The flashback
BEEPBEEPBEEP!
My alarm woke me up. I reached over and turned it off. Soon my mother came up to my room.
“Come on Shadow Light, time for school.”
I opened my eyes to see a mare about four feet tall. Her blue eyes shined in the sun. She lightly laid a wing on me, her blue coat in a mess.
“I got your favorite food down stairs”
“Grr....Fine.” I sheepishly said getting out of my bed. “Mind getting out?”
“Hmm..Oh sorry.” She said. I notice her voice was a little weaker than usually.
Parents, Everypony hates them. I finally got out of my bed and headed to my bathroom. I walked in and grab my toothbrush. Unlike my parents I was a unicorn. I stopped right as soon as I open my mouth. I look closer into the mirror and stared at two little thing. my black coat and back necklace blended together. My green eyes looked sharp, almost soul stealing.
“Darn it why now?” I asked myself. “I can’t go to school like this!”
Those “things” I was talking about were fangs. I closed my mouth as I hear hoofsteps. My mouth watered, I was hungry, but for...blood
I walked out and saw nopony. “Must have been my dad.” I walked downstairs to the dining room.
“Hello Shadow,” my mother pointed to the pancakes on the table. “eat up now.”
I took a seat, but didn’t stay long. “I’m not hungry, I am just going to go.”
I hopped out the chair and left right as soon as I got my bag.
“Bye Shadow, have fun.” She called to me. That’s what she always said before I turned into this.
I walked maybe a good mile before I bumped into a friend.
“Hi Lightning, sorry.” He dropped his bag and I picked it up for him.
“Ah it’s ok,” he looked look over to my flank and smile. “You enjoying that mark?”
“Yea, you gave it to me..somehow.” It was about a year ago when this all started. I saw the whole night flash before me.

Lightning told me to head to the wood behind my house, why I don’t know. I walked for about a half hour before I spotted my pegasus friend. He looks strange, maybe sleepy I didn’t know.
“Hello Shadow.” His voice rang in my head, smooth and caring. I looked around trying to find anything, all I saw was trees.
“S-something wrong?” I looked in his eyes, bad mistake.
It felt like he was looking into my soul. His eyes shined their red color. “Dude are you ok?”
“Never felt better,” Lightning walked up to me, his eyes not leaving mines. “You know...you and me very different, you’re an unicorn and I’m a pegasus, but yet we all have ties.”
“W-what do you mean?” I couldn’t move, something was holding me. I tried lighting my horn, but nothing.
He walked closer, I tried moving, but couldn’t. “Easy,” he opened his mouth, there were two fangs. I felt fear enter my body. “You see there’s more to me, now lay down.”
“No...” I felt my body lay down, I was on my back shaking my head. “Please Lightning, please don’t!”
“Oh come on Shadow, it won’t hurt...much.” He bent down, I could feel his warm breath.
“No please don-” he bit down. I could feel his little fangs slip deeper into my neck, then he began to feed. I could feel the blood leave my body, but you think it would hurt. It didn’t. I don’t know how long he fed, but I soon passed out.
I woke up maybe two hours later to him still feeding. “Dang, slow eater.” I said to myself.
“Wait..HE’S FEEDING OFF ME!”, I looked around and soon back to him, his eyes were closed, but soon opened.
I reached a hoof up to push him off, but I had no energy. “Lightning please...I don’t want to die.”
He stopped and stood up, a bit of blood dripping from his fangs. “Now why would I kill my best friend?”
“B-but you just did!”, I yelled with all my energy. “My own friend just-”
“If I killed you, then why are you still here?” His voice softened. I could see his eye change color for a split second.  “You are now, one of me...”
“I can’t be no-” a sharp pain shoot through me. It felt like my heart stopped. My heart did just stop. “What’s happening?!” I yelled.
He smiles. “It’s taking effect. You’re already changing. You see, now you're immortal, like me, so you don’t need a heart.”
“I’m what?”
“Immortal and a vampony.” He smiled, I had so many questions.
“How long have you been one?” I kept getting weaker and weaker.
“About five years. I’ve been waiting for you.” He frowned, “I should’ve asked.”
“Yeah, you should’ve. Why didn’t you just tell me?!” I didn’t know if I blacked out or if something happened, but I woke up in my bedroom. Lightning was looking at me.
“Hello sleepy head.” He had a wide smiled, fangs showing.
“Grr...You will-” my belly rumbled stopping me. “Can you get me an apple or something?”
He shook his head and smiled. “Can’t.”
“Why?!”
“You’re a vampony, you need blood, but soon you will be able to eat normally again.” he smiled. I could tell he was thinking one thing.
“Wait. Nononononono! I am NOT feeding off of you!" I looked over to the window. It was open. I smiled.  “You carried me home, thanks.”
“Come on, it won’t hurt me. Besides, you need it or you’ll go mad for blood.” He moved over to me. “Just bite me.”
I laid there, looking at his neck. I could feel my mouth water, my mind kept telling me to bite his neck. He moved closer. I shook my head, I wasn’t about to be like my friend.
“Don’t fight it, trust me.” He smiled.
I gave in and reached up to his neck and bite down. The rush of blood caught me off guard. I could feel it on my fangs, all of my lost energy coming back to me. It felt amazing! It’s like I drank my favorite drink! I stopped and he stood back up. "One more question," I said.
“How do you walk in the sun?” The biggest question I had, for five years, was how he  had walked in the sun, if he is a vampony.
“It just burns a bit more. If I were you I would stay away from the sun for about a week.”
“But-” I tried getting a hold on him, but I was too sleepy.
“You’ll get used to it.” A black mist formed around him and then he was gone. All I saw was a wink.
I fell asleep. So much was going through my head, "Why?" Why, was my main question. "Why me, why now?" This was fucking high school, not just normal life.

“So, how long did it take for you to find the mark?” he smiled. My cutie mark was a drop of blood surrounded by my magic.
“About 3 days..my parents were a little worried, but that soon passed.” I looked up and spotted the high school. “Well, New Year, here we come.”
Being one of the only six unicorns in my school, it was kinda hard to get around. Everyday it was the same thing. I was a magic user, I was lazy, different things, but I just let them pass. I wasn’t a fighter.
We walked in, I looked around trying to find if the school’s bullies were anywhere. There were ponies of different size, color, and race. I didn’t even see one of the few unicorns. I don’t even think there’s one unicorn teacher.
“You know, I’ve been hungry.” I turned to face Lightning.
“Listen at lunch, we could head out to the woods, or find somepony, cause I need to show you something.” His eyes lit up.
I shook my head and kept walking and entered my new class: History. I loved history and one thing popped out, Discord. I don’t know what it was about him, but he just made History interesting. When he became good, he took up a job here as the new history teacher. Hella fun, everyday was never boring, always fun.

	“Ah, there’s my favorite student.” A voice called. I knew who it was.
“Hello Discord.” I looked around and soon found the spirit. He walked over and patted me on the head.
“So Shadow, ready to learn?” He smiled, that one fang hanging out. He walked over to the his desk and pulled out a sheet. “Here, I got this in my box.”
I took a sheet of paper from him and read it. “You’re joking right?”
“Does it look like I’m joking?” He looked at me for a minute.
“You’re the god of chaos, so it isn't my place to know.” I replied as I reread the paper. “So Twilight will be coming here to have her own class?”
Discord walked over and took the paper and begin to read it. “By the looks of things, yes. From what is says, you also have the privilege of being her first student.”
“Why? Why is she coming here? There are only six unicorns at this school anyways.” I asked, trying to make a point.
“Hell if I know. Now take a seat, class is about to begin.” I took a seat in the front of the room and waited for others to come in. I looked over my shoulder and saw no others unicorns.
“Well class, today I’m going to be teaching you about the great lycan war.” Discord said, snapping his claw.
"Whoa, where are we?” The scenery changed into a battle ground, looking like it was in the year of 1762. “Wait, did you take us back in time to view the war?”
Discord snickered. “Yes, that is the power of chaos. Now class, can you can see that one wolf?” Discord points to a wolf in decorated clothing, looking as though he had high ranking.
The whole class looked over and saw a grey wolf.
“His name is Seth Eclipse, the commanding leader.” Discord said. “Now, take notes on the battle.”
I started writing in my notebook, using my magic to hover my pen and scribble words down as the bloodbath continued. I could hear a few earth ponies start to talk about me. I went up and walked over to where Discord was standing. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he wanted to join into the chaos. The firing of shells caused the sky to light up in a bright luminous glow.
“Discord, don’t even think about it.” I could see him sigh. “I know you caused all of this.”
“Yea, it was fun.” he turned around. “Okay class let's go back.”
He snapped his claw and we appeared back in the class. The whole class was talking about the battle, but I was sitting at the door waiting for the bell. The bell soon sounded and I was off to my next class, Reading, the one class where nothing happens.
After that was lunch, and I went to find Lightning. “Hi Lightning!”
“Oh, hi, ready to eat Shadow?” He asked with a smile on his face.
“Yea, I know the rule, don’t kill and make sure they forget.” I stated walking to the woods behind the school.
I walked around and soon found a small mare. I followed her and soon jumped on her.
“AHHH!” She screamed, but before she could say anything I took a bite into her skin. I begin to drink and I kept telling her that I won’t kill her. Her blood tasted sweet, almost like candy. I could tell that she soon gave in and I drank even more. The bright stellar sun was blocked by the trees.
I sucked slowly and soon wiped her mind. I ran back to the school before the next bell. Being a unicorn, casting spells wasn’t too hard.
“Dang, she was good.” I said to myself as I entered my next class. I saw the one mare everyone wanted to talk to, Ms. Twilight Sparkle.
“Hello cla-” as she turned around, she saw I was the only one. “Where is everypony?”
I looked around, the late bell had already rang and the halls were empty. “Maybe they got switched?"
“Maybe, so, Shadow is it? I heard from Discord that you really like to do your schoolwork.” Twilight teased, trying to find a pen.
“Need a pen?” I asked.
She kept looking and finally gave in. “Please.”
I walked over, using my magic to give her the pen. She took it with her own magic, and started writing stuff down on a lined piece of paper.
“Thanks, so how much do you know about magic?” She asked, still writing stuff down.
I sighed loudly. “I don’t know that much, because both of my parents are pegasi. I never really knew that much.”
“Oh, poor thing. Must be hard and desolating.” Twilight said, grabbing a book from her bag. “Here, this is one of best spell books from Canterlot.”
I looked at her confused. “Why are you giving me this?”
She giggled a bit. “You’re the only one to come to my class, so why not give you this?"
“Uhm...” I was still confused. “My real question is, why this high school?”
“Well, young Shadow, this is the only high school near Canterlot and Ponyville.” Twilight said with a big smile on her face.
"That is very true" Idiot!, I screamed in my head. “So since I am the only one to show up, can I be your little prized student?”
She didn’t even face me. “I don’t think Celestia will be happy, but hey, I can still teach you.”
“Aweso-” The ringing of the bell to end the day stopped me.
I walked out into the labyrinth of halls. I forgot my books by default, because I had no homework.  I remember Lightning telling me that when I get home, to get straight on Steam. He said something about Pony Fortress 2, and how there will be key drops. I knew it was a fat lie.
I played PF2 so much, I knew most of the classes' weapons off the top of my head.
I got home right as Luna’s moon set and walked up to my room. I looked over to my clock: 11:28.
“Dang, what did I do?” I asked myself. “Right, that fucking time switch.”
I didn't even get on my computer. I went straight to bed. My head felt light, almost like I haven’t drank anything in a long time. I soon fell asleep thinking about tomorrow.

	The next morning I woke up and walked downstairs. There was a note, left by my mother.
"Dear Shadow, we will be gone all day, please be safe."
“Great, I have the whole day to myself after school.” I said aloud. I got ready and walked out to find Lightning waiting for me.
“Oh hello, Lightning.” I said smiling.
He was half asleep and woke with a jerk. “Ah! Oh you... hello.”
We began to walk and talk about different things, mostly school.
“Have you seen that pink mare?” He asked as he lifted off the ground a bit.
“Pinkie Pie?” That was the only pink mare I could think of.
“No, not her. The new student.” He said smiling.
I was confused as hell. “New student?”
“Yea, she looks hot.” He said, showing his fangs.
I shook my head as we saw the school. Lightning went his own way as I walked up to my teachers. Discord, Twilight, and some other pony. He was bluish. As I got closer I could make out what they were talking about.
“He’s a very good student, I am 100% sure you won’t have any problems, Night.” Discord said.
“Night?” I said out loud. They all turned, that was no normal pony.
“Ah, there’s my little student.” Discord said with a smile on his face.
“Uh hi, D-discord.” I said, starting to shiver. “W-who’s the unicorn?”
The unicorn started to chuckle. He had a tall horn and some type of a weird cutie mark.
“Why hello, Shadow.” The unicorn said. He held out a hoof for me to shake. “Name’s Night Wolfe.”
I shook his hoof, still shivering a bit. I noticed he had fangs, but was he a vampony? He was maybe taller than Luna.
“I see you have real pointy fangs.” I commented.
“Oh these? Heh. I got them from my mother.” Night said. He looked over to Discord and then Twilight.
“W-who’s your mother?” My voice was really shaky.
“Nightmare Moon, who is now Luna.” Discord spoke up.
I held my head. How could this happen? There’s no way. The ringing of the bell entered my head, snapping me back to the unicorn, spirit, and alicorn.
“Shouldn’t you be in the castle or something?” I asked Night, who chuckled a bit.
“I would if Celestia didn’t hate me.” He rubbed the back of his neck.
“Ok, so why are you here?” I looked over to Twilight, who was blushing. “Wait, you better, no.”
Night blushed a bit, but soon calmed down. “I’m the new magic teacher, I’ll be helping Twilight.”
Great, so one pony who has saved this land and now somepony who rules it, what more could I want! “Great. Anyways, glad to meet you.”
“Same to you.” He said, again smiling. “See you later.”
“Right.” I trotted off to history, where Discord was waiting for me.
“So, what do you think of Night?” He asked with more ponies coming in. I looked over and saw the new pony, her pink fur, pink eyes, and torn wings.
“Welcome class, today we have a new student.” Discord waved to the young mare. “ Come on now, it’s ok.”
She stayed still, looking away. Poor thing.
“Well anyways today....” I zoned out for most of the class. Nothing happened, really. I was just thinking about that unicorn. Something about him, just rubbed me the wrong way.
Anyways the rest of the day I kept bumping into that mare and at lunch I was talking with Lightning when he gave me a slip of paper.
“What’s this?” I looked at it, some type of address.
“Come here tonight, and bring your fangs.” He laughed a bit and then lunch was over.
I walked to my magic class and sure enough there was that unicorn and Twilight. Twilight entered as soon as the bell rang, but no Night.
“Where’s Night?” I asked, with a bit of crimson in my eyes. I was a bit hungry, but was able to hold off.
She giggled a bit and pointed to an unspecified behind me. I turned around and saw a black mist. My eyes widened.
“W-what’s that?!”, I screamed.
“Magic.” The mist stated, it was Night’s voice. “Power of darkness and chaos.”
The mist reformed into Night’s body. “Ah, yes.”
I calmed down, I think my dead heart jumped. “So that’s magic?”
Night laughed a bit. “Why yes, Shadow.”
The rest of the class Night and Twilight taught me a few new spells like the one Night used. After school I bumped into that same mare again. I ran into her, causing her to scream in pain. I hit her in the side.
“Oh Luna! Sorry.” I got up and laid her down to look at her wing. My mother was a doctor, but she never showed me how to heal a wing.
“Fuck, need Lightning, no, I can do this.” I saw a bit of blood in her wing, fighting the need to drink it I was able to get a bandage and fix it.
“There, sorry.” She was crying in pain still.
I laid beside her, trying to get her calm. “Shh, everything will be fine. The name’s Shadow.”
She soon stopped. “N-name’s Pinky...t-thanks.”
She has a caring voice, very smooth and soft. Her warm pink fur was like silk, the tips of her wings were ripped and torn. An hour passed and soon she got up and started on her way. I told her good bye, and after she followed suit I was off for that house Lightning told me about. I walked for about an hour and soon arrived.
The house wasn’t very big and I could hear ponies in there. Lightning soon opened the door.
“Hello, Shadow. I see you made it. Anyways, welcome.” He said smiling as he walked aside so I could get a look at all the ponies in the room. All different types.
“Uh..” I was speechless.
“Come on now...so many to meet.” Lightning said showing me in. There was a bowl of, wait, blood.
“Is that blood?” I asked looking at it.
He nodded smiling. He grabbed a cup and a spoon and poured some in the cup. I was looking at it the whole time, my mouth watering at the thought of the blood running down my throat. He handed me the drink and I looked at it.
“Go ahead, it’s ok.” He said getting himself a glass of the crimson liquid.
I took a drink of it, my eyes turned red. Lightning started to laugh.
“Ok ponies, the meeting is almost ready!” A voice called to everypony in the main room.
“Well Shadow, it’s time for you to see what being a vampony is all about.” Me and him walked to the new room that opened up and took a seat.
There were many different ponies. Unicorn, Earth, and Pegasus. There was a stage, one light showed there was a stand. Everypony got quiet and they looked up to the stand. A cloaked pony walked up to the stand and spoke,.
“Welcome everypony,” he had a dark tone in his voice. “We have a new pony in here, please stand.”
Lightning looked over to me and I stood, shaking a little.
“Please, tell us your name.”
“Uh... Shadow.” My voice was shaky.
“Thank you. Sorry my mother couldn’t be here tonight, she was busy with other things.” The pony said. “Now that we welcomed Shadow, let’s eat up.”
Everypony in the room cheered and we went back to the main room. I took a seat after getting another drink. I could here everypony around me talk about different things, many had drinks. I lied back and waited around, taking small sips from my drink. Night soon walked over to me and smiled.
“I see you are enjoying the blood.” He said.
“Very much, so rich.” I laughed. “You know, there’s something about you that I keeping thinking is wrong.”
“And what might that be-” There was a knock at the door. He walked over and opened it.
“Night? Oh yes, it is you.” It was mare’s voice. I looked over, my jaw dropped.
Luna was standing there talking to Night, almost like a mother to her son, maybe he wasn’t kidding. She walked in, nopony bowed at the princess. Why was that?
“Hello, Luna.” One of the ponies said.
“So, was everything ok?” Night asked Luna.
“Yep, just paperwork,” She looked down. “All day.”
I got another drink and looked over, she was coming this way. I started to hide, before Night called me out.
“Hi, Shadow, come meet my mother.”
It hit me, Night was here and now Luna. Oh sweet Celestia, my teacher was a vampony!
“Hello, Shadow, was it?” Luna asked.
I turned around, looking up at the lunar mare, she was shorter than Night.
“Yes, nice to meet you.” I was shaking like crazy.
I saw Night laugh behind her, she smiled. Two fangs were there, not only was Night one, but now Luna!
She grabbed a drink. “So, heard you were new to all of this.”
“Yes, your highness.” She cocked her head.
“No need, here we are all the same.” She took a sip of the drink and smiled.
“How many are there?” I asked, though frankly, I didn’t want to know.
“Counting Everypony in this room, maybe 50.” She looked over to everypony in the room. “Young Night here told me that you helped a poor mare.”
Oh great, now I’m being followed by a vampony. “Yes, I ran into her and helped her.”
She smiled and looked at her moon. “I think it’s time to call this party over, right Night?”
He turned back and waved to another pony who started to tell everypony to head home.
“See you later, Shadow." Lightning called to me. I started out before getting stopped, again.
“See me, before class.” Night said, before he started out.
“Yes, sir.”
When I got home there were two, very angry parents.
“Where were you?!” My mother screamed at me.
“I thought we told you not to be out at night!” My father yelled, and I think I heard glass break.
“I have the right mind to take that computer away, being out in this dark night.” My mother grabbed a drink of water. “Where were you?”
I thought for a minute, not know what to say. “I was not with my magic teacher.”
“WHAT?! Out with Twilight!” She dropped her drink.
“No, my new one, Night Wolfe.”
“Just go upstairs  and go to sleep.” I did what my father told me and fell asleep right as my head hit the pillow. Wait, I just thought of something. Wasn't Twilight an alicorn? Maybe she’s just hiding her wings, but I have to make sure to ask.

Chapter 4

I awoke to a loud noise outside my window. Sounded like a ball hitting the side of my house. I got up and looked out to see Lightning was trying to get me up. I opened and yelled to him.

“Can you stop!! Someponies are trying to sleep!!!”

He looked and smiled. “Well it’s like two o’clock.” 

“WHAT!!” I ran down stairs and out the door. “Well...atleast we don’t have school.” 

He nodded behind me, I turned and saw the new pony, Pinky.  She was walking into Twilight’s house and soon came out with a normal book.

“You know...she is pretty.” Lightning said.

“Yea, she’s very shy, but nice.” I said back. Her voice echoed in my head, that soft, caring voice. “I hope she is ok.”

I pointed to her torn wings, poor thing.

“Yea. So want to go for some food?” He asked looking back to me.

“Uh...normal or-” He stopped me.

“Normal, had too much yesterday.” He laughed as we began to walk. We walked into town, nothing was different, well unless you call a chaos god walking around with a pony different then yea. I think it was cute to see Fluttershy and Discord together.

We walked to a shop to get some candy, seeing Pinkie Pie in there. 

“All the candy in the world...ahhh.”  She started to drool.  

I grab my candy: A candy bar and some gummy bears. I paid with a few bits and walked out with Lightning sucking on a sucker. I was eating my candy bar when that pink mare appeared right in front of us.

“Gahhh!!” I feel over while Lightning got scared stiff. “How..what?”

She looked over to us, she was scared of something. 

“How did you do that?” Lightning asked looking at her.

I punched him in the back, I knew better then just come out like that. “It’s ok, we won’t tell.”

“I...I...” She looked down. Her eyes didn’t leave the ground for a very long time. “I...I’m a-a changeling.”

I was shocked, Lightning was breathing heavily. 

“A changeling...ok...that’s...new.” I knew what happen, but were there changelings hiding or was this one different?  “I...I see nothing wrong, you seem nice.”

“I am...I’m nothing like the others, hurt, poor, and scared now that somepony knows.”

“We won’t tell will we Lightning? Lightning?” I looked over to him passed out. “Well fuck. He’ll be fine, I’ll tell him everything.”

“T-thanks....I-” I stopped her.

“No need, but one thing has been bothering me, you know Twilight right?”

“Y-yes...I do.” she said shyly. 

“I won’t ask, I know you probably feel bad about what happen.” She smiles a bit.

“How...did you do that spell, you in that form, you have no horn?”

She pointed down to a pink necklace, hiding in her fur. “So nopony will know, I use this to cast spells, I can’t even remember my normal form.”

“Oh...that is really sad, but your wings?” I knew changelings were bugs, but that was no normal torn wing for a normal pony.

“Like I said, I’m stuck. I tore my wings while flying.” She looked back down. “I’m a monster...if anypony finds out I’m dead.”

She started to cry. She fell back on her haunches. I walked over and tried to get her to calm down. I tried everything I could think of, but nothing worked. When I looked back to Lightning he was gone. Well somepony will get a punch later. I was fixing to try a spell when I was stopped.

“Hello Shadow.”

I froze. “N-night....H-hi.”

He looked over to Pinky and walked over. He looked her in eyes. “Shhh..you’re no monster...ponies love you.”

His voice was caring and calm, it echoed in my head, even though he wasn’t speaking to me. She soon stopped and hugged him, like a foal to a mother or father.

“Shadow, I liked how you tried your best. It shows there’s a kind heart in you.” Night said, still in his calm voice. “Me, sadly...” 

He looked down. “My father...he’s different, you have seen my mother, but-”

I stopped him. “You want me to find out who your father is, so it will be easier on me, right?”

He smiled. “You are one smart unicorn, know please go have a good day, I’ll keep her safe.” 

I nodded and walked away, looking back every now and then.  Night’s father? Who?  Discord popped in my head.  Nah...he’s too kind to be his son. The rest of the day was ok, besides me having to explain things to Lightning. That was fun...not really. I was walking home and as I rounded the corner I saw Night talking to my parents.

As I got close my ears picked up on the conversation.

“He needs to be careful  going outside. I was almost attacked myself. Sometimes I hate these fangs.” Night stated before turning 180 and spotted me. “Ah, Shadow, get over here.”

I trotted over to him sliding between my parents. “Yes, what is it, Night?”

“There’s a group out. They’re after vamponies or anypony that has fangs. I was almost taken. My father helped me, so do be careful. Things are getting dark.” And with that he vanished into thin air.

“Shadow, you’re hiding something from us. Don’t lie.” My mother said looking down to me.

“I...I-” My father stopped me.

“Lets go inside first and sit down.” My father said as we all went inside. I took a seat on the opposite side of the room looking at my mother and father. “Now, Shadow, tell us. What are you hiding?”

I didn’t know how to put thing. I wasn’t going to tell them I was a vampony, hell no. “Well..” I opened my mouth, there were my fangs, hanging out.

“Are...these..f-fangs??” My mother asked looking at them more closely.

“I..I....I’ve had these..for hmm.. 2 years.” Huge lie, but I don’t want a wooden stake in my heart.

“I..I..what is there to say...” My mother was at a loss of words.

“UH....to let me go out at night.” Wait..what...why were their eyes spinning?

“Yes, Shadow, you may go out.” Their voices were flat. I turned toa  window and saw a certain god. 

I ran over to the window and opened it. I looked over to the tall seven foot god. “Stop right there...what were you doing?”

He chuckled. “What?” He snaked back over. “Oh...heheheh...say hello to chaos, Shadow. I know her personally.”

OK..I know he was the god of chaos, but everything ends bad with it. “Why..did you do that to my parents?”

“My son told me..hehehe...now I’m off!” He poofed away.

Son? When did Discord have a son? Wait....nah...he’s too fucking kind to be his son. 

“Son? You ok?” I hear my mother ask me.

“Uh..yea...I’m ok. I’m just going to sleep.” I ran upstairs. The moonlight in my room made it easy to see around as I grabbed a few books. Lets see...ah this chapter. I was looking in  a history book.

Hmmm. I didn’t want to talk out loud for I didn’t want my parents coming in. Nothing...damm...hmmm..wait..here. It was a picture of Nightmare fighting Celestia and under it was a caption.

At the night at which the moon was turn....there was the cry of a baby..a small colt.

“OK..so Night is Nightmare’s son and Luna’s. They are the same pony.” I covered my mouth at that. I took the right choice and throw the covers on, my parents didn’t come in, but I was sleepy as hell.

A loud bang at my door woke, almost falling out of my bed.

“Stupit! be careful!” I could hear my mother yell at somepony. “My son is still asleep.”

I thought about opening my door to see what was up, but I decided not to. I teleported out of my house and I saw Night and Twilight talking about something. Discord and Fluttershy were close behind. I could also see Night was carrying two sheaths for swords, both had swords in them, they were crossed on his back.

Twilight was talking about something when Night held his head down low, she saw this and laid a wing on his back. 

“She does have wings..knew it.” I said softly. I slowly walked up to them.

“Oh Night, it won’t be that bad.” Twilight said to Night. I got closer as Fluttershy spotted me.

“Oh...hi.” She said softly.  They all turned to me.

“H-hi.”

“Oh, Hello Shadow.” Twilight said laughing a bit.

“Oh..hi.” Night said, trying to smile.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, maybe I shouldn’t have.

He teleported away, leaving one of the swords. I looked at it, a name engraved in it: Night Wing. Twilight walked over and picked it up in her magic, flinching a bit.

“Twilight, what’s wrong?” I turned to see if the other two were there, but nope. 

“N-nothing...just..grr.” She put it on her back.

I knew something was up, I surrounded my magic around it and as soon as I did, my horn was burning.

“Gahh!” Twilight stopped me.

“Shadow, you okay?” She helped me up. “Need to be careful, these swords can burn off a normal unicorn’s horn.”

I looked at her confused. “You had trouble just holding on to them and you’re a alicorn.”

“Well, yes, but I was made a alicorn.” She smiles. “Just leave Night alone, my friend needs time alone, for now.”

She flew off, a blackish mist following her from the sword. I looked around, no pony in sight. I took a look at the town clock: 12:37.

“Great, everypony is at work, well most.” I said to no pony. i walked to the candy store, bumping into Pinkie Pie. 

“OH HI!” She yelled jumping around.

I smiled, the one pony I could always play pranks with, well that was back in the day. “Here for the candy, Pinkie?”

“Of course, what pony wouldn’t!” The canterlot candy store was always full. “Here.”

She dumped a hoof full of candy on me as I grabbed a sucker. she smiles as I took a lick, cherry. “Thanks, but I have to-” The shadow of Night walking by stopped me.

“Hi, Pinkie, any idea what’s up with him?” I turned back to her.

She smiled. “Oh dear...I forgot his birthday was close! I got to go get the party ready!!” She ran off.

“Well....great!” I said to myself as I started back home. Strangely I didn’t see Lightning anywhere. “Wonder where he is at.”

As I walked into my house my mother stopped me. “son, go get ready we are heading into town today.”

I sighed as walked upstairs as I started to get ready. I brushed my fur down, brushed my teeth, felt more like a school day. I soon finished and walked back down stairs as I heard Night knock at the door. I walked to it and opened, he was really mad at something.

“Shadow, whatever you do, don’t smile or anything tonight. The brothers are here with something that can find vamponies and it works.” He ran off before I could ask anything as my parents asked who was that.

I told then it was Night and we walked off, sure enough to the show Flim and Flam were showing. We stood not far from the others, Twilight, her friends, Night, Luna, and somepony who reminded me of Discord. 

“Hello! Everypony!” The two brothers started.  I looked over and saw Lightning with his parents. “We are here to sell the one thing that might save your life!”

There was talk among us. Many wondering what they were talking about, but Twilight and them had looks of fright. 

“Creatures of the horrid night. Out to drink and feed turning others into them!” The brothers turned and formed a spell causing boxes to appear. “Here..is our answer!”

“My night is not horrid.” I could hear Luna comment. 

I could see that their fright has changed to anger.

“Right here,” Flim showed the thing Night was talking about. A small compass like watch. “This little baby can find vamponies in any group.”

Night, Luna, Lightning, and I all knew what this meant. Flim put it on and scanned the room.

“Nothing, good. Now to show it works.” He pulled out a glass of blood and pointed the watch at it. A flash could be seen. “Vampony blood.”

“Lies!” We all turned to the brown- grayish pony with a twister cutie mark, it sounded like Discord. “As a trickster, I should know when somepony is lying!”

“And who you might be?” Flam asked.

“Who else?” The pony changed into the god of chaos, Discord. “Discord, master of chaos.”

The look of Flim’s and Flam’s were so funny. “What..ok..then...anyways come get you vampony watch and stay safe!”

Discord face changed to one of shock, Applejack’s of pure anger and the others shook their heads. Most of the vamponies started to talk about how this will change their lives. Luna and NIght begin to speak, but were cut off by a watch going off.

“AHHH! Vampony! HERE!!!” I think my ears bled after hearing that pony scream, Night even covered his ears.

“GET HER!” Both brothers screamed as two stallions jumped the poor mare.

“Well, that was easy, say brother?”

“Right.”

Night looked to the poor mare, helpless. “No....let her go!” He yelled to the two stallions.

“Night, calm down!” luna screamed at him, but it was too late. Night teleported to the ponies and drew one of his swords.

“Let...the pony go!” He point at the two stallions as the mare freed herself and ran.

“NIGHT! put the swords down!” Discord yelled across the room. “You need to chill!”

Night looked back to Discord and Luna. “Yes Sir...sorry.” He left out the door.

“What...just...happened?” I asked looking back to Luna.

“I don’t know, but something has gotten in that colt.” She said walking out the door behind him.

Discord soon followed after talking about the Summer Sun Festival and Night. 

“Why would Night have to be at the Summer Festival...well he is Luna’s son...so.“ I asked to myself as me and my parents walked out. When we got home I saw my window was opened. I walked up to my room and saw a note from Night.

Dear Shadow,

I saw you were hungry, so please do drink this blood and it is safe

Night Wolfe

I looked at the glass, it was blood, but it swirled with a black mixture. I popped the cap off and took a sip, my eyes widened at the taste. Something was off. 

“Night is a unicorn, so why is blood...so...strong?” I whispered to myself.

When a vampony drinks the blood of a unicorn they can taste the magic on their blood, but if it’s a unicorn vampony like me then our magic gets a bit stronger. Night’s magic taste stronger...with something I couldn’t put my hoof on. After finishing the drink I went to bed, today was a long day.


	

> Nightmares

	I woke up the next day sleepy as hell. I slept, but I don’t remember anything from that night. I slowly got out of bed and got ready for class, necklace, fur brushed, normal day. I tried teleporting out, but I was too sleepy. I walked to school almost passing out, but I made it to history. I walked in and took my seat, but my eyes failed me as when I sat down I fell straight asleep.

“SHADOW!! Shadow Light!” I jumped up as I looked around and found a very angry Discord.

“W-what happen?” I asked still half asleep.

“You fell asleep. It’s ok, but I don’t want it happening again. You didn’t miss much, just a video that’s it.” he said looking to the door. “Better get going, it’s already time for the last class of the day.”

“Wait....what!” I jumped up and ran out the door, but I only got to the class as the bell rang.

I walked through the door and sat down, but my eyes failed me again. I feel asleep.

“Shadow! wake up, come on now.” I heard somepony call to me. I opened my eyes to find Twilight. “Good...you fell asleep.”

“Again? Great.” I looked up to the clock, which looked broken. “What happen to the clock.”

“Discord...”

I looked around eyeing the fact that the place had gotten darker. Things just seemed dark, like somepony had took film and put it over my eyes. “Hi Twilight, why is it dark? Twilight??”

She was gone, something was very wrong. I got up and walked a bit before being stopped.

“Shadow, are you ok?” I turned to see what I thought was Night, but no...it was...Nightmare Moon.

“N-nightmare M-moon...W-what...b-but...you are...d-dead.” I tried backing up. 

“Heheheh..no young one...you can’t kill me that easy.” ‘He’ started to laugh evilly. It was Night’s voice, but Nightmare’s body. 

“No..nononono...this is not real!!!” I screamed into the darkness as I started to fall. I don’t know how long I fell, but I soon hit the ground. “Ow...that...hurt”

“Young one, the one you know is not what he seems...heheheh” Nightmare walked out into view, smiling.

“Nightmare...no...Mother” I hear a voice said.

Nightmare smiled as she turned behind her to see Night standing there. “Young Night, I see you came here to help me.” They locked eyes.

Night smiled as he took the spot beside Nightmare. “Hello Shadow.”

“N-night?” My voice was shaky. 

“Yes?” He tilted his head to the side.

“Young Night, are you ready to rule again?” Nightmare spoke up looking over to Night.

Night smiled. “But of course dear mother, but first...”

“But first what?” 

“Leave his dreams!” Night jumped up and spawned two swords. “I would never rule with you!”

“Fool, they can’t hurt me! I made them!” Nightmare laughed.

“Yes, you did, but I wield them now!” Night took one of the swords and held it up. “Night Wind, lets banish this nightmare!”

Night ran at Nightmare Moon as I stood back. Night swang his swords hitting Nightmare, who vanished to dust. The mist floated around Night, but stopped. He spawned a small white orb and the mist was sucked into it, turning the white orb black. 

“W-what was that?” I asked stepping forwards. I reached a hoof up to touch it, but Night stopped me.

“Touch it, and kiss good dreams goodbye. You need to wake up...wake up.” Night vanished. I closed my eyes and tried opening them, they were heavy. I could hear Night talking to Twilight.

“More, did she really get to that many ponies?” Night asked. I opened my eyes and saw him with the orb, holding it in front of Twilight.

“I don’t know, but she did do some damage.”

After Tirek’s defect, darkness overtook Luna again, turning her into the dark mare. I was young when it happened, I wondered out and soon ran into her. She talked about the night and darkness and left.

“Shadow, are you ok??” Twilight looked over to me as I sat up.

“F-fine....W-what happened?”

“Nightmare Moon, my mother.” Night said sitting down beside me. “You’re brave.”

“But wait...Luna changed seven years ago, how old are you?” I looked over to Night with a wondering look over it.

“He’s was born when Luna first turned Nightmare.” Twilight said spawning a book, same book I read the other night. 

“But...would that mean??” I looked back down.

“Yes, I’m older than Twilight and everypony here.” He said looking down.

“What does he mean?” I looked over to Twilight.

“Night is about 1016 years old.” She said flipping through the book.

My eyes widened at this, a unicorn living that long. 

“Yes, I am old, but I don’t that get in my way. When Nightmare Moon returned she casted spells on a few ponies...you were one, pure nightmares.” He started. “Nightmares that awoken when you drank my blood.”

“So...that black stuff was-”

“Darkness, it runs in my magic, soul, and blood.” Night horn lighted up with a black mist around it. “I was born on it, I control what I can.”

“So...what happens if you let it take over?” I saw a tear fall from his eye.

“What..happens...is...” He started to cry. “I turn into a monster...I was Nightmare's son so....I turn into her!” He screamed as he broke down in tears.

I backed up. That book said Night was Nightmare’s son, so those that mean that...Nightmare is Night and Night is Nightmare? “So...you are Nightmare Moon...but kind?”

“No, I was born with some of her powers, the darkness has tried to take me over, but have failed. Thanks to Luna.” Night pointed to the swords behind him. “These. These swords were hers. She made them to fight the light, but thanks to Twilight....she is no more.”

“Just doing my job.” Twilight grabbed a marker writing the date for tomorrow.

“So...whats with the swords...Twi had problems picking them up.” I walked over to them.

“Touch them as you’ll have pain for weeks.” I was starting to touch them, but shot my hoof back.

“They....burned my horn.” I pointed to my horn as I said that.

“Darkness will do that to a unicorn.” Night picked up the swords, not flinching or anything. “I can hold them cause I am made of darkness, Twilight had problems.”

“Yea, almost burned off my horn.” Twilight seemed to back away as Night grabbed them.

“Alicorns and Unicorns are weak to darkness...filled with light.” Night spawned a picture. “You see darkness is around, but most unicorns and alicorns can touch it or use it...But Nightmare got full power over it, being the son of her I got some powers...anyways are you hungry?”

My belly rumbled at the thought of eating. “Yea....I guess...but shouldn’t I be getting home?”

“Yea...you should, come I’ll take you home.” Night powered his horn and wave goodbye to Twi before we appeared outside my door. “Here you go and here.” He spawned a glass of normal blood. 

“Good night, don’t let the nightmare’s bite.” He teleported away. I looked at the glass, normal blood. I drank it down and went to sleep, it got late...fast.


> Summer Sun Festive

The next day thing went slow till lunch at school. I was sitting down when Lightning waved to me to come over. I finished eating and walked over to him. I was wondering what he was reaching for in his bag. 

“What are you doing?”

“Trying to find-ahha!” He pulled out two golden slips of paper.

I looked at them, plan slips of paper. “Point?”

“Point?! These are tickets to the Summer Sun Festive!” He jumped up doing a backflip in midair. 

“What!? You’re joking right?!” I looked at him with much disbelief in my eyes. “These are blank.”

“Use your magic, pick them up.” He looked to my horn. I tilted my head, but did it anyways.

As the slips of paper floated up writing started to appear on them. The writing read:

You have been invited to the Summer Sun Festive

“Wow...you were not joking.” I said looking at it.

“Do I every joke?” He smiled. He took one of the slips and put it back in his bag. “Don’t lose it, it will be fun trust me.”

I nodded and put it in my bag as lunch ended. I trotted over to my magic class and shockingly Night was no where to be found.

“Hello Twilight, any idea where Night is?”

She was working at her desk as she looked up. “Getting ready.”

“For what?” I put my bag down and walks over to her.

“Well, the Summer Sun Festive is right around the corner, and being Luna’s son. He has to help.” She said smiling.

“But don’t you have to help too?” I said grabbing a chair and pulling it up to her desk. “I mean you are Celestia’s student.”

She smiles and set some papers down. “I am helping, see.” She held up the papers which showed what types of food will be there and what to do at the festive.

“Neet, but are you not in the performance?” I asked taking the papers and reading them.

“Yes and so is Night.” She got up and walked over and read the paper from over my back. “Foods from all across Equestria will be there.”

I smiled. I always did like trying new foods, I heard griffon food was pretty good. I look it over and started to realize it was mostly foods Rarity would eat. I frowned. “No ‘good’ food.”

“Ah, it will be okay. I have a plan for teens.” She spawned another sheet of paper. “Here, read this.”

I looked at the paper and started to read it over, my frown turned upside down. “Thanks Twilight.”

“No problem. I knew colts and fillies would love this.” She giggled and walked back over behind her desk. “Mind doing something for me?”

“Umm...Sure I guess.” She lifted up a same box and handed it to me.

“What is it?” I took the box in my magic and was fixing to open it before getting stopped by her.

“Do not. I repeat, do not open the box.”

“Why?”

“Don’t and just give it to Night, okay?” She had a stern look on her face.

“Okay. I will not open the box.” I lifted my bag up and put the box in slowly.

She smiles and opened the door with her magic. “Go on now. Night should be around Canterlot, you can walk there right?”

“Yea about a mile or two, no problem.” I smiled heading to the door.

“Good. Now go on, he needs it ASAP.” She pushed me out and closed the door.

I turned and saw the door close and turned back. With this on my mind I started off. I was maybe half a mile to Canterlot before it started raining, chocolate. “DISCORD!!” I screamed into the sky.

“Oh what fun is a little chaos, my little vampony friend.” The tall creature stepped out from behind a few trees and smiled. I mumbled as I stepped under a tree to keep from getting sticky.

“What are you doing here and why are you following me?” I looked up at Discord and he craned his neck down.

“Heard you were carrying something to Night, so why not join you?” He said with a smirk.

“How did you know?” I cocked my head to the side.

“Silly pony. I know everything!” He laughed. He snapped his claw and the rain stopped.

“Thanks, cause I need to get moving.” I started back off. He stopped me and craned his neck in front of me.

“Why not use magic?”

“To far, my magic can’t go that far.”

“Well,” I saw him lift his claw and snap it causing us to appear next to a house. “being the god of chaos, you can do a lot.”

My mind was racing, teleport that far and fast takes a lot out of a pony, I didn’t even do the spell. “Wow, that was hard on me.”

“Yea, most ponies can’t take long range teleportation.” He smiles and gestured to the house. “Night should be in there. Tell him I said hi.”

Before I could say anything he poofed into thin air as I head hoofsteps come from the house. I slowly walked up to the door and knocked.

“Who the hell is it!!!” I heard Night scream from across the house.

“I-it’s Shadow....I got something from Twilight.” I was very frightened. “She wanted me to-” Before I could finish the door opened and Night was sitting at a desk.

“Very sorry, I’m trying to keep things together.” He said not even turning around to face me. “What ever you have please set down over on the table.”

I slowly walked in and looked for said table and sat the box down. “May I sit down?”

“I guess, just don’t fuck up anything.” He turned in his set and eyed the box, then turned back around. “Open that for me would you.”

I looked at the plain white box. “Twilight said not to open it.”

“Listen Shadow, just open it. Nothing bad will happen, I hope.” He mumbled the last bit.

I was slow on opening the box. As I reached for it I felt something was off, but picked it up in my hoof. I slowly opened it, Night’s necklace was in it.

“Oh, was that it?” He giggled. “Wondered where it was at, thanks Shadow.”

“No prob. I guess.” I smiled as I got a better look at the place. A normal looking house for a somewhat normal unicorn. A few pictures of Luna, him, and Discord? “Mind if I ask, but what’s with the Discord pictures?”

“Well you see-” A knocking at the door stopped him. “Who’s there?”

“Night...Twilight...Attacked...” Rainbow Dash bursted through the door. very sweaty and panting.

“When? Where?” Night jumped out of his seat and ran over to the panting Rainbow Dash as I stood up, trying to keep calm.

“I....found her....house...Spike...knocked out.” She said in between pants.

“Right, I’ll be over there in two seconds.” Night turned to look to me. “You’re coming too.”

“But..but-” Before I could say anything else and bright flash surround me and we soon appeared inside of Twilight’s home.

I looked over to a bed and saw Twilight asleep in it with the mane 6 and Night overlooking her as a small whimper came from her.

“Now, Twi, you'll be fine, we got Night and nurse Redheart is coming.” Applejack said.

“
Night slowly lifted her wing to show a deep cut, blood slowly dripping out of it. “Who did this to her?”

“S-sombra....” She spoke weakly.

“Sombra?? He’s dead...right?” I asked looking to Applejack.

“I...I..thought, we killed him right? How could he back?” Rainbow Dash asked looking over to the hurt alicorn.

“I...I, we did...” Twilight said as she yelped in pain from Night putting a bandage on the cut.

“So..So Sombra is not dead?” I asked. A dark vision started to creep into my head, pushing it away Luna seem to appear out of nowhere.

“Is she okay? Am I late?” She looked frantic.

As Celestia gave the news to Luna, she seem to look at Night with angry eyes. “Night?!”

Night didn’t even look at up at her, still trying to make sure Twilight was okay. “I did nothing...’they’ are no longer with him.”

“Who are ‘they’?” I asked stepping closer. 

“‘They’ are the ones you wish not to meet on a dark night.” I turned back to see...Lightning? Lightning was taller and his voice was a bit deeper, he was grown.

“L-light..is that...you?” I asked look up and down the gray furred pony.

“Yep, now how is she, Night?” Lightning pushed me aside and got close and stood beside Luna.

“Doing fine, she won’t be able to fly for a few weeks.”

“Weeks?” Celestia eyed Night. “Who will take her place?”

“I don’t know...right now let her rest.” Luna look to Lightning with the same eyes as she did with Night, I need to find out what they are talking about.

“What are you talking about who are ‘they’?” I asked looking to Lightning. “ And what’s up with you?”

“Me? I’m still your friend, don’t get me wrong. I..I just need to watch you.” 

“Wh-why? There is nothing wrong with me...I’m normal...besides being a vampony.”

“For some odd reason...I would hope so. Sadly no. There’s something more to you.” Night spoke up looking to me. “Remember when Sombra almost destroy the Crystal Empire?”

“Y-yea...why?” I recalled to me and my parents visiting there for a family get together, then all hell broke lose. “Why do you ask?”

“Sombra....He must of done something to you.” Celestia turned. “You’ve been around him....more than you think.”

“What do you mean...I do remember him laughing at me and leaving...and then finding my parents and leaving.” 

“He just stood there? Laughing?” Lightning eyed me, a worried look over his face.

“He...He did pick me up with magic and whispered something to me...that’s it.”

“Any idea what he said?” Luna asked as she got water for Twilight.

“I...I...something about how your life will change..on one night.”

“That night must have been when I bit you.” Lightning said giving the water to Celestia.

“Thanks.” She smiles “Night, I don’t care what you say, make sure ‘they’ are okay.”

That’s it! I felt anger flow through my magic.“Who are ‘they’?!”

“Shadow, calm down..” Night said.

I looked at him as I felt my magic fade out and my mind went blank for a second. “What...happened?”

“You sorta snapped, it’s alright.” I heard Luna say in a calm voice. “The ‘they’ we speak of are-”

“The Shadowbolt.” Celestia cutted in, I could hear a bit of anger in her voice.

“When Nightmare Moon was defected, they didn’t leave. They feed off what nightmares there were and Sombra took them under his command.” Night looked down, he was hiding something.

“Where are you going with this?” I raised an eyebrow.

“Who do you think leads them now?” Lightning said going over to Night and laying a wing on him.

“I’m sick of all this, I told you not to lead them! It’s been at least a year and nothing but trouble has come out of them.” Celestia raised her voice to the group. “Vamponies, Shadowbolts, and now...Sombra! What’s next Discord?”  

Maybe she shouldn’t have said Discord cause the next thing we knew was Discord running into the house and a angry mob outside. 

“I spoke too soon.” Celestia said running to lock the door. “The hell you do this time Discord.”

“Nothing!! One second I’m walking with Fluttershy and then this!” He hurried to close all the windows. “Something is going on and I don’t like it.”

I rushed to help Discord while Night took a peep outside. I walked over to look and almost everypony in Ponyville was outside. Most of them were screaming and yelling others had torches. “Oh this is not good.”

“WHERE’S THE VAMPONIES!!!”

“NO MORE CHAOS!!!”

“Lightning, make sure all the doors are locked and call the others.” Twilight weakly said.

“What others....they are....Discord, where is Fluttershy.” Applejack said pushing the door closed. 

“Ummm....oh right.” He opened his claw hand a small Fluttershy could be seen shivering in fear.

“Is it safe?” She asked opening one her eyes.

“Very, now Discord return her to normal size.” Luna said walking over and looking at the small mare while Discord turned her back.

“There you go, go talk with the others you too Shadow, us big ponies have to talk.” Luna turned to me and waved me and Fluttershy off.

I walked over as a door closed. I took a seat with the others as they started to get in fright. “What about our sisters?!” Rainbow, AJ, and Rarity all of them screamed.

“Rainbow....Scoots is not-” I was cut off as she dash through the door.

After some yelling and a flash the CMC were standing in the room scared. “They were going to kill us!”

After Rainbow dashed back in and calmed everypony down we could make out chatter from the other room.

“What do you mean you can do nothing you’re the fucking ruler!” Night screamed.

“I am yes, but look!” Celestia opened the blinds as we could make out about half of the guards from the castle were there, even a few of Luna’s.

“Great,” She rolled her eyes. “We’re doomed.”

“Maybe not,” Night said grabbing a map from a chest. “My house is set far in the EverFree we can live there...it won’t be big enough, but it could work for a bit.”

“But what about my parents?!” I ran into the room, a tear almost falling, I was not about to leave my parents.

Celestia grabbed me. “Shadow listen, your own parents are out there.”

“What? No....it can’t be...” I ran to the window and opened the blinds and sure enough there they were...running the mob. “No...my parents...”

Night stood over me. “They don’t want a monster, don’t worry. We are all monsters.”

“Night is right. We all have a monster inside us. Nightmare Moon is my monster. LIghtning’s is going pure crazy from the lost of his parents. We all have a monster in us, even you do, Shadow.” Luna spoke, her voice was very calm. A tear almost falling for her blue face. 

“I’m not a monster, this wouldn’t even have happened if Lightning didn’t bite me!”

	“We got bigger problems then why, Light bit you.” Luna said as Applejack butted in.

“What about our sisters....and families!” Aj was right, I had parents...but...I don’t think they want me anymore.

“Applejack, please calm down. I can send guards to get them.” Celestia replied looking up to Luna. “Get your son...he knows more about dark magic.”

“I do not!” Night screamed looking at Celestia with angry eyes. “You know I sometimes wonder why Nightmare didn’t just kill you!”

“Night Wolfe! How dare you say that to my sister!” Luna turned to her son as I backed up from the group. “You know I...”

I covered my ears and walked away. I sat down next to spike who looked like he was crying more. “Hi, it’s okay. They can fix this.”

“I...I hope so...I loved Twilight.” Spike rubbed his claws together.

I watch the young dragon as a bright flash came from the other room where Celestia and the other were. A happy sigh came from the room as Applejack came out with the CMC. They smiled as they hug their sisters or...model.

I smiled, I remember back to when I could see them try some funny stuff. They looked over to me and Spike and smiled. 

“Hi, Shadow Light, is it?” Scootaloo asked. 

“Yea...why do you ask?” I asked eyeing up to her.

Scootaloo smiled and sat down beside Spike and Applebloom and Sweetie Bell sat next to me.

“Ummm...”

“Okay, so your house it is then...there will be plenty of beds, right?” Luna and the others walked out of the room with Discord carrying Twilight in his arms.

“So what are we doing?” Rarity asked. 

“We are moving.” Celestia said with a stern voice and looked to the CMC. “You three will sleep with Shadow.”

“What!” The CMC exclaimed at the same time.

“Shut up and lets go.” Celestia powered her horn as everypony in the group was teleported out. 

We reappeared on a couch with the mane 6 in chairs around Twilight. Discord and Celestia were sitting with Luna pacing back and forth. 

“Look who’s awake.” Sweetie Bell said looking over me. “You took a hard fall.

“W-what...do you mean?” I asked as my head pounded from a headache.

“The teleportation spell screwed up.” Celestia said walking over after getting up. “Are you okay?”

“Just a headache is all.” I stood up and sat down in a couch.

The CMC sat next to me...again. “Tell us about being a vampony!” They all said.

I was caught off guard and looked at Night. He nodded slightly and looked back to Luna. She whispered something to him and walked off to a different room. I looked back to the CMC who were still looking at me.

“Please.” Scootaloo had big puppy eyes.

“I...I don’t know what to say...okay.” I got up and walked off to find Luna. I kept walking as I could hear the CMC talk to Lightning as I heard a crash from a room. I sneaked to the room and opened the door slightly.

I peeked my head in to find Luna next to a fireplace. I kept looking around the room and found a sword in a corner and she was sitting there drinking...blood. I looked further in as something tapped my back. I turned and fell into the room.

“N-night...I...I.” I stopped as he spoke.

“Mother.” He bowed his head. “Twilight is doing much better.”

“Very good. Your mother has missed you.” Luna said, looking around as I rushed out. I put my ear up to it and listened closely. 

“She can’t be here, not with Celestia begin here and all. Besides she would block the spell.” Night said, sounding a bit sad and worried.

“It’s okay. she’s been wanting to ask how is everyone.” Luna said.

“I don’t know. It’s risky.” Night said. I looked under the door as Luna laided a wing on Night. 

“Just let me cast the spell.” she powered her horn and walked in front of Night. Night stood there as his eyes widened as he looked up to Luna.

I rubbed my eyes as Luna turned into Nightmare. I fell back into the hall. Scared out of my mind. I opened the door again as I look towards the group. Celestia has seemed to fall asleep so has Discord.

“How’s Discord?” Nightmare asked.

Thoughts ran through my head. How does she know, why does she want to know, and why would you even ask?

Nightmare looked at Night who seemed to smile wide. 

“He’s...okay. I guess.” Night said as he look to the door. “Knew it. Can’t keep your horn out of anything can you.”

I looked back and tried to scream, but nothing came out. He pulled me in with his magic as I tried to run. The door was shut and locked.

“Who is he?” Nightmare looked at me and locked eyes. 

“A friend...or I would hope so. Shadow, explain why you were looking in.” Night didn’t even look at me.

“I..I...I was wondering what you were doing. Got to remember I’m just 15!” I tried to break free, but to no use.

“So...Shadow, is it? That’s a nice name...hehehe.” Nightmare giggled as I looked away. “Aww...what’s wrong? Do I bring fear to you?”

“You’re fake...just magic is all.”

She laughed as my mind went blank. I awoke as I stood up Discord pointed to me.  

“He’s awake.”

My head pounded as anything before looking in the room everything was gone. “Ow.”

The thought of Nightmare being around us scared me to the point I think my heart started to bet. I noticed that we...were...at my house in a  flash. 

“Get your stuff.” Discord said pointing to my door.

“W-why...” I asked looking up at my house as my parents came to the door. The had red all across their faces.

“Get that monster off our- Discord?!” They both started.

I felt my heart drop...they...hate...me. I’m no longer their son...I’m a monster to them. My own parents hate me. I walked in as two guards watched. I went up to my room as I looked around. Mostly everything was packed. I was looking through things when I found a old dusty book.

“Everything okay ,Sir?” The guard asked walking in.

I nodded and put the book in a box and closed it. I walked out as my parents slammed the door behind me and the guard. I tear rolled down my face as Discord looked at the guard. “Time to go.”





I walked up to the castle and looked it up and down. Two ponies stood outside and spawns spears.

“Name!” One of them screamed.

“S-shadow Light...I have come to live here for a small time.” I trembled in fear.

Twilight walked out and smiled at me. “At easy guards...he’s cool.”

I looked up as the guards smiled as they apologized. I walked up the stairs and meet Twilight at the door. She showed me inside as she pointed to the stairs. “Your room is upstairs...can’t miss it.”
I nodded and walked up the stairs. I kept looking down and back. The thought of my parents still floated around in my head as I reached the door. I opened and walked in, it wasn’t very big, I was happy with it. I started to put my stuff away into the closet and looked out the window. 

I saw Luna and Celestia walking to the steps. I tilted my head, wondering what they are doing here. I sat on my bed and just relaxed back, trying to forget about my parents. After a few minutes I heard hoofsteps coming towards my room.

“Shadow?” The voice was calm and sweet. “May I come in, it’s me, Luna.”	

I opened the door with my magic. “yes, Princess?”

“Sorry what happened earlier at the house. Night needed to speak to...well...my other half.” She looked down with a frown.

“I...ummm...well...” I was at a lost as I heard Twilight call up.

“DINNER!!!”

“Can we talk about this later?” She asked.

I nodded as I got off the bed and walked to the stairs. Slowly walking down I could see Night slip into a different room. I paid it no real mind and walked to the dining hall. I walked in and took a seat.

“Welcome young, Shadow.” Celestia said with a smile.

I said nothing, but looked around. She tilted her head as hay burgers came out and served to us. I slowly took a bite and smiled. Everything was... Silent as I ate.

“So, Shadow, ready to go to school... again?” Celestia spoke up.

“S-school? I...well, sure,” I was thinking about what will ponies think when I go back. “But what about..well my fangs and what happened.”

“I’ll handle that, Shadow. You just need to study and work hard.” Celestia said with a smile.

I looked over to Lightning who smiled. “I’ll be there to.” 

I finished dinner happy and smiling. I walked up to my room and took a seat on my bed. The thought of having some friends still with me, made my dead heart warm. I laid on the bed and starts to drift asleep. I awoke not to long later, somewhere in my head it felt like, somepony or thing was watching me.

I got out of the bed and walked to the window of my room. Pushing the blinds aside I opened the window up and looked out. I looked to both sides as Luna’s moon gave me a little light. “Who’s there?”

A few minutes passed as I closed the window to turn and see a shadow fly across the wall. I backed up, bumping into the window.

“Sins of the parents pass to the kids...” A voice said as the shadow formed into a mist. “A small colt with no family now...reminds me of myself.”

I tried to scream, but nothing came out. “N-night?”

“That fool? No, I’m about ten times ‘better’” The mist said.

“Please...don’t hurt me....I...I won’t tell anypony.”

The mist got closer and stopped. It seemed to look back at the door. I could feel a very dark magic coming off of it.

The mist surrounded me and slowly grabbed my hooves. Fear took over my whole body as I felt my horn light up as the mist returned to where it was before.

“Grrr...who knew you still knew that magic. Thought you would forget.”

“Who are you...please...tell me!”

“A few words to take hold of. Sins of the parents pass to the kid.” The mist started to vanishes as I heard hoofsteps come up. “Night is not the pony you think.”

“W-what...do you mean?” The mist vanished.

“Shadow, who are you talking to?” Discord opened the door.

I looked up at the chaos lord as Night also came up. “Hmmm...Shadow?”

I backed uped. Maybe the mist was right. “S-stay away.”

“Shadow, what’s wrong?” Night stepped closer.

“I..I...you’re hiding something from me.”

“I hide nothing from you-”

I looked across his body to his midsection. I took a deep breath. I looked back up to his horn then back again. 

“N-night....your wings are showing.” Discord pointed out as he looked at me.

“Shadow, I can ex-”

“You lied to me...and who knows how many. Celestia must know!” I teleported out of the castle. I ran as fast as I could before I stopped to catch my breath. “Night....alicorn....truth.”

I started off again. I soon ran out of breath and looked behind myself, empty. I kepted running as I reached the castle and ran past a guard. The guard started after me, I paid no mind.

A guard pony stepped in front of me as I fell over. I rubbed my head as I was grabbed by magic, the aura blue.

“Dear, Shadow, what brings you here?” Luna said as she walked into my view.

“NIght..alicorn...must tell-”

“Shadow, you can’t take a joke.” Night walked up and held up the wings: fake...fake wings. “I’m not an alicorn.”

Luna let me go as I land softly. I looked them over and frowned. “B-but...I..I-”

“Shadow, you need sleep. You are still haunted by your parents.” Luna said as she got closer. “You can sleep in my room, I’ll watch over your dreams.”

“I..I...” Sleep started to take over as I felt my eyes become heavy and I soon felt soft hooves pick me up. I was soon in a bed, calming music playing from a radio. I rolled over and covered myself.

A cold wind blew into the room and I shivered lightly. Dreams started to wrap around me. I awoke to yelling and screaming, one Night, and the other Discord. I jumped out of the bed and ran to the door, pressing my ear against it.

“I told you to be careful!” Discord yelled, his tone very hot.

“It’s not my fault your spells are weak!” Night screamed back.

“My spell? You’re the one who casted it!”

I backed off from the door. The hell are they talking about? I looked up at a clock on the wall: 11:30 am. I went back to the door and tried to listen, but it was silent. I slowly opened the door to have Angel Bunny hit me in the face. “Ow.”

“Sorry, Shadow.” Discord said as he looked back to Night. “Fluttershy will be mad.”

“You’re the one who threw him!” Night yelled back. 

I started back in the room before Luna grabbed me. “Shadow, run.”

“Wh-why?” I looked up to her as she teleported me away. I land outside s I looked up as a dark blast came from one of the windows. I teleported back up as I faced Night, who had his horn lit.

“I remember when you broke out...you left me in a cell!” A dark blast escaped his horn, aimed at Discord, but I was in the way. The blast hit me as I was launched back. I land on the cold floor, still awake, but in pain.

“You and Nightmare meet in Limbo...I wish you stayed there!” Night's eyes glowed green. 

“HI! I had no control over myself!” Luna scream running over to help me.

“Wait...what?” I asked as she lifted me up. I noted something, Night's eyes were off, a hint of purple.

“You turned on Twilight and her friends, you are cheating on Luna. I’m really wondering why I haven’t killed you!”

“OH silly pony. You can’t kill me.” Discord laughed.

“Am I just a pony to you, father?”

My eyes widened at the statement Night just said. I backed up, how could...

“Chaos this...chaos that! Is that all you think?!!” Night yelled. Something seemed to be holding him back.

“Well...yea. I am the god of it.” Discord smirked. 

“Do I have to do something?” Luna ran up to Night and pulled him into a hug as the purple seemed to vanish. “Calm down. Shhh”

Discord pulled me away as he still seemed pissed. “Tell nopony what you say today.” 

“How...I...” My head started to hurt very bad as I held it.

I walked back to my room and laid my head down. Night...son...Discord and Nightmare. This can’t be true.  I started to fall asleep, not caring what was going on around me. I awoke in a cell, it was cold and wet. Fear entered my body as I rubbed my eyes, not a nightmare.		

I looked around to find a skeleton of some poor pony. I tried to scream, but nothing came out.

“Look who is awake.” A voice said, coming from all directions.

I tried to find where it came from as I started to shiver. “P-please don’t hurt me.” 

A dark mist flew into the room. I choked as I looked up.  Standing, alive, in front of me was the Frozen North King: Sombra. “N-no.”

“What’s the matter, Shadow? It looks like you’ve seen a ghost.” He smiled, evilly. 

“S-sombra.”

“That’s King to you. You little colt.” He got closer,  his breath on my neck. I gasped as he bit my neck. His sharp fangs poking into my neck as he drank. “Hmmm...sweet.”

I started to become light headed as he stopped and licked his fangs. “Best blood ever.”

I looked up, trying not to pass out. “Y-you...M-moster...”

He laughed and walked out. I fell asleep , the cold floor was the only thing I had. I shivered and shaked. My mind was empty, my heart was heavy. Could I die here? What will he do to me! The next day A sharp pain awoke me “GAH!”

I looked over to my hoof where there was a bite mark. Sombra stood over me, a dark grin on his face. “Good, you’re awake.”

“P-please...I...I won’t tell anypony. Let me go.” I begged. 

He leaned down. His hot breath on my muzzle. “No.”

I was just a ball of fear at that time. My legs were weak and jello like. Sombra smiled as he saw this. “I...I beg!”

“Good...keep going.” He walked around me. 

He whispered in my ear. 

“Sins...we both have them. Let them grow and you can be like me.”

I looked up at him, fear still in my body as he spoke. “No, I will not be like you!”

He grabbed my throat and threw me into a cell. I landed hard and passed out. It felt warm, like a mother’s hug as I woke up in my house. I looked around to see my parents. I backed up as they ran up to hug me.

“Son?” My dad looked at my confusingly. 

“S-stay away...Y-you hate me!” I choked.

They looked at me confused. I ran out of the house and down  the road. It turned night as a cold wind blew. “YOU WILL NEVER LEAVE!!!”

I backed up as Sombra’s dark mist formed with his green eyes. The mist rushed forward, surrounding me, forcing itself into my body. I woke up in a cold sweat. I looked around to see if I was alone, I was wrong.

Night and Discord were in the same cell as me. I held my head and looked up outside the cell. Sombra sat on his throne, smiling, evilly. “LEt us- GAH!”

Something sent a sharp pain in my head. Night and Discord looked up, finally waking up, but they were under his spell. In his fear realm. 

“Finally awake...again. Damn.” Sombra spoke, his voice booming in my head. “Found these two trying to find you.  They both fell into my trap.”

“Let them go, it’s me you want.” I said with a stern voice. “I don’t know why, but let them go.”

Sombra stroked his chin with his hoof. He smiled as his magic gathered around me and pulled me out of the cell. He set me beside him, I could feel his body heat. The only heat. Night and Discord still sat in the cell. “Let them go.”

“I will...I will....son.” He smiled looking down at me.

I looked up. “No...no...you’re not my father! NO!” I hopped up and ran.

He grabbed me in his magic. “Don’t run, just accept it.” He locked my back hooves in a magic bond as I looked at Night and Discord. “I’ll let them go if you stay.”

Save myself or, save them. I’m just a teen! Why did I get dragged into this? Is there something I have to do? “Fine...let them go.”

My mind screamed at me, I had to fight that back, but I’m just a pony, not a alicorn, god, or princess.

“Very well.” He lit his horn as they were teleported out. “Now, to find you a bed.”

I looked at the empty cell as he showed me away. he showed me to a small, but workable room. One bed and mirror is all it had, no windows. “Here.”

I stepped inside and closed the door and laid on the bed. Slowly crying myself to sleep was the worst. I shivered through the night, wondering what was happening at home. I slowly awoke to the sound of my cell opening. “Get up.”

I turned my head to see Sombra at the door. I was still cold. He walked into the cell, grabbed me and throw me out. I slide across the ground, my fur slowly burning from the friction.

Something stopped me. I turned my head to see Night standing above me. “Thank you, Sombra...now I must go....with my son.”

Before I could questioned he lit his horn and teleported me and him. I soon opened my eyes to see Celestia in front of me. I thought fast and bowed. 

“Night, you do know how dangerous that was, right?” Celestia was stern in her voice as I looked up. “Ah, young Shadow. Sombra didn’t hurt you did he?”

“N-no Princess. I’m fine...just...sore.” I said standing up and looking to Night. “F-father?”

Night smiled softly and bend down to look me in the eyes. “I adopted you. Yes, I’m your father, son.”

I hugged him tighter, tears forming on my face. A dad that won’t hate me for who I am. “NI- I mean dad...what can we do first?”

“We can go out for shakes? What do you say everypony? Milkshakes on me!” 

Luna smiled. Celestia sent a letter to Twi and the girls to come to the soda shop. Everypony walked out, me and Night staying. He smiled and picked me up in his magic and laid me on his back. “Ready?”

I nodded softly as he took off running. We soon caught up to the girls and princesses. Luna smiled, her magic picking me up and laying me on her back. “Thank Princess.”

“It’s nothing little one. You’ve been through too much.” She stopped. “Night, where’s Discord?”

Night stopped. He looked around. “Uhh...if I knew, I would tell you.” Night looked at the sky and smiled. “Found him.”

I looked up to see Discord floating about ten feet above us. Luna looked up and frowned. “Discord...get down from there.”

“Why? It’s better than walking.” He smiled and floated down to pick me up. I whimpered, deep down I was afraid of heights. “What’s wrong?”

“Discord set him down, he’s scared of heights.” Luna angrily said.

I nodded, wanting to get down. He floated me down onto Night’s back as I held fast. Night sighed, he glared at Discord. Discord set himself on the ground and started to walk. After about 10 minutes Discord’s head turned to an old alley. “Hi guys.”

Everypony turned around and looked at him. Soft crying was coming from the alley. Discord slowly stepped closer, a soft light lit up. A pony was holding another in their wings; it was Lightning and Pinky.

No one said anything, Lightning was holding Pinky close, soft trickles of blood came from between Light's wings as they were wrapped around Pinky. Celestia reached for them, getting zapped. “Don't touch us.”

Lightning looked up, tears streaming from his eyes. Pinky was sobbing. Night set me on the ground as he slowly walked over to Light and sat down. “Please, tell me what happened.”

Lightning looked down, slowly moving his wings where only Night could see whatever it was he was showing him. I looked up to Luna, who only shook her head. Night slowly stood up and looked to Discord. “Take them home dad, I'll be there in a minute.”

Discord frowned and snapped his finger and teleported himself, Light, and Pinky to Night's house. “Dear mother be on your guard, same for you, Shadow.”

He teleported away before I could ask what he meant. I looked at Luna who sighed. “Come small one. I'll take you to the castle and you can sleep.”

“Luna, back awhile ago, Celestia got mad at Night. Is it true what she said about...The Shadowbolts?” I asked as Luna laid me on her back.

“Young one...Are you not more worried that you almost got killed...locked into a nightmare. Or your friend is hurt?” She said looking back at me. She looked worried.

“I'm more worried that I'm not being put into any this. I am always pushed out.” I said crossing my hooves. “Like...really.”

Luna sighed and cast a spell to take us to her room. “Shadow, you wouldn't understand. Somethings they keep out of history for a reason. My sister does hate Night, yes, but not for the reason you think.” 

“He's the leader...right? In Nightmare's place.”

Luna sat me down on her bed and walked over to her dresser. Opening it she pulled out a dusty book. “You know to much for your own good, but...You have learned.” She said sitting beside me.

She slowly open the old book. “You are right, yes. Night does take care of them as I can not. Lightning helps him as one of the commanders. Lightning and him have know each other for far to long. Night has saved him and Light has saved Night.”

“How old...are they? If they've told me I've forgotten.”

“Night is 1017 and Light is a bit younger.” She slowly turned the page to where a pony was getting turned into a vampony by magic...I guessed. “History is always written by the winners. One's who thought we all died long ago are wrong. We lived in with normal ponies, only those effect knew what was going on.”

I sighed and laid on the bed, sinking into the pillow. Luna smiled softly and stood. “I'll be up to catch up with my sister, sleep well young one.” She said then vanished in a cloud of smoke.

I laid there for about half an hour, thinking of the day in my head. Sombra, Pinky, Night, and Lightning. I rolled over to look out the window: Full Moon. I closed my eyes to open them again a minute later, feeling my belly grumble. Slowly sitting up and looking around I walked over to the door and slowly opened. 

Two guards looked at me. “Mister Shadow, why are you still up?” One spoke up.

“I'm hungry as a timberwolf and not for normal food.”

“Vampony? Right? Luna should be in the throne room, I'll take you.” One guard said smiling. 

I nodded as they lead me to the throne room, where Princess Luna sat. She waved me over. “Come child.”

I walked over and looked up at her. “I...I'm hungry.”

She smiled and patted beside her. “We have ran out of blood for today. Please come drink from me.”

“Drink form..A princess!?” I was shocked. I heard from Light no one was able to drink from Luna. “A-are you sure Princess?”

Luna sighed. She pulled me close with her magic and sat me beside her. He soft eyes looking down at me as she laid a wing around me. “Poor thing. You've been through so much. Please, drink my blood. Let it calm you.”

I frowned, but did what she said. I reached up and sank my fangs into her soft neck. He cool blood rushed into my mouth as a drank, slowly falling asleep.
