> My Little Human > by Merotik > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The Crying Bush > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Your majesty, are you sure you wish to rest her?" asked the royal guard, as he and his co-pilot began to set the royal coach down near a forest. "Yes, here is fine, don't worry, I'll only be a couple minutes," Said Princess Celestia, as she exited the coach and had begun her stroll in the forest. She didn't take any guards with her, she wanted to be alone. She had been constantly stressed with all the different problems she was facing. Sunset Shimmers, a filly who had recently become her new star pupil has not been interacting very well with the other fillies (although Celestia has tried to tell her how important it is to make friends), has had to deal with a parasprite infestation in Cloudsdale, the sun had been attacked by a mysterious creature but had luckily been saved by the doctor and his gray pegasus assistant (now she had to go through the exhausting process of healing the sun), and to add it all up she still had to do all of her normal princess duties such as keep every pony safe, deal with taxes, run court, etc. etc. She had just left a meeting in Ponyville and was returning to Canterlot before they flew over a forest (not Everfree forest, a different and safer one), and with everything going on in her life, she wanted to just relax and take a stroll in the forest before she had to return to Canterlot. She had been in this forest before, so she knew where to go. She had been walking for a good fifteen minutes, relaxing, listening to the birds chirp and the leaves whoosh as the wind flowed past them. Eventually, the path she was taking would take her back to the royal coach thus ending her relaxation time. Deciding that she wanted a little more time to relax, she took a separate path, one that she hadn't take before. This path was different from the rest of the forest. The path had not been paved with stone like the rest of the forest paths were, this one was a dirt path. Also, this part of the forest was thicker, and darker. She continued her stroll before being startled by a sudden noise. Off the path and into the bushes she heard what sounded like a crying foul. Curious, she began to investigate. She approached the bushes and used her magic to move them. She was surprised at what she saw. In the bushes was a foul, or at least, it seemed like it was a foal. She didn't know what it was. It cried like a foal, yet it didn't look like one. It had no hooves, no fur, no tail, it was pink but not any shade of pink she had ever seen before. She had never seen such a creature before and thought that this was probably an endangered species, one she had never seen before. Yet, how is that possible, she's been alive for over a thousand years, she knows all of the species both endangered and not, or, does she? "Hello! Is anyone there?" she called out, hoping to find out if the parents were around. No response came. She looked down at the screaming child and levitated him up with her magic, placing him in her legs. "Hush now child, everything will be fine" she said to the child gently as she began to gently rock the child in her legs. He looked up into Celestias eyes and slowly began to calm down. He then rested his head into Celestias chest and drifted into a nap. "There's no need to fear, I'll help you find your parents," she said to the resting child. The child was to young to rest on her back by himself, so Celestia used her magic to keep him balanced on her back as she made her way back to the coach. As she was approaching the coach, she heard the sound of galloping heading her way. The two guards were heading down the path as fast as they could to the princess. They approached her, gasping for air. "Your highness! You were gone for so long! We were worried something might have-" "Shhh!" Celestia interrupted, silencing the guard. "You'll wake him," said Celestia, pointing at the child. "Wake who? Your highness?" asked the guard as he looked upon the sleeping child. The guard looked at the princess with confusion. "Princess, what is that thing?" he asked, staring at the child. The princess looked at the guard sternly. "he is a 'child', and I would appreciate it if you not call him a 'thing' ," said the princess. "Yes of course! My apology's princess!" said the guard, bowing as he apologized. "I found him in the bushes back in the deeper end of the forest. I'm taking him with me to the castle until I can find his parents," said Celestia, as she and the guards began to walk back out of the forest and into the coach. "Are you sure that's wise princess? I've never seen anything like him before, what if he's dangerous?" asked the guard, as he was helping the princess and the child into the coach. "I see your concern but there is no need to worry. He's a baby, he can do me no harm," said the princess, smiling to the child. The guard looked at the child concerned, but turned away and attached the royal coach's saddle to himself, his partner doing the same. He and his co-pilot then extended their wings and began making their return back to Canterlot castle. > Sunrise at Canterlot Castle > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It had been over two months ever since she found the baby. She tried to keep him a secret, but the media always seems to get its way. After discovering that Celestia had found a baby in the forest and was keeping him in the castle caused local ponies of the newspaper to want to investigate. However, after discovering that the baby was not only NOT a pony, but not a species that anyone had ever heard of before, this cause the press from all over Equestria to want to investigate. This caused Celestia to stay close to the baby as much as possible. Celestia didn't mind however. This gave her an excuse to relax and take breaks every now and then. When ever she began to feel stressed or overwhelmed, she would simply tell her staff that she had to check on the baby. Then, she would spend her time with the baby until she had to return to her work. She enjoyed her time with the baby. She would play with him, feed him, and teach him various new things (like how she lifted the sun and moon, and how Pegasus fly). And the baby enjoyed being with Celestia as well. Whenever Celestia had to attend her work, the baby would be watched by a nanny until she returned. Whenever she left, the baby would cry and become upset until Celestia returned. Whenever Celestia was around, the baby would always be happy and full of energy. He also showed signs of being very curious and wanting to learn, despite his young age (which, the doctors found out that he was about two years old). Celestia had tried to find the child's parents as best as she could, sending large groups of soldier to find anybody that resembled the baby, sending word out all across the land that there was a child found, and even searching for the parents herself at one point. Despite all of their attempts, they could not find the parents. Celestia wanted to find the parents fast, she couldn't keep the baby in the castle forever. She was a princess after all, and as much as she would love a child of her own, her duties wouldn't allow it. So, she would have to either find the parents or have him sent to an orphanage. She didn't like the idea of having the baby sent to an orphanage. He's not a pony, and sure enough theirs bound to be ponies who will bully and make fun of him, just because he's different. This made her worry. She had just finished her work for the day and took a look at the clock. It was 7:30; sunset. She decided to set the sun and spend the rest of the night with the baby. She still hasn't given him a name, she was afraid that by giving him a name she would become too attached to him. Then, what if after she gives him a name his parents would appear to take him away. She couldn't bare the thought of having someone so close taken away. She's already lost one family member, and she didn't want to lose another. She entered her bed chambers, and sure enough, the nanny held the baby in her front legs, rocking him and trying to calm him down. The baby was crying, not as loud as usual though. "Seems like he's becoming more comfortable with you" said Celestia with a smile. "Hardly, he's just tired from crying all day" said the nanny, smiling back. As soon as the baby heard the princess's voice, he immediately stopped crying and was now laughing, as he stretched his arms up, wanting a hug from Celestia. The princess took the baby, and the baby immediately gave the princess a big hug, smiling. The nanny smiled. "well, if that's all you need princess,"she said, picking up her bags and heading for the door. "Yes that's all, thank you Care-a-Lot," said the princess, as she took the baby with her outside on to the balcony. She set the baby down next to her and had begun to light up her magic, slowly setting the sun. She lifted the baby with her wing and held on to him as she placed him on the railing (still keeping hold as to not let him fall). They both stared out across Canterlot, observing the city on that high castle balcony. "See that little one? as the sun sets, you can see the entire city shine," she said to the baby, smiling. The baby had begun laughing, she chuckled, happy to see the child's excitement. "You know, as much as I love seeing the city shine during the sunset, I still wish I could spend these moments with my sister," Celestia said, frowning. The baby looked at her, curious. "Oh, you'd love to see her little one, she's so full of energy just like you. But she tries to hide it and acts too mature for her age. She's younger than I am, so I try to tell her to play and enjoy her time while she's still young, but every times the same, always telling me that she's too grown up to spend her time with such childish activities. Sometimes we argue over this, but in the end, were laughing, laughing together, because we love each other, as sisters should," Celestia finished, a tear in her eye. She wiped it away and continued. "but I'm sure you'll meet her someday, and I bet she'll be glad to see you as well," she said to the baby, smiling. The baby smiled back. The sun had set by now, and the shine the town had was now gone, replaced with the lights of houses, shops, and street lamps. "Come little one, time for bed," Celestia said, as she lifted the baby with her magic and returned back inside. She placed the child in his bed, which was placed next to the princess's bed. She got ready for bed, and fifteen minutes later, returned from the restroom, seeing that the child had already fallen asleep, a smile on his face. She chuckled, "even in your sleep, you're so happy," she said to herself. She then placed herself in her own bed, drifting to sleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She awoke, in a cold sweat. Something had set off the alarm. Celestia rushed of the bed, quickly placing her crown, shoes, and necklace on. She galloped through her door and rushed to the sound of where the alarm was coming from. When she arrived, she saw three night guards, all unconscious. A fourth guard was helping to treat to their wounds. He then notice the princess approach him. "Celestia... its... him" ,said the guard, having difficulty talking due to his own injuries. She gasped, and began galloping down the hall. As she did, she heard a loud bang come from the end of the hall. She galloped faster, as fast as she could. When she arrived at the end of the hall, she saw that she was at the front of the castle, the front doors to the castle in front of her, a chandelier above her, and a balcony behind her. Suddenly, the chandelier broke. Celestia dodged it, having been seconds away from being crushed. Suddenly, she heard a laugh. She looked atop the balcony, and gasped at what she saw. There, standing in the moonlight was a tall, slim figure. He wore what appeared to be black dragon skin, and had metal armor placed on his hands, legs, chest, and head. He had mechanical wings on his back, and a sword handle on his waist. The metal helmet was shaped like a dragons head, but he was not a dragon. He reached up, and slowly took off his helmet. "No," Celestia said, shocked at what she was seeing. The figure had taken of his helmet, revealing not a dragon, but a species she had never seen before. He had white and pink skin (not any shade of pink she had ever seen before), he had no fur, but had long greasy pitch black hair, a scar on his right cheek, and was giving her a very sinister smile. "Please... don't do this," Celestia said, with worry in her expression. "I could help you, we can fix this, together," she said, trying to reason with the mysterious figure. This made the figure laugh, "oh I think you've already done PLENTY!" said the mysterious figure, as he began to reach for the blade handle. "I did what I thought was best for you! I tried to help you!" ,she said, tears coming from her eyes. This made the figure angry. "HELP ME!?! You think abandoning me is considered HELPING!?!" the figure shouted, holding the empty handle in his grasp now. "I was going to send you to where you belong! With your own kind! Don't you want to be with your own people? Where you belong?" said the princess, tears falling uncontrollably now. The figure stared at her, rage in his eyes. "WHERE I BELONG!?! SO YOUR SAYING I DON'T BELONG HERE!?! IN EQUESTRIA!?!" he shouted the words with all his might. The princess was taken aback, "no, you misunderstand, I'm just trying to-" "Oh I think I understand just fine!" interrupted the figure, still shouting. "I understand just fine that it was never about me, it never was! It was always about your precious ponies! You always loved them! You watch over them, giving them love and protection! While I had to stand idly by getting kicked and pushed around, just because I'm not a pony!" shouted the figure. "No, please, you don't understand-" "But its not just the ponies, oh no, its not. Its everything that lives in Equestria! The animal, the dragons, the breezys, everything that doesn't look like me!" he interrupted again. "Its not that you don't love me because I'm a not a pony, its that you don't love me because I'm a FREAK!" the figure shouted, his rage slowly rising. "No, please, its not like that, if you could, just listen, then I could tell you that-" Celestia tried to explain before she was caught off by him laughing. "Me? Listen to you? The great, powerful, so called 'loving princess' who would abandon even the most closest of friends and family just because their different, now wants me, to listen to her!?! HA! If I was in the mood for talking, I wouldn't have brought my 'tools' with me" he said, chuckling. The princess back away a few steps. "what do you want?" she asked. "Oh I think you know exactly what I want!" he said. He pressed a button that was on the empty sword handle. Suddenly, a flaming sword erupted from the empty handle, he took a step to the edge of the balcony. "No," Celestia begged, taking another step back. "You know what I want Celestia," he said with a sinister smile. "NO!" Celestia shouted, taking another step back. "I want," he said as he bent his knees, preparing to jump. "NOOOOOO!!!" Celestia shouted with all her might. "Your blood!" the figure shouted, as he jumped off the balcony, directly to Celestia. He took the flaming sword and went to attack Celestia. Celestia screamed, as the sword was thrusted at her. "GLEEEEEEEEE!!!" she shouted. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Celestia awoke, panting as she looked around the room. No alarm, no intruders, she was safe. 'A dream, it was just a dream' ,she thought, as she looked at the clock. 7:00, time to raise the sun. She went to get up before she realize something was different. She looked at the bed that the child should be sleeping in and realized he was missing. She immediately jumped from the bed and looked around the room. She was about to call the guards before hearing a small chuckle come from the balcony. The baby was outside, staring out into the distance, chuckling to himself. The princess sighed with relief, as she went to the balcony with the baby. "What are you doing out here so early little one?" she asked, smiling. The baby looked at her and began laughing. Celestia levitated him onto her back. "I guess since you're awake, you can watch me lift the sun if you like?" The baby laughed in response, the princess considered this a yes. The princess lit here magic again. Slowly, light over the horizon began to rise, revealing the sun. The baby stopped laughing and had begun staring in amazement. Celestia noticed and chuckled. "Now, don't stare at the sun little one, although its a beautiful sight, you don't want to hurt you eyes," Celestia said, gently. She watched the sun for a minute before turning to the child again. He was pointing at the sun, confusion in his eyes. Celestia smiled. "Do you want to know how I raise the sun little one?" she asked, the baby nodded. Celestia chuckled. "well, you see, I use my alicorn magic to levitate the sun and moon in their proper positions every day, It my duty as the princess," she said gently. The baby still looked confused, and pointed at her horn. "Oh, my horn? Well, it helps me use my magic," she explained. The baby reached over and touched it, then he felt his own forehead, finding that it had no horn, he frowned. "Do not worry little one, you may not have a horn, but that does not mean you do not have magic. Every living creature has magic. Magic that comes in every way ,shape or form" Celestia explained. After hearing this, the baby began to laugh again, smiling. Celestia chuckled. "My goodness, you are just a little ray of sunshine aren't you?" she said, smiling. The baby laughed in response. "So happy, and full of glee," she said to herself as she turned back to raising the sun. "I love you mommy!" Taken aback, She turned back ,facing the child again. "Did you say something?" she asked, staring at the child. "I love you mommy!" the baby said again, smiling. Celestia smiled, she finished raising the sun and place the baby back on the ground. She knew she couldn't keep him, she was a princess, and as a princess she had many duties to attend to, she couldn't raise a child of her own. But as she looked into the child's eyes, she felt a deep feeling in her chest, a feeling that only a mother could have. The feeling that comes from the love of a mother and child. "So full of glee, my little ray of sunshine," she said to the child. The child smiled at her, and reached for a hug. Celestia hugged the child, a tear in her eye. "I love you too, Glee Sunrise" > The False Soothsayers Prophacy > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- She couldn't move, dark fog was surrounding her. The Princess tried to call for help, but it was no use. She couldn't stay long, she had to move. He was coming, she had to move now! A figure appeared from the smoke, taking his time as he walked to the princess. Too late, he has arrived. Frantically, she tried to run, but it was no use; she couldn't move. The figure came closer, removing his helmet, that same dragon shaped helmet. He snickered at the fear that shown across the princess's face. "What's the matter? I thought you would be happy to see me," He said to the princess. "What's the matter? I thought you loved me," he frowned, reaching for the empty sword handle on his waist. "Or, was that a lie? Just like everything else you've ever told me? Isn't that right?"He was a foot away from the princess now. He pressed the button on the empty sword handle, a flaming sword erupted from it. Celestia could do nothing but watch, as the figure pointed the sword at her throat. "I said, isn't that right? MOMMY?" he stared directly into her eyes, snickering. "Mommy, mommy, mommy-" "MOMMY!" Celestia awoke with a gasp, she felt something around her neck. She looked down and saw a little boy giving her a hug. "Come on mommy, its the first day of school today!" said Glee Sunrise. He quickly jumped of the princess's bed and ran to go grab his bag. 'Well, he certainly seems excited about the new school year' ,thought Celestia. She got off her bed and proceeded to get ready for the day herself. She brushed her hair, placed on her royal jewelry, and then left to the royal dining hall. She took her seat in between Glee Sunrise and Sunset Shimmers as a waiter placed a plate full of toast, a muffin, orange juice, and oatmeal. "So, are you two excited for the new school year?" asked Celestia. "Yeah I am! I cant wait to see Twilight and Green Bush again!" said Glee excitedly. It was completely understandable for Glee to be excited to see his friends Twilight and Green Bush, they were his first friends when he first went to school. Celestia had thought about placing him in a private school through fear that the other ponies would tease him for being different, she in the end however decided that she would place him in a public school in hopes that he would make friends. Glee had always been excited about making new friends and about going to school, so after he came home on his first day, he was almost bouncing off the walls with excitement. He came home that day telling Celestia about the fun day he had learning and playing and other activities that kindergarteners would do. "What about you Sunset Shimmers? are you excited for the school year" said Glee, munching on toast. "Ha! As if. I'd like to attend my private lessons with having to hear the noise of ponies running up and down the halls" said Sunset Shimmers. Unlike Glee, Sunset Shimmers was a private student to Celestia. There was a public school for the high school students in the castle as well. Celestia was hoping that this would give Sunset Shimmers the chance to make friends with ponies her age, but the hustle and bustle of high school ponies just seemed to aggravate her. "Now, Sunset Shimmers, I expect you to actually make some friends this year, understand?" said Celestia, raising an eyebrow towards her. "Ugh! I just don't see the point in having to associate myself with ponies who are SO below MY standards." "Excuse me?" said Celestia, looking very cross at Sunset Shimmers. Sunset quickly got off her seat and place her saddle bag on her back. "Oh, but I... didn't say I wouldn't try, heh heh". She looked down at a non-existent watch on her hoof. "Oh would you look at the time! I better be off to my studies!" She quickly sped off. The princess sighed, as she looked at the grandfather clock that sat in the corner of the dining hall. "I guess it is time for us to depart, are you ready to go Glee?" asked the princess. Glee quickly shook his head up and down as he placed his bag over his shoulders. Celestia walked with Glee out of the hall and took him to the front court yard. Once there, Glee sat in the royal coach that took him to school. Celestia waved goodbye as the two guard pegasus stretched their wings and flew off taking the coach towards the school. "First day of school your highness?" asked a voice behind the princess. It was Lyra Cherry Blossom, the private cherry gardener who worked at the castle. The princess smiled, "why yes, indeed it is, (sigh) eight years old already" said Celestia. Lyra chuckled, "Well, all I can say is ,you better enjoy these years while you still got em. Cause next thing you know, he'll be just another teenager, causing trouble" ,said Lyra. "Oh I'm sure he'll turn out just fine. Glee is an extraordinary little boy, he loves to learn, he gets along just fine with all of the kids at his school, and he's always so full of joy" said Celestia. Lyra rolled her eyes, "oh come on, he's eight years old, he must act up sometimes." Now that Celestia thought about it, Glee hardly ever became upset about anything. One time Glee fell from a tree that he and Green Bush tried to climb, and fell. He sprained his ankle and the doctors had to put a cast on it for a month, but Glee was still smiling in the end. The only time Celestia could remember Glee throwing a tantrum was back when Glee would cry every time Celestia left the room, but he has since grown from that. Celestia chuckled, "actually, he really is a well behaved little boy. Speaking of which, how's Amanda doing?" asked Celestia. Lyra frowned, "Eh, you know, she's a really good girl and all but I'm getting really worried that the whole imaginary friend thing is never gonna go away. In fact, I feel like its getting worse, she's thirteen years old and she say's that she hears voices in her head, like their her best friends or something" "Well have you tried taking her to a doctor?" asked Celestia. "I have," said Lyra as she looked into the princess's eyes. "Seems like some pony else needs to see a doctor too." said Lyra. "What makes you say that?" asked Celestia. Lyra reached into her purse and pulled out a mirror, showing Celestia the bags under her eyes. "Oh, I must've not have received enough sleep last night. I'll be resting as soon as I lift the moon tonight" said Celestia as she began walking back to the castle. Lyra stepped in front of her, stopping the princess in her tracks. "You're not pulling a fast one on me, I know you princess," Lyra said as she stepped closer and whispered into the princess's ear, "you had that dream again, didn't you." Celestia looked around to see if any pony was listening. She then nodded her head and motioned for Lyra to follow her. Lyra followed the princess into the castle and up the flight of stairs until they entered Celestia's bed chambers. As they entered, Celestia placed a sound muffling spell around the walls of her room as to not have their conversation be heard by any pony. "So, princess, anything you want to tell me?" asked Lyra. Most ponies felt it wasn't their place to question the princess's personal affairs , but Lyra was an exception. Lyra had been a very close friend of Celestia for a while now. At first, Lyra was just another employee who worked at the castle. Her special talent was cherry farming and making delicious treats with cherries. When the castle staff announced that they were hiring, Lyra quickly filled out and shipped a resume. One week later, she received a letter saying that she had been accepted to farm cherries at the castle. Three weeks later she was out trimming a cherry tree alone when she heard some pony walking behind some of the trees in front of her. She went to see who it was and discovered Celestia walking alone. She saw that Celestia was silently crying, so Lyra helped to comfort her. They had been friends ever since. Celestia nodded, then looked out the window. "Yes, I did indeed have that dream again, the dream I've been having almost every day ever since I first found Glee." "Do you think it means something?" Lyra asked, concerned. Celestia sighed, "I wish I knew, the dreams don't give too much information to tell by. The most I can tell is that someone is approaching", "you mean some pony, right?" asked Lyra. Celestia shook her head, "no, not some pony, someone. Some one with fiery red eyes of pure anger, who wanders in armor of dragon leather and metal, and wields dangerous weapons that no pony dares to wield themselves. Almost every night is the same, I feel myself trapped, as if no matter how hard I try, there's no escape for what's to come , then the mysterious figure approaches, wielding his weapons, then," she looked at Lyra. "He attacks," Celestia finished. "Attacks? You mean, he attacks you?" Lyra asked. Celestia nodded. "But why? Why would he attack you? You haven't done anything wrong!" Lyra exclaimed. "Yes, but perhaps its not what I've done now, perhaps its what I will do" said Celestia, as she turned back to the window again. Lyra thought for a moment on what the princess could mean by this, then asked, "You think it has something to do with Glee? Don't you?" Celestia did not answer. "But, you've told me what that man looks like in your dreams before. He has long gross hair, red eyes, an 'X' shaped scar on his right cheek, and wears dragon skin. Now does that sound like Glee to you?" Lyra asked. Celestia turned and walked to a picture that she kept on her bed side table. She levitated the photo to her and looked into its contents. The photo showed a picture of Celestia walking beside a very happy Glee Sunrise and a very annoyed Sunset Shimmers. She smiled. "No, I guess that doesn't sound like Glee at all," she said, as she gave the photo to Lyra. 'Glee doesn't look anything like that man in Celestia's dreams' Lyra thought to herself. Glee had blue eyes, short clean hair, and NO scar. Lyra gave the princess her photo back, "he sure does look happy in that photo, can't say the same for Sunset Shimmers though." "Oh she's like that in every photo, always looking grumpy," said Celestia. She chuckled to herself, then quickly began to frown again. Lyra looked at the princess, wondering what to say next. Suddenly, an idea popped into her head. "Ooooh! I've got an idea that just might put these silly dreams of yours to rest!" said Lyra with excitement. "And what would that be?" Celestia asked. "Well, I know you've told me this idea was just silly and unreliable, but just hear me out. My sister's a bit of a fortune teller, well I like to consider her more of soothsayer, but she calls herself a fortune teller. Now if you would just give her at least five minutes then maybe it could-". Celestia sighed "Lyra, I've told you before that I will not seek the help of a fortune teller. I'm glad you like your sister's line of work, but I need something that's more ..... practical, no offense to your sister of course." "But Celestia! Ponies have been able to predict the future before! Why don't you trust fortune tellers now?" asked Lyra. "Yes ponies HAVE been able to predict the future before, but it was more complex than simply seeing into the future. It takes very powerful unicorns to do something of such caliber, and it takes more than one to do it. Even if a pony is to predict the future, what if they did not like what they saw?" Lyra hadn't thought about this, but she still wasn't taking no for an answer. "Well yeah, that may be true, but you still need help, and I'm not moving from this spot until I can give it to you!" She then sat down and crossed her front legs together. Celestia chuckled. "You dare speak to your princess that way?" she said jokingly. "Only if that princess is being stubborn," said Lyra as she stuck her tongue out at her. Celestia looked angrily at Lyra and stepped close to her, staring at her. Lyra did the same. They stared at each other for a few seconds before laughing. "Fine, if that's how you're going to be then I guess we can have your sister come over," said Celestia. Lyra squealed. "I'll send her a letter right away!" she said as she ran to the door. "Don't worry princess! You have nothing to fear!" Lyra shouted, she then slammed the door and galloped down the hall. Celestia waited until the sound of her hoof steps died down before muttering to herself, "I hope you're right," She then sat down at her desk to work on her mid morning paper work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "You're highness, my sister tells me you have a dream that's been bothering you?" asked a green and white unicorn. "Indeed I do, Miss Cherry Blossom" said Celestia. "Please your highness, you may call me Myra" said Myra Cherry Blossom. "Very well, then, Myra, is there anything you can do about these dreams?" asked Celestia. Myra nodded. "of course your highness, I will be ever so glad to help you with your dream problem" said Myra nervously. Myra then placed a bag on a nearby table and began to empty its contents. A crystal sphere, an essence stick, candles, and other various fortune telling equipment. Celestia noticed that Myra was shaking while she set up her equipment. "Are you feeling alright Myra?" asked Celestia. "Oh I'm quite alright your highness, just a bit nervous, I wasn't very well too informed on who I would be working for today," said Myra, as she glared at her sister. Lyra gave a weak chuckle, "hey I told you some pony wanted to hire you at the castle." "Well you didn't tell me it would be the PRINCESS! Uh, no offense your highness," said Myra. Celestia smiled. "Its fine Myra, completely understandable. Lyra, you may want to inform your sister better next time." Lyra gave an apologetic smile to Celestia and her sister as she rubbed the back of her head. Celestia, Lyra, and Myra were all together in Celestia's bed chambers. Myra had closed the window curtains and turned off all the lights, dimming the room. They sat at a round table, Celestia sitting next to Lyra and Myra sat across from them. A few candles, lit essences, and the crystal sphere sat on the table in between them. "Are you certain that this will work?" asked Celestia. "There's no need to worry, your highness, my methods are flawless!" Myra said as she lit an essence. The essence exploded into a black cloud, when the cloud disappeared, they saw that Myra's face was covered in soot. Myra gave a weak chuckle, "oops, wrong essence". She quickly tossed the essence aside and began pulling out a new one (Celestia noticed as she tossed it that the wrapping on the essence said "Lou's Prank Shack"). Once a new essence was lit, she quickly wiped the soot off her face with a rag, tossed it aside, and went straight to work. Myra waved her fore hoofs around the crystal sphere. "so tell me, your highness, what exactly occurs in these dreams of yours?" she asked. "Well, every dream is usually the same, there are minor differences to each one, but they're all usually the same. First, I feel fear that someone is approaching, someone dangerous." "Ah, yes! That could be the sign of a future encounter!" Myra said as she waved her hoofs around the sphere some more. "Then, I try to run, but I can no longer move" said Celestia. "A sign that this encounter is unavoidable!" said Myra. "Then, this strange figure appears, I still don't know he is, but for some reason he's always there in every dream," said Celestia. Myra nodded. "go on" she said. "Then, he attacks me. I don't know exactly why he attacks me, what I do know is that I've done something to anger him, and whatever it is that I've done, its caused him to feel nothing but anger towards me," said Celestia. "Is that all?" asked Myra. "Yes, that is all," said Celestia. "Well, this one is quite tricky, based off the information you gave me I don't seem to- WAIT!" Myra suddenly shouted. She began to wave her hoofs around the crystal sphere faster, as she gazed into it without blinking. "Yes! Yes I see it! Images of the future! Told before me within this crystal ball!" Myra shouted. Suddenly, the ground began to shake, and the chairs they sat in began to levitate. "GREAT SPIRITS OF THE FUTURE! GIVE ME THE SIGHT TO SEE BEYOND!" Myra shouted. The table then began to levitate, and the crystal sphere on the table had began to glow, voices could be heard coming from it. Myra's eyes had suddenly began to glow. The ground shook even harder. Myra screamed. Then, as soon as everything had begun, it stopped. The chairs and table fell, the crystal sphere and Myra's eyes stopped glowing, and the voices from the sphere went silent. The lights flickered back on as well. Lyra froze for a few seconds to process what had just happened, Celestia however seemed unfazed and calm during the entire process, then Myra shouted, "the spirits have blessed me with visions of your future Celestia. Do you wish for me to tell you your future?" asked Myra. "Yes Myra, I would like you to tell me," said Celestia, as she gave Myra a smile. Myra reached into her bag, "In which case, Celestia, thanks to the information that has been given to me by the spirits, I have to say-" before she could finish speaking, Myra grabbed a handful of confetti and threw it into the air, showering the three ponies in confetti. Then, Myra blew from a kazoo, "congratulations princess! You will be meeting the man of your dream!" she shouted, grinning at Celestia and Lyra. Lyra gaped at her sister for a moment, "WHAT! You mean to tell me that after all that, the spirits told you that the princess would meet the man of her dreams?" she asked. Myra nodded, "but, how does that make any sense? The man in her dreams doesn't love her! He wants to attack her!" said Lyra. Myra shrugged, "beats me, I'm not the one who predicted it, the spirits did. Now, if that's all you two need, then my work here is done". Myra then began to pack her fortune telling equipment into her bag. Lyra continued to gape at her sister, Celestia however gave a chuckle. "That was quite a show you put on there Myra, I really enjoyed the levitating chairs. But I feel that the glowing eyes was a bit much" said Celestia. Myra froze as she was putting the sphere into her bag, "wh-what ever do you mean your highness?" she asked. Celestia sighed, "Myra, I have been alive for a VERY long time, long enough to where I can tell the difference between seeing the future, and a hoax." Lyra thought about what the princess had said, before turning to her sister. "is this true Myra? Are you lying when you say you can see into the future?" Myra gulped before answering,."well... I've told you I was really good at illusion magic before, and that wasn't a lie." Myra chuckled nervously. Lyra's eyes began to bulge as she quickly became angry. "All this time I've told ponies about how great a fortune teller you were, and the whole time its been nothing but a scam!" she said, her voice rising. Myra looked insulted, "well I'VE got to make a living to you know, and illusion magic had always been a specialty of mine so I figured 'why not use this to my advantage', and it had worked just fine until now." "But, what was with the whole 'you're going to see the man of your dreams' bologna then if you didn't really mean it?" asked Lyra. "Oh, that, well I have to have ponies believe that I truly CAN see into the future or else they'll stop hiring me. So I do a little research to see what most ponies want in their life at the moment ,and then I tell them that their going to receive it in their future. Most ponies will believe you if you tell them that their going to get what they want, and right now my research shows that most ponies just want a special some pony in their life," Myra explained. Lyra was shocked. "so you've been scamming ponies into thinking they're going to find true love?" Myra looked down in embarrassment, "well, when you put it that way it just sounds bad." "That's because it is!" Lyra yelled. "Myra" Celestia said, catching both ponies attention. "I understand you want to find yourself work using your illusion magic, believe me, I've seen many unicorns who wanted to find jobs with that particular use of magic. But to use your magic to give ponies false hopes in exchange for their bits is wrong. you see that, don't you?" Myra looked down in shame. "yes princess, I'm sorry." Celestia placed a hoof on Myra's chin and gently lifted her head up. "I believe some pony else deserves an apology as well," she said, nodding to Lyra. Lyra was facing to her sister, she sat on her hunches on and her fore legs crossed. Myra sighed, "Lyra, I'm sorry I lied to you about being a fortune teller. I just thought that-" she stopped suddenly. Myra's eyes began to bulge, and she grabbed on to her neck as if she was choking. "Uh, Myra, you were saying?" Lyra asked, staring at her sister. Her sister did not reply, instead, she fell to the floor and began shaking madly as if she was having a seizure. Lyra rolled her eyes, "oh HA, HA, very funny Myra, but we already know its a trick so you can stop now." Myra did not stop, instead, her eyes rolled to the back of her head, she tightened her fore hoofs around her throat as if something was lodged in, her body shook, twisted and turned in a seizure like manner. Celestia quickly went to her side. "Lyra! She's not faking! I think something's wrong with her!". Lyra looked at her sister with concern, she was terrified, she didn't know what was wrong with her sister. "Wh-what do I do!?!" Lyra shouted. "Call in the guards! quickly!" said Celestia. Suddenly, Myra gasped. She stopped shaking and stared at Celestia, and Celestia saw that her eyes no longer color. Her pupils were still their, but they were empty, as if she was no longer conscious. She took in a deep breath of air before speaking. "The pits of anger will expose its flame! And engulf even the most kind of hearts in its core!" said Myra. Myra spoke, but it wasn't Myra's voice anymore. It had been replace by a voice that sounded like a demented old lady with asthma. Myra took in a deep breath of air before continuing. "And when the kind heart has fallen into angers flame-" Myra took a deep breath. "He will enter the pit itself, and accept his fate-"Myra took a deep breath. "And when the kind heart has chosen his fate, he will posses the power to destroy even the sun itself!" Myra took a deep breath. "For the pits are STRONG! And the once kind heart is STRONGER!" This time, Myra gasped as she inhaled more air. "The DAWN! The dawn is BREAKING!" she inhaled again. "He must be stopped, while his heart is still kind! For it will soon burn to the fire that is made from angers pit, and when it does-" she inhaled deeply once more. "It will be too late, and the dawn, the dawn, shall, BREAK!!!" She inhaled deeply, before shutting her eyes and blacking out. Celestia stared at Myra before returning to her senses. She deactivated the muffle spell and ran to the door. "GUARDS! GUARDS COME QUICK!" Celestia shouted. Two guards quickly ran to her, "your highness! What the matter! What's wrong!". Celestia pointed to Myra, who was lying on the floor with Lyra by her side. "There's something wrong with her! I need you to take her to the infirmary immediately!" said Celestia. The two guards nodded and galloped to Myra. One guard lifted her and placed her on the other guards back, they then galloped out of the room and down the hall. "Is my sister going to be alright?" asked Lyra. Celestia nodded, "I'm sure your sister will be just fine after a bit of rest". "But, what just happened? Why did her voice sound all funny? And why was she saying those things?" asked Lyra. Celestia stuck her head out her door and looked left and right to see if any pony was around. No pony was there. Celestia then closed the door and turned to Lyra. "I've told you I've lived long enough to tell the difference between seeing into the future and a hoax, correct?" Celestia asked. Lyra nodded "Well that, my dear Lyra, was NOT a hoax," said Celestia. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I assume you had a good day at school?" asked Celestia. A couple hours had passed ever since the incident that occurred in Celestia's bed chambers. Lyra had been sent to the infirmary with her sister, and is currently waiting for her to wake up. Celestia stayed for a short while before realizing how much time had passed. The elementary school children were leaving school and Glee would be sent from the school to the front of the castle with the royal coach, just like in the mornings. So Celestia had to leave to walk Glee back to the castle. When the princess arrived at the front of the castle, she saw Glee hopping up and down with pure excitement. "I had a super duper GREAT day at school! First, Mr. GreyBurn took us on a field trip to a forest so we can learn about all the different trees their, and while we were looking at all the trees, twilight found a dragonfly! And then, after twilight found it, we all wanted to have real dragons! So we started playing dragons, and we pretended we were flying! And then-" Glee ran out of breath from talking too fast. Celestia chuckled. "well you certainly sound like you had a very exciting day, why don't you tell me the rest when we get back into the castle?".Glee nodded. Once back into the castle, Glee told Celestia about everything they had done that day. Learning about tree's, Playing pretend dragons with Twilight, Green Bush, and the other fillies (Glee played the alpha dragon since he was the tallest out of all the fillies, he was even taller then the teacher Mr.GrayBurn), having a picnic in the woods, and so on and so forth. Glee had been talking nonstop about his day for a good ten minutes before he stopped and went silent. Then he asked Celestia, "mommy, am I a dragon?" "What makes you think you're a dragon?" asked Celestia. "Well, I'm bigger than all the other fillies at school, and I don't walk on all fours, and I don't have hoofs. I know I'm not a pony, so does that mean I'm a dragon?" asked Glee. Celestia didn't know how to respond. No he was not a pony, he walked on two legs, had arms, and no fur. Yet, he also wasn't a dragon, he walked on two legs and had arms like a dragon, but he also had hair, something dragons didn't have. He also had skin, not scales like most dragons tend to have. He had feet like a dragon, but he didn't have claws, he can hold things like a dragon with claws, but she didn't know what they were exactly. One of the biggest things Celestia noticed that made Glee different from both ponies and dragons was that Glee needed clothes. Clothes were usually worn to formal events, and during cold weather, and whenever a pony just felt like wearing clothes. She wasn't exactly sure when dragons wore clothes. They weren't the 'formal type' so they generally don't wear formal clothing, and they usually lived in damp caves or hot active volcanoes so keeping clothes in those conditions seemed a bit unlikely. Glee on the other hand HAD to wear clothes. Celestia and the doctors found out he needed clothes when Glee was old enough to stop using diapers. If Glee didn't wear clothes then, well, lets just say Glee would feel a bit embarrassed when ever he tried to walk outside. He also didn't eat like a dragon or a pony. Ponies ate fruits and plants, dragons ate fruits as well but instead of plants they ate minerals such as diamonds and gems. Glee ate fruit, but after a bit of research it turns out that Glee also ate meat. So, in order to provide Glee with the nutrients he needed to survive, the castle staff made special meat substitutes just for him. Its healthy for Glee but poisonous to ponies. Celestia has tried to find out what Glee was, but no amount research shows that his species has ever even existed before. Glee truly was the only one of his kind, Celestia didn't know whether he was the first or the last of his kind though. Celestia sighed. "no, you are not a dragon Glee, nor are you a pony." "But what am I then?" Glee asked. Celestia gave Glee a hug. "you are you, Glee Sunrise. You don't have to be a pony or a dragon, you are perfect just the way you are." Glee smiled. "But is there any pony else like me?" "Um.." said Celestia. She quickly tried to think of the best words for this question. Suddenly a guard appeared. "Your highness, she's awake," said the guard. "Good, I'll be on my way," said Celestia. The guard nodded then walked off. "Glee, I have some business to attend to, why don't you head off to room and start your homework?" said Celestia. "But, Mr.GrayBurn said that since todays the first day we don't have to do homework. Ooh! Can I come watch you do your work instead?" asked Glee excitedly. "I'm sorry Glee, but this is very important business that I have to attend. If you don't have homework then why don't you go play in the garden?" said Celestia. Glee frowned, "O.K. I'll go play in the garden." His smile quickly returned. "Ooh! I can play with my new ball!" Glee ran down the hall to retrieve his ball. Celestia chuckled as she made her way to the infirmary. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Celestia entered the infirmary. She saw Lyra standing next to her sister in the bed furthest to the back. "Hello Myra, how are you feeling?" asked Celestia. "I feeling just fine, thank you," said Myra, giving the princess a smile. Celestia looked out the window next to them. "You have a lovely view of the garden," said Celestia. Myra nodded, "yes, it is a very nice garden, you work in them don't you Lyra?" "I just work at the cherry trees, their at the back of the garden so you won't see them," said Lyra. The princess then stepped closer to Myra. "I hate having to ask you questions, since you've only just woken up, but this is very important. I hope you don't mind?" asked Celestia. "Not at all your highness, you can ask me anything," said Myra. "Very well, in that case tell me, do you remember anything that happened after you apologized to me?" asked Celestia. Myra scratched her head thinking, "well, I remember apologizing to you, then I went to apologize to Lyra, and then... nothing. I don't remember anything after that" said Myra. "You don't remember anything? Anything at all? No voices, or visions, or anything of that sort?" asked Celestia. Myra thought for a second before replying, "well, now that you mention it, I remember feeling like something was trying to get into my head, like it was trying to force itself into me," she explained. "Now, do you remember saying anything? Anything at all?" Celestia asked. "No not really, but I do remember this one word though, and I'm not sure what it means. Plus, I don't even remember saying it, or thinking it!" said Myra, a little concerned at this point. "And what was that word Myra?" Celestia asked. "Dawn Breaker," Myra replied. Lyra looked at the princess with a worried expression. Celestia looked concerned. Myra noticed this and asked, "what? What's the matter? What does it mean? Did something happen after I blacked out?" Lyra looked to the princess, "should I tell her Celestia?" Lyra asked. "Yes you may, she has the right to know, but I need you and your sister to promise me that everything that has happen must remain a secret, understand?" asked Celestia. Both mares agreed and Lyra then began to tell Myra everything that had happened. 'Dawn Breaker. what did that mean?' The princess thought about what the voice had said. 'Pits of anger, flames from the pit engulfing the kind heart?' None of it made sense, but whatever it was, it didn't sound good. She tried to go over and over again on what the voice had said in her mind, but it still didn't make any sense. She looked at a clock that hung above the infirmary door. 7:30, Time to set the sun, she thought. Great, she had to deal with everything that's happened today and she couldn't even have sleep to look forward too because of those blasted nightmares... wait, the dreams, OF COURSE! What if the dreams and what the voice had said were related somehow. He will enter the pit itself, and accept his fate. "he", then this must mean a man is going to enter a pit and accept his fate. But why would he enter a pit? Is he killing himself? no, the voice never mentioned anything that remotely sounded like suicide. The pit that this man entered in was called the pit of anger. She knew Equestria like the back of her hoof and she had never heard of such a place. Unless, that place doesn't exist, because its a metaphor! And when the kind heart has chosen his fate , he will posses the power to destroy even the sun itself! That's it! The kind heart is the man! And the man has accepted anger as his fate! It all makes sense! The man in her dreams! Why he always looked so angry! Its because something had happened, something that angered the kind man so bad that it changed him! But, something else still didn't make sense. The voice said that the man had the power to destroy even the sun itself. But that wasn't possible, to physically destroy something that was bigger than their own planet? Even the strongest ponies in all of history put together couldn't do it. Power to destroy the sun? this made no sense... unless, this was a metaphor too. In all the dreams that the man appears in, he attacks her. And the most information she could get from the man was that she had done something to him; something to anger him.... something to anger him! But, that could only mean that whatever had cause the kind man to change was because of her! She angered him, and now he wanted to attack her; to destroy her, for he was strong enough to destroy even the sun itself. That's why he attacks her. He's trying to destroy the sun for angering him. She lifted the sun and moon every day, but only because Luna wasn't here to raise the moon herself. That's it! That's what the metaphor means! The man is destroying the sun... and she WAS the sun. "Then Celestia called the guards and they took you too the infirmary, then four hours later you woke up and here we are" said Lyra. She had just finished explaining to Myra everything that had happened. Myra gaped at her sister in disbelief. "But, why would I say those things? I don't even know what any of it means," said Myra. "It would seem to me that a new prophecy has been created," said Celestia. Lyra and Myra looked at the princess confused. "Forgive me your highness, but I seem to have not heard you properly. For a second there it seemed like you said a 'new prophecy has been created' ," said Myra. "You did not miss hear me Myra, I did in fact say that a new prophecy has been created. Although, I hope I am wrong," said Celestia. "Princess, what do you men a new prophecy has been created? Are you saying my sister really DID predict the future?" asked Lyra. Celestia sighed, "I wish your sister had simply seen into the future, but this is more than that. Seeing into the future is a near impossible process, it takes very powerful ponies to even see seconds of the future. But if one does succeed into seeing the future, then they have just witness something that hasn't happened yet, something that could be or would be. But it could be changed. A prophecy however works differently. It is more than just seeing into the future, it is seeing into events that is permanently place into our future. In other words, when a pony does see into the future with a prophecy, then they have just witness a future that is meant to happened, thus, it cannot be changed." "But, I didn't see anything," said Myra. "Yeah, she didn't see anything, all we heard was a bunch of scary ghost words," said Lyra. "Prophecy can come in many forms, whether it be with words, writing, pictures, and under rare occasions, images," said Celestia. "So, you think that my sister just told a prophecy?" asked Lyra. "Perhaps, but there's the chance that this might not even be a prophecy at all," said Celestia "If it wasn't a prophecy, then what was it then?" asked Myra. "I'm not too sure, these sort of thing's are always confusing, you never really know if its a prophecy or not until it actually happens." 'That and the fact that Myra is still alive just proves that this might not be a prophecy' thought Celestia. 'Prophecies are very difficult to find, and could be dangerous if found. For a pony to receive a prophecy mentally takes a lot of power. if you're too weak, then telling the prophecy is the last thing you will ever do before death. Even Star Swirl the Bearded didn't predict a prophecy unscathed'." "So, prophecy or not, what does any of it mean then?" asked Lyra. "I have my suspicions, but there's something I'd like to ask of you Lyra, in private please," said Celestia. "Uh, sure princess, you can ask me anything," said Lyra. lyra was about to leave before turning to her sister, "I'm sorry about everything that's happened, I hope you feel better." "Thanks Lyra, I'm sure I'll be fine, just a bit tired that's all. But don't worry about me, you should go see what the princess wants, it seems important" said Myra. Lyra gave Myra a hug then turned to the door. "I'll see you later, love you!" Myra smiled and waved to her sister as Celestia and Lyra left the infirmary. Celestia and Lyra walked down the hall for a bit before turning to an empty room. "So, what do you want to talk to me about princess?" asked Lyra. Celestia checked to see if any pony was in the hall before locking the door. "There's something I need you to do for me Lyra, and its very important that you tell no pony else, can you do that?" asked Celestia. "Sure princess, I won't tell any pony, but by any chance, does this have to do with the prophecy? Or the not so prophecy? Honestly, I don't know what to call it, it all sounded so confusing to me," asked Lyra. "Yes, it some what does have something to do with the prophecy. This may sound a bit confusing, but along with your normal work as the cherry gardener, I need you to start keeping a close eye on Glee for me. Can you do that?" ask Celestia. Lyra looked confused, "Well, yeah I can watch Glee for you, but does he have to do with the.... hold on, you don't think he has anything to do with the prophecy, do you?" asked Lyra. Celestia didn't answer immediately, she looked out the window into the garden, then back at Lyra again. "It is merely a precaution, just to make sure nothing bad really does happen." Lyra couldn't believe what she was hearing, "but Glee's just a little boy! He hasn't done anything wrong! I've seen him play with the other fillies, I've seen him try to help the staff with their chores, I've seen him be kind and sweet and never rude to others! He hasn't done anything wrong! How could you even consider him being part of all this?" asked Lyra, struggling to keep her voice from rising. Celestia looked back at the window again before answering Lyra, "The prophecy said to stop him while his heart is still kind, before he changes." "You think Glee's going to change?" asked Lyra. "No, I believe Glee will grow up to become a young, healthy, responsible gentleman. That's what I believe, and you think so to, don't you?" asked Celestia. Lyra thought for a moment before nodding. "We both believe Glee will grow up kind and proper, but what if we're wrong?" asked Celestia. Lyra didn't answer, she didn't know what to say. Celestia walk closer to Lyra and placed a hoof on her shoulder, "I know it may not seem like the right thing to do, but you can't deny that something is different about Glee. And believe you me, I hope that this prophecy thing is just a fluke, and we can all go back to our normal lives. Until then however, we just need to keep a close watch on him. Can you do that?" asked Celestia. "Yes princess, I'll help keep an eye on him," said Lyra. "Good, I better go and set the sun then," said Celestia. She turned to the window again, staring. "Uh, princess, what do you keep looking at?" asked Lyra. The princess didn't answer, she galloped to the window at full speed and forced the window open. She look left, right, up, and down as if looking for some pony. She closed the window and returned to Lyra. "its nothing, I just felt we were being watched, that's all. We should get going, before every pony begin to realize the sun's been out for too long" said Celestia. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "You've been awfully quiet tonight Glee, are you feeling alright?" asked Celestia. Celestia and Glee were both getting ready for bed, Celestia combed her hair as Glee brushed his teeth. Glee didn't answer. Celestia looked at Glee concerned. "Glee, is there anything you need to tell me?" she asked. Glee rinsed of his toothbrush and began to walk out of the bathroom to his room. "Glee, why aren't you answering me? You know you can tell me anything, you know that don't you?" asked Celestia. Glee didn't answer, he had his back facing Celestia and his head hung low. Then, Celestia heard a small sob as Glee slowly turned. "Glee! What's wrong?" Celestia asked. Glee ran and hugged Celestia, crying into her chest. "I don't want to be different! I want to be a pony like you!" Glee cried. Glee cried into Celestia's chest for a few minutes before speaking again. "Why am I not a pony mommy? Why am I different?" Glee asked. Celestia thought for a moment before answering, "I don't know why your not a pony Glee, but I do know this. You can be a dragon, a pony, a dog, a cat, you can be born in any way shape or form. But it doesn't matter how you're born. What matters Is what you make of yourself. A dragon may seem big and scary, but if he show's a bit of friendship, then any one will love him for who he is." Glee sniffed and looked at Celestia. "Am I in trouble?" he asked. "Now why would you be in trouble?" Celestia asked. Glee shrugged, and Celestia place him on her back. "I think you just need a bit of sleep, that will make you feel better," said Celestia. Glee yawned, and Celestia took Glee to his room and placed him in his bed. "Good night Glee, I love you," said Celestia. "I love you too mommy," said Glee. Celestia then shut the door and returned to her own room. There, she rested in her bed and stared at the ceiling. 'Why would Glee think he was in trouble?' Celestia thought. 'Oh well, I'm sure I'll find out in the morning, best get some sleep'. She then shut off the lights and drifted to sleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She galloped as fast as she could, but it was no use. The castles hall wall had no end, it just kept going and going. "Moooooommmyyyyyyy, where aaaaaaarrree yuooooooo!" called a voice that echoed somewhere down the hall. She galloped faster, she turned her head to see if she was being fallowed. She saw a shadow in the distance, but she couldn't tell who it was; the smoke was too thick. "I'm coming closer mommy," the voice called again, indeed sounding closer. Celestia continued to galloped at full speed, until she came across a dead end. The hall had suddenly stopped, and there were no doors to connected to continue moving. She was trapped. "I just want you to love me mommy," the voice called out. Celestia tried to find a way to escape, but it was no use. She tried to use her magic, but that didn't work as well. She tried to fly, hoping to break through the wall, but it was another failure. "Why don't you love me mommy? I love you, why don't you love me? Is it because I'm different?" Celestia froze, the voice had change from dark and grunge to sweet and kind at the last words. She turned and saw Glee standing their, with tears in his eyes. "Glee" said Celestia. She reached a hoof out, hoping to hug him. Glee stared at the princess before snickering, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out the empty sword handle. He pressed the button and released the flaming blade that was held within the handle. His face lit up from the flame, and Celestia saw a scar on Glee's right cheek, in the shape of an 'X'. "Glee?" said Celestia. He raised the sword over his head. "You must have me mistaken for someone else" said Glee, with a sinister smile. He attacked. > Tough Love > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Humans, an entire planet populated with humans. Celestia knew that the magic mirror she had was a portal to another world, but of all the worlds that the portal could have sent you too, it just happened to be one filled with humans. It had been a year since Sunset Shimmers abandoned her studies and left into the portal. Celestia had sent guards after her, but it was no use, she escaped. It wasn't a complete loss however. Based off the information she had received from the guards who had traveled to this other world, she discovered that they had been sent to a world populated by creatures called 'humans' and they themselves were turned to humans as well. The portal took them to the front of a high school and the portal itself looked like an old statue. When they had returned with this information Celestia could not believe what she was hearing. This could be the world where Glee had come from, the place where he truly belongs! Celestia had tried to send her guards to retrieve more information on this strange new world, but by then the portal had closed. Sunset Shimmers would be trapped there for another 30 moons, and she now had to figure out what to do about Glee. Glee was now ten years old, he had lots of friends, was one of the three smartest kids in his school (Twilight and Green Bush were the other two), and has never gotten into trouble. Glee had also started becoming a bit of an adventurer, he loved to explore new places he had never seen before. He was always happy to make new friends and loved to spread joy to all the other fillies. He was kind and sweet to every pony he met. This hurt Celestia very much. She loved Glee very much, he truly was like a son to her. She loved to see Glee with all his friends and his eagerness to learn. She loved watching him explore and play and be kind to every pony. But, now that she knew where Glee had come from, she didn't know whether she should send him to his home world or let him stay. Glee had so many friends, and by sending him to his home world, he would no longer be able to see them again. Glee could just visit every thirty moons, but that would just make things harder on Glee since he has to leave them again for another thirty moons. Glee could just stay, but then Glee would never be able to see his own kind. That and she was afraid of how Glee would act when he came to puberty, he was growing up rather fast (Glee was bigger then all the ponies, a few more years and he would be taller then the princess). Celestia was torn between these two options, let her son stay and never let him see his own kind, or send him of to his world, and never see him again. A white unicorn with a blue cross for a cutie mark came into the throne room, "your highness, Glee's health results is finished". "Thank you nurse Blue Heart, and what does it say?" Celestia asked. Every living thing has magic, or at least, is supposed to have magic. Yet, ever since the day Celestia first found Glee, Glee has shown no sign of possessing even the slightest bit of magic. Celestia has done everything she could to fix this, from medicine to methods, but every check up always comes to the same conclusion. Glee Sunrise was a perfectly healthy ten year old boy, yet he showed no sign of having magic. Nurse Blue Heart shook her head, "its the same as last time princess, Glee still has no magic". "I was afraid of that, every living creature has magic, so for Glee to be the only one without magic, it worries me" said Celestia. "I could prescribe him to magitonen (a medication made for unicorns who are unable to use magic at an older age) again, if you like?" said Nurse Blue Heart. "No, that won't do, we've tried that many times before" said Celestia. "Well, there's not much left we can do you highness. It seems that Glee just doesn't have magic. Which, in all my years of being a nurse I have never seen any pony without magic before. Do you think this will affect Glee negatively?" Nurse Blue Heart asked. "I'm not sure quite yet, we'll have to wait until he's older, is Glee still with Twilight Sparkle by any chance?" Celestia asked. Nurse Blue Heart nodded, "yes your highness, they're in Glee's room, playing with a baby dragon". "That's good to hear, I'm going to go visit them, why don't you head home for the night, I am aware that its your daughter Red Hearts birthday, correct?" Celestia asked. Nurse Blue Heart nodded, "yes your highness". "Then tell Red Heart I said happy birthday" said Celestia. "Yes of course, thank you your highness" ,nurse Blue Heart left the throne room. Celestia finished her last bit of paper work for the night, then left the throne room herself. She walked down the castle hallway to Glee's room, when she had gotten closer, she heard muffled voices shouting inside. "He's getting closer, don't let the monster escape!" "Rrrrraaaaaaawwww!!!" 'Sounds like their having fun' Celestia thought. Celestia entered Glee's room to find it in a complete disaster. There was clothes everywhere, toys scattered all over the floor, a blanket fort was half destroyed in the corner, and for some reason, there was string attached to almost every part of the room. Suddenly, a small purple unicorn ran out of the half destroyed blanket fort carrying a purple dragon on her back. Behind her, was a small human (small for us, very large for ponies) wearing a werewolf mask. "He's going to get us!" the purple unicorn shouted. "Rrrrraaaaaaawwww!!!" "I hope you'll be able to find your way out of this mess" said Celestia, as she smiled at the fillie and the child. The child looked at Celestia, and gasped from excitement, "mom!". He ran to Celestia, giving her a hug. "Are you done with your work? Can I watch you set the sun?" Glee asked. "Of course you can, but your going to have to clean your room as soon as I finished" said Celestia. "But mom, that'll take forever!" Glee complained. "Well, if you don't want to clean then why did you make such a mess?" said Celestia, playfully. "Me and Twilight were playing, I was pretending to be a hungry monster! And Twilight was the brave hero, trying to stop me with her pet dragon!" explained Glee. "And the string is because?" "Monster traps!" said Glee. "Well it seems that you two have had quite a lot of fun, but I do hope you two are making sure that the baby dragons safe, he has only just recently been hatched" said Celestia. "Don't worry princess, I'll make sure nothing happens to Spike!" said Twilight, proudly. "Spike? Is that the name you chose for your dragon?" Celestia asked. Twilight nodded, "I thought it was a good name, but Glee wants him to be called Phoenix". "Phoenix? Why's that Glee?" Celestia asked. Glee started hopping up and down, excitedly. "Because, remember that book you gave me about the adventurer that saved Equestria from the Hydra? Well the adventurers name is Phoenix Sprite, so I thought it would be cool to call him Phoenix!". "But Spike's not even a Phoenix, he's a dragon! And that stories just a legend any ways" said Twilight. "I wouldn't be so sure of that" said Celestia. "What do you mean princess?" Twilight asked. "Well, would you believe me if I told you that I met her?" Celestia asked. Glee gasped, "you met Phoenix Sprite!?!" "Indeed I did, I met her quite a few times while she was on her travels, but she never stayed long. She was always running around, running with her companions" ,as Celestia said this, she appeared lost in thought, thinking of the days that Phoenix had been around. Glee looked at Celestia confused, "but, this story is a thousand years old, Phoenix isn't around any more, right?" Celestia awoke from her thoughts, "well, Phoenix was a unique sort of pony. She was able to live for a VERY long time, and even though she was in danger most of her life, she always seem to make it in the end. So, if Phoenix is gone, then I'll bet she lived a full life". "What do you mean "if" she's gone?" Twilight asked. "Well, I'm not sure if Phoenix is truly gone. You see, long ago there was a proud and powerful race of ponies known as the phoenix ponies. They lived on an island made of fire called Alburnia, and just like how I control the rising and setting of the sun and moon, these ponies could control the planets core and help keep it alive. The phoenix ponies also had a unique ability that could allow them to live longer! You see, just like phoenix's, phoenix ponies could burn themselves to ash and come back from the ashes as a foal! So even though its been more then a thousand years since I've seen Phoenix, there could be the chance that Phoenix is still alive" Celestia explained. "But princess, I've read about phoenix ponies and the books say that they don't exist" said Twilight. "Well, most historians will deny that the phoenix ponies ever did exist. When something's been gone for so long, some will believe that it was never there to begin with. Did you know that there's an empire entirely made of crystal?" Celestia asked. Glee and Twilight shook their heads. "Well, chances are, if you ask a teacher or an historian about it, they'll tell you there's no such thing. Because there IS an empire made from crystal, its just been gone for too long" Celestia explained. "But how come people remember Phoenix Sprite?" Glee asked. "Some ponies actions are powerful enough to be remembered for centuries. Even though most believe that Phoenix Sprite is just a legend, she still placed her mark throughout history for the things that she did when she was still around" Celestia explained. "But princess, if Phoenix Sprite is real, and the phoenix ponies were real, then what happened to all of them? Where did they go?" Twilight asked. Celestia had a bit of difficulty to answer this question, it hurt to even remember the monstrous fall of an entire species, along with her friend, let alone to even tell some pony about it. "I think you should wait until your older before I can tell you something like that" said Celestia. "Why? Did something bad happen?" Glee asked. "I'll tell you when your older. For now, you and I have a sun to set. Twilight, your parents will be arriving shortly, you should get ready" said Celestia. "O.K., bye princess, bye Glee!" said Twilight. She grabbed her saddle bag and departed with Spike on her back. "Bye Twilight" Glee said, as he waved good bye to his friend. "Now, what do you say we go set the sun now, shall we?" asked Celestia. "Ya!" said Glee. Together, they walked down the hall to Celestia's bed chambers and out onto the balcony. Celestia then lit up her horn and slowly began to set the sun. They watched as Canterlot shined from the light that was set off from the suns rays as it set. "Glee, what do you think of your friends? Do you like them? And do they treat you well?" Celestia asked. "Like them? I love being with my friends! We always have lots of fun together!" said Glee, excitedly. "And what about the city, and the ponies that live within the city? What do you think of them?" asked Celestia. "Some of them still feel uncomfortable when I'm around, but most of them are really nice!" "What about this world, what do you think about the world we live in?" Celestia asked. Glee shrugged, "Well, I've never left Canterlot before, so I don't really know, but I really like the city, and I really like how we can see Pony Ville from here! When I get older, I want to visit there!". "Why do you want to visit Pony Ville?" ask Celestia. "Well, an adventurer has to start some where, right? So I figured that Pony Ville would be the perfect place to start!" said Glee. "You still want to be an adventurer?" asked Celestia. "Ya! I want to see the rest of the world, and make all sorts of friends!" said Glee excitedly. 'Glee really seems to like being here, his friends, this world, everything. I can't just take that all away from him, I have to let him stay. Then again, maybe if I tell him about his own kind he'll reconsider' thought Celestia. "Glee, if I told you that there was a place with other humans, would you want to go there?" Celestia asked. Glee gasped, "you found them! You found other humans just like me!?!" "Its a bit complicated, yes we have found other humans, however, their not exactly from around here. They exist within another world, far far away from our own. Do you remember the day Sunset Shimmers ran away?" Celestia asked. Glee nodded. "Well, Sunset Shimmers ran away into a mirror that I keep locked in the bottom of the castle. This mirror was a portal to the human world, the world that you most likely came from" Celestia explained. "Are you going to take me there?" Glee asked. "Do you want to go?" Celestia asked. Glee shrugged, "I don't know, I mean, I want to see other humans like me, but I've never been with any before. What if their mean?" "Humans and ponies alike deserve the chance to be known, they may seem scary because you don't know them, but they still deserve a chance to get to show you who they really are" explained Celestia. "I know, I just, feel scared. I've never met another human before" ,Glee frowned. "What if you could find your parents in this world?" asked Celestia. "But you are my mom" said Glee. Celestia smiled at Glee, "yes, I have raised you as my son. But your real mother and father are probably worried sick about you. Wouldn't you want to meet them as well?" "I never thought about that. Do you think they miss me?" Glee asked. "I've raised you since you were a baby, and if I was to lose you, then I would search the ends of the Equestria trying to find you. So, yes, your parents miss you dearly" explained Celestia. Glee thought for a minute, then he hopped in place, excited. "O.K., I'll go to the other world, then I could come back and tell Twilight and Green Bush all about it!" Celestia frowned, she would have to tell Glee that if he went to the human world then he would never be able to come back. If Celestia told him this, then Glee will want to stay in this world for good. Celestia didn't know what to say, Tell Glee that going through the portal was permanent, or not tell him, and let him go through, not knowing that its permanent. That wasn't the right thing to do, she couldn't lie to Glee, telling him that everything will be fine and that he can just visit his friends in and out of the portal when ever he felt like it, because it wasn't like that at all. She had to tell Glee, but if she did this, then he would stay, then what about his parents. Parents... that's right, Glee had parents, real parents in the other world. And as much as Celestia wanted to see Glee grow up into a young gentle stallion (or in Glee's case, gentlemen), she couldn't take that opportunity away from those who had given birth to him, his real parents... his real parents. Sudden realization had hit Celestia, she loved Glee so much, she had raised him like he was her son, and that she was his mother, but she wasn't. Glee wasn't her son, and she wasn't his mother. His real parents are in that world, and the time had come to send him back to where he belonged. She knew this day would come eventually. She didn't know when, where, or how, but she knew that this day would happened. And she knew that it was going to hurt the day that it did come, but, she had never expected it to hurt this much. Glee had to go back to his own world, its where he belongs. Problem was, Glee has grown to love this world so much, he will most likely never want to leave. What could Celestia do about this, she couldn't force Glee into the portal, and persuading him would defiantly never work. If Glee didn't like this world so much, then maybe he'll want to go the other world... that's it! Glee wants to stay in this world so much! What if he didn't like it here, and he wanted to leave to the other world! That's how Celestia could get Glee to go to the human world, she has to make Glee hate this world!.... but, how? She was Princess Celestia, she helped to bring friendship to all of her subjects, not take it away. She couldn't just take away all of the things that made this world so amazing to Glee, well, she could, but that still wouldn't feel right. Yet, it seemed like it was the only option left. If Glee could hate this world, then he'll seek a better life in the other world, finding new friends, new adventures, and his real parents.... his real parents. Yes, Glee had to leave, he had to go into the portal, for his parents. And the only way Glee would leave is if Glee hated this world, and that would mean Celestia as well. It hurt Celestia to do this, it hurt just as much as when she had to banish her sister to the moon, if not worse. But she had to do it, for Glee, and his parents. "Glee, starting tomorrow your going to be home schooled, and I don't want you to see any of your friends any more. Your also not allowed to leave the castle into Canterlot" said Celestia. Glee looked at Celestia, shocked. "Why mom? Did I do something wrong?" Celestia slowly shook her head, "no, you didn't. Something's just come up, that's all. You'll be able leave into the world eventually, but for now I need you to stay in the castle at all times, do I make myself clear" Glee looked into Celestia's eye's, this made him sacred. She was so serious, and Celestia only expresses her seriousness when something bad is happening. Reluctantly, Glee nodded. "Good, then why don't you go clean your room now, the sun is just about finished. Also, could you get Lyra Cherry Blossom for me as well?" Celestia asked. Glee nodded, and left. Ten minutes later, the sun was down, it was night time. Lyra knocked on the princess's door. "You called, princess?" "Yes, I called you here to discuss of a, rather, difficult decision that I have made" said Celestia. "I'm all ears, what this about?" Lyra asked, as she took a seat next to the desk. "Its about, Glee, and how I have decided to send him to the human world" explained Celestia. Lyra froze, she was shocked to hear Celestia say this, not because what she said was shocking, but because Celestia had said it so nonchalantly. "Uh, O.K., so what do you need me for?" she asked. While Celestia had been talking to Lyra, she had been facing out the balcony. She wouldn't face Lyra as she spoke. "Glee has come to love this world that he's grown up in so dearly, to the point that I fear he will never want to leave to the human world" "So if Glee doesn't want to go, then why not just let him stay?" Lyra asked. "You don't understand, Glee belongs in the human world, thats where his real parents are". "But you are his real mother, you may not have given birth to him, but you still raised him as your own. He's definitely considered your son in my book" said Lyra. "Thats very nice of you to say Lyra, but as much as I love Glee as a son, I can no longer keep him. If I do, then I would deliberately be taking a son away from his family, and as much as Glee wants to stay here, I cannot let him. His real family is in that world, he belongs there, not here" said Celestia. "So, you called me in here because you want me to say goodbye to Glee?" Lyra asked. "No, what I am about to ask of you will be very difficult to do, and it will seem very wrong, but what we need to do must be done. For Glee's sake, can you please help me?" asked Celestia. "Sure, anything princess, just tell me what it is and I'll help" said Lyra. Celestia didn't answer immediately, she stood there, staring out into the darkened horizon. It was clear to Lyra that what Celestia was about to ask of her was hurting her emotionally. Celestia took a deep breath, and slowly turned to Lyra. Her eyes had traces of tears in them, she hadn't been crying, but she was struggling to force herself not to. "I need you to tell the staff and the guards to no longer interact with Glee in any sort of way. From now on you and the rest of the ponies in the castle will treat Glee as if he isn't even there" Lyra looked at Celestia with a shocked expression. She then gave a weak chuckle. "You... your joking, right? You wouldn't really want me and the others to do that to Glee, would you?" she asked. Celestia didn't answer, she didn't need too. She gave Lyra an expression that told her that she meant every word of what she had just said. "But, why!?! He hasn't done anything wrong! Is this because of that prophecy you heard of from two years ago?" Lyra asked. Celestia hadn't taken too much thought about the prophecy recently. Yes, she had been thinking about it over the years, but right now she was a bit preoccupied with something more important to even think of the prophecy. "No, it isn't about that" Celestia replied. "Then why are you doing this? This isn't like you princess, you spread friendship, not take it away. Why do you want to take it away from Glee?" Lyra asked. Celestia sighed, "I don't want to take it away from Glee, I love him, and I love seeing him with friends, but I can no longer allow him to make friends, at least, not in this world. Glee has spent his entire childhood in this world, and if we try to send him back to his world, he won't want to go. He'll try to stay in this world that he's come to love so much. So, in order for him to go back to where he belongs, he'll have to not like this world so much. In other words, we have to make Glee hate this world, in hopes that he'll seek out a better life in the human world" Lyra didn't know how to respond to this, Celestias logic seemed pretty legit, but it just didn't seem like the right thing to do. "Can't you just tell Glee that going to the human world is permanent?" Lyra asked. "If I did that then Glee would want to stay in this world even more". "How do you know that if you haven't even tried?" Lyra asked. "If you had to leave your home, your friends, everything you loved and cared about just to leave to a world that you don't even know about, just because some pony comes and tells you that that world is where you belong, would you be so keen as to go to that world, knowing that its permanent, knowing that you have to leave your entire life behind?" Celestia asked. Lyra hadn't thought about it that way, right now, Lyra had a great job, lots of friends (one of them being the princess, so that especially made her happy), a loving family, her dream home, she had so much to love and care about. She would never want to leave it behind, even if she didn't belong in this world. If some pony told her that she had to leave this world behind forever, she would fight back, and stay. She would never want to leave this world behind, and neither would Glee. "No, I guess I wouldn't, but isn't there something, anything we can do? Maybe he could visit, or we could find a way to keep in contact with him, or maybe we could-" Celestia had just walked up to Lyra and placed a hoof on her shoulder, cutting Lyra off. She looked into Lyra's eyes, and frowned. "I'm sorry, I've tried to think of every possible option that we have, but there just isn't any. The only option we have left is to let Glee hate this world, and hope that after he does, he'll find a much better life in the new world. A life with new friends, new opportunities, and his real parents. A life that he wont ever have to leave behind. I'm sorry Lyra, I'm so sorry for asking you to do this, but there just isn't any other option. Please, help me do this for Glee?" ,as Celestia asked this, her voice gave a slight crack. Celestia was struggling with great difficulty to not cry. Lyra looked at the floor, she didn't know how to answer Celestia. Celestia was her friend, and she'll help her with anything, anything at all. Just, not this. She couldn't do this to Glee, Glee deserved better then this. He deserved a happy life full of happiness and friendship. He deserved a life that he could cherish forever, but then again, maybe that's why Glee had to leave, so that he could get that life that he deserves. But in order to give Glee that life, they had to take away his old on first. It hurt Lyra so much for what she was about to do, but knowing the princess, Lyra knew that she was feeling worse. Reluctantly, she nodded. "Yes, yes I'll help you" Celestia gave her a hug, "thank you, I'm so sorry for asking you to do this". "Don't worry about it, as long as Glee's happy in the end, then its all worth it" said Lyra. Lyra let go of Celestia, and headed for the door. "So, you want me to tell all the staff, and the guards, right?" Lyra asked. Celestia nodded, "and tell them that this order will be effective immediately". Lyra nodded, then exited the room. She gave Celestia a concerned glance before leaving and shutting the door behind her. Celestia slowly walked to the her bedside table and lifted the photo of her, Glee, and Sunset Shimmer at the park. She stared into Glee's smiling face, and as she did so, a tear fell from her cheek. "I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry. I hope that one day you'll understand, my little Glee Sunrise". > Farewell, Glee Sunrise > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Night had fallen over Canterlot castle, for Celestia had just finished setting the sun. She had made her way downstairs from her bedchambers and into the throne room. Currently, she was sitting at her throne, waiting for the guards to make their return. She took a sip of tea that had a pinch of relaxation potion within its contents (she had been very stressed recently, today was by far the worse), and as she did so, she heard the sounds of hoof steps approaching the throne room door, as well as muffled voices that were shouting. Celestia was able to figure out one of the voices immediately. As the voices came closer, a guard entered the throne room. "We have retrieved him, your highness" said that guard, as he gave a bow. "Good, bring him in" said Celestia. The throne room door opened, and as it did so, the throne room was filled echoed shouts, coming from the one that the guards had just captured. He was a five foot tall thirteen year old boy. He was very scrawny and wore green ragged sweat pants, brown boots, and no shirt. His hair was dyed black and had grown to shoulder length. It was very messy and greasy (he had stopped taking care of his hair a while ago). He had cuts and bruises on several parts of his torso ('he most likely fought with the guards' Celestia assumed), and had his hands and feet cuffed in shackles. "I told you to lay your hoofs off!" he shouted, swiping his arms away from the guards. "Where is your shirt, young man?" asked Celestia. He turned to Celestia, giving her a devious smile, "it was hot tonight, you can't expect me to be fully clothed when its hot". "You know you have to be fully clothed Glee" said Celestia. "But ponies don't have to wear clothes, so why should I?" "Because your not a pony, and you know why you have to wear clothes, now put your shirt back on" Celestia demanded. A nearby guard threw a shirt into Glee's chest, and removed the shackles that held his hands together. Reluctantly, he put it on, "fine, whatever!" While Glee was putting on his shirt, Celestia asked sarcastically, "So, did you enjoy your time with that cult again, Glee?" When Glee had finished putting on his shirt, he gave Celestia another devious smile and asked, "so mom, how's your night been?" "I think you know how my nights been Glee!" said Celestia angrily. Glee shook his head and tsked at Celestia, "nope, sorry I don't think I do know, seeing that the only time I get to talk to you is when you have your goons in shinning armor come after me, no offense to you Shinning Armor, well, I guess technically you can take double the offense sense your both a goon, and your names Shinning Armor!" ,Glee said this in a mocking sort of tone. Shinning Armor, who was standing at his post near the door gave him an angry look, but didn't respond. Glee chuckled, "fine, be that way, none of you talk to me any way so I'm forced to go and find those who will, speaking of which, thanks for lowering the sun mom, you made it a lot easier for my friends and I to break into that house, it being dark and all. But do you think you could have less stars next time? Cause I'm pretty sure that's why mister buck nasty over here caught us" as he said this, he gave a nod to the guard standing closest to him. "Glee! What did I say about using that type of language!" Celestia shouted. Glee chuckled, "oh come on, there just words, its not like they can hurt any pony" , Glee then turned to the guard he called buck nasty. "Isn't that right buck nasty? You don't mind if I call you buck nasty, do you buck nasty?" Glee said this to the guard as if he was a puppy. The guard sneered at Glee, but said nothing. Glee turned back to Celestia, "see? He doesn't mind". "Glee, that's enough! You are not allowed to call any pony by those vulgar words any more! And what's this I hear about you and that cult trying to break into Filthy Riches house?" asked Celestia. Glee groaned, "you call them a cult like its a bad thing" he complained. "I've told you to stay away from them Glee! The rattlesnakes are a very dangerous cult who like to recruit fillies and teenagers into their groups and turn them-" "And turn them into thieves and muggers, yadey yadey, yada! You can call them what you want, but their my friends, and making friends is important, isn't that right mom?" Glee interupted, mockingly. "Those so called friends of yours had just tried to get you to break into the house of one of the most richest ponies in Equestria, if Brave Stone hadn't found you-" "You mean if he hadn't arrested me?" Glee interrupted. "You could have been in worse trouble then you've ever been in in your life! Don't you understand what kind of consequences you could have faced?" Celestia shouted. Glee sighed, "well, the thing is is that, I was planning on getting myself caught doing something big, something grand, something amazing! I wanted to get caught doing something awesome! Seeing that tonight's the night that I, well, move away". Celestia understood what Glee meant, "and you thought that just because of that, you could get away with your crime?" Glee shrugged, "eh, pretty much". Celestia sighed, "I raised you better then this-" "Oh really? Cause last time I checked, you stopped raising me since I was ten. The last three years you and every pony else has just pretended that I don't matter! The last three birthdays, nothing! Not even you showed up! Every time I was sick, I had to take care of myself! I had to teach myself, feed myself, bathe myself, wait I'm supposed to do that anyways, but you get the point! So for you to sit there on your "all mighty princess throne" and tell me that you raised me better, all I've got to say is ha! Bull, ship!" Glee interrupted. The guards around Glee looked at him in disgust. Celestia stared at Glee angrily, "if I hadn't found you when you were a baby, who knows what could have happened". Glee smiled at her and said softly, "then maybe you should have just left me there". Celestia and Glee stared at each other for a few seconds, before Celestia turned her head to take another sip of tea. When she had finished, she stood up, and began walking to Glee. "If you feel that way, then I guess you wouldn't mind leaving into the human world, would you?" Celestia asked. "Yeah, I guess I wouldn't" Glee responded angrily. Celestia approached Glee, and used her magic to unlock the shackles that held Glee's feet together. "I want you in the basement in half an hour, understand?" Celestia asked. Glee nodded, "yeah, sure, I understand perfectly well, not like there's anything left here for me any ways". Glee turned and began walking to the throne door. As he was about to exit, he turned to Celestia, "Hey, mom". "What is it?" Celestia asked. "Well, I just, just wanted to say that I... I..." ,before Glee could finish, his eye's began to tear up, and he turned away. "Never mind!" he said angrily, slamming the door and running down the hall. Celestia sighed, and returned to her throne. As she sat down, Lyra appeared from out of no where. "Need another one?" she asked, offering Celestia another tea filled with relaxation potion. "Oh! Oh my goodness, you startled me! Thank you Lyra" said Celestia, accepting the drink from Lyra and taking a sip. "So, today's the day huh?" Lyra asked. "Indeed it is" said Celestia, sadly. It had been three year ever since Celestia told the staff and guards that they could no longer interact with Glee. Glee had changed very much ever since. Glee hadn't shown any sign of changing at first, for months he tried to get all of the staffs attention. He tried in every sort of way to get any pony at all to interact with him, to speak to him, anything. Yet, it was no use, the staff had continued to obey the princess's orders and not acknowledge Glee in any sort of way. Eventually, Glee had become desperate, so desperate that when he was twelve he had tried to attack one of the cleaning ponies, forcing the guards to stop him. Then, Glee noticed that the staff and guards began to pay more attention to him when he got himself caught into trouble, so that's exactly what he did. He stopped taking care of his clothes, causing all of his shirts and pants to be in awful condition (his clothes practically looked like rags). He had stopped taking care of his hair when he was twelve, and when Celestia had lectured him about this, he decided to dye his hair black and grow it out of spite. He befriended a group of diamond backs when he was twelve (diamonds backs are the name given to teens who will soon be joining the rattlesnakes cult) and had been in serious trouble ever since. It started out small, pick pocketing ponies, stealing from food stands, that sort of thing. Eventually, Glee had started breaking into and robbing homes. After Celestia discovered this, she had decided to investigate Glee's room. He wasn't allowed to leave the castle, and the guards did an excellent job making sure that he didn't leave, so how was he getting out at night, and how did he even meet the diamond backs? Although Celestia never found out how Glee became friends with the diamond backs, Celestia did find out that Glee had somehow carved secret tunnels under his bed that lead him to the outside of the castle (Celestia and her guards eventually found the exit on the front yard of the castle, it took them a while to find it because they couldn't enter the tunnel to see where it led, Glee made it big enough so that only HE could fit through). After discovering this, Glee had all of his possessions taken away, including his bed (everything except a stuffed teddy bear that Glee had grown attached to). When Glee was thirteen, he kept himself out of trouble long enough so that he could obtain all of his possessions back, and tonight was the first night in a long time that Glee had really gotten himself into trouble. Glee had changed so much since then, he was still full of energy, but his energy always seemed negative. He would mock and make fun of ponies, and he would pull lots of pranks on them. He would graffiti on the walls of the castle (and in Canterlot if he gets the chance to). He was also very rude and vulgar to every pony he came in contact to, he was no longer the gentleman the he had grown to be in the past. All and all, Glee had appeared to hate everything around him, so it would seem that Celestia's plan worked. Now, it was time to finish her plan once and for all. It had been exactly three and a half years since Sunset Shimmers had disappeared into the portal to the human world, now the portal would reopen for twenty four hours, and Glee would be sent off to the human world forever. These past three years have been very difficult on Celestia, but it would all be worth it in the end as long as Glee could find a better life within the human world. "How are you feeling?" Lyra asked, placing a hoof on her shoulder. "Very distressed, but, its almost over" said Celestia, as she gave Lyra a weak grin. "What are you gonna do after its over?" asked Lyra. Celestia's grin quickly faded, "I'm not to sure. Glee will be where he belongs, so I guess I'll just... have to move on. Things will go the way they used to back before Glee was ever around.Or at least for another five years it will". "What's happening in five years?" Lyra asked. "Don't worry about it, just... some pony I haven't seen in a long time should be returning by then" Celestia explained. "Are you and this pony close?" Lyra asked. Celestia thought about whether she should tell Lyra or not, but decided that it would be best for every pony not to know about Luna's return just yet. "Yes she is very close" "Do you wanna tell me who this pony is?" Lyra asked. "Why don't we start heading off into the basements now. Perhaps I'll tell you another time" said Celestia. "Um, sure, if that's what you wanna do then, off to the basements we go!" said Lyra. Celestia, Lyra, and four guards began to make there way down to the castle basements. The castle basements were cold and musty. The walls contained no paint or wall paper, so the bare brick stones were fully exposed. The basements were mostly used for storage, emergencies, and various other things, the most important of which being located in the room at the far end of the basement. The portal to the human world. Celestia used her magic to open the steel, wooden door, revealing a large purple mirror with purple diamonds encrusted into it. It sat in the middle of the empty room. The glass of the mirror glowed, indicating that the portal was open. "Everything is ready your highness. Glee may proceed through the mirror" said the guard named Brave Stone "Thank you Brave Stone. Is Glee ready?" Celestia asked. "I have one of my men keeping watch on Glee as he packs his things. He'll bring him down as soon as he finishes" said Brave Stone. "Very good, now, lets get this over with". "Are you sure you wanna go through with this?" Lyra asked. "If I wasn't sure about this then the last three years would have been for the nothing. Yes I am sure, and, I'm ready" said Celestia. All six ponies waited for Glee to arrive, with all of his possessions packed and ready. Celestia felt her heart beat fast, she tried to keep focus on the door opening any second, revealing Glee with his things. Yet, Celestia felt weak, and dizzy. All those years spent with Glee, raising him, taking care of him, loving him, all of this was about to end, and it was going to end with Glee hating her. This much stress was overwhelming for Celestia, she hadn't felt this way ever since she had to banish Luna to the moon. It felt like she was doing it all over again, except this time, she was banishing Glee to the human world. She knew she wasn't really banishing him, that she was sending him off to where he belonged, so, why did it feel like she was banishing him? Celestia began to breath in and out slowly and would extend her fore leg in and out as she did so, hoping to relax her self, and as she did so, she thought about the first time she taught Glee this trick. [FLASHBACK] "Do you have all of your school supplies packed?" asked Celestia. Celestia and Glee had just arrived at the school, it was Glee's first day of kindergarten and Celestia wanted to talk to Glee's teacher before leaving him for the morning. "Yes mommy" said Glee shyly, he held his bag up to his nose, keeping his face hidden. "What's the matter Glee? You were so excited to go to school you were practically bouncing off the walls, why do you not seem so exited anymore?" asked Celestia. As Celestia and Glee exited the royal coach, Glee tried to hide behind Celestia. "I'm scared" said Glee. "Of what Glee?" Celestia asked. Glee used his hand to motion to Celestia that he wanted to whisper something in her ear. Celestia bent her head forward close enough to allow Glee to whisper to her. "What if every pony's mean to me?" Glee whispered. Celestia gave Glee a smile, and whispered back, "if you want to make friends, then you have to give them a chance. They may seem scary because you don't know them, but they deserve the chance to show you who they really are. You just need to be brave and let them show you". "But what if I can't be brave?" Glee asked. Celestia looked around, pretending to make sure that no pony was listening. "Do you want me to tell you a super secret trick to make yourself brave?" Celestia asked. Glee nodded, excitedly. "Very well, but if I tell you this, then you have to share this trick to some pony else who is also scared some day, understand?" asked Celestia. Glee nodded again. "Good, in that case, here is the super secret brave pony trick!" Celestia said as Glee gasped from excitement. "First, you place you fore leg against your chest like this (Celestia demonstrated with her own foreleg), you don't have fore legs so you'll use your arms instead". "Like this?" Glee asked, as he placed his arm in the correct position. "Yes, that's it, now, your going to breath in and out slowly, and when you breath out, extend your arm away from your chest. When you breath in, bring your arm back to your chest. Keep dong this until you feel relaxed" Celestia explained. Glee looked at Celestia confused, "but mommy, how will this make me a brave pony?" "If you keep yourself relaxed, then you can accomplish even the scariest of tasks. Super brave ponies do this all time. Why don't you try it?" asked Celestia. Glee nodded, and began to do exactly what Celestia had taught him. After doing this four or five times, he looked at Celestia and smiled. "I feel like a brave pony now!" Glee exclaimed. Celestia chuckled, "good, because its time for the brave pony to start school, are you ready to make some friends?" Glee began hopping up and down excitedly, "Yeah!" ,Glee shouted. [FLASHBACK ENDS] 'Glee was so much smaller back then' Celestia thought. The pain in her chest had suddenly gotten worse. Thinking of the past was only going to make this ordeal a whole lot worse then it already is, so Celestia decided to keep her focus on the door, and her breathing (which by now she had started breathing heavily from stress). Time seemed to pass by very slowly while they waited in that room. Half an hour had started to feel like much longer then it was. If Celestia didn't know better, she'd say that- "Brave Stone, how long did you say it would take for that guard to bring Glee here?" asked Celestia. "I don't think I mention it, your highness" said Brave Stone. "Well, how long do you think it should have taken" asked Celestia. "About fifteen minutes" Brave Stone replied. "And how long has it been?" asked Celestia. The guard reached into his armor pocket, and pulled out an old fashion pocket watch. "Its been almost an hour your highness" said Brave Stone. Celestia was afraid something like this might happen, "what do you thinks keeping them" she asked. "Don't worry about it princess, I'm sure there just taking there sweet little time walking down here" said Brave Stone. Suddenly, a voice could be heard from the other side of the basement. "Glee's escaped! All guards in positions! Glee Sunrise has escaped the castle!" Brave Stone looked at Celestia, with an "oops, my bad" sort of expression. "Uh... or they might be taking a while because... their not even coming" said Brave Stone, sheepishly. Celestia immediately bolted out the door, through the basement, and up the stairs. As she ran up the tower and into Glee's room, she found the guard that had been keeping watch over Glee unconscious, and two medic ponies were helping to revive him. As Celestia entered, she saw that the entire bed room was in ruin. There was a large burnt circle in the center of the room, and it appeared as if everything in the room had been pushed away from the circle. Everything was either broken or burnt, the only thing in the room that appeared un-damaged was a book shelf that contained lots of books for learning, several books on Phoenix Sprite, a couple of sandwiches and bottles, and an old purple vase that she gave to Glee when he was seven. 'Glee, what did you do?' thought Celestia. There were several guards in the room, all of them investigating to see where Glee could have gone, one of the guards lifted up Glee's bed (or to be more specific, he picked up the bed frame, since the mattress and blankets had nearly burnt to ash), revealing a hole in the corner of the room. "Your highness! I think Glee must have escapes through here!" "Can you enter and follow?" asked Celestia. The guard shook his head, "negative, he's carved the hole too small for us to fit through". "Then we mustn't waste time, I want two squads of guards searching Canterlot from the sky, and three squads of guards searching the outer perimeter of the city. If any of you find Glee, bring him to me immediately, un-harmed, if not, then report back to me in half an hour" commanded Celestia. "Yes, your highness!" obeyed the guard, he and the rest of the guards left the room immediately. Celestia had ran so fast that Lyra had just barley made it to Glee's room, she was panting when she arrived. "Sweet Celestia you sure can run!" ,as Lyra was catching her breath, she suddenly noticed the room was practically burnt and destroyed, she also noticed the two medic ponies helping the guard (who had just started waking up at this point). "What... what happened!?! Where's Glee? Why's his room destroyed? And what happened to him?" Lyra asked, pointing to the guard who was with the medic ponies. "It appears Glee has escaped, and it would also seem that he.... is dangerous" said Celestia. "Wait, Glee did this? But, he can't even bench press a metal bar by itself (Lyra knows this because she saw Glee try to exercise one time, it didn't end well) let alone destroy his room and take down a guard. Do you think he used magic?" Lyra asked. "No, Glee doesn't have magic, I'm not sure exactly what or how he did this, but rest assured I will find out. For now, I need you to go to the castle library and retrieve a map of Equestria as fast as you can and meet me in the throne room, understood" asked Celestia. Normally Lyra would question why Celestia would need her to retrieve something so quickly, but in the current state they were in she decided not to question and just fallow along. "Sure, I'll meet you in the throne room in five minutes" said Lyra. Celestia nodded, "good, and hurry". Lyra nodded and bolted down the hallway. Before Celestia left, she picked up something off the floor and made her way to the throne room. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thirty minutes had passed, and just as Celestia had commanded them, the guards had returned from their search. Celestia and Lyra were sitting together at the throne as the guards entered the room. "No sign of Glee Sunrise your highness. It appears he's not even in Canterlot anymore" the guard reported. Celestia sighed, "I was afraid of this. In that case I want two squads of guards to make their way to Pony Ville as fast as they can and begin searching there" Celestia commanded. "Yes your highness!" replied two of the squad leaders. They then immediately rushed their squads out of the throne room and down the hall. "Why have them search Pony Ville? It takes hours to get there just by train let alone on hoof" asked Lyra. "Because, if Glee really has escaped from Canterlot, then the first place he'll want to go is Pony Ville. He always wanted to go there, but he never got the chance," said Celestia, sadly. She suddenly turned to Lyra. "Lyra, did you bring the map?" she asked. Lyra nodded and handed Celestia the map of Equestria, "yup, I got it right here!" "Good, now we'll have a better chance at finding Glee" said Celestia, as she used her magic to roll out the map, and placed paper weights on each corner to keep it flat. "How are you supposed to find Glee with a map? Are you going to cross out the areas we've already checked?" Lyra asked. Celestia shook her head, "no, I'm going to use a spell that'll help track down Glee". Lyra looked at Celestia, amazed. "Really, wow! I didn't know there was a spell for finding ponies! How come ponies don't use this spell all the time when their searching for each other?" Lyra asked. "Because the spell only works if you have a map, and you have an item that is most cherished by the one you are searching for" explained Celestia. As she explained this, she used her magic to levitate something from behind her and placed it on the center of the map. It was a partially burnt teddy bear that she had given to Glee when he was two,and he had kept it ever since. "Wait, if you gave that teddy bear to Glee, then how's this spell going to work? You know, seeing that he doesn't exactly... eh..." ,Lyra paused, thinking of the nicest way to say this. "Appreciate you anymore?". "Glee still cares for me, even after the way I treated him I can see it in his eye's. Glee still loves me" explained Celestia. She lit up her horn, and as she did so, the teddy bear began spinning. "It could take a few minutes, but the spell will activate, and when it does, we'll know exactly where Glee is" said Celestia. And just like Celestia said, the teddy bear stopped spinning, and slowly levitated in between Canterlot and the Rambling Rock Ruins. The teddy bear began to move slower then a snail, making its way to the ruins. "He's not going to Pony Ville, he must've know we would try to locate him there, GUARDS!" Celestia shouted. Two guards immediately rush through the throne room doors and in front of the throne. "You summoned us, your highness?" one of the guards asked. "Yes, I need you to send your best men over to the Rambling Rock Ruins, I believe Glee is trying to make his way over to Dodge City. I also need you to send your fastest men to the squad that I had sent to Pony Ville, and tell them to change their course to the Rambling Rock Ruins as well. Tell them that Glee will be arriving there, and I want you to surround him when he does, he could be dangerous so capture him, but don't harm him" commanded Celestia. "Yes your highness!" said the two guards at the same time, they then bolted out of the throne room. "You think they'll be gentle when they find Glee?" asked Lyra. "I hope so, but if Glee does put up a fight then, it hurts me to say this but, they'll have to capture Glee by force" said Celestia. Celestia and Lyra then began to watch the teddy bear make its way to Rambling Rock Ruins, in silence. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It had been thirty seven hours ever since Glee escaped from Canterlot. The guards had tried their best to search for Glee and bring him back to the castle as fast as possible, but failed. They then went to plan 'B' and decided just to wait until Glee arrived at the ruins. If Celestia had been stressed before, it was nothing compared to how she was feeling now. The portal to the human world had resealed itself, and would stay that way for another three and a half years. Now, she had to figure out what to do with Glee once the guards bring him back. Glee was going to be in serious trouble, Celestia was certain of that, but what was she going to do to prevent Glee from running away again? Glee has clearly shown that he's capable enough to make it this far. Not only did he take down a guard, escape the castle, and move non-stop day and night without being detected, but he had some how not stopped to rest or take any breaks at all. Celestia had kept a close watch on the teddy bear, and the teddy bear has been slowly making its way to the ruins ever since. The teddy bear hasn't stopped moving once, not even for a second. Once the guards did return with Glee, Celestia didn't even know what to do next. She could lock him up for the next three and a half years, but she couldn't bring herself to even think of such an awful thought. "Celestia" said Lyra. What if she had him kept in his room for three and a half years with guards standing outside his door? No, she couldn't do that, she might as well be locking him up. "Celestia!" Lyra called out. What could Celestia possibly do? She knew Glee had to be punished, but how was she going to punish Glee when she's already taken everything away from him? "CELESTIA!" Lyra shouted. Celestia awoke from her thoughts and looked to Lyra. Lyra was pointing at the map, the teddy bear was less then a quarter of an inch to the ruins. Glee was about to arrive and be ambushed by a very large group of guards. "Well, Glee has made it quite far, but now it is time for this chase to come to an end" ,Celestia looked away from the map, she couldn't bare to watch the teddy bear slide on to the ruins. Glee could get hurt by those guards, and she knew it, she just hoped that Glee wouldn't put up too much of a fight, that way he could return with less injuries. "Celestia, the bears on the ruins, and it stopped" said Lyra. "I know Lyra, thank you" said Celestia, softly. They waited in silence for fifteen minutes, Celestia knew that at any second, the teddy bear would begin to make its way back to Canterlot, indicating that the task of retrieving Glee was finished. "Please Glee, don't be harmed" Celestia whispered to herself. "Uh, Celestia, is the teddy bear supposed to be doing this?" Lyra asked suddenly. Celestia turned back to the map, and gasped. The teddy bear had begun moving again, moving slightly faster then snail speed (which in this case would mean that Glee was traveling over 80 MPH, give or take). The teddy bear had also begun to move in the opposite of Canterlot, instead it was now heading towards the Badlands. "What! What's happening, how's Glee moving so fast!!!" said Celestia. She had began panicking now, and rushed over to the throne room door. "GUARDS! I NEED GUARDS IMMEDIATELY!!!" Celestia shouted as she threw open the doors. Several guards came to her call. "Your highness! What's the matter, is something wrong?" , one of the guards asked. "I need you to send every available guard that we have on duty to the Badlands right now! Every single last one! And you all need to hurry at top speed! If you don't then Glee might just escape out of Equestria!" Celestia commanded. 'Yes your highness!" said the guard, as he turned to the other guards around him. "You heard the princess, get every available guard that we have on duty right now! And that's an order!" "Sir yes sir!" said all of the guards, they all ran down the hall, in search for more guards to spread the message. Celestia then closed the doors and returned to the throne with Lyra. "Lyra, I need you to hurry back to the castle library and find me maps of the surrounding countries. Glee's about to make it to the Badlands at an incredibly fast speed, and if he does, then he'll be at the border of Equestria! If he passes that border, then the teddy bear will no longer be able to locate him unless we have a map of that country, do you understand?" asked Celestia. Lyra nodded, "I do, but, how is Glee making it to the Badlands so fast? And what happened to the guards who were after him, didn't you send, like, fifty men after him?" Lyra asked. "I sent thirty men, and I'm not sure what Glee did, or how he's doing it, but one things for sure and its that we don't have much time until Glee makes it to the Badlands. So I need you to get those maps immediately! Please" said Celestia, with a tone of desperation in her voice. Lyra nodded, and ran down the throne steps, out the throne room, and down the hall. Celestia began to pace back and forth, thinking of what Glee was doing to make himself travel at such fast speed. Perhaps he managed to take down one of her guards and is forcing him to fly him to the badlands. This can't be the case, if Glee had tried to take down even a single guard, he would have had twenty nine other guards coming as back up. Perhaps Glee has a pony as a hostage? No that wasn't it either. Those guards were very well trained and could catch up to any pony. If Glee had taken a pony hostage, then that pony has either trained his entire life, or just happens to be the fastest flier in Equestria (which that wasn't possible seeing that the current fastest flier in Equestria was a Wonderbolt living in Clouds Dale). She didn't know how Glee was pulling this off, and this bothered her immensely. Celestia awoke from her thoughts and looked at a clock that hung from above the throne room door. It was 7:27, even in the current situation she was in, she still had her princess duties to attend to. Celestia rushed up the castle and into her room, then out onto the balcony. She then lit up her horn and began setting the sun. 'This is going to take a while! Hopefully Glee doesn't make it to the badlands by then' thought Celestia. After thirty minutes of setting the sun, she immediately rushed down the castle and back into the throne room. When she arrived, Lyra was sitting at the throne holding a pile of rolled up maps in her forelegs. "Where have you been this whole time! The teddies about to make it to the Badlands!" said Lyra. Celestia sighed, 'good, they haven't made it yet' ,she thought with relief. "Sorry about that, I had to set the sun, how close are they" asked Celestia, as she made her way to the throne. "Very close, a few more minutes and he'll be there" said Lyra. When Celestia made it to her throne, she sat down, took the maps from Lyra, and began arranging the countries in the correct order. "There, now if Glee passes in to any country in the world, we'll know exactly where he is" said Celestia, letting out another sigh of relief. "So, now we just wait... again?" asked Lyra. "Yes, now we must wait, and hope that the guards can catch up to them" Celestia replied. They waited in silence, as the teddy came closer to its destination. Celestia felt her heart pound with every suspenseful second that passed. She might not actually be there to witness everything happen, but the teddy bear inching its way to the Badlands was just enough to make to make her feel severely distressed. The teddy bear was half an inch away. Celestia began to breath heavily, and felt that she was sweating. A quarter inch away. Celestia wiped her forehead with her leg, and stared intently at the teddy bear. The bear had arrived, and suddenly stopped. "Why is it stopping, did the guards catch him?" Lyra asked. Celestia didn't know, if Glee really had been intending on leaving Equestria, he wouldn't have stopped when he was so close to victory. Perhaps the guards really did catch up to him. "I don't know, perhaps they did. If they did then-" Celestia was cut off by the teddy bear suddenly glowing. The teddy bear had begun to glow into a bright blue haze, as it slowly levitated itself into the air above the map. When it was five feet above the map, it stopped rising, and the blue haze had suddenly turned a dark crimson. The glow had begun to grow, as it grew, the haze itself had became so bright that it was nearly impossible to even look at. Suddenly, just as the haze had grown to its peak, it exploded. The haze appeared to have broken as if it was made of glass, and all light from the teddy bear disappeared as it did so. The teddy bear then fell on top of the map, completely motionless. Lyra looked at the princes, then to the teddy bear, then to the princess, then back to the teddy bear again. "Princess... what happened?" Lyra asked, her eyes bulging at the no longer glowing teddy bear. Celestia stood motionless for a few seconds, her mouth gaping at the teddy bear. Then, she lit up her horn in an attempt to get the teddy bear under her spell again. It didn't work, so she tried again, lighting up her horn at the teddy bear. It failed again. "No" said Celestia quietly, she lit her horn up again, only for the spell to continue to fail. "No!" said Celestia even louder, she didn't give up, she continued her attempts to reactivate the spell. However, it was no use, the teddy bear remained motionless. "NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!"with every shout, Celestia stomped her hoofs against the ground and still continued to reactivate the spell, only for it to fail with each attempt. After the twentieth attempt, Celestia fell to her knees and began to sob. Lyra quickly rushed to Celestia, she wrapped one leg over Celestias back and patted Celestia gently with her other hoof. "Celestia! What happened, what's wrong?" Lyra asked (she tried to keep her voice calm, but seeing the princess cry made it very difficult, so her tone came out more scared then calm). "It won't move! The bear won't move!" Celestia cried, she buried her face into her hoofs and continued to weep. "Then make it move! Don't give up, I know you can do it!" said Lyra, hoping to make the princess feel better. "You don't understand! The teddy bear is no longer moving because Glee no longer cherishes it! He must've known we were using a searching spell on him! And now, he...he..." Celestia couldn't finish, she didn't need to, Lyra understood what she meant. Glee cherished that teddy bear because it was the first toy that Celestia had ever given him. He had kept it all these years, even as a teenager. Even though he may have not acted like it, deep down, he still loved Celestia, and that's what allowed them to use the teddy bear in the first place. Now, the teddy bear was no longer moving. If Glee had indeed known that they were using a spell to locate him, then chances are, he could have also know how to prevent the spell from working. If they could locate Glee with one of his most cherished items, and he didn't want them to locate him, then all he had to do was stop cherishing his beloved item. And for him to stop cherishing his teddy bear, the first toy that Celestia gave him, the item that showed proof that Glee still loved Celestia, this meant that Glee no longer loved Celestia. He hated her, and this caused the teddy bear to no longer work. Glee was no longer family or friend, he was now their enemy. Lyra hugged Celestia tightly, comforting her as Celestia cried into her hoofs. "I failed Lyra, I failed Glee!" Celestia cried. "You haven't failed princess, Glee may be gone, but we can try to find him together" said Lyra, softly. "But Glee will never return now! And we can't find him anymore because he... he..." Celestia couldn't finish, she continued to cry into her hoofs. Lyra sat with Celestia, comforting her from what felt like hours. Eventually, her crying soften, and when she began to calm down she wiped the tears from her eyes and said softly, "Lyra, may I have a minute alone please". "Are you sure you want to be alone right now?" Lyra asked, softly. "Please, just... give me five minutes" said Celestia. Lyra nodded, she gave Celestia a hug and walked across the room and out through the door. Celestia was alone now, there wasn't a single guard in the castle, they had all left to find Glee. Her staff had left home for the night, and she had sent Lyra out of the room. She was alone, alone so that no pony could hear her cry. She reached out for the partially burnt teddy bear and hugged it tightly. She laid down on her throne, and began crying into the teddy bear that had once been cherished by Glee. Glee, the one that she had raised ever since he was two, the one that she had loved and cared for, the one that she could call son. He was gone now, gone to who knows where. Glee was out there, somewhere in that huge world, and she could no longer find him. Not only had she made Glee no longer love her, but she had also caused Glee to run away from the place he used to call home. He didn't pass into the portal to the human world, his real parents may no longer ever get the chance to meet him. She had failed. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!" Celestia cried, as she began crying harder into the teddy bear. So many memories were passing though her head, Glee's first day of school, Glee's first time not using diapers, Glee's first words. "I love you mommy!" said Glee. Celestia froze, she looked up from the teddy bear and saw a two year old Glee sitting in front of her, smiling. Celestia couldn't believe what she was seeing, slowly she began reaching her hoof out towards the two year old Glee. "Did you say something?" Celestia asked, smiling back at Glee. Glee smiled in the biggest, most happiest smile that Celestia had ever seen, "I love you mommy!" Celestia reached her hoof closer, "I... I..." Before she could finish, she had reached her hoof to Glee's cheek, she tried to place it gently upon the babies face, but the moment her hoof touched Glee, he disappeared, as if he was a pile of sand that had just been blown away by the wind. Celestia's smile quickly faded, and she began softly crying again, "I love you too". She gently placed her head on the teddy bear, gently crying into its fabrics. "I love you too, my little human" > Only Human > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- They thought they could catch me, they thought they could banish me to that awful world. She sent all of her men after me, but even her best soldiers couldn't catch me; I'm too strong. Even so, I couldn't escape without a little help. If those dragons hadn't been camping in the ruins when I got there, who knows what could've happened. As thankful as I am for them getting me out of that mess, I'm still gonna be stuck with them for a while. I'm in their debt now, so I have to do what they tell me, at least, for a while that is. I guess it won't be that bad. While I'm with the them I'll have shelter, plenty of food and water, and I can train myself. I can train myself for when I- AAGH! Jam it... this head ache... its making my head all fuzzy. Guess I should rest for a while, I have been running for two days straight. How did my life get this bad anyways? Oh yeah, that's right, it was when that stupid princess found me in the bushes. She took me home and pretended to love and care for me, and I, being young and stupid, didn't see through her bluff. She never loved me. She never cared for me. None of them did. Its because I'm a monster, a freak! So now, I'm all alone, forced to take care of myself from now on, all because of the things that happened in my past. Its all because I wasn't born a pony. All because of who I am. So now I lay here, resting from my two day journey, thinking about how my life had gotten so bad. I replayed in my head the events that unfolded; my feelings, thoughts, and secrets, and realized something. It has to be this way, for I am different. I am the only creature of my kind.
