Ahve got a story to tell ya” Applejack called to the town. Soon, foals of all ages came galloping up the hills to Sweet Apple Acres. Applejack grinned as the last young fillies and colts settled into place. “ooooooh, wait! STO-RY-TI-IME!” cried a familiar voice. Applejack sighed and rolled her eyes as Pinkie Pie hopped into the clearing, seating herself next to Pip Squeak. “This one’s gonna be GOOD” she whispered to him. “Now, settle down everypony. As y’all know, next week, we apples ‘ll be hosting the 50th sisterhooves social. Now ah’m gonna tell you all ‘bout it.” Applejack opened a dusty Scrapbook and turned to the first page.............................. “Well, the first Sisterhooves social was hosted in the spring, ‘bout a moon after our annual Winter Wrap Up celebration. Granny Smith, but she was then called Annie Smith, wanted to do a little somethin’ special with her lil’ sis. So she invited all the ponyville ponies to come and race over an obstacle course. She and her brother, who some of you know as uncle Apple Strudel, worked on it all night. When Granny surprised her little sister, Pink Lady, with the course, she was excited as can be. That day, Lots of pairs of sisters came to compete. look, here’s a picture of Mrs. Cake, but she was Cup Porcelain back then, and her big sis, White Porcelain. An’ would ya look at that - It’s Mayor Mare and her big sister, Leader mare. So, the tradition continued every year, with the Apples setting up and hosting the event.” All the ponies cheered as Applejack closed the scrapbook. “But that isn’t it, y’all. Come back tomorrow and I’ll tell you about another very special Sisterhooves Social.” > Sweet Apple and Big Washington > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Now, mah favorite story of the Sisterhooves Social is the one about Sweet Apple. Even though it seems like Sweet Apple would be an Apple, she wasn’t. Her full name was Sweet Apple Popsicle, but she just went by Sweet Apple. She and her younger sister, Orange Citrus, were regular competitors in the Social. Sometimes, they even won! Big Washington Apple was Granny Smith’s son, and he was cheering on his sisters, Apple Bumpkin and Apple Fritter. But as he watched the race, he noticed Sweet Apple glide across the finish line with Orange citrus. Big Washington found himself cheering out loud. That evening, he and Sweet Apple talked about the race and life on the apple farm. Soon they were good friends. Sweet Apple competed in the social every year with her sister, and 10 years after the Social they first met at, Sweet Apple and Big Washington got married right after the Social. Soon, they were happily living on Sweet Apple Acres.” Applejack’s eyes teared up. “Those were mah parents. I sure miss em’, ah do.......” applejack trailed off. “well, er, younguns’, I guess it’s... er..... time to go. But come back Tomorrow. Ah have another story.” Applejack wiped her eyes and galloped into the barn. > Rarity's Story > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Today, ah have a visitor that wants to tell the story for me. So if ya will, please welcome: Rarity!” As applejack stepped off the stand, Rarity sat down on it and made herself comfortable. “Well, you see, the special Sisterhooves Social I want to tell you about didn’t happen long ago at all. One day, my parents decided to take a vacation. It was a tropical vacation over the island part of Saudi Arabia, if you understand what I mean, darlings. They left my dear sister Sweetie Belle with me for the week. You see, I was awfully busy and Awfully stressed, so I may have said and unsavory word or two and such. Sweetie wanted me to participate in the social, but I refused, saying it was uncouth. Sweetiebelle was incredibly hurt, and she left, but not before telling me I was no longer her sister. I was angry at first, but then, when I realized how special of a sister she was, I was devastated. I tried to get her back , but I couldn't. In the end, I secretly participated with her in the social. That’s what brought us back together, and it taught me that it’s okay to get a little uncouth, for your sister. Sweetie and I are excited to participate this year, too. Cheers broke out as all the young ponies appreciated the lesson in this story. Soon, there we cries of “I’m doing the social with my sis this year!” and “I’m so excited for the social! I’m TOTALLY going!” Applejack looked at Rarity and smiled. > Brotherhooves Social > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Now, today's story happens 25 years ago, when the Sisterhooves Social was celebrating it's 25th anniversary." Applejack began. "oooh! oooh! Big Mac should tell THIS story!" Apple Bloom waved her hoof in the air. "And why is THAT?" Applejack inquired, an eyebrow raised "Because he was THERE!" "But he was barely born" "an' you WEREN'T born!" "APPLE BLOOM! You don't argue with me, understood?!" Apple Bloom sighed."Fine," "BUT, Big Mac, would you do the honor?" "EEEYUP." And so the story began. Big McIntosh sat down and began telling the story. "for the 25th anniversary, Sweet Apple Acres hosted not only a race for sisters, but also one for brothers on the same course. Now my father, Big Washington, wanted to race, but he didn't have any brothers: just a sister. He and Sweet Apple were married, and so Sweet Apple decided to dress up as a colt to compete. Right after the normal Sisterhooves race, she ran off to change. Big Washington and Sweet Apple ran the whole course, and nopony knew that they weren't brothers, let along that they weren't both stallions. The only problem was that everypony was really confused that Sweet Apple wasn't there to cheer on her favorite stallion." All the young ponies applauded Big Mac. Almost none of them had hears dim say more than a simple EEEYUP in all the times they had seen him. It was getting late, and all the young ponies headed home. "Hey, thanks for telling the story, big brother," Applejack whispered "EEEYUP"
