A young man finds himself in a world he'd never been and must now learn to live in Equestria.
A man wakes in the world of Equestria. In his new life he will experience new friends and troubles he'd have not thought possible before hand. A new life awaits him, but after so long can the things from his past ever come to haunt him. [ This person is not me. He is not basted on me. And he is not real.] Side note: I'm bad at timing this stuff but yeah the reason I've put this on hold because I've been having trouble with the romance part of the story and that was the only reason I started the story so I'm working on getting better at it before I keep going with it.
-I'm removing 'other' because I intended to make some chapters that involved characters other than the mane 6 and the princesses but that may not happen. I'll fix it if I do end up managing some thought.
A young man with had short golden brown hair and blue eyes slowly comes into consciousness as his mind began to restart itself. Two figures come into view, one blackish the other mostly white. "I believe it is waking,sister." Said the first figure in a regale feminine voice,prompting the second to move in closer.
Can you understand me?" She asked. There was silence for a moment before the darker blur spoke
"I don't think it can understand-" She was cut-off by the young man.
"What...Where am I?" He inquired, still able to make out little more than a few shapes in the room.
"You are within my bedroom the Canterlot castle." The white figure stated. The man's eyes began to take in his surroundings for the first time in full. There were two horse-like figures with free-flowing manes one black the other white, and no one else to have been speaking. He fell silent and pale with confusion which they noticed. "Are you okay? You look ill?" He was mute for a moment before falling unconscious yet again ------
He reawakens to the same room however with slightly different company.The white alicorn was speaking to an armored gray unicorn. "What...what...what..." The man couldn't find any words.
"Ah,you're awake." The alicorn noted turning to the visitor. "You must be quite offset by these standing events." She added
"What's going on? Where are the doctors?"
"Doctors?" the alicorn inquired turning to the guard whom explained the man was found in some type of medical facility "I see." she returns focus to the stranger "That location was very foreign to us. That could make you from an undocumented point of time."
"What do you mean 'Undocumented'?" The young human asked now somewhat acceptance of the fact that he is speaking to a ten foot tall pony.
"Just that.You are from a time before Equestria's recorded history. What remains of the civilization of your kind is likely just that small portion we found under this mountain and other tiny scraps like it across the world.I am sorry, but you said doctors are you ill?" She inquired
"Uh...no. No, I-I was testing the cryogenics sleep pods to find if they were safe for long-term uses." He explained
"Hmm...I see. Do you have a name?" she asked
"My name? It's Anthony. Anthony James, but most people just call me AJ. And you; what's your name?"
"I am Princess Celestia. It's a pleasure." She introduced "And the mare from earlier was my sister Princess Luna."
"Like-wise." AJ looked around the room " Say... you wouldn't happen to have my pod would you? It has some of my things inside."
"Yes I believe so, but my guards say that it refused to open at there ever mean."
"It's okay. I have the lock code...*if it still works*" He said raising from his borrowed bed. He was fairly tall, just about 5'10, and he wore a black cotton shirt and jeans on over his pale white skin which made him look as if he'd rarely step outside. Based on his looks he was no older than eighteen or nineteen years of age. With Celestia's instruction the guard lead Anthony to the steal and glass tube where he punched a series of numbers in before the drawer slipped part way open. AJ gave a sigh of relief as he removed the sneakers from the case knowing he'd not be barefoot and took the remaining devises from the drawer: his cellphone and laptop being among them.
After returning to Celestia he was informed of his being the only pod intact to which he was unfazed. AJ found himself with little more than what he had in his box and saw no real solution for his predicament. Seeing as things had gone he found no other solution than to ask Celestia for help.
"Living arrangements?" Celestia thought aloud after hearing the man's question.
"Yeah, it's a bit much to ask but I couldn't ask you to put me up in your castle." He reasoned.
"I suppose I could find someplace for you to live outside the castle if that is what you want. I'll make the arrangements for your relocation as soon as I find an appropriate location."Celestia confirmed.
As the pegasi come to a halt Anthony hopped off the chariot and began hugging the ground swearing 'never again' which was a common first reaction for non-winged passengers.After regaining himself the pesasi began to escort AJ to his new home just within the town. Needless to say the royal escort and odd passer-by brought more than their fair share of attention. It wasn't long before he found himself outside a pink two story house. The guards explain that the princess made sure the house had everything he'd need, including a map of the town before leaving.
Anthony took a look inside. The kitchen was in view of the living room and up stairs had a bed and guest room. Despite the height difference, considering that he was almost three whole feet taller than the common pony, the house was fairly roomy. The bed and guest rooms were quite simple only having a single dresser closet and of course twin sized bed. The kitchen was quite predictable as well as the living room. There was: an oven, sink, cabinets, refrigerator, a green sofa and arm chair, and a pine coffee-table, respectively.
After sliding his things into the shelf in the closet Anthony decided to go to the town hall to see for any jobs. Even if the house was rent and mortgage free he'd still need whatever this land called money to survive.he reasoned to himself.
Using the map of town the princess provided Aj was able to find the town hall with a fair amount of ease. Inside was a bit awkward, what with his being an absolutely unknown thing to the rest of the world, but considering the staff was at lest trying to be professional thing went quite smoothly. He was seated and then sent into the mayor's office shortly after.
Things where no less awkward than the main room. Mayor Mare was couscous, however very polite, despite her confusion. Once however she learned that Aj was a new citizen she became much more accommodating, showing him the listing available. The offered jobs were quite basic, not really anything to look twice at.
"Are these all of the jobs in town?" Aj inquired
"Yes." the mayor started "At lest the ones that have come through city hall recently. Most jobs become filled fairly quickly if open." she explained. Anthony took a random listing and gave Mayor Mare his thank before leaving.
He glaces down at the listing "Okay let's see here... Someone called... Rarity?" he questioned as he read the job post "Right ... so, Rarity needs a... a mannequin for a week?" he deadpanned
"... Whatever." Anthony blurted surrendering to the abnormality of the request, going to the map to find the boutique in question.
He arrived at the fashion spot and knocked audibly on the door. A woman's voice called out in reply " Who is it?"
"I'm here about the job... You needed a mannequin, Right?" Anthony called in response.
"Yes. Yes. Come in darling, it isn't locked." She continued as he went in "I wasn't expecting any pony to come quite so quickly. I'd only posted the request... this morning..." Her words began to slow as she caught sight of the person that entered her shop, changing from pleasant surprise to wide eyed shock.
"Yeah I seem to be getting that a lot lately." Anthony joked to calm the tension "I haven't even been here a whole day and I've already become the most popular guy in town... he-he." The mare chuckled along awkwardly at the bad joke, before steadying her tone a bit.
"I... um... uh, I'm sorry if I come off a bit rude but, er... well I was sort of expecting a pony." As Rarity thought on the situation a bit she started to cool off completely before a revelation lit her eyes bright and brought with it a massive grin "IIIDEEAAAAA!" She sung pulling the man in with her magic throwing him off-guard "This will be magnificent, absolutely wonderful mister... "
"J-James." he replied almost on instinct "Anthony James."
"Well Mr. James it's time for Rarity to make HISTORY!" she exclaimed dramaticly, as she set up to do, at the lest, her most unique line ever, pushing AJ behind the changing shade. "But first I must get you out of these hideous rags." Rarity stated giving her new employee no time to object as she stripped him to the bone with her magic.
"Whoa! Hey, wait what is this stuff?! what are you doing?!" Anthony questioned as the blueish aura draped his clothes over the shade top.
"It's my magic." She said as she pulled him toward her work area, unaware of his discomfort. "when I'm done with you you'll be the envy of Equestria."
It took less than an hour for Rarity to be well on her way to completing the first outfit. And now at lest partly clothed Anthony was starting to get comfortably with the things flying around him. "Hey, Rarity." he started wearing little more than an incomplete pair of pants and dress shirt "Why did you need a human mannequin, this place looks pretty well off from where I stand."
"Yes, well most of my normal mannequins are getting refurbished." the fashion mare said "They need to be repaired or replaced every now and then, due to ware. Or if there's an accident ." She said with gritted teeth, before taking a deep breath to calm her nerves. After completing the tux she took a moment to sketch him for reference before allowing him to get his cloths back. "I hope to see you again tomorrow Mr.James."
"You can call me Anthony if you want. I don't mind." He stated tying his shoe lases.
"Well if you need anything do fell free to come to me. I'm always happy to help a friend." She smiled
"If you could find a way to get people to stop staring at me I wouldn't say no to that." AJ joked
Anthony took an alternate rout home to get a better feel for the town. It took a little longer than he wanted but he thought it was better to learn the layout sooner rather than later.He arrived at his front door a bit before the sun made it to dusk and was taken a bit off as it seemed someone had closed his window shutters while he was away. He decides to ignore it chalking one up for simple ignorance and made his way in.
It was unexpectedly dark as he opened the door the only light coming from the setting sun behind him as he entered. It took a moment to get his hands on the light switch to turn it on. The instant it did he was met with a massive pair of blue eyes staring into his own obstructing all else in the room. The pink mare they belonged to sparked a smile from her bat style perch and shouted point blank in his face "Surprise!" the sudden shock sent Anthony to the ground as a multitude of other pony sprang from their hiding places with the same greeting.
No longer blinded by a face-full of pink he got a look at the room absolutely overtaken by party decorations, snack-foods and ponies as much as the room could fill with out overflow. As he looked around his almost unrecognizable living room the mare from his ceiling dropped down to meet him upright "You were surprised, right? That one always gets every pony." The pink pony said as she dropped down. upon landing she was hit with a dizzy spell from being upside-down too long " Ooo pretty colors." she wobbled as a new purple alicorn made approach.
"I think you may have over done it a little, pinkie." the alicorn stated assisting Anthony to his feet with her magic "I'm sorry about that. Pinkie pie can get a little carried away when she's throwing a party for someone." she said turning to Anthony.
"What's with this set up?" AJ asked dusting himself off.
"It's your welcome party. Duh. See?" Pinkie said referring the young man's attention to the 'welcome party' banner in plan view.
Just then a familiar face finally presented itself. "I do apologize for the intrusion, dear. When I went too Pinkie to see if she could get this party set up I intended to inform you, however she insisted it be a surprise." Rarity apologized.
"Well. no harm, no foul" AJ shrugged "At least no one is staring."
"Right..." Rarity neglected to mention the little disclaimer she gave before his arrival.
"So why the party?"
"I thought that you deserved a proper reception to Ponyville, and what better way to get you acquainted with the townspeople." Rarity reasoned.
Suddenly Pinkie pie popped up behind Anthony and started pushing him toward the designated dance floor "Don't just stand around like a lump. It's a party. Dance!"
"Oh-nonono!" Anthony jolted peeling away from the pink party planner to avoid the crowd. "Uh-uh I do not dance." He said holding his hands out in disagreement " I can't dance. I'm no good."
"Hmm..." Pinkie hummed tapping her chin; pondering the problem she came up with the best idea "I know!" she smiled " You and Twilight should dance together." she proclaimed with and ecstatic grin. Anthony and Twilight exchanged a confused look before turning to pinkie with a baffled 'what?'. Pinkie follows with "If you two dance together then you'll both look better than you actually are. It makes perfect since." she nodded
"Wow. Thanks for that, Pinkie." Twilight deadpanned
"You're welcome." The oblivious party pony beamed "Now you get out there you crazy kids!" Pinkie said shoving the unwilling pair into the thick of the dancing ponies.
Anthony looked at his fellow party hostage "Wanna go to the snack table?" Twilight agrees and they each pull up a folding chair and sit along the table where a fairly large assortment of snack foods were gathered with three of pinkie's most famous flavors of punch. It wasn't crowded like the floor due to the party having only began but it did have a bit of attention from passerby's.
"So, Anthony, what do you like to do?" Twilight asked levitating over two multi-color cupcakes with sprinkles.
"Hmm... I guess I mostly just like to read. I never really found much interest in the usual stuff people like, like sports. I cook... but that's more of a 'I do it or starve' thing." Anthony shrugged glancing down at the pastry "No thanks." he said politely pushing the snack away "I prefer muffins."
"Alright then." Twilight shrugged ion return "By the way I've never seen something like you before. What are you? Where are you from?"
"I'm human. As for where, it's hard to say. My family moved around a lot until I was ten; when my mom got a stationary job. I guess I'm from Equestria if you want to be technical." Anthony explained before leaning toward Twilight with an inquiry " Hey, Are you a princess, too?"
"Too? You mean you've already met the other princesses?" She asked receiving a nod.
"Yeah. Celestia is actually the one that helped me move here. And the other one... Luna. She stole my DS." He said as if completely unfazed.
Just as Twilight was about to comment Pinkie appears out of nowhere " It's time for party games!" she sang draging Anthony by his shirt with a hoof walking on two legs. "Since it's your party you get first shoot at the everything." Pinkie smiles. Not given a choice Anthony simply went along with the rest of the party as Pinkie planned.
