I needed the money
Just a little more cash
So I took the job at pinkies
To take over for Rainbow Dash

Just be the watchpony
Simple enough
But I didn't know the ad
Had left out some stuff

I sat in my chair 
On my that dreadful night
Looking for intruders
(Though not willing to fight)

Glancing at the cameras
Watching the fake ponies on the stage
I was lost in my newspaper
Barely glancing from each page

I looked to the camera
And my calmness was now done
For what I saw
Was that I was missing one!
[WTF?!]
I cursed Celestia
My first night here at work
Somepony stole an animatronic
And in the dark they lurk

I grabbed my hat
And clutched my flashlight
(Inside my mouth)
Before setting out into the night

I looked in each room
Cutting the dark with light's beam
Having a feeling of being watched
Or that's what it would seem

I got to the party zone
A room now creepy and void of fun
I looked upon the stage
To find Pinkie was the only one?!

I gasped and jumped
As it's eyes snapped to me
But it just sat staring
As if it could see

I regained control of myself
And quickly left the room
With the pending feeling
Of imminent doom

I saw the form of twilight
Before me in the hall
It too seemed to stare
But I said imagination was it all

I saw nopony
Who had moved it there
I felt dangered by it's presence
To move closer I didn't dare

It's glowing eyes
Flickered to a start
And it came staggering towards me
But I wouldn't take part

I ran the other way
And hid in my office
But I could tell
That something was amiss

I looked out the window
To see Fluttershy pressed to the glass
I was locked inside my room
And the power wouldn't last

I looked down to my watch
And with a feeling of shock
I found that the time
Was barely 2 o'clock 

The sounds seemed to stop
And the cameras showed nopony
The "things" had scattered to various rooms
This job was no longer worth it to me

I crept into the hallway
Silently I made my way
Towards the exit
So I'd live another day

I bypassed twilight
And then Fluttershy
I had a tainted feeling
That I would not die

I was almost out
With but a room to go
My heart skipped when I saw it
The final damning foe

I saw "Pinkie" standing there
Pointed teeth in a foul grin
And in her glowing eyes
I saw only sin

She came slowly towards me
With a low croaking laugh
It wasn't long after
That I fell victim to her wrath

So I've moved about this stage
Each and every day
After being lost to this suit
Where forever I will stay...

You're sprinting across the ground
Flashlight clutched in your  jaws
You know he's right behind you
So you dare not pause

Suddenly he is before you
So you turn away
Your vision slightly blurring
As your sanity starts to decay

You're surprised as you gain distance
From he who causes fright
You delude yourself to thinking
That You'll survive the night

You round a tree and are paralyzed 
As his image drives you insane
Now you're just another victim
To the one called slender mane...

The darkness overwhelming 
As your heart begins to beat
Your all alone out here
As it searches for your meat

You're running through the Forrest 
Your hooves are caked in mud
You hear it get closer
Snarling through fangs caked in blood

It is tearing towards you
Wooden claws raking the ground
It's howl grabs the attention
Of other timber wolves around

You find yourself stuck
Woods to thick to run through
You tell yourself you've got a chance
But know it isn't true

You only catch a glimpse
Of it's glowing yellow eyes
Before it is upon you
And it's teeth silence your cries...

...now that she was gone
And I was all alone
Stuck between life and death
In a depressed zone

I looked around the corner
To confirm what I thought true
Silently hoping I was wrong
Though the truth I knew

The street bare and empty
So I stood alone
When a voice played in my head
In an unrecognizable tone

I jumped and looked around
To find nopony there
Yet the voice continued
As if emitting from thin air

"You have shown your worth
And that your morality is grand"
I could find just one response
"I don't understand"

"You were to be imprisoned
After not being laid to rest"
The voice seemed to soften
"And you've shown me your best"

"Your selfless actions
Despite who had been
Has lead me to an offer 
For you to start again"

I started to speak
But was blinded by white light
Memories invaded my head
My mind turning them to sight

... Consciousness found me
As I stood upon a stoop
I saw my wife and kid
On the sidewalk as a group

I was quite confused
But a memory mad it clear
The chance that I was given
To fix the danger looming near

I had them come inside
To change this futures path
For the one that I had lived
Had a poor aftermath

With the danger avoided
My eyes now filled with tears
I may miss my companion
But I now had family for years...

Every day the same old things
Now there's no happiness left to fade
My life is filled with problems
Each of which I'm fixing with my blade

Each time I cut
The pain of life is pulled away
It helps me to block it out
So on crimson sheets I lay

I am feeling pain each day
My bandaged hooves cannot hide
My cutie mark says it's what I'm for
So there's no fixing if I tried

Remedy and Coke
Were the lights of my life
But all I could return
Was unrelenting strife

Now that they all left me
And Coke is asking that I stay
I just want to escape this
As I drown in a sea of grey

By now it is apparent
The finial action I will do
I deserve not but want forgiveness
That's why I write this to you...

You know the eerie feeling
Something is there that you cannot see
But I did see it
So now it comes for me

The second that I saw it
It was suddenly too late
For but a single glance
Had sealed my fate

I'd been at a party
On that wretched night
And had gotten a new camera 
That had caught that foul sight

I now record my thoughts
Though they may be damming you
I just want to warn others
And wish somepony else knew

Wait, where was I?
I'm sorry I forgot
But I've been here for days
And my own thoughts cannot be sought

Well, I was at my cabin 
When it caught my eye
A glimpse of shadowed evil
That would cause me to die

From then I felt it's pressure
The feeling growing every hour
It is hard to explain
But felt like a dark power

I decided to see it
And that set my fate
I set up my camera
And sat down in wait

I could feel it drawing closer 
Yet still I did not move
For this thing's existence 
I had to prove 

The air became silent
And I could meet a sharp chill
Not running away
Took all of my will

I was relieved
As a sun's beam passed by
Breaking away the cold
And leading me to sigh

But I knew it was still there
So I got the recording 
But was not prepared
For what I would be seeing

I watched myself 
On the small screen
And saw the dark figure
Unlike anything I'd seen

The figure stood featureless 
As a dark silhouette  
An empty wretched image
That was now causing me to fret

I locked myself up
Inside of the cabin
To delay impending death
From that creature made of sin

Now each night it comes 
As it waits for a chance 
To remove me my witness
Because of my ill glance

Each night it claws
And degrades my barricade 
Each night I grow more tired
And my sanity begins to fade

But now it is getting closer
The scratches a louder din
And still I am stranded 
Segregated from my kin

I hear some boards tear off
And know I don't have long
And now I know my hope
Is contested and wrong

I know now this is not right
I cannot condemned you too
I must destroy this footage
As the dammed right thing to do

Now nopony will know
What became of me
I hope I broke it enough
So that you may not see

I find it kind of funny
In a bucked up sort of way
That I am talking to myself
For nopony can hear what I say

As death comes closer
And the wood planks splinter and break 
I can just yell "BUCK YOU" to it
Because of my mistake

So now that it's getting in
As it knocks away the door
I just hope to be remembered
After I am no more...

Many leaves were blowing
Across the darkened night
I could feel like something was there,
Something remaining out of sight

I got up to my hooves 
In order to look around
And that's when I saw it
A set of hoofprints on the ground

At first I thought them mine
But felt frightened (and rather dumb)
For then I did realize  
That wasn't where I'd come from

The trees all about me
Started to groan and creak
As I followed the hoofprints
For the source I did seek

Nearly half an hour later
I found to my dismay
That I was back to where I'd started
And the prints had gone away

I simply said "screw this"
With this mystery I was done
And started trotting homewards 
until it became a run

I'd been running way too long
When I stopped to take a rest
And then I saw the same surroundings
At that I digressed

Why does this keep happening
I yelled; running in a straight line 
I quite frankly was positive
That I was mentally fine

No, this isn't possible  
I said coming to the same spot
I could only feel like
In some labyrinth I was caught

Though nopony will read this
Still I wish to write
How I was lost forever
On that endless night
