Luna's Nightmare Night Poem/Pipsqueaks Adventure

View Online

Every year during nightmare night,
Luna likes to give out frights.
She will dress up as Nightmare Moon,
and scare you until you start to swoon!
Instead of treats, she gives out tricks.
With candy that makes you sick,
or gumdrops that’ll turn you blue,
sometimes gifts that make you mew.

During that frightful time, monster do not like to hide.
They come out from their murky lairs,
to feast on candy of many flavors
If you do not give it to them, they will choose you instead,
and invade your town and soon your homes.
So every year on nightmare night, you can not go to run and hide.
Instead give your candy to Luna, who gives it to those ghoulish drones, and protects you for another year more.

Not to fret dear foal, not yet,
there is another side to this scary night,
One I think you might just like.
Not all your candy belongs to them, some you can have instead.
And every year there is a feast, where you disguise yourself to trick the beasts.
The townspeople all shall gather, eat pumpkin pies and grow fatter.
Tricks and treats are both given, as the town sings its merry songs, and plays some games, all night long!

Doesn’t this sound like fun?
So don your mask, give a laugh, and enjoy it while you can.
This mystical night comes only once a year,
and always it is so grand.
With falling leaves of yellow, red, and orange,
they litter the ground with candy wrappers.
Children shrieking, monsters booing, and all around good fun.
Don’t forget to return the favour,
and go out there to give your neighbor the best of scares!

A merry Nightmare Night to you,
from a fluffy person, who is your DOOOOM!

The little foal ran through the town, his basket full of goodies. He was so eager to give these to his favorite princess, Luna! Pipsqueak loved Nightmare night with all of his heart! Too bad he wa adventuring alone to the statue at the moment. The other foals were still trick or treating.

He happily approached the statue, humming a common Nightmare Night rhyme. “Nightmare Night, Nightmare Night, give me something sweet to bite!” As he finished it, he stopped at the statues base.

It was a large alicorn, and a demonic looking one too. Slitted eyes, fanged teeth, and fierce armor. It was the Nightmare Moon statue, and to him it was so life-like! Almost too life-like…

A rustle in the bush made him squeal in terror, but soon it turned to laughter as he enjoyed the scares, as you were supposed to do on this wondrous night, and a tiny squirrel jumped up.

“Hello there!” He called out gently and dug around in his bag. When he visited Sweet Apple Acres, the elderly mare there gave him an apple! He took it out and slowly rolled it to the critter. “Happy Nightmare Night!” He cooed gently as the animal picked it up and waved a thankyou to him.

Giggling, he laid a few pieces of candy out before the statue, but not before thinking carefully about his choices. He wanted Princess Luna to have the best candy! Merely five minutes later he laid out five delicious bars of chocolate, all for his favorite princess.

Another rustling in the bush nearby, he glanced at it and sighed. “Mister squirrel, I have no more apples.” He explained to the bush carefully.

A growl caught him off-guard for a few seconds, but he waved it off and laughed. “Good one friends! For a second I thought you were a…” His eyes grew as big as dinner plates when the creature stalked out from the bush. “MONSTER!” He hollered in true fear this time.

Before him stood a lumbering, gigantic, vicious, timber wolf! It was like all the stories said about them too, wooden, but it had sharp claws and teeth, and green glowing eyes. He let out another shriek of pure terror and sprinted at full speed away from the terrifying beast. “Help he yelled!” But too little too late, he noticed he ran the wrong direction, Ponyville was the other way around!

A snap near his tail made him cry out once more. “Help!”

He ran and ran until he thought he was doomed. His tiny colt legs could not take him as far as an adult, and soon the large beast cornered him against a tree in the dank Everfree. The wolf slowly, as if enjoying the terror it caused, walked up to him, and as it opened its mouth to take a large bite from him, when something happened.

“Boo.” The wolf said.

Pip made a face. Wolves did not speak. A flash of green soon answered his questions.

“Hahaha!” A changeling now stood before him, laughing. “Best, trick, EVER!” Her laughter was however cut short by the look of dislike and fear on Pips face. “Too much?” She asked.

He nodded mutely.

“Aw geez, sorry kid. I suppose the chase was overdoing it… Sorry about that, just the queen is encouraging us to interact with you ponies, and get on your good sides. How about I fly you home, and buy you lots of candy?”

“Promise not to turn into a wolf again?” He asked.

The changeling gave a grin. “I have a better idea.” She snickered.

"Ok, but I hope it is good. You went too far with that prank, making me run into this scary forest!" He said, standing up on slightly wobbly legs. He was willing to put the mean prank behind him...

...Minutes later, Pip came into town, and riding on a very large timberwolf. “I am Pipsqueak!” He laughed to the night. “Mighty TimberWolf Tamer!”

At first the ponies around him screamed in fear, but the second the changeling turned back into her form, they all were laughing joyfully. For the foal, Pipsqueak, it was his second best Nightmare Night. the first, of course, being the one when he meet Princess Luna.
