> Rainy Day > by Grape Crush > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The day had started out so well," Rainbow Dash thought. "How could this have happened?" she said aloud. "Don't worry Dash, nothing you could do," Applejack said. "I feel like..." Rainbow Dash trailed off. "Feel like what Sugar?" Applejack replied. "I feel like I could have stopped the rain," Rainbow Dash replied. Applejack began to think of ways to cheer up Rainbow Dash. She however knew that Dash could not finish her task because she had been very tired from the previous day. "Maybe it wasn't a good idea to throw a party," Applejack thought. "Thanks for understanding Applejack, I really appreciate it," Rainbow Dash said. "Your very welcome," Applejack said. "I have to go Applejack," Rainbow Dash said, "I have to go apologize to all of our friends." "Go do what you have to," She said as Rainbow Dash took off. Rainbow Dash flew to Twilight Sparkle's library. She knocked softly on the door. "Twilight?" Rainbow Dash called. "She must be asleep," She thought. "Rarity is on vacation," Rainbow thought, "No use trying to apologize to her." "Oh yeah Fluttershy went with her,"- Rainbow Dash smiled - "less people to apologize to." "That leaves Pinkie Pie" Rainbow Dash frowned, "She was so heartbroken that she had to cancel her party." > Chapter 1: Explanation > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Here it goes," Rainbow Dash said. "Pinkie are you there?" She said softly. "No! Go away," Pinkie Pie said. Even though she knew Rainbow would come in anyway. "Pinkie I want to talk to you," Rainbow Dash said. "What do you want to talk about?" She replied. "I want to apologize for not being able to clear the rain before you had to cancel your party," Rainbow said. "I don't want to talk about that right now," Pinkie said. "Please Pinkie?" Rainbow said. Rainbow cursed herself for not being able to tell Pinkie that she wanted to talk about something else as well. She however could not bring herself to tell Pinkie. "If only Pinkie would open the door so I can explain more," Rainbow thought. "If you wanted to talk about something else as well, I would be happy to open the door for you," Pinkie said. Rainbow Dash blushed as she understood that Pinkie knew that Dash wasn't just here to say sorry. "Pinkie I-I wanted to say that... I-I love... YOUR PARTIES!" Rainbow blurted. Cursing herself for not being able to say what she wanted. She began to think that Pinkie didn't believe where this was going until she opened the door. "Pinkie what happened to your hair?" Rainbow asked. Pinkie stared at her in disgust. "I was crying for hours and had no time to freshen up," Pinkie said in disgust. "Oh Pinkie I-I didn't mean to upset you..." Rainbow started to say. Pinkie put her hoof to Rainbow's mouth. Rainbow Dash stopped saying what she was going to say. "Now," Pinkie said, "What do you love about my parties?" Rainbow Dash's face reddened when she said that. She had no time to come up with a liable excuse. "I love that you have so many decorations," Rainbow said. "I do don't I?" Pinkie replied. "A-and that you talk to everypony like they are your best friend," Rainbow continued. Pinkie shook her head, not understanding why Dash won't simply tell her why she is truly there. "Dash tell me why you are truly here," Pinkie finally said. Dash's face reddened and she finally thought that telling the truth was her best choice. She is the Element of Loyalty, so why not tell Pinkie the truth? She thought about this over and over again and finally decided that she was going to tell her the truth. "Pinkie lets go inside I need to tell you something," Rainbow Dash said. Pinkie moved to the side and let Rainbow Dash pass through. Looking at her curiously. Dash sat on Pinkie's couch and patted the other part for Pinkie to sit down. Pinkie sighed and sat down. "Pinkie I've been meaning to tell you that I..." Dash couldn't bring herself to continue. Pinkie stared at her and Dash winced. "I-I love you Pinkie," Dash closed her eyes and waited for Pinkie to yell at her to get out... Or worse. A few seconds ticked by and Dash opened her eyes only to see that Pinkie had a happy expression on her face. "Dashie," She said softly, "I love you too." She giggled softly. Dash relaxed a bit knowing that Pinkie had the same feelings she had. Pinkie felt that Dash was still very sad. So she closed her eyes and leaned in to give Rainbow Dash a kiss. Rainbow wasn't caught off guard but she was a little scared. She figured this was her only chance so she returned the favor. Rainbow Dash gasped for air when she was awaken by her dream. Knowing all had happened except she never said sorry to Pinkie. "I only wish I had I had the guts to tell Pinkie I loved her," she trailed off sadly. > Chapter 2: No Dreams This Time > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "I don't know what to do" Rainbow Dash said in disgust. She got up from her bed in the sky, looking around her room half expecting Pinkie to be smiling at her. She noticed this was not the case and began to cry loudly. "Pinkie can't you see I love you!" she wailed. She couldn't control her emotions. All she could think about was Pinkie. "I need to figure out how to tell her that I love her," she said. "Maybe if I go see Pinkie then she could..." Rainbow Dash started to cry again. "She is the reason I'm crying!" she wailed again. Suddenly an idea popped into her head. "Maybe if I say that if I were to love someone and I'm not sure how they feel about me, Pinkie could help then!" Rainbow Dash had a mile long smile spread across her face as she realized how awesome her plan was. Rainbow Dash started to get ready to meet Pinkie. "All I need to do is brush my mane and I should be fine," she said. "I need to make myself look better than normal," Rainbow thought. Suddenly she smiled and found a bow in her dresser and put it on. "Maybe Pinkie will think I'm sexy now," she thought. "Rainbow Dash your an idiot, how would she think your sexy if you put a bow in your hair?" she said. "Since Rarity comes back today maybe I can get some tips from her," she thought. She suddenly winced and wondered what Rarity would think if she found out that Rainbow Dash loved Pinkie. "That's a chance I have to take," she said. She traveled to Rarity's Boutique to see if she was back. To her surprise she was. "Rainbow Dash don't chicken out now," Scolding herself. Slowly she rose a hoof and knocked on the door. "Who is it?" Rarity called. "Its Rainbow Dash..." she said. "Ok one second darling," Rarity said. Rarity opened up her door and Rainbow Dash half heartedly smiled. Rarity knew something was wrong right away. "What's wrong darling?" Rarity asked. "Can we please go inside to talk about this?" Rainbow asked. "Sure Rainbow," Rarity said. Rainbow went to the couch. Rarity took a seat in a chair opposite from her. "What's on your mind?" Rarity asked. "Rarity have you ever loved somepony but wasn't sure if they would love you back?" Rainbow asked. Rarity blushed at the question. "Why yes I have," Rarity said. Rainbow smiled in delight but then frowned again. "Was this pony a mare?" Rainbow blushed at when she asked it. Rarity turned beet red. "Yes, this pony was a mare." she answered slowly. Rainbow kept herself under control. "Well I have some... feelings for Pinkie Pie," she said. Rarity paused for a second to recuperate what she heard. "Well does Pinkie know this?" she asked. "No, that's why I came here, to ask for advice," Rainbow said. "So what do you want to know?" Rarity asked. "I want to make myself look more... sexy," Rainbow said while she tried not to blush. Rarity looked at her like she was crazy. "Why would you want to do that?" Rarity asked confused. Rainbow Dash showed a frown and looked away from her confused friend. She was deep in a thought for a couple of minutes until Rarity cleared her throat. "Rainbow I see that you care about her," Rarity said, "so I will help you become more "sexy"." Rainbow gave Rarity a hug and said thank you a bunch of times. "Your welcome darling," Rarity said. Rarity and Rainbow Dash began to search for "sexy" clothes that she may have in her shop. Rarity led her into the back of the shop and pulled out a key. She then led her to a closed door that said "Storage". Inside that door was the largest expansion of normal clothes that were not dresses or suits. Rainbow Dash saw the best looking cheerleader outfit she had ever saw. It consisted of short shorts, a very tight top, and a voluminous bow. "This is the outfit I want," Rainbow dash said smiling. Rarity put on a look of confusion. "Are you sure?" she asked. "Yes!" Rainbow replied. "Ok try it on and let me see what it looks like on you," Rarity said. Quickly Rainbow put on the uniform. When she was done Rarity tried not to blush. She indeed looked very sexy. Rarity could not keep her eyes off of her flank. "Rarity? Rarity!" Rainbow said laughing. "Sorry darling I was in a trance," Rarity lied. Rainbow Dash laughed and shook her rump at her. Rarity blushed and looked away. "See you were staring at my flank," Rainbow said. "So what if I was?" Rarity asked blushing. "Oh its nothing Rarity but this outfit must be sexy if YOU can't get your eyes off my flank," Rainbow Dash smiled. "Rainbow dear please stop," Rarity said. "Oh come on, I'm just joking around with you" Rainbow said. Giving Rarity a playful punch to the shoulder. Rarity smiled, "I think you are ready to confront Pinkie." Rainbow Dash thanked Rarity and flew away to meet Pinkie. She had to be ready for whatever will come up. Hopefully Pinkie would find Rainbow Dash to be as sexy as she wants herself to be. > Chapter 3: Confrontation > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dash was very scared about what she was about to do. She in her own lustful self was about to knock on Pinkie's door in a sexy cheerleader outfit. Hoping to win her over in the way she looked rather than the way she wanted to. "This is such a big mistake," she told herself. Frowning in her tight fitting outfit. "Pinkie doesn't realize how much I'm going through for her, hopefully she never does." "Stay strong and quit being a scared little girl," she began scolding herself. Slowly she knocked on Pinkie's door. "Come in," said a sad Pinkie Pie. Dash slowly opened the door, seeing Pinkie Pie lying down on her bed. She pinched herself to make sure she wasn't dreaming this time. "Pinkie..." Dash started but was cut off by Pinkie blushing. "Rainbow, y-your outfit is s-so different," Pinkie said blushing. "Do you like it?" Dash said fluttering her eyes. "I-I love it," Pinkie said softly. "Pinkie lets be serious now," Dash said, "I need to talk to you." "Ok but don't expect much eye contact," Pinkie said with a wink. "Pinkie I am tired of being a scared little girl, so I'm going to come out and say it..." Dash said. "Pinkie Pie you are the most beautiful and fun-loving mare I know a-and I want for you to call me your marefriend," Dash said. She half expected Pinkie to reject her. Pinkie's eyes brimmed with tears as she smiled a mile long. She began to cry loudly and Dash went over to comfort her. Pinkie gave her a big kiss on the lips. "Dashie you have no idea how long I have waited for you to say those words," Pinkie said half crying. Rainbow Dash was the happiest pony alive. She hugged Pinkie very tight and never wanted to let go. "Das-hie y-ou ar-e chok-ing me," Pinkie said coughing. Dash lessened her force on her new marefriend. She began to think of things on the more naughty side. "Hold yourself Dash, you just explained you loved her no need to rush too fast," Rainbow thought to herself. She began to think of why Pinkie was down in the first place. She began to tear up. Pinkie was planning the party of the century as she called it. She invited everypony from all around to celebrate MY birthday. She had done so much for me and I couldn't keep a bunch of rain clouds away. Pinkie had been talking about it for a month and how she just HAD to have it outside. I could have kept the clouds away if Twilight Sparkle hadn't kept me up so late. I was so tired and I just couldn't do it. Now here I am confessing to Pinkie that I love her and not even apologizing for my mistake. "I'm so happy Dashie," Pinkie began dancing around the room. Moving at lightning speeds she cleaned herself up and cleaned her once messy room. "Pinkie I still have to apologize for ruining the party you had planned for me," Rainbow said. She carefully said those words to not upset her as much as possible because she had just begun to bring Pinkie back to her former self. "I wish Dashie would forgive herself," Pinkie thought. Pinkie then began to realize why Dash didn't forgive herself. "She is still wrapped up thinking that I'm still mad for ruining her own party," She realized. "Dashie it is ok, see i'm happy now," Pinkie smiled. Rainbow couldn't believe that Pinkie could recover from such a disaster so quickly. "Well she is Pinkie Pie after all," she smiled. "What are you thinking about Dashie?" Pinkie asked. Hoping Dash would work up the courage to kiss her. "Besides she is my marefriend right?" she asked herself. Dash shrugged not sure what to say. "Just thinking about the party," she said with a sigh. "Pinkie I wish I could feel better but I still believe that it is all my fault," Dash said. She laid down on Pinkie's bed and looked at Pinkie who was now bouncing around the room happily. "Pinkie I have never said this because I don't really admire anyone except myself," Dash said, "however I admire how happy you can be in a bad situation." Pinkie smiled and laid beside Rainbow and gently rubbed her mane. "After tonight Dash will not be sad anymore, I will make sure of it," Pinkie said with a smile. > Chapter 4: Fun Night > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pinkie Pie had no idea what to do. She just sat in her bed with Dash snoring. "Aww she's so cute when she sleeps," Pinkie thought. "I'm so glad that she had finally come out and said she loved me," Pinkie blushed. Pinkie started to think that she loved Dashie more than her parties. She giggled at the thought. "Of course I do, I love her with all my heart," she said. That's a lot of love Pinkie thought. "Dashie," Pinkie said softly, "Dashie? Wake up," she said. Rainbow opened one eye and smiled. Pinkie smiled back and began to kiss her. Rainbow had no time to react due to her sleepiness. Before she knew it Pinkie was invading her mouth with her tongue. Rainbow tried to fight back with hers but Pinkie didn't give up so easily. Finally they stopped for a breath. Rainbow Dash was so confused about Pinkie's sudden nature. Rainbow got a look of her surroundings. She realized she was still in Pinkie's bed and it was still dark out. "P-Pinkie how long was I asleep for?" Rainbow asked. "An hour," Pinkie replied. Rainbow was confused again. She didn't understand how she only slept for an hour when she felt like she was asleep for days. She did have to admit that it was the best sleep she ever got. Pinkie was still looking at her blushing. Rainbow realized she still had her outfit on. "Pinkie I can take this off," Rainbow said. "No Dashie you look cute in it," Pinkie said blushing. Rainbow was very confused about why she didn't want her to take off her silly outfit. Then it hit her like a 500 pound boulder. Rainbow began to blush when she realized why she didn't want her to take it off. "Pinkie has been staring at my rump a lot," Rainbow thought, "now I know why." "Dashie looks so... different," Pinkie thought, "but that's not a bad thing." As she said that she smiled, making her red cheeks slowly return to pink. Maybe if I had some advice on how to make a pegasi happy then this would be a lot less uncomfortable. "Pinkie what are you thinking about?" Rainbow asked. Hoping that she wasn't thinking of going to bed. "I-I was thinking about you of course," Pinkie said with a smile. She needed to get advice from Fluttershy, fast. "Oh ok, what about me if I may ask?" Rainbow asked with a grin. "Nothing naughty!" Pinkie blurted. Then she became very embarrassed. Realizing what she said, she closed her eyes waiting for Rainbow to say something. When nothing came she opened one eye carefully. She saw that Rainbow Dash was blushing and laughing at the same time. Pinkie's red cheeks returned. "Aww Pinkie I'm sorry if I embarrassed you," Rainbow said sadly. She had not realized that both of them were very new to being with each other. She scolded herself for laughing but saw that Pinkie was not sad or mad. "She actually looked wait... shy?" Rainbow asked herself. "Dashie I have no way to make you happy," Pinkie said sadly. Hoping Dash wouldn't break up with her or worse. "Lets see you try," Rainbow said with a devious grin. > Chapter 5: Time For Explanation > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dash woke up with heavy breathing to her left. She took a second to realize what it was. "Wow Pinkie, way to take over the entire bed." Dash didn't even care though, she began to think of what exactly happened last night. All she could remember at the time was that she had been invited to Pinkie's room. Everything else was a blur. "Maybe that is a good thing". "Wait how can that be a good thing?". She continued to argue with herself and didn't realize Pinkie had started to get up. "Hiya Dashie". Pinkie then began to jump crazily around the room shouting "Dashie remember us doing all those things?". "Pinkie please, keep your voice down." "Why Dashie?" Pinkie shouted over her own noise. "Are you to afraid to admit that we are marefriends?". That hit home for Dash. She thought of what everypony would think of them being together. The more she thought, the more scenarios she came up with. Each of them worse and worse. "Pinkie we need to talk about how we will tell each of our friends". "Why?" Dash couldn't think of a good answer besides that she was afraid of what they would think of them. "No, I will not let my fears come in between my relationship". "Pinkie what do you think in your opinion our friends would say?". Dash made sure she said that slowly so she didn't end up changing the meaning she was looking for. Pinkie paused carefully mulling this over. She began to think of a good thing each pony would say and a bad thing. Applejack would say as a good thing "Awe yall are so cute". Bad thing "I don't talk to anypony like yerselfs". Pinkie didn't think Applejack would say such a thing but after all crazy stuff happens all the time. Rarity wouldn't be that hard on the subject. Mostly because she kept a Pinkie promise with Rarity about her special mare. Fluttershy... Pinkie Pie laughed. Fluttershy would be the most understanding pony in the situation. Twilight... She was going to be the hard one. "Pinkie?" Dash waved her hoof in Pinkie's face. "Oh sorry Dashie" "So are you going to answer my question?" "Well Dashie I see that Rarity and Fluttershy really won't mind. Applejack may take awhile to get used to. Twilight could go either way depending on how she feels on the subject. Dash thought of this. Pinkie was right about Rarity and Fluttershy not minding. However Applejack may not like the idea and Twilight is still a mystery on the subject. "Yeah I'm still worried". Dash had many reasons to back up that sentence if needed. "Give me one reason why your worried Dashie". "I knew they would come in handy," Dash thought. "Well you see Pinkie if even one of our friends rejects our new relationship then we would be in a huge mess considering we may lose her as a friend". Dash didn't feel satisfied with her answer but it was the only correct answer she had. This however needed the correct answer due to the danger of the situation. "Dashie you are right, we need to figure out a plan that will make certain that they will accept us." Dash brainstormed for awhile thinking... Thinking... She was interrupted by Pinkie saying she has an idea. "Let me hear it Pinkie". "Well if we could throw a party..." "Pinkie let me stop you there." Dash realized this could be a mistake. "Parties are fun and all but how will that help us tell our friends the secret?" "You didn't let me finish silly, we could through a party for just us six. Then we could slowly bring it up to Twilight and Applejack." "What about Rarity and Fluttershy?" "We could get them to help us with Twilight and Applejack if we tell them first. I'm sure they would have no reason not to help." "Pinkie your idea is so crazy that it might just work," Dash smiled. "Thank you... Thank you," Pinkie bowed having her idea recognized. "Don't get too ahead of yourself there hotshot, you still need to set it up." Rainbow thought that Pinkie was going to yell at her for not volunteering to help. "I know I will!" Pinkie said. "First before you go running off and setting up, where will this take place? Dash had been thinking about that since Pinkie brought it up. "Where?"... "Hmm," Pinkie seemed to be thinking hard. "Ah-hah, how about we have it at Twilights Library?" "Well sure if you can convince her to let us have it there then I'm all for it." "Good I'll go ask her right now," Pinkie said as she brushed her mane. "Dashie before I go..." Pinkie gave Dash a kiss. "Thanks Pinkie," Dash said smiling. "By the way, what should I do while you are asking Twilight? "Go to all of our friends house's," "Ok have fun," Dash said as she left the room. "I'm going to go to Fluttershy's house first to get her out of the way." On her way, Dash noticed that there was a large grouping of ponies in a circle around something she couldn't make out at her height. "Maybe I should go investigate." Rainbow flew down to see what all the fuss was about. Pushing her way through the crowd she saw that a pony was being attacked by another pony. Before Dash went into action she wondered why everypony just stood and watched instead of helping. "Hey! I don't like the way you are treating her!" Dash yelled. The attacker turned and faced who was speaking to him. He laughed hysterically at the sight of a multi-colored pony yelling at him. "Oh yeah and what do you think you are going to do about it?" He yelled back. "I might just have to make you wish you never touched that pony in the first place!" While this was going on the pony that was being attacked slowly backed away. "Where do you think your going little girl?" the pony yelled. The other pony stopped. Scared for her life she stood where she was. Rainbow noticed she had a black eye and had a little bit of a limp. She wondered what this pony could have done to deserve what she had done to her. "Maybe Silver Sun over here would like to explain why she is being treated like this," The boy pony said. "I-I broke up with my coltfriend b-because I don't like colts anymore," Silver Sun said. Rainbow became very angry with this stubborn pony. "So you are beating up a girl for breaking up with you?" She shouted. Rainbow had no idea why she had gotten involved but she hated this pony a lot. "Yeah why not?" He retorted. He began to laugh again at the colored pony for becoming very angry at him. Rainbow went up to him and slapped him so hard that he fell to the ground. She went close to his face and whispered, "Mess with her again, you will not live to see the next day, now apologize to her." The pony got up and walked to Silver Sun and apologized saying that his emotions had gotten the better of him. Then he slowly walked away not looking back. "Now that that's over I can go see Fluttershy." Before she could take off she heard a voice say "STOP". Rainbow turned around to see Silver Sun running up to her. "I wanted to thank you for your help back there". "It was no big deal, but I'm busy so hopefully I see you around sometime but for now I have to go," Rainbow said as she took off. Leaving Silver Sun alone.
