Blitz slowly dragged his feet across the polished floor towards the main foyer, the bell signalling the end of school has rung ages ago. By now, Blitz would usually be hanging with his friends or playing soccer, but NOOOO, Principal Celestia had stolen his after-school freedom due to yet another window broken by his soccer ball, and made him replace the person who was supposed to introduce the new student to Canterlot High.

"Who would want to have some person following them all the time? I don't need to be stuck with someone like that..." Blitz muttered to the ground. Blitz is the coolest guy at school and the most popular with the girls, he cannot be seen with some clueless newbie!

He heard another pair of sneakers squeak against the black and white lino ground and looked up, a slender shape strolled out of the shadows, she was dressed in a simple pale blue singlet, white shorts and denim fingerless gloves. She had medium-length natural rainbow coloured hair (like Blitz's) that was tied into a high ponytail, and bright watchful eyes.

"You're the new kid, right? Principal Celestia said that I should show you around... Name?" Blitz yawned.

"I'm Rainbow, you?" She said smoothly, ignoring Blitz's unwelcoming manner. Her magenta eyes glared into Blitz's lilac ones.

"Rainbow? What a cheesy name," He sneered, taking out his anger on the vibrant haired girl.

"Lets see you do better," Rainbow retaliated, stepping forward towards Blitz and crossing her arms.

"Blitz," He replied, turning away and started to walk towards the classrooms, stopping only for a second to signal Rainbow to follow, "I'll show you your classrooms," A bored Blitz informed her.

Rainbow hesitated for a second, then trailed after him "Can't you show show me the more cool parts of the school first? I was told this school promotes sport. Can't you show me around the pool or field or something? And besides, I don't want to already be knowing the classrooms I'm gonna get stuck in," Rainbow said, stroking the violet section of her hair and dismissively looking up at the barely lit ceiling.

At the word 'sport' Blitz stopped walking and turned around to look at Rainbow, immediately interested, "You into sport? What types?"

"Well, duh, I'm into sport, love soccer, and I'm only the fastest runner around!" Rainbow bragged, starting to feel more at ease.

"You? Fastest? But you're so short!" Blitz placed a hand on top of her head and brought it back to the base of his neck, emphasising his point.

Rainbow snapped back to attention and glared at him "So what?"

"You sure I'm not faster?" Blitz teased, competition flaring in his eyes.

"Yes! I can beat anyone, anytime, anyday!"

"Bet you can't keep up with me!" Blitz challenged, then sped off into the dimly lit hallways. Rainbow grinned, and tore off after him, catching up.
Blitz peered over his shoulder and almost tripped over when he found Rainbow not falling behind him but running next to him.

"She's actually pretty good..." He thought as he regained his composure, To most people, this is already fast. But Rainbow... She makes it looks so easy. Everything she can do, I can do!. Blitz crashed through the school doors, heading towards the soccer field, heading straight towards one of the two soccer goals. Last 200 metres... Lets see how good she really is Blitz slowed down, stopping at a steady jog, out of his peripheral vision, Blitz saw Rainbow do the same and gave him a confused look as if to say, "Really? I thought you were better than this!" I am... He thought silently. Giving a burst of speed, he launched himself forward. He heard Rainbow gasp in shock, but surprisingly reappeared at his side. The two athletes sprinted, neck-to-neck, towards the soccer goal. At last, Blitz skidded to a stop next to the goal and turned to face Rainbow.

He was impressed by Rainbow's agility, no one has matched his speed like that before, "Not bad," he said to Rainbow, running a hand through his spiky multi-hued hair.

"Heh... That was nothing" Rainbow replied with quick gasps for air, "You're not so bad yourself,"
She flopped down onto the grass, her cheeks flushed pink from the sprint. Blitz sat down next to her, glad to be resting his aching muscles,

"Heard you like soccer... Wanna join the soccer team?"

Rainbow patted her ponytail and looked over to Blitz, smiling brightly, "Seriously? Of course I'll join"

"Great!" Just come to the tryouts tomorrow!" Blitz teased.

"... I don't like you," Rainbow said playfully, tugging off her left glove and throwing it at Blitz.

"You sure? Everyone else can't get enough of me!" Blitz grinned and lay down next to her, handing the glove back "I'll show you your class rooms tomorrow," he said, trying to catch his breath, "Your classes are mostly the same as mine anyway,"

"Sure, OK" Rainbow answered, brushing a few wisps of red hair out of her face. They both closed their eyes, letting the gentle breeze sweep over their faces as they relaxed their tensed bodies. Suddenly, a beep echoed across the field, Blitz opened one eye as Rainbow fished out a phone from her pocket and scanned the text on the screen. She stood up, still shaky from the sprint, "Well, I gotta go now, I'll guess I'll see you at that big statue of that horse thing in front of school tomorrow,"

"Cool," He replied, stretching, "See ya tomorrow"

"Bye," Rainbow nodded and ran off back towards school, but not before giving a playful salute to her newest friend.

Blitz jogged towards the school as he did every day, the sun was shining brightly in the crystal clear sky, the air was warm and sweet, great day for sport. He turned the corner, entered the school gates and was instantly surrounded by the usual crowd of girls trying to get him to notice them.

“Great hair today Blitz!”

“You can keep the pen you borrowed yesterday!”

“Awesome game last week, Blitz!”

“Party my house tomorrow, Blitz!”

“Do you remember me, Blitz? I sat next to you in History class last Friday!”

“Love your new shoes Blitz!”

Blitz just flashed his blinding grin, leaving them sighing and arguing who he smiled to. He left the crowd to do their bickering and walked towards a skinny boy with spiky ice blue hair and golden eyes, his best friend.

“What did Principal Celestia say?” asked Thunderlane, reminding Blitz of Rainbow.

“Not much,” Blitz replied, “She told me to show the new girl around school,”

“Another admirer?” Thunderlane joked, “Not that you don’t have enough,”

“Nah, she seems cool,” Blitz said as the bell rang, “Well, see ya later,”

Thunderlane waved goodbye and ran towards the school. Blitz waved back and looked around for Rainbow. He found her sitting on top of the horse statue.

“Didn't you hear the bell ring?” Blitz called up to her.

“Of course I did, I was just waiting for you… Slowpoke”

“... Okay then Dash,”

“...”

“You realise I’m gonna call you that. Constantly,”

“... I don't like you,”

“Good to know, C'mon 1rst period class is English,”

“Great.” Rainbow grumbled sarcastically.

Blitz grinned “Won't you be glad that we have PE 3rd period?”

“Shut up, just show me where class is,” Rainbow groaned as she hopped off the statue and landed softly on the concrete ground

Blitz jogged up the stairs to the main entrance with Rainbow following close behind. “24A, Miss Cheerilee,” He said, “I’ll go talk to her first, you can wait here,”

Rainbow nodded and leaned against the wall with her arms crossed. Blitz knocked on the classroom door and went in.

“Hello Blitz,” said Miss Cheerilee, “May I please have an explanation for why you are late?”

“Oh, yea… Umm. Sorry Miss Cheerilee, I was just gonna start showing the new girl ‘round school, you know…. Like what Principal Celestia told me to do?” Blitz answered.

“Oh, yes, the new student… Would you like to tell her to come in?” Said Miss Cheerilee, ignoring Blitz’s bold remark.

Blitz opened the door, “You can come in now” He said, then turned to sit down at an empty desk as Rainbow strode into the room.

“Hi everyone, I’m Rainbow, and I moved here from Cloudsdale High,”

“Welcome Rainbow, I’m Miss Cheerilee, your English teacher, I sincerely hope you will enjoy your time here at Canterlot High” Miss Cheerilee smiled, “Go choose a
desk and sit down now,”

Rainbow saw a few empty seats dotted around several strange faces.

“Over here!” A familiar voice called, Rainbow’s eyes flickered to the other side of the room to see Blitz gesturing towards a desk to the right of him, she smiled and walked towards the seat.

-- 1 hour later --

“And that concludes today’s lesson on Shakespeare, due to the excellent work all of you did on your last assignment, I will relieve you of homework this week,” Miss Cheerilee waited for the cheers to die down before continuing, “You are dismissed, please walk to your 2nd period classes quietly,”

Blitz started to get up but was flocked with admirers asking him what his next class was, even though he was sure that they already knew. Ignoring all of them, Blitz went over to Rainbow and handed her a piece of paper, “Your school schedule,” Blitz said, “You’re in a different math class than me so…”

“I can figure it out myself,” Rainbow said, taking the paper and standing up from her seat.

“Ok then, I’ll see you at interval,” Blitz replied with a wave, then exited the classroom with a crowd trailing behind.

Rainbow sighed, looking at her schedule to check her math class.

“12A…” Rainbow jumped at the sound of a female voice behind her and whipped around to face it. The voice belonged to a girl with big violet eyes and a streak of fuchsia pink in her dark purple hair.

“Sorry!” The girl said, “I was just wondering if I can help… Seeing that you are new here,”

“Well, don’t sneak up on me like that,” Rainbow sneered, irritated.

“I said I was sorry! Anyway, my name is Twilight, come on, your math class is the same as mine,”

Rainbow sighed and followed Twilight into the crowd of students. Finally reaching their desired class, Twilight sat down and pointed at the desk next to her, Rainbow rolled her eyes and plopped herself into a desk on the opposite side of the room, earning a confused glance from Twilight.

Rainbow watched as their teacher entered the room.

“Hello all, I am Mr. Donkey, hopefully all aware of our new student,” He said in a monotone while gesturing towards Rainbow who waved, “Now, I am being EXTREMELY generous with your survey project lately, I will give you all this whole hour to work on them, they will be due two days from now,”

Rainbow frowned as others got up to get together with their groups to finish this ‘project’. Looking up, she saw Twilight approaching with two other girls, one with fluffy pink hair and and bright blue eyes, the other with glossy purple tresses and midnight blue eyes framed with thick lashes.

“What do you want now?” Rainbow growled at Twilight.

“Mr. Donkey said that you can join our group for the assignment, only if you want though...”

Rainbow instantly regretted what she had said before, “Oh.. Thanks... And uh… Sorry about before...”

“Its ok, let bygones be bygones, anyway, this is Pinkie and Rarity, two of my best friends,” She said while gesturing towards the girls beside her.

“Hiya! I'm Pinkie! Twilight told me that your new! And if you're new that means that you don't have any friends yet! And if you don't have any friends. that means you’re lonely! And if you're lonely, that means you are sad...!” Pinkie stopped rambling when Mr. Donkey gave her a look that told her to shut up.

Rarity rolled her eyes, “Welcome to Canterlot High Rainbow, Pinkie here is just too excited sometimes,”

“Come and meet the others,” Twilight beckoned, walking over to a larger desk with paper and books scattered on the surface. Twilight sat down next to a small girl with soft pink hair and turquoise eyes, “Fluttershy, this is Rainbow, she will be joining us in the project,”

“Hi Fluttershy!” Rainbow greeted, expecting a reply, none came. Fluttershy squeaked and attempted to hide in her hair… Which didn’t work out well.

“I’m sorry, darling, Fluttershy is a little… Shy, around strangers,” Rarity said, instantly pulling out a gem-encrusted brush and combed Fluttershy’s hair back into place.

“I understand, I have a pet turtle whose more or less the same” Rainbow replied, not noticing that Fluttershy’s eyes had lit up, and turned to the last stranger.

“Hah’ there, I’m Applejack,” A blonde girl with emerald eyes introduced. Rainbow nodded.

“Well, now that introductions are out of the way… Time to get this report finished!” Twilight mused enthusiastically.

Rainbow smiled. She felt at home with these girls, she felt happy. Happy that she had found her place, happy to have… Friends.

“Math is boring. Really really boring… Why can’t the clock move faster? Tick tock tick tock. I wonder what Rainbow is doing… Did she find her class? Eh… It’s not me to care… Oh! There goes the bell! FINALLY… Lunch!”

Blitz didn’t even pay attention to the teacher as she assigned their homework. Skidding out the door the second she finished rambling and ran for the cafeteria before people started crowding the hallways.

Entering the cafeteria, Blitz saw Rainbow with four other girls sitting around one of the tables. He walked up to them, sat down next to her and picked up an apple from her tray.

“Hey Blitz,”

“Hey Dash,”

“Stop that,”

“How about… No,”

“Put the apple back,”

“... Nope,”

“Idiot,”

“Thanks,”

“It wasn’t a compliment, genius!” Said Rainbow, punching Blitz in the arm, then noticing her friend’s reactions to seeing Blitz. Twilight blushed and pushed a strand of loose hair back into place, Fluttershy squeaked and tried to hide behind Applejack who's jaw was hanging open and Pinkie was… Rainbow didn’t even know what Pinkie was doing… Squirting strawberry sauce into milk? What.

Blitz, still oblivious of the girls behavior, took a bite of Rainbow’s apple as Rarity sat down. Suddenly noticing Blitz, Rarity narrowed her luscious eyes into a glare.

“Hey Rarity,” Blitz greeted nonchalantly.

“Why are you here?” She growled. Blitz shrugged and gestured towards Rainbow.

Her eyes then flickered towards Rainbow, who was still mindlessly punching Blitz’s arm and stared confusingly at the fashionista.

“Ehh... Care to tell me whats going on?” questioned Rainbow.

“Mmmm… Not really, anyway, Principal Celestia wants to borrow you for a second…” Blitz said, swallowing a last bite of apple and got up to leave, “Coming?”

Rainbow hesitated and stood up, “See you girls later, I guess,” The group chorused goodbye.

“So… Where exactly is Principal Celestia’s office?” Rainbow asked.

“I’ll take you there now,”

“Ok…”

Soon, they arrived at a door, Blitz knocked on it, “Come in,” Said a voice inside, “Oh, hello Blitz, and Rainbow,”

Rainbow waved politely while Blitz knelt down to retie his shoelace.

“So… Rainbow, how is Canterlot High so far?” Principal Celestia asked.

“It’s great, thanks Principal Celestia,”

“Just call me Celestia,”

Rainbow nodded. While they continued talking, Blitz was getting bored, “Well! Look at the time! Lets get going!” He laughed, dragging Rainbow out by her ponytail, Blitz shouted a “Bye!” and closed the door.

“Stop! Noo! Oww! STOP IT, OR I SWEAR, I WILL HURT YOU!” Rainbow threatened.

“Mmmm… Ok, fine,” Blitz said playfully, then reaching for her hair tie, pulled it out. Rainbow stumbled backwards as her colourful hair fell around her shoulders, looking up she glared at a smirking Blitz and pushed some strands of hair out of her face, “GIVE. NOW.”

Blitz poked out his tongue and handed the hair tie back “You’re no fun,”

Rainbow gave a “Pfft” and pulled her hair back into it’s usual ponytail. “When does interval end anyway?”

“Ehh… probably in a couple of minutes,”

“So… What do you do for sport?”

“Well, we have a Mini Olympics every 2 years, And we have one this year, we’re just been training for it the past few weeks, not that I need any practise, I’m just too good,”

Rainbow grinned, “I can beat you anywhere, anytime!”

“We’ll see about that, Dashie,”

“...”

“It’s better than 'Rainbow'!”

“... Just stick to Dash,”

“But where’s the fun in that?” Blitz teased.

Rainbow pouted, “I know where the field is so I’m gonna go now,”

“Come on then, TO THE FIELD!”

-- After School --

“So what you are saying is that you still live in Cloudsdale yet you school here at Canterlot?”

“Yeah, we’re gonna be moving here in a couple months, I’m staying at a hotel while they work out the last details, since the train takes three hours to get to Canterlot,”

“My goodness, Cloudsdale is a ways from Canterlot…” Rarity sighed. “You can always stay with me if you would like,”

“Really? That would be awesome! Hotels don’t encourage pets so I didn’t know what to do with Tank…” Rainbow mused, tapping her chin.

“… Tank?”

“Yea, Tank is my pet turtle,” Rainbow replied taking off her backpack and pulled out a tiny green dome, “Here he is...”

Rarity smiled when a small head poked out of the shell, “Well, you will always be welcome at my place, darling,”

“Thanks Rarity,” Rainbow mumbled as she poked Tank affectionately and put him back into her bag, pulling out her phone, “I’ll just call my parents see if its cool with them,”

“Of course,”

“I’m going to the soccer team tryouts now, wanna come with?” Rainbow asked, finishing her call.

“Come on then,” Rarity remarked, adjusting her heel strap.

Rainbow slid her phone back into the pocket of her shorts and picked up her pace, heading towards the school gym with Rarity following behind.

“Hey Dash! Glad you could make it!” Blitz welcomed with a smile as the two entered the gym, “You too, Rarity,”

Rarity scoffed and crossed her arms. Rainbow, although confused by the tension between her two friends, smiled and gave a friendly wave.

“M’kay people!” Blitz turned to address the few other athletes who had shown up at the tryouts, “You will start at one end of the of soccer field and make a goal at the other end! Remember we are looking for your strategy and technique,”

“You do not need to make a goal as I will be goalkeeper, also, if the ball is to be kicked out of bounds, it is an automatic rejection!” The group turned to see a fiery eyed girl with a short stylish haircut, she held herself with unwavering confidence.
“She’s Spitfire,” Rarity whispered to Rainbow, “She makes a good leader but can be over-confident,”

“Well, now that is clear, c’mon! Lets get this started!” Blitz finished, pushing open the gym doors, only to be greeted with a sky of gray, “Well, we will be doing the tryouts in drizzle, I guess,”

“RAIN!?” Rarity screamed dramatically, “Of all the things that could happen, this is the WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!” Suddenly noticing that everyone, including Rainbow, was staring awkwardly at her, Rarity gave a dainty cough and pulled a tiny white umbrella out of her backpack. “I’m good now,”

Blitz, along with all the other athletes shrugged it off and stepped out onto the wet grass. Spitfire ran up to the goal in form of the goalkeeper and waited patiently for the first athlete to take their place at the other end of the court.

Blitz looked on as each of the participants took their turn in scoring a goal, paying attention to their techniques and strategies. The first three athletes are fast and talented, yes, but none of their shots made it past Spitfire.

The second to last, a girl with short golden-yellow hair and eyes of similar colour, caught Blitz’s attention, her shot only just made it into the goal, slipping past the goalkeeper’s fingers.

Her name’s Lightning… Hmmm

Blitz looked over to where ‘Dash’ was standing and saw her looking over to Rarity, who winked in encouragement, and also somehow found the time to change into rain boots without getting wet. He could tell that Rainbow works best in a team, but he was interested to see how she did on her own.

Jogging up to the beginning point, Rainbow took a deep breath and dropped her watchful magenta gaze to examine the ball. Silence shrouded the damp field, then without warning, She drew back her foot back in a powerful kick, the ball flew through the air, all the way across to the other side of the court. Spitfire, obviously startled by the unexpected field goal, was hit in the stomach by the ball, the impact caused her to stumble backwards and crash onto the ground.

“Ohmigosh ohmigosh ohmigosh ohmigosh! Are you ok?” Rainbow hurriedly asked, rushing to Spitfire’s side.

“Hehe, that was… Nothing,” Spitfire winced, “You are a pretty powerful kicker…”

Rainbow looked up as Blitz approached as he finished up dismissing the others, promising results soon. Rarity was also daintily making her way across the muddy field. “How are you doing Spitfire?” He asked

“Okay… I guess. It hurts. Jeez.”

“Oh my! Rainbow! That was simply brilliant!” Rarity marvelled, adjusting her umbrella, “But we should be heading inside now… The weather seems to be getting worse,” As if her observation was a command, the skies opened up and the refreshing drizzle turned into a sheet of pouring rain.

“Spitfire, can you stand up?”

“Oh yes, I just got hit in the most vulnerable part of the body by a speeding soccer ball going at 150km/h, of course I can still stand up,” She deadpanned, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Blitz and Rainbow stared blankly at her, Spitfire facepalmed. “It’s COLD in the RAIN, get me to the GYM already!”

“Oh, yep, sorry.” Rainbow appologised, picking up Spitfire and draping her on Blitz’s back, who stood up and jogged towards the gym. Dash felt the raindrops on her head stop and looked up to see a white umbrella over her, looking over to the umbrella’s owner, she saw Rarity smiling. She smiled back, the two friends walked side-by-side towards shelter.

“And I kicked the ball and it went ALL THE WAY to the other side of the field! DID YOU SEE IT!? Can you say EPIC?!?!”

Blitz rolled his eyes, despite Rainbow being drenched in rain water, she sure can brag, “You don’t need to show off Rainbow, I can make a field goal, simple,”

“But it was AWESOME!”

“... It didn’t even make it into the goal, I defended it,”

“But still,”

Blitz sighed and peered over the glass double doors to see the storm still raging strong. Spitfire had changed out of her blue and yellow soccer uniform and into a white singlet with golden swirls of fire imprinted on it, yellow shorts and a white leather jacket. (They are in a gym so of course there will be changing rooms)

Blitz had also changed out of his soccer uniform into a blue shirt and black jeans.

Rarity, being… Rarity, of course had spare clothes for herself in her back pack. Having finally fixed her hair after half an hour of fussing and whining (Or complaining?) she was now rummaging through her bag once again for suitable clothes for a shivering and cold Rainbow.

“Here you go!” She cheered, handing Rainbow a small pile of clothes, “Go put it on now!”

Rainbow sighed and trudged to the changing rooms.

She came back out donning a cyan strapless top, white skorts (Nope, not a spelling mistake, cross between skirt and shorts, ask Uncle Google,) and a glare that would burn through metal.

“This is supposed to keep me warm? Oh, and I’m not wearing this. Or that,” She pointed to the white pop-scrunch heels on her feet and the golden chain necklace that dangled from her finger.

“But of course you are!” Rarity claimed, taking the necklace and tying it loosely around Rainbow’s neck, “Perfect!”

“Rarity, I don’t think she can even stand in those shoes, let alone walk!” Spitfire scoffed. Rarity blinked in realisation and pulled out a pair of white and blue sneaker boots. “Better now?”

Rainbow rolled her eyes and pulled on the garment, “Better than nothing,”

Noticing Blitz fiddling with his phone, the three girls made their way to him, “Got a signal yet?” Spitfire asked,

“Nope… The storm is messing up my phone... “

“Oh! You wanted to call someone?” Rarity exclaimed,

“Yeees..?”

“No need! I got a driver to wait for me while the tryouts were commencing! It was drizzling so I simply cannot walk home!”The athletes gaped as Rarity giggled in amusement.

“YOU HAD A DRIVER THIS WHOLE TIME?!”

“...”

“...’

“Yes?”

Rainbow sighed. Blitz sighed. Spitfire facepalmed.

Rarity once again took out her umbrella as the athletes packed up their things they had strewn across the gym floor. “It should be outside, come,”

The four stepped out into the freezing cold and sprinted for the sleek black car parked outside the gym. Rainbow also realised that Rarity was possibly the only human being that could actually run in heels.

“I dibs front seat!” Spitfire claimed, climbing in. Rarity slipped into the back seat, glad to be out of the rain. Rainbow looked at Blitz, “You want the middle seat?”

“Oh no, Rainbow, you sit here! I shall not be seated next to him,” Rarity instructed, her hostility towards Blitz returning. Shrugging, Rainbow did as she was told and swung her self into the car, Blitz followed, taking his place next to her.

Spitfire’s house soon came into view, the car slowed and the door opened then slammed shut “Bye guys, thanks again for the ride Rarity!” Spitfire waved before sprinting for her front door.

Blitz struggled to get comfortable again, only for Rainbow’s sleeping head to roll off Rarity’s shoulder onto his.

Well… This is awkward…

Blitz poked Rainbow’s cheek to wake her. She shivered and opened her eyes, then jolted up and accidentally elbowed Rarity in the ribs.

“Sorry!”

“... Ouch”

“Is the storm over?”

“Not likely to stop until tomorrow, darling,”

“I need to talk to Twilight about something, can you take me?”

“Of course, let us drop off Blitz first, he doesn’t need to be here,”

Rainbow gave a confused stare then shrugged. “Okay,”

The car soon drove up to a beautiful white house that seemed to glow in the rain.

“Ohmigosh! That is AWESOME! You live here?!” Rainbow enthused.

“Hehe, my grandad designed it, he’s an architect,” Blitz boasted,

“Can I come over somet-”

“Yes yes, Rainbow, let Blitz take his leave now,” Rarity interrupted,

Blitz waved goodbye and opened the car door, letting the himself out the vehicle. Rarity narrowed her eyes when a tall girl emerged from the red car parked in front of them, Blitz greeted her and the two walked into his home.

“What was that about?” Rainbow asked when the door slammed shut.

“... Nothing… It’s nothing, sweetie”

“Okay then?”

“To Golden Oaks Library please, sir,” Rarity addressed the driver politely, who nodded and revved the engine.

Why does Rarity hate Blitz… Meh. I’m cold. And this necklace hurts. And why are we going to a library?

A deep voice interrupted her thoughts, “Golden Oaks Library, should I wait out here?”

“Yes please, thank you,” Rarity smiled, daintily removing her faithful umbrella from her bag, “Come on Rainbow, you said you wanted to talk to Twilight?”

Rainbow nodded and stepped out into the rain, the regret of borrowing Rarity’s clothes returning as the cold merciless rain stung her skin.

Toughen up, you’ve played in weather worst than this!

Rainbow looked up at the Library, it was designed to look like a huge oak tree, it was a pretty amazing sight, really.

“This is Twilight’s home!”Rarity introduced dramatically,

“She lives in a library.” Rainbow deadpanned,

“I was sure you would expect something like this,”

Rainbow sighed, “True,”

“Come then, I don’t want to be in this rain longer than I have to,” Rarity said, hopping up the stone steps and pushing open the glass doors. Rainbow entered, warmth instantly wrapped her in it’s clutches, she sighed happily.

“Over here Rainbow!” She looked over to Rarity who was making her way to the check-out where a woman with white and violet streaked hair was sitting.

“Hello Mrs. Sparkle!” Rarity greeted warmly,

The lady looked and a smile spread across her face, “Rarity! Here for Twilight? And who is this young woman here?”

“This is Rainbow, she is new here,”

“Hi Mrs. Sparkle,” Rainbow waved in greeting,

“Don’t be so formal, call me Velvet! Twilight is upstairs, I’ll get you something to munch on in a few, enjoy yourselves!” Velvet stood up and gestured the girls to follow, she opened a door with ‘Staff Only’ marked on it and waited for them to enter.

Rarity thanked her and pulled Rainbow into the room, closing the entrance. The room was small and dimly lit, it led to a smooth staircase of dark wood. “Twilight and her family live on top of the library, this leads to their home,”

Nodding in understanding, Rainbow hopped up the steps behind Rarity. The staircase led to a door which opened up into what looked like a living room “Oh Twilight! Are you here?”

“Rarity?!” A small male voice called out, a boy about ten, eleven years old, skidded into the room with a lovestruck look to his face. His hair was spiky and green, lime eyes glittered as they fixed themselves upon Rarity’s smiling face.

“Hi…” He said dreamily, not even bothering to ask who the vibrant-haired stranger was doing in his home.

“Spike! How are you, darling?”

“Great…”

“Ahem, I still exist,” Rainbow glared, slightly annoyed.

“Oh yes, how rude of me, this is Spike, Twilight’s adopted brother!”

“Spike? Is someone there?” A new voice joined the conversation.

“Yep! Rarity and her friend is here!” Spike answered back, not once taking his emerald gaze off Rarity.

Twilight appeared at the doorway, “Hey guys! What are you doing here?... And what are you wearing?!”

“Oh. This. I got wet in the storm. And Rarity happened,” Rainbow complained, tugging at the strapless top.

“Oh. It looks uncomfortable.”

“It is.”

“And cold,”

“You don’t say,”

“Nonsense! It suits you very well!” Rarity claimed, ruffling Rainbow’s hair,

Twilight rolled her eyes, “What are you doing here anyway?”

“Homework. Help please.” Rainbow said, pulling a folder of paper out of her backpack.

“Oh yes, I promised to help you, didn’t I? Lets go then,” Twilight turned to go back to her room, “Spike? Can you get us something to eat?”

“Umm… Ok…” Spike replied half-heartedly.

“I’ll come with,” Rarity reassured, dragging a glowering Spike into the kitchen.

Rainbow followed Twilight into the hallway. The walls was adorned with family photos and framed test results. The two soon reached Twilight’s bedroom, dark pink stripes ran across the dusky purple walls, a neatly made midnight blue bed was situated in the corner of the room.
She walked over to the desk, amazed by the amount of essays and papers laid on top of it, “This is all homework?”

“No, heh, not all, most are just… Checklists,”

“That’s a lot of check-”

“Checklists for checklists…. For checklists,” Twilight cut Rainbow off with a sheepish laugh.

“...”

“...”

“Stop being quiet,”

“What?”

“So whats up with Spike and Rarity?” Rainbow questioned, wringing out her hair so that a few drops of rain water dripped onto the plush lilac carpet.

“Pardon?”

“Does Spike like Rarity or something?”

“Well… Don’t tell anyone this… Ye-” Twilight was interrupted by a ringtone, she picked up her phone and answered it, “Hello?”

“FOREVEEEERR” A voice on the other side of the line drawled. Twilight winced. “Sorry Pinkie,” she apologized, then ended the call. “Umm… Spike doesn’t like Rarity! Not one bit! Hehehe…. Yea”

Rainbow raised an eyebrow. Twilight giggled nervously. “Umm… So let me finish these first… Then I can help you with that work,”

“Fine by me,” She shrugged, pulling out Tank.

“You brought a pet to school?”

“Yep,”

“Thats against the rules!”

“... So?”

The bookworm sighed, then sat down into her chair and picked up a pen. Dash watched her friend work while letting Tank clamber over her fingers. “I was meaning to ask, why is Rarity so weird to Blitz?,”

“B-Blitz?” Twilight blushed, dropping her pen. “You are his f-friend?”

“Yeaaa…?” Rainbow raised an eyebrow and sat up, eager to hear what Twilight has to say.

Te dark haired girl spun around in her chair and slid onto the ground, facing her friend with a bright blush painted on her face “Well… Hehe… You see...”

“So… Whats wrong with Blitz?” Rainbow questioned, sliding her fingers across Tank’s smooth shell.

“You don’t need to know,” Rainbow turned around and saw Rarity standing in the doorway, tray of biscuits and juice in hand. She carefully placed the tray of snacks onto Twilight’s desk before daintily seating herself on the dark blue bed. “Why don’t you let Spike show you Owlowiscious?”

“You own an owl? Cool! C’mon Spike!” Rainbow enthused, picking up Tank and running out the door, dragging a reluctant Spike behind her.

“I was about to tell her about Blitz! Rainbow is a good friend of his… Maybe she can help me!”

“Rainbow will find out in her own time, but what he did was unacceptable!”

“I… Even though he is a…”

“HE HAD ANOTHER ONE TODAY! When we were dropping him off...”

“An-another one?”

“You know what I mean Twilight, you out of all people is infatuated by him?”

“You used to like him,”

“Before he tried to… ARGGH” Rarity hissed in frustration, “I HATE BLITZ, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING YOU CAN CHANGE!”

“I-I’m sorry,” Twilight stammered, surprised by her friend’s sudden outrage.

“No, I’m sorry, that was simply impolite of me to yell,”

“Well, do we tell her?”

“Rainbow will figure it out herself soon enough, Twilight,” Rarity rubbed her arm, listening to the awkward silence that shrouded the room.

The two looked up when Rainbow rushed into the room, Owlowiscious perched on her head. “This is so cool! I have a owl on my HEAD!”

‘An. An owl. Not a.” Twilight corrected.

“Whatever! Wheres my phone?!”

Rarity smiled, forgetting her conversation with Twilight, she picked up Rainbow’s dropped phone and snapped her picture. “Here you go sweetheart,” She said, handing over the piece of technology.

“Yay! Thanks Rares!” Rainbow cheered, running her fingers across Owlowiscious’ feathers as he fluttered off her head and landed onto Twilight’s waiting hand.

“Twilight? Some of your friends are here!” Shouted a voice from downstairs.

“What? Alright, let them in, Mother,”

“Hihihihi everybody!” Pinkie cheered, bouncing into the room with Applejack and Fluttershy following behind, “Sleepover! Sleepover! Sleepover! It’s time for a sleepover!”

“Wh-what? But it’s a school night!” Twilight argued, letting Owlowiscious to perch onto Fluttershy’s shoulder.

“So?” Pinkie pressed, picking up a biscuit from the tray of snacks. “Mmmm… Your mom still makes good cookies… Mmmm,”

“Well… I guess there will be no harm… As long as we sleep before 9.”

Pinkie pouted, “Fine, as long as you don’t bring those books,”

“What? Sleepover? I’m confused.” Rainbow interrupted, tickling Tank’s stomach.

“Of course, Pinkie likes to throw parties for every new student… But she loves sleepovers,” Rarity claimed, twisting a lock of shiny hair.

“Yep! So… SLEEPOVER TIME!” Pinkie cried, jumping up in the air for a gravity-defying minute.

“What? How does she..?” Rainbow stuttered,

“That’s normal, by Pinkie standards, you’ll get used to it,” Applejack said, leaning into the door frame, adjusting her hat so that it sat comfortably on her blonde head.

“Well, lets meet at Rarity’s place in a hour,” Twilight sighed, flicking her pen into her pencil case.

“Agreed,”

“S-sure...”

“YAY!”
Rarity grabbed Rainbow’s wrist and started to pull her out the door, “Okay then, see you girls later! We must pick up Rainbow’s things from the hotel!”

The four girls waved goodbye as their friends left the room. Once out of the library, Rarity pushed Rainbow into the waiting car,

“Canterlot Central Hotel, yes?”

“Yea! How did you know?”

“Only good hotel around here, sweetheart,” Rarity smiled, “Now, sir, take us to Canterlot Hotel please!”

“Of course, ”

-At the Hotel-

“Room 12? That should be right here, darling,” Rarity said, gesturing to the wooden door. Rainbow swung her keys towards the ceiling, letting it fall into her opened hand. “Awesome,”

She unlocked the door and pushed it open to reveal a fairly messy room, paper and clothes were strewn across the floor.

“You have lived here for how long?” Rarity questioned, a look of disgust crossing her face as she glanced around the room.

“Two days, why?”

“It’s an absolute mess, darling! What a disgrace!”

Rainbow shrugged, then maneuvered her way to an open suitcase, taking out a small pile of clothes, “I’m gonna get changed out of this, you make yourself at home,”

“Oh no, darling! We are packing this up and leaving, we must meet the girls on time!”

“But-”

“No buts, sweetie, it’s rude, now come! Get your belongings together, we are leaving in a few,”

Rainbow sighed and tugged fruitlessly on the skorts in a final attempt to change Rarity’s stubborn mind.

In about ten minutes, the two girls had Rainbow’s things packed and were checked out of the hotel.

“Come Rainbow! Our kind driver will take me back to my home, hop in,” Rarity smiled, gesturing her athletic friend into the back seat while letting her trusty driver tuck the suitcase into the boot.

“The Carousel Boutique please!” Rarity cheered, happily flicking the tips of her hair.

“Of course, fair Rarity,” The driver nodded and started the engine.

Soon, the sleek car pulled up to a beautifully designed pink and purple store, it was striped with white and gold decorated the roof. “You live here? Wow!”

Rarity thanked the driver and turned to Rainbow who was pulling out her suitcase. “Of course sweetie! My mother works here, we live in on the top two floors,” Rarity explained, helping Rainbow with her backpack, “Now lets get in, dear mother will be waiting,”

The two entered through the gold framed glass door, a petite middle-aged woman with bright green eyes and long, swirling purple, almost black hair, greeted them, “Rarity! You’re back, sweetheart! And this is Rainbow I assume?”

“Yes Mother! The girls are coming over for a sleepover, is that ok with you?”

“Of course,” She smiled, “Rainbow, you can take the spare room, make yourself at home!”

“Thanks, Mrs… “

“Just call me Claire,”

“Thank you Claire!”

“Anything, sweetie, now hurry along and unpack!” Claire smiled, pushing her daughter and Rainbow up the stairs.

“Here we are, Rainbow, I’ll help you unpack,” Rarity said, opening the door to her friend’s new room, “Ta-da!”

“Wow! It’s so big, I love it Rarity… Thank you,” Rainbow said, hugging an uncomfortable Rarity.

“Yes, yes, now let’s get to it,”

Pinkie arrived first, she bounced into Rainbow’s room happily, somehow carrying her heavy-looking blue bag with ease. “Hey girls!” She cheered, plopping her bag in the middle of the floor and seating herself on Rainbow’s new bed.

“Pinkie, it is rude to turn up too early,” Rarity instructed, pulling her friend off the mattress and smoothing out the duet she had laid on it.

“Hey! If I turn up late, you also tell me off… No fair,” Pinkie scoffed, crossing her arms.

“Being late is worst, sweetie,” Rarity huffed, “You must be on time!”

“Rarity! Fluttershy is here!” Claire shouted up the stairs,

“Thank you mom! Send her up please!,” The fashionista answered, then turned to Pinkie who was attempting to braid the hair of an unwilling Rainbow. “See? Like Fluttershy, she always arrives on time,”

Pinkie frowned, then giggled, “Rarity! You are always so serious! Fluttershy is here now!”

“Fluttershy?” Rainbow asked, forgetting temporarily about the shy friend she knew the least about.

“H-hello? R-Rarity?”

“Oh! Fluttershy! Just on time!” Rarity smiled, turning away from Pinkie, “Come, put your belongings here, dear,” She said gesturing towards the foot of the bed where Rainbow’s suitcase was opened, empty.

“Th-thanks..” Fluttershy muttered, still not as comfortable with Rainbow as the other five of her friends. “He-hello, Rainbow…”

“Hey Fluttershy,” Rainbow greeted, giving a friendly smile and wave. “Rarity said you like animals! Wanna meet Tank?”

“T-Tank?” Fluttershy questioned, curiously tucking a strand of her pink hair behind her ear.

“Yes darling! Tank is Rainbow’s sweet little tortoise!” Rarity claimed, taking the smooth green dome from the half-land half-water glass aquarium they have set out for Tank.

“Oh!” Fluttershy gasped, taking Tank from Rarity’s hands and cuddled the tortoise, instantly taking a liking to the tiny reptile, “You little cutiepie… Are you hungry?”

“Ahh…” Rainbow stared, wide-eyed at the friendliness her pet was showing to a complete stranger.

“It’s okay Rain! Flutters’ great with animals! It’s normal for that to happen!” Pinkie laughed, taking out a fluffy pink pillow from her bag and hugging it tightly.

Soon, the door to Rainbow’s room creaked open again to present Twilight and Applejack,

“Hey y’all,”

“Hello girls”

Greetings were thrown back and forth before Pinkie finally got them all to sit down in the middle of the room.

“Okay guys! It’s happen to have made a Pinkie Promise to our Twilight here… To sleep at nine,” Pinkie said, then muttered under her breath, “Party-Pooper,”

“So lets get down to business, dears!” Rarity smiled, pulling out a full set of nail polish out of hammerspace. “First of all, azure blue is an absolutely perfect colour for you Rainbow! Butterscotch yellow for Fluttershy, dusky lavender for sweet Twilight, cottoncandy pink for Pinkie… And a nice orange for Applejack here!”

“Ahhh… No thanks sugarcube,” Applejack scoffed, “You know I don’t do makeovers,” Rainbow nodded in agreement.

Rarity’s expression saddened but lit up again when Twilight curiously picked up a small bottle of the coloured liquid.

“See? Twilight wants to! Come on! Please? “ Rarity begged, going big puppy-eyed. “Come on girls… For me?”

The girls sighed. “Fine,” They chorused, Giving in to Rarity’s whiny voice.

“Hooray!” Rarity cheered, rushing out the room and coming back seconds later with an armful of makeup supplies.

“Oh right! I almost forgot,” Rarity said with a blank look on her face, dropping the makeup onto the plush white carpet. “You girls remember the friendship necklaces I made for you..?”

“Of course Rarity!” Twilight smiled, pulling out a sparkling lavender gem in the shape of a six-sided star tied onto a silver chain.

“Here it is, sugar,” Applejack smiled, holding out a shiny red stone shaped into an apple and tied to a rope-like chain.

“H-here..” Fluttershy whispered, running her fingers along a smooth, shimmering pink butterfly-shaped jewel that was tied to her neck via a swirly pale green vine-like chain.

“Oh! Oh! Oh! I have mine! Me! Me!” Pinkie cheered, showing everyone her shining blue gem shaped into a balloon, tied to a layered pink chain. “Do you have yours, Rares?”

“Absolutely sweetie,” Rarity reassured, picking up a silver choker studded with small jewels, a larger gem was embedded in the middle, a beautiful shimmering blue diamond.

The five put on their own necklaces and looked over to Rainbow, she tilted her head confused. “Umm... “

“We need to get you one!” Pinkie yelled, jumping onto Rainbow.

“Right, Rainbow ‘ere needs one too,” Applejack agreed.

“Of course, I already have it figured out!” Rarity smiled, pulling a glittery golden chain that twisted with a unique pattern, encrusted in the middle was a gleaming white gem shaped into a cloud. “Put it on sweetheart,”

Rainbow eyed the accessory wearily, like Applejack, she wasn’t one for jewelry.

But Applejack seemed fine with it…

“I-it… Symbolises our fr-friendship,” Fluttershy smiled, bringing up her necklace, “Rarity made them by hand,”

Rainbow grinned, taking the necklace from Rarity’s hands, then put it on. It didn’t feel uncomfortable, in fact, it was nice and cold against her skin. “Thank you…”

The six smiled at each other, fingering and fiddling with their necklaces.

“Lets get to it then ladies! Into your nightwear! Lets play some games!” Pinkie cheered, grabbing her bag and rushing out the door for the bathroom, reappearing a second later to ask where it actually was.

Rarity facepalmed and pointed to the adjoined bathroom in the room. Pinkie gave a tiny giggle and bounced towards the door.

“She will never change,” Sighed Twilight, pulling out her own pajamas.

“So I can FINALLY get out of this!” Rainbow celebrated, jumping into the bathroom the second Pinkie came out.

She came out a couple minutes later with a oversized sweater shirt that came halfway down her thighs. Rainbow was surprisingly still wearing her necklace, she obviously had no intention to take it off. She walked up to Rarity who was chatting away with Fluttershy. “Here you go Rarity,” Rainbow said, handing over the folded pile of clothes she had borrowed from her midnight-haired friend.

“No, no, Rainbow, you keep that! It looks better on you anyway,” Rarity said, giving a dismissal flick of her hand.

Rainbow had actually grown fond of the sleek sneaker boots, and was actually quite comfortable in the skorts. But not the top, noooo, that piece of clothing sucks!

“Come on guys! Time… For… TRUTH OR DARE!” Pinkie drawled, dramatically throwing her arms up in the air.

The girls sat in a circle on the floor, “Who wants to go first?” Twilight asked,

“Oh! Oh! Oh! Me! Me! Choose me!” Pinkie cheered, “Alright. Rainbow. Truth. Or. Dare.”

“Gimme a dare, Pinkie,”

“Ahh… I dare you... “ Pinkie mused, tapping her chin thoughtfully, “I dare you to mustard with orange juice… AND DRINK IT!”

Rarity gave a shake of her head, showing her disapproval. Twilight and Fluttershy shared a look of disgust while Applejack nonchalantly directed her gaze to Rainbow, who was smirking confidently.

“Lets get to the kitchen then,” Rarity sighed, standing up.

The friends followed the fashionista out the door and into the kitchen, which was lit by fluorescent lights.

“Hi big sis!” A small squeaky voice greeted, Rarity turned to see a pink haired little girl with stunning green eyes, “Oh, hello Belle,”

“What are you doing? Are you hungry?” Rarity asked, approaching her little sister,

“No… Just heard some noise, but it was just you,” She smiled, waved to her sister’s friends and left.

“Is that enough cream, Pinkie?” Twilight smiled sarcastically, observing Pinkie take a bottle of whipped cream and squirting it into her mouth.

Pinkie guiltily put the bottle back, licking her lip. “Where’s the mustard?” She asked in a high angelic voice, blinking her eyes rapidly in an attempt to look innocent.

Rarity gave a fluttery laugh and opened the cabinet above the sink, and took out a half empty bottle of honey mustard, then walked to the fridge and took out an unopened bottle of orange juice. “Here you are, Rainbow,”

Rainbow looked at the glass cup and the bottles of liquid. She wasn’t the least bit fazed about mixing weird things together and drinking it, she being the curious child she used to be, did it all the time. She poured a generous amount of juice into the cup, then took the mustard and squirted it into the orange juice. Taking a deep breath and looking at Pinkie’s excited face, Rainbow threw back her head and gulped the thick liquid.

Choking down the last of the tainted juice, Rainbow slammed the cup onto the counter, “Done!”

Rarity raised an eyebrow and slow clapped, “That is certainly something to be proud of,” She said, sarcasm dripped from her tone.

Twilight cringed at the sight of Pinkie downing the rest of the bottle of mustard, “Lets go back to Rainbow's bedroom then, and continue this game!” She sighed

The girls chorused agreement and headed back up the dark staircase, they sat back down on the floor.

“Okay… Rarity, truth or dare?!” Rainbow quizzed, smiling.

“Truth, sweetheart,” She replied, flipping the ends of her perfect hair.

“Alright… Why, do you hate Blitz?” She asked playfully, lying down onto her stomach.

“Ahhh…” Rarity said, opened mouthed, “I-I…” She looked to Twilight for support.

“You got to be ‘honest, sugarcube” Applejack sympathised.

Rarity took a deep breath and growled “Fine.”

“Simply put, Blitz is the most popular boy in school, very few girls don't like him. I used to… I used to like him too, and I had a chance to be with him. But it was then when I found out that he had… Partners, almost every week. At this time, I was naive and didn’t care. That is, until he took me to his room, I didn’t want to do… That. I’m only fifteen! After that, I left him. Yet he pretends that nothing happened,” Rarity scoffed, glaring at Rainbow, “Happy now?”

Rainbow stared wide eyed, then looked at the rest of her friends, they obviously heard this story before. “I-I’m sorry Rarity… I didn’t know,”

“It’s alright sweetie, I had to tell you sooner or later, “ Rarity said, her glare softened. She looked out the window and saw a dark sky, “It’s late girls, we should sleep, it’s Thursday tomorrow,”

Pinkie yawned noisily, “Yeah, I’m tired too!” She quickly unrolled her sleeping bag and slipped inside,”Nighty night girls!”

The six exchanged awkward good nights, then Applejack, the one closest to the light switch, turned off the lights.

“Good night everyone…” Rainbow whispered.

Weak sunlight filtered through the flimsy blue curtains. Rainbow squeezed her eyes shut, covering her vibrant head with her blanket, only to realize there was no blanket. She grudgingly opened her eyes and sat up, she had somehow rolled out of her sleeping bag and was lying on soft carpet. Rainbow looked around, her friends were still sleeping.

She yawned, stretching her muscles as she did every morning.

No point going back to sleep now… But my sleeping bag was so warm… Ten more minutes won’t hurt…

“Rainbow! Rainbow get up! It’s 8 o'clock, we’re leaving in fifteen!” Twilight hissed, shaking her friend’s tiny shoulders.

“W-what? I’m sleepy… More sleep… Pleeease,” Rainbow countered, swatting her friend’s hand away.

“RAINBOW! Rise and shine! We’re late! Well… Almost late, the school starts in half an hour, and you still need to get ready,” Pinkie giggled, “You’re giving Twily here nightmares about her first tardy! Hehe!”

Rainbow leapt up, even though she doesn't care for school, Rainbow wanted to make a lasting good impression towards her teachers.

“Alright, alright,” She grabbed a shirt from her still-yet-to-finish-packing suitcase and rushed into the bathroom to change. She came out seconds later wearing a white top with a cropped blue jacket and denim capri pants that came just below her knees and struggling to get her hair tied up and into place. “Kay, I’m good, leggo,”

“That was incredibly quick,” Rarity mused, pulling her hair in a loose ponytail which she wore so that it was in front of her shoulder. “I’m done also, lets go sweethearts,”

The six friends grabbed their backpacks and rushed out the door, eager to get to Canterlot High on time. They all hopped into the black car awaiting them outside the Carousel Boutique, as soon as they all got in, the car sped off onto the highway.

Very soon, the girls pulled up outside the school. They hastily thanked the driver and rushed through the school gates, welcomed by the usual crowd of morning chaos.

“At least we ain't late,” Applejack sighed with relief, adjusting the straps of her bag.

“I have science with Mr. Discord first,” Twilight said, looking down at her watch to see that they had a couple of minutes to spare. “What do you guys have?”

“Oooh, Science with Mr. Discord also,” Rainbow mused, folding her timetable back up.

“Me and Fluttershy have English,” Applejack answered.

“History! Me and Rares have History! History, history, history!” Pinkie sang, bouncing happily around an unamused Rarity.

“Well, bye girls! See you at interval,” Twilight bid good-bye to the rest of her friends, following Rainbow into the school.

“So. Is Mr. Discord a good teacher?” Rainbow asked, looking at Twilight as they walked,

“Well, he can be a bit unpredictable and he teaches in a weird way, but overall, he’s a great tea-”

“Hey Dash!”

“Hey Blitz!” Rainbow replied coolly, turning around to salute him. “Whats up?”

“Nothing much,” He laughed, pushing Rainbow to get her to continue walking, “You have science too?”

“Yep!” Rainbow smiled, giving Twilight a playful push, “I’m sure you know Twilight already?”

“Noo… But hey, you meet new people everyday!” Blitz grinned, giving Twilight a two-finger wave, causing her to break into hysterical giggles.

Blitz just turned back to Rainbow, “I just shook off some random people following me around, mind if I stick with you ‘till class?”

“Actually, yes, I do mind,” Rainbow joked, poking her tongue at him.

“Good to know that you’ve got my back,” Blitz said, lightly punching her in the arm.

“Oww. You know that you can, don’t even ask,”

“Ahem, Rainbow? The bells are ringing,” Twilight whispered, flirtatiously peering at Blitz through her curtain of dark hair.

“Alright then,” Blitz said, completely missing Twilight’s stare. “Let go!”

The two athletes raced off into the halls, one of them pulling a reluctant Twilight behind them.

“Here we are,” Rainbow smiled, then looked confusedly at the panting Twilight. “What? We didn’t even go fast,”

“Ahh… I’m… Not as… As fit… As you,” Twilight panted, clearly out of breath.

The three entered the room.

“Well hello Blitz, Twilight, and who are you?”

Rainbow looked to see a tall white-bearded man standing in front of them. “Oh! I’m Rainbow! Hi Mr. Discord, nice to meet you,”

“The pleasure is mine, Rainbow,” Mr. Discord welcomed, “Now go sit down you three, class is starting,”

“Sit here, Rainbow!” Twilight called, tapping the desk next to her, this time, unlike when they first meet, Rainbow smiled and walked over to the desk, waving for Blitz to sit in the empty seat behind her.

“Ok class… Today we will start our focus on Biology…”

This is boring… Blitz thought, twirling his pen between his fingers. He was still annoyed from last night, he was hardly satisfied. Ah well, seems like it was her first.

He sighed, then erased the thoughts from his head. Suddenly, he saw the rainbow hair in front of him flipped back so that it fell down the back of the chair, his eyes meet an upside-down face adorned with those bright magenta eyes.

“Hey! Mr. Discord said something about group work,” Rainbow said, her head still hung over the back of her seat. “How ’bout it?”

“Sure,” He smiled, much to the disappointment of the swarming people around them, “What are we doing?”

“Mmmm… Something about animal and plant cells,” She said, finally sitting up from her position and turning so that her legs curled around the back rest. “Twilight's gonna be in our group,”

“Mmmkay,” Blitz said, flicking his pen at her, hitting her in her forehead, and chuckled.

She frowned, rubbing the spot his offensive stationary had hit, then smiled mischievously and picked up her own pen. Aim… Fire!

The perfectly aimed pen flew past Blitz’s cheek, leaving behind a trail of blue ink.
“Hey!” Blitz complained, smudging the drying colours onto his finger, “No fair! I didn’t draw on you!”

“What can I say? Revenge is best served cold,” Rainbow said, pulling her mouth up into a taunting smile.

“Guys? I-I mean… Not to interrupt but, we should probably start… On the assignment?” Twilight whispered, smoothing out her light fuchsia blouse.

“Okaaaay,” Rainbow groaned, pulling up her empty exercise booklet. “What do we need to do?”

“It’s simple, really, just need to write a report on the difference and similarities between fauna and flora cells,” Twilight recited, looking at her perfectly neat notes, “That should be all,”

“Fauna…?” Rainbow asked slowly, testing the word on her tongue. “Whats that?”

“Fauna means animals, Rainbow,” Twilight sighed, twisting a strand of dusky hair on her finger.

“Riiiight… I knew that,”

“Sure you did, Rainbow,” Blitz teased, still rubbing at his inked cheek.

Twilight had her face set into a slight frown, looking at the colourful teens. “We should start,” She said curtly, picking up her pen and turning to face the front, clearly focusing on whatever she was neatly scribbling onto her book.

“What’s with her?” Blitz asked quizzically, raising a perfect bolt-shaped brow.

“Meh, probably didn’t get enough sleep last night,” Rainbow said, “Right, Twi?”

At that moment, the thundering sound of second period bell rang across the classroom, getting a dejected glare from Rainbow, who hasn’t realised how fast the hour had flown past.

“Come over to the Golden Oaks Library this afternoon, we’ll work out this assignment then,” Twilight said, then turned to leave the room.

“What’s with her?”

“Ahhh… I don’t know?” Rainbow worried, looking at the now empty doorway.

“Rainbow! Hey hey! Hey Rainbow! Over here!” A bubbly voice sang. Rainbow turned around and saw the expected bouncing tuft of unruly cotton candy hair.

“Pinkie! Hi!” She greeted, “You have English too?”

“Yep! Yep! Yep!”

“I didn’t remember seeing you in this class yesterday… And I doesn’t Twilight have English with us?” Rainbow mused, tapping her chin and tilting her head.

Blitz shook his head, ignoring several glances thrown his way, “Pinkie was helping with some dance decorations, I think,”

“Dance?”

“Yea, Rainbow! The Spring Fling? You don’t know? Rarity is competing for the crown! So is Tiara and Sapphire...” Pinkie drawled, counting down the participants on her fingers.

“Kay, what about Twilight then?”

“She went to a special presentation by a visiting professor from Canterlot University,”

“Nice going, geek,” Blitz laughed, earning himself a punch to the arm and a pointed glare from Rainbow,

“Hey, what?! It was a compliment! Geeks are smart!”

Rainbow sighed, “True, true,”

“You ladies want to sit down?” An unfamiliar voice chuckled behind them,

“Not cool Thunder, you know you’re the only lady here,” Blitz grinned, throwing an arm around his friend’s shoulder. “I told you about Dash right?”

Rainbow smiled brightly at the icy haired boy, “I’m Rainbow, Blitz here just calls me Dash, reason? I don’t know,”

“Dash is an awesome name! I’m Thunderlane!” He held out a fist, which Rainbow bumped with her own, “Nice to meet you,”

“Dash?” Pinkie asked, finally snapping out of her trance of naming every one of the many girls running for the crown, “Whose Dash?”

Blitz widened his already blinding grin and slung his other arm around Rainbow's petite shoulders, “Right here, Pinkie,”

“When did Rainbow become Dash?! I knew I should have checked the student statuses today!” Pinkie cried, slipping out her phone and furiously tapping the screen.

“Relax Pinks,” Rainbow laughed, disregarding Blitz’s arm, “It’s just a nickname,”

Pinkie stopped, staring dumbly at her friend, then pulled her lips up to form that ever present smile,”Dash, Dash, Dash, Dash! Thats a nice nickname! I'm calling you Dash from now on! Dashie! Hi-hi!” The bubbly girl then stopped, noticing the honey eyed boy, “Oh hi Thunderlane!”

Said boy chuckled at Pinkie’s happy greeting, “Hey Pinkie,”

“You know her?” Rainbow asked, poking Blitz’s arm to avoid it developing into a choke hold.

“Of course, everyone knows Pinkie, kinda hard not to,” Thunderlane answered, then stepped out from under Blitz’s hold, “Well, see you around, bye,”

The three waved goodbye to the boy who walked out the classroom, heading towards his next class.

“Well, Ms. Cherilee isn’t here ye-”

“Hello class, sorry to keep you waiting, I had some things to take care of, now, why don’t we start?” Came a well timed voice, cutting off Rainbow’s previous comment, “Sit down class, now is not the time to gossip,”

Blitz slipped into the nearest empty chair, it was situated to the right of a boy he didn’t know, to the left of a girl attempting to bat her eyelashes at him (Who he so very nicely ignored) and once again, behind a certain rainbow haired girl.

Is it possible to not be bored during class? He thought, fiddling with his pen, getting red ink onto his hands, Gaaahhh, Dammit

Little parts of Ms. Cheerilee's lesson filtered through, “Shakespeare… Poem…. Play… Acting… Presentation..” Blitz’s vibrant head dropped in his arms on his desk as his eyelids closed, So… Sleepy…

“Blitz! Hey! Hey, hey, hey, hey! Blitz! Get up!” Someone was roughly shaking his body, Blitz growled and opened his eyes to be meet with annoyed rosy hued ones. “Finally! Class is over!”

Blitz rubbed the sleep from his eyes, his blurred vision focusing. Ms. Cheerilee was sitting at her desk, a look of disapproval present on her face. Rainbow was shaking her head in annoyance, one hand gripping Blitz’s black backpack, the other securing her own sky blue bag onto her back. Aside from them, the room was empty… That is, until Blitz noticed the small crowd at the door, probably waiting for him, it was interval after all. He groaned inwardly.

“Okay… I’m up…” Blitz yawned, giving a stretch and cracking his knuckles. “I’m hungry, c’mon lets go,”

He threw on his bag and grabbed Rainbow’s wrist, “To the cafeteria!” He announced, then sped out the door, pushing people out of the way, it was not until the two athletes were alone in the empty halls did he drop Rainbow’s hand. She gave him a glare and rubbed her wrist. “That was rude,”

“Sorry, Dash,” Blitz apologised, grinning, "Just hungry, aren't you?"

Rainbow sighed, her stomach growled "Enough said, let's go." She said grudgingly, racing off down the hall with Blitz following close behind.

The two burst into the loud cafeteria and looked at the food bar with hungry expressions. Rainbow reached into her jeans pocket and held in her hand her red wallet. Blitz zipped open his bag and pulled out a crinkled $20 note.

They then walked towards the food, eager to order and sit down. Rainbow picked up a chicken sandwich , a small bowl of cherries and a serving of fruit salad. She paid and stood next to the food bar, waiting for Blitz to get his order.

"Where should we sit?" He asked, already chewing on his slice of cake.

Rainbow pointed at the table she had sat at yesterday. Rarity, Applejack and Fluttershy was there.

"Alright then," Blitz answered, ignoring and not caring about any wishful glances thrown his way. He quickly sat down next to Applejack and grabbed his sandwich, ready to tuck in.

"Hah' Rainbow, Blitz," Applejack greeted.

Blitz nodded in response while Rainbow waved. "Where's Twi and Pinkie?"

"Twilight's still at the presentation, Pinkie went to help with some baking for Granny Smith," Rarity replied, glaring at an oblivious Blitz, causing Rainbow to remember last nights conversation and making things a little awkward.

"So... Uhh," Rainbow stuttered, her fork poking at her salad, "I heard that you were... Running for Spring Fling Queen?"

Rarity's luscious eyes lit up and smiled, "I am! I already have a dress ready that matches the crown perfectly! That reminds me! I already made the rest of the girl's dresses... So I simply must make yours too!"

"Ye-yea... Rarity is really talented..." Fluttershy whispered, an edge of pride in her voice.

"Even ah' ain't complaining 'bout them, they are quite comfy," Applejack said, taking a bite of golden delicious apple.

Rainbow smiled nervously, touching the cold necklace that lay underneath her shirt and jacket, in the hussle that morning, Rainbow had forgotten to take it off and put it somewhere safe.

"Well, I'm full," Blitz said, a smile of satisfaction etched onto his features.

"Goodbye then," Rarity replied coldly, pushing away the friendly tone she used with her friends.

"Mmmm... Kay then," Blitz said cheerfully, "Dash here needs to come to the soccer team meeting anyway,"

"What?" Rainbow choked "I'm on the team?!"

"Of course, I know good potential when I see it,"

"Yes! But then again, I am pretty good," She bragged, her bright eyes glittering.

"Bah' you two, see ya' later," Applejack bade, see you laters were exchanged around the table before the athletes left.

"What is the meeting for anyway? I thought you just had to show up at practise," Rainbow asked, walking next to Blitz, trying to keep up with the longer strides he was taking,

"We only hold them occasionally, only important things we need to discuss are held as meetings,"

Rainbow's mouth formed an 'o' in understanding,

"Here we are," Blitz grinned, approaching a closed door and placing a pale hand on the doorknob, pushing the door open.

Four pairs of eyes landed Rainbow.
