> The Silver River Enchantment > by ReifuTD > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue: The Fairy Tale > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once upon a time in the magical land of Equestria. There was a very magical unicorn that wished to have a piece of the silver river that appears in the sky every night. But as much as she tried she couldn’t catch any of the liquid with her magic. The unicorn was a good and kind soul and married to a poor woodcarver. She wished to enhance her husband’s works with the silver river’s brilliance. Not being able to help her husband the unicorn would fall into sadness. On one night she was crying under the stars. This drew the attention of the princess of the night. “Why do you cry?” The princess asks, “Aren’t you a good and kind soul. Shouldn’t your heart be filled with happiness?” “Oh, I wish to have a piece of the silver river in the sky,” The unicorn cries, “It will make my husband’s creations most beautiful in the land.” “My dear why didn’t you just ask me before now?” The princess says to the unicorn, “Someone as just as you deserves a gift for their kindness.” “Really?” The unicorn sobs. “Look down,” The princess points at the puddle of tears that formed on the ground below the pony. It had turned into a silver liquid. “But be warned my little pony,” The princess says in her royal voice. “This liquid hold special powers, choose carefully when and who you use it for.” The princess disappears as the unicorn finds a bottle to keep the silver sliver of the sky. The liquid turns the bottle silver bestowing it with magic powers. The night beings without bodies visit the dreams of the woodcarver. They wanted the silver water for themselves and implanted an inception into the ponies mind. The next morning the woodcarver started cutting four masks. The masks would give the beings without bodies vessels. When he was done a young filly tries one of the masks allowing a bodiless one to take her over. The filly then turns violent on the unicorn and woodcarver. With her last breath the unicorn enchants the bottle. Only allowing the princess of the night and her servants to touch it. Because of the magical enchantment the evil bodiless beings was unable to touch the bottle. But they knew that the bottle would brake sooner or later. Not even they could last forever. With nothing else to do the being control filly started on a journey to give it’s companions bodies. The green mask was given to a tree so it could take the power of plants. The red was put on a dragon so to have the power of fire. The blue mask was given to a river boulder to get the power over water. The last and yellow mask like the others became forgotten. > Main Story > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “One,” The colt and filly voices said in unison. “Two…Thre-“ “Hisss!” The dark purple bat pony jumps out from under the blankets baring her pointy fangs. The white pegasus and blue unicorn jump away falling on their butts. “Hah hah hah,” Ebony Iris laughs at the foals. The young filly had a black mane with a light blue streak in it. Her cutie mark was three twinkles. The colt was a white and blond thing name Rider. He didn’t have his cutie mark. The filly was named Snow Kiss. A like blue unicorn with a blue and pink mane. Her cutie mark a snowball sucking in an icy wind. Ebony yawns stretching her wings in front of the window. A beam of like shoots through her skin flaps showing off her veins. “You guys do realize I’m nocturnal. “Yeah but we are not,” Rider remarks. “Plus the sun is almost down,” Snow Kiss points out. Ebony looks out of the window at the orange sky and lowering sun. “I suppose you're right,” She scratched her head, “I guess I’m just lazy.” The three foals walked out of the room. The hallway was open air with a wood floor and railings. If one walked to the very end of the hall they would see that the mansion hung over a cliff. The middle of the structure was built around a splashing water fall. The water was pumped up from a lake below and released from above. This allowed the water to fall back into the lake. Two adult bat ponies walked down the hallway. One was a grizzly old stallion in peak condition with a fire cutie mark. The mare a green bat pony with a gem cutie mark. “Grandfather, Sister,” Ebony nods her head to the ponies. “I’m off the consult with Luna,” The stallion named Nightflame told the foals. “I’m coming with,” The mare named Emerald Haze adds. “You and your friends don’t cause trouble,” Nightflame eyes the foals. “We won’t,” Rider smiles. Snow Kiss nudges the pony. “Sir,” Rider adds. The two ponies walked to the end of the hall and fly off. “We check on Litwire,” Snow Kiss remarks. As they approached the filly’s room they saw long cables wrapped in wires sticking out and hung over the railing. “Litwire?” Rider calls out as he approached. “Don’t touch the cables!” A filly’s voice shouts. Buzzp! “Aaack!” Ebony shouts as she steps on a cable. “What are you doing in here?” Snow Kiss asked the green filly with the pink mane. “Oh, working on an advanced version of my taser,” Litwire says as she turned off the power to the cables. “I’m trying to make something long range. We earth ponies need every advantage we can get over unicorns and pegasus.” “Be more careful,” Ebony walks in shaking her hoof. “Let that happen to Nightflame and he’ll put you back on the street where he found you.” “He wouldn’t do that,” Litwire smirks. She looks at Snow Kiss. “What brings you here?” “Remember the other day when we were at the library and we found that old map?” “Yes,” Litwire nods her head. “I did some exploring and I found an old half buried settlement near Everfree. I think we should check it out.” “At night?” Ebony questions, “Because I’m assuming I’m coming with and night time near Everfree seem dangerous. Not saying I’m not in. I’m the king of stupid.” “We are going to turn it into a camping trip and everything,” Rider chimes in.” “Gives me a chance to try this out on any manticore,” Litwire holds a copper net cloth thing over her hoof. “I call it the power hoof.” “You scare me some times you know that,” Ebony remarks. “Good to know you are not as dumb as you think you are,” Litwire smiles. Ebony and Litwire quickly packed up their sleeping bags and camping gear. They left the mansion by jumping off the side. The flying ponies were caring the ponies that couldn’t fly. Ebony was carrying Snow Kiss. Rider carried Litwire. Ebony gets a smile on her face. “Rider, You know how to get to the ruin settlement right?” “Yes,” Rider replies cautiously. “Snow Kiss you know the way?” Ebony asks. “Yes,” Snow Kiss nods her head. “Then we have a race,” Ebony answers. “Wait! What? Eeeeeeeeeek!” Snow Kiss squeals as Ebony dives. They landed in front of the glass shop. Snow Kiss’s heart was pumping when her hooves touched the ground. “Don’t do that again!” The unicorn gasped. “Get your stuff,” Ebony slaps Snow Kiss on the butt with her hoof. Snow Kiss rushed into the shop. Ebony walks in after. The unicorn walks up stairs. Another adult purple unicorn was at the counter. A glass pain was her cutie mark. This was Pain, Snow Kiss’s older sister. She gives Ebony a look of distain. Last time the bat pony was in the shop her wings broke a sculpture. Snow Kiss comes back down stairs with her pack. The two ponies make it for the edge of town. Rider and Litwire were waiting for them. “Beat yeah,” Rider smirks. “I’ll have better luck next time,” Ebony replies with a friendly smile. The last of the sun left the sky and they watch the moon rise as they reached the ruins. The ponies set a camp fire and snuggled around it’s warmth for the night. “So did you ever find out why was this settlement abandoned?” Litwire asks. “I asked around,” Snow Kiss replied, “Most say it’s old and ponies just left. One pony told me sometimes something so evil happens a place gets this stigma.” “Evil like what?” Litwire wonders. “Who knows,” Snow Kiss shrugs. Ebony sniffs the air. “I smell apples.” “Really how do you smell that?” Rider asks. “Fruit Bat,” Ebony remarks. “Funny,” Rider smiles. “I’m going to snag some,” Ebony tells the others. “I want to come,” Rider says as Ebony flies off. He takes off after the bat pony. “It looks like he’s making a move,” Snow Kiss teases Litwire. “Mock as much as you want I live with her,” Litwire smiles. “Does that mean you two kissed yet?” Snow Kiss smirks. “Well…no,” Litwire blushed, “I did everything that I was suppose to do. Give a smile walk that certain way with your butt.” “Well Rider’s trying just as hard,” Snow sighs, “I don’t think she’s into ponies. But you tell me what, kiss her before the night is over and see what her reaction is. “Okay,” Litwire nods her head. Then she gets up walking away from the fire. Litwire was returning just as Ebony and Rider returned. The four ponies chewed down on a bushel of apples. After awhile Ebony walks off on her own. Litwire gets up and fallows her. “She’s making her move,” Snow Kiss squeals. “Wait what?” Rider perks. “I got Litwire to try to kiss Ebony,” Snow Kiss cheered. “By the snow balls on your rump girl what did you do!” Rider flies off. “Oh a love triangle how romantic,” Snow Kiss blushed, “Umm maybe I should try to swoon young Rider’s heart?” “Ebony!” Litwire shouts. “What?” Ebony had just turned her back to a tree. “I-have to tell, no do,” Litwire stuttered. “Ebony!” Rider shouts flying up. Ebony rolls her eyes, “Can’t no pony let me pee,” She mutters. “I have something to say to you first,” Litwire gives a glance at Rider. “It's a girl thing no boys allowed.” Rider puff from anger as Litwire led Ebony away. As they walked Litwire suddenly yelped. Her foot had slipped in a hole. Around the two ponies was a creaking sound. Suddenly the ground caves in with a whoosh. Rider when into the hole after the two fillies. “Are you two okay!” He shouts. They didn’t fall far, only a few feet leaving the fillies confused in a dimly silvery lit room. “Are we in a house?” Ebony notes. “Apparently the grass and dirt grew over an old building and the floor caved in,” Litwire rubs her foot. “What happen I heard a crash!” Snow Kiss shouts as she comes running up. “We found an old building,” Rider tells her. “Where is that light coming from?” Ebony asks. “This back room here,” Litwire points out. “Let me see,” Snow Kiss jumps down. “Careful,” Rider warns as the pony hits the ground. The silver light was coming from a back room. It was emitting from a silver bottle the type an alchemist would use. Snow Kiss walks up to the bottle. As she extends her hoof to touch it a bolt of magic causes the unicorn to yelp. “It’s protected by something,” Snow Kiss rubs her hoof. Litwire takes a pebble and tosses it at the bottle. A spark of magic repels the stone. The green filly gets a smirk on her face. “Ebony I bet you won’t let that thing shock you.” “I’ll take that bet,” The purple pony boats as she walks up to the bottle. “Ebony don’t, it really hurts,” Snow Kiss warns. The bat pony just huffed and extended out her hoof. To her surprise she tapped the bottle without it biting her. The thing wobbled and smashed on the floor splattering silver everywhere. “You… broke it,” Snow Kiss said in shock. Ebony sticks her hoof in the silver substance. It covers her nail up in a metallic sheen. “Looks like hoof nail polish to me,” The pony remarks. “Ebony! How did you get it on your back hooves too!” Rider points out. “What?” The bat pony lifts her back foot to look at it. Her hoof was indeed silver. Ebony turns back to her front hooves both were silver. The puddle of silver was now gone. The glass was clear. “This appears to be magic we should have you checked out by a cleric just in case this is dangerous,” Litwire tells the bat pony. “I suppose…I feel fine,” Ebony remarks looking at her silver hooves. “It’s not my color but it matched my cutie mark and my mane streak.” “Okay you and Rider go ahead, We will catch up later,” Snow Kiss tells them. “Okay,” Rider replies as he and Ebony take off. As Ebony flew she gets a smile on her face. “Ebony are you okay?” Rider asks. “I’m feeling ravenous,” The bat pony cheered barrel rolling around Rider. For a moment Rider thought he saw Ebony shimmer. Suddenly the bat pony shoots off in a silver streak. “Ebony?” Rider said in shock. The bat pony loops around behind Rider. “Rider,” Ebony laughs, “I feel like I can do a Sonic Rainboom or a Sonic Silboom.” “Smooth pun sister,” Rider rolls his eyes. “But seriously you are scaring me.” “Sorry,” Ebony replied. Below in a grove of trees a flash catches their eyes. “What was that?” Ebony glides toward the flash. “Ebony!” Rider snaps, “We are suppose to head back to town.” “I’m fine,” Ebony snaps, “That flash could be an SOS.” Rider grunts and steers around to fallow the bat pony. They touched down in a red flower field or what they thought were red flowers. When their hooves hit the ground the petals flew up into the air. “Butterflies?” Rider points out as one of the red flying things lands on his nose. Ebony snaps one out of the air with her mouth chewing on it. “Tasty.” “Really?” Rider remarks. A head of them the light started up again. The ponies turn to see a beautiful green skin fairy woman. She was reflecting moon light off of water in a hallowed out stump. The water made the air smell sweet. “Thank the goddess I got your attention,” The woman sighs in relief. “Is there something the matter miss?” Rider asks. “I sensed it’s power approaching me and I had to stop you,” The woman answers. “What power?” Ebony asks concerned. “The silver river,” The woman points up at the sky, “One of you have a piece of it do you not?” “Ebony, your hooves,” Rider queued the dark pony to lift up her silver hooves. “Yes, yes,” The woman moves toward Ebony causing the pony to take a few steps back. Noticing this the woman stops herself. “Can you tell me what happened to my friend?” Rider asks. “The elixir enhances the beauty of what it touches,” The woman tells the foal. “Ebony doesn’t look buitifu-ack!” Rider was interrupted by Ebony bumping him in the rear with her head. “What?” Rider turns around and snaps. “Don’t this seem strange to you?” Ebony asks in a hushed tone. “I say we are lucky to find someone who knows what’s going on with you,” Rider answers just as quietly. “I don’t believe in luck,” Ebony remarks. “You think she’s dangerous look at her she’s so pretty,” Rider points out. “You’re such a colt, Beware of the pretty ones,” Ebony snaps, “A wise stallion told me that.” “Children what’s the matter?” The woman says in her kind voice. “Why do you want this silver elixir?” Ebony asks. “We need it to return home,” The woman answers. “We-how?” Ebony replied. “Magic Mirror,” The woman told the pony. “Okay then well I claim ownership of this silver stuff,” Ebony announces, “It appears to be stuck to my body after all. If you want to use it contact my guardian Lord Nightflame and I'm sur-“ “No!” The woman roared. Roots burst out from the ground and rap themselves around the ponies. The woman twists and distorts into a spidery tree. Fused into the trunk of that tree was a green mask. “Wow, you got real ugly real fast,” Ebony remarks. “I will open the gates of my home world and I will return home!” The tree shouts. “Let us go you witch,” Rider snaps. “Witch? I suppose I am,” The tree woman smirks, “Your fates shall be fairy tales told to young foals.” As Ebony struggled to get free her silver hooves start to spark with energy. “What’s this?” The tree gives the silver hooves a closer look. Ebony’s beads of nervous sweat rise from her body turning into twinkles. “Ebony, it looks like your cutie mark.” Rider says in shock. “You wood witch, whatever you are,” As Ebony speaks a bang of energy from her makes the wood tentacles let her go. The dark pony just floated there. “You should know what my cutie mark means.” “What you’re sparkly,” The tree woman jokes. Ebony smiles, “Sparkly, yes that's a good word for it. My grandfather and sister trained me to be a night guard. Trained for violence. No matter how dark I get I retain my sparkly sense of humor.” “What’s that su-“ Ebony shoots through the wood witch’s side. The creature falls to the ground screaming. Ebony walks up to her. The witch lashed out with spider like appendages. The bat pony sliced through the wood with a swipe of her hoof. The wood witch starts to crawl away. She dragged her self across the ground. “Mercy,” The witch shouts. “Your fate will be told as fairy tales to young foals,” Ebony says before smashing the green mask with her hoof. The living tree stops moving. “You killed it?” Rider said in shock. “I don’t think she was ever really alive,” Ebony said somberly. “But still, that was cold,” Rider shuttered. “Oh sweetie I wasn’t raised to be kind,” Ebony gives the colt a smile, “I have a new plan, We go to my home and wait for my grandfather.” The two ponies took to the sky. They flew to the house on the mountain. When they landed, Rider starts to head to Litwire’s room. “What are you doing?” Ebony asks. “That mask it made me think of something,” Rider looks at Litwire's book shelf. “Here’s the book.” Rider takes a book off the shelf and opens it. "Yes, I remember the page I was looking for being dog eared." “This is what the book of deities says,” Rider clears this throat. “Masks of the Bodiless. In rare cases the beings without bodies slip into our world. To inhabit this world they must take over a mask. The masks themselves can take over anything that fits them.” “That sounds like the thing I fought,” Ebony notes. “There is more,” Rider tells Ebony, “One tale talks about four masks. A mask worn by a filly. The filly took the other three and put one on a tree, one on a dragon, and one on a river boulder.” “You’re saying that woman tree was one of these masks?” Ebony asks. “It’s possible,” Rider answers, “It's also very possible that all four of these things are working together for the same goal.” Ebony gulps, “That woman said she could sense my energy and one of those things is a dragon.” “What about the dragon but got you so nervous?” Rider asks. “It's where we are, a lone wooden house on a cliff,” Ebony answers, “Not the best place to w- “ A loud roar shakes the building. The two ponies run out into the open to see a mass of red fly by. The dragon circles around again allowing them to see its head. Under his chest was a red mask. The dragon spotted the ponies. He took out a long chain with a trap cage on the end. With a flick of his wrist the trap cage flies across the air and snags Rider. With another flick the dragon brought Rider to him. “Hey! Give him back to me!” Ebony shouts, “By the goddess don’t make me have to save him like a damsel in distress!” The dragon replied in a blast of fire breath. Ebony flinches, but to her surprised nothing was burned. “Neat, the building must be magic proofed against fire,” Ebony smirks, “It pays to be rich.” The dragon swings his tail hitting a beam under the building the was holding part of the deck up. The building creaked and shifts causing Ebony to slide across the floor. The dragon gives another breath of fire. Ebony dodges by taking to the sky. “Don’t you want my hooves?” Ebony remarks. “I’ll rip then from your cooked meat,” The dragon roared. “Run Ebony!” Rider yells. “Planning on it,” Ebony smirks. The bat pony dives pass the dragon’s head. He snaps at her. Ebony flies under the beast dodging his swinging tail. The dragon turns around flying after the pony. “Get back here.” “I hope this works,” Ebony prays. She takes straight up to the sky. The dragon shifts to fallow her. Before he could finish the bat pony makes a dive. She shoots a silver tail stream as the pony explodes in silver. The dragon was knocked back by the shock wave. Ebony lost consciousness for a moment. When she opened her eyes she saw a chain flapping in the air. Ebony grabs the chain. At the other end Rider bounces around in the cage. The bat pony takes the cage to a nearby cloud as the dragon crashed in the town below. With a swing of her hooves the bat pony cuts through the cage allowing the pegasus to escape. “Thank you,” Rider sighs. “Stay here,” Ebony orders as she drives away. The young bat pony lands in front of the dragon. A crowd of ponies had gathered in front of the unconscious beast. “Ebony?” Pain notices the bat pony. “Where is my sister?” “I…um don’t know at this point,” Ebony laughs nervously. “What do you mean you don’t know!” Pain growled. “We split ways a while ago,” Ebony backs away from the enraged unicorn. “They should be back in town by now? But I killed a dragon.” “You ticked off a dragon!” Pain yells. “Oh, god no,” Ebony replied, “It ticked me off.” “What?” Pain’s ears and tail droops. The dragon stirs and stands up. He spots Ebony and makes a step toward the pony. He was about to shoot a blast of fire when- Dunk! The metal cage smacks the dragon in the back of the head. It stumbles forward and falls on a post that pierced its chest. The dragon looks down to see the post smashed its mask. He exhales smoke. “Hush,” Ebony tells the dragon as it drops dead with a thud. “Did you see that!” Rider boasts. “You killed a dragon,” Ebony points flatly. “Yes, but I killed a dragon,” Rider cheers, “I feel like a stallion.” “Nice to know you dropped,” Ebony smirks. “What the heck is going on!” Pain snaps. “I found a maguffin,” Ebony holds her silver hooves up. “Maguffin?” Pain questions. “It’s Equestria, maguffins, maguffins everywhere,” Ebony says with her hooves sliding across the air. “But…” Pain starts to say when Ebony flies off. Pain gives a glare to Rider. The colt gives a nervous giggle and flies off. “Ebony!” Rider shouts as he catches up to the bat pony. “Check my flank for a cutie mark.” Ebony looks at the white pony’s flank. “No cutie mark of dragon killing.” “That would have been awesome,” Rider sighs. “I do see something on your flank,” Ebony adds. “Really what does it look like?” Rider asks. Ebony flies in front of Rider. “It looks something like this.” She gives the colt a view of under her tail. The pegasus blushes red for a moment as the implications struck him. “You’re a jerk!” “Yelp,” Ebony chirped lowering her tail. She flies next to the colt. “Pony butt!” The bat pony punches him in the shoulder then takes off like a rocket. “Meannie!” Rider snaps rubbing his shoulder before trying to catch up. The foals reached the bat pony mansion. It creaked a little under the young ponies’s weight. “Is this building safe?” Rider asks nervously as he tried to balance himself on the floor. “I don’t care, I am defender of the home of my forefathers. If it falls, it falls with me.” Ebony boasts then loses her confident demeanor. “At least until grandfather gets back. Besides I can fly.” “Ebony!” Snow Kiss shouts as she and Litwire walks up. Ebony’s ears droop. “They can’t.” “Don’t give us that look we took the stairs up here,” Litwire snaps. “You know how many steps this mountain has!” “Sorry, you just came at a bad moment,” Ebony told the fillies. “Yeah, we saw the commotion,” Snow Kiss answers pointing out to the town with the sun rising in the background. “I took down a dragon,” Ebony boasts. “I killed it,” Rider butts in. “After I saved you,” Ebony points out, “And I killed the wood witch.” “Just what all happened when we were separated?” Snow Kiss asks. “It seems some creatures called the bodiless ones are after Ebony because that silver stuff stuck to her feet can send them home.” Rider explains. “I would have been happy to help, if it wasn’t for the killing me part.” Ebony adds. “It looks like this place is on its last legs,” Litwire notices. “Nothing a few pegasus workers can't fix,” Ebony shrugs off. “I’m going to gather my valuables,” Litwire walks over to her room. “What now?” Snow Kiss asks. “Well from the book I read there are two more of these things,” Rider answers, “I think one is water.” “Speaking of,” Snow Kiss points at a trickling of water running off the face of the angler deck. “This might be a hazard.” “I think I can block that with a board,” Ebony walks over to the kitchen and walks back with a bread board. She starts strapping the bread board on the railing side near the water fall. Suddenly a stone hand made of rocks reaches over the railing. Water flowed around the hand and dropped on the deck. A round stony creature wearing a blue mask climbs up on the railing. Ebony quickly swings her hooves slicing the railing into pieces causing the stone creature to fall back. There was an explosion of water. All three foals get drenched as stones and a boulder drops onto the deck. Snow Kiss uses her magic to turn the water droplets into snowflakes. A gust of wind blows the icy crystals away. The stones fused together forming hands and a head around a large boulder. Water consumes the stone golem like a skin. With its will the golem sprays the foals with jets of water from its body. Ebony trips and falls over the edge of the deck sending her diving into the water fall. Rider was suppressed to the ground. Snow Kiss blocked the water with her ice magic. The unicorn casts her magic to the wet deck. The filly slides along the ice sending herself crashing into the golem. She casts her ice magic freezing the monster. With a buck Snow Kiss sends the block of stone and ice across the deck. The creature hits the railing catching the corner. “This isn’t over!” The golem shouts, “We are immortal, We shall rise!” “No," A dripping wet Ebony emerges from under the deck. “You will fall.” With a swipe of her hoof the pony cuts the corner of the deck away. The frozen golem falls. It shatters breaking the mask when it hit the ground. Ebony lands on the deck and sighs. Snow Kiss was shaking Rider to wake his unconscious body. The colt coughs and wheezes. “Is he going to be okay” Ebony asks concerned. “No, he’s in bad shape,” Snow kiss answers. A pegasus guard lands on the deck. “Children, I’ve been ordered to evacuate you from the property,” He looks at the three foals. “Is this all of you?” “No, there’s another one of us,” Snow Kiss answers, “She’s on the floor above us.” “Take me to her,” The guard orders. Snow Kiss leads the pony away. Rider starts to stir. “Rider, speak to me!” Ebony shouts. “I hurt everywhere,” Rider groans. Ebony kisses the colt on the lips. “What was that for?” Rider asks. “To make your ouches go away,” Ebony answers, “Did it work.” “A little, could you try again?” Rider smiles. “Nice try, I’m not that into you,” Ebony remarks. “You’re a tease,” Rider laughed. “Ahhhh!” A scream came from above them. Something large and white falls into the water fall. “What was that?” Rider asks in shock. “I think half a horse,” Ebony answers. Then another white blur falls by them. “That should be the other half of the horse.” “Go,” Rider orders. Ebony nods her head and flies up to the second floor. She finds Litwire laying on the deck. The earth pony lifts her head. “Snow Kis…s she’s one of them!...m-my room!” Ebony rushes into Litwire’s room. She spots Snow Kiss in the corner wearing a yellow mask. “Why!” Ebony lashes out at the pony hitting her. The unconscious pony slumps to the side allowing the mask to fall off. Buzzp! “Ahhhh!” Ebony screams as the power hoof burns into her back. The bat pony instinctively bucks knocking the earth pony into the railing. Ebony flinches from her injured wing. Litwire smiles at the pain she caused. “You’re really the avatar of the final mask,” Ebony winced. “Yes,” Litwire answers. “The bottle was cursed so that Luna and her bat ponies could only touch it. But it was just a matter of time to get one of them to touch the bottle. The stories warned of a filly controlled by the masks. So I had to act carefully. I acted as a brilliant orphan with a passion for invention to gain the eye of a bat lord. Become friends with one of his daughters. Suggest clues and ideas to her friends which would eventually lead us to the abandon settlement. Once there I separated myself from the group to scope out the location where the bottle was hidden. I just had to pretend I found it when I was with the others mainly you. From there I had to make sure you brought it back home. I never expected you to break it so soon.” “Okay where is your mask,” Ebony points out. “Once I took over this body I didn’t need to wear the mask anymore so I hid it,” Litwire smiles, “After all why would I keep a thing that could kill me on me?” “Okay how this stuff suppose to work for you?” Ebony lift her hoof. “We bodiless ones live in the silver river,” Litwire explains, “When the princess brought the elixir into this world, she unknowingly brought us here. Take that elixir and use it to make a mirror we should be able to open a gate to the silver river letting all of my kind into this world.” “I won’t let that happen!” Ebony snaps. “But it is,” Litwire presses a button she was holding. Ebony looks down to see cables at her feet. A sudden jolt of energy goes through her body. The bat pony collapses her body twitching. As Ebony lay there Litwire puts on a power suit with cable whips. “It’s kind of ironic,” Litwire looks at her electrode covered hoof. “My life was spent working on this technology and it happens to give me the power to stand hoof to hoof with you. Speaking of I think I might have to cut those hooves of yours off to retrieve the elixir.” Ebony slowly stands to her feet. Litwire sets off the cables again. The bat pony lunges forward and sinks her fangs into Litwire’s arm. The electric shocks only made her clamp down harder. Litwire yells out in pain as the bones in her arm snap. She pushes against the bat pony. The struggled leads the ponies out onto the deck. Taking the chance to get away, Ebony kicks off the rail. With her good wing, she glides to the bottom floor. Ebony hears Litwire crack her whips as she limped down stairs. She saw the spark of the whips as it cut into the wood. Ebony franticly runs at a painful limp. Litwire swings her whip burning into the pony’s rump. She yelps in pain a collapses to the floor. Litwire puts her hoof on the bat pony’s hip. “Don’t make this harder on you,” Litwire told Ebony. Rider jumps out into the open and pushes Litwire into the railing. She replies by whipping him in the cheek. Ebony gets under the electrified earth pony and flips her over the railing. Ebony climes up on the rail and jumps off. She slammed into Litwire’s falling body and kicks it into the water fall’s rock cliff. Litwire hits the wall head first making a loud snap. Her body hits the rocks below. Ebony opens her good wing to glide down. She winces in pain as the tip of her wing scrapes the rocks. Finally she gets the room to move away from the cliff and she lands at the base. Once at the bottom the bat pony sighs in relief. Litwire’s broken body suddenly jumps up out of the water. “You think you can beat me! I am immortal!” Snow Kiss uses her magic to knock a rock loose from the side of the cliff. She makes it land on Litwire with a crunch. “Good thing you’re immortal.” Ebony remarks. The bat pony walks over to a grassy patch. She lets the warm sun hit her body and falls asleep. Behind the pony, blood wash away down river. The river water sinks in the soil. This leads into an aquifer. The water from the aquifer leaks into the basement of a long abandon home. The yellow mask in the basement laughs as its eyes glow.
