...Wait, what?

Dear Sunbutt

Who knew Discord's worst enemy would be a piece of paper?

Love couldn't be put into words. It was a wordless thing. Holding hands meant I kind of like you, but don't want to admit it, hugs meant I really like you, and I'm not scared to show everyone, and a kiss meant I love you, and you are on par with my family as one of the most important ponies in my life. Love was an unspoken language, and in the back of his mind he knew that he was a fool to try and speak the unspoken.

But he was Discord! He could do what he wanted, when he wanted, and he was going to write this darn love letter if it was the last thing he did!

Dear Sunbutt, he wrote at the top. He stopped and thought for a minute. Or two. Or three. Why did he love Princess Celestia so much?

The Princess was everything he wasn't. Loved by all, a wonderful leader, a symbol of order in a land where half the time he didn't even need to try in order to stir up trouble. His polar opposite.

Even so...When no one was around, when there were no Court sessions or paperwork to fill out or bills to sign, when the royal mask was off, and she just let her mane down, she was beautiful. She was Celly, the pony he had known when they were young, when there wasn't anything to really worry about. Not the stiff upper lip Princess Celestia.

She was just as chaotic as he was. Even more so, in fact, simply because she was the only pony other than her sister who could reign him in. He knew what he wanted to say.

Dear Sunbutt,

First off, I can call you that if I want to. Secondly, I'm writing you this letter to tell you that I love you.

You're just as chaotic as I am, but you don't let anypony see that side of you. When the royal mask comes off, when there's nothing to do and nothing to worry about, you become Celly again, the pony I was friends with back before the being-sealed-in-stone thing. The pony I loved, and still do.

Princess Celestia is fun too. When necessary, you can be serious, and rein me in. And I see those little smiles when I pull pranks in Court. It's amazing how one pony can be so much fun and so serious and regal at the same time.

The thing I love the most about you? Even though you're an immortal sun goddess, you're still a complete doofus. This is kind of like what I mentioned before about your chaotic side. Behind the mask, behind the crown, behind Princess Celestia is a complete and utter doofus. And I adore you for it.

Yours,

"What are you writing?"

Discord jumped and turned around to see none other but the object of his affections.

"Something you can't see just yet." Discord scooted away from Princess Celestia.

Celestia smiled and snatched the piece of paper away from him with her golden magic. She read it carefully, smiling and laughing at parts. Eventually she gave the piece of paper back to Discord.

"You're a bigger doofus."

Discord grinned. "Sure, Your Royal Doofus."

Celestia smiled. "I have a few classic Disneigh films upstairs I'd love to share with you. You coming?"

"I'd be honored." Discord bowed deeply.

Together they headed into Celestia's room, which was more of a flat than a room. Television was a rare thing in Equestria, but being a princess had its perks. They settled down in front of the large device, which had a small stack of movies next to it, along with a large bag of popcorn.

"Can we watch something with explosions? Do you have anything with explosions?" Discord sifted through the pile.

Celestia gave a rather convincing apologetic smile. "Sorry. Only princess movies."

Discord gagged. "Lame."

Celestia picked up a movie that was apparently called Frozen, according to the box art. She dangled it in front of Discord's face. "Come on. This one has an ice queen."

Discord relented, and they popped the disc in. It was surprisingly good for a movie that didn't have explosions, and Celestia even started to sing along to one of the songs. Her singing voice was awfully pretty. Discord may or may not have started to cry near the end.

"Are you crying?" Celestia's smile contained barely concealed mirth.

"Something got in my eye, that's all." Discord dabbed at his eye with a freshly conjured tissue.

Celestia grinned. "Sure. Never knew the big bad Discord could cry."

"I'm not crying."

"You are totally crying." Celestia took some popcorn.

"Be quiet and watch the rest of the movie."

----

The movie ended, and they finished up the popcorn. Celestia prodded Discord. "Did you like it?"

"Okay, it was kind of cool." Discord rolled his eyes.

"One of my favorites. We should do this more often." Celestia mused.

"Next time I pick the movie. And you should get some movies with explosions. Explosions are cool. Remember those bottle rockets I summoned in Court that one time?" Discord smiled fondly.

"Yes, I remember. Upper Crust's expression was priceless."

"So, next time I pick the movie?"

"Deal." They shook appendages. Celestia took Discord in a hug. He returned it. They sat there hugging for a while.

"You know." Discord said quietly. "About my letter..."

"I know." Celestia murmured. "I adore you too, Discord."

Even her kisses combined chaos and order perfectly.
