> Two Moons Working Together > by RariDash > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > An Unlikely Friendship > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trixie, after Twilight tricked her into taking off the amulet so everybody could see she was just a fraud, had been traveling for days looking for any town that didn't already know about the incident and think she was a fraud. Trixie now found herself in a forest with no light guiding her except for the faint moonlight peaking through the trees. "Hurumph" said Trixie "Everypony already thinks I'm a fraud. It's all Twilight's fault!" She sighed "No...it's MY fault...I'm the one who took that amulet and put it on, I'm the one who tried to show off in the first place. If only I knew as much magic as Twilight, then maybe I wouldn't need to show off and think I'm hot stuff." Trixie's horn illuminated as she took a flask from underneath her cape and took a swig from it. "At least the apples were kind enough to give me some cider before I left." An Owl hooted right next to Trixie, causing her to jump and start looking around, making her realize she was completely lost. "Surely I shouldn't STILL be in this forest. I've been walking for hours...I should have gotten out of here by now." She gulped. "I...I can't possibly be lost...The Great and Powerful Trixie never gets lost..." She lit her horn to help her see but it only revealed trees surrounding her. "Not even a path to follow...It's like no one has even been here before...maybe...maybe I'm in an uncharted part of Equestria! What if I never find my way out!" She started to run. "What if no one finds me and I end up lost forever or worse?!" Trixie, not watching where she was going, suddenly tripped over a tree root and was sent tumbling down a cliff. "SOMEPONY HELP MEEEE" she cried. Trixie was sent tumbling down branches upon branches until she finally hit the ground with a loud thud. She managed to open her eyes, but everything was so blurry she couldn't see anything but a mesh of colors that were the trees around her. She tried to get up but the pain was so unbearable she just stayed on the ground. "S...someone...a...anyone..." She said with a straining voice. She lost consciousness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trixie slowly opened her eyes as she found herself covered up with blankets in a bed. "Where am I?" she asked herself. As she looked around she noticed the room was a dark blue color with some stars painted onto the walls, and a fire raging in the fireplace. Maybe the whole thing was a dream? But that still didn't answer her question. While she was trying to make sense of what happened, the door swung open revealing the princess of the night. "P...p...princess Luna!?" She tried to get up to bow but instantly stopped when she felt the pain again. "I would not recommend getting up just yet. You are pretty beaten up." "How...How did you find me?" "I have the ablility to enter dreams. Yours was completely dark, so I knew something was wrong. I managed to track you with my magic. How did you end up way over there?" "I wish I knew. I was just walking around trying to find a place to stay when I found myself in that forest." "Well you should be glad I found you. If it wasn't for me, you may still be lost." "Thank you..." Luna walked over to the window. "I saw the battle you had with Twilight." Trixie's cheeks went red "Y-you did...?" "Yes. I understand you used an amulet to increase your powers." "Please understand I was just angry that she showed me up..." "I never said I was angry. I wanted to say that I believe you have great potential even without it, and I would like to see what you can do." Trixie laughed. "I would like to, but I can't right now." "I meant when you are healed. But since that will take too long, I will do it myself." "Wha-?" Trixie asked as her body was surrounded by a blue aura. She felt all her bones snap back into place and the pain finally go away. "Let's go, I want to see what you can do." Trixie was about to ask her how she did that, but before she could a glow of blue surrounded the two of them as the both disappeared in a cloud of sparkles. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The two reappeared in an empty field with Canterlot in the distance, and a large pile of supplies to make a house surrounding Trixie. "So what is this?" Trixie asked. "I want you to build yourself a house. Grab the supplies with your magic, and imagine your house. If you do it right the supplies should turn into the house you are thinking of." "Okay...I'll try..." Trixie's horn illuminated along with the supplies. She imagined the house she wanted to build and the supplies started to form into that thought. She was quickly interrupted by a flashback. The house in her head morphed into the house she used to live in as a foal. "No..." she whispered. The memory zoomed into the house where it showed her mother in the kitchen cooking. Her dad sitting at the table with Trixie. "So...what grade did you get in class today sweetie?" Trixie handed her dad the report card which had a big 'F' on it. He stared at it for a bit, licked his lips, and told Trixie to go play with her toys. She happily did so, skipping off towards her room. Her father then turned to her mother. "Can you believe this?" "What?" Her mother replied. "An F! In Magic Kindergarten!" "Look, you are taking this too seriously. It's just Kindergarten, she's a kid, she gets distracted a lot. Calm down." "Calm down? Clam down?!" He slams his hooves onto the table. "I refuse to calm down! Our daughter can't even do good in Kindergarten! I have never seen anything like this! She's worthless! She shouldn't even be a Unicorn!" A sound of a glass cup breaking is heard at the doorway leading into the kitchen. Her dad slowly looks over. Trixie is standing there in front of a broken cup that read "Best Dad Ever". He goes to say something but before he can Trixie is out of the house within seconds. He runs after her, but it's no use. She's gone. The memory fades and Trixie opens her eyes. She built the house in the shape of her childhood house. "That was impressive." Luna said with a bit of excitement in her voice. "Really?" "Definitely. I can tell you have more than enough potential. Let's go inside and talk about what we can do next." The two smile as the enter the newly made home. > Growth Spells and Catching Up With Old Friends > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The bedroom curtains flew open and revealed a bright light which went onto the sleeping Trixie's face. "hmmm" Trixie groaned "Wha-?" She sat up and saw Luna before her "C'mon Trixie we have a long day ahead of us" Trixie nodded and threw on her hat and cape and walked out of her bedroom and into the kitchen. She began to make herself some breakfast. "Want some?" Trixie pointed her hoof to a bottle of pancake mix "I'm not really hungry" Luna's stomach growled "...maybe a few" They both laughed as Trixie grabbed the bottle with her magic and poured it into the pan with a sizzle. Luna licked her lips in delight. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They walked outside into the bright sunlight. Trixie immediately put a hoof over her eyes to block out the light. "Ugh...it feels like I have been sleeping for a year" Trixie said in a groggy voice. "I too feel this way." Luna yawned. "It seems like we have done nothing for a year now." The two looked over at the 4th wall for a bit and then back to each other. "So what are we doing today?" Trixie finally asked. Luna thought for a moment. "We could try spellcasting...if you feel like you are up to it." Trixie smiled and nodded. "I can handle it." Luna smiled back and replied. "We won't do anything too difficult since you are still learning the ropes...but we can start with either a Growing Spell or a Voice Changing spell." "Growing Spell" Trixie said. "Then I won't have to wait for my cabbages to grow all the time." Luna looked at her, puzzled. "What do you mean?" "Well I have a cabbage field. And when they are ready I harvest them and put them on that table over there." Trixie points a hoof at a table by the front of the house. "But some idiot keeps destroying the table, ruining all my cabbages!" "So that's why you yell 'MY CABBAGES' some times..." Trixie snorted resulting in smoke puffing from her nose. "...then I guess we try to practice on the cabbages..." Luna said nervously. The two walked over to Trixie's cabbage patch which was full of cabbage leaves. Trixie got angry just by seeing them. "Ok, how do we begin?" "Well first you grab the leaves with your magic" Trixie's horn illuminates along with the leaves. "Okay, now what?" "Then you focus the magic on the center while still holding the leaves. Then you proceed to pull up on the center will thinking 'grow'" Trixie begins to pull up on the middle while whispering the word 'grow'. The leaves suddenly spring to life and the middle grows to full size. Trixie is astonished by the sight. "That...that wasn't so hard..." she said. "Well it's not too difficult on vegetables. " "Ohhh I wonder if I could..." Trixie's horn starts to glow along with Luna's muzzle. "W-what are you..." Luna is cut off as a mustache suddenly grows onto her face. Luna gives Trixie a stern look creating a long moment of silence. Trixie awkwardly laughs as a big grin forms on her face. Then after a few minutes Luna spawns a pair of scissors and cuts the mustache off. "Don't ever do that again." Trixie sighs "Well you're no fun..." "Sorry but I don't really feel like looking like...well you" "Oh haha. You saw that did you?" "I'll admit me and Celestia were watching from Canterlot eating popcorn..." Luna's cheeks turned rosy red. Trixie's eyes narrowed. "I'll admit that's pretty practical." "Thank you" "But it doesn't make it any less degrading." "Well honestly you put up a good fight. I saw potential in you. After all you can learn to do all those things without that silly amulet." "Really?" "Really." Trixie hugged Luna smiling. "Thank you for saying that" They hugged for a bit longer until Luna backed up. "I really must be going. I promised my sister that I would go hang out with her today. I can't remember the last time we ever did anything as just sisters and not princesses." She unfurled her wings. "I'll catch up with you later Trixie." Trixie waved her hoof as Luna took off toward Canterlot. "Hmm...what to do..." Trixie pondered the question for a bit until she decided that she should go to town and she what's what. She just hopes that everypony forgave her. She knows Twilight did, but she is unsure if everyone else did. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trixie walked into Ponyville nervously. She glanced around seeing all the familiar faces from when she was practically a dictator. She thought if ponies like Rarity would really forgive her based on how she treated them. Regardless she continued to walk into town. She kept glancing at ponies who seemed to just smile and wave at her as if the whole thing never happened. "Strange...I guess they all really do forgive me..." Trixie thought for a moment. "I will never understand why these ponies are so friendly..." Trixie was so lost in thought she didn't notice that she was about to run into a bouncing Pinkie Pie. Pinkie also didn't notice Trixie since she was too busy humming a song. The two crashed into each other causing a huge cloud of dirt to surround them. When the dust cleared the two shook their heads before opening their eyes. "Trixie?" Pinkie hopped up and gasped. Trixie rubbed her head and opened her eyes. "Oh...sorry about that Pinkie..." "It's alright, Trixie!" Pinkie extended her hoof out to Trixie and helped her up. "So where have you been?" "Well I just felt so bad about the whole enslavement thing, so I just wondered around for a bit. I eventually ran into Luna and we've been training ever since." "Oooo, training with royalty I see." Pinkie smiled. "And don't worry Trixie, it's all fine now!" "R-really?" "Abso-dutely-lutely! If there is one thing Ponyville is known for, it's being very forgiving. I mean look at Spike, he tore apart Ponyville as a giant Godzilla-like monster, but we still love him! And that's because he apologized. As long as you apologize it's all fine!" Pinkie started hopping in place. "Oh...well thank you Pinkie. I actually feel a lot better now." "Of course you do!" "Is Twilight in town?" "She should be in her Library, see you later Trixie!" Pinkie hopped away. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trixie walked over to Twilight's Library and knocked on the door. From inside Twilight's voice called out for her assistant. "Spiiiike. Can you get the door?" The door opened up to reveal a small purple dragon. "Oh hey Trixie! Twilight is upstairs studying spells. Come in." Spike stepped back allowing Trixie to come inside. "Spike who was it?" "It's me..." Trixie's voice startled Twilight so much that she fell off her bed and fell from the 2nd floor onto the first flood with a huge thud, causing all the books to fall off the shelves. "Aw come on! I just organized these!" Spike said with a huff. "Oops...sorry" Trixie said with a nervous smile. Spike sighed. "It's fine...I had nothing to do today anyways..." Twilight got up and shook her head and ran over to Trixie with a big grin plastered on her face. "Um...hi?" "Oh sorry, It's just been so long since I saw you last!" "I didn't think you would be this happy to see me..." "Well I like making friends, and I was hoping that one day we could...I don't know...hang out or something. When you left I wasn't sure if I'd see you again. I'm just so happy I am!" Trixie blushed. "Well I was so worried about coming back since that whole enslavement thing..." "Oh, don't worry. If there's one thing Ponyville is known for, its-" "Very forgiving, yes I know. Pinkie just gave me a run-down." The two laughed. "Well...do you want to go somewhere and talk?" Twilight asked. "Sure." "Spike you'll be okay by yourself right?" "Of course. I'm the master at this." Twilight laughed. "Okay, but don't eat too much. You know what happened last time." "There's nothing to eat here anyway, Twilight. Don't worry." Twilight and Trixie leave closing the door with magic. Seeing they left, Spike jumps down and goes to his bed. There he retrieves a bucket of candy he was hiding from Twilight. He licks his mouth in delight. "I don't care how much I eat. It'll be future Spike's problem..." He takes a big handful of candy and starts eating away. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight and Trixie are eating at The Hay Burger while Trixie is catching Twilight up on what's been going on. "Wow really? You're training with Princess Luna?" "Yeah. She said I have potential even without that silly Amulet." "Well I look forward to seeing your progress." "As do I. I want to see what I can do." Trixie takes a bite of her hay burger. "So you two live in a house together then?" Trixie swallows. "Well It's my house, but she does sleep there sometimes yeah. I mean she has a castle and royal responsibilities. I can't expect her to be around all the time." Twilight takes a few swigs of her drink. "I can see that. But It's good you finally have a proper place to stay." "I know, sleeping in the cart really started to hurt my flanks..." Twilight giggled and took a few bites of her burger. "So what's been happening with you, Twi?" "Not much really. Everyone else has had a bunch happening with them. Why just recently Rainbow got accepted into the Wonderbolts Academy. I've just been keeping to myself lately. Practicing spells and whatnot." "I've been the same actually. I haven't gotten out much since our fight. This is actually the first time I've gone out and socialized since then, since I was afraid of everyone thinking I was a fraud." "Well it's all fine now. So don't feel afraid to visit every once and a while" Twilight smiled. "Oh I won't, I like spending time with you." "As do I." Trixie raises her drink. "To friendship?" Twilight also raises her drink. "To friendship." They toast their cups and exchange smiles. "So where is Luna right now?" "Oh, she and Celestia went to spend time together as sisters." "Good for them, I bet all that royal business gets in the way of that...I can't imagine how hectic it must be." "Me either." Twilight finishes her burger and gets up. "It's been nice catching up Trixie, but I have to get back home. I can bet Spike ate all that 'secret candy', that he thinks I don't know about, and got sick and is now praying to Celestia that I come home now. See you later Trixie." Trixie waved, finished her burger, and threw some bits onto the table before leaving. Trixie walked out of The Hay Burger and looked around. "I'm glad nopony hates me." Trixie smiled and trotted home humming "C'mon Everypony Smile".
