Noi was sitting at the kitchen table, scribbling furiously at a piece of paper; only to crunch it up into a ball and through it into the waste basket. Then the filly took another sheet of paper and began to scribble on it.

“Noi, you got a letter from someone named Mr. Enter.” Carrot Top called before walking into the kitchen, “Do you know him?”

The filly looked up from her work and smiled eagerly, “Well duh, Mr. Enter is one of the best publishers in all of Equestria! I sent him one of my stories to publish.”

If she wasn’t so use to her sister’s stupidity, Carrot top would’ve face hoofed right now. Sighing, the mare handed over the blue envelope.

Smiling, Noi ripped open the envelope and quickly read the letter, only to have her smile diminish.

Dear Noi Top,

I regret to inform you that I cannot publish your story. Reasons being that I publish books, earth pony is two words, and the plot is just plain boring!

-Mr. Enter

“Are you okay Noi?” Carrot Top asked.

The filly wiped a tear from her eye and nodded her head, “Yeah, it’s just that I worked really hard on my story, Where the Wind Blows.”

“I could always help you.” the mare suggested.

Noi placed the letter back into the envelope and gazed at her older sister in surprise, “You will?”

“Oh course,” Carrot replied with a smile, “That’s what sisters are for after all.” Then she took Noi’s paper and started reading it.

Candy Cane sighed and gazed at her opponent; a big blue pegasus with an eye patch.

“You’re going down.” the filly exclaimed before lifting up a pillow and throwing it at the pegasus.

“Argh!” he growled before falling onto the plush yellow floor.

“That’s all I have so far.” Noi explained.

“Pretty good” Carrot Top replied, “Though I’d make it a little more detailed. For instance, instead of the blue pegasus, describe what kind of blue the pegasus is. Is he aqua, dark blue, and so forth.”

“Okay.” Noi quickly took her paper back and scribbled on it some more. Once she was satisfied, the filly handed it back to her awaiting sister.

“Let’s see.” she said.

Candy Cane sighed and gazed at her opponent, a sky blue pegasus with an eye patch.

“You’re going down.” The filly exclaimed before lifting up a pillow and throwing it at the pegasus.

“Arhg!” he growled before falling onto the plush, sunflower yellow floor.

“Much better now.” the earth pony mare stated before giving it back to her younger sister, “After work, I’ll take another look at it.” Then she placed the mail on the table and walked away.

Once Noi’s sister left, the filly took a deep breath began writing again; only to stop a few minutes later in frustration.

“Darn it, guess this is what Rainbow Dash calls writer’s block.” Yawning, Noi jumped off her chair and trotted towards the kitchen cupboard, “Maybe a little snack will help me think.” She muttered to herself.

As the filly opened the cupboard and reached for the microwavable hay-fries, she heard a drum beat and then a guitar following pursuit.

“What in Celestia’s mane?” Noi asked no pony in particular.

“There’s two paths in front of me, at the paths of one’s true self.” a stallion’s voice sang.

Curious, Noi trotted towards a window and looked through it. There were three ponies, two red and white unicorns and a silver earth pony. While the twin unicorns were playing their instruments, the earth pony was singing into a powerless microphone.

“Tirek is standing to the right. He says, both paths lead to death.”

Suddenly, an idea struck her. Like the speed of lightning, Noi galloped to her chair, grabbed her pencil with her mouth, and wrote furiously on her paper.

“Candy Cane stood on a cliff that over looked the city. A pillow in one hoof, and a teddy bear in the other. She knew that she had a long path ahead of her, one that would surly lead to death. However, it was her duty to protect all of ponykind; and that was exactly what she was going to do.”

“Do you like it?” Noi asked eagerly.

Carrot Top gazed at the story in amazement, “Noi, how did you write such a fantastic story? There were twists and turns, with Candy Cane’s friend turning out to be a master thief and liar? It’s amazing!”

“Thank you,” the filly smiled happily, “I got my inspiration from listening to our neighbors playing different songs.”

Carrot Top smiled sweetly and ruffled her sister’s mane, “Well this was a fantastic story, keep up the work and in no time you’ll see your books all over the place.” Then the mare yawed, “I’m going to take a little nap, see you during dinner.” The tiered mare walked into the living room where she flopped onto the cherry sofa.

Grinning, Noi took another sheet of paper and began to copy her story onto it. Once she was done, she placed the copy into an envelope, licked it closed, put a stamp on it, and headed outside towards their mailbox to mail her letter. She didn’t care if it got rejected, as long as she got at least one good comment from Mr. Enter, it would be worth it.

When he finished reading the paper, Cadence smiled and gave it to her husband.

“Looks like Noi really improved from last time.” she remarked.

Shining smiled as he read the paper. “It’s still just a little story, but Mr. Enter is really impressed.”

“Remind me again why you don’t just use your name for your publishing company?” the alicorne questioned.

“Makes it more fun,” Shining replied, “Besides my sister would probably be all over me trying to have me publish some of her books.”

Cadence just chuckled before taking a piece of paper and a quill from their night stand. “What should I say? That Mr. Enter is very pleased and that he likes your story?”

“And add that I’m going to send it to Prince Blueblood to read.” the stallion added.

“Ah yes, that obnoxious bookworm would defiantly like this story.” Cadence replied smugly.

Once she finished the letter, Cadence put the piece of paper into a blue envelope and set it on the nightstand. Tomorrow, they'll mail it to Noi.

"Good night." Shining Armor yawned before turning off the lights.
