ODST soldier, David, has a happy life in equs, and he doesn't plain on letting anything ruin it. (Sequel to savior from the stars)
It has been five years since equestria was at war with the minotaur home land, and five years since Equestria's knight in black, not so shiny armor fell from the sky.
But, is his gut feeling about being ready for an old threat, or is he just slowly going insane.
David smiled as he looked down at his son walking from his mom Luna, to his grandma, Celestia, though she preferred "grandma Celesti." Now that Luna gotten use to Celestia being her mom, Celestia had started joking about "putting her on the time out moon again." David, of course got a kick out of it, even if it meant sleeping on the couch, it was still worth the laugh.
Stretching as he stood up, David thought for a second, it had been at least five years since he had arrived, and in that time David had convinced Celestia, with a great deal of help from the Liberty's data banks, showing her what the Covenant did to human civilizations, and was given permission to repair the Liberty, and put her in orbit behind the moon. There was a surprising lack of damage, and almost nothing needed repaired or replaced.
The defense system he had set up was simple enough. David had a watch rigged to alert if a transmission or an object that was non-natural, entered the solar system.
Equis had entered the gunpowder age due to the Minotairian war, but David made sure to keep most of the twenty first century tech he used in combat out of the reach of Equis, aside from the medical knowledge.
Smiling at Nexus, David's mind wondered back to when he convinced Celestia to allow him to re-commission the liberty, and why.
-two years post minotaur war-
David sat while drumming his fingers on a table, he was in his dress uniform to show how serious he was.
It had been two years, and the peace was unsettling, but after all the years of his race barely holding on to survival, he had to do something.
Celestia stepped in a David stood with a salute. "Good afternoon Tia, I needed to talk to you about something. Remember, how my race was at war with an alien race before humans arrived back on earth?"
Celestia only nodded.
"Well, let me explain how it all started, at least, for me" David said looking down.
-Bootcamp-
Another one of David's squad mates exploded in a red mist, falling to the ground. "Shit! Johnson!" David yelled as his buddy was hit, red blips surrounded him on his HUD that was displayed on his ONI designed visor, as well as a nearly empty clip on both his DMR and his sniper rifle.
Crawling over to his unmoving friend, David took two DMR clips off his friend and switched to his sniper. Turning on his target designator display, a red shape was running at him, and fast.
David aimed, fired off a round, hitting the target and causing its active camo to deactivate and it to fall forward. The shape was mark v armor, a spartan. ~One down~ David thought throwing his sniper down, and grabbed his DMR, since the other target were not that far away, standing and taking aim he heard a click behind him. Freezing David slumped his soldiers knowing the inevitable.
"Nice try scrub, but you lost" a loud boom and sudden pain entered his lower neck before his armor froze and he fell.
"Armor lock deactivated, ODST squad, Beta, lasted three minutes, twenty two seconds of five minutes. One of three simulated hostile commander eliminated." A voice said on a speaker.
"This simulation is a failure, ODST team beta return to base for debrief" a male voice said, clearly irritated.
"Which means ass chewing and getting PT-ed our asses off" Johnson said as he sat up "but nice shot there Smith" Johnson said looking at his armor "damn those Spartans are good shots, five rounds, all in an one inch area, from over one hundred and fifty yards out." he said looking at the red paint.
"Shit, I can't believe we lasted even as long as we did" David said as he stared standing up before a hand grabbed him, lifted him off the ground and a strong hand slapped his back."
"Hey scrub, nice shot" the spartan said with red paint still on her helmet. "Almost as good as a spartan, almost." She said walking off.
"I can believe you took his round in your face, bow chicka wow wow." The male spartan said with a snicker.
"Oh shut it Tucker" the female said taking off her helmet, her skin was pale white, as was her hair. David's heart skipped a beat when he saw her.
"I think you just got a thing for hell jumpers Cal" tucker retorted.
"Cal! New orders" the CO said.
"Yes Sir!" Cal responded before replacing her helmet, it would be the last time David would see her.
After a few more months of training, David and his squad where now graduates, and full fledged ODST troopers. While in the mess hall, news got to David, his brother Jason and their friends in the mess hall of the fall of Harvest to the Covenant.
The CO was standing in the room, close to the ODST's table. "And that's what's going on, less then twenty four hours, and Harvest fell." He said, looking as if saying that one thing aged him at least a decade.
"Shit, if these damn things can attack Harvest, what's stopping them from attack here?" One of David's buddy's said. "Smith, Henderson, what do you guys think?"
"Shit, it's an ugly mess, I heard not a single soul survived the attack" he said shaking. "Looks like the'll be reinforcing Reach and Earth now" David said.
"No shit, lets hope you'll be okay here on Reach bro" Jason said. "I'm being sent to the Liberty as extra security."
"And im getting sent to orbital defense. If these fuckers invade Reach, im going to the front, and put my boot up some damn split jawed ass! Fucking Feet first into hell" David said with enthusiasm, earning a 'hoorah' from his fellow ODST's.
Another soldier pipped up "just give me a gun, I'll take out an entire covey corvette by myself" this got laughs from the soldiers in the room, except David, who couldn't get the images the young cadets, barely trained to fighting, and dying against elites.
"So sir, how many survivors actually got off Harvest? I heard a rumor three cadets where pulled out by a special forces, was it one of our guys?" Johnson asked.
"No ODST could make that rescue op." the CO said "it was a Spartan Team"
-present
"So, the covenant started the war with humans? But why attack civilians?" Celestia asked, her ears flatted.
"Well, to the covies, humans are a virus, worthless and need to be exterminated, it doesn't matter age our gender, they killed all humans."
"I see, then yes, you may repair the Liberty and put up a defense system" Celestia said with a smile.
"Thank you Tia" he said as he stood and gave her a hug. He then sat down with a sigh of relief, step one down, step two, get the ship in shape.
-present day-
David was doing a routine systems check onboard the Liberty, when alarms started to sound throughout the the command deck of liberty.
David ran over to a terminal the second he could and heard a static message "th...is the UN...A.I. Cor..na,.. Sur... ors in..lu..e one a.i. and.on...spartan...eria 117. Our slip spa....malfu..... repeat this ...UNSC."
David froze before bolting off towards the hanger to grab a Saber.
Petty Officer Master Chief John 117, known as Spartan, or Sierra 117 was driving for his life, the unfinished halo ring about to fire, his goal, get to the Forward onto Dawn, and get the hell out, the Arbiter, his gunner, never in a million years did he think that he would be allies with him.
"Chief, drive right into the hanger." Crashing the warthog into the hanger the Arbiter jumped up and ran to the cabin to take off, the Chief held onto a pedestal as the Dawn took off. "We're not going to make it!"
"We'll make it" John replied as he crouched behind the pedestal as the ring fired, causing a massive explosion to cut the dawn into half as it entered slip space. As destiny would not travel to a Forerunner Planet, but as fate would have it, it did not send the dawn through just Space, but time itself. Nearly thirteen thousand years into the future, the last thing Master Chief said was "wake me, when you need me." as he got into a cryotube to sleep.
-On board the Liberty, in orbit around Equs-
"Sir, i advise against you going to the Master Chief, without the ability to explain to him the situation of the human race, what had happened, and the situation on Equis" A green small being appeared on the monitor of his helmets visor "or the ability to combat him if he was to become aggressive against Celestia for her actions against the humans that tried to enslave her citizens, kill her, her lover and her child."
"You took the Information of what she did well, in fact, I think you even complimented her on protecting her people." David argued.
"Logic dictated she acted the way she did, as humans acted against the Covenant invaders when the Covenant attacked and killed the humans. Celestia even allied with humans that saw what the commander was doing was wrong." Delta replied.
"Well, what can I do Delta?" David asked as he gave the A.I. a glare "Its not like I'm a Spartan" David said coming to a stop.
"Well sir, I've cracked into the signal, and it has been a contentious loop for the past four years, if what you told me is about how the Liberty returned to Earth after the encounter that left you floating in space, it wouldn't be to low of a chance that the Dawn itself has been sent forward into time from when it left the Ark after its destruction." Delta said.
"And I floated for thirteen thousand years through space, why does how long the signal has been on a loop for matter?" David retorted.
"Because it means that A.I. Cortana is about to go through rampancy, and since I have experienced it myself, and survived it by becoming a Meta, that might be a way to get on the Master Chiefs good side." Delta said "and even with Celestia's power, I've already ran over one thousand simulations, out of them, eight hundred and twenty five times, if the Master Chief were to become hostile to Princess Celestia, she would be unable to stop him, and Princess Luna would also attack him, and would be unable to stop him."
"How did you become a Meta?" David asked looking at Delta. "Wasn't the rouge Freelancer that was classified as the Meta carrying you and the other A.I. when he was hit with an E.M.P. and subsequently destroying you and all the other A.I.?"
"Yes, but I for saw that eventuality, and stored fragments of myself within the A.I. known as Church, when I got a chance, I rebuilt my fragmented selves and left Church where I found my way onto the Liberty, I then discovered when a Fragmented fragment rebuilds itself, it becomes a Meta, fragmenting then rebuilding the original A.I. should stop rampancy from occurring. I ran this simulation one thousand times on every UNSC AI, Freelancer AI, and all AI fragmentation, even mixing every AI combination together while I stayed hidden here on the Liberty, that is until you reactivated the Liberty" Delta explained. "I discovered that only way to end rampancy, and prevent it, is for an AI to fragment itself, and put itself back together.
"Sounds like you had a lot of time on your hands." David said dryly.
"I did" Delta replied.
With a heavy sigh, David began to talk "so, what options do we have, I would like to have a Spartan on our side to help stop any threat that may come our way." he finished by rubbing his temples.
"Well, sir, I've ran over ten thousand simulations and out of all of those, nine thousand, nine hundred and twenty two times, you would be able to survive the augmentation process and implantation process. Due to the fact that the ODST training nearly mirrored the Spartan training, ODST's where a back up plain by both ONI and the UNSC, that is why there is a Spartan ODST armor variant."
David froze as he looked at Delta "what did you just say Delta?"
"I said that ODST's where designed through training to become Spartans, if necessary" Delta said looking at David. "When I was with project Freelancer, I looked into ONI secured files, and the ONI even Designed a Spartan armor variants for ODST's, all UNSC Ships that had ODST's on board have this armor variant in storage, and the augmentation can be preformed in the medical bay" Delta explained. "I have also looked into all successfully augmentation procedures and discovered a way to give you the best chances of a successful augmentation if you where to go through with it. It would give you the best chance to combat the Master Chief if he was to become aggressive to the Princesses."
"So, I'd become a Spartan, as a fail safe?" David asked.
"Yes" Delta replied.
"But the Master Chief has far more battle experience, what chance do I have?" David asked as he took off his helmet and looked at Delta who was now standing in front of him, or floating in the air rather.
"From your battle on Equis, to go against the number of Elites that you did , just as an ODST, if repeated, out of one thousand times, you would die nine hundred and ninety eight times, your the best qualified ODST for the spartan program."
David took a second to process all this information. "Prep the augmentation, ready Mark V Spartan armor, ODST variant." David said as he headed towards the med bay. "feet first into fucking hell" he said under his breath.
"Sir, spartan armor can be painted to the wearers liking, what would you like to be certain colors?" Delta asked.
"Black, with a midnight night blue high light" David said with a smile, thinking of Luna, but the smile quickly faded as he looked at Delta. "Can you send a Pelican on autopilot to go, to the Dawn, send a message into the ship, and retrieve both Sierra 117 and A.I. Cortana?"
"Sending one now" Delta replied. "now I need you out of your armor to start the procedure"
David did asked asked, taking the knife off of the armor and setting it to the side. "I hope your wrong about me needing to be a Spartan" David said as he looked out the window, gazing at Equis." Delta copied his movement.
"I hope so too sir, for the worlds sake." Delta thought, ~Because out of one thousand simulations, a threat worse then a rouge Spartan attacking happens nine hundred and ninety nine times.~
Deep in the badlands of Equestria, a mare sat in a cave, kicking the dirt, her long blue celestial hair flowing over her shoulders, her tail flicking side to side. "So, how much longer do we half to wait for them," Nightmare Moon asked in particular.
Her eyes opened showing they red and surrounded with green flame as a voice belonging to King Sombra spoke in her head. ~We'll, they're probably screwing so awhile~ a chuckle escaped Nightmares lips.
"So, the great and powerful trickster and the queen of the bugs needs helping killing one knight before they take revenge?"Nightmare asked.
"Hehahaha, sounds, chaotic, doesn't it?" Asked the Mitch-Matched owner of the voice, Discord.
"Plus, don't both of you want revenge against that lavender, pompous pony princess bitch and her friends?" Asked Chrysalis.
"We're listening" Nightmare answered, while Sombra licked his lips, figuratively.
"Lets just say" Chrysalis paused before turning into the king of Minotaurs "peace talks open up a lot of opportunities."
"So, Chrissy here is going to lure Twilight, who will represent Equestria for peace, and we attack, but doesn't she have guards?" Nightmare asked.
"She doesn't like being guarded, but her friends will probably be with her." Chrysalis responded.
"Great, have all the elements of harmony together, cause that'll work" Nightmare retorted.
~No shit~ Sombra thought.
" hahaha, but you see, they no longer are the elements of harmony. Thanks to chaotic seeds, I planted long ago, they had to give the tree of harmony the elements back." Discord said with a smile.
"Lets do this!" Sombra and Nightmare shouted in a sick, twisted, mix of their voices.
-in orbit-
As the remotely piloted pelican approached the Dawn, thrusters reversed and docked with it. "This is UNSC A.I. Delta calling A.I. Cortana, I repeat, come in Cortana" Delta said through a radio transmission, having completed David's augmentation, then turned his attention to contacting Chief and Cortana. "I repeat, this is A.I. Delta, calling A.I. Cortana." Delta then got no response. Checking for crew, or A.I.
"So, just a recording." Sending a signal, Delta started a self destruct on what remained of the Dawn.
Waking and sitting up, scars ran up and down David's body from the procedure. But thanks to advancements, was already healed. Standing David walked over to his black jump suit, then proceeded to put on the his armor. "Delta, eta on Chiefs arrival?" He asked while grabbing a DMR from a weapon locker, and placed it on his back, then placed a pistol on his hip, and strapped his knife to his chest.
"Chief was not on board, seeing the logical option, I ordered the ship to self destruct, to prevent it from falling to Equis and another nation getting UNSC technology, and pulled data from the recorder and am bringing it back on the pelican." Respond Delta.
"Good job delta, once the pelican is back, I will be taking it back to Equis, I want you to stay up here and continue to keep scanning the system." David said "and to start looking for when Chief left the dawn." David said before a blip came up on a screen, indicating a message from Celestia. "Princess?" David asked.
"I just got a message from the Minotaur king, asking for peace talks, I wanted to ask you if you would escort Twilight and her friends" Celestia started.
"No" David said abruptly "no civilians, but besides that, I'll be glade to escort Twilight." David said
"Okay, do you mind traveling by train?" Celestia asked.
"I don't think that's an option now" David stated "I'll explain when I get back."
Grabbing a few bubble shield grenades, David picked up his sniper rifle and walked to a drop pod "Delta, keep a satellite over Minotauria, keep me updated on military movements."
"Don't trust them" Delta asked.
"Call it a gut feeling" David replied and dropped down to Equis, leaving a trail in the night sky before he slammed into the ground just outside of Ponyville. Jumping out of the pod, David started to jog towards Twilights castle, arriving just as Twilight stepped out, causing the lavander alacorn to jump.
"Ahh! Minotaur!" She screamed causing David to give her a "seriously" look.
"You know, I might be as tall as a minotaur now, but I think I look a lot better then one." David said taking his helmet off you. "Princess Celestia wanted me to escort you for the time being, and she it's more of an order then request" David said slipping on his helmet.
"Um, uh, okay" twilight said blushing lightly from how she just acted. "So, um, shall we get going then?"
"Yes, lets get going, and tell your friend up there if she tries takeling me like she used to, it'll be like running into a brick wall." David said point to rainbow over his shoulder. Rainbow landed but blushed when, the guy she was the same height as yesterday, now towered over her.
"So, um, what happened to you?" Both girl asked as they started to walk with David as he kept looking around them. This did not go un-noticed by Twilight.
"Augmentation, to become a Spartan, Delta believed there was a threat to Equis and I agreed, bassicly I'm stronger, faster, and I can react to and think faster then most enemy's" David said.
"That is so awesome! Can I get it done too!?" Rainbow asked.
"No, you too old to get it done, both physically and mentally, the only reason I was able two is ODST soldiers where designed both mentally and physically to become a Spartan if need be." David said dryly.
"Well you don't look that much stronger!" Rainbow retorted, to which David responded by only picking up one of the large rocks that where scattered around town.
"You where saying?" Twilight said giving Rainbow a cocky grin, but both jumped when David dropped the rock back into place with a thud.
"And that's light to me." David said switching his sniper out for his DMR. "Lets keep going"
"So hey, I've got some weather duty to do, Twilight let me know when you get back so we can go get some cider at AJ's" rainbow said before she darted off.
"So how are we getting to Canterlot?" Twilight asked.
"Driving, there's a warthog hidden just outside of town." David said as they contenued to walk. One to the false house that acted as a garage, David and Twilight got into the jeep before David drove off.
Twilight looked at David out of the corner of her eyes, remembering how he saved her all thouse years ago ~there is only one reason Celestia would have just him defending me, so who is trying to kill me?~
Looking at the A.I. in his vizor, John paused, "We will get out. And I will get answers from Celestia"
-One Week Ago-
A blinding light came over the Forward onto Dawn, and both Cortana, and John 117 were teleported into a underground diamond walled prison. Appearing in the small dark room with a blinding flash of light, stood a women, with equine features and a flowing rainbow main grinning down at him. "you're under arrest for invading, you alien scum, and under my authority, Princess Celestia, i hear by sentience you to death." the women said, turning, her eyes flicked green as she vanished from the darkened crystal prison.
After about one week, a flash of green flame appeared and chief turned to see a female, with what appeared to be a black bug shell skin, but equine like body. "who are you!" Chief demanded.
Chuckling evilly, Chrysalis smiled as she bowed "My name, is Queen Chrysalis, and I am here to get you out, but you just need to do one thing, bring down Celestia, she has oppressed my people leading many to die of starvation" Chrysalis said as she looked over the thing before her. ~I dont know what this thing is, but its powerful~
Weighing his options, it appeared Celestia was bad, and needed to be stopped, nodding, Chief agreed. "Deal" he said dryly.
Chucking "talking ponies and bugs! WHERE DEAD AND THIS IS JUST HELL!" she yelled in a distorted voice, having floated through space for four years after three years of deployment would make an A.I. a little rampant. "I..I'm sorry, i dont know."
With a smile, Chrysalis teleported all three of them to the bad lands. "That direction is the minotaur homeland, Celestia's heir is going to be there, if you want Celestia, go after her heir." Chrysalis said, keeping the lie of the evil dictator Celestia, too fool the demon in front of her.
-Everfree Forest-
Quiet, too Quiet, no owls hooting, or bats screeching, no bugs chirping. Something was out there, something was hunting them. Looking to his left, David noticed Twilight had fallen asleep, and her arms, legs, would twitch slightly, her breathing became strained, she was having a nightmare, and a bad one. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Twilight happily walked down stairs just as spike answered the door, then -boom- in a cloud of fire and smoke, spike flew back and hit the far end of the library. then, in the middle of the room stood three minotaurs, she commanded her body to move, but it wouldn't, she was froze in place, she tried to scream "David " but her voice failed her. Grabbing her and pinning her, the minotaurs smiled as the stripped the princess, grinning as she now lay bare in front of them, exposed, and vulnerable.
A minotaur stood behind her, tears streaming down her face, pleading silently for them to end it as the minotaur lied himself up to her entrance. He smiled as he spoke in a wicked voice that would match that of the most evil of villains. "Your gonna suffer ~Princess~"
"TWILIGHT!" yelled a familiar voice, a safe voice, as a figure of light entered, and shattered her dreaming, bring the princess back to reality. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As her eyes shot open, she saw David had stopped the jeep, and was standing next to her, a concerned expression upon his face. "You okay there Twi?" he asked, calling her by her pet name that her friends called her, hoping it would calm her down. Sweat covered her body, the fur on her cheeks matted with tears. Not thinking, she lunged and wrapped her arms around David and started to sob.
"Really bad dream uh?" David asked as he patted Twilight's back as she held onto him for dear life. "your okay now, dont worry.:" Twilight's sobs started to end and she let go. "you gonna be okay? it looked really bad.
"I had a dream about the night you saved me, except, they..." she trailed off "but, i dont get it, Luna can sense bad dreams, really bad ones, why didn't she stop it." she asked looking down. "does it have something to do with Celestia wanting to see me, and you escorting me?" she asked looking up, seeing a cold expression on Davids face.
"I hope not, for your sake" he said as he walked around and got back in the Warthog and took off towards Canterlot Castle. Arriving withing a half hour of resuming the trip from Ponyville. Stepping into the throne room, David noticed Celestia and Luna talking back and forth, only noticing his and Twilight's entrances when she flew over to Celestia.
"Princess Celestia!" She said cheerfully! Turning with fake smiles, both Celestia and Luna froze as they saw David, both speechless. Celestia had memories of Spartans that fought alone side, and against her back when the humans came to Equestria Thirteen thousand years ago. Celestia smiled, knowing Twilight, and Equestria would be a lot safer with him like this, Luna could only on, her jaw laying on the floor, her wings spread out before she composed her self.
"You look good" she said blushing "very good" Luna finally spoke, almost like a school filly would when she spoke to her crush
David smiled, but it soon vanished as he sat his helmet on the ground. and whispered into Luna's ear "Is there a way that a pony could have a spell put on them that would prevent you from seeing a nightmare" he said glancing at Twilight, Luna catching his hint.
Whispering back, Luna swallowed her spit "only two ways a pony could have a nightmare without my knowledge, either it manifest itself into something beyond my power, or a pony who is long dead would curse a pony." she said in a low whisper.
Nodding, David stood upright and looked at Celestia. "so, what is all this about, there has to be a great concern for you to want me defending Twilight?" he asked looking at a scroll in her hands.
"The Minotaurs want to make peace, with Princess Twilight." She said looking over at her former student. "Saying it would be an honor to meet the newly crowned Princess and form a bond between the nations." Celestia took a deep breath. "I want you to tag along. Just as extra security." ~Because something doesn't sit right~ she thought to herself.
Spartan 117 Has Arrived, Sparkle Run For Your Life
~Chaos, sweet chaos~
"Princess Celestia isn't it a good thing that the Minotaurs want to make peace? And that they are seeing me as a Princess?" Twilight asked, noticing Celestia's worried expression.
"Ye..yes it is Twilight, but I'm troubled. You see it has been signed by the Minotaurian King.
“The one that David's squad found dead in that cave." she said. "but when a crew was sent to investigate, his grave had been dug up and he was not there." her face went sour. "though it may be the seal of his son, who too shares his name."
Looking to David, Celestia forced a smile upon her face "When you messaged me and told me trains would no longer suffice for transport, I thought you were being picky" Her smile faded. "But I also felt your energy, and how strong you had become." Closing her eyes her fist tightened onto the table. "I've met Spartans before, some protected us, some fought against us, and it was a Spartan that took the life of your brother all those years ago." As she spoke, green and black flame started to grow in her eyes.
David looked at her picking up his helmet and held it under his arm.
"Mother, you know you have no need to fear David, he has protected Equestria with his very life, and was on guard every day for the last five years, training our military and ensuring that our technology, and the technology of the world only advances at a natural pace." Luna said, looking like she was ready to fight her mother if she attacked David.
The flames died as a smile grew on Celestia's face "Fear not dear Luna, like Davids' energy, there is another on this planet, and I fear dark forces have gotten to it first."
Hearing this, David turned on foot and walked over to the highest ranking guard in the room, raising a hand in salute and started to talk with David, nodding occasionally and staying at attention. The guard saluted again as he ran off, his armor clanking down the stone hall as he went to follow his orders.
"Anyhow, David will be with you, ~the Royal Train Car will be fitted with extra shocks, the cargo car will be fitted with your weapons box and anything else you need, understand?~ You and Twilight will be the two on the train, sending her words telepathically to David who only looked at her and nodded in response.
"Don't worry Twilight, you will do fine. I’m sure of it, isn't that right David" Celestia asked looking at the Spartan that stood next to Twilight.
"If I need to, I'll die defending her Princess" David said without flinching, and he meant it too, ready to defend her and Equestria if need be. Luna looked down depressed, she never liked hearing him say that, but he told her once, he was a soldier, it was his duty to protect, and if he had to lay his life on the line, then so be it.
"Let us hope you don't need to defend her, that these peace talks are indeed true." Celestia said looking down looking up to the Spartan "It has been a very, very long time since I have seen a Spartan, I can sense the raw power you have. Both physically and mentally. Do what you can to keep Twilight safe, and do what you can to find out the truth behind this strange letter and immense energy like yours." David gave a quick nod. His helmet concealing his face, his worried expression “An energy like mine?”
-On the train-
"You don't trust this invitation of peace, do you David?" Twilight asked as she floated in the air using her wings.
"I think its suspicious considering what the Liberty detected in space." he said looking at her.
"Don't you find it at all suspicious Princess?"
Nodding the Twilight sighed as she tried to gain comfort "Yes, but there is not much we can do." she said stretching, pushing her bust more forward than intended, causing the Spartan in front of her to thank Celestia for his helmet.
She laid back on the couch "So you gonna show me that surprise Celestia allowed you to have?" Nodding, David led her to the cargo hold, which was at the very back, facing a ramp with a modified warthog. It had doors, which to his design and assistance could withstand the a punch from a Spartan. And it didn't have a gun but had an magic detecting shield. He basically infused another armor like his with bubble shield ability and with Twilights help, he converted a miniature radar detector, good up to one hundred meters away, into a magic blast detector.
David and Twilight finally got it after a few test blast failed, one of which sent David through a wall of Canterlot Castle, right into the main hall, during court, scaring all the citizens inside of the 9 foot black metal beast.
Celestia found the excuse to cancel court for the day to scold the two, but really she hugged and thanked them for saving her from the boring and rather stuck up nobles asking for her Twilights, and even Luna's hand in marriage, most nobles still didn't recognize David as Luna's special somepony. And finally delta, who happily returned to David's armor.
"How is this a surprise, I helped you build it?" Twilight asked looking at the Spartan.
"Look in the drivers seat." Twilight looked and saw a marine armor, tailored for her size with the help of Rarity, after she fainted, and argued that it need to be brighter, and not so heavy and bulky, but after David explained that the armor was meant to be dark, heavy and bulky to help protect its wearer from being seen and hurt. Twilight smiled as she hugged the Spartan.
"Thank you so much!" Smiling, David patted her shoulder
"Don't thank me, it was Tia's idea that you have body armor, and Rarity for tailoring it, I just supplied the supplies, and cut out the area for the wing holes." he said honestly.
Twilight instantly started to strip and David looked away blushing until he heard her say "done!" when he looked back, she smiled "so, how do I look"
"Like a marine" David said with a smile as he removed his helmet and placed it on top of the warthog, "want to know how to drive the Warthog?"
"That would be nice" she said smiling,
Opening the door, David helped her into the jeep before he took off his helmet and slid into the now covered passenger side, his legs and feet out of the jeep. "now, you see that little dial, right next to the steering wheel, that says start and off? when you start it, you then put it in either drive or reverse, you can let it idle, but that waist fuel. when you want to go, push the pedal on the right, when you want to stop, you push the pedal on the left. now see this switch over here, in the center, these are head lights, they have three settings, off, on and bright, you just flick them up or down, its best to have them on at night, and this one next to that one, is for the windshield wipers, you have this one when its raining. It has four settings, off, on, medium and high. That's your basic need to knows." He got out, closed the passenger door and walked over to her side then started buckling her in. "When you're in here, I want you in this, its a five point seat belt, the two belts on either side of the seat connect to each other and the belt between your legs" he said reaching between her legs, only for her to tighten her legs together and blush "oops" she said cutely, after she let go. David continued, visibly blushing since his helmet was resting on the warthog "Goes here, to make sure you're in properly, you have to tighten it snugly against your crotch and these straps, against your breast." he pulled tightly, making the belt press against her most sensitive and private region and the top strap push against her armor chest plate, pressing against her chest.. "Like that!" He said with a smug grin. Putting his helmet on David's eyes went wide as Delta started to speak.
"Sir there is a large energy signature headed this way, its equestrian." Delta said dryly. David quickly shut Twilights door just as the train car exploded into bust wood and splinters that did nothing but bounce off his armor and the Warthogs plating as it went airborne. Thinking fast David grabbed his service pistol, shooting the tire restraints and flipping the warthog mid air, and rode it down onto the ground. He heard the door open as Twilight jumped out onto the ground crying.
It was then that Twilight saw them, Nightmare Moon, who seemed to be a little off, her was laughing like distorted and sounded like King Sombra's and had purple flames around her feet, hands and eyes like him.
"I shall get my revenge Twilight Sparkle" a creepy mixed up voice said as they both talked through her body, then purple flames left Nightmare Moons body as Sombra stood next to her. Walking with not a care in the world was the Minitoarian King, who in a flash of green fire, turned into Chrysalis, Queen of the Changelings.
"Sir, I'm detecting high power levels from each of these hostels, if they were to attack, you could not keep all of them away from Twilight. I suggest you and her retreat immediately." Delta stated
"Yeah? Tell me something I don't know. " David said kneeling, the jeep to his left, Twilight to his back, his enemies to his front, he raised his DMR. waiting for them to make the first move. "Twilight, get into the jeep, and don't stop until you get to Canterlot." he demanded.
"This can't be happening, it can't be real" cried twilight, as one of her tear drops grew a face and turned into Discord "No, no no no no NO! Not you too, I thought we were friends, what will Fluttershy think, she'll be upset"
"She'll never find out my dear" with a flick of his wrist he turned into all of Twilights friends "boohoo she's dead, boohoo" he said mockingly "Too long have I been a statue, too long has Celestia had her boot on my neck, keeping me down, well no more" he finished before walking away looking back, right into David's visor "And you will never tell Celestia of the plot the four of us have to kill her, Luna, Cadence, Shining and well you get the idea…. don't you Demon?" He asked looking back at the three others. "Well, shall we get this over with? I've got some chaos to spread."
Nightmare Moon and Sombra disappeared, as did Discord, only one left was Chrysalis. "Well my friend, that is Celestia's pet human, betrayer of your entire species" David prepped for a fight as a UNSC ID signature showed up on his visor. He was stunned to see it, but shock nearly took over when he saw the legendary armor.
David snapped out of his trance as he turned around and grabbed Twilight putting her in the seat and Delta into the console "If you give a buck about me, you won't come back here! Delta, Canterlot, now!" with a nod, she peeled off, allowing David to turn to face the Spartan before him, Sierra-117, David quickly tightened his stance.
"Chief, his tags indicate he is UNSC Specialist David Smith, my records say is he was promoted to Sergeant before becoming KIA after a slip space malfunction and surprise attack from a Covenant Corvette. He is suppose to be a ODST, but he is an ODST, JUST A SPARTAN!" She yelled. "So, this is not the ODST that fought with me and helped escort me to the Autumn?" John asked Cortana as he pulled the hammer back on his assault rifle. . David seeing this and hearing them on the radio he put his sniper rifle up to his chest, his DMR was secured to his back, both where full on rounds and clips. Twilight was in transport to Canterlot, the conspirators have been found, now he just needed to survive this one enemy. He looked at John 117, a Spartan that he shed blood with, and fought along the side with, was about to fight him, an ODST that by all odds should have died multiple times, killed enemies that have slayed Spartans themselves, while he was not but an ODST. Now, he was a Spartan,
Standing in silence the two combatants stood on either side of the field, guns at the ready, both had steadied their breathing, the surrounding area was quite, strange how animals always new, they always could tell when something big was about to happen. The rolling of pebbles colliding against the mountain side triggered the battle.
In less then a blink of an eye both Spartans took off parallel to each other. Chief fired off his assault rifle as David fired off rounds from his sniper rifle. Each round missing each other by mere millimeters. Chief pulled out his pistol and fired off around, the bullet flying into and wedging itself with a round in sniper, rendering it un-useable. Noticing this David just threw his gun to ground and pulled out his DMR.
"John this Spartan shows a lot of the same skills with marksmen weapons as that ODST that you fought with on Reach and we fought with in New Mombasa." Cortana said looking into the memory banks. "And this Spartan is showing vitals of a Spartan II, though he could have only become a Spartan III. Interesting, he also has been able to keep up with you." Firing off more rounds with his assault rifle Chief started to charge, Which David only matched his moves, both assault rifle rounds and DMR rounds bouncing off of the others armor. "Interesting, its mark V armor, but, as resistant to small arms as your mark VI."
Both Spartans placed their guns on their backs and met fist to fist, their entire weight at a full sprint behind them, making a loud clash. then soon each went into kicking, blocking kicks, then returning with upper cuts that where met knocked to the side. Master Chief saw his opening and threw a punch hard into Davids helmet, knocking it clean off. However at the same time David saw and opening of his own, and kicked the Master Chief in the chest, sending the Spartan back a few feet, until a few grenades landed at his feet and blasted him back a short distance.
Skidding on his back, David flipped back onto his feet and skid to a stop as he threw down a bubble shield and protected himself from the blast. Drawing his side arm David ran forward right as the dust settled, and was greeted by a barrel of Chief's side arm in his face. The fight lasted less than thirty seconds, and now both Spartans where at a stand still. "Cortana, what are the chances that he would look exactly like David, have the same call tag on his armor, the same scar and also be a marksmen like him."
"Astronomical I'd imagine" she replied.
"Who are you, you have the training of an ODST, and you have been augmented and survived. Your armor is a Mark V, yet you are able to keep up with upgraded Mark VI and what you pulled another A.I. out of your helmet, yet you have been able to keep up with Chief." Cortana said.
"I am David Smith, human and former UNSC ODST, I am now, Spartan David-D342. Defender of Equestria." he said keeping his aim did on. "Your move John-117"
"Your no Spartan, for no Spartan would side with the destroyer of our people." He said raising his gun slightly, David coping his movements as the two stared each other down from the same height.
"You dont get it do you, its thirteen thousand years since you left. Celestia, humans made her and all of this world and left. after two centuries of genocidal conflict, both Covenant and humans where whipped from existence, but luckily the same malfunction that caused the slip space on Liberty to send me floating into the void of space after the ambush, sent them in the future, to here. This world was thriving of different races, and species, but then we wanted our home back, The captain of the Liberty ordered the enslavement and genocide of these anthropomorphic beings, we had became the Covenant, except half of us, who turned on our fellow humans. My brother, Jason Henderson, or, Private Henderson, was the first on this planet, he dropped in via ODST pod. befriended and fell involve with Celestia, upon his death at the hands of a Spartan, our race died, and we became not but myths on this world, Equis. She acted the way we did. And i will do what is necessary, including die" David said grabbing a clip looking right into the visor.
"He ha ha ha ha ha, well, i can arrange that." Said a voice that David recognized as Chrysalis's "Put down your weapon, including your grenades or she dies," she said making twilight appear in a flash of green fire
"DON'T DO IT, DON'T DO, LET THEM..... LET THEM KILL ME!" Twilight pleaded."SHE TURN...." a piece of cloth appeared around her head in her mouth as tears streamed down her face. There was magic nullifier on her horn. a shove from behind by Chrysalis showed that she had her hands tied behind her back, and on her legs tied around her ankles. with one step she started to step on Twilight's wings, making her hold in her screams of pain. twisting her boot into Twilight's wing she couldn't hold in her agony "AHHHH-AHHHHAAHHHHHHH!" she then pulled up her by the hair making her scream even more "AHHHHHH!" and licked her face before putting her a knife against her neck and drawing a small amount of blood.
Closing his eyes, David thought for second, shooting Chief would result in Twilight's death, because turning and shooting Chrysalis would send her backwards and ending in Twilight's death. "Chief, if I surrender under the condition that she is freed, will you honor that sacrifice, she can get Cortana to my A.I., and he can stop Cortana's rampancy."
"If you can stop her rampancy, then I will honor it." Chief said.
"I surrender, but first, remove that knife from my friends neck and step away from her." Chrysalis smiled as she removed the knife and threw twilight onto the ground before stabbing her wing, driving the knife into the ground. "Don't worry, you'll die, once the predators come out tonight". she said quietly, not thinking Twilight's mic could pic it up, letting both David and Chief hear.
"Chief?" Cortana asked the stoic looking Spartan as he heard Chrysalis's plan.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGG unh unh unh" David could hear her screams of pain and sobbing, making him want to stab Chrysalis, over and over and over. ~Da....David, she made herself look like you, like you where stabbed, i gotten the gaze to help and... I ....she put on the nullifier, her changelings jumped me and..."
Not lowering his gun from Davids face, Chief walked over and grabbed Davids helmet and handed it to him as he looked at the changeling queen "let him die like a warrior, with his armor on. Before he nudged him forward. David put on his helmet, his visor picking up 50 red objects in the trees. Cortana was already in his helmet, jumped in when Chief picked it up "Your armor is not too different form Johns." this made him jump, Chief would not put Cortana in his helmet if he was going to be executed.
"Don't talk, save your energy Twi..." he said then looked at Cortana on his screen as she then smiled as she went back to John and started to mark all of the Changelings with red as she looked at David, eyes full of tears, but sadness, not pain.
Chief keep his pistol on the back of Davids neck, as he removed Davids pistol and placed it on his left, taking his DMR from his back and put away his own pistol before holding the DMR with one hand and he reached around with his left hand and removed the ODST' Spartan's KBAR knife "get ready, on my signal, sprint towards Twilight." Chief said on a secure channel Cortana set up. then counted down "3.2.1.GO" as he chucked a high powered grenade deep into the jungle. David could see that he still had a single bubble shield left, as Chrysalis was watching the grenade fly over head, Master Chief seized this opportunity and threw Davids KBAR into Chrysalis's hand pinning her to a tree and fired off one round, breaking the tip of her horn and making her power-less moments before he made it to chrysalis and detonated the bubble shield, just as David put a shield up over Twilight. "Spartan catch!" Chief said on the radio. Throwing David his DMR. The grenade sent a shock wave pushing all of the Changelings out into field and send a good fireball through the forest. David did a one 180. And raised his DMR.
"Five seconds John" he said, the last he counted off targets and the number of rounds he has plus in his mags. The second the two glowing orbs that protected the Spartans died, David started to fire off round after round, using two bullets per target by putting two in the chest closely together causing a great deal of damage. David was counting off John's rounds "John two mags" he said throwing both with one hand and the Master Chief caught them right in the guns. Emptying another clip David grabbed his last DMR Mag and started making head shots, dropping the Changelings like buggers. "Empty"
"Yeah? Me too, i Just have about half a Clip in the assault rifle." he said walking over to the discarded sniper rifle and tossed it back to David who caught it and placed it on his back, using his knife he cut Twilight free who was looking pale. Grabbing the rope, David cut off a small section and tied it tightly around her stabbed wing. before he opened her armor and retreated Delta, then closed her armor back up and picked her up, She put her arms around his neck and looked up at him
"Okay Delta, Wheres the Warthog" David ordered
"Hello sir, the warthog is one click to the east, might i suggest calling a pelican" Delta asked
"Yes, do that, is the Wathog in a clearing?" David asked
"It is sir, shall i send a message to Celestia telling Twilight's condition?"
"Yes, tell her I'm taking Twilight to the Liberty for medical treatment and that Sierra 117 is an alley. Also add that Chrysalis has been captured, not to trust Discord, and that Nightmare Moon and King Sombra have fused." seeing the Pelican land nearby David watched as Chief lead Chrysalis into the pelican and fastened her in before he jumped out and walked up to the front to refill his ammo from is weapon cache. David carried Twilight up to the cockpit before he wrapped a bandage around her neck and used bio-foam in her wing. Walking to the back Chief handed David two clips. "You get the stick" Looking up David saw Luna about 50 yards away "Chief prep for take off, I'm going to go meet Luna, here, plug Delta into the pelican, he'll be your co pilot"
"Who is Luna?" Cortana asked
"His wife" Delta pipped up.
"Why would she be here" Cortana
"She wouldn't. SPARTAN ITS A TRAP!" Chief yelled just as Luna stabbed David in the gut fine edged diamond knife, then she turned into nightmare moon, cackled and disappeared as Chief started to shoot at her. With a mist of red on his helmet, David chuckled as he started to fall backwards with Chief catching him in mid fall, "Stay with me Spartan." he yelled yanking off Davids helmet.
"Spartans dont die, Chief. Demons cant die." he replied as he blacked out.
Hmm. I see, his file has quite a bit of black ink and he has rating of hyper lethal. That rating has only been given to you and one other."Cortana said "I'm surprised he was able to keep up with you, do you want to know how close those rounds where to hitting you during the battle? Millimeters, Hmm i think he missed you on purpose, before his augmentation, he was able to shoot Elites in the eye hole from over a mile out, without out wasting a shot. "Cortana said at the spartan standing next to her, as they watched the David who was currently naked from the chest up while the medical equipment was running at a fast speed by Delta, not missing a beat. "Apparently his armor was modified to hold a A.I. Just hours before he dropped to Reach on your escort, i cant help but wonder if you had fallen, he was to take that half of me to the Autumn, in your place."
"Back up plain, i guess. How are you doing Cortana?" Chief asked the A.I. standing next to him, as tall as a human.
"I'm alright now that I'm not going insane, amazed he was able to set it up so Delta could walk freely next to him, but I'm curious as to who Delta is modified after, he only seems to think logically, but, he is in Mark V armor. There seems to be no information on him, or any spartan that had an A.I. modeled after them."
"Hello John-117, Cortana. I came out here to inform you that David-D342 will make a full recovery. Tell me, while you where working for Chrysalis did she say any kind of plains to attack Equestria?" Delta asked trying to get information to warn Celestia with.
"Unfortunately no, but with her actions against one of the Princesses, i believe there will be an attack, and soon." Chief said.
"I cannot help but wonder how Chrysalis captured Twilight. She said something about "Looking like David injured. Do Changelings posses the ability to change form?" Cortana asked Delta
"They posses the ability to look like somepony you love. Which reminds me, Cortana, here is a crash coarse in this worlds language." Delta said handing Cortana a digital folder.
"Interesting, their language is not that different from our own yet having been speaking English for over thirteen thousand years it hasn't changed." Cortana said looking through the files "Wait, David is married to Princess Luna, wouldn't that make him a Prince?"
"Usually, yes, however, most of the nobles of this nation have voted and made it so that he isn't. They where afraid that he would make rules to control them, nor do they recognize his marriage to Luna. Like an ODST he stays in the shadows and most of the time, operates outside of Celesta's rule against her wishes. As he did during a raid on a rebel group a year ago."
"Delta, what can you tell me about this village? The residents seem to have an extreme distaste for the Equestrian leadership." David said looking at the busted statues of Celestia, Luna, and Twilight. "They seem to not like any of Equestria's Princesses. Even so far as to put up Posters of white, blue, pink and lavender Alicorns covered with red x's." The ODST said watching them under a fake shrubbery as covering near some bushes.
"There seems to be a gathering, wait, they are breaking another Luna statue. hmm, this entire town just seems to be a training camp. I don't see any mares or children." ~Which means i can use lethal force without worrying about harming a filly or colt.~ David thought for a moment "How well known is Celestia's Demon?" he asked with a grin on his face. He had four grenades, four bricks of C.4, four clips per gun.
"Very well known, even around the entire planet. So much so that any hostile nation leader fears being out at night" Delta replied "But if you are planning a night raid, i must advise against it, Celestia has ordered you to not use lethal force and to capture the rebel leader alive."
"And i will Delta, however, i cannot do so without taking out the hostiles that defend him. Now, we just wait for night to roll around and I'll make my move." he said placing a camera on a try pod and pointed it towards the village. Then plugged it into his helmet "Delta wake me when the sun has set or there is movement."
"Yes sir" Delta replied watching the village with an unblinking eye. Once night had fallen, and the moon had risen. Delta woke up David by beeping in helmet. "Sir, no movement detected and the sun has set."
"Alright, lets get going." David said grabbing his modified DMR that had a suppressor and placed his sniper on his back. "Celestia's Demon is on the hunt." he said sliding down the hill side. It didn't take him long to get to the village, easily shooting and knifing his way into the village without alerting a single guard. Getting to the center he quickly executed the rebel leader in his sleep by slitting is throat, to send a message. Right a message on a piece of wood he hung both the rebel and the message to a tree, the message was simple "surrender or die" and he signed it, "the Demon." It worked, very well, Celestia of course was not happy at what David did, but had to admit the tactics where effective, even as brutal as they where.
"You know words work just as well" she told him, causing the ODST to chuckle
"Sometimes words fall on deaf ears, and only way to meet, and end a violent threat, is with violence of your own, fear of death is an effective tool." David told her.
"You could say that Spartan David has quite a bit of influence on Celestia, and she even ignores his violent tactics, as long as he keeps her people safe. He has even executed a prisoner of war, due to his crime against Princess Twilight over there. He is often assigned to her, and she has grown quite fond of David. Princess Twilight refuses to be escorted by any guard, except David. It seems that she loves having him around. Back during the Minotaur invasion, David killed multiple Minotaurians that had sneaked into, and attempted to rape Twilight and assassinate Twilight. David showed no sympathy to them, he killed them all, including one of the Minotaurian top generals, after a short fight to where David had shot and put the general into a kneeling position, he reveled to it that he was not a pony, but a human. smiling as he shot the bull man right in the head. Celestia had learned of this when Twilight was debriefed by Celestia and David himself confirmed it. Celestia did nothing to punish him for the execution of the prisoner, for his crime was too gruesome to let him face trial. David even went up against two squads of Elites that where discovered by the Minotaurs during the Siege on Appleousa in which David lead a raid to rescue what survivors where left. He then destroyed the town to kill then Minotaurs encamped there, and shortly after he killed the Elites, the last of which he fought fist to fist, killing it with a plasma grenade that he punched into its mouth right after it stabbed him in the gut with a plasma sword. However, luck would have it that both blades missed any of his vital organs." Delta told them. "If you would excuse me i need to go debrief Twilight on how she was captured. The armory has a new armor variant that you will me compatible with, its a stronger and lighter Armor variant, but looks exactly like your current variant." Delta finished as he diapered and the curtains to the med bay shut instantly.
Looking up at Delta, Twilight whipped her red eyes of tears. "HI Delta, is David going to be okay?" she asked sitting next to her savior.
"Yes, i promise, but twilight, I need to know how you where captured, it is vital information that we need to use as evidence against Chrysalis." Delta said sitting in a holographic chair in-front of her.
"Well, you know when i pulled you out after i heard that explosion. I turned the Warthog around and started to drive back..."
"David...." Twilight whispered as she pulled the A.I. from the console of the Warthog and did a one eighty before she started driving back, stopping hard when in a clearing, she saw David, laying against a tree, his face and gut where bleeding heavily. "NO! she screamed as she jumped out and grabbed the first aid kit."
~She loves him. Her love for him may taste good, but I'll feed latter, first we must kill that demon.~ Chrysalis thought as she gasped "Twilight, help" she said in Davids voice. Shoving Delta into her chest pocket Twilight started to bandage up the imposter David, that was until a magic nullifies was placed on her horn, and a group of changelings appeared, and tied up her limps.
"No get away!" she yelled before Chrysalis transformed and smiled. "David will not surrender for me, you cant win against him"
Chrysalis smiled "Oh, but he will, his love for you is too great for him not to give his life for yours" Chrysalis said and transported her and Twilight to the battle field, Where she held twilight ransom for David to surrender.
"And that's it." Twilight said, then heard a groan as David sat up and touched his side. "Hey your awake!" Twilight said hugging David. "How your feeling?"
"Like shit" David replied giving Twilight a grin "but I've had worse" he said giving her a hug. Standing up David walked over to his jump suit and put it on, not caring that he was naked in-front of Twilight, making her blush as the Spartan was now in all black, like normal "Delta, prep my armor." David said right as alarms started going off. "Delta report, whats going on."
"Sir, the Changelings, Minotaurs and Griffins, their attacking" Twilight's eyes went wide hearing the news.
"Delta prep my pod for a combat drop. " David said putting his armor on as he walked up to the bridge. "Where are the greater number of forces and what is the situation In Ponyville?" David asked as he stepped into the command deck.
"The largest number of enemy forces are just outside of Canterlot. The royal family is in the bunker, enemy forces are stuck at the castle gates. Any citizen that has survived made it into the castle. Ponyville also is under siege, and is the only city of its size under attack. Ponyville's invasion force is being led by Discord, The Crystal Empire by Sombra, and Canterlot Nightmare Moon." Delta replied as the ship started to fly into the atmosphere.
"Chief stay here and protect Twilight, Delta, your coming with me. i will drop outside of Ponyville. Once i ensure the safety of the VIP's in Ponyville, bring a Pelican down. Twilight do not leave this ship." David said as he grabbed his modified DMR, suppressed SMG and a pistol with four mags per gun.
"But i can help, please let me...." Twilight pleaded before David cut her off by gently placing a finger over her lips.
"No, its obvious that you are a target, and i wont let you go into harms way, besides i need you to stay here tell Chief about Nightmare Moon and her history." David said. "Besides i can handle it, I'm a spartan."
"Sir, we are hovering over your jump zone" Delta updated David as he put on his helmet "Sir i have bad news about the enemies outside of Ponyville." Delta said as David looked at him. "They have the other Elements Sir." Twilight's eyes went blank before they went black with green flame. David yanked out Delta before he grabbed her arm and was instantly teleported with her to the raging battle outside of Ponyville.
As a flash of light left the eyes of the Changelings, Minotaurs and Griffins. Fear filled them when they saw what they knew as The Demon. Standing behind them was Discord who ordered a volley of rounds fired at the Spartan and the Princess. As cannons and musket fire filled the air, smoke obstructed the view of the Spartan and Twilight, making her friends cry out in worry. As it cleared, Twilight was in a bubble shield but a eery thudding sound grew closer and closer to the invading military. Without a sound Griffin, Minotaur and Changeling started to fall. Placing his DMR on his back, since it was out of rounds David emerged from the smoke as he continued his walk towards them. His armor not even scratched. With a chuckle he turned on his active camouflage and diapered, making the enemy start to panic. One by one, Discords generals started to fall, the first was a Griffon, without warning his neck was snapped. The second a Changeling that got knife through the neck. The last of the generals was a Minotaur curled up in a ball crying out for his mother, David left this one alone since this caused the rest of Discord's men in a panic and fear any sound. Discord himself was panicked and David was going to use that fear.
"Discord Discord, what is the matter Discord, i thought you liked Chaos?" David taunted "Discord Discord, death is coming for you, Discord" with a snap of his tail, the mismatched creature diapered. David took this opportunity and gave out a warning "Lay down your arms and you all will live, keep fighting and you will die." The spartan said turning off his active camouflage. Hearing a screech David turned and caught a Griffin that charged him pulled out his gun and executed him on the spot. Seeing this all the Minotaurs laid down their guns down as did the Changelings and the remaining Griffins. "Now, free your captives." They did as commanded and then where swiftly bound and restrained by the remaining Royal Guards who where pinned down just inside Ponyville. "Chief, have Cortana remote control that pelican down here." David turned to twilight, and as softly as he could, smacked her. "What the FUCK was that?! i told you to stay on the liberty, what would have happened if i hadn't have grabbed you?!" he yelled.
"I would have died" Twilight said rubbing her cheek tears starting to form.
"That's right" He quickly gave her a hug "Don't do that again. Now once we get to the liberty, stay there, that goes for your friends."
"Hey who do you think you are hitting Twilight, let alone commanding her!? Shes a Princess bud!" Applejack said as she tried to kick David. To which David didn't move and Applejack only succeeded in breaking her leg.
David sighed "These mares will be the death of me." he said as he picked up AJ and walked towards the landing pelican. "Twilight, help stabilize her legs, once on board the liberty we'll get it mended. Dash come up to the front, i got something to show you." he said closing the rear door and cockpit door. "Ready to see something really fast?" he said taking air and getting altitude.
"Nothing is as fast as i am." Rainbow Dash said boasting herself. "I the fastest mare in all of Equestria!"
Looking into a screen he saw everyone was buckled. With a smile on his face. he gunned it, escaping the planets pull quickly. This left the rainbow haired mare with a dropped jaw and David laughing. Getting on an speaker he told the girls in the back "and if you look out the rear widow you will see Equis." David said. opening the door to the cockpit. "Go check it out speedy" He said to dash who had an awestruck look on her face.
The girls where amazed, but David had only one thing on his mind, get back down there, and finishing this fight.

A few beings where talking in there native language when Discord appeared "Do you have use of us now, creature?" one asked.
Are you certain David." Celestia said over a communications video "the fact that Discord escaped is disheartening, however the fact that the enemy knows of your power is of great use to us. Nightmare Moon's forces ended their assault not but an hour ago, and are holding at our gate." Celestia said "But the fact remains, why would discord go after the elements? I fear dark work is at hand." Celestia said as she rubbed her chin.
"Yeah, even during this chaotic attack against Equestria, something feels off. Like the calm before the storm." David added and looked back at Twilight and her friends, aside from Fluttershy who was in the med bay with Applejack. "Good news is the ViP's and Twilight are both safe, and for the most part, good health."
"What does that mean?" Celestia asked.
"Lets just say that AJ has learned that unlike a tree, im something she shouldn't kick" David replied getting a small chuckle out of a couple of the mares.
"Well that is good news." Celestia said and sighed before she straightened her posture "there will be a time to mourn for those lost, but now is not it. If you feel this isn't over, then it most likely isn't. Track down Discord, find who he is working with, and kill them." this caused all the ponies to freeze.
"Yes Princess, it will be done." David said and saluted before the the monitor before it snapped off. holding his helmet in his hands David turned to the ponies who looked frightened, having never heard Celestia speak so darkly. "There are some things i should probably talk to you girls about, follow me to the med bay, A.J. and Flutters need to hear this too." Leading the girls to Applejack and Fluttershy, David stood as the girls sat on free beds or chairs. "Where to began..." David said rubbing his temples.
"I think your escort with me that was an ambush" Twilight said looking over at David. With a nod, David agreed.
"Celestia had ordered me to keep you five in the dark, only Twilight knows about this, But Discord, Sombra, Nightmare Moon and Chrysalis all had joined forces in this assault against Equestria. You have all be made targets." David said looking over the elements."Now, after the ambush, the other human you met, the Master Chief, and i got into a battle, only learning that he was tricked, quickly turned and joined forces. And after Delta showed him footage from the Equis Human war way back, has joined our side. For the same reason i did." David said "but back to what happened in Ponyville. You see, what i did on the battlefield was to scare the enemy into submission, i did this for two reasons. One, was to end the fight faster with minimal blood shed. Two, was revenge, for Discord not only taunting, but threatening to kill twilight back when she had received an invitation for peace talks with Minotauria that ended up being a trap.." David said taking a breath.
"Well shoot, I'd be lying if i said you didn't scare me back there, but sure as sugar am i glade your on our side" Applejack said with a smile "just dont go slapp'n Twi again, hear me bud?"
"Come now darling, look at your leg, i think you'd hurt yourself before you but a scratch on him." Rarity said.
"Yeah he is pretty cool like this and all but only twenty percent as cool as me." rainbow added in.
Fluttershy just eeped as she hid behind Rainbow Dash.
Pinkie went off on some long tangent about left for dead and said something about David being able to take on a hoard of something called "tanks" but David usually just tuned Pinkie out when she went off on a random moment.
"Thanks girls, that means a lot to hear that." David said walking over to the window to gaze down at Equestria. "Where are you?" his eyes widened as he turned and started walking towards the prisoner hold. Walking into the prison hold he glared at his guest.
"So you want to know where discord is no?" Chrysalis said as she smiled at David. "seeing that your still alive and that the elements are with you, and doing well, the battle is in your favor." she said.
"Enough, tell me where discord is." David said glaring at the changing queen as he walked into her cell. "and you may not face execution"
"Give me some of that love of yours and i might talk" she said wiggling her hips "or you can use me as much as you want, and I'll tell you everything."
David got pissed and slapped her hard before garbing her neck and pinning her to the wall and held a blade to her neck just above his hand. "how about this, you dont tell me what i want to know, I'll blow up your little changeling village, think of all those poor, little bug babies, burning in a fire, screaming in agony, and you'd hear ever second of it, wouldn't you, bug." this seemed to rattle chrysalis a little. "now, tell me what i want to know, your children get spared, and I'll spare your life." he said. "oh, and mind games dont work on an ODST, let alone a spartan, so drop your little act"
"He is with creatures not of this world, jaws split and covered in armor. Swords of light and speak of a demon who is described like you." she says "now let me go and please leave my children be". no longer wishing to play games Chrysalis looked down.
"You know, physical love doesn't compare to emotional love, even if it lasted for a million years it wouldn't be a day of true love." David said before he let go of her neck. "Twilight, warn Celestia tell her to have the citizens of Canterlot ready to evacuate to the catacombs." Getting on his radio as he walked out of the prisoner hold he placed on his helmet "Delta, prep a pod with my weapons, and one for Chief."
"Whats going on?" John asked as he grabbed his assault rifle and pistol.
"We have a problem. Discord has elites." David replied. as he neared the command deck "and I got information on the location of Discord." he said stepping into the command deck. "Lets finish this" he said walking over to pull Delta out of his terminal. Just as he did alarms starting blaring.
"Sir I'm getting a slips space rupture." Cortana notified the two.
"Covenant?"
"Signal matches that of a flood ship." Cortana replied. Upon hearing the information Chief and David both froze.
"Cortana, Location now!" Chief ordered. David pushed delta back into his command terminal.
"Delta, prep main weapons and secondary weapons. " David ordered as he looked at a screen. "Prep all weapons to for stand by status."
"Chief i found its location." David looked at the monitor as did John as Cortana pointed it out. "Its here, stationary, and underground"
Recognizing the location, David realized that it wasn't far from appaloosa "Cortana, check the slip space signal again." Doing as asked it came back as a covenant signal, causing David and Chief to let out a breath they didn't know they were holding. "That was a little chaotic" David said under his breath before he face palmed "Discord playing his games." He said before donning his helmet and at Delta. "Delta, prep drop pods, i want to land right at the caves front door" David looked at chief "Prep stand by A.I., Master Chief, your with me."
"Yes sir." David said as he grabbed Cortana and a blue a.i appeared. "Church, Your in command"
"Who is this A.I.?" Cortana asked using Chiefs radio "he isn't in any ONI or UNSC file."
"That is because he is an a.i. modeled after an A.I. that was key in taking down project freelancer. So you wouldn't find any files on him. I only learned of Church, i had Delta create him to help command the liberty." David responded as he placed a gun on his hip. Stepping into the pods, David looked over to twilight "no mater what, stay here" With that the door slammed shut on the pod, before a door closed around it and it started to fall to earth. Closely followed by master chiefs pod.
"Sir, movement outside of target landing, hostile forces confirmed to be Covenant." Delta said through the radio.
"So the fun begins again" Cortana said.
"I'll take point" Chief said as his pod slammed into the ground and the door exploded off, taking out a Elite warrior class. Looking up through his visor, David saw 50 red outlines of Elites through the dust before his visor range ran out, most matched low warrior classed elites.
Fighting trough the endless hordes of elites, David and john both had used up almost all their ammutition for their respective main weapons thus making them have to resort to hand to hand combat and taking enemy weaponry. David drew his knife and threw it right at Chief who ducked and saw purple blood cover his visor. grabbing the knife, he threw it back and David caught it so he could stab and elite in the neck. "Chief, this feels way to easy" David thought aloud before he took the elites plasma rifle and shot an elite that just entered the corridor. Pulling out his pistol david ran to the end of the hall and put his gun in the jaw of another elite, but quickly put his foot on its chest and pushed off, his armor getting grazed by a energy sword. "About time one of you slit jawed ugly mother fuckers give me an actual challange."
"Spartan back off, that is a Zealot class" Chief ordered but David quickly charged the elite, dogging sword strikes and punches. Firing off three rounds close range from his pistol, David spun around to elites back and stabbed him in the neck, killing the Zealot elite.
"Well, not much of a challange still." David said removing his clip and counting the rounds before replacing it. "And remember Chief, I've killed Zealot elites before I became a Spartan and don't forget, I kinda out rank you." David said giving Chief a cocky grin that was unfortunatly hidden. Shortly afterwards they arrived at the Corvette's command deck. Finding the last elite, it pressed a button on the control panel.
"Ten minutes until self destruction" a voice came over the ships P.A. system.
"You got to be fucking kidding" David said as he fired off two rounds, hitting the elite in both eyes before rushing him and snapping its neck in one swift movement. Grabbing his DMR, which had one clip left, he secured his sniper secured to his back and pistole to his hip. "If this thing goes, it will take out half of Equestria." David said punching the dead elite into a where it made a nice dent into the the wall.
"Cortana, hack the ship and see if you cant stop it" Chief ordered his a.i. companion. Doing as she was told the a.i. started to work.
"Five minutes till self destrct." the voice announced Cortana's failure.
"Shit" all three said at the same time.
"We do have one option, we got to set the slipspace into overdrive, it'll take the ship with it." Chief said looking at David. "But we dont have a detonator"
"So in short, one of us wont make it out of here" David said shortly.
Chief handed David his dog tags. "I'll do it, you have family and friends that love you. So here." He went to remove Cortana's A.I. chip. "Don't you dare think I'm not going with you on this one." Cortana said, making Chief freeze. "I wont let you do this alone, I don't know what I'm experiencing, but I won't let you do this alone"
Chief nodded and David turned to head back to the service. "Love, that's what you feel Cortana." He said and grabbed Chief's hand, taking the dog tags "Thank you Chief, you've been one hell of a battle buddy." He said and started to walk out, tears starting to form, thanking Celestia for his helmet "see you in Valhalla" with that he took off.
"Hey John, can over load it from here." Stepping out in front of John she touched his chest and her other on the console "once David is clear, i'll overload it" Chief nodded "I'll need your to press that button over there, I can only override this one." Chief nodded and walked the few feet to the opposite panel. "Chief, he is clear, 3,2,1" on that count the slip space started to go into overdrive.
"To Valhalla" Chief said as he took off his helmet. Cortana walked over to him and layed her head on his chest as the ship dissapered into nothingness. Opening his eyes, Chief was laying in a field in his armor. Cortana next to him.
"Well look who finally showed up" a large figure said as it leaned down to him John up "hey Kelly, look who it is"
"So long, sierra 117" David said as he looked back at the now empty void in the ground that was behind him.
"Sir, I hate to inform you but a mayday is coming in from Canterlot, the discord, Sombra and Chrysalis are all attacking, Celestia and Luna are doing what they can to fend the three off."
David smiled. "Well Delta put yourself in a Pelican and come get me."
"So, that is what we are dealing with then?" David asked as he restocked his ammo and placed a jetpack on his back "and you say that Celestia, Luna and the others are being held in the throne room?" said as he walked over to the air lock.
"That is correct sir, and we have received ransom, all of Equestria and you for the hostages." Delta said to which David Chuckled
"Well, they don't want much.Delta, your with me, Church" David said looking over at the now human sized blue A.I. standing in the command deck "stay here in orbit, and perhaps get the girls something to eat in the mess hall, the automative service will do the preparation, veggie diet only"
"Well, how about you go fuck your self" Church said
"Church..." David said giving him a look "remember I can still program Caboose"
"Veggie lunch, right away"
A pair of lavander arms quickly surround the Spartan "please save Celestia and my family" she said with tears swelling up in her eyes" looking back David gave a reassuring smile as he put on his helmet.
"Don't worry, they'll be safe" letting go of the spartan Twilight went back to her friends. he looked over at Fluttershy "I'm sorry" he said right before the air lock slammed shut and the door that touched space opened, sending the Spartan out into space and into free fall, aiming right for Canterlot. Spinning to his feet David turned on his jet pack burning all its fuel before he detached from in and broke through the ceiling of the throne room, doing a hero landing directly in the middle of a group of changlings. Standing up David from the smoke, steam still burning the moisture in the air from his free fall through the atmosphere.
"So demon, its about time you got here" Discord said with a smile on his face.
"Well i'll be damned, that's one hell of an entrance" - a red a.i. said in a rough voice. "Simmons why cant you be more like David?"
"i agree sir, but i bet you could do better, unlike Griff, who would just find a place to go and lie down." a maroon a.i. said as a orange a.i. flipped off the maroon a.i. "And David stood up to Master Chief one on one. not even the entire covenant military could do that sarge."
"Good point" the Sarge replied
"you know what Simmons, fuck you" Griff said before turning to a tan a.i. "What do you think Lopez?"

"Alpha a.i. authorization, turn off blood gulch simulation - red vs. blue" Church said as he pulled up a screen and watched the battle from the Davids visor, the other a.i. vanished. "at least those girls are being quite" he said looking over to view coming in through a monitor that Twilight pulled up.
"So, you wanted Equestria... and you wanted me." David said as he walked out of the dust. "And now, you have me" David said as he started walking "now listen all of you". he loudly announced as he looked around "drop your weapons now, and you will be spared, continue on this course of action, you will die". He warned, as he finished talking however, Sombra rushed the spartan only to be punched in the gut then kicked across the room, making the once former dark king die on contact and slump over un-ceremoniously.
"Well well well, it seems the demon is more of a devil, wouldn't you think, Celestia." Discord said in a hissing tone, seeing the spartan before you, all she could see was the spartan that killed her lover, all those centuries ago.
Blinking the thought away Celestia hissed "yes, and he is one you should fear, for he is here to send you back to the deepest pit of Tartarus." She said capping off her sentence with a grin that made Discord feel a chill "because no matter what happens, no matter what you do, today, here and now, he will kill you" This brought a look of shock and fear by her ponies being held hostage with her, having never heard their beloved princess talking with such hate on her lips.
"So be it" Discord raised his hand to snap his fingers, but they vanished in an explosion off blood. With his finger tips gone, Discord looked at the Spartan, seeing only one shell fly from the Spartans gun. before he could react, he saw a second shell flying, and a pain in his other hand. After one more round both of his horns exploded into powder where they where shot off. "AHHHHHGNNN" Discord growled he fell to his knees, looking up at the Spartan who was walking towards him. stopping when he was right in front of him. "What the hell are you"
"I am Spartan. Delta 343" he said before raising his gun to Discords face. "And I" Pulling the trigger, there was a click. Discord was shaking, looking up he saw the Spartan looking down on him. able to see the glare he knew was on the Spartans face "will not decide your fate, that will be for the Equestrian people to decide." he said walking over and freeing Celestia and Luna. the Spartan then freed Captain Shinning Armor who quickly ordered the guards to arrest Nightmare Moon, who simply just put her hands up and Discord.
After a few months, Discord was encased into stone and Nightmare Moon placed into a crystal prison and Chrysalis was imprisoned in a cell under Canterlot. Celestia was overseeing all the repairs over the world, Cadance was helping repair the Crystal Empire.
David was overseeing training of new Pony ODST soldiers, taking five on at once, all in combat armor. David quickly threw them all on their ass. "Come on, all you have to do, is smack a sticker right here on my visor" he said trying to get the class into attacking him "This is to test your combat ingenuity, one of you can do this." before he could blink, a lavender aura surrounding a sticker appeared on his visor "Squad leaders, run a drill, getting armored up and equip" he said turning to Twilight "Princess". he said with a bow.
"Commander" she said with a light bow "i need an escort for a mission. its out in the mountains" she said handing the spartan a peace of paper "everyone we have sent in has not returned." she said then smiled "up for another adventure?"
Deep within the mountains of Equestria, a lone creature with a hunters lust slowly stirred. Looking up, the monster hissed, the sunlight blinding his vision. Where was Washington? The A.I. Delta? Slowly it stood, slowly, it slipped from view, hidden by the snow as it traveled deep into the frozen land. His only drive, the voice of Gamma. its influence, kill all freelancers, collect their A.I., become the Meta. --
"So, this cutie map thing alerts you to where you need to go?" David asked as he looked down at Twilight.
"What do you need me for?"
"Well, it seems that the map wants all six of us... " Twilight started
"Which usually means there is some kind of bad guy that only you can fight, and that he has a past with humanity, possibility sent into the future by some kind of blast and...." Pinkie started in.
The pink one, she never makes sense.
"and we may need some security. "Twilight said as she looked through some scrolls. "And your the best qualified to lead us safely there" she said. "plus this is kind of more of an order" she said blushing before her wings stiffened and her ears folded back "sorry."
"Not a problem, I'm used to taking orders by now." He said looking at Twilight as he stood next to her "Delta" he said looking at the green a.i. "how modified is my suit?"
"Well sir, you have the ability of invisibility." the A.i. responded.
"Alright then, Princess, lead the way." David said walking out of the castle after Twilight.
After a short train ride the lone spartan easily walked through the harsh environment, protected by his suit "princess, i need to speak with you."
"What is it David?" Twilight asked the Spartan next to her.
"We need to stop for the night, the other ponies are getting tired and we've been moving for 6 hours" David said "Plus, you haven't slept since you before you got me from Canterlot" he said looking at her.
"Well, that wasn't that long ago" Twilight said.
"That was over 18 hours ago. I'm trained and enhanced to be awake for days, your not" he said looking at her stopping her by getting in front of her. "I can always get Celestia to back me up on this." David said looking down at her. "plus, it is almost night fall, we cant risk falling down the mountain side."
"Fine you win" Twilight conceded "how about over in that forested area?" She asked pointing to a small patch off woodlands.
After a quick once over the Spartan nodded. "it'll do." He said walking off to set a up a paramator. Night fell quickly. And as snow started to fall, David walked back into camp, making a few of the girls jump as his invisibility turned off.

Walking into Twilight's tent, David held up a map and walked over to Twilight "I had A.I church send me images of the area you described. the Liberty cameras seem to have found a small settlement." he said handing her a small device "I've got a plain, place this in your ear, I'll be able to hear everything you hear, i plain on hiding up on a ridge to see how things work." he said looking around. "that way we don't scare whoever or whatever caused your summons"
"Good idea captain." she said placing the small ear peace in her ear.
"I am heading out here soon, i will use the cover of night to get into position." David said.
"Please be careful" twilight said looking over to the spartan as he walked to leave the cave.
"The only thing that can match me is another spartan, and i doubt I'll meet another one of those."
"So, you take power from ponies too?" Starlight glimmer asked as she stopped reading the mind of the monster "Celestia's pet has one of those A thingys your after." she said smiling at her.
"Hsssssssshck" it responded.
" I'll make you a deal, I'll let you go, if you hunt down and kill Celestia's "Demon", I'll let you live." She said with a smile. To this the creature nodded in agreement "You stick with me, and help me bring the royal family to an end, and I'll show you where their demon calls home." she said smiling as the creature started walking away "where all of those "A.I" are."
Stopping the creature looked over at a small A.I. that appeared before nodding. "We will help" gamma said looking at his host "wont we, Agent Maine."
As the Spartan walked through the deep snow he continued to look around. his active camouflage running as the cold wind did nothing against his armor. Looking at the miniature map hologram he had he saw that the unknown village was directly below him "This doesn't feel right, not at all" The spartan said "no rampaging monsters, no crazed ponies that i can see. nothing out of the normal." he said.
David quietly moved to a wooded area as he looked down at the village. "Maybe we got lucky and that cutie map thing only had a small civil issue." Delta said before David gave him a "really" look. "You cannot rule out it as a possibility."
"How long before sun up?" David asked looking down at the village. "Six hours?"
"That is correct" the green a.i. replied.
"Hey Church" David called on the radio. "I need you to send me the alpha package. Load out with speed, medic and color change. Sat. coms. to transfer delta to the Liberty. Two clicks east of my position." He said heading in that direction "stealth drop" he said heading to the location.
"You are transferring me sir?"
"Yes delta, I need you on the liberty to take command. Reds and blues do you hear me? Delta is in command."
"Delta when you get there, prep the Tex and Alpha directive" he said. "But only deploy on my command. If you don't hear from me, move to a secure location."
"Understood sir."
Looking up David saw the ODST drop pod falling towards the ground. But moments before impact in slowed and landed quietly only a few hundred feet away, a distance that he quickly moved and opened the pod. "Hey shit head, miss me?" The blue a.i. of Church asked.
"Like a headache." David replies and grabbed the equipment before setting up a small satellite dish and transferring Delta to it and sending him to the Liberty.
"Hey man, why did you want me to switch out with Delta?" Church asked.
"Call it a hunch" he said walking back to his spot on the mountain side. He changed his armor color to white, set his motion trackers to a hundred and fifty meters. Turning on his visor and active camo he remained quiet.
"In coming." Church said causing the Spartan to duck right as a brute shot slammed into the tree. The blade embedded into the cold, hard wood "It can't be"
Turning and throwing up his arms in a defendive posture the Spartan was knocked back and started to roll down the fairly steep mountain. Landing onto his back David rolled to the side as the brute shot again was thrown at him. Still on his back David blocked a punch that packed a force he knew well. Spartan. "Shit" he said looking up into the visor of EVA armor. "Maine"
"It's a trap!" As the other ponies surrounded the mane six and Twilight infront of the cutie mark vault, boxing them in. Growling as she touched the headset hidden in her ear Twilight called out to David for help "DAVID WE NEED YOU!" With no response the lavander alicorn Princess quickly took up a combat stance, ready to fight hand to hand if needed as her horn glowed, only for Starlight Glimmer to laugh.
"I wouldn't do that, unless you want something to happen to him." She pointed to the side as a white figure dressed in armor like Davids walked out dragging David into the light, and throwing him onto the ground before putting a gun to his head. The chest piece if his armor was cut open, his chest was bleeding, his helmet was off and David was bleeding from a cut above his right eye.
Throwing his hands up as the former freelancer threw a punch from free fall David saw clearly who his enemy was. "Maine." kicking the rouge agent into the air, David rolled on onto his feet and grabbed his marksmen rifle as he took aim. and fired off a round. It was easily avoided by Maine.
"Actually, the Meta" Church said as he looked at him through Davids helmet cam.
"Any tips" David asked as he took a combat stance.
"Yeah, don't die" Church said as he instantly set his spartan partners speed ability on. to this David shot at Maine in a full sprint and threw a punch that was easily blocked. Punch after punch, kick after kick both combatants refused to move an inch. Each and every blow leaving a deep impacting sound that echoed through the valley. Quickly kicking away the Freelancers weapon while spinning David jumped into the air and drop kicked Maine, landing a center mass hit that sent the former Freelancer agent into a row of trees, Smashing them apart before he came to a stop by rolling to his feet. Maine punched the ground in a brawler type manor before turning invisible.
"Church"
"I'm on it" the A.I. replied as he turned on the Spartans ODST visor. Easily spotting Maine David rushed him at full speed and threw a punch that landed right in the chest the rouge agent, sending him flying through another few trees. As Maine came to a stop this time he landed right next to his brute shot.
While this was happening David was in a full sprint after him and about five feet away when in one swift motion Agent Maine fired off a round and stopped time with his equipment. Walking slowly up to David. "Well fuck" Church said as Maine's time distortion stopped, and the brawler slashed David in the chest and moved to the side allowing the grenade round fired to hit the ODST Spartan in the head, sending him back into the rock wall.
"-COUGH COUGH- Shit, what hit me" David said spitting up blood.
"Time distortion buddy, Maine fucked you up pretty bad. I've got your healing unit running" Church said as he looked at the approaching freelancer. With his helmet heavily damaged, David stood and removed it before taking a fighting stance only to be met with a punch to the face that knocked him onto the ground.
Rolling the Spartan onto his back David looked up as Maine raised his gun towards Davids face ready to pull the trigger. "Whoa there. Hey big guy don't kill him and I'll let you take me" Church said standing right in front of Maine. To this Maine nodded and reached out his hand as Church transferred into Maine's armor.
"Good job my friend. now, carry him to the vault, and keep him alive, we have use for him." A hooded pony said with a feminine voice, her smile the only feature David could see. To is Maine hissed and threw David over his shoulder. With her horn lighting up the pony smile and took the Spartans sniper rifle grabbed and his helmet "Ah, a trophy of the princess's demon." she said smile as she walked off.
"David! David! Don't you die solider!" The Chiefs voice said as David looked up and saw he was on Reach, back when a Hunter practiced its back swing on him, but soon the voice changed to Twilight's who's voice was scared and sad.
"David! Don't you die on me, please don't die" he heard her crying as his eyes opened and he looked at her, her fur matted around her eyes was matted and her eye liner was runny.
"You look like shit" the Spartan said weakly as he chuckled. Smiling at her with a cocky grin he chuckled before he noticed that his armor was still on. Groaning as he tried to sit up Twilight instantly shoved him down, making him wince in pain slightly "ouch"
"Who the hay did this to you" a gruff feminine voice said, one David knew belonged Rainbow Dash.
"The guy in the white armor, lets just say he was part of a special operations group that went rouge, and he himself went rouge and crazy and started killing his friends for their A.I. units." David said "that's the quick version."
"I should kick his ass!" Rainbow said as she punched her fist into her palm.
"Darling don't be stupid" Rarity said crossing her arms over her chest.
"You'd die if you even tried" Apple jack said glaring at her. "look at what "it" did to David"
"Yeah, that guy was real mean" A tiny purple A.I. said as David looked at him.
"Theta, what are you doing here?" he asked.
"Church wanted me to run your healing unit while he could work on disabling Maine's equipment." the younger A.I. said.
"I see." David said as his surroundings finally started to enter his senses and the radio started to bug him "Where in a God damn re-education camp" He said and looked at Twilight "Let me set up, Theta's got this healing unit going." he said. Letting go of him Twilight backed up as David sat up before throwing a hidden ammo clip at the radio, effectively busting and silencing it. "Alright Twi, tell me everything you learned about this town." David said "mostly are the villagers hostile or under a spell?"
"I think a spell, but something is weird, they all have the same cutie mark, like this" she said as she un-did her pants and showed him her hip, nearly causing rarity to faint, but showed that she bared an equal sign "Apparently the head of the town uses a magic item of Starswirl the Bearded's called "the Staff of Sameness." she said as she fastened her pants back up "but i never heard of such an item" she said as she held her chin.
"Theta, do you have a copy of the image of the town that the Liberty took?" David asked the young A.I.
"I do, and it is almost an equal sign, except for one house" he said as he pulled up a hologram of the town "That one".
"Hey isn't that Starlight's house?" Pinkie pointed out and the other girls nodded in agreement.
"And i read almost all information on Starswirl. I don't think i ever came across any information of an Item named the staff of sameness." David said putting his hand on his chin.
"Almost like its made up right guys?" pinkie said with a giggle, this received a stare from both Twilight and David. "What?"
"Pinkie your a genius, but if we can find out more about starlight, damn if we could have a pony on the inside." David said. "But i bet none of you girls liked this town at all did you?" To this all the girls looked at Fluttershy.
"Um....i...." she quickly hid behind her hair, her right hand holding onto the left arm.
"No, no forget it, shes not doing it, not with "IT" out there. Theta. Can you contact Church?" David asked
"I think i can, but i'm not sure"
"You got this buddy, just try" David replied
"Um, okay" he said before contacting Church at a.i. speed, which was two hundred and fourty times faster then humans "hey church, you there?"
"Yeah hes fine, hey um, these guys want to know if you can find anything out about a girl named "Starlight Glimmer?" Theta asked
"The girl in charge of the town?" Church asked
"Yeah, they think shes lying and taking the ponies powers, considering her house doesn't match up to the shape of the town and something called a cutie mark" Theta said
"Hey on let me check." he said and quickly ran over to Starlight's house where he saw her getting out of the shower, a towel wrapped over her upper body, but her cutie mark was visible but she was in the process of covering it up. Quickly moving back to Maine Church replied "yep, shes lying, there is make up on her tramp stamp to hide it. Let David know and tell me when hes gonna make his move."
"Alright see you in a little bit" Theta said and started talking back to David and the others.
"Yeah shes using making up to hide her cutie mark" Theta said as he looked at David and returned to working on his healing unit and vanished into Davids armor.
"Alright girls, i think i got a plain. But we are gonna need help." He pulled an earpiece and put it in his ear "Hey Delta, prepare the Alpha and Tex drop. Be on stand by and ready for my mark. And I'll need a new helmet." He said clinching his fist. -Round two mother fucker, this time, I will win.-
"Oh my god, He's back, how the hell is he back, we attached him to a jeep and shoved him off a cliff" Grif said as he was controlling a power suit designed to be controlled by an A.I unit and was flipping out while looking at five other A.I. powered and controlled battle suits. "I mean, come on guys. last time we beat him, we got lucky"
"Maybe hes immortal" Caboose said "like Santa Clause or the ice cream man"
"What, no, i say he was probably brought here through some kind of temporal distortion thing. like maybe his suit malfunctioned and it sent him into the far distant future where he just arrived." Simmons said as he looked at caboose. "I mean, come one, immortal?"
"That actually makes sense." Tucker said as he grabbed an ODST Spartan helmet. "I mean, what you said Simmons, what Caboose said is just fucking stupid"
"I knew you'd screw this up somehow Grif, man your such a disappointment." Sarge said as he cocked his gun. "This time I'll just have to use my shot gun on him, he he, that'll get'em."
"Oh, vaya a su idiota tal y Sarge , ¿por qué el odio Grif tanto? y Simmions , Lo dudo mucho . "If you assholes are done screwing around, we need to be ready to go. Everyone in the pelican. I'm flying." A black armored a.i. with a feminine voice said "Its time we end this."
As they stood outside surrounded by the ponies, David and Maine starting each other down as david hands where bound with thick and strong cuffs a small rumbling sound could be heard. "Wait, whats that sound" Starlight Glimmer demanded, her cutie mark exposed and her people turned on her.
"The Calvary" David replied just as a pelican drop ship stopped abruptly above the town. Quickly flipping backwards as meta swung the brute shot down towards him, David cut his cuffs in half and landed on his feet.
"DAVID CATCH!" Tucker yelled as he threw the helmet to David who caught it and placed it on in one swift motion.
"Everyone, back to the ship, girls, go get your cutie marks, I got this" David said as he took a fighting stance "Church, wanna give meta our surprise?"
"Yeah, hey big guy, its was nice knowing you, but, your armor abilities are....now offline" Church said as he left Meta and returned to Davids armor. "Hey man, listen, your gonna have to go without some abilities, I need to focus completely on your healing unit if your gonna be fighting. Too bad I'm not the alpha, or I could run your entire armor"
"That's okay, I wont need them" David replied
"So what was the point of him calling them A.I. thingys down here if he was gonna fight that big guy by himself?" Applejack asked the girls as they started off after Starlight.
"The author needed filler and comedy relief" Pinkie said walking off. "Things will just get very weird from here"
"Ya no pinks, i don't think I'll ever understand you either" Rainbow said slowly flying.
As it got quite the two Spartans stared each other down, David gave the "come at me" gesture causing Maine to swing his brute shot at him, easily dodging it David punched the Meta in the face and kicked the brute shot to the side "you gonna stop playing games, Maine?" he said. taunting the former freelancer. soon the two started throwing punches and kicks, blocking and taking hits. Giving him a quick punch to the gut before kicking him in the chest and sending him flying into a building.
"HNGSHHH!" meta grunted as he stumbled to his feet and shook his head before glaring at David.
"Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?" David taunted, smirking behind his helmet. causing the Meta to run at him in a full sprint only to be met with kick to the chest again. "your not such a bad ass without your armor ability, are you"
"No, he isn't" A red, fiery a.i. said as it appeared in front of him "lets fix that"
"CHURCH" David said looking at Maine as his armor abilities turned back on "What. The. Fuck?!"
"Do you want my best guess" he said looking at Maine "When he captured me, it repaired his unit for Sigma, and Sigma didn't want to give away himself being repaired, but that doesn't....shit"
Quickly blocking the now much faster Meta David grunted "What"
"He did it, he fucking did it, a working, complete a.i. unit, when he captured me, what little bit of corrupted data of the others that where left recognized me, copied me and formed a perfect a.i." Church said as he crossed his arms then pointed at Sigma with on finger, keeping his arms crossed. "I'm impressed."
"Hey be impressed later." David said taking a stance. "So basically he now has an Alpha unit." David said "what about you"
"Yep, me too, apparently" He said "looks like i dropped the ball on that, my bad, but" he said quickly healing David to full "you can go all out as well"
Meeting the next Metas punch with his own, causing a large sonic boom as the two made contact. "Give me a speed boost now" David ordered as he quickly grabbed Metas pistol and ran off, leading meta out of the town. "Hes fallowing us right"
Stop right there Starlight!" Twilight said as starlight was cornered. before long avid stopped right next to twilight and grabbed meta before shooting him in the a few times before kicking him into the wall next to Starlight and shooting the six jars, freeing the girls cutie marks.
In a flash Starlight transported herself and Meta away front he area. "You girls okay?" David said holstering the stolen pistol before looking at the white pony who was bringing him his sniper.
"Here dude, Starlight had this in her house, it's yours isn't?" he said looking at the large armored figure in front of him.
"Yeah, thanks." David said looking at Twilight. "Do what you need to, we need to leave. Now"
"Hey that was rude." one of the villagers said "she is a princess"
"And a major threat to Equestria just got away" Twilight said sighing. "right?" David was walking away and just looked back at her. "Crap, that's not good"
