> The vampony of Manehatten High > by Fanged Rainbow > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > My first day > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ring Ring Ring!" Oh how I hated that alarm clock, It was six thirty in the morning, who the hell wakes up this early anyway? I got up, and rolled out of bed, yawning, I hated being up during the day anyway, but now I had to go to school. I brushed my mess of a mane into something more appropriate, it actually looked like DJ-Pon3's I loved her music. After brushing my mane and tail I sat back on my bed and looked around my new room, it was empty of anything pretty much, only card boxes my bed and one poster of the fabled DJ I loved so. "Starlight! Come and get your breakfast!" I heard my mother call. "Mom! I'm still dressing!" I called back, and it wasn't a lie. I quietly put on a pair of blue jeans and my white vest, along with a navy blue hoodie. "Starlight!" mother called again... I hate when she wakes me up like this... I walked down stairs to see my mother as graceful as she could be, she was my polar opposite, her long elegant mane, and fine dress she wore were certainly something I would refuse to wear... even at a prom. There was another distance between us to, I'm a vampony. Breakfast was enjoyable to say the least, I had a bottle full of blood as a drink and some pancakes, with more blood on top. My mother wasn't a vampony like me, but she knew about it and didn't seem to care. Breakfast was, as it always is short and quiet, not much ever happened, literally nothing but eating. Then came when I had to step into the sun, luckily my clothes protected me, my black tail hid under my hoodies, along with my coat. As I reached the school at long last I stared at it, it was pathetic looking. "Yuck," I commented seeing the brightly coloured building flashing before my sensitive blood red eyes. Speaking of blood, there was a distinctive smell of it, I loved the smell, yet feared it just the same... Killing on my first day was not going to leave me with a positive start to my first year. Inside was much more to my taste, it was plainer and had a darkish feel to it, it was still light, but not overly bright and colourful. but still that smell of blood, it was fresh I noticed as the stallion who reeked of it walked by, escorted by a teacher I presumed. He had been cut badly, a large gash tearing down his left front leg. Further down the hall I spotted a griffon. It was huge compared to the ponies that made up the majority of the pupils at the school. As I got closer I noticed he was a guy, kind of good looking too, for a griffon that is, don't exactly plan a relationship with one. "Oh hi!" he said loudly. "Uhm.. hi?" I replied, I hadn't been able to walk by when he had started. "I'm Soaring Skies" the griffon continued happily "Hey cool eyes, blood red." I blushed at that it wasn't even sweet, I just blushed. He got distracted however so I got away from him. I wandered the school for awhile, not much else of interest was there too see, so I hurried over the form. Form was boring as ever... just names and names and names! Seriously! It went quickly luckily, and without hassle. The first lesson was better, and I actually paid enough attention to write about it now. "Hello Everypony, I'm Miss Delight," the teacher pronounced calmly, only for someone to ask a very stupid question. "Miss, are you that stereotypical crazy teacher in every TV show in Equestria that's set in a school?" "What?" the teacher replied slightly angry. That made me chuckle slightly, but not loud enough for the teacher to hear, not that it really mattered as she and the student that called her crazy began bickering. I took the opportunity to observe my class, and one of the students worried me. She had a white coat and sleek navy blue mane that matched my hoodie, with a wooden stake as her cutie mark... She was a hunter! I eyed her up, she looked strong, her muscles were refined, yet still feminine. She was also eyeing me up too it seemed, she took most notice in my own eyes by the look of her. After the first lesson I went to the library, it was a free hour for the first day... I picked out a book on Science, specifically blood, it was my favorite subject, and you can probably imagine why. The same mare from first lesson was also here, she picked out a book on mythology and sat right next to me. "Hi, I'm, Rose Red, whats your name?" she asked me calmly. "Starlight Eclipse," I replied, trying to not sound nervous as I read my book. I peeked a look at what page she was on, it was one about vamponies and their weaknesses, as well as how to spot one. She kept glancing at me every now and then... It was unsettling. "What you reading?" she asked me. "Biology book," I replied again "You?" "Mythology, there's a cool page in here about vamponies, you look like you would like them." That sentence made me shiver, and I was glad she hadn't noticed. As she kept reading I went and got the book so I could read it later, before siting back in my chair and taking a lock-box out from my bag, along with a small, blunt knife. Rose took notice in that. "Whats that?" She asked me inquisitively. "My fathers lock-box, he challenged me to open it before he joined the army, its my last memory of him," I replied. "Ahh," she commented... is that the right word? commented? Anyway... she took notice as I began observing the lock in its current state, it looked practically untouched, besides its shiny, silver gleam, I regularly cleaned it. It was a traditional key lock, easy enough. As I began picking it a teacher walked past and noticed what I was doing... he asked me what I was doing too... I gave him the same reply as Rose, while I continued attempting to open the lock... I did it recreationally at home almost all the time. I then had a double biology on blood, and was getting perfect answers according to the teacher, Mrs Hearts Then there was PE, luckily for me I had a note that meant I didn't have to do it! But I still had to wait in the shade for an hour before I could go home... > Not the best morning > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I woke the next morning, not to my alarm, but to my mother yelling at me... "Starlight Eclipse! Wake up this instant!" "Gahh," I screamed in response. I never knew she could yell so loudly, or sound so bucking mad at me. I was late, so I rushed out of bed and raced to get dressed, get my equipment and then I ran to school at supernatural speed. I'm amazed I wasn't caught going so fast, but I skidded to a halt as the bell went, sighing in relief. As I entered the school that same hunter - Rose stood outside my form room, that worried me but she didn't take notice, leaving me to the school routines. As I entered the form room my tutor immediately turned on me! "Starlight, there you are, please head to the head mistress at once," what had I done wrong? Turns out, nothing! I was being asked to join one of our sports clubs! I was shocked and amazed at the same time, the head mistress wanted me to represent the school! But there was a problem, I couldn't compete, It was too dangerous for me... "Uhm... ,Miss Featherheart, I'm sorry to say I can't compete," I told her "Why not?" she replied "Because... I... Uhm... Have a physical condition..." I said, she didn't look pleased with my reply. "What kind of condition?" she asked a concerned look on her face. "Photo-dermatitis," I stated, it wasn't the truth, but not quite a lie either, it's a sunlight allergy and I'm allergic to the sun... kinda... She sighed, she seemed to have realized her battle had been lost, I wasn't playing for the school... Something else caught her attention though, me! "So how are you coming to school?" she asked me, her tone sounded aggressive suddenly. "My clothes protect me, for the most part," I replied, mirroring her tone, something which apparently made her mad. That got me a detention... my day was just getting worse... After I made my way from the head mistress's office I began walking to English, I could feel I was being watched. I was. "Hey~" I heard a voice call. I turned to see the griffon returning, Soaring Skies. "Hey, I saw you leaving from the head's office! why?" I blanked him in an attempt to get to lesson, before I was late for that too. "Are you okay?" "Leave me alone!" I hissed at him. That sent him flying back onto some other pupils. "Oops." That caught that hunters attention as she walked by, staring at me in a suspicious looking tone. She also pulled out her weapon, a wooden stake! I cringed seeing it and galloped to my lesson. "Starlight Eclipse? Where is, Starlight?" my teacher asked as I attempted to sneak into the room. "Ah, Starlight, there you are. Why are you so late?" he called to me. I wanted to just run after what I had done in the hallways. "Sir, didn't your hear, she sent that griffon on top of, like ten ponies, innit?" a student called. "Stop talking like that, you sound ridiculous" another stated, and added "However, he is right, she caused Soaring Skies to fall on ten ponies..." "She schooled 'em!" "Shut up, for Celestia's sake!" I hoped this lesson would go better. I sat at my desk, a dusty wooden table with a metal top, and tools at the side. I looked at my work partner, It was that idiot that constantly used slang. "So, girl." "Shut up before I break your face," I spat at him, and he immediately fell silent. Best thing about being a vampony? Defiantly how people natural fear you when your angry! "So today we will be making a basic lock," my teacher called, he hadn't even told us his name and he was bossing us about... we just had to refer to him as 'Sir'. I liked the subject of this lesson at least, I lock picked recreationally, remember? "It will be made from metals, and you must construct a key for it was well." "Easy," my partner said, so I glared at him, shutting him up. "You will gather your materials and work alone for this lesson, understood?" "Yes sir," everypony said in unison, it was kinda creepy to me. I made mine by taking our item to lock, in my case a chest, and screwing each piece of metal on it's front one on the top, one on the bottom. I used two small sheets to be precise. Then I used my partners magic to weld two more pieces, with round holes in them to each sheet. I made sure they were aligned perfectly. Then i made the 'key'. It was a copper cylinder, that was it. "Sir!" I called, my teacher responded by coming to see my work. "Hmm... yes, that's interesting, nicely fitted... What about the key?" my teacher said. "It's that copper rod," I replied , pointing to the copper cylinder that stuck through the two holes, locking my box. It stuck out slightly at each end too. "Hmm... not the most secure, but it keeps it shut," my teacher stated "Nicely done, room to improve but nicely done." "What about mine sir?" my partner asked, his wasn't bad, could be better though, it was poorly cut and it looked... inappropriate to be in public. however it functioned, it used bolt technology, however he made the bolt a... I'm not even going to say... The bell went, but we kept working due to it being a double lesson. What we didn't expect to hear, was a scream... > A disaster and a half... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- That scream... It would have sent a shiver down my spine if it were not for the aroma that hit my nose... Blood. I love the smell, after all, It's what I eat. And the sheer adrenaline that suddenly pumped through me. "Celestia buck!" "Owch..." "That's gotta hurt." Somepony had gotten their hoof stuck in a cutting machine, literally sawing the front of their right hoof off... It caused panic in the class as the hospital was called. The aroma was so enticing, so difficult to resist. What could I do? I galloped the the bathroom in an attempt to get away from the situation. A teaching assistant had followed me. "Starlight? Why did you run from lesson?" she asked me. "I'm squeamish," I lied. The teaching assistant sighed. "Starlight, come back to lesson" "N-No!" I yelled feeling my hunger rising, I avoided the mirror and rolled into a ball, feeling like I would assault my teaching assistant. "Starlight Eclipse!" I stared at her hungrily, she got the message it seems as she backed down. But not five minutes after she left I tried to sneak home. I saw him, his bone were visible. that was a bit much, even for me. "Buck..." I whispered as I turned my head so I couldn't see him." When I thought the student had gone I turned my head again, my teacher was across the hall, watching me. "Starlight, can you come back to lesson now?" he asked in a concerned voice. I didn't reply. "Starlight?" he asked me again, yet I still remained silent. "Starlight Eclipse!" he said angrily, losing his temper, but it soon was replaced by sorrow. "Can I go?" I asked quietly. "Lesson's cancelled," he replied. I nodded, heading outside, hood up and sitting in the shade thinking to myself. Several teachers walked past me as I sat under a balcony, none paid any attention too me though. Part of me wished it could kill me if it collapsed. It couldn't though because of the whole vampony thing... I wanted my suffering to end there and then. What if I couldn't stop myself next time? What if I hurt somepony? What if I killed somepony? The questions kept coming... I was a nervous wreck by the bell for break. I sat there still questioning myself, and if I was safe to be around when suddenly... "Hey~" Soaring Skies called. "What's up?" Ruby added. "Somepony nearly killed themselves in woodworking," I replied. "Owch," Ruby replied, before attempting to change the subject. "So what's your cutie mark anyway? Can't tell under your jeans." "Why?" I asked her suspiciously. "Trying to change the subject," Ruby replied innocently. I didn't buy it. However she's a good actor. "Why?" I repeated, getting slightly annoyed, and she could tell. "I'm interested in you" she replied, trying to sound sincere. "Liar" I hissed, before trotting inside, ignoring her plea for me to return. It was quite inside, I trotted through the corridor, aiming to find a club of some sort. I found an gaming club and decided to see if I could join. Luckily I was accepted right away. I was surprised by that but grateful as I logged on and created my account. We were playing a game called 'Colony', it was a strategy game, and one it took well to. After completing the six mission campaign I got to play against other club members. I was playing with somepony called 'Pwny88'. He sounded like some over confident swine. I was against two CPU's. It was kinda fun really, I built a Outpost and upgraded it to a Barracks, before deploying three Sniper units. My ally had created a bank and told me I was playing the game wrong and that we would lose. Idiot. The enemy responded with a large group of marines, destroying he air force, but my snipers defeated them with ease. I used my reward to create more snipers. After about five minutes I had a large force of snipers, with marines to help defeat air based foes. When I attacked my units annihilated my foe. and the word 'Victory' popped up on my screen. Somepony yelled out "I can't believe this idiot's tactic won!" "Wow, such a loser, learn to play," I replied to him walking out the door as the bell went. Leaving the group to fight itself. Next was languages... Boring. "Miss Delight?" somepony called out. "Yes?" the teacher replied. "I'm sorry about yesterday," the student stated, sounding truthful. I looked over to Ruby, she was writing something on some paper, and tossed it at me. I read it and threw it in the bin. She frowned. I ignored her to the best of my ability, but she wouldn't give up. "What!" I snapped at her, causing her to flinch and back down. It also alerted the teacher... Oops. "Starlight, what's going on?" the teacher asked. "Ruby wont leave me alone," I replied, getting scowled at by Ruby for telling on her... I don't exactly like her though, so it didn't really phase me much... "Ruby, detention!" the teacher barked, surprising me, although considering yesterday, it really shouldn't have. I snickered as we got back on topic. We were doing writing, you can probably tell that that came in handy, otherwise you probably would not be reading this... Anyway, back on topic. Ruby was glaring at me for the majority of the lesson, but when I answered a question I saw her reaction to my mouth... I'm so busted... "Vampony..." she whispered, the horror of my ears, my secret gone... Now what? > Busted > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I saw Ruby glare at me distrustingly, so I jumped to my work and pretended I didn't happen. I knew it had though, it was a bucking disaster! For me at least... She glared a little longer before turning to her work, but she also threw a note at me. I read it, and hated what it said 'Your dead, vampony' At least she remembered her grammar. The as the lesson when on Ruby made me more and more uncomfortable. She first threw stuff at me behind the teachers back, then she gave me a glimpse of the weapon that could easily end my life, then at the end of the lesson we had a very discomforting chat... "Alright class, I will now put you into groups, "the teacher stated, causing me to sweat nervously, I really didn't want to do that. "Ruby, Starlight, Soaring Skies and Wild, your in group one." "Crap..." I muttered as we all sat down on one table, I sat opposite Ruby, and next to Soaring skies. Ruby kept up her glaring, and Soaring Skies noticed. "Ruby? Something wrong?" he asked. Ruby shared her glare with him too. She was mad. I heard the bell go and we were dismissed, I looked at my school timetable to see what was next. "Double DT, Languages, Double ICT, damn," I muttered. then I heard music to my vampiric ears... "School has been cancelled, you may return home." "Bingo," I exclaimed as I grabbed my belongings and made my way to the school exit. When I arrived I pulled my hoodie over my head and started galloping home at the fastest speed I could without drawing more attention to myself. "Get back here!" I heard somepony yell, Ruby. "Buck this!" I yelled accelerating to supernatural speeds, but I couldn't lose her! She kept chasing me to my house where I quickly slammed the door and locked it. "Mom! hide!" "Why? What's wrong Starlight?" my mother gasped. "Do they know?" "One of them does," I replied. My mother cried, I didn't want her to, but she did. "Mom, don't cry," I pleaded, but then the banging on the front door caught my attention. "Wipe away your tears, act natural, and most importantly keep her out of my room!" I instructed my mother. She nodded, so I ran upstairs and hid under my bed, it was the best I could think of at the time. I used my enhanced hearing to listen to my mother and Ruby. "Let me in!" Ruby demanded angrily "Why? Who are you, and what do you want? my mother replied. "My names Ruby Rose, I'm a vampony hunter, and I'm sorry to say it, but your daughter is one of the demons." "My darling is not! They are a myth!" my mother protested, I knew it was a lie, and so did she. You have me to thank for that... I heard my mother get pushed out of the way, and Ruby getting closer. I readied myself for a fight, but when I heard a door swing open I found it was not mine. I sighed at the fact and waited, teeth ready to kill. I didn't want to kill her, she was to dangerous for me though. The next door I heard swing open was mine... "I can tell your in here, I can smell you!" Ruby yelled. "You can smell me?" I replied throwing my voice. Ruby opened my cupboards. "Drat. Yes I can smell you, monster!" she spat as she kept looking for me. She checked my drawers next. "Blood bags, dear?" she asked mockingly, so very close, but not quite close enough to strike. I hissed. "Leave them alone!" She took them out the drawers and punctured them, letting the precious juices spill on the oak floorboards of my bedroom. "Bitch," I murmured, lapping up the blood close enough to me. "You ruined it!" "Oh have I?" she mocked. I lost it jumping out knocking her to the floor, causing her to lose her weapon. "Gahh!" she screamed. I saw the fear in her eyes, she was so close to death, and I could take her there, just like that. I hesitated, I didn't want to, but I had to. Right? No, I didn't I knew that. so I just held her. I did however take a drink of course, she spilt my blood, so I spilt hers. I bit into her left foreleg clamping down tightly, her blood was sweet, type O... I could taste something else though... She kept on staring in horror while I savoured the taste of her blood. "Let me go!" she pleaded. I ignored her. She began crying, so I let go, but kept holding her down. "What's the matter? You started this," I stated, blood dripping from my fangs onto her face. I made sure to look as scary as I could, my fangs were bared, with a psychopathic grin marked on my face. My eyes were bloodshot, and frankly... I was blood drunk. I stared at her hungrily, but I decided to get of her before I did kill her. "Out!" I demanded. I spotted her trying to reach her weapon, and smashed it under my hoof. "Out!" I roared suddenly sending her scrambling for my door. I watched her running from my windows, she looked terrified, her eyes wide, with shrunken pupils, a frown on her face, I even saw her teeth clenched together from my window. When she was gone I hurried down stairs, checking my mother was okay. then I stared down at my greatest horror, and saddest thoughts... My mother wasn't breathing, she had no pulse, and she had a smashed skull... My mother was dead! > Blood Lust. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was overcome with sorrow the moment I saw my mothers corpse, tear rolling down my cheeks. "Why?" I asked myself, sorrow and rage bubbling under my skin. "Why?" I asked again, anger in my voice. "Why!" I roared one last time in blood lust. Ruby had to die! I kept crying over my mothers dead body until nightfall. "I will take her life..." I murmured to myself. I was furious, and I intended to get revenge. I went to my room and smashed the window open, ignoring the resulting glass wedged in my hoof. I was then stepped out into the chilling night winds, ignoring the cold too. My destination was Ruby's home, but I didn't know where that was. "Time for a robbery," I told myself heading towards the school. The files inside would tell me where to go. The school doors were, as expected, locked. I smashed the doors down with a powerful kick, causing the doors to splinter as they fell to the ground. I looked at my surroundings and decided where to go, the head's office, it would contain the files. Right? I smashed her office's window and stepped in, looking for where the files would be kept, her computer would be a logical place to store them. I was right. As I loaded her computer I looked around the small room. It was dark, and slightly cold, with large windows, one of which I had broken , to the right. The computer loaded up, and I turned my attention to it, using dark magic to operate it and get what I wanted. What I wanted, I got to. Ruby's full name, age and housing address. "Perfect." It took one minute at most to reach Ruby's thanks to my supernatural speed... I knocked on her window from above, waiting until she opened it. When she finally did I flew in and hid in a dark corner, she was completely oblivious. I went inside her head. "You shouldn't have done what you did today." I stated, inside her own head. "Wha- Who are you? Where are you?" she replied. "Oh, just the daughter of the pony your murdered today, fiend," I hissed. "Starlight!" she yelled grabbing her stake. "Drop it," I commanded, forcing her to do so. "How did you?" "Magic." She began panicking, I could smell it. I crept from my hiding spot, getting closer, yet remaining unseen... Mostly. She spotted my tail, grabbing it, and holding me in the air with her own magic. "Drat," I muttered, hanging in the air. She attempted to get her weapon, but got to close, so I kicked her in the head, knocking her out cold. "Aww, no how can I enjoy her suffering?" I asked myself. I sat and waited for an hour or so before she woke up again. "Ah ha, your awake!" I cheered. "Wha-" She rubbed her head, and I quickly bit into her. "Ahh!" she screamed in response. Her blood oozed onto my tongue, and I adored the taste. I looked up to her, tightening my grip, watching her try break free. She couldn't, simple as. by the look of her she was about to faint from blood loss, so I stopped drinking her precious blood. She still fainted... "Damn it, filly!" I roared in anger, the moonlight filling my eyes as I turned to the window. She wasn't the fun I hoped for, but she satisfied my lust for blood. I turned and looked at her clock, it was getting... early? Whatever... It was nearly sunrise, and I needed to be at school tomorrow. So I flew out her window and headed home, leaving Ruby's parents deal with their daughters 'punishment'. The flight home was peaceful, my mind at rest... More or less. It was fairly cool, and quaint, the smell of lavender in the air. I hate lavenders. I saw my house up ahead and snuck into my room through the window, pretending to be oblivious the to murder downstairs... The next morning was glum, I saw my mothers corpse and cried some more, before putting on my acting face, and calling the police. "Hello, this is the EPD, how can I help you?" the pony on the other end of the line asked. "Help, I've just found my mother's been murdered!" I said, trying to sound panicked and sad, although the sadness came naturally. "We'll be on our way," the voice replied, it was feminine, that's all I could make out. I sat next to my mother, waiting. Waiting for the police to arrive. When they did I opened the door, tears rolling down my face, they could clearly see my mothers dead body in the background. "C-can I help you?" I asked between sobs, trying to put off the rage for Ruby that had resurfaced. "Let us in," the police pony replied, I obliged and let them get on with their work. However not too long later one called me over. "Miss Eclipse, please make we have your hoof print?" "Of course," I replied, it would have been suspicious to say no... probably. The officer looked at the sample intuitively, then at the data he had on record. "Well, the hoof print on her face is completely different from yours, don't worry we will find the culprit..." I looked at him, the uncertainty in his voice worried me slightly, however not much, after all I knew who had commit the crime, and had vengeance. I decided to take advantage of the situation. "I'm... going to get out of your way," I said as I trotted upstairs to watch the news. What came up caught my eye, 'school robbery, data stolen', it looked like my antics the previous night had been noticed. "The Manehatten High school has been broken into, evidence suggests no money or possessions were taken, however several files have been accessed, including the student listings. We advise all parents of students attending the high school to keep their children at home. In other news, Ruby Rose, the alleged 'vampony hunter' has been found by her parents near death. She has been taken to hospital where she is receiving medical treatment." "Oops," I muttered... > Regrets > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It had been several days since I had nearly killed Ruby, and school had been... quiet. But that was quick to change when she showed up. It happened in the corridors on the way to my second lesson. "You!" she yelled, slamming me into the wall, anger the only emotion in her eyes. What had I done? Oh right, nearly killed her. "Wha-" I panicked, unaware of what had happened. "Shut up!" she yelled in my face. She was pissed, I saw the reason why in her upper jaws. Fangs! That wan't planned. I gulped, unsure what she would do, and by the look in her eyes, and the stake in her hoof told me. I was going to buckin' die! "Woah, Ruby, calm it!" Soaring Skies yelled in my defense. It gave me just the opening I needed to break free and gallop down the corridors, I didn't bother hiding my true speed - or form. I transformed into a half demon half pony, causing everypony great panic. Mistake? Maybe. I didn't care, I was running. When a group of ponies got in my way they began to cower, I was charging them practically. I jumped onto one, crushing his skull slightly, he was alive still, if just. I looked back to see Ruby still chasing me. Well, buck. I kept running. I only wanted to escape, I had nowhere to hide, nowhere to run. no sanctuary at all. Except one place that is, the manehatten sewer systems. I knew them well, occasionally hunting does go wrong. Then it occoured to me, I couldn't get out, the doors were locked during the school day to stop ponies skiving. That was a problem. Just like the fact I was still being chased by Ruby! "You made me a monster!" she yelled "I'm going to end you!" "Get lost!" I yelled in reply. I turned to face her, she was fumeing. I bared my fangs and prepared to fight, but I wasn't expecting the power she had in her kick. She sent me flying into the wall. I decided to break the window and jump out, using my hoodie to keep my body shaded. As I ran I passed a mare as I ran, she had a light amberish grey coat and a pale, light grayish cyan and light opalish gray mane. She had worked with the element of generosity I belive when Princess Twilight visited the city. I yelled back"Sorry!" to her as I continued fleeing Ruby, whom still hadn't given up the chase. "Leave me alone!" I yelled at her. "I'm not losing this!" she yelled back, her stake in her magical grasp. I took of flying into the air, thankful that I was a pegasi, and that I could use dark magic. That came in handy later... I landed on a random rooftop and panted for breath, running as super speeds took it out of me. Unfortunately Ruby found me. I was too exhausted to fly or fight, so I jumped. I came crashing down on top of somepony, biting into their neck and sucking them dry. I normally wouldn't be so aggressive, but this time my life was on the line. I didn't pay much attention to who it was... Then I ran, and fled into the sewers, just like I previously planned. Now there was some commotion, I was seen in public killing somepony, Ruby wanted to kill me, and I had only limited time before she inevitably found me. I just ran, taking a left turn down a four-way intersection, the a right at a two-way, before running into a large cylindrical room. It was my gangs hideout, but non of them were there it seemed. "Yo, Night Wind? Emerald? Raze?" I called, there was no response. "Anypony?" I called out, repeating myself three times... Still no response... Then I heard her voice, Ruby's voice echoed in my head. "I'm coming!" she taunted. "I will find you," she screamed "And I will end you!" I used what energy my meal had given me to fly into a small gap in the walls, they led into a tiny cave, room enough for one pony. I hid there, Ruby's voice trailing in and out of existence. "Where are you?" I heard her call. "Come on out..." came next, trailing of into the background. About ten minutes later of silence and she piped up again. "Come on out, please... I won't hurt you," she lied. She was right behind the wall to me. I was terrified. The stench of the sewers didn't help either honestly, I wanted to just wish myself away after another twenty minutes. She had sat down by the sound of it, we were both leaning on the same wall I guessed. "Please let me talk to you," I asked apologetically guessing she was still angry. I heard her crying. "I'm sorry Starlight, I want the suffering to end... I let myself get over come by rage..." "Huh?" "My own mother was killed by a vampony, my father died fighting one too. I wanted to avenge them, and I took it too far." "Ruby..." This time there was no response. "Ruby?" I called, I wanted a response, and the lack of one was worrying me. I let me curiosity get the better of me and peeked out to see her. She was dead! I climbed out in a hurry to look at her corpse... Suicide, she had driven her stake through her own heart! I couldn't believe my undead eyes. Firmly held in her right forehoof was her wooden stake, which was half-buried into her heart... Then, surprising myself, I cried. > So many questions... (And a few answers) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I looked down at Ruby's corpse for a moment... Had she really done it? No... Somepony else was here! I smelt them, and the smell of decay. Ruby hadn't been dead long enough to produce that. I looked about and spotted another corpse. A black stallion with a light blue mane. "Night Wind?" I asked it. There was no response he was dead. So was Emerald. Raze was missing though. Then it clicked. Raze was behind me. I turned and saw a wolf like form watching me, his red eyes fixated on me. Suddenly he became a white crystal pony with a purple and blue striped mane. "What are you doing here, Starlight?" he asked. "This is our hideout. what happened to them?" I asked him. "I happened," he replied. "Why?" I asked, shocked and angered. "I'll tell ya, but only because you won't be 'ere much longer," he smirked making me uneasy. "I killed 'em because I can, simple as." "I knew you would do something like this at some point, Lycan!" I yelled in fury. We began to circle each other, slowly moving around the circular pit in the center of the room. I stepped over the stream of sewage as I stared at him. He waded through it, his own gaze locked on me. "Raze?" "Hmm? "Look out!" I yelled at him, charging at him. He was caught of guard by the attack and sent across the room. "Heh, not bad...." he responded, galloping to me, taking his wolven form. I countered by flying upwards, out of his reach. He pounced, catching my leg and dragging me down, so I smashed his head with my hoof. "Get of me!" I yelled at him. "Gahh, stop that!" he responded to me as I continued to hit him, my hoof coming down harder each time. I ignored him, until he bit my leg. I screamed in pain and kicked his face, making him drop me. I fell into the waters below and cringed, blood streaming from my leg. It was no good to drink either. "Oww..." I whined as I slowly got up. My body protested with the continued fighting, burning up heavily as my bruised began to show, and the blood continued to drip from my leg. Raze jumped down, a caring look on his face, but that changed as soon as I charged. "Not so easily fooled are you?" he mumbled just loud enough to hear. I replied by smashing his furry muzzle in. He jumped and turned into his pony form. begging for mercy. "I give, I give!" His muzzle was bloody, his right eye black, and his left forehoof bent in an unnatural way. "You give?" I asked. "Yes!" he cried. "Alright, first things first. Why?" I asked. "Pardon?" he blurted out. "Why?" I roared in anger. "I had to, I'm a henchman! I swear! She was too!" Raze pointed at Ruby. I gave him a stern look. "Really?" "Yes! There are four of us being led by a pony called..." "Called?" "Called, Nightcore!" "That's a type of music." I commented. "Damn" I frowned and pulled my hoof up to strike. "Stop!" he begged, tears in his eyes. "Give me one good reason why?" I asked, fury in my veins. "I'll be truthful! He's called Filthy Rich!" he admitted. "Filthy Rich?" asked confused. I knew him, he was a founder of Ponyville's son. Why would he be in Manehatten? I pondered that as I left Raze bleeding. What would Filthy Rich want with me? Was my mothers death his instructions? Was it really him? It didn't matter how I found out as far as I was concerned, so long as I found out. Murder, torture and... other things... were not going to stop me finding out. I went home to ponder. The cops had left, giving me time to log into my hacking group. Anonymous. I logged on, and headed straight to the forums, making a new post titled 'Filthy Rich!' after typing it I re-read it aloud, even though nopony could hear me. "I have a new target, Filthy Rich. I've been attacked by two ponies, one claimed both of them were henchmen of his... I need info on this, and I can't do it alone." I smirked and posted it, a response came in less than five minutes. I read it aloud too. "On it, this is odd and needs to be looked at, other people complained about something similar." I took interest in it and did some more research. After researching I went back to my post, and read the newest reply. "Somethin' is up with this pony, we should get some ponies onto the IRC." So we did. After half an hour or so I logged of and looked over to my lock boxes. I was continuing to ponder, but I wanted to take my mind of it. So I switched of my laptop and began picking away at some of the locks. One of the locks opened with ease, what I saw inside brought back a sad memory, my fathers fang. I loved my father dearly, he taught me how to hunt, fly, fight and how to pick locks! I loved him, yet he left me and my mother without a trace. Why he did it we never found out. I held it to me, it was my last memory of him, and as much as it saddened me, I felt happy to have something though. Then I heard a crash. "Oww..." Ruby? > Looking for replacement author! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey guys, this isn't a chapter to my story, but a message... I need an author to continue this story for me. I loved writing this to where it is, but I'm just burnt out on my writing, and I'm just unable to continue. I'm looking for an author that is willing to bring this story to it's conclusion while keeping everyone's characters the same. I feel passionate about this story, I really do, but I just cannot continue writing. That's why I ask you, are you willing to take over Starlight's story and bring it to it's end. I will be accepting applications and will choose whomever satisfies me in that they can continue this story to a true end. But there will be rules, keep it teen! No-one else may die, I really shouldn't have killed Ruby, but I turned her into a banshee to sort that (Oh spoilers!) and that Manehatten must be left, besides that, and that Filthy Rich stay the villain here, the story will be your to tell. Please help. And forgive me...
