A group of three ponies walked into a dark damp cave.

"Um, boss," one of them whispered, "Are you sure we are going the right way?"

"Of course," the leader of the trio replied, "this is where the map led. Now shut your mouth and let's go. It's time to spread some chaos around Equestria."

"How exactly are we going to do that?"

The leader sighed and whispered, "The artifact we are looking for contains a great evil. I use a spell to release it, and then it shall spread destruction throughout Equestria."

"But how?" The other pony asked.

"I don't know exactly," the leader whispered, "but we are going to find out."

"Then, how do we know it's...safe?" asked the third pony, who was silent until now.

"It's quite simple," replied the leader, "we don't. Now let's shut up and get a move on shall we?"

They continued on quietly until they reached a room. Markings covered the walls, floor, and ceiling.

"This is it," the first one whispered, "It's time."

Her horn glowed with dark magic, her eyes turned green as she cast the spell to summon the power she sensed.

KABOOM!

An explosion shook the chambers of the cave. The three ponies watched as a ball of what seemed to be pure darkness rose from the ground.

"Yes, YES!" the leader screeched, "We have found it! We will now use it's power to control Equestria, and the entire world!"

Then laughing was heard. It took the trio a while to figure out that it was from the thing they have summoned.

"You, control me? To take over Equestria? How RIDICULOUS! No, I shall not be helping you take over Equestria, not at all. I have my own plans for the inhabitants of Equestria, starting with YOU. Although you do have my thanks for releasing me. Now I shall begin!"

The leader gasped then groaned in pain as her head started to ache. Something was about to take over her. The last thought she had before she blacked out was,

What have I done?

Chapter 1: The Evil Sets In

Princess Luna walked out to balcony with her sister, Princess Celestia.

"Here, let us lower the sun an hour early tonight," said Celestia, "then maybe more ponies will enjoy the moon tonight."

Luna looked at Celestia, "but won't everypony be confused though. We try to stay on schedule most of the time. If the night comes early, some of the inhabitants may freak out or something."

Celestia giggled a little, "Don't worry dear sister, everything will be all right, I already told the Royal Guard to post notices throughout Equestria. I would believe everypony is ready for the early night."

"Allright," Luna replied, "Let's do this."

Celestia's horn glowed, and proceeded to lower the sun. Luna then raised the moon and awoken the stars from their daily slumber.

Celestia yawned, "Good night Luna. I have a lot of things to do in the morning, so unfortunately I have to go to bed. See you tomorrow, and I will try to stay up late with you some night soon."

Luna watched her sister retreat into the castle. She smiled, and took off in flight to the night sky. She flew a bit before settling on a cloud that was drifting passed. Bored, she played with the night sky, rearranging some of the stars. Then she had an idea. Her magic glowed as she prepared to brighten the sky with a light show of shooting stars. Just as the stars were about to enter the sky, she stopped.

Something didn't feel right. Luna felt a presence, and not a good one. She then felt something groping at her...mind. Eyes opening wide, she then cast a spell of her own invention. It was a spell meant to protect the mind of evil thoughts and presences. She created it after the Nightmare Moon incident, as she never wanted that to happen ever again.

Was that what was happening now? Had her jealously been building up without her even knowing? She sat there, battling with the darkness that was trying to take over her. After what seemed like an eternity, it subsided.

Gasping, Luna sat up, breathing heavily.

"Wha-what was that?" she whispered to herself quietly, "I'd better go tell Celestia."

She quickly flew back to the castle to warn her sister.

She landed and saw Celestia. She was waiting in Luna's bedroom, and she looked angry.

"Celestia, I need to tell you something," Luna began, wondering why Celestia looked so mad.

"Of course you do Luna," Celestia replied sternly, "what were you doing? You know you are not allowed to leave the castle unless I give you permission, which I did not."

Luna gasped, "Wha-what? You must be mistaken Tia, I-I never heard you say such a thing! What happened?"

Celestia shook her head, "The rules have been made clear enough Luna. You broke them, so you will face the consequences just like anypony else that breaks them."

"But-but," Luna stammered, she had no idea what her sister was talking about. What rules?

"No buts!" shouted Celestia harshly, "for your violation of the law you will be sentenced to a confinement in your room for a week. You will not be able to raise the moon, I will handle it until your punishment is over. Do I make myself clear?"

"But-but I," Luna began, but stopped, "Yes sister, you-you have made yourself clear. I-I accept my...punishment..."

"Very good," Celestia replied, "but quit the 'sister', 'Celestia' and 'Tia' nonsense. You shall address me as Princess Celestia, or Your Majesty, just like everypony else is required to do."

With that, Celestia left the room, as Luna sat there, completely stunned. What had happened to Celestia? She had never acted that way before.

"Maybe," Luna whispered as she lay on her bed thinking, "Maybe that presence I felt earlier wasn't just trying to get to me. Maybe it tried to get into Celestia's head too. And maybe not just us two, what if everypony in Equestria was affected?"

She lay there thinking. If that were true, then she would have to try very hard to convince anypony to believe her. But she needed help to get to the bottom of whatever was affecting Equestria. But where would she find help? The more she thought about it, the more the answer became clear. She knew of a world that was unknown to most ponies. Even Twilight didn't know, although she had been to a world like it, the one Luna knew of was quite different.

The human world.

Luna sat quietly in her room thinking. What would happen if she did summon people from that world to Equestria? All she knew is that they should turn into ponies, as that was part of the spell. But what would they do? And how would they do it? They probably would have no idea what was going on. Maybe Luna had a better chance of convincing a pony corrupted by whatever was corrupting Equestria into believing her and to help her. But she couldn't do that for another week, while as she could perform the spell right then.

Luna started to pace back and forth. Then it hit her. She knew how she could modify the spell so that the person she summons has some knowledge of Equestria and the inhabitants.

"Surely if some ponies know of their world," she muttered, "then some of them should know of ours."

It was decided. She would cast the spell and hope for the best. Since summoning the pony to the castle would surely raise suspicion, she would send him/her to a hill outside of PonyVille, where Luna hoped was clear of ponies.

Her horn was soon wrapped with magic as she started to perform the complicated spell. Her head started to ache because of all the magical energy she was about to release.

"Please...help...us..." she gasped as her horn glowed real bright, and the magic light burst in an explosion and disappeared.

She got up, exhausted. She had done it, she had summoned someone from the other world to Equestria. But one question remained;

Will this new pony make a difference in saving Equestra?

~~~Meanwhile, in the Human World~~~
Finally, the school week was over. Two days until this teen had to go back to school, or as she liked to call it, hell.
She grabbed her bookbag and started walking to the exit, ignoring bullies as she passed.
She walked out into the warm spring afternoon. She was walking home today, her grandmother unable to pick her up. She couldn't wait for Saturday when a new episode of her favorite show, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, would come on.
She was halfway home when she felt it. A tingling sensation. She shrugged it off, but then her vision turned blurry. She wiped off her glasses, but that didn't help. Then her vision went completely white. It felt like she was in a void of some kind. Then she heard a voice, that seemed quite loud in the otherwise silence.
"Please...help...us..."
Then her vision went black and a falling sensation came over her.
...
...
...
...
Pain.
That's the first thing she felt. She felt, odd. Too tired to open her eyes, she tried to stand up, but she couldn't, and fell back down. That was odd, her joints seemed to be out of place. It also seemed like she had three extra appendages that weren't there before. Some bug was flying around her head, so she flicked it away with her ear.
Her eyes shot open, something was wrong. When her eyes adjusted to the light, she gasped. The world didn't look normal, it looked, animated, and the style seemed awfully familiar.
She lifted up her arm so she could rub her eyes, but stopped.
Her arm didn't end with a hand, it ended in a...hoof. Not to mention that it was a light green color. She stared at it for a moment, then looked at the rest of her. She was a pony. Or to be more accurate, she was a Pegasus by the looks of the feathered wings on her back. She felt her forehead. Nope, not an alicorn. Her hair, or mane, she corrected, was orange and yellow in a flame-like pattern. So was her tail. She looked at her flank. She had a cutie mark, a dragon curled into a shape of a heart. This seemed all too familiar to her.
Then she gasped in realization, "I'm my OC!" she said, amazed, "I-I'm DragonFlame! But-but how? How am I a pony? Why am I here? Is this really Equestria?"
She stood up on all fours, wobbling a little.
"I've got to get used to this," she muttered, "and than I'll have to learn to fly."
She perked up. Oh how much had she wished to fly! Now she could. She hoped that somebody, "somepony," she corrected herself again, would teach her. But where were the other ponies? Were there any? The voice had asked for help, could they all be trapped? She hoped not, she had no idea where to find them if they were.
She saw that she was right next to a hill so she started to climb it slowly, and finally got to the top. There she could see it. The town that she had visited only in her imagination, PonyVille.
She started to the town quickly, not caring about how many times she tripped over her own hooves. Finally she could make friends, start over. Finally there could be somepony she could talk to. This wasn't a dream anymore.
She didn't know that she was galloping into the beginning of a nightmare.
Chapter 3: First Day in Ponyville
View Online
DragonFlame trotted through the streets of PonyVille, and couldn't wait to make friends. But for some reason there wasn't anypony around it seemed. She saw glimpses of them inside buildings, but none were outside. She continued on until she spotted a bright pink pony.
It was Pinkie Pie. DragonFlame smiled. Who could be better then Pinkie Pie? With her enthusiasm for meeting new ponies and making friends, DragonFlame was sure to have a new pony friend.
"Hello!" DragonFlame called out, and Pinkie Pie turned around. DragonFlame was shocked to see not a happy grin on Pinkie's face, but a look of annoyance.
"What do you want?" Pinkie snarled, "I'm busy."
"Busy with what?" DragonFlame asked.
"Ugh, with cupcakes of course!" Pinkie answered, "I need to gather ingredients! Making cupcakes is the worst! It's so boring! Now I need to hurry so I can finish sooner. Heeey, you don't look familiar. Are you new here?" she asked and DragonFlame nodded. "Thought so. Here's a word of advice, try everything you can to keep on everyony's good side you hear? You do not want to see their bad sides trust me. Their bad sides tend to show up often. Now if you excuse me, I have some cupcakes to make."
DragonFlame watched Pinkie leave.
"What was that about?" she muttered, "That was nothing like the Pinkie Pie from the show. What happened here, if anything?"
She continued along but barely saw any other pony. Whenever she did somepony, she would try to say hi but they ignored her. Something felt off, no, everything felt wrong. DragonFlame began to wonder if she really was in Equestria. The ponies were the same but none of them acted normal. Then she remembered the voice. It had asked for help. What did it need help with? And who did the voice belong to?
"I'm sure I'll find the answers eventually," she murmured, "and I hope eventually equals soon."
She then stopped watching where she was going, then soon after crashed into a pony.
"Hey! Watch where you're going! You've gotten me all dirty!"
DragonFlame got up and saw that the pony that she bumped into a very angry (and quite dirty) Rarity.
"You do that again, you little brat," she snarled, "and oh what trouble you'll be in! You do not, I repeat, DO NOT, get the beautiful and popular Rarity all dirty. And to repay me, I have some stuff for you to do in my boutique. Now come along."
"What? No!" DragonFlame replied, "I'm sorry for bumping into you, I really am! But I can't help you with your boutique! I-I have stuff to do!"
"Are you arguing with me now too?" Rarity asked and gave DragonFlame a fierce stare, "Oh no you don't! Let me put it this way you unappreciative Pegasus! Nopony argues with Rarity and gets away with it! Now, you come along to my boutique, or your face will be 20 feet in the mud! Do you understand!"
DragonFlame gulped, "Um, of course...I-I'm coming Rarity!"
DragonFlame then spent the next few hours at the boutique, cutting and sorting ribbons, doing the dishes, polishing sewing machines, and other things of that matter, all of which she hated to do and just wanted to get out of there.
"There, I think you've about done paying your debt," Rarity said to an exhausted DragonFlame, "You may go now."
DragonFlame hurriedly left the dress shop.
"So much for Pinkie's advice about staying on everypony's good side," she said to herself.
She looked up and saw that the sun was going down.
"Drat," she muttered, "I don't have anywhere to sleep tonight." Then her stomach rumbled, "and I haven't had the slightest bit to eat. Oh well..."
She went to the middle of town. There was a park with benches. She lay down on one of the benches. She would sleep there for now.
"Great, just great," she said, "First day in the land of my dreams, and I've sent the day in a dress shop and having to sleep on a bench. What kind of place is this?"
She looked up at the stars.
"Why am I here?" she asked them, "Why was I sent here? What is going on? Who or what needs my help?"
She paused as if she expected the stars to answer. When the didn't, she closed her eyes and fell into an uncomfortable sleep.
Chapter 4: An Event in the Night
"HEY! WAKE UP!"
DragonFlame startled awake. She looked around, it was still the middle of the night.
"Wha?" she said still half-asleep.
"What do you thing you're doing, sleeping on that bench?"
DragonFlame looked to where the voice was coming from. It was Mayor Mare, and like every other pony DragonFlame had met, looked angry.
"What do you mean?" she asked groggily.
"That is town property!" Mayor answered sharply, "I will not allow you to sleep on it! The park is closed also, so you shouldn't be even near here! Now go back to your home before I put you under arrest!"
"But I don't have a home," DragonFlame explained.
"Well that's not my problem is it?" the mayor replied. DragonFlame was about to respond when another voice interrupted her.
"What is going on here?"
Another pony walked into the scene, Princess Twilight Sparkle.
"Well...Princess," said the mayor, sounding disgusted, "this pony here was sleeping on town property when the park is clearly closed! She claims she's homeless but that's not an excuse! I was about to arrest her."
Twilight looked at DragonFlame, who was confused as to what was going on, she was still half-asleep.
"No need for that Mayor," said Twilight, "she'll be out of the park soon. She can stay at the library with me for now. Hey you! Come on, I have a spare bed you can sleep in."
DragonFlame sat there for a moment, then got up to follow Twilight. They walked past the mayor, who was scowling.
"Are you alright?" Twilight asked, and DragonFlame nodded, "good. Things can get messy here in Equestria, especially lately."
"I've noticed," DragonFlame muttered, "What happened here Twilight? Why is everypony rude here now?"
Twilight raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean by that? They have always been like this since Her Majesty Princess Celestia sent me to live here. Wait...how did you know my name was Twilight? I don't remember mentioning it, and you seem to be new here."
"I...uh..." DragonFlame tried to think of something to say, "Um, I, heard...er...other ponies talking...uh...about you. Yeah!" She gave a big smile, knowing that Twilight probably wouldn't fall for that lie.
"Uh huh," Twilight said, looking suspiciously at DragonFlame, "anyway, what is your name?"
"Ai-I mean, DragonFlame," DragonFlame said, almost using her human name.
"You seem to be hiding something DragonFlame," Twilight replied, "but never mind. I'm tired, I need to sleep. I have been up late."
"I'm quite tired too," DragonFlame agreed, "but Twilight, I still don't get why your friends are being rude."
"Friends?" Twilight asked, "I don't have any friends."
They had reached the library, Twilight opened the door and they walked in.
"You don't have friends?" DragonFlame gasped, "How does the Princess of Friendship not have friends?"
Twilight looked at her funny. "The Princess of Friendship? Where in all of Equestria would you of heard that? No, actually, I've been given the title of the Princess of Magic. Even though many say I'm not even a Princess at all. My wings were practically a result of a spell Princess Celestia was testing out."
They walked upstairs where there was a pair of beds. Twilight got in one and motioned for DragonFlame to get in the other. As she lay down, DragonFlame asked one more question.
"Hey Twilight?"
"Yes DragonFlame?"
"Would you like a friend?"
Twilight was silent for a moment, "I don't know. Maybe. Let's just get some rest."
And with that, the two ponies drifted off to sleep.
Chapter 5: Taking Flight
View Online
When DragonFlame awoke, she didn't want to. She was so comfortable. It felt like she was back at home.
"Maybe it was just a dream," she mumbled, but she knew it wasn't, she could still feel the wings upon her back.
Wings.
She sat up on her bed and opened her eyes. She knew what she was going to do today, she was going to teach herself how to fly! She was good at teaching herself things so she was sure she could handle it. She walked downstairs. Twilight was already awake and in the kitchen.
"Morning Twilight," DragonFlame greeted.
"Good morning," replied Twilight, "You hungry?"
"Starved," answered DragonFlame, and her stomach gave a load rumble in response.
"Well good thing I made breakfast then," Twilight said, "You like hay waffles?"
"Never tried them to be honest," replied DragonFlame, "but I'll have some."
Twilight levitated a plate of hay waffles to DragonFlame. DragonFlame took it and sat down on the table and looked at them. She liked waffles, but she had no idea what hay tasted like. Why would she? What kind of human ate hay? She shook those questions out of her mind, she wasn't human anymore, she had to adapt to pony culture. And one of the first ways to do that was to eat their food.
She went to try one, but realized that she had no clue how to pick it up to eat it. She couldn't exactly use a fork. She began to get mad at herself for not making her OC a Unicorn. Using her hooves, she tried to pick it up, and she fumbled with the waffle until she got an okay grip on it using both hooves. She looked up to find Twilight staring at her.
"What?" she asked.
"Oh nothing," was Twilights reply, "I just never had seen a pony eat like that before."
"Well how ponies normally eat then?" DragonFlame asked, trying not to sound dumb.
"Well I normally use my magic," explained Twilight, "but since you aren't a unicorn, you can't. But I've seen many ponies do it like this." She then demonstrated to scoop up a waffle with one hoof and took a bite. "See? Or you could just eat it off the plate, some ponies do that, but I think it's quite childish and messy."
"Okay," DragonFlame, and she put the waffle down and proceeded to scoop it up with her hoof just as Twilight had done. It was easy. She took a bite, and found it crunchy and dry, but tolerable. She finished her waffles and proceeded to walk out the door.
"Thanks for breakfast Twilight," she called, "I'm going out, see ya!"
"Okay bye," Twilight called back, "but be careful!"
Not bothering to answer, DragonFlame ran out the door and looked into the sky looking for another Pegasus (although she did keep an eye on the road, she did not want to bump into Rarity again) so she could see how they fly and she could copy.
Finally she found a grey Pegasus with a yellow mane (she remembered that her name was Ditzy Do, although many people called her Derpy Hooves), who was about to take off. DragonFlame stayed back, not wanting to be spotted by Ditzy. She watched how Ditzy angled her wings and DragonFlame mimicked her. She watched how the grey mare took off and DragonFlame did it also, but not putting any force into it so she would stay on the ground. She watched Ditzy fly before Ditzy flew out of sight.
"I can do this," murmured DragonFlame trying to be confident, although in reality she was shaking from head to hoof. She spread her wings, and took off. She angled her wing wrong and fell. She tried some more, and failed. Finally on like the 20th time she finally got it! She was flying! She tried hard to stay in the air, it was difficult to do so.
"Hey you!"
DragonFlame looked around, she saw nopony.
"Up here!"
She looked up, there sitting on a cloud, was no other than DragonFlame's favorite MLP character, Rainbow Dash.
"Oh, um hello!" called DragonFlame, and Rainbow Dash flew down. The wind from her descent made DragonFlame stumble in the air, more than she already at least.
"So I see you have a talent for flying," said Rainbow Dash.
"R-really?" DragonFlame asked. She was sure that her flying wasn't deserving of any compliments.
Rainbow laughed, "No, not really," she smirked, "a chicken could fly better than you. You're a full grown mare, yet you seem to have never have flown before! Hey, you and Scootaloo should be friends, neither of you can barely fly! Of course you seem to be able to actually get off the ground, but who cares. Anyway, catch ya later chicken!"
Rainbow Dash then flew around in circles around DragonFlame. The wind from it made it hard for DragonFlame to stay aloft. Rainbow went faster, and soon DragonFlame was unable to fly, and started falling to the ground, screaming.
SPLASH!
Groaning, DragonFlame sat up, all wet. She had fallen in the fountain at town square.
"Ha! Wet chicken!" she heard Rainbow Dash call. She watched Rainbow fly off, she was cackling at her own joke.
DragonFlame crawled out of the fountain shivering.
After drying off, she spent the rest of the day back at the library, all the while still wondering if this was really Equestria.
