. ---(Free Period) Last Period (Free Period)--- "Alright, I got free! Let's see who else has free... Sunset, Pinkie, Dash, Fluttershy and-" Matt said, his voice and face becoming full of fear. Here came a repeat of earlier today. From down the hall, he heard a voice. "MATT, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" Flash yelled, once again repeating the events of earlier that day. They eventually gave up on it after school was out, where Flash and Matt were just laying down on the lawn of the school, tired. The Human 5 and Sunny found them, and asked about what they were doing. "We... were... just running... around the... school. Flash... killing me... usual..." Matt said, with heavy breathing in between. He couldn't take it. He was almost dead after that little work out. Yes, he could run, but that was pretty much where his sport abilities ended. "Oh. We were hanging out. You guys wanna come? We're going to Sugarcube Corner! It's gonna be awesome!" Rainbow Dash said, but Rarity then finishing the last part, which Rainbow didn't really like at all. "And pick out some clothes, at the Carousel Boutique!" Rarity said, being just as hype as Rainbow Dash was. Matt and Flash looked at each other and smirked. They already answered each other. "Sure. Fine. Just... help us up, please?" Flash said, as Applejack and Rainbow Dash helped him up. Matt reached his hand out to Fluttershy for her help up, and she did. He thanked Fluttershy, who, simply welcomed him. "Now... to our destination! Or should I say" Matt said, looking at Flash, with a smirk "Final Destination?" he finished, both of them dying in laughter. It was a reference to a game they both liked, Super Smash Brothers. They knew that Rainbow Dash and Applejack also played the game. And because of this, the female duo also laughed. The rest just looked in confusion. "Or maybe we should get to the... Battlefield?" Applejack said, once again humoring the four players of the game. "I don't get it." Fluttershy said, but more so a question type of form, sort of asking them to explain at the same time. And so, Matt explained. "It's this game we all play, called Super Smash Bros for Wii U. It's actually a fun game, you know! A bit hectic, but... still!" Matt said, Fluttershy finally understanding. And so, the group of 8 made it to Sugarcube Corner in one piece (although Matt wanted there to be some kind of Magical Mythical Beast in their way, and that he would fight in order to get some kind of reward, hopefully in the form of a special kind of sword. He liked swords. "So... any news from... visitors out of town?" Flash asked, hoping for the answer to be yes. Matt noted that he didn't really seem to be friends with them, and instead, only with Twilight, really. He made a mental note of this, because it could be important in the future. Who knew, right? "Sorry Flash, we haven't heard anything from the Princess." Rarity said, putting a sad look on Flash's face. Matt couldn't help but chip something in. He was thinking about the Adagio girl he saw. "But, I feel like we'll be needing her help soon enough." Matt murmured, surprising the rest of the group, who managed to hear him out loud. "What do you mean, darling?" Rarity asked, confused, shocked, and scared at what he said. Matt was right, but no one knew this yet. "Who knows, right? I guess-" Matt started, but his phone rung. It was a call from Ash. He'd wondered what it was about. Hopefully good news. Matt couldn't help but feel that these news were no good. "Hey Matt, what's up?" Ash said, over the phone. He seemed to be excited, but that simply made Matt feel even worse. This couldn't go anywhere good. "Oh, nothing much. Why ya calling?" Matt asked, hoping to get some dumb reason. Instead, it was pretty much everything he feared. "I have good news! You wanna hear them?" Ash said, making Matt starting to sweat. The rest of the group looked at him in worry. "Yeah, I'd love to hear the good news!" Matt said, blatantly lying, but there was no way Ash could tell. Matt then regretted his words, as he dropped the phone, his face in shock. Adagio Dazzle was enrolled in the school, and would start attending the school in a month. > Chapter 11 - Cadence, the Matchmaker > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- If there's one thing Cadence was good at, it was finding love for others. You could basically call her the ultimate matchmaker. Every time she'd used her matchmaking abilities, it always ended up well for her victims. She's even used it at her Aunt's school, Canterlot High (Her aunt was Principal Celestia). She'd made many kids fall in love with each other. Of course, most of the time, her husband, Shining Armor, disapproved. So eventually, she only told him bits about it, and he briefly "scolded" her (he just said "are you still doing that, Cadence?"). Today, however, she would have the hardest time playing Matchmaker. Today, while she was visiting her aunt, she'd find a boy who she'd need to work seriously hard on to find a love. This boy's name? Matt. It seemed as if he didn't work at all with someone, unless it was the absolute right person. Of course, she'd asked Celestia for a tour around the school, even though they both knew she already knew the school inside out. Celestia knew she just wanted to play matchmaker, and suprisingly, Celestia had let her. Cadence asked for Matt to be her tour, which surprised Celestia. "So... I'd like to "get a tour" around the school, Aunt Tia." Cadence asked, making her intentions very clear. Even Celestia knew what she was trying to get at here. "You just want to play matchmaker again, don't you, Cadence?" Celestia asked, seeing right through the facade she was trying to put up. "It'll make the student's life better, Tia! They'll be happier as a result, aunt! It's perfect!" Cadence said, now resorting to a half-beg. "Alright, Niece. But only because you believe it will make my student's lives better." Celestia said, hiding her enthusiasm, but Cadence knew she wasn't like this. She knew Celestia thought it was fine. "Awesome, can I grab any student?" Cadence asked, Celestia nodding her head. "Sure, Cadence. What student would you like to... *ahem*... grab?" Celestia asked, curious of the answer Cadence was going to pull out of her hat. "There's this student named Matt, I think a little love would spice up his life a bit." Cadence asked, with the reaction coming from Celestia next unpredictable. Celestia simply laughed. "You want the new kid to fall in love? *Uncontrollable laughter* Good luck. You should know he believes that he's perfectly fine on his own, however. He doesn't believe that love is an important part of his life. As good as you are, niece, I don't think you can pull this one off." Celestia said, offending Cadence. She officially took this as a challenge now. Celestia seemed to have realized this in the serious facial expression on her face. "Are you saying that I can't make this student's perfect match?" Cadence asked in a 'Really? You're saying this can't happen?' tone. "Yes, I am. You're going to fail, Niece. I hope you've expected this. Unless... you think you can do it." Celestia asked, a smirk growing on her face. "Challenge Accepted." Cadence said, as she left the room. She searched the whole school to find Matt, until she found him goofing off in the gym, playing a game on his 3DS. It seemed to be his free period, which was good for Cadence. Now she could really have a good reason to pick him. She found herself staring at him for a while, until Matt finally said something. "Hello? Is there something I can help you with?" Matt said, in a rude tone. Cadence, however, wasn't offended by this at all. She actually found it rather amusing. "Principal Celestia said you'd give me a tour around the school! Great, isn't it?" Cadence cheerfully cried, with Matt giving her a look like 'Wut da FU-' I mean, 'Wut'. "Wut." Is all that came out of Matt's mouth, because he was at a loss of words. Why did he of all people have to give this woman a tour? He deserved to be playing on his 3DS. No... it was his right to be playing on his 3DS. He shouldn't have been doing this, he should have been playing, goofing off. "That's right, silly!" Cadence said. Matt simply sighed, and showed her to the main entrance. They walked by Math class, where Sunset, Pinkie and Applejack were all in the class. The three of them saw Matt with this woman, however. The Former two (Sunset and Pinkie) were wondering who this woman was. Applejack explained to the former who she was, because she'd met Cadence personally before. Her and Fluttershy, had. "She's Celestia's niece, Cadence, otherwise, known as the Matchmaker." Applejack said, in a 'Yeah, I know it' kind of tone. This pulled a surprised look on Shimmer and Pie's faces, however. The word matchmaker and Matt used in the same scenario were not good for them. "Oh my, I wonder who she's going to put him with. They say that the relationships she puts people with always works out, if not, then at least in the beginning to the middle." Applejack said. As she said that, Matt and Cadence finally reached the main entrance of the school. "Well, here it is! The main entrance of our school. It's pretty big and all, and it leads to the other areas of the school. So... yeah. Should I show you some of the classrooms?" Matt asked, turning from a 'this is it' to a question type of tone. "Sure! We'll start with Mathematics, I guess." Cadence said, not knowing the things between Pinkie/Sunset and Matt. As Applejack was done explaining to the other two girls who Cadence was and what she did, Cadence and Matt walked in the room. They simply went to the back of the room, and Matt explained what they were learning about. Cadence, however, wanted to get this started. She wanted to get the show on the road. "Hey, Matt, can you pick a girl to come and tour with us?" She asked, with the trio (Sunny, Pinkie and Apple) hearing her. They all expected it to be one of them, but everyone was surprised by what (who) Matt said next. Even the girl he picked was surprised. "I'd like Trixie to come tour with us." He said, sort of sealing his fate. The trio and Trixie simply looked in shock. Trixie got up, however, and gave Matt a smile. "Trixie would love to tour with Matt." She said, as they walked out of the classroom. The trio simply looked in awe, amazement, shock, and confusion, as they left the room. Matt picked Trixie? What was happening here? > Chapter 12 - The Tour > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt and Trixie ended up showing Cadence the whole school, and it ate up most of their day. Of course, the two grew closer together. Cadence, however, saw a possible relationship forming between the two. It seemed to be that Cadence would have to increase the love between the two. But how? She didn't know. She'd have to ask Tia to make them partners in every subject- no, that wouldn't work. The teachers do that. Luckily, all of the teachers at CHS really loved Cadence, so it wouldn't be to hard. Eventually, the tour ended, and the duo guiding Cadence around the school had to leave. "It was fun touring with ya, Trixie!" Matt said, with a cheerful tone in his voice. He planned on seeing Ash, today. He might bring Flash with him. "Y-Yeah, Trixie thought it was amazing too!" Trixie said, her back facing Matt. They went their separate ways, and Matt eventually found his way to Flash again. "Hey, Flash, I'm going to GameStart to see Ash, wanna come?" Matt asked, hoping that he would agree to seeing one of Matt's old friends. "Yeah, I'm not practicing the guitar with my friends today, so I have some time to spare." Flash replied to Matt, as they walked out of the school. Eventually, they reached GameStart, in which Matt decided Flash should go meet up with the girls at Sugarcube Corner. He eventually agreed, and Matt walked into GameStart. He reached the part of the counter where Ash would be working, but a wave of sickness reached over him, because the Adagio girl was with him. He turned around to reach the door, but the Sonata girl and some... kind-of hot looking purple girl were "blocking" the entrance. There was no way he could get out of this, unless he thought outside the box, or inside the chimney. "Hello, Matthew" Adagio said, in a seductive voice. Matt just tried his best to pretend like Adagio hadn't even said that. He then looked over to the purple girl and Sonata. They were still blocking the entrance. This would be harder than he thought. Something that involved help in some type of way. There was no way he could get Ash to help him, because he was already under the girls' spell. He'd have to use his cell phone to call someone. "What a lovely day we're having." Matt said, trying his best to sound like an idiot. Unfortunately, Adagio saw through his little facade. She knew he was trying his hardest to get out of this. According to her plans, he wouldn't be out of this situation, but instead, under her spell. "Would you like to listen to-" Adagio started, only to be rudely interrupted by Matt, who was trying his best to think, while distracting her. "NO. I would not like to listen to anything, except for maybe the Original Soundtrack on my phone." At that moment, Matt put on his headphones, and started some Super Smash Bros for Wii U soundtrack. He loved the songs, and it would be a perfect opportunity. He found the purple girl behind him, taking the headphones off of him seductively. Matt simply felt more nervous than before, and found himself asking himself how the hell she'd gotten over here. Right... Adagio made him lose his focus. Back to the task at hand, Matt jumped back, away from Aria. "Shoo, you pest." Matt said, putting an annoyed look on Aria's face. He figured it would be easy to take on the blue girl, since she seemed to be a ditz. He looked up, and noticed that there weren't any security cameras, when there usually are. It seems they were planning something. He rushed towards the blue girl, and attempted to push her out the way. Instead, however, she easily subdued him. It was going to be like this, huh? He called 911, and told them he had accidentally slipped and hit his head, and there's blood everywhere. He then waited to hear the sirens of the car, and then he stood next to a wall, and hit his head as far as he could. He then fell to the floor, and passed out. ---In the Hospital--- "You should be okay, now." The doctor said, reassuring him. Matt noticed he had some visitors in the hospital, and the doctor told him he could leave, but that he would need to be more careful. "Where did you slip?" Sunset Shimmer asked him, and Matt replied with a simple word. "Park." was all that Matt said. "Do you think you'll be feeling wonderiffic by the time you get out of here, which is like, now?" Pinkie asked. Matt smiled at this statement. Matt thought it was nice to hear her voice- I mean, uh, her optimism. Rarity was the next one to ask the question, and Matt would, once again, answer it; "Do you think you'll feel okay, darling? That's all we care about." Rarity asked, and Matt replied with a simple nod. They all started to tell him to feel better and get out of there, however, they all heard a voice from behind them, which surprised them all; it was Trixie. "Let's... let's get you out of the hospital, huh?" Trixie asked, with Matt nodding. Eventually, Matt and Flash were alone, where Flash asked him a serious question. "Don't lie to me, Matt." Flash said, with Matt questioning what he meant by that. "Don't lie to me. I know you didn't fall and hit your head. You made the mark yourself, but, it wasn't because of falling. So Matt, tell me the honest truth." Flash said, repeating his former statement. "You promise not to tell anyone anything? And not to act differently?" Matt asked, with Flash doing the symbolic 'Hope to fly' phrase. And so, Matt told him all about everything. Ranging from Adagio, and his suspicions about the blue girl being surprisingly strong. Matt had told him everything, and eventually, they went their separate ways. Matt went home, and started to study creatures which were affiliated with Sex, Singing, and manipulation. The conclusion he came up with is that the girls were either some type of half-siren, or half-succubus. > Chapter 13 - Party Invitation? > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 'How long has it been since I started this school, anyway?' Was the first thing that reached Matt's mind as he walked up to the yard in front of his school. He looked behind himself, looking at the statue. There was this purple pony princess preaching friendship, and she saved the world- no, the school, and another world from the she-demon who is now trying to reform herself. She returned to her world, and all was okay. Except, it's not anymore. Now Matt has to deal with some kind of singing girl band, and he has absolutely no idea how to handle it. Maybe if he... no, that wouldn't work. He looked once more at the statue, wishing that everything he'd experienced was nothing more than a bad dream. He might move back, leave Canterlot. No one would really care, right? Flash has plenty of friends, the six girls have each other, Trixie has her two other friends, and Ash has his girlfriend. He now just realized why he couldn't leave; He had to save Ash from that girl; he had to break them up. And he would need Flash's help. After that's all over, he'll be able to move back to where he came from. The only thing he knew about these girls were that they were half-siren or half-succubus. Each had their own strengths and weaknesses. If they were sirens, Matt would take them head on. If they were succubus, Matt would wear clothes all the time. Matt opened the front doors to the school, taking a good look at everything in the building. Matt smiled, because he couldn't help but feel it was going to end well for him. Or... he hoped that, at least. He strolled to the next floor, and to his locker. He opened his locker, using the right combination, and took his books out. He had Chemistry, P.E., then History, then Free Period, then Lunch. He noticed the time, and realized he had lots of time to get there. It was 8:23, and class started at 9:15 today (usually they start at 8:45). He sat down in the very back of the room today, for some peace and quiet. He took out the laptop from his backpack, and got to work. He opened up the program he used to code, and worked efficiently. He got lost in it, before he heard Mr. Sombra clear his throat by Matt's seat. It was 9:15 already. What a bummer, huh? He put away his laptop, and started to pay attention. Mr. Sombra spoke for a bit, before he decided to call on one of the students. He decided to pick Matt, since he wasn't paying attention in the very beginning of the class. "Now, Matt, tell me... What is the charge on a Halogen, when it is bonded?" Mr. Sombra asked him, sure he knew what the answer was, but wanting to know whether he was paying attention. "A Halogen has a... -1 Charge, because it only has 7 electrons, and it needs one more, it will gain 8, making it have 1 more electron than its protons." Matt said, with a smile on his face. Mr. Sombra simply nodded, acknowledging that Matt knew the answer to the question. It became a bit before Matt noticed they were 10 minutes in. Apparently, they were doing a lab today, so they had to pick partners. Actually, they had to pick a group of three. Matt frowned, because he didn't know who the hell he would be with. He looked around, and saw no one of interest. However, when the time came to pick, two girls walked over to the front of his seat. Apparently they wanted to be his partners? Maybe? Who knew. Matt didn't really care who his partners were, so long as they didn't annoy him. "Partners?" The shorter one asked. She was white, had purple glasses, which shined bright, and her hair was blue, and sky blue, and wearing headphones. Matt could easily infer that she liked music, specifically dubstep? "Well, acquaintance?" The other one asked. She was gray, her hair kept as neat as it could be. It was harder to tell, but Matt could tell she also liked music, because she played the cello. She was probably into... classical? "Sure." Matt replied. "I'm Vinyl Scratch. I like music." She said, Matt having a slight urge to make a sarcastic remark. He refrained from doing so, because she was trying to be nice, and so he decided that he wouldn't be mean either. "Octavia, grand to meet you. I, also, like my friend here, like music, but I prefer... more orderly music." The gray one added, Matt feeling like she was being passive aggressive to the Vinyl Girl. "Well... shall we get started on the lab?" Matt said, the trio going over to where their lab was. They would be testing how Alkali Metals react with water. They would be using Lithium, Sodium, Potassium and Rubidium. Matt already knew how the first two would react. Lithium would bubble, and Sodium would catch on fire. Because the last two were very unstable, he could never really get his hands on them. Matt poured water into the beaker, and Vinyl dropped some Lithium in. It started to bubble, and Octavia got back, while Vinyl leaned forward, excited to see what would happen. Matt simply stood there, knowing exactly what would happen next. It then sped up, and increased bubbling, until it cooled down so much, that the Lithium got smaller, and the bubbling stopped. "Awesome~" Vinyl said. "It was scary!" Octavia said. "Meh. There's much more to come, both of you." Matt said, with a smirk on his face. He knew this excited Vinyl, and scared Octavia. He then grabbed the Sodium, and dropped it in. At first, it was just bubbles, which made Octavia happy, but Vinyl knew there was more to come. Suddenly, it burst into flames, and Vinyl had a squeal of happiness, while Octavia was scared much more than she was before. Matt once again smiled. "That was so amazing, Matt!" Vinyl said, Matt noticing the hype in her voice. "Why does this happen?" Octavia asked, fearful. Soon enough, the lab ended, and the rest of Matt's day went by quick. He noticed on his locker there was a party invitation. It was at this big building, which looked like a castle on the inside. 'How the Hell did high school students manage to get this?' He asked, but realized he probably didn't want the answer. It was tomorrow, on a Saturday. He could be coding, so he pretended like he didn't even have the invitation. Behind him, however, he heard two familiar voices. "You're going, right?" The masculine one said. "R-R-Right?" The feminine one said. Matt turned around to see who it was, and he wasn't even surprised. He had a day without them, and he wished he could enjoy a bit more. Unfortunately, he couldn't deny seeing the invitation, which means he couldn't deny going. "Twilight's gonna be there!" Flash said, sounding like a giddy kid who just got his freaking happy meal. Matt simply rolled his eyes. Why would he care about Twilight being there? "Y-You're going, right?" Trixie said. She must have really wanted him there, because she looked a bit sad. Unfortunately, Matt could no longer deny. After the trio talked for a bit, Matt went home, played some games, and went to sleep. ---Tomorrow--- Matt walked down to the Crystal Center, and noticed that it was being held on the 4th floor. They probably didn't even manage to get that much. He walked to the 4th floor, and opened the door to the halls that it was being held in. He simply looked in awe. Much bigger on the inside. > Chapter 14 - A Saturday Hangout (Party) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt walked down to the Crystal Center, and noticed that it was being held on the 4th floor. They probably didn't even manage to get that much. He walked to the 4th floor, and opened the door to the halls that it was being held in. He simply looked in awe. Much bigger on the inside. "Wow. This is much huger on the inside. Wait, what is that? What the fu-" Matt started, but he was interrupted as he was tapped on the shoulder. He turned around to see Flash Sentry with this purple girl. This must be Twilight. Now that Matt thought about it, he never really knew Twilight. But as he stopped staring in space and finally looked at her, he realized something; she was the same purple pony princess who saved the school from the demon of a friend who's now a sort-of angel named Sunset Shimmer. Matt couldn't help but think Twilight hated Sunset. But then again, Sunset was friends with Twilight's friends, so she must not hate her. It didn't seem like it, at least. Now that Matt started to think about Sunset Shimmer, he realized that the other students didn't really like her. Was she going to be at this party? Maybe, maybe not. Who knows. For now, he guessed he'd just focus on meeting, well, personally meeting this Twilight Sunkist. That was her name, right? "Hello. You must be Twilight Sunkist?" Matt said. Flash Sentry started laughing until he hit the floor, where Twilight just gave him a confused look. Right, she was a purple pony princess. But her name was Sunkist, right? Matt couldn't help but feel unsure about it. he was so sure that her name was Sunkist. "Dude, no way... her name is Twilight Sparkle, man." Matt wanted to laugh so hard, but he refrained from doing so. What kind of last name is Sparkle? Wait... was Flash Sentry's first name Flash, or Flash Sentry? What the hell? This town didn't make sense. Matt's last name was- "Nice to meet you!" Twilight Sparkle said. Matt responded to her handshake with a fist bump, but it seemed she didn't really... know what that was. Matt motioned to put her hand in a fist, and to bump it forward. Right... purple pony princess. He would probably forget that a lot more than just now. He would probably be forgetting that much more often. It's usually memorable that there's a freaking princess from another dimension where ponies are the dominant race, and not only that, but she's some kind of princess now. It was all too weird for Matt to comprehend. He didn't really believe in magic until the day Flash Sentry gave him a bloody nose. Good times, huh? No? Matt thought it was a good time; no, a great time! Matt found himself chatting with the duo until he and the other two realized the party was started. Twilight was going to look for her friends, and Flash was going to get something to drink. "All alone, eh?" Matt said, walking off. What would he do, who would he find? Whatever life brought him, he was sure he was ready for it. Well, anything except for those half-siren or half-succubus. What were they? Why were they? If Matt had to take an educated guess, he would say something about an alternate dimension. But the only alternate dimension he knew of... was the one Twilight was from. Could they be from there? Who knew, right? He later found himself trying to find who the DJ was, and to his surprise, it was Vinyl Scratch. And beside her? It was none other than... the girl he had taken a tour with. Strange. She must've owned the place. "Hello, Matt!" Said the woman you walked around the school before. She was in a playful mood, as ever... He noticed that she had an engagement ring. She was getting married? Heh, the matchmaker makes a match... for herself. It was somewhat funny, and some could even consider it ironic. Some. "Hello, Woman I Toured! Otherwise known as... WIT! Can I call you WIT?" Matt asked, also in a playful mood. He'd hoped she was happy with her marriage, because she was pretty funny, and deserved someone just as cool. He hoped it wasn't some kind of overprotective husband or something. Freedom should be necessary. No, freedom is always necessary. Matt walked past WIT to talk to Vinyl Scratch. "Didn't realize you were the DJ! That's a pretty big role, Vinyl!" Matt said, as the white- no, literally white girl smiled. He gave a smile back. "I was also the DJ at the fall formal!" She said, flashing her teeth in a smile. "I didn't get to listen to any music there" Matt started "I got a bloody nose from someone, and then found out magic exists. It was a pretty good day if you ask me. It was pretty eventful too." Vinyl Scratch nodded her head, and got back to being the DJ. Matt walked over to the other side of the room, which took him 6 minutes. That's how big this room was. He was having a pretty good time, and met up with Flash again. They talked about video games for a while. "I can't wait to get home and play SSB4. It's gonna be so awesome! Will you be online, Flash?" Matt asked Flash Sentry. He nodded his head. "I'm definitely going to beat ya, Matt." Flash said. He mained Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong and Ike. Matt would use Yoshi for the first three, and Shulk for Ike. "*Sigh* I don't think you understand... I've already won the battle." Matt said, but soon, they were joined by Rainbow Dash, who was interested in what they were saying. "You guys are playing Smash, and you didn't even invite me? I'm hurt" She said, but the male duo knowing she's kidding. Rainbow Dash mained Zero Suit Samus, Rosalina & Luma, and Lucina. He'd use Yoshi for the first two, and he would dominate Lucina with some Shulk, again. "After the party's over, Dash, we're gonna be online; can ya be there?" Flash asked her, as she nodded her head. Of course she'd be there! It was her favorite video game. "Who do you guys Main?" Dash asked the male duo. "I main Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong and Ike." Flash said, while Matt smirked. "I main Yoshi and Shulk." Matt said, keeping his smirk up. "So it's a deal then! We'll start playing as soon as we get home!" Dash said to the other two. "When you guys are asleep around 10:00, I'ma continue playing." Matt said. "Pff, we're gonna stay up all night!" Dash said enthusiastically, Flash nodding his head in agreement. It was settled then. After the party, they would be playing video games. Smash, specifically. > Chapter 15 - The Slumber Plan > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "So it's a deal then! "Hey, Flash, can I go to your house, actually? I'd like to play Smash Bros there, so I can wreck you personally. I want you to be rekt in person." Matt said, so confident/sure of himself. He knew he might be able to beat Flash. Rainbow Dash? He hadn't tested her mettle too much yet. Nonetheless, it was going to be fun. "Hey, why don't you guys just come to my house? I'm sure you guys wanna get rekt, so you guys can just do it at my house!" Rainbow Dash replied to Matt's comment. "Does Applejack game?" Matt asked, wondering about whether she gamed or not. She seemed to be the type who gamed, but, then again, she might not. Who knew, right? Well, besides Rainbow Dash, that is. "Yeah. She plays Smash 4, just like us! We just can't find her. Why don't we invite the rest of the girls to my house? I have 2 controllers there, Applejack has 3, Flash has 2, and Matt, you can just bring 1! It'll be perfect!" Rainbow Dash said, Matt realizing that there was a flaw in her strategy. "Nine." Matt said, but the other two who he was talking to didn't get the memo at all. The flaw in Rainbow Dash's plan was Nine. She hadn't factored something in. "Nine. There's going to be Nine of them. Flutters, Rainbow Dash, Rares, Apples, Twilight, Pinkies, Sunny, Flash, and I. What will the last person be doing?" Matt asked. Rainbow Dash had just realized the flaw in her plan, and she shrugged it off by telling them they'll think of something. "Even better..." Matt started, an idea forming in his head. "I can 1 v. 7 Flash, Rainbow Dash, Flutters, Rares, Pinkie, Apples and Sunny." Matt said, with a large smile on his face. Rainbow Dash was about to put on her "It's ON!" Face, but Flash frowned. What about Twilight? ---Story is in 1st Person now--- "What about Twilight?" Flash asked. Rainbow Dash reassured him, by telling him that Twilight didn't really like video games, and that she would probably be doing something else. We all three agreed on the plan, and we decided to go our separate ways until the party ended. I met up with Octavia, who was looking for her cello. She'd left it somewhere, and I wished her good luck on finding it. Because everybody knows I wouldn't be able to find it. I eventually run into Trixie, who said she was looking for me. And let me tell you now; The dress she was wearing? It was amazing. I freaking loved the dress. It was a wizard-y look, and she totally got the clothes right. No wizard hat? I was disappointed. This was, however, a formal-sort of party. Well, sort of. Formal in the sense that it wasn't totally wild. "H-Hey..." She said. I looked around. Why was she stuttering? Could it be that- no, it definitely couldn't be that. 'The Great and Powerful Trixie' couldn't like anyone. It was impossible, right? And yet the thought sort of made me feel confused inside. It was definitely a possibility. I'll leave it at that. "What's up, Trixie? Er... I'm sorry. The Great and Powerful Trixie?" I said as I laughed. She started to laugh to. To be honest, it was sort of an inside joke, and that's what made it funny/special. The fact that it was something that was shared between just us. Something that only we knew. "What's up?" I asked Trixie. I think I could hear her heart beat faster than it was before. I wasn't sure if it was the tension of the party, or whether she really did like him or not. He could never really know for sure. And to be honest, he probably wouldn't ever know until high school ended. It was their second year, however. Maybe all would be well? We spent the rest of the party talking to each other and being a bit nervous around each other. This made me wonder about whether Sunset Shimmer had a crush on me or not. Probably not, right? Eventually, the party came to a close, and I said goodbye to Trixie. I went over to the DJ stand, and dismissed myself from Vinyl's presence. On the way back, Octavia told me that she found her cello. Good for her. No, really, good for her. It's also nice to see that I had friends. "Well, you ready for a super-duper fun sleepover?" Pinkie asked me. "Ready to get owned in a 1v7?" I responded, directing that at Rainbow Dash and Flash. It was 100%, undoubtedly, expodentially, going to be the best sleepover in history. I hoped.
