Chapter 1: Tears Fall
A knock on the door followed by a whisper. "Rainbow dash your going to be late for your Doctor's appointment if you do not get up"
"Doctor's appointment?... I never made one."
"I made one for you, since you were complaining a lot about your right shoulder."
"WHAT!!! Fluttershy, it's just a sore shoulder I don't need to go to the doctor's just for that.
"Dash, could you just have them look at it, for a worried friend that cares about you.
"I'M NOT GOI-"
Dash was cut short on hearing crying coming from the other side of the door. Getting out of bed she went to the door to investigate the matter. Opening the door she found her friend laying on her welcome mat crying.
"I-I just want to make sure your o-okay and nothing is wrong with your shoulder."
Dash picked up her friend and hugged her and waited for her to calm down a bit before speaking.
"Alright alright you win, I'll go to the doctor's appointment, just please stop crying."
"Y-You mean it?"
"Yes, whens the appointment?"
"At 11:10am."
"It's 11:08am right now."
"What! we'll never make it in time?" Fluttershy about to cry again.
"Hey, no more crying. We'll never make it in time, yes, however me alone I'll make it. I'll see you later Fluttershy."And with that, Dash took flight leaving Fluttershy in mixed up feelings about the whole thing.
Rainbow dash just arrived when they were call her name.
"Rainbow Dash, your up. Please, follow me."
Dash was a bit shaken up, she didn't enjoy going to the doctor's, however she followed. The Nurse went left then right followed by another left bringing her to the inside of a small room then telling her to wait here and the Doctor would be in to see her in a few minutes. Dash took a seat and the Nurse closed the door behind her.
Dash was scared more then ever now, being alone in that room. It so happen to be the very same room she was in the last time she went to the doctors and received a shot in her flank. Memories coming back now Dash started trembling thinking she might receive another shot in her flank. Dash got up and made a run for the door. When all of a sudden it opened and the Doctor came in.
"Well, where are you off to in such a rush Rainbow Dash?"
"I-I have to-"
"Well why don't you go ahead and climb up on the examing table so I can get a good look at your shoulder. "
"Oh, alright."
Dash flew up to the examining table and laid down for the doctor to examine.
''Your friend told me it has been bothering you for a few days, care to explain?"
Dash told the Doctor all about her friend being a worry wart and that her shoulder was just sore and she only really came cause her friend would not stop crying. The Doctor felt around Rainbow Dash's shoulder and agreed with her that it was indeed just sore from over use and to just try to lay off of it a bit if she could.
"Alright Rainbow Dash everything seems to be in working order, your fre-"
Right then and there the Nurse that brought Dash in came through the door and walked over to the Doctor and whispered something in his ear. A concern look came to Dash on seeing the Doctor's expression. The Doctor nodded to the Nurse and they both looked at Dash then the Nurse walked out.
"Is everything alright?"
"Well your shoulder is fine, however it seems you've missed out on getting one of your shots. You should have gotten it a few years ago, however our records show that you have not been to the doctor's office in nearly 7 years. The Nurse went to go grab your shot and will be back any minute now to administer it."
Dash began to tremble and was horrified on hearing she was going to get a shot. Trying to fight off the tears knowing it would be in her flank.
"A s-shot, I-I don't need a shot, I'm perfectly fine."
"The shot helps increase bone density, everypony gets it. Don't worry, it will be over before you know it."
"I should of said this sooner, but I don't have the bits to cover this."
"Oh, do not despair Rainbow Dash your friend is covering your visit."
( Damn it! Fluttershy) Dash mentally thought.
The Nurse came in and the Doctor left giving his regards to Rainbow Dash. The Nurse was holding a shot with pink liquid inside approaching Dash with it. Dash got up from laying down and stared horrified at the point that was heading her way.
"Rainbow Dash, your going to have to lay back down again for me to administer your shot."
"I DON"T NEED IT!"
Dash cried out and jumped off the examining table and made a run for the door. The Nurse was a bit shocked on Rainbow Dash's reaction. Dash was seconds from freedom when the Nurse grabbed her. Holding her with one hoof and whispering to her.
"shhh!shhh! It's alright Rainbow Dash, It's alright."
Dash was trembling and crying. "P-Please... don't... please don't give me a shot."
"It's only going to hurt for a moment dear, then it'll be all over. This is to help you, we'd never do something like this to hurt you on purpose without a cause behind it."
The words did little to none to help Dash, she just hung her head and continued to cry. The Nurse helped her back to the examining table. She laid down crying and holding her flank.
"Rainbow Dash your going to have to let go of your flank so I can get a clear shot."
Dash looked up at the nurse with tears running down her face, she let go of her flank then looked at the door. In that split second that was all the time the nurse needed to administer Dash's shot. She sterilized the area then was in and out in a flash. It hurt more then it should have for Dash cause she tensed up. Dash turned around and jumped into the Nurse's hooves. The Nurse embraced Rainbow Dash and allowed her to cry in her hooves. It was quite awhile before Dash calm enough for the Nurse to let go of her.
"Now Rainbow Dash the shot will make you a little weak so you should go home, get a lot of rest and drink plenty of liquids, oh and your friend is in the lobby waiting for you."
Dash cleared her face of any remaining tears and walked out of the tiny room finding Fluttershy waiting in the lobby.
"How'd it go, is your shoulder alright?
Dash looked angrily at Fluttershy knowing if it was not for her, she wouldn't have gotten a shot in her flank. However the anger past, knowing that her friend did all this cause she cared for her like a true friend.
"The Shoulder's fine, they just said I need to lay off it for a few day's if I could."
"Oh, that's good. If you need anything don't be afraid to ask."
"Me afraid, haha don't make me laugh. I'm not afraid of anything!" ( Except, needles!)
Dash boosted then turned and flew away.
The Nurse appeared once more.
"So, how much is the charge?"
"A lot more then what we discussed on the phone."
"Oh, my...."
