Rainbow and Derpy in the tomb of the Golden Wing (and plenty of muffins)

Rainbow Dash and Derpy are flying around when they find a mysterious cave...(MINOR BLOOD)

Rainbow Dash was flying around... when she saw Derpy trying to do some... err... stunts.... so Rainbow Dash tries to teach her how to do some tricks in the sky. While having a race to test Derpy's speed... Rainbow collides inside the mouth of a cave... that isn't a cave at all...

The Discovery

Note: Just because Derpy is cross eyed doesnt she has a problem with talking! Also, this is my first ever story. Tell me what you think in the comments.

Rainbow was flying above the town, looking down at the ponies and unicorns admiring her. She was originally going over to Fluttershy's to help her round up her bunnies... but Fluttershy said if she couldn't make it, she would understand.

While heading over, she encountered that grey coated and Yellow haired Pegasus, trying to do some sort of trick. Rainbow sighed, remembering the time she almost destroyed the Town Hall, and continued heading to Fluttershy's.

"Hey, Rainbow Dash!" The pegasus said.

"Oh.. hey Derpy..." Rainbow turned, a slight tone of annoyance that Derpy couldn't catch.

"I was wondering if you could do this trick..."

Rainbow rolled her eyes. "Of course I can do your flip, turn, corkscrew, or anything else."

"Oh boy! You can? Because I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to see you do a corkscrew, 3 loops, and a Cloud Swirl for me!"

Rainbow thought, Too easy, I could do that with my eyes closed but she did say this out loud, for she did not want to upset her friend. "Sure I can. Maybe after this, you want to do a race?"

"Oh... um... I don't know... I would never go faster then you."

"Don't worry, Ill go easy on you."

In the back of her mind, she wanted to fly as fast as she could, just to hear the wind roaring in her ears, going over her wings...

Rainbow started flying. She needed to do something, anyway. She was bored out of her mind until Fluttershy asked her to help her, But Fluttershy said she always had Applejack, which was actually a better herder then Rainbow Dash, but she would never say outload.

She easily did the corkscrew, the 3 loops, and the cloud swirl. For something a little extra, she did a nose dive and almost hit the ground. She turned around and went back to Derpy, who was smiling with her eyes in Derp form. Rainbow always loved that look. Derpy's golden yellow eyes in those angle's were just hilarious to Rainbow. When Rainbow approached Derpy, her eyes went back to normal, and Rainbow was a little disappointed.

"Wow Rainbow Dash! I don't think I would ever be able to do that last part without breaking a wing."

Rainbow smiled. "Thanks, Now, Lets get on to that race! It will be from here, around that mountain, and back. Okay? A nice fair game."

Derpy replied saying, "Oh okay, I will do your race."

They both lined up equally. Rainbow thought, I have this in the bag.

They both counted down

"3"

"2"

"1"

"GO"

Rainbow started off with a medium pace. She was very surprised when Derpy passed her up.

Derpy looked back at Rainbow, giggling at the look on her face. She was trying her best to stay ahead of Rainbow, but she passed her up almost right as turned her head to look in front of her. She and Rainbow Dash were almost at the base of the mountain, Rainbow Dash way ahead of her. Derpy started to frown, she being way behind. Rainbow slowed down for her friend and waited for her to catch up, when she looked back, Derpy was catching up, and Rainbow lined up with her.

"Hey Rainbow! I like racing! Maybe we can do another after this one?" Derpy yelled over the roar of the air.

"I don't know, I have to help Fluttersh-"

"Look out!" Derpy stopped.

Rainbow looked ahead of her, and almost screamed when she saw the wall coming up, but Rainbow was too cool to scream, even if Derpy were here. Rainbow crashed into the wall, with stars of multiple colors in her eyes.

When Rainbow finally got up, she looked around with blurry eyes. all she could see was the stone around her. When Derpy saw that Rainbow was awake, She ran over to her and sighed with great relief. Rainbow could not hear well; just the ringing in her ears. "I'm so glad your awake!" Derpy said, but all rainbow heard was a muffled voice. She shook her head and tried to regain her vision. Her senses were coming back to her. She saw the greyish stone more clearly now, and the form of another pony- no, wait, another pegasus. At first Rainbow didn't know what she was doing here and why, but she quickly remembered her race with Derpy.

"Rainbow? Raaiinnnboowww??"

"Uh... Yeah?" Spoke Rainbow Dash.

"Are you okay? You hit right into the wall! And.... not a pretty drawing you made on it either..." Derpy said with a disgusted tone.

Rainbow looked behind her where she crashed. There was a little blood on the wall, but not much, nothing bad. She touched her face, looking for any traces of blood on her. When she pressed against her nose, it hurt, and Rainbow knew that was going to happen. He had blood coming out of her nose, but she would fix that when she went back to Ponyville.

Rainbow looked around. It was a little... odd for a cave. Since Rainbow loved adventure, she started walking down the stoney corridor.

"Where are you going, Rainbow Dash?" shouted Derpy.

"I'm seeing whats down here!" Rainbow called back.

Derpy followed. She, too, had a little urge for adventure from time to time. She'd done some adventure before. Well, of course she had. Her cousin always took her on adventures. Its a shame no-one even knew who her cousin is. Derpy was never credited in the stories, and she didn't mind. And, Derpy sometimes saw Rainbow reading the books. Derpy was proud of her cousin. (in case you haven't picked up on it yet, its Daring Do.)

Rainbow walked further down the corridor. It was becoming dark, so she went back to the entrance of the cave, got a stick and a piece of flint, and lit the stick. She ventured back into the semi-lit cave and walked further down. After a while, The stoney surface she was on turned to a smooth stone brick. Derpy noticed too.

"Rainbow? What happened to the stone? its all... smooth."

"I dont know... Hey... whats that?" Rainbow pointed to a beam of light from ahead.

The two pegasi trotted towards it. A torch from a wall. A few more going deeper into the... can you still call it a cave?

"Rainbow? Whats with the torches?" Derpy asked, full with curiosity.

"I have no idea, but it sure looks Awesome!"

What the two pegasi didn't know, was that they were entering a tomb full of traps, puzzles. and challenges. They were entering... The Tomb of the Golden Wing

The First Puzzles

The two pegasi walked down the smooth stone hallway, a torch in Derpy's mouth. The picked up the torch as they were walking along. It seemed that they were not lit awhile ago, but the sticks themselves looked a thousand years old.

Walking down the lit hallway, the two saw Rats, mice, and some other small creatures scurrying around. Shadows danced from the light of the torch, making a dark shade against the light grey stone. Rainbow and Derpy looked at the walls. They were't like the bricks used for fireplaces, buildings, but more like cinder block.

The hall never seemed to end. Finally, after what seems liked hours, the two plopped down at the doorway of a large chamber. Resting, they looked around and chatted.

"Wow, I never knew halls could be that long," Derpy exclaimed.

"Me neither. Hey, What is this place?" Rainbow asked.

"I have no idea!" Derpy said.

The chamber had monuments near the the ceiling. There were four statues staring down at them, their paint paled. One was a green Earth pony, wrapped in vines. The next was a dark grey or black stallion, his chin up as if he were royalty. He kind of looked like Princess Luna, except a stallion instead of a mare. He was a Unicorn, too. The next was a red pegasus. Her hair looked like it was burning. The last statue was a mare, a very popular one too. The Alicorn was sculpted very accurately. Princess Celestia stood, looking proud.

The pegasi got up. In the middle of the chamber, there was a book opened up. The torches around the room made the black outlined letters glow.

When the world is still green, the mighty protect it from darkness. The fire burns in their hearts, bringing light to the world.

Green, Darkness, Fire, and Light. Four elements. The first puzzle was easy; arrange the elements from least powerful to most.

Four pressure plates were laid infront of the statues.Rainbow walked up to the third one, and put her hoof down on it. Celestia's colors lit up like neon lights, it almost looked like the real Celestia. Derpy wasn't looking at the statues when the alicorn lit up. Derpy bowed down, and looked up at the statue. "Hello, princess."

Rainbow looked at derpy as if she were crazy. "Thats not Celestia... Its just a sculpture of her" Derpy got up and looked down at the floor in embarrassment. Rainbow turned and looked behind the monument. There was a metal door at the other side of the room. Rainbow and Derpy ran up to the door and tried to open it. It would not budge.

"Hm..." Rainbow thought.

Maybe if I fly into it hard it would burst open...

Rainbow trotted back a few steps. She flapped her wings, went up into the air, and flew towards the door.

"Rainbow! Wait!" Derpy cried.

Rainbow finally thought about the bad outcome of this action, but it was far too late. All Rainbow could do was to slow herself before hitting the door with a thud.

"Oof" Rainbow grunted. The door was still not open, so Derpy went back to the plate and pressed the first one. The dark Unicorn lit up, and his color was indeed black. Derpy debated between he forth or the second plate, and she put her mind on the fourth, and the Earth pony exploded with light, but was put out with all the other ponies. Derpy reeled back in confusion, trying to figure out what just happened. She settled on choosing the wrong one, and did the same order she did, except with the second instead of the fourth.

When they were lighting up, The door at the end of the room, the door opened a little more and more. Rainbow finally regained consciousnesses while Derpy was going into the next room. Rainbow quickly got up and followed her into the next room.

The next room was full with broken junk - vases, necklaces, rings, and some other small things. In the middle of the room, there stood a pool being filled from a small tight hole above. You couldn't fly up there, because the water was coming down. The room held no book or anything. Derpy looked around while Rainbow was inspecting the pool. Derpy didn't find much, just a unbroken vase and necklace.

Derpy saw a glint in the corner of her eye; a torch reflected its light off a solid gold handle. Derpy, always interested in shiny things, went up to the handle, and try to take it with her, but she almost lost her whole mouth from trying to pull it with her. She dug up to see what was actually a lever. She pulled it again, this time upwards. The water in the pool drained. Rainbow was actually looking in the pool to see if there was a lever. When the water stopped, she thought she did something. She looked at her hooves, and found that she shifted a rock.

Hah! They thought they could fool me.

"Lets go, Rainbow Dash!"

The two pegasi flew up into where the water once spouted from.

The next room was again full of junk, but this time not broken at all.

"Too bad we don't have any bags to put them in so we could get rich." Rainbow said to Derpy.

"Why do you say that?" Derpy smiled and randomly found a bag squished into her mane. How? Rainbow thought. Then again, this was Equestria, anything could happen. Rainbow and Derpy filled the bag with the stuff that looked the most attractive to collectors.

When they finished, they headed into the next room.The grey stone turned into more like a limestone, except harder like regular stone.. It was full... of tree's?!? A underground jungle, in the middle of a mountain, in a tomb? Moss would be suspected, but a jungle?

Rainbow and Derpy had to manage through this jungle, full of tree's so they would not be able to fly over this. There was a slight glow around it. Probably to stop Unicorns from using magic. As they got closer, they saw a machete. Derpy walked over and picked it up, and went into the jungle, with a muffled, "Com oon, vainbow!"

Rainbow sighed, and followed Derpy into the jungle. When she saw Derpy again, she was about to slice some vines, ut when the large knife came in contact with the vines, it bounced off and was thrown out of Derpy's mouth. The edge was now broken and dull. What are these vines made of? The two pegasi thought, looks of shock on their faces.

Rainbow went up to the vines, and tried to pass, and she did with ease. The knife could not slice through vin- oh. The spell on the jungle must not just work on unicorns, the vines could not be cut by metal. Who made this tomb? They must have been a pretty talented unicorn....
