Some are like our own...but for one or two significant events, exactly the same." -Lex Luthor ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PONYVILLE, TWILIGHT'S LIBRARY "SPIKE! Stay still!" Twilight was shouting at a young, purple dragon that was hiding from her. He popped his head out from behind the stairs. "Twilight, are you sure it'll work this time?" He asked. "Because last time you tried it on me, I nearly got disintegrated!" "Spike, don't worry about it." She replied in a reassuring tone. "I'll make sure I don't miss again. Now, hold out your claw for me." Spike sighed, and stepped out from behind the stairs. He nervously held out his right claw. "Now, I think I've got this spell down just right." Twilight said, as she focused her horn at his claw. She carefully began to charge it up, trying hard to keep it stable. The spell was getting more harder to contain, as the light around her horn grew bigger and brighter. "Umm, Twilight. I think we should stop now." Spike said. She didn't listen, however, and the spell fluctuated in brightness. "Twilight?!" Spike panicked. "Just...a bit...more!" Twilight struggled to keep the sCopybatable, causing Spike to be terrified. "Twilight! Please stop!" Finally, the spell was cast. The radiant beam of magic went straight towards Spike's claw. Spike yelped and covered his eyes with his other claw. When the spell impacted, a huge burst of blinding light flashed the entire room. Then, it was all over. Spike thought he had died, and gone to heaven. Slowly, he opened his eyes and saw an amazing sight. An orange, oval-shaped mini portal was open in his hand. It was swirling around, levitating over his palm with a small interface next to it. Twilight smiled as she saw the portal as well. "It worked..." She said. "IT WORKED!" Twilight started jumping in the air, as Spike scratched his head. "Uhh, what is this Twilight?" Twilight stopped jumping and looked back at Spike. "It's a spell I've been working on for a while." She explained. "It's called a `Dimension Vacuum'." "A what?" "A Dimension Vacuum." She repeated. Spike gave Twilight a confused look. Twilight sighed. "It's something I found in one of the old books at Canterlot. You see, a Dimension Vacuum works on the fact that alternate dimensions exist. It is a key tool to understanding more about the multiverse and the-" "Whoa whoa whoa," Spike interrupted. "Did you say, `alternate dimensions'?" "Yeah?" Twilight said. "That is so cool!" Spike squealed. "Just think, I could meet an alternate version of myself in this thing I'm holding in my palm!" He then inspected the portal. "It'll be a tight squeeze though." "No Spike, the Vacuum isn't meant for whole individuals. It's meant to take samples and research other universes." "Oh. Bummer." Spike said dejectedly. "What do you mean `bummer'?" Twilight asked. "Can't you see Spike? This is the biggest breakthrough in discovering new civilizations! Aren't you the least bit excited?" "Well, I really wanted to see what I looked like in another universe, but now...eh." Spike said, showing boredom. Twilight huffed angrily. "Well, at least keep your claw still while I take a few samples." Twilight walked up to the interface, browsing through the worlds. "It's amazing Spike! It has a record of most every world in here!" "Uh-huh." Spike said, uninterested. "So many Equestrias!" She exclaimed. "There's Equestria 63, which has a lot of male inhabitants. Equestria 97, which has no land, only water..." Twilight then saw something that made her curious. A red dot blinked on the far left corner of the interface. It was displaying the text "EARTHS" on it. "Earths"? Twilight asked herself. She pressed on the button, intrigued by the name. Suddenly, a vast collection of planets showed up on the interface. Twilight's eyes widened as the worlds each appeared in front of her. "Amazing..." She said to herself. "Apparently, we're not the only planet with alternate universes..." Spike's attention was caught again when Twilight mentioned another planet. "There's another planet? Like, aliens?" Spike asked. "I don't know Spike," Twilight said, as she went through the Earths. She then touched Earth 616. "But according to this summary, Earth is a planet that is home to another race called `humans'." "Humans?" Spike asked. "Like the ones Lyra always rambles about?" "I think so." Twilight confirmed. "Except this Earth appears to have...superheroes." Spike perked up. "Superheroes?! Like the Power Ponies?!" He asked excitedly. "Yes. And they have very strange names." Twilight answered. She went into observation mode. She saw a scene in a big city that resembled Manehatten. There were normal people walking, but a lone figure was crawling on a structure in the distance. She zoomed in on the individual. "One is dressed up in red and blue spandex and climbs up buildings. His real name is Peter Parker, but he calls himself, `Spider-Man'." She then flipped the view to a quite unusual scene. There, in a similar color scheme, sat a red and black spandex covered human, wearing a sombrero, shaking maracas with what appeared to be tacos on his dinner table. "This one's name is Wade Wilson, but he calls himself `Deadpool'. It says here he's a mercenary who has an amazing healing power and very messed up skin." Suddenly, the human looked at Twilight angrily. "I resent that!" The human said. Twilight was taken aback. How did this person know I was there? And how did he hear me? she thought to herself. "Look, we can go on and on about how this strange, yet dashingly handsome hunk acknowledges your presence, but I'm trying to have taco night, so if you don't mind?" It spoke again. Twilight snapped out of it. "Oh. Okay. Sorry." The figure gave a thumbs up, as she started exiting out of the Earth. "I do too know what `acknowledge' means." The human snapped at himself, before Twilight left. "Well, that was...different." "Tell me about it, those tacos looked good." Spike said. "Moving on," Twilight said. She then saw a very specific Earth. It was labeled `New Earth'. Twilight was intrigued. She pressed on the planet, hoping to find out more about this Earth. Suddenly, as she entered it's database, the portal started to glitch. It was growing unstable, showing glimpses of people clad in costumes, a human in a strange robotic suit, and visions of what Twilight perceived as gods. "Twilight, wh-what's happening?" Spike asked worriedly. The portal started fluctuating, as the images still flashed on. Twilight was entranced, paying no attention to Spike, who was panicking about the portal. "Twilight? Twilight?!" He yelled out. The glimpses still appeared, until it stopped on one image. It showed two individuals, both looking very similar, clashing together, making a shockwave. Both of them had the same symbol on their chests: A red "S". Then, the portal collapsed, and just vanished without any explosion or burst. Spike's claw was now holding nothing but air. Spike looked at his claw and wiggled his fingers. He sighed, relieved to have his whole hand with him. Twilight shook herself out of her trance. "Spike. Are you alright?" "Thankfully, yeah." Spike replied. "Strange how it didn't explode though." "The portal runs on dimensional energy. It probably collapsed due to a spike in the energy levels." Twilight frowned. "I didn't even get a chance to collect any samples. I should've stayed with the alternate Equestrias. The energy was stable then." "So now what?" Spike asked. "A discovery of this caliber needs to be shown to Princess Celestia. Maybe with her help, we can keep the Vacuum open for a little bit longer." Twilight replied. She then took out a scroll and handed it to Spike. "Spike, take a note." Spike nodded, and got his pen and ink ready. "Dear Princess Celestia..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ METROPOLIS Destruction. That's the only word able to describe the scene. Total, complete, destruction. The life that used to be in this enormous city, this kingdom of life and peace, vanished. The Daily Planet, the city's most reliable newspaper company, is no more. There is nothing left of the hallowed building, except for it's globe, bent and tarnished, but still there. The once glorious city, was now reduced to ashes, and everyone saw it playing over and over on the news. Images of smoking buildings, flashes of debris and bent metal everywhere. Film of a ghost town was being shown, as everyone gasped in horror. Some people cried, while others tried to be strong for their families. But there was one person who did something that no else did. That person was laughing. His laugh was loud, and echoed from across the hall of the interrogation room he was in. Each laugh was more manic than the last, like a taunt to mankind. No one in their right mind would ever laugh at an event like this. But as we all know, the Joker is definitely not right in his mind. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ INTERROGATION ROOM, METROPOLIS POLICE STATION Batman slammed Joker back into his chair. Joker was not giving him the answers he wanted, and he was running out of patience for the clown. "The nuke," Batman growled. "Where did you get it?" Joker smiled at Batman. "What? You want one?" He joked. Joker scoffed. "Copybat..." Batman knew he wasn't getting anywhere. He needed to know where Joker got the bomb. He reached over and grabbed Joker by his coat. Suddenly, the wall behind him exploded, letting in a wave of light. In the light, a single figure levitated in front of it. Joker chuckled, as the figure came in. It had a suit that was red and blue, and wore a red cape on its shoulders. It's chest bore a red "S" inside a diamond shape. Batman recognized its immediately as Superman. His eyes blazing red. "Get away from him." He commanded. Superman landed on the ground, and started walking towards the Joker. Batman looked at him. "I'm handling this." He tried to convince him. Superman, however, continued walking, unfazed, until he stood in front of the Joker. Joker rested on the table, looked at him and smiled, which made Superman more angry. Superman grabbed the table and threw it away from Joker. Then, he grabbed him by his coat and slammed him into a wall. "You drugged me!" Superman yelled in rage. "Made me kill-" Superman's anger turned into sorrow. "Lois...my son..." Joker just grinned. "First Krypton, now Metropolis. People you love tend to `blow up', don't they?" Superman's rage returned when Joker said that. He pulled back his fist, reeling to strike the Joker. "Superman! Don't!" Batman objected. Superman threw the punch right next to Joker's face, missing him entirely. When Joker saw this, he scoffed. "That's why I like you, Superman," Joker said. "You're much more gullible than..." Joker then glanced at Batman, and grinned at him. Superman decided he had heard enough, and threw him at the wall behind him. Joker slid down to the ground, slowly getting to the chair. "You think you can have a family..." He grunted. "That locking me up will magically reform me." He giggled, as he got his chair. "And they'll be safe." Joker smiled, and took a seat. "So big, so dumb." Joker crossed his leg and sat comfortably on the chair. "Now run along, so I can break out of here. I've got lots of planning to do to top this!" It was then that something inside Superman snapped. All these lives, including his son and wife's, was all just a game to Joker. Every single time they let the Joker live, he always got out and started taking more lives, all because of a code that allows them to. He always believed that he shouldn't need to make himself a god among the people of Metropolis, but being a servant to them killed them all. That's when Superman decided that enough was enough. The Joker's reign of terror is over. He grabbed the Joker by the throat, and raised him up. "That's enough!" Batman walked towards Superman. Superman, however, grabbed Batman and threw him to the entrance he made, glaring at him. "I know it's soon...but..." Joker started speaking, grabbing Superman's attention. "Think you'll... ever love again?" Joker grinned evilly. "Maybe you won't kill your next family." Superman couldn't contain his rage after that. Superman brought his fist back, and swung it at the Joker. The Joker gave one final crazed laugh, before he died from Superman's fatal blow. And with that, a new era has finally begun. > No one likes a third wheel > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ELSEWHERE The sound of gunfire broke into the battle. A multitude of green bullets, aiming for one yellow target. With ease, Sinestro avoided all of Green Lantern's constructs, then flew away. Green Lantern began to give chase, still firing his minigun construct at him. Sinestro continued to bob and weave from the bullets. Then, Sinestro turned to face him. Using his ring, he brought up a yellow spike trap to stop Green Lantern. It worked, forcing Green Lantern to stop in front of the trap. Sinestro smirked, and began flying away again. Green Lantern went around the trap, following Sinestro once more. Meanwhile, a blue-suited figure with a red cape was battling a god of war. Superman was fighting with Ares, trying to bring him down. He got close, and began a barrage of punches. Superman then put him in a headlock. However, Ares teleported away, forcing Superman to recover. When he did recover, he unleashed his heat vision on Ares. Ares brought up his sword to block the attack. It held, but not for long. The sword exploded, stunning Ares. Superman flew back to him, continuing the fight. With one mighty punch, Superman knocked Ares out, sending him down to a rooftop. There, Aquaman, the king of Atlantis, and Wonder Woman, the Queen of the Amazons, bound him up. Superman levitated next to them. "Wonder Woman. Aquaman. Let's wrap this up. I've got to get to the Watchtower." "Before Luthor throws something else at us..." Wonder Woman agreed. Suddenly, she was interrupted by a creature that landed hard right behind him. It roared at Superman, causing him to scowl. "Doomsday..." He said. Superman launched himself at Doomsday, but was then knocked aside by a single smack. "Should've been a combined assault." Wonder Woman said. "Clark sometimes forgets he can't do everything himself." Aquaman agreed. They then both launched themselves at the monster, ready for combat. With each electric punch, Black Adam was getting more annoyed. Shazam, the boy the wizard chose to replace him, was beating him at his own game. Adam launched a lucky punch of his own, temporarily deterring Shazam. However, Shazam quickly recovered, and responded with a furious punch to the face. Adam was stunned, giving Shazam a chance to attack him with lightning. The attack launched Adam backwards, then he was hit in the back by Hawkgirl and her mace. She then flew towards Doomsday, who just returned from a short skirmish with Superman. Doomsday grabbed Hawkgirl's mace, trying to disarm her. Suddenly, Doomsday's neck was cuffed by Green Lantern, who sent him flying back towards Wonder Woman, who punched him to the ground. Shazam saw that Doomsday was headed towards the ground and decided that this was his chance. He let go of Adam, who was still dazed, and shouted "SHAZAM!". He quickly moved out of the way, as the lightning bolt he summoned hit Adam instead. Adam yelled in pain, as his form changed to his normal self. Teth-Adam then began to fall with Doomsday. When he was just above the ground, an arrow burst beneath him, materializing a landing spot. Adam fell down safely, however, the same could not be said for Doomsday. A small crater developed around him when he reached the ground. Two figures showed up. One was green, wearing a hood and wielding a bow and arrow. The other was red and yellow, and had lightning coursing around him. It was Green Arrow and The Flash, just arriving by ground. "Green Arrow! What was that?" Flash asked. "Thunder of the gods, Flash." Green Arrow responded. "Thunder of the gods." "What does that make us?" Flash asked him. Suddenly, Doomsday slowly got back up, then roared at the two. He began charging towards them, but was then tackled by Superman. "The poor slobs who have to clean up the mess." Green Arrow responded. They then began to run towards the battle. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CANTERLOT At Canterlot, six ponies and a dragon were walking to the castle. "Ooh! This is so EXCITING!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed. "I can't wait to see what comes from Twilight's portal! I hope its a chimicherrychanga!" "Pinkie, the Dimension Vacuum is not meant to take food from different universes." Twilight explained. But Pinkie was already on a roll. "Ooh! Or maybe a cupcake, or a lollipop, or even a huge CAKE!" Pinkie licked her lips dreamily. "Interdimensional food is SO yummy." "I must say that this is an excellent opportunity Twilight." Rarity said. "Yeah! I've always wondered what the Wonderbolts looked like in a different universe." Rainbow Dash cut in. Twilight rolled her eyes. "I told you guys already, the Vacuum is only made for extracting samples for studying." Rainbow scoffed. "BORING. C'mon Twilight, where's the fun in studying things like plants and rocks from other dimensions when you can just go IN to other dimensions?" "Because we don't know what is behind the other side of that portal." Twilight responded. "For all we know, the inhabitants could be hostile, or worse. Trust me, collecting samples is much more safer." "Aw come on Twi." Rainbow whined. "What's the point of having all that power if you don't use it?" Twilight was about to answer, but then stopped. Rainbow did make a point. She's an alicorn now, which means she is now as powerful as the Princesses. Maybe there isn't anything wrong with using amazing power for personal use sometimes. Just then, Applejack's voice brought her out of her trance. "Now Rainbow," Applejack spoke. "Twilight knows what she is doing. Ah think she's right. It's probably safer this way." Rainbow crossed her front legs. "Okay..." She grumbled. "Well I, for one, cannot wait to help you with your samples Twilight." Rarity said. "Thanks Rarity." Twilight replied, smiling. "Just one thing," she asked nervously. "You wouldn't mind if we got some, you know, diamonds? I mean, it would definitely make a great sample to-" Twilight's glare prevented Rarity from finishing her sentence. "Never mind." "Can I help too Twilight?" Fluttershy timidly asked. "Sure Fluttershy! Of course you can help." Twilight told her. Fluttershy smiled, happy to help. Suddenly, the sound of a screaming dragon voice caught all their attention. It was Spike. "EVERYPONY! QUICK! THE CASTLE'S UNDER ATTACK!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WATCHTOWER Cyborg kept shooting at the villains, keeping them at bay. Nightwing was on the side, battling with Bane, while Raven deflected Luthor's attacks. Lex Luthor, along with Bane, Catwoman, and Solomon Grundy, were attacking the team, not letting up. "You're interrupting tonight's entertainment Raven." Lex spoke. "I detest violence Luthor," Raven replied. "But I'm even less fond of you." Lex launched his rockets towards her, but she teleported away. Meanwhile, Catwoman used her whip to grab Nightwing into battle, while Cyborg struggled with Grundy. Cyborg landed a jab, then prepared a powerful hit. Suddenly, Grundy slammed his fist into him, then threw him towards Nightwing. He landed hard, then brought out his arm cannon. "I thought you'd have this cleaned up by now." Nightwing said to him. "Name's Cyborg, not Miracle Worker." He grunted. Nightwing brought his hand to his communicater. "Nightwing to Batman, we could use some help here." After I check out Arkham. the voice responded. I need to make sure Luthor didn't bust him out. "He'll keep," Nightwing replied. "We're getting our butts handed to us." Be there soon Dick. the voice responded. Nightwing sighed, as he resumed his fight. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CANTERLOT The two magical beams met and matched in power. One was yellow, and bright. It was the color of the co-ruler of Equestria, Princess Celestia. The other was a sickly green, and glowing. This beam belonged to the Queen of the Changelings, Queen Chrysalis. They are engaged in a battle, one trying to trump the other. Meanwhile, the other ruler of Equestria, Princess Luna, was blasting crystals away from her, while a shadowy being laughed. It was King Sombra, who still had part of his horn missing. Sombra then began to surround Luna in a crystal trap. She tried to break the crystals, but they regenerated faster then they broke. Just as she was about to be trapped, the crystals exploded into a stream of confetti. Sombra was confused. Suddenly, Discord appeared in a chocolate rain cloud. He summoned one over King Sombra, enraging him. "This might be the first time that I am glad to see you Discord." Luna said. "Aww, no love for little ol' me?" Discord said playfully. Meanwhile, the magic beam exploded into a blast of light. When the light cleared, it was Celestia who was on top. Chrysalis, however, quickly recovered. "What are you and Sombra doing here Chrysalis? I thought you didn't work with anyone else." "I've learned not to underestimate others who stand in my way of feeding my subjects, Celestia." Chrysalis replied angrily. "And since Luna is now here with you, a partnership was needed to ensure your downfall." "We'll see about that!" Celestia shouted, as she charged at Chrysalis. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ARKHAM ASYLUM "We're keeping a close eye on him Batman," the guard said, as he walked with Batman to Joker's cell. "Just as you said." He fumbled for his keys. "He hasn't moved in hours." The guard got his key and was just about to open the door, when Batman stopped him. He pointed in front of the guard to a tripwire that the guard didn't see. "What in the hell?" The guard said. "What is that?" Batman reached into his belt and took out his freeze spray. He applied a layer of ice over the wire. He then broke the line with a soft chop. When they opened the door, they saw something very out of place: a bomb. By the looks of it, it looked like it could've been activated if the trip wire was pulled. Inside, a mannequin made to look like the Joker was in a seated position, covering his ears to muffle the sound of the expected explosion. "How'd Joker do this?" The guard asked. "He didn't." Batman told him. "The real trap..." Suddenly, Batman cloaked the guard and himself with his cape, as ninja stars bounced off of him. "...is behind us." Batman scowled, as a familiar mercenary showed himself. "You're so clever." The mercenary spoke. Batman charged at him, blocking the mercenary's sword with his cutters. He then kicked the mercenary, and threw his sword to the ground. The mercenary attempted to punch Batman, but he countered his punches with his own punches. He then tried to kick Batman, but Batman brought a series of kicks on him, then kicked him in the abdomen, casting the mercenary away. "You're Luthor's pet now Deathstroke?" Batman said. "His money's green." Deathstroke replied. "And, as a bonus," Deathstroke got ready to attack. "I get to kill Batman." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CANTERLOT The Elements stopped in front of the castle. From what they could see, it looked like something burst inside the throne room. "Alright! I'm going in!" Twilight said, taking flight. "You guys gather the Elements as quick as you can!" "I'm going with you!" Rainbow spoke. "Rainbow, it's very dangerous to face off against Chrysalis. You need to go and get the Elements." "Please, Danger is my middle name!" Rainbow bragged. Twilight frowned, then sighed. "Fine. But please be watchful for any attack. Anything can happen." "On it!" Rainbow declared. "We'll meet up as quick as we can Twilight!" Rarity told her. "Good. Now go." And with Twilight's command, the four ponies went to the Tree of Harmony to get their Elements. "Let's go Rainbow." Twilight told her. Rainbow nodded, and followed Twilight, as they flew towards the castle at top speed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ARKHAM ASYLUM Batman threw his batarangs at Deathstroke, who barely managed to block them. With this free chance, Batman used his grapnel hook to latch onto Deathstroke. Deathstroke, too dazed to block, was suddenly grabbed by the hook. Using the grapnel, Batman launched himself towards Deathstroke, and finished him with a flying kick. Deathstroke fell back, defeated by the Batman. "Sorry Deathstroke...No bonus for you." Batman said. He then turned to exit out of Arkham. He brought his hand up to his communicator. "Batman to Watchtower, come in." Batman heard nothing but static. He tried again. "Nightwing?" Still nothing. Batman scowled. He knew Luthor would jam the communication systems. He quickly exited out of the asylum to make his way to the Watchtower. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CANTERLOT The sounds of spells and battle ensued in the castle. Celestia locked horns with Chrysalis, then repelled her away with flare of light. Chrysalis brought up a magical shield, and covered herself up. She growled, and shot a beam of magic at Celestia. Meanwhile, Luna and Discord were working together to repel King Sombra's attacks. He roared in frustration, as the attacks he launched were easily blocked. "MUST...DEFEAT...YOU!" He growled at them. "Oh look! The pony CAN talk." Discord joked. "My, such an impressive range vocabulary this pony has." Sombra snarled at Discord's jeering. "SHUT UP!" He snapped at Discord, throwing a barrage of crystals at him. Discord chuckled, then snapped his fingers, turning Sombra's crystals into popcorn. Sombra was outraged by Discord, and was distracted enough to not see Luna blast him from the side. Sombra was launched a few feet away, but soon got back up. He winced at the pain on his side, then charged furiously at the two. Just then, two ponies from the sky entered through the gaping hole in the throne room ceiling. It was Princess Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. Twilight saw Celestia battling Chrysalis near her. "Princess Celestia!" Twilight yelled. Celestia looked back to see Twilight and her friend, Rainbow Dash, in the throne room with them. "Twilight! Thank goodness you're he-" Celestia was suddenly interrupted by a powerful blast of magic from behind her. She was knocked down to the ground, hurt by the attack. "Princess!" Twilight screamed. Behind Celestia, Chrysalis laughed maniacally. "Never keep your eye away from your enemy." She taunted. Twilight looked at the Queen in anger. "Queen Chrysalis," she said with venom in her words. "You dare attack Equestria? After your defeat?" Chrysalis smiled "But of course," she replied. "Equestria is filled with the love that I can have my changelings feed on. With Sombra's help, not only will I get to do that, but I also get to watch your teacher fall, as she finds out who is truly more superior." Twilight growled at her. "You won't get away with this." "Oh, but I already am my dear." Chrysalis replied smugly. "You're just in time for the grand finale." "Not if I can help it!" Rainbow proclaimed, as she flew straight at Chrysalis. "Rainbow, wait!" Twilight yelled. But it was too late. Rainbow had fallen for the trap. Out of nowhere, Rainbow was suddenly encased in a crystal cocoon, causing her to drop like a rock into the ground. Twilight turned to see King Sombra, grinning evilly over Rainbow's prison. Behind him, Luna and Discord were knocked out. Twilight stared at Chrysalis, ready for a fight. "Alright Chrysalis, you may have defeated two princesses, but there's still one princess left. And that's me." "I'm afraid you're quite wrong, Twilight." Chrysalis smiled. "There are actually now TWO princesses. And the other, both me and Sombra know very well." Twilight glared at Chrysalis. "You didn't..." Chrysalis smirked. "Let's just say, me and Sombra paid a little visit to the Crystal Empire to say hi to your sister in-law... And your handsome, young brother..." After she finished her sentence, a familiar pony appeared from behind her, and stood next to her. He had a vacant stare, and his eyes were a putrid green, showing that he was being controlled. Twilight recognized the white stallion anywhere. "Shining Armor!" She gasped. "Yes. Ever the observant one Twilight. You have always been very smart. Unfortunately, too smart." Chrysalis then smiled, as she brought a hoof to Shining Armor's chin. "That's why I had to send you to that mine when you caught on to my disguise." Twilight shuddered in sheer disgust and contempt at Chrysalis. Chrysalis smiled at Twilight. "Shining Armor, be a good dear and...capture Twilight Sparkle." She cooed. Shining Armor nodded his head. "Yes, my Queen." He replied, in a monotone voice. He then walked towards Twilight, and took a fighting stance. "We get to watch siblings fight. Now THIS is some entertainment." Chrysalis jeered. Twilight looked desperately at Shining Armor. "Shining, snap out of it!" She yelled at him. "She's got you under her spell again." Shining Armor paid no attention, as he shot a blast of magic at Twilight. She barely dodged it, as she looked back at him. His eyes were blank, and her plea had fallen on deaf ears. She sighed, then hesitantly took her stance. "I'm so sorry, big brother." Shining Armor then charged at her, as she began the fight with her B.B.B.F.F. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WATCHTOWER Bane was angered by Nightwing's counters. Nightwing used his attack batons to stun him. However, Bane gave him a lucky strike, and knocked Nightwing into the ground. Luthor smiled. "Now, if there are no further interruptions..." He began. Suddenly, he heard the sound of someone teleporting behind him. He turned and saw Batman, arriving just in time. "Took me almost two minutes to break your encryption." Batman said to him. "Nice work." Luthor looked back at the masked mercenary behind him. "Bane?" Luthor commanded. Bane walked past Luthor, as he made his way towards Batman. "He esperado mucho tiempo para esto" Bane said in his native language. "Now I break your back." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CANTERLOT Shining Armor threw an uppercut, which Twilight avoided easily. She realized that Shining Armor still has the same move set that he usually has, but Chrysalis's enchantment gave her one advantage. Shining Armor's movements are now more sluggish, and zombie-like. Using this to her advantage, Twilight waited until he threw another punch. Just as she hoped, Shining Armor swung again. This time, Twilight jumped up and over Shining Armor, dodging the attack. Shining Armor didn't realize his mistake until it was too late. Twilight landed right behind him, then kicked him in the head. Shining Armor grunted, as he fell to the ground. "You don't wanna fight me Shining Armor." Twilight said to him. "Please, break free from her spell!" Suddenly, Shining Armor's eyes turned from green to a familiar purple. He began to get back up, anger showing on his face. Twilight turned to see Sombra grinning evilly, as he took over Shining Armor. "You may have fooled him once, Twilight Sparkle," Chrysalis spoke. "But Sombra will guarantee you that that will NEVER happen again." This time, Shining Armor gave an enraged roar, as he charged at Twilight, this time faster than he was before. Twilight didn't have time to react, as Shining Armor launched her in the air with an uppercut, then blasted her to the ground with a shot of dark magic from his horn. Twilight landed hard on the ground. Had she'd not been an alicorn, she would've had broken bones right now. But even with her enhanced durability, she felt his attack very profoundly. Her body ached, as she slowly started to get back up. She coughed at the ground, then shakily got to her feet. That's when she noticed tears coming down her face. Twilight didn't want to do this. She absolutely did not want to be forced to fight her own brother. She wiped her eyes with her hoof, trying to focus on her battle. "Ooh! What's wrong?" Chrysalis sarcastically asked. "Is Twilight sad? Awwwwwww." Twilight stared at Chrysalis, hatred in her eyes. "You will pay dearly for this." She growled at her. Shining Armor charged once more at Twilight, as they fought once more. Twilight was blocking his attacks, but he somehow managed to sneak in a few lucky hits. Twilight looked desperate, as a bead of sweat rolled down the side of her head. C'mon girls, anytime now! she thought to herself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WATCHTOWER Bane stampeded towards Batman, attempting to run him over. Batman dodged his attack, jumping over Bane and gliding down to the ground. Batman then grabbed Bane, and put an explosive on his neck. Batman turned from Bane and covered himself with his cape. Bane frantically tried to get the mini-bomb off of his back, but it was too late. The bomb detonated, leaving Bane knocked out cold on the ground. After Bane was incapacitated, Batman turned back to Luthor. "Bane, Catwoman, Grundy..." Batman counted. "You're all alone, Luthor." Luthor smiled. "Geniuses often are." "Psychopaths like you-" Batman retorted "You hero types are all alike..." Luthor interrupted. "Even less imposing close up." Luthor then began to start marching towards Batman. The mechanical boots of his suit thudded with each step. Batman pulled out a batarang. "Time to teach you humility." Batman said, ready to fight. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CANTERLOT Shining Armor's rage grew more and more with each attack that Twilight successfully evaded. Twilight realized that the angrier he gets, the more unfocused he gets and his reaction time slows. With each duck, Twilight lands a few hits on Shining Armor, wearing him down. Eventually, Shining Armor missed an attack and stumbled to the ground. Seizing this opportunity, Twilight charged a powerful concussion spell, and aimed it at him. Before he could fully recover, she fired the spell, blasting him away. He hit the ground, unconscious. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WATCHTOWER Batman looked sternly at Luthor, who was sitting on the ground in defeat. "Try this on genius." Batman said to him. Batman brought out an EMP and placed it on Luthor's chest, deactivating the suit. Batman then brought his hand up to his communicator. "Superman, report." It's done. the voice responded. The others are mopping up. I'm taking Doomsday into deep space. "Make sure it's very deep space." Batman told him. Raven and Nightwing were ushering the rest of the villains through the portal. Suddenly, an alarm rang throughout the Watchtower. Catwoman took notice in the alarm. "What's that?" Catwoman asked. "It's the `None-of-your-damn-business' alarm" Cyborg replied harshly, as Nightwing pushed her into the portal. Cyborg then brought up a satellite view of the area of interest. The scene on the holographic image showed two individuals setting up what appeared to be a bomb in front of a Superman statue. "Radiological," Batman deduced. "Metropolis..." Luthor chuckled "I can see the headlines: `Justice League Fails. Clown Kills Millions'" Batman glared at Luthor. "You gave him a nuke?!" "Most of the League dies...And Superman's beloved city is vaporized." Luthor continued. "I console the masses by offering to rebuild it. In my own image of cour-" Suddenly, Luthor was knocked out, as a baton smacked him on the head. "He was done." Nightwing said, holding his baton. "This is Batman. Code Red. Everyone to these coordinates, now!" Batman ordered through his communicater. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ METROPOLIS "Let's see..." The Joker was examining the bomb in front of him. "Baldy said remember to..." He then pushed a button, which activated the device. Joker smiled. "Ah! There we are!" He exclaimed. The woman next to him clapped excitedly. "Mr. J! It works!" She was overcome with joy, celebrating over Joker's achievement. Suddenly, she heard the sound of a teleportation behind her. Her smile disappeared off her face, when she turned and saw who it was. "Uh-oh..." She said fearfully. "Back in the van, Harley," Joker spoke to her. "Bats and I have to talk." Harley frowned. "But puddin'!" She started. She couldn't finish her sentence, as the Joker slapped her, a scornful look on his face. "Go!" He ordered. Harley, caressing her cheek, dejectedly walked away. "No one likes a third wheel..." Joker huffed. He then turned to see Batman appearing in front of him. Joker smiled, holding the detonator in his hand. "Batman!" Joker said gleefully. "My couer des coeurs! My pomme de frites! I knew that ape Deathstroke couldn't kill you!" "Too bad for you." Batman growled. Then, Batman froze, as he realized what Joker was holding. "Why so jumpy?" Joker asked. "I merely took it off standby. It's this button you gotta worry about." Joker pointed at the detonator, grinning at Batman. Batman needed to devise a plan quickly, for if Joker pressed that button, a whole entire city would die. Batman needed to stall the Joker. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "There they are!" Wonder Woman shouted. She and Hawkgirl were flying towards the Joker. "Keep him talking Bruce..." She whispered to herself. Meanwhile, Shazam was flying with Green Lantern and Superman. Green Lantern was carrying Green Arrow and Aquaman in a green aura, while The Flash ran with them."Don't wait for us Barry. Go!" Green Lantern yelled at Flash. Flash looked up, and nodded, as he tore through the streets. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ METROPOLIS "You push that button and eight million die." Batman reminded the Joker. Joker grinned madly. "Eight million and two die." He corrected. "You see, I was going to enjoy the fireworks from a safe distance..." Joker explained. "But now that you're here, what say we have one last dance?" All time seemed to slow down, as Joker's thumb made its way towards the detonation button. Batman moved as fast as he could, hoping to stop the Joker. Meanwhile, Joker was in plain sight for the Flash, as he ran as fast as he could towards him. Then, something began to happen. Something that nobody expected. Wonder Woman was suddenly surrounded by a blue electric field. Hawkgirl took notice of the field around her, and had a confused look. The same happened for Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Green Arrow. Finally, everything stopped, as Batman and Joker were also encased in the mysterious field. Suddenly, a bright white light burst out, as the individuals who were touched by the strange electric field, disappeared. The heroes that were left were dumbfounded over what just happened. Where did everyone go?
