Both sisters told the ponies from Ponyville to gather on the outside, on the hills near the town's park. The ponies, knowing that such a request was unusual, were eager to see what kind of surprise their princesses prepared for them. To the ponies, the Summer Sun celebration meant that the summer was on its high: it was the longest day of the year. But to both princesses, it meant something completely different: it meant the day that Luna came back. The day that both sisters were finally reunited after one thousand years. The day when both hearts wouldn't linger for its missing pieces anymore. The sisters kept looking from their balcony in Canterlot, being happy to be able to share with the ponies the joy that both felt. For this particular night, Luna hasn't raised the moon. It was part of the sisters' plan for the day coming. On this very much cherished day, both sun and moon would soar through the sky together. Each stellar body would shift its position to face the ponies, obscuring its partner for one slight moment. Just to resume its dance and let the other take its place. Dancing like that on this joyful day. Both princesses hoped that this act would bring happiness and joy to all their subjects, by teaching the ponies a valuable lesson altogether: forgiveness. Princess Celestia gently nuzzled her sister's neck and asked: "Are you ready, Lu'?" Celestia asked with a genuine smile on her face. "I'm ready, 'Tia." Luna smiled back to her sister. Both sisters focused on their magic and soon enough, both their horns began to glimmer. * * * It was nearing dawn already. Nature's symphony consisted of the waking birds, happily chirping in the trees all around the ponies from Ponyville, the still active crickets also giving their share of chirps, and the most majestic without a doubt, the wind's gentle blow that ruffled itself on everypony. The sky began to lit itself; red light soon flooded the eyes of everypony present. Families hugged their fillies and colts, lovers shared the most passionate embrace; ponies everywhere were now all part of the same family. The red light soon subdued, making way for an orange tone that shone accompanied by a bluish faint light. And so it began. The day in which both moon and sun reigned. > Author's Notes > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inspired by: Einstürzende Neubauten - Total Eclipse of The Sun The beauty, tender glow extinguished The sky dull from a breeze Ghostly the dawn without its red Uncanny, estranged to our nature The light like lead Ripped in the dark, a tiny sickle As small as cut by a surgical knife The sun's last spark melts away Not unlike a dying wick Now stands disc on disc And crushes my heart All I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really want to see Is a total eclipse of the sun 'Ah' says everyone... Just the birds are silent with surprise All I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really want to see Is a total eclipse of the sun Herp derp, it is a Solstice celebration, not an Equinox, you fucking retard! ORLY? Equinox = Aequus (same) nox (night). The same as night. Celestia = Luna.
