> My Little Pony: Friendship is a Limerick > by Amante > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Mare in the Moon > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The tale to tell starts with a tome, With a place, simply put, polychrome. Pony populated, all were elated. Twas truly a place to call home. This was the land of Equestria. Ruled by Luna and Celestia. Both were very tall and each had a big ball and made their subject’s lives bestia. During the day they went out and played, but at night on their beds did they lay. This made Luna sad, which in turn made her mad. So she said, “I shall hold the sun at bay!” Her dear Luna had crossed a line, Her ponies were running out of time. A really big rainbow had put on a show, and punished her for her great crime The Elements of Harmony, legend to the average pony sent Luna to the moon to await her own doom. Victory won without ceremony. On the throne did she sit, alone. Hoping one day she could atone. She had no time to grieve, duty gave no reprieve. But this was something no one had known. Back to the present, under a tree, our heroine, Twilight, you would see. The story familiar, she found quite peculiar. So she rushed back home with great urgency. She climbed the steps of her tower, and pushed the door open with great power. She bumped into Spike and gave him a fright, and told him, “Now is not the hour!” Through the many shelves they had searched for a book helpful to her research. On top, Spike had found it, which she grabbed in a fit, then placed it upon her book perch. The Mare in the Moon it did say, in a thousand years she’d have her day. Night everlasting, the concept appalling. A warning for the Princess now on its way. A reply came with impressive haste but what it read left her disgraced. “Stop reading those books and leave your little nook. I have something else for you to be engaged.”  In Ponyville did they soon arrive. A friend to make, she did strive. A little pink mare, with pink fluffy hair gasped and ran away when she said, “Hi.” Twilight’s jimmies were now rustled, she made her way with no kerfuffle. “Let’s get this over with, and let’s make it quick.” she said, feeling more disgruntled. She soon found herself on a large farm, which had quite a rustic, rural charm. On the side she did see, a pony kick a tree, who approached her and grabbed her forearm. “Howdy, I’m Applejack!” she did say, straining Twilight’s arm the whole way. Exchanging pleasantries, with no deficiencies. For lunch she was then asked to stay. Foods from apples she was presented in many ways she had not expected. They came with their namesakes, which made her headshake. All of it, she found unconceited.   She proceeded to make her leave, there was nothing here to achieve. She was stopped by a filly with a bow that was silly who had eyes you would not believe. Now back in town, she had one regret: Her tummy was too big for a vignette. A blue pony that flew, whose flight was askew hit our hero and got them both wet. She apologized as she got up, getting her dry as she tried to makeup. Her name was Rainbow Dash. The reason for the crash was a trick that she tried to pickup. To be a Wonderbolt was in fact, the reason why she was so sidetracked. Twilight then gave a sneer, "Dare to keep the sky clear?" She cleared the skies in ten seconds flat. When Rainbow Dash had finally gone, Twilight decided to move on. The inside of town hall had looked like a ball. For a mare in the center, Spike did fawn. She turned and looked at Twilight’s hair, her face was then covered by despair. She gave a loud yelp. This mare needed help. And so offered her eye for flair. They found themselves at her boutique, from there she began to critique, plenty of outfits which passed in a blitz. Finally, she found one truly unique. Canterlot was said whilst fitting a dress, onto Twilight, this added more stress. Rarity was her name, fashion, her game. Being from there, she was impressed. Twilight managed to get away. To more of that, she would say ‘neigh.’ Back to her objective, her mind ever perceptive, heard the sound of birds not too far away. She came across a mare that was yellow, making birds sing songs that were mellow. She tried to say ‘hi,’ but the birds, they did shy, and so did their flying pony fellow. She tried to start a conversation,  in order to make friendly foundation. But when she saw Spike, Twilight, she did strike, just to get closer to the dragon. Twilight then gave a great big sigh, as she said her name was Fluttershy. When they had gotten inside, to go with them she tried. Twilight pushed her out and said, “Goodbye!” Twilight’s rudeness Spike did chastise She said stalling was also unwise. The threat of Nightmare Moon would be here very soon. The lights came on and yelled was, “Surprise!” What she wanted to say was unmannerly, when a pony went to her, very bubbly. It was the pink mare from way back over there who organized all this tomfoolery. “You’re new here so I threw a party!” she said in a way very hearty. Twilight was not amused, she wanted to get soused. But instead poured a bottle too spicy. She charged up the stairs, straight to her room, and looked outside to stare at the moon. She hoped she was wrong about Nightmare’s swan song, and she that could go home, oh so soon. Not too soon, Spike had called her out. It was time now to be up and about. Celebration begins, she had needles and pins, For Nightmare, did the princess account? As fate would have it she was right. That as foretold, on this very night, Nightmare Moon returns, And then they would learn, that to wrong her is truly a fright. And so she stood, dark and ominous. No more light, bright and treacherous. Gone was her sister, the annoying little blister. Her evil reign, grand and calamitous. > Elements of Harmony > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The evil mare stood there and cackled. All the guards, they did try to tackle. Though they were three, mortal they still be, and so there wasn’t much of a battle. In a wisp of smoke she disappeared, to the cover of night she had veered. Twilight Sparkle as well in town hall did not dwell all of which Rainbow Dash found weird. First course of action, let Spike sleep in right before messing up everything. Her face then contorted as she was confronted by Rainbow who was accusing. “Are you a spy or some other?” Twilight did not answer, rather four more had appeared the air around her cleared and with her they all gathered. Through the magic that was Pinkie the book was found in her esprit. Twilight was confused, and a bit bemused. She just said, “It was under E!” She then related the story on the Elements of Harmony Six elements in total: The Kind, the Loyal Honesty, Laughter, Generosity. And most elusive of them all, Magic, that only a spark could call. All in the Everfree, that which made them wary. Kept hidden behind old castle walls. She wanted to go in alone, and finish it all on her own. They gave her a look then their heads shook. Their tenacity made her groan. They found themselves with a cliff to pass, not long after, it began to collapse. Twilight at the edge, Applejack gave a pledge. She let go and then heard gentle flaps. The fall had given her quite a scare but she was caught by pegasus mares. They set her back down and she looked around, what she saw though just made her stare. Charging towards was a manticore, and as it came near it gave a loud roar. But they did not run, rather stood as one, and promised to make it feel sore. As they fought they were tossed and thrown yet not once did they ever break bone. Fluttershy though, noticed the beast seemed unfocused. She stood in between and yelled, “Don’t!” She approached and picked up its paw, and knew she was right in what she saw. It had quite a prickle removal made it fickle. He hugged and licked her in thanks. D’aww They were in a forest very dark when they saw images upon the bark. Completely frightening, they stood there screaming. Yet Pinkie was laughing, the contrast stark. She looked to them and said “Don’t be silly, you just have to Giggle at the Ghostie.” She then began to sing which got Twilight wondering. The faces leaving all nilly willy. They found themselves at a raging river with a serpent whose cries made them shiver. His moustache had been cut, it made them go, “What.”  But Rarity knew, and grabbed a scale sliver. With a strike of the blade she cut, not the serpent, actually her butt. With the piece of her tail which was not very frail bonded with the hair which made him strut. His moustache whole and beautiful, he had been very grateful. So he bent down so they would not drown, to let them cross and just be helpful. They came upon a tattered bridge which was over a precarious ridge. Across, Rainbow flew. From darkness they grew, the Shadowbolts their latest hitch. An offer for fame and glory she just had to leave them sorry For her it was obvious no need to discuss. She simply told them, “Negatory.” They made it to the old castle, it wasn’t too much of a hassle. Five heavy stone balls were left in the main hall. They wondered how they could dazzle. They brought them down to look closer. Twilight they left alone to ponder. But a vortex appeared which made her disappear. Her friends were then left to wonder. Twilight was now facing the dark mare, at her hooves, the reason they were there. She had to think fast, and so forward she dashed. Before contact, teleport, with time to spare. Twilight’s bluff had payed out in full, Nightmare Moon made to look the fool. The orbs bright like a flare, shattered to her despair. The Elements were broken, did they fail? As she threw Twilight, Nightmare laughed. Everything, truly hers at last. But a voice from the dark, triggered the spark. Twilight’s friends, around her, amassed. Nightmare Moon stood in victory nothing could stand contradictory. She found it amusing how they kept on fighting. “Tell me, are you all simply crazy?” “You think it over, but its not. those large rocks are not what we sought. You can’t destroy them it’s from ponies they stem. The Elements is what they brought. “Applejack and her Honesty, Rarity with Generosity, Kindness of Fluttershy, Laughter of Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash’s Loyalty!” “You still don’t have magic!” she threatened. Twilight did not flinch for even a second. “That’s where you’re wrong. I know where I belong” Nightmare just can’t understand she reckoned. A gigantic beam of the rainbow even brighter than the sun’s glow consumed Nightmare Moon  brought about her doom, and the righteous end of the shadow. When it had finally ended a sphere of light truly splendid, entered the chamber a familiar stranger. Princess Celestia now present. She approached the mare of horror But now Nightmare Moon no longer. To rule she invited. Sisters reunited, a celebration now in order. Before we leave, one more decree Twilight in Ponyville she did agree, on one condition: she learn a lesson, and with it, was to share with thee. > The Ticket Master > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight and AJ walked on a day fair brimming apple baskets they did bear. They talk of Big Mac and a certain pact of wearing dear Granny’s underwear. But then they hear a rumbly tummy. Twilight’s craving something yummy. When all of sudden a letter of summon from the pony who is quite sunny. My Little Pony, rinse and repeat. Theme song begins not missing a beat. A song we all know that means it’s the show. Your arrival it does indeed greet. Applejack dreams to setup a stand with which to promote her apple brand. She wants at the bash to make tons of cash. To fix roof, plow, and hip as they planned. But then they hear a rustle in the tree. It was surprising, they both agree. A Rainbow falls down and is wearing a frown. To give AJ the ticket, she doesn’t agree. Attending the Gala would be her chance. The Wonderbolts, she could show them her stance. She would show them her trick, and then be their pick. Her one true dream could finally advance. The two ponies begin to compete. No ticket for who ends in defeat. Twilight slips away. She has to find a way, to make sure neither pony will feel beat. As she walked through Ponyville proper she got hit by a pony sweet, not sour. It was Pinkie Pie and the tickets she did spy. She thought them bats which made her cower. Seeing what they were, she began a song. One for which she was ready, all along. Celebration quite sweet with fun ponies to meet. She’s a party pony, what could go wrong? As she bounced around in happiness, arrived, Rarity, not wearing a dress. Her eyes they did grow. The chance to meet her beau, Her dreams of the gala, she did express. Truth be told, her plan had grand scale. It also sounded more like a fairy tale. Her prince she would find, their courtship refined. In Spike’s opinion, all too stale. All of a sudden a white bunny did swipe the tickets that were held by dear ol’ Spike. They were given to Fluttershy which widened her eye. yet the party did not give her hype. For her, it was only the garden room, and a chance to see it all in bloom. The beautiful flora and plentiful fauna. The buzzards did buzz, she did presume Our little Twilight was very distressed. To make a decision, she was hard pressed. Then out of nowhere came the rainbow mare. Trailing behind was AJ, just as she guessed. The five good friends started fighting. None of it really inviting. All for a ticket they’d jump in the thicket. An answer from Twilight they were inciting. To all of them she screamed, “QUIET!!!” First thing’s first, she needed her diet. After lunch she said, so she could clear her head. They’d just have to wait, and not cause a riot. At the shop she ordered a sandwich. To whom to give, she did not know which. The other ponies ran from fire into pan. Yet somehow, she had her own niche. The waiter asked, “Will you eat in the rain?” To which she replied, “Are you insane?” She looked up above the answer fit like a glove. Keeping her dry was Rainbow’s real game. In the end, she shooed her away. But nothing could keep the rain at bay. At least not until the next pony to thrill. Time for Rarity to do it her way. Her solution was quite simple: A makeover to let her twinkle. Then she let slide she could be a bride. Poor Twilight’s patience did dwindle. She made to leave but was stopped by a cart, filled up with treats from pies to tarts. AJ’s plan was food, frankly quite shrewd. But Twilight caught on and said, “Don’t you dare start.” She ran back to the library. Her own literary sanctuary. But to her surprise, inside another guise, Fluttershy’s form of bribery. The ticket the reason, no doubt. As she flew, a song she did spout. She cleaned up the books and every little nook. Twilight had enough and said, “Get out!” She opened the door and got caught. To Pinkie’s party, she was brought. Now all knew the secret, she had an extra ticket. ‘Uh oh,’ her one singular thought. Surrounded and put on the grill, starting here it all goes downhill. A chase all through town is what had went down, in the style of good ol’ Benny Hill. Trapped in a corner, she had one more trick. Teleportation, lickety split. She thought her alone, seeing friends made her groan. And made her enter a long sobbing fit. As the purple mare made her point clear the other five looked on in abject fear. They made Twilight feel bad which in turn made them sad. They completely burned out the poor little dear. They then told her that it was okay. To the ticket, they would say, “No way.” All except Rainbow, who was a bit slow, but did end up also saying, “Neigh.” Spike then did Twilight address, a solution for all of this stress. Return both of them rather than condemn. A lesson in friendship she did then express. The reply was immediate. In it, a solution quite lenient. Six invitations for the big occasion. All their tricks now expedient. With everypony satisfied Among friends Twilight did confide. But what about Spike? His belch then did strike. His own ticket made him feel ratified.
