> A Shimmering Dazzle > by isuckdotcom > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Traveling to Another World > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh, my library. A place where I can go to escape my reality. Crystal walls, large windows, sparkling chandeliers, and of course, pillows and books. My comfort zone. My home. The only place i can relieve stress. But I can't stay there forever. Ever since this whole castle buisiness, my life has been taken up with meetings, studies, and visits to many other places-even different countries! It's all very stressful. On my special shelf (full of books I absolutely CAN'T forget), I keep a journal. It's leather bounded with a depictment of Princess Celestia's cutie mark on the cover. Me and my friend Sunset Shimmer write to each other in that book. Recently, she has written me a letter for me to visit her over summer break. She told me this: Dear Princess Twilight, Lately, I've been wondering about your life in Equestria. How much has it changed since I was last there? I mean, besides the time I stole your crown. I'm still pretty embarassed at myself for doing that. Stuff over here has been pretty crazy, too. I was thinking maybe you could power up the portal again and visit me for a few weeks for summer break! Your human friends would love to see you and we wrote a song to perform in front of you! Let me know how things are going and if you can come. Also, tell Princess Celestia that I miss her. Tell her I said hey. Your student and friend, Sunset Shimmer. I've still been thinking how to write back and what I should say. I would hate to hurt her feelings, along with the rest of my human friends. In fact, I'm thinking of asking Spike to help keep watch of the castle and tell everypony that I'm gone. Maybe I'll do that now. I walked out of my library and into the main hall of the castle. Spike was dusting some old bookshelves. "Spike? Can you do me a little favor?" I said nervously. "Sure, Twi. What is it?" He replied. "I was wondering, could you help look after the castle for a few weeks? I'm going to visit Sunset Shimmer." I nervously waited for a reply. "Yeah! I'd love the job! It might be good for you to get some stress of your shoulders. Go ahead, I promise you won't be disspointed!" I beamed with delight. "Thank you so, so, soooo much!" I ran up the stairs in euphoria. I activated the portal by putting the journal on the top frame of the new machinery. it glowed a beautiful magenta glow. I hopped in, getting swirled through a new dimension. When I hopped out, I gleefully stood up and admired my hands. Sunset Shimmer was sitting next to the portal, peacefully writing in her journal. It was like mine, only with her cutie mark on the front. She glanced up, surprised. "I didn't expect you to come so early! I was going to write you an update!" I smiled and sat down next to her. "You can just tell me now. I'd love to hear." "Well, it's getting late and I was just about to head home. I'll tell you on the way, though." "Sure! How do we get there?" "In my car." "What's a car?" Sunset showed me over to an area of the school I'd never noticed before. It had a black cement floor, and there were three or four shiny carriages parked in different spots. I recognized them. We both walked up to a pastel orange one, with flame marks decorating the sides. It had no roof, which was odd. "This is a car. It's like a carriage, but without anypony to pull it. It works like this..." Sunset plugged in some keys into a hole and pulled some triggers. The car made a deep rumbling sound, which scared me. But if Sunset drove one, it must be safe. So I decided not to react. The car moved backwards as she stepped on a pedal beneath her and pulled a small trigger in the front. Then, after it backed away, it stopped for a moment and she pulled the trigger once more. She stepped on the pedal, going slightly faster than before. She clicked a few buttons near the front window. A sound blasted through speakers on the sides of the door. She turned the volume down. "Cool, huh?" She said. I was too shocked to say anything. "So, the news is that The Rainbooms got a record label and just recorded our first album! I'll put it in for ya." Sunset stopped near the curb and opened a disk. She placed in a small slot in the front of the car. The sound came on again, and she turned it up. Blissful sounds of drums, guitars, a keytar, and a bass played through the speakers. "Shine like rainboowws, oh whoa. Shine like rainbooows, oh whoa." She sang along with the music. Soon enough, we arrived at a small house. It was made of a sand-colored brick, with red-dust colored tiles on the roof. She parked the car in front of the house and pulled the keys out. Both of us got out and started towards the door. When we got inisde, it was a bit dark. Sunset switched on a little lamp by the door. Inside the first room, there was a little hallway leading into a kitchen. To the right of the hall, there was a black leather couch facing a large flatscreen T.V., blankets scattered around the floor and couch. To the left of the hall, there was a staircase leading down. Probably her room or something. "So, this is what I call paradise. My mom used to own it before my dad died, so she gave it to me after she moved down the street. She thought since I was old enough, I could be responsible for a house this big. Er, more like this small." Sunset led me into the kitchen. "Since we might be up studying, I thought maybe we could have some coffee! You might like it." Sunset grabbed a mug from a cupboard and placed on an island in the center of the kitchen. Hitting a few buttons on a machine on the counter, she pressed the mug against the edge and poured a dark liquid into the mug. She handed it to me, which I blew off the heat and took a small sip. "It's quite bitter." I commented. "But it makes me feel more awake. This is a lot different from Ponybucks coffee." I kept drinking. Then we left into the living room to watch some T.V. It was a foolish mistake. > Sonata Failed > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aria hid quietly behind the wall next to me. I forgot what we were doing in Sunset Shimmer's house. Aria brought out a plastic water bottle filled with a cream colored liquid. Now I remember! It was right after we lost our necklaces to The Rainbooms... People started throwing food at us, as we ran as quickly as possible off the stage. When we were finally safe, we stopped and rested for a bit. "These outfits are ridiculous, Adagio. When can we change?" Aria asked. "Time will come. But I have a plan." "Already?!" "Yes, already. Do not doubt me. Now, Aria, what I need you to do is take this bottle and pour into Sunset's coffee at night." "Uhm...I'm confused." "What you need to do is, at 10:00 PM, Twilight will be visiting Sunset Shimmer's house. I guarantee they will make some coffee and drink it. Pour a couple drops into their cup when they are distracted, and wait for them to drink. Then, get them into the van, and you'll have to take Sonata with you, and bring them back to our base. Got it?" Adagio explained. Aria just stood in confusion. She processed it through her head and finally got it. "What if they don't make coffee?" Aria asked. "Take some tranquilizer darts with you." "Adagio, even I think that's stretching it a bit." "Well, do it anyway! No time to lose!" Adagio walked away. "Now I'm stuck with O' Weird one." "Sunset Shimmer, could you tell me how you can afford all this?" Twilight asked as she sipped her coffee. "Sure. The human counterpart of me ran away from home and actually attempted suicide, but I took her place. I went back into the house she came out of and pretended to be her. Honestly, it was hard. Her parents were very nosy. I pay for this stuff by a maximum wage job on the weekends and some money her mom loaned me." "What happened to your human counterpart?" "I don't know. I convinced her not to kill herself, but she just ran off into the east." "Huh. East..." Sunset and Twilight continued their subtle conversation, meanwhile Aria and I hid behind a wall, holding that water bottle thing I said earlier. "What do we do with this thing? Can I shoot the gun? When we get home can I have some ice cream? Why-" "Shut up, blue hair. I'll handle plan B. The time has come when they leave the kitchen." Aria said, watching as Sunset and Twilight headed into the other room. Aria raced quietly towards the counter with the bottle and poured a few drops in. She came back to our hideout. Then we waited for like a whole 5 minutes for them to FINALLY come back. "Why do I love this stuff so much?!" Twilight said. She took a sip from the coffee. For a moment, she was perfectly normal. Until the stuff kicked in. She wobbled around on her feet, and her eyes slowly began to close. "Sunset help," She muttered in a small voice. She fell onto the ground. I was so happy our plan WORKED this time! I jumped out of our hiding spot and squealed "YAY! IT WORKED!" We can all imagine how that turned out. > A Plan Revealed > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight woke up. She was sitting in a small wooden chair, her arms tied. Behind her was Sunset Shimmer, who was still snoring away. She looked around. The room was dark and looked like an unfinished basement. There was furniture on one side of the room, and you could see parts of the wall's insides. "Hello, Twilight Sparkle." Adagio spoke. "What are you doing with us? I thought we defeated you with our counter spell!" Twilight replied. "Indeed, that is true. But just because you take our most important mean of protection doesn't mean are wasted away completely." Twilight noticed something about her. She was a LOT skinnier. She looked starving and tired. She wondered to herself, "If they feed on negative energy, does that mean they eat it? Will they starve to death? Maybe defeating them wasn't a good idea after all..." She thought. "Are you...anorexic?" Twilight asked. Adagio paused for a bit. "No, the negative energy we feed off of was our source of natural food. Normal food doesn't fill our kind as well. I haven't eaten anything since you destroyed our gems." Twilight felt sorry. "Well, why are we here? Can you tell us?" Adagio laughed manically. "Ha ha, It's my plan. I knew you would eventually crack our gems. I've found a way to re-create our necklaces. We take the shards from the broken gem, replicate them, and use magic to put them together." "Where are you gonna find magic?" "Right here." Adagio pointed to Twilight and Sunset. Sunset woke up suddenly. "Huh?! What'd I miss? Why am I staring at a wall?" "Sunset. Look this way." Twilight said. Sunset turned around. "THE DAZZLINGS?!" She screamed in horror. She fell back asleep; she still had a dart in her arm. Adagio held out her hands, revealing handfuls of gem shards. She closed her eyes, concentrating. Twilight was filled with an awful feeling. It felt like when you go down a drop on a roller coaster, but stronger and much worse. Glittering auras of magic seeped out of her and onto the gems. The gems began to glow and lift up. More magic came out of Twilight, as tears filled her eyes. It hurt more and more with each second. Finally, after what seemed like hours-but was mere seconds-the gems formed and plopped into Adagio's cupped hands. She laughed like crazy. "You're a maniac!" Twilight whispered with all her strength. Adagio simply smiled all evil-like. She attached the gems to necklace cords and gave one each to her fellow sirens. The Dazzlings were surrounded in their dark magic, energy filled the room. They transformed almost instantly. Extended pony-tails grew from the bottom of their hair, ears appeared above their heads, and colored evil-looking fairy wings sprouted from their backs. Adagio's eyes glowed pure red. "You two will provide us with plenty of magic for our well being. That energy we extracted from you is only the beginning. The more power we gain, the stronger our voices become, and the more we can feed off of negative energy. And when we gain the maximum amount of power, we will divide and conquer Equestria and this world! All the civilians will become slaves and we will always get what we want." Twilight panicked. She had nowhere else to go, nothing left to do, and no one by her side-besides an unconscious Sunset Shimmer, that didn't count-to support her in succeeding. The only thing she could do is wait. Wait for help. And she doubted it would ever come. > Pinkie is sometimes annoying > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The last day of school. Finally it had passed. It was June 8th, the day after school ended. Rainbow Dash awoke from her comfortable bed and raced downstairs in her pajamas. Her dad was sitting in the living room, watching football. Her mom was in the kitchen, cleaning up dishes. "Rainbow! How did you sleep last night?" Her mom asked as she approached the kitchen counter. "Great, mom. What's for breakfast?" Rainbow replied. "I haven't made anything. Why don't you go ahead and get yourself some cereal?" "Sure, why not." Rainbow thought. She reached into the pantry and grabbed a box of fruit loops. She poured it in a bowl along with milk and sat down at the dining table. She peered past the corner and watched the T.V. as she ate. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. She brought her bowl of cereal with her to the door and answered it. "Hey Rainbow! We have an extreme emergency and we need you now!" Pinkie Pie yelled. The pink haired girl was still wearing her pajamas, a pink frilly tank top and matching shorts. She dragged Rainbow out the door and raced across the street holding her arm. Rainbow spilled her cereal everywhere. She didn't mind, this happened often. As they went inside Pinkie's house, she saw her other friends, those of which Twilight called "The Hair 5". "Pinkie, what is this all about?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, cleaning milk and fruit loops off her shirt and rainbow hair. She examined the room. Fluttershy was falling asleep on the floor holding a stuffed bunny, Rarity has curlers tangled up in her hair, and Applejack was the only one wearing actual clothes. "Twilight and Sunset have been KIDNAPPED!!!" Pinkie cried. "Calm down, dear. I'm sure it's fine." Rarity replied. "Ya'll are sure she's gone? Ah swear ah saw 'er last night." Applejack said. "Absolutely posi-toovly!!!" Pinkie exclaimed. "Okay, CHILL Pinkie. If they were kidnapped, who could've POSSIBLY done it?!" Rainbow asked. Pinkie twitched nervously. "The...t-the..." "OH, SPIT IT OUT ALREADY!!!" Rainbow yelled. "THE DAZZLINGS! Poofy hair, Taco girl, and purple hair did it!" All of them gasped, and Applejack did a spit-take with the cider she was drinking. The cider landed on Fluttershy's messy bed head. "Um...excuse me, Applejack...you kind of spit all over me..." "OH! Ah'm mighty sorry, sugarcube." "That's okay..." "BACK TO THE POINT!" Pinkie yelled. "I've gathered all of you here to help me find them. Along with the mane five!" "The what?" Everyone asked. "FOLLOW ME TO CHS!" Pinkie dragged everyone out and ran to the high school. They ended up right underneath the horse statue in the front of the building. "Why are we here by the portal? I'm awfully tired of you dragging us places." Rarity panted. "This one last time, kay? We have to get their help." Pinkie said. "You aren't acting your usual self...have you had sugar today yet?" Rainbow asked. Pinkie sighed and shook her head. She dragged them through the portal. "PINKIE, NOOOO!" They all screamed as they transformed. "So what yer sayin is, you girls need our help to rescue our Twilight and Sunset Shimmer in the...human world?" Pony AJ asked. "Yep!" Human AJ replied. "Hop on through!" Human Pinkie said. "Wait, before we go, we have to give the pony us nicknames so the author doesn't have to say which one of us is talking." "Stop breaking the fourth wall, Pinkie." Human Dash said. "Okie dokie loki!" Human Pinkie agreed. She began to name the pony versions of themselves. "Trusty-kick, Uncommon, Spectrum Sprint, Pinky Cake, and Timidity!" "Pinkie knows too many words. She must go." Rainbow Dash said in a dark tone. "Wait, what?" "LET'S GO GUYS COME ON!!!" Pinkie exclaimed, ignoring Rainbow's comment. They stepped through the portal.
