The only chapter
Pinkie pie threw herself onto the unmade bed and pulled the blankets up to keep her warm,but she knew on the inside she would still be cold like she was every night.The pink pony stared at the blank ceiling in the dark lonely room and tears welled up in her bright blue eyes.The pink pony threw the blanket at the foot of the bed and she went down stairs for a late night snack.Pinkie allowed herself to indulge in a piece if apple pie.Food was one of the few things that brought joy into the heart of the pink pony.It filled a void in her heart left there by feelings of loneliness and despair.As the pink pony went to take another bite out of the pie,she dropped the plate and it fell with a loud crash as it shattered against the floor of the bakery.
"Shoot!Way to go Pinkie you screwed something else up,"the pink mare said to herself.She bent down to pick up the shards of broken glass when she caught a glimpse of her reflection in the fragmented plate,the site made her sick.She couldn't stand the site of the mare staring back at her in the glass and she began to sob gently.The mare quickly picked up the shattered plate and dashed upstairs.Pinkie flung her body on the bed and pulled her blanket over her head as she continued to weep.
"Why?Why doesn't anypony like me?I don't understand why all of my 'friends' are avoiding me!Oh who am I kidding I know why,because my dad was right I am just a screw up,"the pink pony said as her tears rolled in a continues stream down her face.
The next morning Pinkie woke up with dried tears on her face from the long night before.She hadn't realized it but she cried herself to sleep,again.The pink pony looked in the mirror,and again was disgusted with the image reflected back at her.Regardless of how she felt she but on a fake smile and tried to make it threw another long day that seemed like it was never going to end.Pinkie bounced around Ponyville for a while saying hi to every pony as if she actually thought they liked her and every pony responding as if they actually thought they had her fooled.After a few hours Pinkie considered trying to make arrangements with her 'friends' but decided against it.She knew she would only get the same tired excuses she got every time she asked.Twilight would be to far behind on her studies again which seemed to happen allot for Celestia's star pupil,Apple Jack would claim to have to much work to do on the farm even when all of the trees were bucked clean,so much for the element of honesty,Rarity would claim to have a big order for a big client with a short dead line,it was funny how often these "big clients' would come in then disappear with no pony else noticing,Rainbow Dash would say she was to tired from practicing,but last time Pinkie checked the Wonder Bolts didn't have a routine that involved sleeping on the clouds,and Fluttershy would say some perfectly healthy looking animal suddenly came down with a deadly disease and needed her full attention.Pinkie knew all of these were bad excuses but she never called her friends out on it,she understood why no pony wanted to spend time with her she screwed everything up.Pinkie occupied the rest of her day rolling in the grass,bouncing a ball,and finally gorging herself with sweets,the only thing that brought any real joy into her life.Pinkie went upstairs to her room and turned the lights out.Pinkie lied under the blanket and began to cry again,the fresh tears stung her eyes as a torrent of tears escaped and soaked the blanket Pinkie was using to protect herself from the world that unceremoniously discarded her.
Pinkie woke up the next morning but was unwilling to leave the comfort of her bed and face the cold lonely world that had become her reality.After several minutes of laying in bed and staring blankly at the walls she found the will to stand up.She looked in the mirror as she did every morning and saw the same revolting image staring back at her.Pinkie tried to force a smile on her face like she did every day but this time could not muster up enough strength to mask her gloomy mood.She plopped back down on the bed and a tear rolled down her cheek.She laid on her bed staring at the walls with tears ruining down her face for what seemed like hours when suddenly a loud rapping came at the door.Twilight walked in the room unannounced and sat on the edge of Pinkie's bed.Pinkie buried her head deep into her pillow.
"Pinkie,Mrs.Cake told me that you haven't left your room all day!Is everything alright?"
"Go away,"Pinkie mumbled into her pillow softly.
"I'm sorry I didn't quite catch that can you repeat it?"
"Go away," Pinkie growled.
"One more time."
"GET OUT!"Pinkies voiced boomed in the room.For a minute the room was completely silent except for the tiching of the clock and the trickling of Pinkie's tears on the hard wood floor.Twilight was taken aback by her friends outburst.Twilight continued to sit on the end of the bed,regardless of her friends demand.
"Pinkie,please let me help you."
"Oh now you want to hang out huh?Don't you have some studying to catch up on?"
"Um,no I..."Twilight was cut off abruptly by Pinkie
"Just leave me alone,"the pink pony said as she curled into a ball under her blanket.Twilight stood up slowly,reluctant to leave her friend in her condition.
"Pinkie,I'm your friend.I want to help you.Just tell me what the problem is and I'll do my best to make things right but you have to..."
"YOU!"
"Me?"
"Yes, you and the rest of my so called 'friends' are the problem!"
"What...what do you mean,"Twilight said as tears began to fill her eyes as well.
"You girls have been avoiding me for weeks!You girls give me the same excuses every time.You have to study,AJ has to work,Dashie is to tired,Rarity has to meet a deadline,and Fluttershy has to take care of another sick animal!"
"P...Pinkie how can you say such nasty things,"Twilight said as she slowly began to cry along with her friend.
"Just go,"Pinkie said softly from under her blanket.Twilight left the room with her head hung low and tears ruining down her face.Pinkie laid in her bed for hours listening to the clock and staring at the barren walls until another knock came at her door,this one much louder than the previous.At first she tried to ignore it and buried her head deep under her pillow to try and drowned out the noise but the door flung open and Pinkie's friends barged in.Pinkie pulled her head out from under the pillow and looked at her friends.Many of them were on the verge of tears already,the only ones seemingly unaffected by there friends state were Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash,they both looked at there friend with sober eyes and a somber expression on there face.
"Are ya alright sugar cube?Were here to help ya,"Apple Jack said as she gingerly placed a hoof on her friends shoulder in an attempt to comfort her.Pinkie pulled away from her friend and glared at the group.
"Oh know you want to spend time with me huh?I thought you were to busy bucking apples!"Apple Jack was stunned at her friends curtness,her eyes grew wide and her mouth was gaping.
"Now darling,there is no need to be rude.We simply want to help you,"Rarity chimed in.
"Oh I'm sorry did I offend you princess,shouldn't you be making a dress for one of your clients we never see!"
"Darling you know my clients are very important ponies and very busy so they can not stay long!'
"Oh please like any pony would actually WANT to buy a dress from you!"Rarity's tears began to poor from her large rivers.
"HEY no pony makes fun..."Rainbow Dash started to say before she was abruptly cut off by the depressed pink mare.
"Like you have room to talk about friends,loyalty,humph!Your to busy 'practicing for the Wonder Bolts to spend time with your friends,the only ones who will sit threw your lame tricks!"
"OK that's enough!"Fluttershy finally said glaring at the mare
"Don't try and pull that tough mare act on me Flutter..."the pink pony was cut off by Fluttershy as the butter colored pony grabbed the sad pony by the shoulders.
"Listen I know you are upset and you are one of my closest friends but I will NOT let you upset my friends because you are not happy.I'm sorry you are felling neglected but this is no way to act towards your friends."
"Pinkie,we are truly sorry we have been avoiding you,"Twilight said threw the breaks in her sobbing.
"Yeah,it just some times you can be...a little much,"Rainbow Dash said while she tried to restrain the urge to cry along with the rest of her friends.
"Come on sugar cube let get you outta this room were sorry about this whole mess,"Apple Jack said with her head held low trying not to cry and remain strong for her friends.
"Alright,girls...I'm really sorry,"the pink pony said with her head held low felling shameful for the way she acted."I...I didn't mean those things I said,"more tears escaped the ponies blue blood shot eyes as she hopped up and embraced all of her friends in a group hug,Each of Pinkie's friends wrapped there arms around there upset friend.The six ponies depended the stairs of Sugar Cube Corner,when the Cakes saw Pinkie they were ecstatic to see her emerged from her tomb.They rushed to hug the pink pony then quickly brought her a delicious looking cupcake with pink frosting.
"Here eat up deary you haven't had a bite of food all day!"Mrs.Cake said worriedly.The pink pony thanked her land lord and quickly gobbled up the freshly baked treat.The five friends decided to get there friend out of the bakery that she voluntarily made her living tomb.Once Pinkie stepped over the threshold of the bakery she was immediately greeted with the blinding light from the sun.She was forced to squint as she looked upon her beloved town with all of its citizens running around.Eventually Pinkie's eyes grew accustomed to the brightness again and she let out a large blinding smile.
"Girls I'm really really super duper sorry about what happened and about those awful things I said,I didn't mean all of it."
"We already told you we forgive you Pinks,"Rainbow Dash said playfully.
"And we also told you that we were sorry for what we did.It wasn't right for us to avoid you and to lie to you,"Twilight said.
"Oh I love you girls!"the pink mare yelled out causing several ponies to stop what they were doing and look at her.
"Wait a minute wada you mean you didn't mean ALL of watch' said.Ya mean ya meant soma it?"Apple Jack asked obliviously confused.The rest of the girls laughed and Apple Jack joined in on the laughter.
