"I'm sorry...." Derpy said to herself. It had been a while since she had talked to anypony. She was forced to leave the show. And being forced to leave really broke her heart. She got her chance to actually be a real character of the show, with real lines. Because some human beings thought it was offensive that she was "mentally retarded", they wanted her to get removed from the show. Somepony replaced her. A pony who wasn’t “derpy”, that wasn’t crossed-eyed or anything like that. Derpy was literally kicked out of Ponyville.

She walked in the dark forest, all alone.

She thought of all the good times she had in Ponyville. She wondered silently if she’d ever be let back. Tears began to well up in her eyes. Derpy hadn't done anything wrong at all, from what she could remember. Even when she messed up, she had been only trying to help.

Her hooves ached from walking for so long. No idea of where to actually go. Even if it was some days ago since she got kicked out, she still thought of all the ponies she would never meet again, the mail she would never get to deliver again, the joy of flying with the other ponies, and all the other little bits of daily life she would never have a chance to savor once more. She thought of all these things, over and over again.

"It's not my fault my eyes are like this.." She began. "It's not my fault that I mess up.. or the way I am.." Derpy didn't know where she actually belonged anymore. How could anypony treat her like this? After a bit of more walking, a new environment appeared. Everything looked so different. So much details. Derpy got worried. The environment in her world disappeared. Once the detailed world was surrounding her, she looked back.

No way back. Derpy turned around.

"What?..." She said. Now, she couldn't go back. Ever.

Now she really could see that she couldn’t return home. Derpy Hooves couldn't return to Ponyville, to see her friends or family ever again. "Am I even alive?" She asked herself. Then the sun came out from behind the clouds, and shined down on her. The area she was in was not that warm, but there were trees, grass, earth, a sun and clouds. Even if it wasn’t the same sun, it looked very much like the sun from Equestria. Pretty much like everything in Ponyville, just with tons of details. There was a lot of shading, more colours, and shapes. But the grass wasn't green here. It was a darker colour than green. A grayish colour, more like rotten grass. The trees didn't have leaves either. Derpy looked around her. Where exactly was she? After a while of thinking, Derpy decided to get a view from above. Her wings started flap, and Derpy lifted from the ground.

She flew all across the strange new world, and it was bigger than she ever could imagine. All thoughts of Ponyville were now gone, for once. Derpy flew and flew, until she spotted houses. A grin spread across her face.

"Other ponies?!" A sudden burst of hope rose up inside her, and she flew faster, but stopped after a while and landed. "What if these ponies don’t like me either? What if they have heard of all the rumors about me?" Derpy said and looked around her once again. She stood on a meadow of rotten grass. She felt so alive. The wind blew her in the face. She was quiet for a while.

There was a meadow in front of her, and then there were houses beyond it.
Suddenly, she could hear a humming sound. A red big loud monster drove nearby the houses. Derpy got scared and stepped back a few paces, staring at the red monster. When it had went by, she noticed that there were a lot of them next to the houses. But they didn't move.
She laid down. Spotting no life around there anyway. After a lot of thinking of where to go from here, she fell asleep.

The morning had arrived in the unknown land. Derpy woke up and yawned. It was cold, colder than ever! Derpy flew up once again and got enough courage to look at the houses again. She spotted another forest, and flew down to it and hid behind a tree.

She watched the houses and studied them for a while. Nopony was there, she thought. Then she heard a door open. A two-legged thing walked out from the house and started walking away from the direction Derpy came from. Derpy got curious. Even if that wasn't a pony, what was it? It only had two legs to walk on. It had a small head, and long legs.

The first urge that popped up in Derpy’s head was to satisfy her curiosity, to talk to it. She wanted to greet that creature, but was too shy, so she stayed in her spot. She hid under the earth and bushes that were nearby. It helped her stay a little warm.

"Maybe that creature will come back?" Derpy wondered.

Come back.. the thoughts of Ponyville ruined her happy sense. Derpy shaked her head. If she wasn't turning back, why even think about it? This was a grand new place after all to start a new life in. She couldn't be bothered by the past, just keep moving forward. She tried to push down that sad feeling, thinking that Ponyville wasn't something more than a careless village with nasty ponies, but she couldn't. There was just too many beautiful memories. But on the other side, they didn't even want her there anyway. So what would be the point? Derpy sighed. She had nowhere to go.

Suddenly, Derpy Hooves came back from all of her thoughts. Another of these weird looking creatures went by on the road in front of her. It had a black long-haired dog. They walked together past her, without seeing her, into the woods on a path further away.

"So.. they have dogs too? Perhaps I actually can fit in here." Derpy said and studied the area once again.

As the day went on, Derpy had explored the little wooded area was hiding in. The sun stood high in the sky.

A couple of hours had gone by since the creature walked out of the house. Now, it returned. Derpy got curious once again and tried to get a good spot so that she could study the two-legged creature even more. But once again, she was too shy to greet it. The creature walked into the house, and closed the door. But after a couple of seconds, it came out again, and walked towards the forest.

This was Derpy's chance.

The creature came closer, and closer to Derpy. She had butterflies in her belly. This strange creature walked along the same path into the woods as the other creature and his dog did, and now Derpy couldn't hold it in anymore. She walked quietly closer to the creature, as it walked on the path. Derpy didn't want to scare it from behind, so she lifted from the ground and flew a couple of metres so that she could be in front of it when it passed by. Derpy landed behind a tree. The creature almost walked past her, until Derpy went up.

"...Uhh... Hello?" Derpy said, walking onto the path. The creature turned around. And stared. It was quiet. Derpy looked it in it's eyes. Instead of curiousness, she feared it. After one minute of neither one speaking the creature returned her greeting.

"Hi," It said, and it smiled. Derpy sighed with relief. She opened her mouth to speak, but the creature cut her off."You are Derpy Hooves, right?" Derpy's heart stopped beating. They knew about her here too? Well that was it.

"Yeah.. that’s me... b-but I-" she started, but got cut off by the creature once again.

"Don't worry about it. But for those who don't know about you it can be a little dangerous, I guess. Come, let's go here." The creature said and walked out of the path. Far away from it, where no one could see them, they at last started to sort out things.

"Okay, Derpy. Why are you even here? Why aren't you in Equestria?" the creature asked. Derpy was blown away with the words. How did this creature know everything about her world? About Equestria? Who she actually was? Did it know about the other ponies too? "All I know is that... people found you offensive. But you could have stayed, right?" Derpy looked at her silently for a moment before responding.

"I got kicked out of Ponyville, and Equestria, and I got replaced. I had nowhere to go. So I walked. Probably a hundred miles, or at least it felt that way. I was walking in a dark forest, until a new environment surrounded me. And I entered this.. strange world." Derpy at last explained.

"I see."

"...Where am I anyway?" Derpy asked with a bothered tone.

"Of course, you don't know. You’re in a completely another dimension. We call our planet Earth. Which you have entered."

"Earth..." Derpy repeated the name to herself, then looked back at the creature. "What are you creatures then? You look weird.."

"Oh. We are humans. But hey, do you have anywhere to stay?" The human asked.

"No, I don't." Derpy answered.

"In that case, why don't you stay with me?" The human said with a smile on her face, and rubbed Derpy's mane a little. Derpy hesitated, but answered with an soft "right". Then they walked to the humans house. When they entered the house, there was a room to the left. The human walked in to it, and sat down in her bed.

"This is my room. Make yourself at home!" It said warlmy. Derpy walked into the small room. When she entered, she could see a huge black rectangle . Then, there was another rectangle, but smaller, on a tiny table, hidden among clutter. Then there was a bed. To the left when she entered the room, there was a closet. Everything was so tall! But Derpy sat down on the floor. "Haha! Come up here instead!" the human patted the bed. Derpy flapped soft with her wings and landed on the bed. It was soft.

Then, the human, who called herself “Flaffy”, answered all of Derpy’s questions about the world she was in. That there also was seasons, that years passed by. Flaffy told Derpy about the universe, some places to visit, that the monsters outside that made a loud sounds weren’t monsters, that they were called “cars”, and that people often used to travel in them. Yes, Derpy learned a lot in one day, and it would take time for her to get used to it.

The hours went on and it was already 9 pm.

"I think you've had a long and tough day, am I right?" Flaffy asked Derpy.

"Yeah.." Derpy responded with an yawn. Flaffy carried Derpy to her bed, and laid a blanket softly over her. Flaffy walked out of the room to watch Big Brother on the TV.

Derpy finally relaxed, from all the drama, all the pain and punishment she had taken, she could finally start everything over. But one thing bothered her still - what would the other humans think about her?

And Flaffy tried to hide something, how did she know about Derpy? Could she be a spy? She wanted the truth.
