Stupid sun Pinkamena yawned and squinted as the sun hit her face. "Sweet Celestia why does the sun have to be so bright?" Pinkamena mumbled as she began to slowly sit up, lifting up her hoof to block the sun and looked around the room until she saw the other bed in the corner. Least to say Pinkamena was honestly surprised, even though it didn't show on her face, Maud was still sleeping, which was something Pinkamena rarely saw mainly because Maud is always the first to wake up and Pinkamena is always the last. She held back another yawn and stretched thinking, well I could go back to sleep or I can go make breakfast for every pony. She sat and thought about it for a bit. Finally making her decision, she flipped her blanket off and got off her bed, and headed to the bathroom. Once she got to the bathroom, she jumped into the shower. Soon she finished and got out, reached for a towel from the nearby rack, dried herself off a bit then wrapped towel around her mane. She then grabbed her bright pink toothbrush from the cup and started to brush her teeth, staring at her own refection wondering what should she make for breakfast?

After thinking about it for a bit she spit into the sink put her toothbrush way, picked up her hairbrush, unwrapped the towel from her damp mane, and began to brush her long dull mane." I guess I could make hash browns and waffles and maybe some muffins, but we might not have the ingredients for all that." she said quietly. The rock farm hasn't been making any bits of late no one seems to need rocks anymore. If the lack of business keeps up they will run out of bits and will have to sell the rock farm, the only option is to have some pony go to the nearest town and get a job and send half of their pay back to the rock farm till there's business, and the only pony whose skill does not involve rocks is Pinkamena. Pinkamena put her mane into a high ponytail leaving a bit of mane out in the front out, once satisfied she put her hair brush down and left the bathroom and trotted quietly down to the kitchen and opened the pantry and took a look around. “Hmm well I guess every pony will be ok with muffins and some honey oatmeal." She grabbed the ingredient for muffins, spread them out on the counter got the bowls and utensils." Okay, let’s get cooking."

Half an hour later Pinkamena was sitting at the table starting down at her muffin. Sighing she glanced at the clock, 6:55; Maud should be up soon. She let her head fall to the table with a soft thud. ”I guess I should start to pack." She lifted her head, pushed her chair way from the table and began to walk back to her room. Pinkamena slowly opened the door and cringed as it gave a long low squeak. Snapping her head up toward her sister’s bed and froze waiting, and watching for any movement or indication of her sister waking. After what seemed like hours, Pinkamena was sure that Maud was still asleep. Pinkamena squeezed through opening not wanting to open it any more than she had too. Once she was inside she quietly walked toward the dresser and grabbed her black hoodie and threw it on. Then went over to her closet and pulled out her saddle bag, placed it on her back and went to her bed and picked up her comforter, which was her Granny Pie's before she passed.

Her mother Cloudy Quartz wanted to get rid of it on account of it being old and really ugly. But Pinkamena loved it and wouldn't let her throw it away; she loved everything about it she loved the smell, the feel, the warmth, and she loved it because it was her Granny's. Pinkamena squeezed it and took in its scent. She folded it and put it in her saddle bag. Then she squeezed through the door again leaving it open, and headed to the bathroom grabbed her tooth brush, hairbrush and some extra hair ties, put them into a zip-lock bag and headed back downstairs to get the rest of her things. She went into the living room and grabbed her favorite book and a picture of her family, and one of Granny Pie and Nana Pinkie.

She looked back at the clock 7:15. Pinkamena looked toward the stairs and listened for movement. After about five minutes she finally heard the sound of hooves walking across that floor. Pinkamena headed back toward the kitchen and sat down in her chair, only a couple of seconds later she heard the door open and shut giving a brief squeak. Pinkamena started to eat a bit of her muffin, staring at the entry way waiting for Maud to appear. Moments later, Maud walked through the entry way. She stopped and stared at Pinkamena “why are you up so early?" Pinkamena just shrugged and kept eating her muffin. Maud sat down next to Pinkamena “are you nervous pinkie?" Pinkamena sighing pushed her chair out "Maud, you know I hate that nickname. “I know, but it suits you so well and don't avoid the question pinkie." Pinkamena looked at her sister and reached over and hugged her. “Yes Maud I am nervous, you know how much I hate going to Ponyville. And I don't want to leave the farm." Maud held her little sister for a bit then let go and got up and started for the entry way.

"Let's go wake up the others. “Pinkamena nodded and got up pushing her and Maud’s chairs in and trotted after her sister." Pinkie I'll wake up mother and father you can wake up Limestone and Marble." With that Maud headed toward their parent’s room. Pinkamena trotted to her little sisters’ room, opened the door and headed to the bed. She stopped in front of the bed, seeing two forms under the blanket," Limestone, Marble get your lazy flanks up." She shook the bed a little “Limestone! Marble!"

“Sweet Celestia how does Maud gets these two up every day?” Pinkamena grabbed a bit of the sheet and pulled. The two pre-teens were pulled off the bed along with the sheet. Limestone rubbing her head looked up at Pinkamena smiling "Oh good morning Pinks!" Marble just looked forward and raised her hoof “sup." and lowered it back down. Pinkamena just about faced, hoofed and walked out the door. She turned around towards the door “I’ve made muffins you two; better hurry before they get any colder." And she continued to walk down the hallway. "I LOVE MUFFINS, COME ON MARBLE!!!" “Nah I'm good and the bed awaits my return." "COME ON MARBLE!" Pinkamena stopped as she heard a thump come from her sister’s room, just as she looked back at the room she sees a Limestone dragging Marble by the tail headed toward the stairs marble had one hoof reached out towards her room “I’LL COME BACK FOR YOU BED!"

Limestone finally got to the stairs and started to head down, Pinkamena cringed as she heard loud thumps. She turned to see Maud and Igneous walking toward her. Igneous giving her a questioning looks, Pinkamena shrugged “I made muffins." Igneous nodded with understanding and headed down stairs. Maud and Pinkamena followed close behind and followed their father into the kitchen. Every pony sat down and began to eat their muffin and honey oatmeal. Pinkamena finished eating before the rest, but she was content with sitting and watching her family thinking it’ll be a long time till I get to really spend time with them like this again. She looked at the clock, 7:45 “wow time sure flies by." Igneous looked at her then at the clock and sighed “yep, it sure does."

Once every pony was finished they headed outside to bid Pinkamena fair well. Pinkamena took one last look around the rock farm she was going to miss the place even though it is sometimes very boring. Sighing she looked to her family they were standing in order from oldest to youngest tears weld up in Pinkamena eyes, " I'm going to miss all of you so much." Her mother came and gave her a hug" pinkie hopefully you won't be gone too long." She let go of pinkie and stood by her husband. “yeah and I'll send you poems each week pinkie." Maud climbed in. “if any stallion gives you any trouble just come and tell me and I'll kick his flank."

Pinkamena gave her father a sad smile. “Ok, father." Limestone started to cry, ran and hugged Pinkamena. Marble did the same but not the crying part. Once her two little sisters let go she started to walk out the gate and follow the path. Before she got too far; she stopped and turned around. She waved goodbye to her family, sighed and looked ahead and trotted down the path that headed for Ponyville.
